I haven't had nearly as much of a problem with this on just-sfw-butts, but how do bloggers have the time to block every single follower they feel they need to weed out. I do block plenty of blogs, but I don't get the degree of detail others go into. "You must state your specific age." A) Not posting personal info on the internet is a healthy habit. B) When someone does, why assume they're telling the truth?
Who I must and do block: degenerates and spammers. I don't need to specify. Who benefits from that info? Blogs who want to pass themselves off as legit when they're not. That's the opposite of what I'd want. Who else would look at pinned posts or read headers as advice for how to behave?

Keys guide to scam spotting
Hi! I’m Key/Jess and I’ll be giving you a detailed explanation on how to spot scam accounts with commonly known examples such as what they do or what to look out for. All this information is meant to serve as a post that can be easily understood with information of my own and tips of my own. Any tips I give here is my own and any resemblance to other info is entirely a coincidence. I will make this post as accessible as possible for ease of readability so it is all plain text and no big letters beside the top so it has a title. This is mostly based around pet donation scammers but can be used to spot other scams as well.
What is a scam post on tumblr? A scam post is when someone is using information that isn’t their own and claiming they need money but are using a stolen story as theirs. Their situation, while it is real most of the time, is actually from another site and isn’t their situation. Usually a search of it will show any posts but this works best if you used Google or another search engine. However, this process isn’t always reliable. Scam posts are posts that are not truthful and deceive users into donating by having stolen content.
There are a few things to keep in mind that will help you figure out if an account contacting you is a scammer and usually, most of the time, you will find it is a legitimate person if you just kindly ask them for verification with any personal details removed. However, some blogs will never reply and may block you or ignore you because they don’t have any interest in proving who they are. It’s not uncommon for these scammers to wave away questions or turn off anon asks or asks off overall so no one can ask them anything. They may even turn off messages to further prevent any concerns being addressed and try to avoid suspicion.
One thing to keep in mind is how the account contacting you would have located you. Do you have a popular post that’s breached containment? Did you share a post that may be trending or fandom related? Any of these may lead to someone contacting you an asking you for donations be it through asks or direct messages. If your DMs are closed, the account may send you an ask telling you to message them first because they are desperate and then when contacted they ask you for like a thousand dollars on the spot. If you wonder why I suggest limiting your messages, it’s because people don’t like getting these and will mark it as spam. Scammers also do this to avoid public confrontation. But know not everyone doing this is scamming.
Another thing to keep in mind is how the ask was worded that the account sent you. Did it tell you to answer privately because they don’t want anyone calling them a spammer or because they would prefer you to message them instead? This is a very common type of scam ask and one that’s unfortunately extremely easy to get and see if you share trending/popular posts. Most often these are asks related to a sick pet by a blog that is only an hour old or a week old if you check the date of their pinned post. If they detect even the slighted doubt in your reply or question back? They block you.
Lastly, it doesn’t hurt to also ask questions to the blog who contacts you and see if they can provide clarification on anything you may be concerned over. This can be showing more images with personal info edited out or explaining any discrepancies in the info they supplied. For example, it could be how the images their using don’t match up with their information or how the story their using doesn’t seem to make sense because it’s not collaborating with any specific details they had already given. It may also be the supporting link they supply doesn’t match up the currency they request because the county doesn’t use the specific kind of currency they claim to need. More so if they don’t give any currency conversion rates. You can also check for backdated posts by turning on timestamps and checking the date of the first post if it’s easy to locate and seeing if it matched the reblog date in ‘other notes’. Some accounts will make posts look older in order to be deceptive and make the account look older then it really is.
Additionally, some scams are blogs who connect you saying they can help you but they want to give you a check and ask you to cash it or give them your banking information and phone number. These blogs are never legitimate people wanting to help you if your post has links that lead to ways to send support. Their are legitimate people who would help you that don’t ask for personal information using a blog that has no pfp, no bio, and has no posts. Treat these kind of blank accounts as bots. Report them and block them.
In closing, it is necessary to research the information you see in some posts and accounts to make sure it is a legitimate blog and not a scammer trying to make a quick buck. Not every blog you see asking for help is a scam account and generally most of them can easily provide proof their legitimate such as having several close friends, a blog that’s extremely old with tons of posts, or provides plenty of information in their posts that clearly explains their situation and shows the images they use is their own and don’t resort to a temper tantrum when questioned or when concerns are brought up.
If you found this post useful, feel free to share it or add your own tips to it! This is just based around my own personal encounters over the months of compiling information.

I feel so loved lol, also just imagining me and Ghost downing pills in the morning (cause pain ain't the only thing wrong pfft) just like 'cheers?' 'cheers' but seriously thank you, I really feel like people think I complain too much about it so when people let me rant and talk about it esp in this type of form where it's multiple messages (I'm a message spammer in heart, love just sending a million messages about anything my brain is thinking) it just makes me really happy. Cause like I don't really have many outlets for it as I haven't been able to see a physical therapist for my issues just a general practitioner which means all I have are meds right now so there's no progress other than my day to day issues so i feel like people get really tired about hearing about it or me talking about it
(previous post to get what we're talking about)
Well great, cuz you are loved! And yeah, that's exactly how it goes! And when Ghost takes his mood stabilizers he's like "this one's for you lovie". And the obligatory after-pill kiss! It might be a bit sticky and maybe even bitter after all that drug goodness, but it's just as important as pills, you know.
I dunno, love, I feel like if you're in CONSTANT PAIN you kinda can never complain ENOUGH about that shit. And I love getting many messages! It's a conversation. Makes me feel better that I didn't accidentally say the wrong thing too, you know, so we're all benefitting from this :)
Ooof but I'm still sad you couldn't see the specialist, I hope you can some time soon. Price would absolutely get you to the best one he can find; this man somehow avoids doctors himself like plague (pun intended), but you and the boys? Nuh-uh, no chance of slacking or missing appointments or postponing or whatever complication prevents you from going - Price has already dealt with it, get into the car, let him do your seatbelt cuz he's a gentleman like that, and off you go. Even if you have your physical therapy at home (his name's Johnny and even he insisted you go to a real doc no matter how much he likes taking care of you himelf).
Whatever instructions they would give you for what to do at home, though, Price makes sure to pass it down to Gaz, who's more than happy to do it with you. And he'll also probably do some excersises outside it with you too, maybe even get you both in a yoga class or something after you start to feel better. Or just you two in a living room with some youtube training video playing (I immediately went to 80s aerobics classes in my mind and imagined Kyle in bright pink leotard, fuck) or those audio instructions from apps like Nike has (I think?) in your earbuds.
And Ghost, Soap and Price just standing in the doorway/sitting on the couch and admiring the view. Yeah, physical therapy and some soft excersises. For health.

i’m not used to people caring about me in the way i actually need or want. babe, you scare me a bit. there’s a reason i fuck everything up before anything has the chance to be anything more than a pipe dream.
i start talking to her vaguely, drunkenly, about vulnerability. i crave it, but i can’t take it. i get it, and i get scared in the way a raccoon does at night when you shine a flashlight at it while its rifling through your trash.
i need it though. in that not-too-soft, but still there, somehow, against every odd way not a single soul has been able to replicate. believe me when i say i’ve tried. when i say i’ve told you what i want.
there’s a reason i do everything drunk. impaired. whatever adjective lets me view everything that happens as some sort of third party.
i care about you, but somehow not enough. somehow never in the right way. i compensate by romanticizing everything in the worst way. i’ll fixate on the terrible parts of everything and then fall in my version of love with it.
i’ll tell people i love the things i know im supposed to. your hand in my hair, the smile you give me when i make a dumb nonsequiter joke that isn’t worth the effort it takes to laugh. but if i were honest with myself, with anyone; i live for the parts that should be red flags.
i think of you pulling on my chain like a dog. your bruising grip on me in the club whenever i spoke to another man.
i tell her i’m the person everyone calls when people even remotely in my life have emergencies. i’d still pick up for everyone i haven’t spoken to since august. every time a spammer calls i answer anyway.
i couldn’t say what drives me to that. that desperate desire to be wanted. like an animal in a shelter, babe, i’ll do whatever if it means you’ll take me home and hold me close til you get tired of being what i need you to be.
‘it doesn’t take much,’ i tell her. i fall easy when i deem it worth it and boy do i fall hard.
i wanna say you’re different. some part of me says i knew it’d be like this, the opposing side says something about how i call bullshit on everything as some type of avoidance.
she tells me i’m a commitment-phobe. that i hide from everything except her son, who is the only human being on the planet who has never asked a damn thing from me.
(when i say im a dad, i mean for a year and 11 months i was the pseudo parent for a terminally ill toddler. i still mean it because now it’s been two years and change since i’ve been a functional parent for a kid who has no real mother or father.)
mostly because he lacks the words to tell me he needs more. everyone needs more than i can humanly give but i still give it willingly. who cares if you’re sucking the marrow from my discarded bones. i wasn’t using it anyway, right? i’m sure you need it more.
it’s easier for me to tell my secrets here. where i’m hiding in plain sight and nothing i say or do particularly matters so long as i string words together in ways people can shoehorn themselves between.
all this to say you do it different. it’s easier for me to detach myself completely and be honest in the way i know im supposed to when you’re a couple hundred miles away and more in love with the idea of who i am than the real self that always lurks just out of your line of sight.
you know i’m mean. cold hearted. some deep seated issues with intimacy buried so deep it’ll take one of my parents dying to ever actually address in any real or meaningful way. you hold my hand in the club anyway.
somehow you recognize the far off and terrified look in my eyes when my disconnected brain actually does the math on how many people i’m in a room with.
and you ask if i’m ok. you take me somewhere quiet enough where i can hear myself think and you hold onto my fragile wrists just tight enough to remind me that i live on this planet with every other bastard with two hands and a heart.
somehow you recognize a different lilt in my forced laugh when i’m poking fun at myself and theres something behind your eyes that betrays a level of care i never expected or saw coming from you. you look me in the eyes just enough, with just enough callousness that i do believe you when you tell me, perhaps begrudgingly, that you care whether i live or die. that you like my company.
she tells me you’re perfect and i suspect for a moment that she also knows me better than i’d like to acknowledge. i understand from her perspective. i understand from my own if im being fully honest. she says that the way you spoke about me, half asleep and half drunk, wrapped around me like you’d die if you took your hand off of me- no chance you thought this was anything other than exactly what i needed.
in spite of it all. every year that’s passed, every poorly received joke, every drunk phone call, you’re still here.
she says you were obviously waiting. that you aren’t disappointed by what you got after all of it.
but you’re here. after everything you’re still here. your head on my chest and my hands on your shoulders and i don’t want to ever be anywhere else.
i can’t shut up about you, you know. i play coy with my family. tell them i’ve got a musician friend in the desert with curly hair and a penchant for off color jokes. tell my friends i need to make you my wife and refuse to elaborate when they inevitably ask for details. you know better than anyone i like keeping my secrets.
somehow you’ve managed to figure me out. the important bits at least. the parts i try my hardest to hide. there will be time for everything else later.

ON: SPAMMERS, RE: MUSIC-BASED POSTS
POSTED THIS EARLIER venting about spammers who accost people who post about music here:
but that doesn't quite illustrate it well enough
SO HOW'S ABOUT A VIDEO MONTAGE (sorta, if you can call a video of a screen recording a montage)
song is mine btw, more info underneath this Spotify link to it (tho you can find it & all my other stuff anywhere you can find muics):
this ain't even the half of it. avoid ctkvi/"the creative studio"/ongawdclub/canmking/whatever other sockpuppets they may have. most of these blogs will have the same sorts of posts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and they get people by spamming likes and reblogs of anyone who mentions music, music videos, Spotify, graphics, etc.
Tumblr media
AND I'M SURE THIS POST WILL ATTRACT MORE OF THESE "PEOPLE" (read: algorithms poorly pretending to be sentient beings) TOO
but, you know what? that's fine. that'll just make it easier for me to block them. and they'll be proving my point! bonus!!!!
anyway here's another song of mine, the latest single i put out (another one coming soon). they can spam? i can shamelessly self-promote.

"How To Counter My Weapon!"
I wanna start a trend where we say what our main weapons are, and then immediately give advice on how to counter it based on our playing experiences! Not sure how it'll catch on, but I'll start!
[Disclaimer: As per everything I post, this is just my experiences/thoughts/etc, and not set in stone as law! Take what helps you, and leave what doesn't!]
If you're interested, read on! Feel free to reblog, or just make your own post in the same format!
--
HOW TO COUNTER MY WEAPON: The Flingza Roller!
The Flingza Roller is a tricky weapon! With two different swinging styles, you could say it's a neat fusion of a standard Splat Roller and a Dynamo with a little less power. The vertical flick has very impressive range! However, it is also very weak and often takes a good 2, 3, or even 4 hits to actually take someone out.
How to counter it? Take advantage of the Vertical flick flaw: BEING S L O W
I have been taken down by SO many bowled bombs and straight up ambushes because I was in the middle of a vertical flick! I can't move or react well during it, so it is an opportune time to take me out.
Also like with most rollers, if you outrange us, you already have a solid chance. After all, we don't have a throwable bomb...We have Ink Mines!
--
HOW TO COUNTER THE INK MINE: Ink well! Just be careful, especially of common paths of travel! We like to put them in places we can catch you trying to sneak. Map awareness is key! We also make an animation setting one down, so if your eyes are sharp, you may be able to catch us in the act and know -exactly- where it is.
--
HOW TO COUNTER TENTAMISSILES (YES REALLY): As much as the community hates them, they CAN be avoided easily if your map awareness is strong!
My #1 rule is NEVER group up with your teammates too close! That's a recipe for me to get a double, triple, or in very rare cases, an entire team wipe in one fell swoop! On maps like Eeltail, don't be afraid to go under the bridge for cover! (Just make sure one of your teammates aren't up there) If missiles are on just you, just pick a path and move away carefully! If it's on everyone, see where your teammates are scattering first and move -away- from them the best you can.
Sadly sometimes they may run towards you in panic; can't do much about that. Keep an eye on my special icon and have a plan of escape ready! We are also vulnerable while LAUNCHING missiles, so if you are close enough already, run in and take us out!!
In the right hands, Flingza is adaptable! In my experience, 90% of us mostly use it as an inking/support/tentamissile spammer...But if they're like me, who also uses it to be aggressive as a regular roller (and swap playstyles as needed), be careful how you approach! If given enough ink to move in, a Flingza can rush right in and start slammin' down on multiple people.
Blasters, you are my nightmare, as one shot at my feet and I'm basically stuck /dies
That's all the advice I have for now! Good luck!

About your tf2 post from earlier, I have some inane ramblings for you:
TF2 became insular, and thus excessively edgy as a result - I guess normie deterrence? - about a year or two ago, although that culture only really spread out so far in recent months.
And of course insular gamers have really one thing they can use to drive people away. Which is of course, slurs.
Irony is that tf2 has been hitting all time player peaks recently. Though this begs the question, how many of those are bots?
I actually came back because there's no bots weirdly enough, or at least there's so few on the servers I play on that I honestly cannot tell. Sure there's a few bind spammers that might be bots, but that's just kinda the nature of FPS games. Besides, I just play 2fort so it's like. oh no now I have to take sewers to avoid the robo-sniper.

any tips for starting a new writing blog?
hello dear anon!! oh my days it’s been so long since i started mine i cant really remember.
i would say remember that the first post is always nerve-wrecking and it’s ok to be nervous!! and subsequently the lack of notes since people wont know you and your style right off the bat! it’s ok to feel discouraged when you arent getting much attention too, since you are a newly established blog. the algorithm on tumblr sometimes sucks too :/
to me its personal preference but i like to have some semblance of a theme, or rather more of a post to consolidate everything that you post, not just your writings but also your faq, introductions, links, rules, etc. i usually look at a few writing blogs to see how they format things - everyone has their own ways of organising their pinned post and you can always mix and match to how you want to organise yours but it is NOT an invitation to plagiarise directly (yes, even if you change the colours of the theme to avoid suspicion). think of it with your own ideas and whatnot!!
NEVER. NEVER write on tumblr drafts on mobile. PLEASEEEE remember this. bc notifications appear on the bottom of the screen, sometimes the keyboard will go down and your finger might accidentally brush up against it. you will lose your work. it’s very very disheartening. another instance is also getting out of the app to fact check smtg for ur fic for eg and you come back to a previous post of your own from the notif ... and ur work is gone lol. writing on drafts is easier on desktop although i would say still have a safety net on google docs / notes / ur own writing notepad.
in regards to posting, if you are looking to fully be a sfw or nsfw blog then you can ignore this but i try to plan what kind of works i plan to post. if my smut works are doing well i try my hand at posting a fluff. smut works unfortunately will always get more notes imo, but dont get discouraged from writing fluff bc its still very fulfilling but the reality surrounding these genres are very distinct.
dont be afraid to delete asks or feel an obligation to answer every ask. at the end of the day it is ur blog and u choose what to put on it. if u get trolls and spammers just delete them or if u want to entertain them go ahead too.
be prepared to write out of your comfort zone. i know i said it’s ur blog and you choose what to put on it but sometimes i dont want to write the same trope with the same character and some of the requests allow me to improve my writing with characters im not too fond of for eg. i personally am still trying to push myself more, but it’s a good way to grow!
i like to attach a good amount of tags to my writing. the max on this site is 30 tags, i like to do around 15 or below that. to me it just looks less cluttered and neater. ofc w/ masterlists i usually just tag everything but for individual pieces i dont do a lot!
the writing community is to uplift too 💟 it isnt about who gets the most notes and interactions but rather to celebrate our love for the characters, so much so that we create stories out of thin air. be respectful and kind and dont be afraid to form mutuals! ignoring all the drama and craziness on tumblr sometimes it really is one of the best places to be at the height of your fandom!! enjoy anon!

can we have a list of the boring insurance links you send to hateful people?
going to be frank with you: i just get it randomly from google ! I literally just google "very detail dense insurance forums" or "obscure insurance agencies in *insert random country* " I don't get a lot of hate mail nowadays because I am trying to avoid starting conflict, so I figured this would be an easier solution than to have a mega-list. if it helps you feel better: here is a liability insurance template I found on google images ! enjoy!
Tumblr media
the ultimate goal with the insurance response is to send the most boring non-response you could ever reply with, So typically I just look for stuff that would cause my brain to hurt after 4 seconds ! in theory its supposed to shut down the hate spammers so they don't get satisfaction from bothering me. I have had people send fairly ablest things to me in the past and this is WAY better on my mental health than generating an angry response. no idea how effective it is. (and as silly as it is, I like to HOPE its helping me improve as a person instead of becoming another salty internet asshole) hope that helps! sorry I don't have a lot of insurance links to send!

As I write this, we are 13 hours away from the end of our first funding campaign. I say first because this will most certainly not be the last.
To say that the last two months have been draining would be the understatement of the year. I had no idea what running a funding campaign for a microscopic visual novel would be like, but it still somehow managed to defy my expectations.
So, let's wrap. I want to talk (vent) about the campaign — what are some good things we did, what are some things I'd like to avoid doing in the future? If I can help another small indie developer out with this, then that's the cherry on top.
PART I: THE GOOD THINGS
I want to start by focusing on what we did right. To start, at the time of writing, we raised a total (before IGG's split) of $390. I am so very grateful for every cent, especially when I consider it's $390 less that I have to pull out of my paychecks to make this thing happen.
I think making the campaign flex funding was one of the best decisions I could've made here. In no reality were we going to actually raise $10,000 in our first campaign. So, while we don't have enough to actually make the full game right now, we have enough to get the ball rolling and make *something,* which is a lot better than nothing.
I also must thank the few creators who took the time to make content based on the demo. It was very fun to see other people play. I do wish there were more, but I'll take what I can get right now.
PART II: THE BAD THINGS
I have to admit, because this series is so important to me, I have always had a problem accepting that very few others care about it. So, because I can honestly say we have a fantastic product with brilliant art and a compelling storyline, it hurt knowing that very few others seemed to agree.
In all reality, I know it's less that they disagree and more that they have no idea we exist. This is valid. Where I struggle is knowing how to efficiently let them know we exist without spending my weight in gold in ad revenue, which isn't even guaranteed to work.
All this to say ... we had a total of 17 downloads of the free demo. I would scream to the heavens that we had a free demo, and yet I still had people telling me they had no idea we had a demo. I don't want to think the worst of people but at some point I have to ask if it's my communication skills or their lack of attention span.
I also think we had no business trying to raise $10,000 on our first campaign. I mean, sure — there are some creators who can pull that off, but I have never been one of them. It doesn't make sense that would change now. I should've made the goal closer to $500 or $1000, because then it'd at least look like it was closer to success.
ALSO — the spam. THE SPAM. I never imagined how thick the spam would be; how many people I would have to block on FB to the point where I now second guess myself any time the Chaos Texture page gets a direct message. It could be someone genuinely wondering how we're doing. It's more than likely, however, a spammer.
In any case, if you were to ask me if I would do this again I would laugh and tell you 'no.' It's not worth the mental anguish, the stress and the constant, unending self doubt. I almost burned bridges that I didn't mean to burn during these two months, and it was all because I got in my own head and let doubt persevere. No. I may open up a Patreon for the studio, but ... the next time I'll even consider doing a crowdfunding campaign via KickStarter or IndieGoGo is when we have an established fanbase, and even then I'll be cautious.
Tumblr media
In any case, stay tuned for future development updates as they're made.
Sincerely,
James David Herd Creative Director || Chaos Texture

Learn How To Make A Blog Work For You
Human society and communications have changed permanently because of the existence of the Internet. The Internet allows websites and blogs that display content showing peoples' opinions on various topics, letting them build an online following of others. If that sounds intriguing, then keep reading to see the benefits of blog posting.
If you don't want to create your own blog from scratch, use a blogging service. Running A Blog services come in two main varieties. Hosted blogging services store your blog on the company's servers, while installed services run on your own domain. Some writing a blog services, such as WordPress, can be used in both ways. Whether you choose hosted or installed, using a running a blog service lets you update your blog with a convenient control panel.
Use the correct spam filter for comments. If you require registration to comment, a CAPTCHA on the registration page is usually sufficient to keep spammers away. If you allow anonymous comments, an "advanced CAPTCHA," that is, one that asks the user for "the number of hours in a day" or something similar is usually enough. Avoid services like Akismet, as these produce lots of false positives.
Write about what you know. When writing a blog, in particular, it is important to write about what you actually know and understand. You could, of course, put a spin on a blog by talking about how you really don't understand something. For the most part, however, your readers are going to be interested in your expertise and knowledge.
Be sure to use images when you're making posts. The power of a well-chosen image to add interest and clarity to your subject matter can greatly improve the effectiveness of your writing. This is particularly true about blogging. Images are sometimes able to communicate with your viewers more than words alone. This is why you should include images as often as possible.
To help you get more traffic to your blog and keep up with the latest trends, you should focus some of your attention on submitting your post and blog links to social bookmarking sites. Sites such as Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, are all great places where you can submit your blog links.
Running A Blog is accessible to anyone with a presence on the internet, but only those who learn to use it effectively will reap the maximum benefits from this exciting new tool. Apply the insights you've learned here to get your writing a blog efforts off to a good start and then, cultivate your skills on a daily basis.

That's all spot on, and another way to look at it is to realize that spam/anti-spam is an arms race that's been going on for awhile now. This isn't the first rodeo for the spammers, or for Tumblr trying to stop them. Strategies have to continously evolve on both sides.
Like, imagine you make a simple spambot for a site that has never been spammed before. You do the absolute minimum, because it'll work: you have a program that creates an account and starts posting/dm-ing spam as fast as it can, until it gets banned, then you make a new account and repeat.
Well, the first thing Tumblr is gonna do is try to detect your spam accounts by how they differ from real user accounts. One way they might do this is by flagging any account that makes more than X posts in the first 24 hours. Tumblr can relatively easily do statistics like "for this group of presumably real accounts, what's the usual amount of posting they do immediately after creation?" and spot accounts that do stuff way outside the average.
Like if a new account is created and posts 200% more than the average new user, they might just be heavily cafinated and/or have adhd. But if they post 20,000% more than the average, they're either Posts Georg who lives in a cave, or they're a bot.
So the spammers know Tumblr is doing this, because their strategy stops working. They start getting autobanned or flagged in minutes or hours, instead of days or weeks.
So, their next step is to try to avoid this spam-detection. Maybe they make an account and leave it idle for a week before they go into full spam mode.
And now Tumblr notices the spam problem is back, looks into the accounts being reported as spam, and figures out they're waiting before going spam-mode. OK, so what about instead of starting the timer from account creation, we start it at time of first post? That'll get them.
Back to the spammers, they change strategy again. Instead of waiting and going spam mode, they start in a "fake posts mode". Just post some stolen or auto-generated content, but slowly, for a week. Then go spam mode.
And so on and so forth. Both sides have to keep up, or they'll be ruined by the other side getting too far ahead.
Fun fact: this is also a concept in evolutionary biology, called "The Red Queen Hypothesis", about how species can't "win" evolution. You have to always keep evolving, because you're in competition with other species. If you stop evolving and the animals that eat you don't, they'll get better at catching you until you die out. Or if you stop and your prey doesn't, they'll find a way to escape being eaten until you all starve. Similarly with parasites: you have to keep evolving new anti-parasite mechanisms or your parasites will keep getting better at infecting you.
It's called the Red Queen Hypothesis after a line in Through the Looking Glass (aka Alice in Wonderland), from the Red Queen:
Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place.
And that's really a perfect summation of this kind of situation: you always have to be working as hard as you can, because everyone else is, and you die if they get too far ahead of you.
Look I know everyone is getting the porn bot follows but like .. what's are they even for? What's the point of them? What are they trying to accomplish?

Free Disposable Number and Temp Mobile Number: The Ultimate Solution for Privacy
What is a Free Disposable Number?
A free disposable number is a temporary phone number that can be used for a short period, typically for one-time verification, communication, or online registration. These numbers are not tied to your personal information and disappear after use, offering a simple yet effective way to maintain privacy. Many people use these numbers when they want to avoid giving out their real phone numbers online.
One of the main reasons people choose disposable numbers is to protect their privacy and prevent unwanted marketing calls or spam messages. When signing up for online services, forums, or apps, the last thing you want is to have your phone number exposed to third parties. With a disposable number, you can keep your personal number safe while still gaining access to the services you need.
The Advantages of Using a Temp Mobile Number
A temp mobile number serves the same purpose as a disposable number, but it’s often seen as more versatile. Temp mobile numbers can be used for various short-term communications, such as receiving OTPs (One-Time Passwords), registration confirmations, or even temporary conversations without revealing your actual number. The primary advantage of using a temp number is that it offers a quick and easy way to interact without compromising your personal data.
Some of the most common uses of a temp mobile number include:
Avoiding Spam: By using a temporary number, you ensure that your primary phone number is not exposed to potential spammers.
Online Marketplace Transactions: When buying or selling on online marketplaces like Craigslist or eBay, a temp number ensures you can still communicate with the other party without disclosing your real number.

Some platforms may still track usage data or use the number for marketing purposes. It’s essential to read the terms and conditions of the service to understand how your data will be handled.
