CA Final Test Series for November 2022 and May 2023 - GM Test Series

CA Final is the last and closing level of chartered accountant course after clearing this stage the applicant become the CA and member of ICAI respectively.
To reach at this level student firstly need to clear the both groups of CA Intermediate and also have completed 3 years of practical training before they can appear for this examination. The eligible candidates can register for the CA course and can also pay for the required fees Rs. 36,500(including registration and training fees) online. After done with the registration students can start with their preparations.
From August 2022, the exam forms for the students appearing in the November 2022 exam will open with fees around 3300 and after that student will get the admit card 14 days before their exams. Very important thing in this is that every student must keep in their mind is that the admit card can be downloaded only 3 times. Therefore, students need to take a few Xerox of the admit card. They can know all the information about the CA Final Admit Card, on the website. To clear the Ca Final course students need to get the around 40% in each subject and 50% overall. After this ICAI announces the results nearly after 2 months of last paper.  There are various ways to check the CA Final Result i.e. online, through SMS, and email.
Now we move to the syllabus and subjects for Nov 2022 and May 2023, this course consist of 8 subjects and all these subjects are categorised into 2 groups which means 4 subjects in single group. The sixth paper has more about six optional subjects from which students need to select only one. For the upcoming attempt the ICAI has recently deleted some topics from Paper 4 and Paper 5. In Group 1 the subjects included are SFM, Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics, and Corporate and Economic Law. And in Group 2 SCM and PE, Risk Management, Financial Services and Capital Markets, International Taxation, Economic Laws Paper, Global Financial Reporting Standards Paper, Multidisciplinary Case Study Paper, DT & IT and Indirect Tax Law. Therefore, the students need to practice a lot for such a large number of subjects so along with the proper studies they also require proper guidance. Because of the giant curriculum of Chartered accountancy, the students have a lot of tough time of figuring out how to learn or practice the full fledged syllabus because for the CA intermediate students it can be possible by a chance, if we talk about CA final student the syllabus is not impractical to complete or in fact very hard to remember at the examination.

ICAI Registration for the CA Foundation exam is done in 2 parts:
Course Registration – This registration is to be done in advance depending on your attempts Before 1st January for May Attempt and Before 1st July for November 2021 Attempts.
Exam Registration – This is to be done to register for the attempt and the window for the same opens 2-3 months before the exam is scheduled.
2. What kind of timeline does the CA Foundation preparation take?
Being your first professional exam, a student must ensure that they enroll themselves with a Coaching Provider who has the experience of Coaching the students across all levels of Chartered Accountancy Course.
CA Foundation syllabus takes nearly 500 hours of first-time study with your coaching provider and 300 hours of self-study. This typically spans over 6-7 months as: Coaching: 4 – 4.5 months. Self-Study & Exam Preparation – 3 months.
It is recommended that you try to complete the entire syllabus in the first read at least 3 – 3.5 months before your exam the help of chapter-wise tests, cluster tests and prelims.

Revision Test Papers (‘RTPs’) – Issued by ICAI a couple of months before each attempt. They have chapter wise questions to help revise certain topics.
Mock Test Papers (‘MTPs’) – ICAI conducts mock exams before each attempt.

4. How can I make time crunching my superpower and how many reads of the syllabus are advisable?
Break down your entire portion into groups of subjects (Structured and MCQs). It is recommended that you take up at least 2 subjects a day to ensure efficient study and keep monotony at bay.
We would recommend 3 detailed revisions and a mock revision from exam perspective for a thorough knowledge of the topics.
The number of hours you dedicate per day in your Self Study Leave period should gradually increase. It may be fair to plan more frequent breaks and smaller study slots in the beginning to set yourself in motion. We would recommend starting off with 6-7 hours a day and eventually escalating it to 8-9 hours at your peak.

Revisions are the key to clear CA Foundation and the best way to effectively revise again and again is to use watered-down versions of your notes.
Subjects  -  Tips
Accounting -  Maintain a log of important and tricky questions with the concepts and a repository of formula formats and specimen journal entries.
Law & English - A consolidated list of section numbers across various Acts will help to recall the section numbers in the exam paper. Make compact notes of Grammar Rules for English.
Mathematics & Statistics - Make a repository of all the important formulae, shortcuts, and concepts.
Economics & BCK - Develop summary notes for the various concepts and for statistics record of facts and figures.
Make effective use of ICAI developed summaries “Reference for Quick Revision”.
*Pro Tip – Record your understanding of comparatively complicated topics through voice notes so that you don’t waste time on them again.
7. How important is it to practice Mock Exams?
The CA exams can well be described as a game of chess – the best trick to know your way through exams is practice. Mocks give an idea of what’s to come – the nerves before the exam, problems relating to recollecting and associating questions to the related topics, dealing with the anxiety of not knowing and managing your speed.
It is advisable to schedule at least two mock exams along with several chapter-wise and cluster tests.
When attempting mock exams for the MCQ based subjects, use OMR sheets for efficient practice. You may get a limited number of sheets for rough work – practice to make judicious use of the sheets while giving mock exams.
8. What are the presentation tips and tricks to crack the structured papers of Accounting & Law?

Steps form an integral part of your ACCOUNTING PAPER, – Make sure you don’t miss out on any questions. You may not know the entire solution to a question but try to explain as many steps as possible and grab those marks! Ensure that you add a working note wherever necessary to make your answer detailed and comprehensive.
In BUSINESS LAW & ENGLISH, make sure your answers are crisp but detailed. Quote section numbers (as much as possible), explain the provisions, correlate the question with the provision and then give a conclusion. In case of lengthy answers, try to break down the various points into bullets to help the examiner navigate seamlessly across the answer.
While there is no ICAI recommended format for the answers – refer to 4-5 attempts’ past papers, and the last 3 RTPs, MTPs to get an idea about expected questions and the recommended formats to answer the same.

A student must use a Cordless Portable Calculator with up to 6 functions, 12 digits and 2 memories.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR CA CS CMA EXAMINATION – PLAN, TIPS & STRATEGY

As we all know CA CS CMA examinations conducted by the institutes (ICAI, ICSI, and ICMAI) at all three levels are tough.
You need to have mastery of a tremendous amount of facts and ideas. So, here are some expert tips and tricks for you to conquer this Everest.

1. Find out what’s in the exam First of all, figure out the length of your course content and prepare yourself mentally.
2. Study Material Try and develop a sense to figure out excess study material from the exam point of view and cross that material immediately in your book. Study Material provided by the institute is not updated most of the time and full of totally irrelevant material/theory.
3. Prepare Notes for Important Topics If you have time prepare notes only for important topics along with frequently asked question’s solution.
4. Pointwise Answers In Exams don’t write your answer in paragraphs. Try and mention it in pointwise details with relevant sections and case laws.
5. Use of Sections In my opinion you shouldn’t ask anybody about the relevance of quoting sections in Exams. It is off course extremely useful in law subjects, especially in CA Exams. Try and quote section in your exams without any hesitation. However, they have to learn by default by practice. If you make it a habit now, it will 100% payment at the time of your final preparation.  
6.   You may also mention the Registrar of Companies E-forms while writing your answer in Examinations.
For example, if you are answering the question “Transfer of Registered Office of a Company within the city”. You, after mentioning the procedure of transfer, may also mention that Company is required to file form 18 with Registrar of Companies within 30 days of passing the Resolution in Board Meeting.
7. Very Important Revision Tips What you prepare on Monday try and recall it on Tuesday without using books. If you are able to recall 60%-70%, then you are 100% going to succeed in this examination. Again try to recall the same after the gap of 2-3 days.
8. Use the abbreviation method If you have 10 points to remember in a question give them a certain abbreviation and remember that abbreviation.
9. ATLAS Study Method This method is completely developed and named by me and is extremely helpful for fetching good marks. ATLAS STANDS FOR “AT LAST”. There are always some questions, formulas, Sections, and case laws that we simply fail to recall in the exam hall. According to this method if you find anything very difficult to remember then after preparing the same topic once or twice put it in the ATLAS. Keep putting difficult topics in ATLAS till the exam date. There would be a different ATLAS for law, audit, accounts, etc. Now 1.5 hours before leaving your home for examination hall open ATLAS question list and revise it properly or give it a special reading. Now if you find any question from ATLAS in the exam paper it would be very easy for you to answer as you specially revise it just 2-3 hours back and your confidence level will automatically increase at the beginning of the exam. What say???
10.     Keep review your ATLAS list and modify it accordingly. If initially you put any question in ATLAS and now you are confident enough about that particular question you can remove that question from ATLAS. Don’t put easy and non-important questions in ATLAS as this concept is for revising extra-ordinary important questions just 2-3 hours before the examination. If you need any help understanding this method please let me know.
11.     Don’t play with the language of law specially Definitions. It is strongly recommended to put the definition in the exact language. However, you can take slight liberty while drafting your answer in respect of other law languages but the context, texture, interpretation, and meaning should not be changed.
12. Query Notebook Keep a query diary with you during study time and note your queries in this diary and resolve them the same day or next day. Do not keep your query unresolved. You may also take reference of this diary later during exam time. Also, mention the answer to your query in the query diary.
13. Presentation skills Work out on your presentation skills. You may ask your query regarding presentation skills.
14.     Remember you can use the preparation of Company Law in your Audit paper. Company Audit–II chapter is based on the company law like Audit of share capital, share transfer, and dividend Audit.
15. Finalize Notes Don’t use different notes for one topic. Finalize your notes before starting the final Examination preparation and stick with them.    
16. Revision 10 Days before the examination date do not add any new topic in your schedule. Just focus on revision-revision and revision.
17. Length of Answers In Theory papers length of answer plays an important role due to time factor. Regarding this, you may take reference from suggested answers provided by ICAI. Write your answer according to the marks allocated.
18. Your Health Take very good care of your health. Consider your health as a subject. Remember if you fail to perform well in this subject you are going to fail.
19. Plan your answer Your exam preparation should be such that when you first see the question the entire answer should be in your mind. It will help you to plan the length of your answer according to the availability of time.
20. Time-saving method As per my opinion in theory paper, you should attempt flat questions first. After that attempt practical problems. Like in Audit or Law first attempt short notes or distinctions etc. In the beginning, if you attempt practical problems first then there may be a wastage of time in reading the problem twice or thrice.
21. Complete your paper Try and make an effort to complete your paper 100%. In other words, attempt full paper of 100 marks. You may cut the length of your answer in the end as per the availability of time.
22. Make Point & give heading In other words, write your answer to the point. Try and convert the paragraphs into points and give them a heading like I am giving in this article. However, if during the exam you have no time then avoid this practice. But it’s a very good technique of theory presentation.
Give a composed reading to all the points as they have a relevant connection with your preparation. You can easily observe every point if you understand them properly and prepare your mind accordingly. Later on, you may interpret it accordingly.

How do I get my CPT admit card?
Admit cards in respect of all eligible candidates admitted to the CPT examination, with their photographs and signatures on them, will be hosted on www.icaiexam.icai.org

Yes. It is valid. In case the CPT admit card does not bear the photograph and signature of the candidate, he/she is advised to paste his/her photograph and affix his/her signatures in the area marked on the printout of the admit card and get this page attested by a member of the Institute/Head of Institution/Gazetted Officer (member may indicate his/her Name, membership number, and affix his/her office stamp while signing/attesting at the bottom of that page) and carry the same to the examination centre, in duplicate, as proof of his/her identity.
He/she will be required to hand over the original attested admit card to the examination centre, while retaining one copy of the same, for his/her own record. He/She is also advised to carry one stamp size photograph (matching with the photograph affixed on the attested print out referred to above) to the exam centre for affixing the same at the appropriate place in the attendance register.

Yes. It is valid. In case the admit card does not bear the photograph and signature of the candidate, he/she is advised to paste the photograph and affix signatures in the area marked on the printout of the admit card and get this page attested by a member of the Institute (member may indicate his/her Name, membership number, and office stamp while signing/attesting at the bottom of that page) and carry the same to the examination centre, in duplicate, as proof of his/her identity.

Exemptions granted to you are not shown on the admit card. Please go through the relevant statement of marks of the exam, where in your opinion, you were granted an exemption in a paper(s).
Alphabet “E” printed against the marks of a paper denotes that marks of that paper have been brought forward from an exemption granted in that paper in an earlier attempt.
So also, “#” symbol printed against the marks of a paper denotes that you have been granted an exemption in that paper, which will be valid for the next three following exams. Also the result below that Group shows “F-EX”
If no such symbol or alphabet is printed against the marks of any paper, even though the marks obtained in that paper may be more than 60, then that indicates that no exemption has been granted in that paper.
You can log in with your single sign on credentials at http://icaiexam.icai.org after 15th April for May cycle exams & 15th October for November Cycle exams to check your exemptions.
Candidates are advised to go through the rules relating to “Exemption in a paper(s)” contained in the Guidance Notes hosted along with the Examination form, CA Regulations 1988 and the announcement dated 09-01-2018 hosted on the institute’s website www.icai.org and be clear about their exemption entitlements and not miss out on appearing in those paper/s where they are not eligible for exemption. Follow these below steps to download your ICAI admit card from ICAI official website easily.
First go to ICAI official website : https://icaiexam.icai.org
Login to your dashboard with your registration number and password.
Click on ” view ” link in front of admit card.

1. How do I get my admit card?
Admit cards in respect of all eligible candidates admitted to the Foundation, Intermediate (IPC), Intermediate, Final and Final-New examination, with their photographs and signatures on them, will be hosted on www.icaiexam.icai.org
2. Will the admit cards contain my photograph and signature?
Yes, if the application you have submitted contains them.
3. I had not affixed my photograph in the exam form. Can I send them now?
Yes. However, once the admit cards are hosted, no changes will be made thereon. The photographs will be used at the time of preparation of pass certificates. We advise you to carry with you a photo identity card issued by Govt. agencies or by ICAI at the time of registration as articled assistants, to the examination hall, along with the admit card downloaded/printed from the website. Also please refer to the reply to question no. 5 given herein below.
4. How do I print my admit card from the website?
Visit the site http://www.icaiexam.icai.org
Log in using your log in ID(Registration Number) andpassword.
Click on link in front of AdmitCard
Your admit card and the “Instructions to Examinees” will appear on the screen. You can then print the same in A 4 size paper.
5. My photograph and/or signature are not there in the admit card. Is it valid?
Yes. It is valid. In case the admit card does not bear the photograph and signature of the candidate, he/she is advised to paste the photograph and affix signatures in the area marked on the printout of the admit card and get this page attested by a member of the Institute (member may indicate his/her Name, membership number, and office stamp while signing/attesting at the bottom of that page) and carry the same to the examination centre, in duplicate, as proof of his/her identity.
He/she will be required to hand over the original attested admit card to the examination centre, while retaining one copy of the same, for his/her own record. He/She is also advised to carry one* stamp size photograph (matching with the photograph affixed on theattested letter referred above) to the exam centre for affixing the same at the appropriate place in the attendance register.
(*NOTE : Please carry two stamp size photograph if you are a unit/both groups candidate.)
6. I have downloaded my admit card from the website. However, details therein do not relate to me. What should I do?
Contact the Helpline numbers ( mentioned below) immediately, quoting your registration number, bar code number of your examination form and receipt number issued by the regional office(s), if any, centre opted (with zone, if applicable), telephone number, fax number etc.
7. I have downloaded my admit card from the website. However, details therein are different from what I had filled in my exam application form. What should I do now?
Send an email or contact the Helpline numbers ( mentioned below) immediately, quoting your registration number, bar code number of your examination form and receipt number issued by the regional office(s), centre opted (with zone, if applicable), telephone number, fax number etc.
8. I have not yet received the physical admit card sent by post by ICAI. What should I do?
The practice of sending physical admit cards by post is discontinued with effect from May 2017 examination onwards.
You are required to print your admit card from the website http://icaiexam.icai.org and carry the same to the examination hall.
9. I am not able to print my admit card from the site. What should I do?
Contact the Helpline numbers (mentioned below) immediately, quoting your registration number, bar code number of your examination form and receipt number issued by the regional office(s), centre opted (with zone, if applicable), telephone number, fax number etc.
10. I have a valid exemption in a paper. However, the admit card does not show that exemption. Will I get the exemption?
Exemptions granted to you are not shown on the admit card. Please go through the relevant statement of marks of the exam, where in your opinion, you were granted an exemption in a paper(s).
Alphabet “E” printed against the marks of a paper denotes that marks of that paper have been brought forward from an exemption granted in that paper in an earlier attempt.
So also, “#” symbol printed against the marks of a paper denotes that you have been granted an exemption in that paper, which will be valid for the next three following exams. Also the result below that Group shows “F-EX”
If no such symbol or alphabet is printed against the marks of any paper, even though the marks obtained in that paper may be more than 60, then that indicates that no exemption has been granted in that paper.
You can log in with your single sign on credentials at http://icaiexam.icai.org after 15th April for May cycle exams & 15th October for November Cycle exams to check your exemptions.
Candidates are advised to go through the rules relating to “Exemption in a paper(s)” contained in the Guidance Notes hosted along with the Examination form, CA Regulations 1988 and the announcement dated 09-01-2018 hosted on the institute’s website www.icai.org and be clear about their exemption entitlements and not miss out on appearing in those paper/s where they are not eligible for exemption. Candidates can also check the status of the paper(s) in which they are eligible for exemption in the forthcoming examination, at http://icaiexam.icai.org.

Today we are providing step by step process to download your ICAI admit card (आईसीएआई एडमिट कार्ड ). The institute of chartered accountants of India conducts CA Intermediate exams (new syllabus) twice in a year in the months of May and November. Due to elections, this time ICAI is conducting CA Inter exams May 2019 from 28th May 2019. In general, ICAI released CA Inter admit cards/hall ticket just before 20 days of exams.
