In 1975, North Korean ambassador to Australia crashed his official Mercedes-Benz while drunk driving. Knocking on the door of the nearest house looking for help, the ambassador was aghast to find the door opened by none other than the South Korean ambassador.
Having immediately fled the scene on foot, the next morning the North Koreans visited a local Mercedes dealer in an attempt to buy a replacement car. This did not go well however as - after picking a car - the North Koreans were told they would have to wait a few weeks for a delivery, as the display car had already been bought by the South Korean ambassador. There was much screaming.
Days later, without telling anyone, the North Koreans abruptly abandoned their embassy and fled back to Pyongyang.

Cost Of Underpinning A House Australia - A Comprehensive Overview
Whether you’re looking to purchase a new home, renovating your existing one or just want to improve the stability and strength of your foundation, you may be wondering how much underpinning a house Australia costs. After all, it is an expensive undertaking that needs to be done properly.
Underpinning A House Cost – A Comprehensive Overview
There are multiple reasons why your house foundation might need underpinning, from deterioration or subsidence to poor building techniques from the past. Regardless of the reason, it’s a big job that requires professional help.
Underpinning is a major construction process that involves the excavation of soil beneath your property to support its structure and reinforce it. It can be expensive, but it’s the best solution if you notice signs of damage.
The cost of underpinning a house Australia will depend on the method used and whether it’s a simple repair or a full-scale overhaul. Some methods are more costly than others and your chosen underpinning contractor should discuss all possible options with you before quoting a price.
Chemical underpinning, on the other hand, is a cost-effective alternative to traditional concrete underpinning. This is because it’s less labor-intensive and involves a less invasive method than concrete.
Resin injection is a common method of underpinning that uses resin-based products to seal cracks and weaken foundation walls. The resin binds together soil particles that have been loosened by water or other environmental factors.
This method is particularly effective on sandy soil. However, it’s not suitable for all properties.
Other types of underpinning include mass concrete and pier and beam. The latter is more suitable for large foundations, while the former is ideal for smaller ones.
The price of underpinning a house in Australia will vary depending on the location, condition and size of your foundation and the underpinning method that you choose. Generally, a structural engineer will be required to assess your property before any underpinning work is carried out.
Structural engineers often provide additional services including a report on the condition of the existing foundation, an engineering report on how to fix the problem and advice on which underpinning method is best for your home. They can also advise you on the need for other repairs, such as regrading your property to drain water away from the foundation or installing drainage systems.
A structural engineer will also conduct a soil test to measure the soil’s strength and integrity. This is necessary because different kinds of soils can cause damage to your foundation.
Another option is to use a sophisticated underpinning technique called soil permeation grouting. This technology works by saturating the soil with microfine cement that is pumped into the hole through injection lances.
Underpinning a house is a major project, so it’s important to find an experienced and trusted underpinning contractor to get the job done. Make sure that your contractor will be able to deliver on their promises and that the price they quote is fair and reasonable.
Precise Restumping & Underpinning successfully maintains a reputation for delivering quality, reliable and sound services to clients all over New South Wales, with a licensed builder that personally oversee all works.

"You're So Much Alike." - [B.C.]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Where you meet his mother for the first time and capture a picture that you will treasure for years to come.
Warnings: None, just a lotta fluff.
Notes: Based on the photo above where Chris recreated his childhood picture w/ his mom.
Tumblr media
"When was this?" Your eyes turn to your boyfriend beside you and his head tips in your direction, eyes following only a moment later. A bright smile is plastered on his face as he was previously having a conversation with his mom to the opposite side of himself.
His teeth grit as his lips pull apart in a quiet hiss of thought. "Ah... Mm." His lips press together, brows furrowing as he looks at the picture. "Think I was.. four? Three? Three or four." He nods curtly, eyes drawing up to where you stare at him. ".... What?"
Your smile grows the longer you peer up at him. He doesn't seem to realize how absolutely adorable the photo currently in your hand is. "Nothing. I just love you."
Chan's eyes wander over your own before he giggles, his hand falling to rest on your knee. "I love you too, sweetheart."
"Oh, I was so young here." His mother reaches for the photo, gently taking it from your hand to look down at it. The look on her face seems to say without words that it brings back wonderful memories she couldn't ever forget.
"Please," You murmur, catching her attention with a soft smile. "You look the exact same, Mrs. Bang."
It was kind of his mother to offer to show you baby photos of him. You hadn't necessarily expected it during your first meeting with her, but she seemed more than excited to show you the silly pictures of Chan in the bath, or pictures of him covered in birthday cake when he was two years old. He'd gotten a bit embarrassed at the bath pictures, begging his mother not to show them to you before she countered back with; "What? She's seen it all before anyway!"
And you couldn't argue with that, laughing along as you squeeze his hand in your own. "I mean, she isn't wrong."
You felt incredibly lucky to be able to tag along on this opportunity - visiting Australia with Chan for the first time. The majority of the day is spent relaxing at his family home and getting to know his family; Unfortunately Lucas and Hannah are with their friends, which you can't fault them for, but you get to spend the day with his parents. And Berry, of course.
Their pup seems to take a love to you, following you around instead of sticking to Chan. She sits at your feet while you lean against the kitchen counter and watch his father cook lunch for the group of you; And she treads only a foot or two behind you as you move to dance with Chan's mother in the dining room to the soft music that plays through the house. The room is filled with laughter and the soft banter she exchanges with you on how she may have to steal you from her son with just how charming you are.
Lunch is quiet and soothing, bodies filled with warm home cooked food and Chan's mother asking just how the two of you met - where you saw yourself in ten years, what kind of career you were interested in, and how you felt about her son. Typical first meeting types of questions - But, she seems happy with all of your answers and while you aren't looking, shares an exchanged glance with her son that is telling him to marry you.
It ends as you excuse yourself from the table and move to help Chan at the sink, washing the dishes from preparing the meal and drying them off as he handed them to you. He smiles at you helping him out, about to tell you to go shoo so he can take care of it himself and let you relax. His eyes wander in your direction as you suddenly ask if his father needs another wife - widening in surprise and whispering a soft, "Excuse me?" in shock.
"What? He's literally you but a little older!"
"Are you tryna marry my dad right now--"
-
His father excuses himself from the home about an hour later, something work related beckoning him away. His mother suggests a walk around the park Chan use to run about in when he was little and you eagerly agree, wanting to see more of the local scenery. It's pleasant, a breeze wafting through your hair and brushing over your shoulders as you go. Berry's leash is held careful but firm in your palm and she treads nearby, tail wagging in excitement at just being out.
Without being fully aware of it, you'd fallen behind the mother-and-son duo after being caught up in admiring the nature around you. As your eyes draw back to the pair ahead, you stop walking and Berry takes a few more steps before halting as well. She turns to look up at you in curiosity and when you crouch down, she comes closer to rub her nose against your arm. Hand digging in your pocket, you pull out your phone and let the pair continue walking without disturbing them. Lifting your phone to snap a photo, the picture on your screen looks lovingly familiar to one you had seen earlier.
Chan seemed extremely grateful when you showed him the picture later on - and his mother even more so that evening. His father peeked over her shoulder before gently giving the woman a shake of admiration, hugging her around the waist shortly after. "Jessica, you don't look a day over thirty." And she laughs, swatting at his arm.
Your eyes dart to Chan's and he blinks, meeting your gaze a moment later. Your eyes narrow. "Why am I just now finding out that your mom's name is Jessica?"

would you be able to write a cute leah x reader fic where reader gets ill and leah being the good girlfriend she is takes care of reader till readers better
i’ve got you - leah williamson
leah williamson x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
description: in which you don’t listen to your girlfriend and now you have to deal with the consequences
warnings: mentions of sickness
a/n: we love a comfort sick fic!! thank you so much for the request, enjoyyyyyy ❤️❤️
⋆ ★ ⋆ ★ ⋆ ★ ⋆ ★ ⋆
you and your girlfriend, leah were soulmates and everyone knew it. it all started when you joined arsenal when you left australia to join the wsl.
leah was the first one to come up to you all those years ago, a friendly smile on her face with a gentle extension of her hand the moment you stepped foot inside the door.
“hey, I’m leah, we haven't met officially” she said almost sheepishly, her cheeks lightly dusting with pink as her eyes shone into yours. you smiled back with an equally bashful smile.
you've always admired leah from afar when you played against each other, though, you never went up to her out of your own nervousness.
“hi, I’m (y/n)” she smiled because she already knew your name, she’d kept it in the back of her mind ever since the first match you played against each other.
you were breathtakingly gorgeous, and also a player she found difficult to mark when you would approach from the midfield. you were in her mind rent-free, her admiration for you not subtle at all.
“if you ever wanted to..uh, be shown around the area, maybe we could get a coffee or something?” she clears her throat after the sentence left her lips, anticipating rejection from your blank stare, only you surprised her when you started to giggle slightly.
“i’d love to, how about tomorrow?” you suggest, your sweet smile melting her heart as you maintained eye contact with her, “tomorrow is great!” she grinned, wincing slightly at how quick and eager she had responded, but you made all those thoughts wash away.
“its a date” you winked, only leaving her when kim called you over for some introductions to your new teammates. leah’s heart was about to implode, she couldn't believe it. you and her were going on a date.
and fast forward 5 years, she still couldn't believe how far you both had gotten. now dating, moved in together and happier than you ever could be.
you and leah were polar opposites when it came to the mornings. your girlfriend loved a good sleep in, she loved it so much she would beg you for 5 minutes more without a fail.
you, however, have always been a morning person, preferring to wake up earlier to have more time to get ready and do odd tasks around the house.
leah admired this quality about you, she loved to watch you move around so effortlessly, looking extremely beautiful as you presented her a cup of tea as soon as she woke up, made perfectly just how she liked it.
though what confused her about this morning, is that you were still in bed when she woke up. leah being up before you was extremely rare and only really happened on her favourite days of the year: your birthday, your anniversary and christmas.
you were cuddled up by her side and she smiled instantly when she looked down at you beside her, though it fell into a frown when she noticed the slight increase in your body heat.
you were always the perfect amount of warm to her but today you were a little too warm and leah didn't feel right about it. she moved some stray hairs on your face, your eyebrows in a slight furrow showing your discomfort.
it was until she heard a little sniffle coming from you that her alarm bells began to ring, her girlfriend was sick. she gently peeled herself from you, moving into the bathroom to find a washcloth, wetting it with cool water, wringing it out and promptly making her way back to you.
she gently rolled you on your back and placed the cool cloth on your forehead, hoping it would bring down your body temperature. leah shook her head as she watched you sleeping, knowing this was because you refused to wear your jacket in training yesterday.
she chuckled remembering how insistent you were fine. she was excited to give you a look that just screamed ‘i told you so’. though, she put it aside for now. instead, she left the room quickly, calling staff members to let them know you both were not coming in today.
you slightly stirred when the bed dipped slightly, leah sitting beside you watching you sleep. you suddenly sat up right, frantically looking at the clock and realising you were both going to be late for training.
“babe, why didn't you wake me up?” you croak, attempting to get out of bed before leah stops you, “baby girl, you're not going anywhere” she said with a stern tone, her hands resting on your shoulders as she gently pushed your back to rest on the backboard of the bed.
“lee, we can't miss training, the game’s coming up” you rebuttal, sniffling as you looked at leah in an attempt to not look as ill as you could.
“we’re not going to training lovey, you're sick” she exhales through her nose, squeezing your cheek affectionately as you look at her with a dumbfounded expression.
“i'm not sick” you scoff, arms coming together and crossing over your chest. leah raises her eyebrows amusingly, her stubbornness was rubbing off on you and she wasn't sure whether to be proud or concerned.
“baby, you're sick, you have a fever and you've got the sniffles” she smiles, her hand moving to rest on your blanketed thigh, “i feel fine to go to training” you groan, avoiding eye contact because you knew she would catch on to your lie, your throat extremely scratchy as you tried to hold in a cough.
“really?” leah said cheekily, her finger hooking under your chin to make eye contact again, you pause for a moment. “yeah” you say simply, unable to stop yourself from sniffling,
“my girl, you are sick and we are staying home, end of discussion” she grins mischievously, standing up and moving towards the end of the bed.
she gives you a shit eating grin before grabbing both of your ankles, you yelp slightly when you feel her pull you down so you were laying down again, your head resting on the pillow.
“leah cathrine!” you laugh slightly, hearing your girlfriend giggle along with you, “that’s me, gorgeous” she grins up at you, moving around the bedroom to put on some sweats and a hoodie.
“i’m popping out for a second, lovey, i just need to get some bits for us” she kisses the crown of your head despite your refusal, “i'll be back, okay?” she affirms,
“i love you” you give her a weak smile, leah smiling back sweetly without missing a beat, “i love you too” she coos, almost sprinting out of the door to get to the shops.
she came back about 30 minutes later, struggling to open up the door with all the bags she had in her hands.
when you heard the keys clank on the ground and several curse words escaping your girlfriend’s mouth, you trudged out of bed to open the door for her.
she exhaled in relief when she made it to the kitchen, thanking you with a kiss to the forehead before giving you a lecture after realising you weren't where you were supposed to be.
the only words you really comprehended were: “you should be in bed”, “i can't leave you for two seconds without you doing something you're not supposed to be doing”.
you couldn’t help but laugh when leah dropped all the bags on your kitchen counter, stopping when she gave you a stern expression. "did you buy the whole shop?” you grinned, a little cough escaping your throat that leah winced at.
“no, missy” she tutted, “i got medicine that the pharmacist recommended, extra tissues, soup, other dry foods, tea and other little things” she shrugged after she verbalised her list to you.
your facial expression visibly softened when leah finished, something that your girlfriend noticed and her cheeks dusted with pink at how affectionately looking at her.
“thank you” you say softly in awe, leah smiles sweetly at you, gently moving around the island to grip your hand, walking you into the living room. the couch was already prepared for you with pillows and your favourite blanket.
“you rest here and i'll make you something to eat” you raise your eyebrow at her and she rolled her eyes, “shut up” she chuckles, turning on the tv for you and slowly bringing over medicine, tissues, cough drops, anything she could get to help you.
after you ate, leah made you move over so she could slot behind you, even though you begged her not to so she didn’t get sick but she refused.
she cuddled up to you, letting you rest on top of her while her hands rubbed up and down your waist gently.
“have you felt sick just today?” leah asked you softly, “i felt sick last night” you admit in a guilty voice, “baby, why didn't you tell me?” her voice laced with concern as you rested your chin on her chest to look up at her.
“I didn't want to bother you” you mumbled, her hand cupping your cheek gently, making you lean into her touch, “you're never a bother, my love, never” she says firmly, telling you she was serious.
you nod, moving your head slightly to kiss her palm. she gives you an affectionate smile, her hand moving to the back of your head to pull it down to rest on her chest again.
“let's have a nap, baby” she whispers, “i've got you” her free hand rubbing comforting circles on your back, sending you to sleep in no time.
she smiles when she feels your deep breaths brush against her collarbone, the way your body perfectly fits against her own as your body rises and falls.
she loved you so much she couldn't believe it. and she knew you felt the same because she felt it everyday. as she watched you sleep, she knew she would do anything you needed from her, and that was a promise she intended to keep.
about a week later, you and leah returned to training again, many of your teammates excited to see that you'd finally recovered. and leah was happy to see your cheeky self was back to normal when people asked how you were.
you lovingly stating that ‘leah had cured you’. she’d roll her eyes every time you said it but you both knew she loved it. her pink cheeks never gave her that animosity she wanted.

Skydiving.
Tumblr media
word count - 1.4k
The camera then cut to a video of you walking up a grass hill towards a big house, you were wearing a white play suit, your hair tied up in a pony tail as you fiddled with your wedding ring, something that you often did when you were nervous.
You walked up to the house, walking through it and letting your feet lead you outside.
You peered your head around the corner, making eye contact with all of the contestants.
Oti Mabuse,
Tulisa,
Danny Jones,
Dean McCullough,
And Jane Moore.
“Ahh!” Tulisa ran towards you the second she saw you and embraced you in a hug. You recognised all of the people in front of you which you were glad about.
You had met Tulisa a few times over the years, a few times when Harry had performed on the x-factor.
“It’s so nice to see all of you,” you grinned, after Danny Jones brought you in for a hug.
“Can’t believe Harry Styles wife is stood right in front of me,” Dean couldn’t wrap his head around it. “— think you can give him my number when we get out of here?”
You laughed, embracing him.
Danny smiled, before bringing everyone around him into a hug.
“Campmates!”
The sound of helicopters in the air brought you out of the hug, you lifted your head up, linking arms with Dean.
“What is that noise?” He asked, mouth falling agape.
“It’s a helicopter!” You exclaimed, pointing your hand up into the air. “— holy cow!”
Soon enough, six helicopters could be seen.
“Six?” Danny widened his eyes. “Are you having a laugh?”
Jane pointed to one of the helicopters. “It’s Ant and Dec!”
The six camp mates started jumping up and down, you had to admit that you were a little bit excited.
“Six helicopters,” Danny could hardly contain his excitement as he counted all the people around him. “One, two, three, four, five, six!”
It felt like something out of a movie as the double act walked towards the six of you, you gulped.
“Here comes trouble!” Oti gasped.
“Look at you, you all look gorgeous,” Ant grinned and held his hands out.
Dec smiled. “— welcome to Australia!”
“Now take in all that’s around you,” Dec continued, an evil glint to his eye. “— because you won’t be here long.”
You gulped, one foot kicking the heel of your other foot out of nerves.
Was it too late to back out?
You and Dean exchanged a look.
“You all about to take part in a race to become the first leaders of camp,” the shorter host began explaining. “— down there are six helicopters, each for one of you.”
“Oh god,” you eyes widened slightly. “I know where this is going.”
Ant pointed at you all. “Before you take off you might want to grab yourselves a parachute! Because you’ll all be skydiving out of your chopper!”
Danny started pumping his hands up into the air.
“Someone’s excited.”
Danny let out a laugh. “— I don’t know why I just thought I’d celebrate.”
That got you laughing.
“Once you landed, you’ll meet your other celebrities.” Ant continued. “— you will then have to pick a celebrity to partner up with.”
Dec instructed. “The pair who win the race will become the first leaders of camp and that comes with perks.”
“You’ll be sleeping in the comfort of the leaders lodge and will be exempt from the first bush tucker trial.”
Ant then remembered something as he turned to his best friend. “I’ve just realised we’re terrible hosts, we haven’t offered them a welcome drink.”
“I’m fine thanks.” You smiled, making everyone laugh at you.
Just as you said that, a waiter came walking over, holding a tray of drinks in his hand.
“The welcome drinks are not very welcoming,” Dec expressed, “— this is blended bull’s penis and fish eye with vomit fruit garnish.”
Oh god, you were going to be sick.
“The order in which you finish your drinks will be the order in which you jump out of the helicopter, which will then result in the order you pick your partner.”
The six camp mates then walked over to pick up one of the glasses and you made the grave mistake of smelling the contents.
Your never doing that again.
“The race is about to begin,” Ant stated. “Ready…steady…go!”
You placed the vomit fruit up to your mouth and chewed on it as fast as you possible could, your eyes were closed, focusing on anything but the food in your mouth.
You then brought the drink up to your mouth, drinking through the straw, you pulled away and gagged, nothing came up but you were close.
When you looked up, you noticed Danny was almost done and Tulisa was close behind him.
There was no way that you were going to come last.
The straw came back in connection with your mouth and you drank like your life depended on it.
Danny finished his drink first, placing his drink on the table, and Tulisa came third, followed by you in third, Jane in fourth, Dean in fifth and Oti in sixth.
The next think you knew, you were running down the hill towards the helicopters, a man with a parachute waiting for you.
Up, up and away.
Tumblr media
As Harry approached the beach area, was when he spotted a few other celebrities stood there.
“Harry!”Melvin exclaimed, running over to give the man a hug. “— long time no see!”
“Hi, how are you?”the singer asked, stepping away from the embrace.
“I’m good,” Melvin smiled. “You?”
Harry nodded his head as he fiddled with his wedding ring. “Yeah, m’good, tired but good.”
The next camp mate approached, it was Colleen Rooney.
So then everyone was there.
GK Barry,
Alan Halsall,
Barry McGuigan,
Colleen Rooney,
And Melvin Odoom.
“So this is it then?” GK asked, looking around at everyone. “— honestly im shitting it, not going to lie to you all.”
Suddenly a ringing sound became known to the celebrities, Harry pursed his lips.
“What’s that?” Colleen asked, hands on her hips.
“Shall we have a look?”
Alan leaned forward and hesitantly pressed the button, Harry stood there, eyebrows furrowed.
The ringing stopped.
“Celebrities…” it was Ant.
“How are you all feeling?”
“M’palms are sweaty.” Harry murmured, wiping them against his shorts.
He was wearing a pair of cream shorts with a white tank top with a matching cream top over the top.
“Well we can help with that because you are about to take part in a race to become the first leaders of camp and they will sleep in the leaders lodge and will be exempt from the first bush ticket trial.”
“However, the race has already began, five of your fellow celebrities will be skydiving down next to you and will be picking one of you to be part of the team.”
That was when Harry realised that one of those contestants would be his wife, and he knew for a fact that his wife was immensely scared of heights.
So scared that on the flight out of here, she was practically in his lap during the take off, he had to hold her down in the seat.
“Once your picked, you will then leave the beach and continue the race.”
Tumblr media
You were shitting it.
There was no way that you would be able to jump out of this helicopter.
Oh god.
Oh golly gosh.
The professional skydiver was sat behind you, attached.
You looked out of the window and watched as Danny exited the helicopter and shortly after Tulisa did the same.
Now it was your turn.
“Are you ready?”The skydiver asked, shimmying the two of you closer to the open door.
“I don’t think I can do it.” A start tear fell down your face as you contemplated the idea of skydiving.
And then your mind drifted to Harry.
What would he be saying to you if he was sat next to you.
“Y’got this m’sunshine.”
“M’so proud of you already.”
“Let’s do it.” You took a big intake of breath as you were shuffled even closer.
And when the light turned green you were propelled out of it and flipping through the sky.
A scream ripped through your chest.
But once you had stopped flipping, it was one of the most amazing things you had ever seen.
You were above the ocean, you could see things for miles.
“This is amazing!”you exclaimed, as you fell.
Danny was the first to land and he partnered up with Barry and Tulisa picked Alan.
When you landed, you fell softly but rough on the sand, you were quickly unclipped and you ran forward to pick a partner.
And when you approached, you got the biggest surprise of your life.
“H?”
He grinned up at you sheepishly whilst rubbing the back of his neck.
“Sunshine!”

can u do a fic where Australian r joins arsenal after playing with the tillies and moves in with Caitlin and Kyra while Steph lives next door. Just a lot of fluff I guess and maybe a bit of home sickness for r

Basically the Australian Arsenal girlies x Aussie reader
Moving to play for Arsenal from Australia was something that was not on your to-do list. You were barely an adult; just turning 18.
After showing off a bit during the World Cup, you got an opportunity to play for one of the best teams, and you took it. Mostly because Caitlin and Steph were able to convince you. Caitlin took you in because no one could trust you on your own.
Kyra joining was the cherry on top. For you at least. Not for Caitlin; you and Kyra were partners in crime. Going around and pranking everyone, clinging to Mini or Steph, and babysitting Harper together (with supervision).
Now she was a single mother, having to raise two toddlers. The only problem Steph had was the fact that you and Kyra loved to break into her home to eat all her food. She always regretted giving you a spare key.
————
Moving in with Caitlin and Kyra was chaotic. Katie would sometimes come over, so they always took over the living room while you and Kyra would either go bother Lessi or Steph.
It was chaos. From stealing each other's clothes to arguing over the fact that your clothes were being stolen. Then arguing over eating each other's left-overs, to the point where you guys had to start labeling your leftover food.
————
Something that annoyed Caitlin was yours and Kyra's dumb fights. They went on for hours, you two ignoring each other over a FIFA game or not being able to agree on a show or movie you want to watch together, then it would turn into a whole wrestling match and the winner got TV privilege.
The last wrestling match, your back hit the corner of Kyra's dresser, which sent you to the floor crying in pain. You decided it was time to retire from your wrestling career.
Kyra thought you were being dramatic, but you had a huge bruise to prove that you weren't. Even Steph thought you were being dramatic since you went crying to her house, but when she saw the bruise, she was speechless.
"How does that even happen" she said to herself, adding an ice pack to your bruise. "The worst part about this is Kyra gets a week of TV privilege; our number 1 rule is if you go crying to Steph, you're the biggest loser." You cried more.
Steph rolled her eyes. "I don't know how Caitlin puts up with this." "She's always at Katie's." You stared down her candy bowl and looked at her, silently asking for permission. She nodded, and you automatically grabbed it and started stuffing your face with candy.
When the pain went away and Steph put cream on it, you wanted to show off your cool bruise to everyone. You made Kyra take a picture of it and posted it to your story.
————
"Ay, let me see that bruise." Katie grinned at you as she entered the house, completely ignoring Caitlin's hug.
You showed her, and she decided to touch it. "Ay!" You yelled, pushing her. "Now that's a battle scar," Caitlin rolled her eyes at Katie's comment.
"I did it," Kyra said proudly, stuffing her face into the snacks Caitlin had out. "She's very proud of it." You muttered, Kyra took all the credit for your bruise after you posted your story.
————
"What are you doing during the break?" You asked Katie, "Visiting Caitlin's family." You hummed at that; you hadn't even thought about visiting your family.
They were disappointed when you left; your mom had even caused a whole argument when they were driving you to the airport about you basically abandoning them, and you were scared they would throw you out if you stepped a foot back into their house.
The girls noticed how silent you got after that. You stayed in your one little world, only speaking whenever they spoke to you. Not even Kyra letting you pick the movie cheered you up.
————
When Caitlin got back inside from walking Katie to her car, she stood in front of you, wanting to know what was wrong. She got more worried when she saw the tears in your eyes.
"Kyra, what did you do to her now?" Caitlin put her hands on her hips and looked at Kyra.
"I didn't do anything," Kyra defended, taking a bite of her food. They watched you for a couple more minutes; you just continued to pick at your food and focused on the TV.
They looked at each other worried, and Caitlin instructed Kyra to go get Steph, who was way better at this comforting thing.
"You okay kiddo?" Caitlin asked, sitting next to you and wrapping an arm around your shoulder. You nodded, refusing to look at her.
"Are you sure? Don't make me tickle the information out of you," she threatened, grinning as she saw you holding back a smile.
"I'm sure." Caitlin quickly pinned you down on the couch, starting to tickle your sides a bit, making you shriek and try to fight your way out of it.
"I miss Australia," you blurted out when she started tickling your neck. That was your weak spot. Caitlin let out a small 'oh'. "Why don't you go back? It'll be good to visit your family." That was the breaking point.
You started crying, Caitlin froze, not knowing what to do or say.
"Hey, don't cry," she tried, but that just made you cry harder. Caitlin pulled you into a hug, hoping Steph would get here soon.
————
"Where's the child?" Steph announced as she rushed inside. "Steph," you called out, reaching for her.
"It's okay kiddo," she comforted, pulling you into her lap and rubbing your back. She looked to Caitlin for an explanation.
"She said she misses Australia." "Told you it wasn't me this time," Kyra said, crossing her arms, still mad Caitlin accused her.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Steph asked you, "I miss my parents, but they're mad I left, and I'm scared they'll disown me if I show up again." They all frowned at that.
"Duckling, have you tried calling them?" Steph asked, you rolled your eyes at that nickname. Macca and Alanna loved to call you that since you loved to choose who you wanted to follow on a specific day.
"They've tried calling me, but I'm scared to answer." Caitlin grabbed your phone and handed it to you.
"Talk to them; if you keep avoiding this, it's going to get worse." You took the phone from Caitlin and nodded as you gained confidence. You quickly went outside to call your parents, hoping they would answer.
————
You came back in with a smile. "I'm going home," you said happily, making the girls smile. Kyra tackled you into a hug and cheered.
"This calls for a cheat day," she said as she started thinking about what to get. "Our cheat day was yesterday," Caitlin pointed out.
"I want nuggets," you told them. "Fine, two cheat days; we just can't let this get out to Leah, got it?" She looked at you and Kyra. You both nodded, and Kyra started showing you some places.
Steph took the three of you to the place you and Kyra agreed on, and with the way she kept scolding you and Kyra inside for 'bad manners' everyone watching thought you were her children, and Caitlin was just there for emotional support.
You loved your two guardians, and sometimes you loved Kyra as well.

Sosuke: ft. Rin
“We’re back,” you called out as you pushed the door shut with your foot before stepping out of your shoes as Rin did the same, settling his luggage down
You had just picked him up from the airport as he returned from Australia to come back home for a few months
With his mother and sister away on their own vacation, he waited for their return in just a few days so he could actually get into his house but for now, he would be staying with you and Sosuke for the time being
It was great timing since his flight got in at such an early or late hour but he was back just in time for dinner time
Sosuke stayed him, watching over S/N, giving you a break from baby duty for just a bit but stepping in, the house was silent although the lights were on
No crying, no talking or laughing or anything but the sound of the air conditioning running
“Hm? Where’s Sou?” You stepped in as Rin followed, leading him toward the living room and up the stairs to the guest bedroom
Until stepping into the living room you two could hear it
The snores of Sousuke
His massive body stretched and laid back in his recliner with S/N laid right in between his arm and his body at his side
You knew he must’ve been tired too since today was his day off as a swimmer but not as a father
He woke up at the brink of dawn to your son’s cries, changing and soothing his baby boy, trying to get him to sleep again but it only worked for a little until the little boy woke once again
Not to mention he stayed in the nursery too, doing his best to make his little boy sleep, resisting his own temptations to sleep but to no avail did he succeed
“Oh my gosh,” you smiled, voice getting softer as walked beside
They were so precious together
Sosuke was such a big man - a lot of beefy muscles on him and how wide he was
And right beside him was a baby as long as his forearm that laid right beside him in the exact same position
They laid still, both their left arm draped over their stomachs as they slept
Rin snapped a picture, for sure sending it to the two of you as you were too in the moment to even look at anything else, let alone your phone
“My baby boy,” you whispered as you knelt downside Sosuke, bringing your hand to the head of your son
And it was like your son just knew your touch, he stirred in his sleep, stretching his dainty body, letting out a big yawn as he opened his mouth as wide as he possibly could
He wriggled about in Sosuke’s arm, making him wake up too
“Oh, hey, you’re back,” he yawned, sitting himself up just a bit but not inclining the chair back up
The three of you all looked down to S/N as he wiggled about, doing his best to turn over onto his belly
But alas, it wasn’t easy since he was in between sosuke’s body and arm
Sosuke  lifted him up with ease and sat him down on his abdomen
You played about with him, kissing his chubby little hand, playing with his short hair that matched Sosuke’s
“So how was your flight?” Your husband looked up to him, striking up a conversation with his best friend
“It was fine, not long..” And they went on talking while you continued playing
They went on talking for about ten-ish minutes
But it was getting much too long
“I’m gonna go make dinner.” You stood, hungry enough, taking S/N off of Sosuke’s abdomen, letting him sit up
“And you,” you kissed your son’s mocha cheek and walked around the chair, approaching Rin
“Meet your Uncle, Rinnie~” You cooed as you handed off your son to the tall, lean swimmer
You disappeared into the kitchen as Rin looked at your son, the two of them already having a stare off
But it wasn’t long until Your curious son took hold of the red head’s semi-long hair, pulling at it
“Ow, ow, ow,” he tried to get the little boy off and away, but making sure that he didn’t hurt him at all
Sosuke just smirked in amusement before intervening, taking his son back into his arms
And it was like magic again - knowing his parents’ touch
He immediately settled down and instead of pulling onto anything or anyone, he took hold of Sosuke’s shirt sleeve, resting his head on his dad’s shoulders
“What a nice first interaction.” Rin rubbed his head as the two of them walked to the kitchen, joining you where you were

Makoto:
The day was gorgeous, the sun was bright with just a few clouds floating up there, the world so big as you sat on the balcony, smelling the sea mist blowing all the way up
A scent you grew up smelling here, alongside Makoto yet it never got old
There was always a refreshing yet also nostalgic feel that came with the mist
The wind blew through your clothes, against your skin as you sat on the small yet plush couch that was right outside your shared bedroom’s balcony, having one of the best views of the sea
You let the breeze carry your thoughts and mind, going where it would take you
Meanwhile
The living room was filled with the breeze of the ocean coming through the windows, making the sheer white curtains float up in the air, letting all the beautiful sunlight in
Makoto sat on the couch, playing with the babies as they rolled and crawled about on the deep couch that was just the right size for his tall and bigger structure
His two daughters cooed, crawling onto each go his thighs while his son, the youngest of the triplets, rest on his shoulder, holding onto his shirt as he insisted on being held in his father’s arms
He managed the three of them as the time approached for their nap time
“You guys ready to go sleepsies? Hm?” He hummed, though he knew that they couldn’t understand just yet, as he used his free hand to rub his daughter on his left’s back, switching hands holding his son to help his other daughter on the right rest, the both of them leaned back onto his thighs
The two of them were a little noisier as they cooed, than his son, who was already peacefully asleep in his arms
“Sleep well,” he spoke quietly to the three of them
He sat still in his seat, his eyes couldn’t decide who to stay on so he would look at all three of them, going back and forth
He was there when they were born and he knew how much bigger he was like his own dad in the family
But they were just so small
The sound of the distant waves filled the silent home as he rubbed his hand down his son’s back, hearing his short breaths right beside him
He moved his son, despite his sleepy protests, changing his position to rest on his lap, laying him down there
“Shh, it’s okay, buddy,” he spoke kindly, holding his legs and supporting his back to make sure he didn’t accidentally kick his daughter’s head
And then it hit him
Like, of course he knew that they were sleeping on him
But it hit him
He reached into his pocket, pulling out his phone and shot you a text
“I just realized that I can’t move.”
Reading his message sent mixed feelings - did something happen or was this a joke?
You headed back in, your eyes adjusting to the less bright room and you headed right downstairs
“Makoto?” You stepped right into the living room, approaching the couch where you could see his head and his shoulders right over the top edge of
“What do you mean you’re- awwwww,” you melted upon seeing the sight before you
Your three babies were asleep right on top of him, curled up in their own little balls
“How long have you sat like this? Do you need to use the bathroom?” You laughed quietly
“Haha, no, but I’ve sat here for I think like ten or fifteen-ish mintutes.”
“Aw, let’s take them upstairs to their actual beds,” you whispered as you quietly lifted one of your daughter’s off of him, letting her rest on your shoulder while he handed you your baby boy so he could lift your other daughter
Standing, he took your son back into his arms
But of course this didn’t go as smoothly
You baby boy began to cry in makoto’s arms, his cries sounding right into the stairs’ echo, waking your daughters too
Fortunately for you, the daughter you held only woke, whining, teary eyed without actually full on crying just yet
Getting to their shared bedrooms, the two of you worked to soothe your babies before setting them down into their cribs to sleep
Each with their own mobile with sea creatures spinning as a sweet lullaby played
As you looked down to the both of them lovingly, your felt a pair of hands snake around your waist and pulled you just until your back met his chest, his arms wrapping around as his chin rested on your chin
“We did that, Makoto,” you whispered, the two of you breaking out into a silent laugh at your random, but true, comment
“Yes, we did,” he hummed before turning, pressing a kiss to your neck

Having Liam as a boyfriend was like having another dog running about the house as if your current dog wasn’t bad enough. Liam always had so much energy that he basically just bounced about the house and against the walls, but you love him for it.
It was your last day in England before flying out to Australia for the Australian GP, and you had left Liam in the house to finish packing, deciding to take your dog out for a walk. Scrolling on your phone as you walk along the pavement.
Except your dog had spotted her rival. Why do they hate each other? No idea but they started barking at each other. Typically, a nice stroll turned into a barking match.  Before you knew it, there was a sharp pain shooting through your knee as you put your foot down on the ground.
Your dog, now far too interested in the world around allowed you to stand on the one leg and quickly pull your phone out, calling Liam. It felt like hours before he finally answered the phone, still singing as he answered
“Baby. I need you to come” you cried, not being able to hold back the tears from the sharp pain
“What happened?” He asked as there was shuffling on the other end
“I don’t know. It’s my knee though” you replied, wiping your tears away
“Where are you? I’m getting in the car now” He asked, and you sniffled
“I just got to the end of the road” you whispered, seeing his car quickly moving out the driveway and down the street. Pulling up in front of you, you were able to get your dog into the back of the car before taking the one hop into the front seat.
The tears fell down your face as you saw Liam’s sympathetic look pulling you straight into his arms
“It’s okay, baby. Let’s get you back to the house” Liam drove back to the house as you looked out the window, now really upset with yourself. Liam's hand rested on your leg as he parked the car in the driveway.
“I’m gonna take the dog into the house then come back for you, okay baby?” You nodded, taking your seatbelt off as Liam walked into the house with your baby. Pulling yourself out of the car was the worst decision you probably could have made as the sharp pain shot through your knee again.
“I told you I was gonna come back” Liam shook his head before sweeping you off your feet and carrying you inside the house
“I could have got in the house myself” you muttered, and he shook his head
“I’m gonna phone my trainer and get him to look at your knee” He placed you down on the couch, pulling your trouser leg up to look at your knee, carefully touching it
“Your hands are cold love” Liam chuckled, kissing your head as he wrapped you in a hug phoning his trainer. His trainer informed him that it was probably best to go get it x-rayed, especially if you are planning on leaving the country tomorrow morning.
That’s where you ended up that night. After spending the rest of the evening on the phone to the health board and having a video call, they sent you to the minor injuries unit at the closest hospital.
Now getting your knee touched and prodded by a random woman who was lovely you had to make your way from minor injuries to accident and emergency for an x-ray because apparently the x-ray department right next to minor injuries couldn’t be used. So limping your way across the hospital with pain shooting up your knee with every step you took.
Having the x-ray done was the least painful bit. Just laying there as the big white machine flashed and the woman placed your leg back down onto the table saying you were free to leave. Liam was waiting outside the x-ray room, wrapping his arms around you as soon as you stepped out of the room.
“I’m so sorry baby” you whispered, and he shook his head
“You have nothing to be sorry about. It’s just one of those things that happens” He rubbed your back
“Yeah but there’s this whole thing with your seat, and if we’re here waiting, then you might miss your flight” Liam shook his head, helping you back to minor injuries
“You come well before that seat. Red Bull have other drivers that can take my seat if needed but I promise that even if I’m put into that car then you’ll always come first” He kissed you as you stepped back into the examination room.
“So radiography says that there’s nothing there, so I’m just coming to take a look to make sure” She smiled as Liam gently rubbed your hand. You were sure this hurt more than all the bones you had previously broken throughout your life
“I can’t see anything on the x-ray. It’s just a pretty bad sprain. My advice would be to keep your hips, knees, and toes aligned, and I’ll give you some exercises to do” You nodded, looking up at Liam, who was standing next to you.
“I swear this hurts more than breaking a bone” you muttered, and he laughed, pressing a kiss to your lips. The doctor came back with the exercises, and Liam drove you both back home for a couple of hours before the flight tomorrow.
Tumblr media
Arriving at the paddock with all those cameras flashing was not a thing that you wanted to be doing while limping. Liam had his arm around your waist as you struggled to walk from the pain in your knee, still annoyed that they basically just told you to walk it off even though you physically couldn’t.
“What have you done?” Max asked as he caught up with you both
“Twisted my knee before flying out” you huffed, and he chuckled
“It hurts more than all my broken bones put together at the one time. I can’t walk up or downstairs. Liam’s got to walk like a fucking snail and we all know he’d rather be running ahead” You sighed as Liam walked over to sign a few things for fans leaving you stood on one leg
“How do you even twist your knee?” He asked, confused
“Stopping a barking match. I couldn’t even take a step, and the doctor basically said to just walk it off. I can’t walk” Max laughed, shaking his head
“I’ll see you soon then. I need to get to this interview” He smiled
“Yeah bye Max” You nodded with a sigh, taking Liam’s water bottle from him so he could sign things easier
“What have you done, Y/N?” A fan asked as you held onto the railing for support
“I twisted my knee while walking the dog. Thankfully I’m not working this week, and I’m in this lovely country. Imagine doing six hour shifts on one leg” You shook your head
“I hope you feel better soon” She smiled
“Thank you. Hope you enjoy the race” You smiled, watching Liam as Fred signs his shirt. Liam goes after him to sign Fred’s shirt.
“Let’s get you to the garage to sit down then baby” He smiled, wrapping his arm around your waist and helping you to the VCARB garage. It was crazy how Liam’s touch and smile could distract you from the pain and bring you back into the world where you were truly loved and maybe some of the news you had for Liam wouldn’t be so bad to tell him.

tw: nausea, vomiting, pregnancy tests
Sienna felt like shit.
Her hands trembled as she dragged her suitcase up the front path, trying to ignore the sweat beading on her hairline. As expected for the Australian summertime, it was as hot as hell, but she had been sweating and nauseous even in the depths of the air conditioned airport and the taxi.
Daniel had, of course, offered to come and collect her from the airport, but she refused, knowing that they were hosting his parents for lunch that afternoon. She wouldn’t deny Daniel the rare, quality time with his Mum and Dad for anything, no matter how much she wished he was there to give her a cuddle when she’d first got out of the airport.
As Sienna fished through her bag for her keys, her stomach knotted again, and she inhaled slowly through her nose, bracing the palm of her hand on the wood of the door. Mentally, she noted that there was a perfectly good hedge next to their front door that could be vomited into, if needed.
Eventually, the churning of her stomach eased a little, and Sienna managed to unlock the front door, pulling herself and her case into the entryway. She set her backpack and suitcase by the foot of the stairs before beginning the search through the house for her family.
Rounding the corner into the open-plan living space, she smiled at the sight of Daniel standing at the kitchen countertop, chopping salad and bopping along to the summery music of one of his many playlists. He was clad in a pair of navy shorts and a bright blue, noisily patterned shirt. His feet were bare. She was home.
Slowly, Sienna walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around his narrow waist. She felt him tense for a moment and giggled when he swore under his breath, before he looked down at her hands, which curled over his tummy.
“Well, hey there, cutie,” he murmured.
Sienna sighed contentedly, turning her head to rest her cheek between his shoulder blades as his voice settled over her like smooth caramel, “hi, baby.”
Daniel took hold of her hands to loosen her grip on him enough that he could turn to face her. She rested her hands on his hips, as his came up to cup her face. His stubble had grown a little since she had left, and one unruly curl of hair was hanging over his forehead. She reached up to smooth it back into place, with little effect.
“I fucking missed you,” he admitted, his gorgeous brown eyes scanning her face as he spoke.
Sienna nodded and leant up on her tiptoes to kiss him, “I missed you too.”
He smiled against her mouth until she lowered back to the flat of her feet. The motion alone made her head spin and she let out a groan, leaning forward to rest her head against his chest.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, his large hands running up and down her spine.
She shrugged, “I’ve felt awful for the whole journey home.”
“In what way?” Daniel probed, his concern growing.
“Nauseous, dizzy, hot even in the air conditioning. I haven’t managed to eat anything today,” Sienna listed.
“Still?” Daniel queried in confusion, “you were feeling sick before you left for Sydney too.”
“Must’ve just been the start of it. The nausea feels the same,” Sienna admitted, “although I feel like I’m running more of a temperature now.”
Daniel shook his head and lifted his hand to press the back of it to her forehead, “you don’t feel warm, you’re just a little…damp. With the sweat, y’know?”
Sienna snorted out a laugh at his choice of words, “probably because it’s hot as hell here, as usual. Who’s bright idea was it again to move out to a farm in The-Arse-End-of-Perth, Australia, again?”
“Oh I do wonder,” Daniel teased in return.
They knew full well that both he and Sienna had painstakingly searched for a house just like the one they were standing in for years, and were equally enthusiastic when the farm had come on the market. The day they had moved into the house, 4 years into their relationship, had been one of the happiest of Sienna’s life so far. It was their home, and any time that they had spare from Daniel’s hectic racing calendar in the year since they’d bought it was spent there.
Sienna tilted her head back to peer up at his handsome face, her fingertips gripping at the silkiness of his shirt, “are your mum and dad here yet?”
Part of her hoped he’d say no, so that they could cuddle, and she could nap, even though she was desperate to see Grace and Joe again too. She adored Daniel’s family.
Daniel nodded, “they’re outside. But if you’re not feeling well enough to come out now, you can go lay down for a bit. They’ll understand.”
“No way,” Sienna shook her head, even though she was dying to crawl into her own bed and just sleep, “I want to see them.”
The Ricciardos were out on the patio, looking as put together and gorgeous as ever. Grace was holding a glass of red wine, watching Joe heating the grill with a beer in hand. Daniel came out, holding the large bowl of salad he’d prepared in one hand, and leading Sienna out with the other.
“There’s our girl!” Joe cheered at the sight of her, abandoning the grill to rush over as Daniel let go of her to put down the food.
Sienna never had to force a smile around Daniel’s family. They were always so incredibly welcoming to her.
“Hey, Joe,” she greeted, as he engulfed her in a tight hug. Grace had also made her way over in that time, greeting Sienna with a hug and a kiss on the cheek once Joe let go of her.
“How was your journey, darling?” Grace queried softly, cupping her cheek.
Sienna managed a weak smile, “it was a little rough. I don’t feel all that well.”
“Oh, sweetie, go and rest if you need to!” Grace exclaimed, her hands resting on Sienna’s shoulders, “don’t mind us one bit.”
Sienna shook her head, “I’ll be okay. I think I just need some food and fresh air. I haven’t managed to eat yet today either, so that probably explains it.”
Grace still looked uncertain, but let it go, taking her seat back at the table with Sienna beside her as Daniel went to assist Joe with the food again. Grace and Sienna chatted about her work trip to Sydney and other current affairs, occasionally looking up to laugh at the banter between Daniel and his dad over the barbecue, or the ridiculous way Daniel was shaking his hips to the music. They talked about her and Daniel’s plans for the rest of the summer break, including their upcoming trip to Southern Italy.
Throughout, Grace knew that Sienna still wasn’t herself. She was awfully pale, and Grace noticed how Sienna’s hands were trembling a little whenever she went to take a tentative sip of water. She also noticed how Daniel would glance back over at Sienna regularly to check on her, the small crease between his eyebrows showing concern.
In the distance beyond the patio, Sienna spotted their flock of sheep migrating over the red-dirt hills towards their pen. She made a mental note to go down and visit them first thing in the morning, along with her horses. She had missed them so much in the four days that she was away. Having enough space to own animals had always been a dream of hers, and she felt blessed that she and Daniel were in a position to do so.
Suddenly, a slight breeze blew across the patio, carrying the scent of the cooking meat on the barbecue across the table. Sienna’s nose scrunched as the rich scent of steak and seasoned chicken engulfed her, and her stomach lurched. She slapped her hand ove no r her mouth and pushed out from the table as bile rose in her throat.
Daniel could only watch in confusion as Sienna raced back inside the house. He quickly handed the spatula back over to his dad and took off his apron, not wanting to risk anything that was making Sienna feel more sick getting close to her.
“Poor thing,” he heard his mum saying sympathetically as he followed Sienna inside, “she really isn’t well at all.”
The door to the downstairs bathroom was flung wide open, and Sienna hadn’t even bothered to turn the lights on before falling to her knees in front of the toilet. There was no relief that came with actually vomiting though, and now she had started she feared she wouldn’t be able to stop. Already, there was little more than stomach acid coming up, burning at her nose and throat and only making the nausea worse.
“Oh, Peach,” Daniel sighed, crouching down beside Sienna’s exhausted-looking form. He carded his fingers through her sweat-dampened hair, ensuring it was all pulled away from her face before he kissed the crown of her head.
“I’m here, baby,” he soothed as she continued to vomit.
One of her hands shakily reached for him to steady herself, her clammy palm gripping onto his thigh where his shorts had ridden up a little to expose the tanned and tattooed skin.
Sienna let out a tired little sigh once her stomach finally stopped heaving, and she turned her head to rest her rosy cheek on Daniel’s thigh. She felt completely drained, and didn’t even try to open her eyes.
“All done?” Daniel asked softly, not wanting to speak too loudly and make her feel worse.
Weakly, she nodded, and Daniel shifted her until they were both sitting on the floor. Sienna was cradled in his lap as he smoothed his hand over her hair.
After a few moments, Daniel spoke quietly, “I’m going to put you in bed for a little while. If you’re feeling better later, you can come sit out with me and mum and dad again, yeah?”
Sienna didn’t even have the energy to object or explain how embarrassed she felt about getting sick in front of Daniel’s parents, so instead she just nodded. Daniel gently slid Sienna off his lap and onto the floor, before getting to his feet and bending down to lift her. He hooked an arm beneath her knees and the other behind her back, encouraging Sienna to curl into his chest.
“I’ve gotcha sweetheart,” he murmured when she let out a quiet groan of discomfort. Even the slight movement of him starting to walk up the stairs was making her feel sick again.
By the time Daniel had reached their bedroom, Sienna was fast asleep against his chest. He pulled back the covers with one hand and lay her down on the mattress gently. He made sure the air conditioning was set just as she liked it, that she had her childhood Snuggle Cat close by and a cold glass of water on the bedside table. He took a moment to perch on the mattress next to her, noting the tension in her forehead and the little crease of her skin between her brows, even in her sleep. Something was definitely off.
Of course they’d seen each other sick in the last 6 years, even suffering through a rough bout of Covid-19 during the pandemic. Daniel couldn’t remember ever seeing Sienna so unwell before. Usually she would still manage to soldier through any symptoms, and simply curl up on the sofa under a blanket to watch trashy TV, but this time, she seemed completely drained.
Daniel gently kissed between Sienna’s brows, before smoothing over the spot with his thumb, encouraging her to relax, shushing her softly. She let out a little groan, arching into his touch before she snuggled further into the pillows.
Joe and Grace had finished off cooking the meat and veggies on the barbecue by the time Daniel wandered back out onto the patio. They’d even set the outside table and brought out the side dishes from the kitchen.
“How’s our girl?” Joe asked, as Daniel raked a hand through his hair, sinking into a chair opposite his mum and dad.
“Uh, she’s sleeping,” he said, reaching for the bowl of salad, “she’s totally wiped.”
“I could tell something wasn’t right as soon as she got back,” Grace admitted, spooning a few baby potatoes onto her plate, “we can save her some of the plainer food in case she’s hungry later, Bub.”
Daniel nodded in agreement, “thanks mum. She’s not been feeling well for a while, even before she left for Sydney. It might just be a bit of a nasty virus or something.”
Grace set down the dish she was holding and stared at her son, “she left on Tuesday?”
Daniel, still not looking up from where he was loading food onto his plate, nodded again, “yeah, she was away for 4 days.”
“Might even be worth seeing the doctor if she’s still not feeling great after 4 days,” Joe suggested, pushing his chair out from the table, “I’m gonna grab a beer. Want one, Dan?”
Daniel shook his head, “nah, thanks. I’d better not in case Sienna needs me later.”
Joe nodded, grabbing his son’s shoulder on his way past him back into the house. Once Joe was fully out of earshot, Grace leant across the table towards Daniel.
“Danny…I think you need to go and buy a pregnancy test,” She said.
Daniel’s brow furrowed, “what? For Sienna?”
“No. For you,” Grace joked, before she shook her head, “obviously for Sienna.”
He felt his stomach clench a little at the suggestion, “you think…?”
“It all adds up, Bubs. I was so sick when I was pregnant with you that I was convinced I had stomach flu for two weeks. I was just like Sienna is now - couldn’t stand the smell of any food, I was vomiting, I had nausea and headaches,” Grace explained, ticking off the symptoms on her fingers.
Daniel let out a little laugh of disbelief, “holy shit.”
Grace shook her head quickly, seeing Daniel’s excitement at the prospect growing, “it might not be, but she’s got the symptoms. Might just be worth checking.”
“She should have had her period by now,” Daniel noted.
He couldn’t remember the last time Sienna had put sanitary products into their basket while shopping, curled up with a hot water bottle pressed to her belly or taken one of her ‘magical’ Epsom salt baths for her cramping.
It had been a while.
Grace nodded slowly, giving her son time to process his thoughts, “why don’t you run to the store now while she’s asleep? Your dad and I can stay here with her. I won’t say anything to Dad.”
Daniel’s eyes flitted to his mum, who gave him a reassuring smile. He nervously raked a hand through his hair, at which his mum leant forward, offering her hand to him across the table.
He took it and she gave it a squeeze.
“It’s gonna be okay, Dan. You don’t need to be scared,” she whispered.
Tumblr media
Daniel stood, staring blankly at the shelves in the tiny convenience store. He didn’t think it was possible to have so many different variations of the same product. Surely they all just did the same thing, right?
He snapped a photo of the shelves and sent it to his mum, followed by one word. ‘Help.’
While he waited for her response, he started at one end of the small aisle, eyes scanning across the various boxes to see if any of the tests stood out to him. There were early result ones, ‘dip’ ones - whatever the fuck that meant - and a plethora of digital ones. They boasted the highest accuracy percentage, and Daniel trusted statistics, so he began picking a digital test from each brand off the shelf and dropping them into the basket at his feet.
His phone pinged, and Grace had replied; ‘digital is better. ClearBlue is what Mich used.’
Daniel nodded and slipped his phone back into his pocket, continuing his journey down the aisle. His mind kept drifting back to Sienna, who was laying in bed back at their house, unbelievably sick and potentially pregnant with their child. The thought of her carrying their baby was almost too exciting for Daniel to bear. He knew he had to get home to her quickly.
Tumblr media
A dip in the mattress made Sienna stir from her deep sleep. She yawned and stretched, accidently shoving Snuggle Cat onto the floor before she opened her eyes.
Daniel was perched beside her, his large hand settled on the curve of her hip beneath the comforter, “hey, Peach. How are you feeling?”
Sienna smiled sleepily at the nickname, which made Daniel relax a little. She finally seemed a bit more like herself.
“Um, not as sick, I think?” Sienna answered tentatively, scrunching her nose as she gauged whether she was at an immediate risk of throwing up on Daniel. After a second, she decided that they’d be safe for the moment.
Daniel nodded, “good. That’s…good.”
Sienna then noticed the plastic grocery store bag in his lap, “what have you got, Dan?”
He looked down at his lap, and then back at her, “I went to the store while you were asleep. Mum suggested it.”
“Oh?” Sienna asked, rubbing at her eyes with a closed fist, not caring if she was smudging her already ruined mascara even more.
Daniel reached into the bag and pulled out one of the boxes, setting it on top of the quilt between them. It took Sienna a moment to register what she was looking at, but as soon as she did, she felt her mouth go dry.
“What-?”
“Mum said it might be worth taking a test,” Daniel said softly, hoping he hadn’t overstepped the mark, “that she was so sick when she was first pregnant with me, just like you have been, and I just thought-”
Sienna just blinked at him, her hand coming up to rest on her pale cheek, “I-I could be. I just don’t know.”
“You don’t have to,” Daniel insisted, reaching forward to take hold of her hand, “I know I’ve just sprung this on you which is pretty shitty of me considering how unwell you’re feeling. I’m sorry.”
Sienna shook her head, looking up at him from beneath her lashes, “do you want me to take one?”
Daniel didn’t really know how to answer. Of course he wanted to know if they were going to be parents, but for her, he’d wait to make sure she was comfortable. After all, she hadn’t had much time to process the idea.
“Only if you want to,” Daniel said softly.
Sienna took a shuddering breath, “I’m scared.”
“It’s okay,” Daniel replied, “I’ll be here the whole time.
True to his word, Daniel accompanied Sienna to the bathroom, leaning back against the countertop as she peed on as many of the tests as she could manage. After each one, she’d pass them over to Daniel, who dutifully lay them out in a neat line across the counter.
“Jesus, Si, keep ‘em coming,” he teased, quite impressed by the amount of pee she was managing to produce.
“Shut up, Dan,” she grumbled, her cheeks flushing a bit at his words as she clicked the cap onto the 6th and final test and stretched her hand out towards him. He smiled at her and took it, turning his back only to allow her the privacy to clean up and flush.
“How long do we wait?” he asked, as Sienna perused one of the many test boxes stacked up on the countertop after washing her hands.
“They take around 2 minutes apparently,” She sighed, wrapping her arms around herself.
Daniel was staring down at the line of tests intently, as if his gaze alone was enough to give them a result. She knew he was trying to stay composed for her, but she could spot his excitement a mile off. In that moment, she knew exactly what she wanted, and the real fear came from not being able to give Daniel that either.
“Danny,” she croaked, her eyes brimming with tears.
He turned to look at her and crossed the short distance to where she stood. As soon as he got to her, she crumbled, her arms wrapping around his neck and her face nuzzling into his shoulder to dampen his shirt.
“Hey,” he whispered, his hands running up and down her back, “it’s going to be okay, baby. Talk to me.”
She shook her head against him, and he gently squeezed her hips enough to hoist her up so she was sat on the counter. His hands cradled her face gently, those big brown eyes peering into hers.
“I love you,” he said quietly.
Sienna's eyes brimmed with tears again, “I love you.”
“What’s going on?” He probed, his thumbs stroking the fresh tears from her cheeks. The way she was trembling and crying was breaking his heart.
“I’m scared that you’ll be disappointed,” Sienna admitted, the words alone causing more tears to fall from her eyes.
“Disappointed?” Daniel’s eyebrows furrowed, “how could I be disappointed, sweetheart? If those tests are positive, I’ll be absolutely elated, and if they’re not, sure it’ll sting, but I know that one day when we do get a positive, it’ll be the best day of my life.”
Sienna felt her heart burst with love for the man standing in front of her, and she leant forward to allow their foreheads to meet. Daniel pressed a kiss to the tip of her nose.
“Do you want them to be positive?” he asked against her skin.
Sienna closed her eyes, and without a second thought, nodded emphatically, chewing at her bottom lip, “more than anything.”
Daniel let out a sigh, finally understanding why she was so anxious, “listen, if they aren’t positive, and you do have some shitty virus, then as soon as you’re feeling better, we’ll get on board the baby-making train.”
Sienna peered up at him, “really?”
“Really,” Daniel said decisively.
Suddenly she let out a giggle and rolled her eyes, “I can’t believe you just called it ‘the baby making train’.”
“Is that not what everyone calls it?” Daniel teased, laughing at his own joke as always. Sienna adored him for it.
“I don’t think so, honey,” she sniffled, bringing her arms to loop behind his neck so that she could run her fingertips through the soft curls on the back of his head.
“I think this might be the longest two minutes of my life,” Daniel admitted, turning his head to look at the row of tests again.
Just as he did, the first test began to beep quietly, the small light on the front flashing as if anyone who had taken one of those tests wouldn’t already be watching it like a hawk.
Sienna looked at him, letting a slow breath fall from between her lips. Daniel turned back to her and kissed her softly, silently reassuring as his hands gently took hold of her waist to ease her off the counter.
“I don’t know if I can look,” Sienna admitted quietly, her hands starting to tremble as the second timer beeped too.
Daniel’s hands ran up and down her ribs, “tell me what you want me to do.”
Sienna peered up at him, her vision blurring through her tears again as she saw the excited little smile playing on Daniel’s lips. She knew how much this moment meant to him, so she let him have it.
“Go look,” she urged.
Daniel kissed the top of her head before padding the short distance to the other side of the sink, where the tests were all lined up and waiting. For a moment, Daniel was frozen, his hands pressed to the counter on either side of the tests and his head bowed as he surveyed each of them carefully. It was the quietest Sienna had ever heard him be and the stillest she’d ever seen him.
After a few seconds of just listening to his steady breathing, Sienna mustered the courage to stand alongside him, staring at the side of his handsome face to try and gauge his reaction.
“Dan…what do they say?” Her voice was shaking, and she gripped onto the fabric of his shirt like a lifeline, too petrified to look down at the tests.
Daniel exhaled, turning round to face her, and it was then that she saw the tears on his cheeks. Only once he had her in his arms, did he nod, and let a beaming smile spread across his face. His hands came up to cradle her face, and he looked at her, grinning like a fool.
“Daniel…” Sienna warned shakily, as he continued to stay silent, “what-?”
“You’re pregnant.”
Immediately, Sienna buried her face into his chest and began to sob, as his hands wrapped around her tightly, one curling against the back of her head to hold her against him as she cried. He gently pulled back, pressing kisses all over her face even as she giggled and cried, completely overwhelmed.
“Oh my god,” she whimpered, leaning round Daniel enough to pick up the first test off the counter.
It wasn’t that she didn’t trust him, but she just needed to see it for herself. Sure enough, the little display screen showed a plus sign, followed by the word ‘pregnant’.
The next 5 tests each said the same.
Sienna clutched them all in her hands, Daniel laughing joyously at the sight of her holding them all with a look of pure amazement on her face.
“Holy shit,” she breathed, “Danny…”
“I know,” he laughed again, raking his fingers through his curls, “I can’t believe this.”
“Me neither,” Sienna admitted, setting the tests down on the counter gently, “we’re going to have a baby.”
Daniel laughed, more tears falling down his cheeks as he reached for her. She stepped into his grasp again, her arms resting easily around his waist as her chin dropped to settle on his sternum, allowing her to stare up at him.
“I love you,” she said softly, as his shoulders heaved with another sob.
“I love you too,” he whispered, leaning down enough to press a gentle kiss to her lips.
The pair stood like that for what felt like an eternity, sharing kisses and tears in each other’s arms. Suddenly, Daniel pushed away from her gently, enough to drop his gaze down between their bodies.
“What are you doing?” Sienna laughed, as his hand came down to rest on her flat tummy.
He continued to stare at her body intently, brows furrowed, “just trying to imagine what it’ll be like when you can’t see your toes anymore.”
Sienna snorted and shook her head, “well for me, it’ll be ridiculously uncomfortable. For you, it’ll be like standing beside a beached whale.
Daniel shook his head adamantly, lifting his head again to look at her, “no way. You’re going to be the cutest pregnant woman of all time.”
“Oh really?” Sienna asked, as his hand stroked across her belly. He nodded and kissed her forehead in confirmation, completely overwhelmed at the thought of watching Sienna’s body change and grow over the coming months.
He couldn’t wait to experience it all with her: the scans, deciding on decoration for the nursery, helping her tie her laces when she couldn’t bend down anymore, feeling their baby kicking for the first time. It was all so exciting.
“Really,” Daniel affirmed, leaning his forehead against hers, “I think this is the happiest moment of my life.”
Sienna’s eyes watered at his words, “oh Dan…”
“I’ve always wanted this with you Si,” Daniel continued softly, “we’re going to have the cutest babies.”
Sienna sniffled and laughed, nodding, “we are.”
Daniel grinned, each of his pearly teeth on show as a hand drifted to stroke across her flat tummy, “do you think it’s a boy or a girl?”
“I have no idea,” Sienna laughed, shaking her head, “what do you think? Do you mind?”
“I don’t mind,” Daniel shrugged, “I mean my parents had one of each, your parents had one of each, you can’t get more statistically even than that right?”
“I guess so,” Sienna smiled, leaning forward to nudge the tip of her nose against his.
Daniel lifted his gaze to look at her, and she pressed her lips against his. They kissed for a moment, soft and sweet and gentle, before parting. Sienna whispered, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Daniel murmured, pecking her lips twice more before his eyes lit up, “how do you feel about telling my parents they’re going to be grandparents again?”
Sienna giggled and nodded, as Daniel grabbed one of the many positive tests from the countertop, “let’s do it.”
Daniel grasped her hand, and gave her a little tug to follow him out of the bathroom. Sienna followed, one hand interlaced with his while the other grasped at his tattooed forearm. Just as he turned the corner and reached for their closed bedroom door, Sienna squeezed him, squeaking out an urgent, “wait.”
He stopped in his tracks as suddenly as she had, turning to eye her up questioningly, his eyebrow quirking worriedly, “you’re not gonna puke again are ya?”
Sienna bit her lip and shook her head, tears welling in her eyes again, “Danny, I…”
He let go of the handle and turned to face her, giving her hand a comforting squeeze, “yeah?”
“This is our last moment of only us knowing about the baby,” she whispered, tears threatening to fall more with every passing second.
The more she imagined the tiny little life growing inside her, the more her stomach churned with nerves and excitement.
Daniel nodded and took another step closer, “do you want to wait to tell them? We can wait if you’re not ready, although I’ll have to come up with something to tell Ma.”
“No,” Sienna insisted, shaking her head before giving him a shy smile, “I just want a minute longer to really remember this feeling, before it’s not only us anymore.
With that, she looked him up and down, taking in his luscious dark curls, his warm honey-toned gaze and gorgeous nose. She admired the way his boisterous party shirt hung off his frame and the glimpse of his thigh tattoo peeking from beneath the hem of his almost-too-short shorts.
When her eyes met his again, he was beaming from ear to ear, each of his pearly white teeth showing in the way that made her heart flutter unconditionally. She knew she’d remember him in that moment, and the way he looked at her knowing she was carrying their first child, for the rest of her life.
“I fucking love you,” she hiccuped, trying to compose herself, even as tears fell down her flushed cheeks.
Daniel snorted a laugh and pulled her close, pressing his lips against hers firmly, “I fucking love you too, darling.”
Sienna pecked his lips twice more, before pulling back to look at him, her gaze still soft and watery, “I think I’m ready.”
Daniel smirked and nodded, “then let’s do this.”

I: Chill
Idol! Bangchan x Chubby Reader x Idol! Felix
🌸Kdrama Vibes, Love Virus, and Love Trangle🌸
The OG Drabble
00.1%, the point one percent is you.. Or at least that's how you feel being in a relationship with Bang Chan; you met him your vacation in Australia all the while he was reuniting with his beautiful family - Berry was actually the first member of the family you met. You heard slight growls followed by tugging you looked down at the poor puppy's leash tangled on the bench's legs.
She cutely whined before turning her eyes up to you for help.to which you happily help her. However; her owner wasn't to for behind her - that's where those big beautiful eyes of yours melt the poor man down to a giggling puddle.
In vice versa, you never stood a chance against his accent to his big pink nose matching his ears. His bashfullness paired with insane muscle mass made you see stars, manly yet gentle..
"Christopher." He said his name was..
Little did you know; A whole another world came along with him. He failed to tell you he's also bangchan; leader of SKZ - a wildly popular korean boyband. He basically fathers the members being so he trumps them in age. You found out quickly the age card is thrown around a lot in South Korea.
Sadly; Bang Chan told you all this overwhelming information the day you moved to Korea with him….It wasn’t the worse idea, he’s ever had.
With a fiery rage burning within, you bellowed at him, his tongue-in-cheek facade no longer amusing. "Why did you not consider informing me earlier? Was that not even a possibility? Or did you arrogantly decide this on your own?" The anger surged through you, threatening to unleash a torrent of tears. His fame meant nothing to you, but being trapped in a foreign land with no means of income of your own.
“I asked; you to move in with me. You said-“ Bangchan scoffed after feeling a slipper knock him upside his head. “ Well, That wasn’t very nice.” He sang picking up the slipper-“ You know violence doesn’t solve anything-“
“Chan, hold on to that thought!” You've already had enough of him today. However, here's the twist: you didn't even have a chance to speak before storming towards the entrance, grabbing your coat.
“And let me enlighten you, my dear! When a man proposes living together, it's typically within the same country, not a completely foreign one!” As you flung open the door and took a confident step forward, you anticipated solid ground beneath your foot, but oh boy, were you about to be shocked...
As you gasped, your delicate fingers clung desperately to his firm forearm, tightly wrapped around your waist. In that moment, you realized the true value of walking, a privilege you had taken for granted until the arrival of Christopher. It was an unexpected turn of events, for this was the first instance where he exerted his strength upon you.
With effortless grace, he effortlessly scooped you up, cradling you under his protective arm, and carried you back into the sanctuary of the house. However, as soon as you crossed the threshold of the door, he released his grip, allowing you to stand on your own once more.
When Bangchan turned from locking the door you were walking away towards the bedroom.."You can be upset in here not outside late at night!" He yelled in a deceptive tone as if he were trying his damnest to be gentle with you. " Your things should be arriving soon-"
Slam!!
You can't believe him. When you agree to move in you didn't think it would be instant. you also didn't realize the home he was referring to was in South Korean to which he knows the language by heart!
Where was all this information hiding?
How dare he pretend that you're blowing this out of proportion when, in truth, it's an absolute nightmare to find employment in a foreign land that you have minimal knowledge about!
A weak knock presented itself to you. You sneered. Perfect timing; You eyed the nightgown he had prepared for you. Pretty modest yet graceful; a retro mini nightgown the lacey frills draped your body gorgeously.
You marched to the door while snatching a pillow off the bed to smother your boyfriend....or die trying.
" You're a kidnapper and a per-vert!"
Instead of your wretched excuse of a boyfriend, you swung open the door to find a blonde boy with adorable freckles. Your heart skipped a beat as you gasped, hastily concealing the pillow behind your back.
This is how you met Yongbok (Felix).
....
The following morning brought the memories of yesterday with it. Christopher was still in hot water it only continued to boil as you realized you've been moved. You remember falling asleep on top of the covers yet you found yourself tucked in.
You smiled for a second. The thoughts of Channie being caring as usual even if you were willing to physically fight him. That's when the smile faded away upon hearing movement downstairs coming upstairs.
Thud!!
"Ouch!" A loud voice expressed his pain. " Why would follow me up at the same time,Jeongin!?"
"Ah!" Channie whispered loudly; "Binnie, be quiet." He turns to scold the boys with a look.
Binnie widen eyes at the scorn. " Me?! Why aren't you talking to him!? He almost tripped me up!" He cried, pointing to Jeongin who stands there amused by his hyungs anger.
"I know, I know, Binnie-Gin, quiet laughing at him. You'll make him angrier." Bangchan has enough on his plate already. "And stay quiet; please." The language was difficult to understand but pleasant to hear especially when you realized Chris's voice. You found yourself blushing.
The door latch clicking alarmed you to keep still as the boys entered.
They made sure to seat everything down gently before heading back out...so we thought.
I.N couldn't resist admiring your peaceful expression. "She's so beautiful," he whispered, giving a thumbs up in approval. Your heart fluttered as he moved closer, his hair gently grazing your cheek. "She smells just like Felix's favorite perfume."
"Shh!" Chan hissed, his voice barely a whisper as he clenched his jaw. "If you dare wake her up. Get out , right now."
As time stood still, a silence filled the air, broken only by the gentle descent of the bed beside you. A tremor ran through you as familiar lips brushed against yours." I love you...I know you hate me right now.." He confessed, tilting his head slightly. " Honestly, I deserve it. I'm a dog for telling you half truths." Bangchan's lips touched your cheek before he nestled his nose against your skin. "I don't even have the balls to tell you when you're awake."
Channie couldn't help but laugh when he saw your eyelashes fluttering. "I have to say, you're absolutely stunning when you're pissed...those curves as you walk away." He winced as you sat up abruptly to hit his chest, but he caught your wrist and drew you closer. "Well, good morning to you as well."
You yanked your wrist away from him. "You are the absolute worst-mmmhp!mmm" You struggled against his biceps and shoulders as his strong arms enveloped you. Channie's kiss remained intense and forceful until you finally let go of his shirt, surrendering to his soft, irresistible lips.
♡..♡♡..♡♡♡.♡.♡♡
Chan, observing your dazed expression, gently moved away. He laughed softly, looking into your eyes that were brimming with affection. "I need to leave briefly," He whispered, pulling you onto his lap and holding onto your plush waist. "But don't worry, lover, I'm always just a phone call away."
You subconsciously nod as he spoke something you developed as you started dating him. " I'm still mad." You stated, brushing your fingers across his jawline. " We need to talk-"
"I tried that and you almost left in the dead of night. "He spat out with an undeserved attitude, but you were quick to pick up on it.
"Oh I'm sorry. Was my reaction to you lying to me upsetting to you?" Your nose brushed against his."Well, Mr. Bangchan, Christopher, Channie or whoever you are-"
You sneered as his heavy hand caressed your ass, but he continued speaking as if his hands had a mind of their own. "I'm Christopher in English," he said, tongue in cheek. "In Korea, I go by Bangchan," he explained calmly.
Christopher lifts you up in his strong embrace, he gently places you back on the bed, calling you adorable and his sweet Cutie. With a sly wink, he leaves you breathless.
He ignored your anger again.

baby, it's cold outside
alternatively: she just wants to stay in bed
in which she always get seasonal depression at the same time of the year and he tries to make her feel better about it
(series masterlist)
Tumblr media
logan opens the door to their apartment, slightly baffled at the eerie silence he's greeted with. he smiles slightly when stubby approaches him with a smile, hopping right by him as he slips his shoes off right by the entryway.
the corgi pads behind him by a step as he makes his way further into the house. when he entered the living room, he had half expected to find his girlfriend sitting on the couch with kidnapper on her lap while she binged on the new netflix show she started to watch last night.
but nothing. his girlfriend is nowhere to be found in the common areas.
he hums before heading for his room - the last place he had seen her before he left in the morning for the gym. surely enough, there she was still in the same spot as he remembered.
"you haven't eaten yet?" logan voices out, gently putting his bag down right by his bedroom door. he turns on the light, tilting his head in confusion when she pulls the blankets over her head. "babe, it's almost one in the afternoon."
"i'm not hungry," she answers simply.
"have you gotten out of bed yet?"
"no, i don't have anything to do today."
"have you fed the kids?"
"i thought you fed them breakfast."
"i did. what about lunch? they were supposed to eat at twelve-thirty."
she doesn't respond immediately. she removes the blanket from her head and turns to look at him. "i lost track of time. i'm sorry."
she starts to push herself off the bed, carefully moving around the cat that's decided to take solace at the foot of the bed right next to her feet. "i'll do it right now."
"hey, don't worry about it," logan sighs, walking over to where she is. he holds her shoulders and gently forces her back down to her previous spot. "what's wrong? you're usually up and about by nine."
she lowers her chin and then lifts her eyes to meet him. she pushes her hair behind her ear and sighs. "it's too cold," she mutters, shaking her head slightly. "and it's so dark outside - i couldn't get myself out of bed."
something immediately connects in his head. he should've known that this was coming. every year, without fail, during the peak of winter when it gets too cold to do anything, she tends to start feeling a little bit under the weather.
the sun is only out for a short window of time every day, and it’s only contributed to how hard it’s been to get herself out of bed.
everything just seems so blue and mellow, as she’s said several times before.
“okay, how about,” logan hums with a small smile, taking a seat on the edge of his bed. he takes his hands into hers. “i’ll go make lunch, feed kidnapper and stubby. and then let’s go on a date? let’s go drive to the park outside of town and take a walk?
“or, if you want… i heard from ciara that there’s a new go-kart place that opened downtown. if you wanna race, we can go and do that!”
“the sun is gonna set in two hours,” she whines, throwing herself back into the bed head first. “what is the point of even doing anything during the winter?”
“don’t say that,” logan frowns, pulling her up to prevent her from lying back down. “we’re heading to australia in a couple of days — just hang on for a bit and then we can go bask in the sun and piss oscar off.”
“that’s too far away. i don’t wanna do anything until we absolutely have to leave for the airport,” she insists, attempting to drop herself back into the bed once more. “just leave me here to rot and die.”
he laughs softly, letting go of her hands when she drops herself on her back one more time. she turns around to lie on her stomach and buries her face into his pillow. “babe, you have to eat something.”
“i don’t have to eat anything. a human body can survive days without food,” she says, moving her head slightly to peek at him with one eye. “i hate winter. i’m so glad we’re going to melbourne for christmas.”
“i won’t be able to go to melbourne with you if you don’t eat anything,” logan frowns, resting a hand on her lower back. he shakes her slightly, prompting an annoyed mew from the black cat on the bed. “sorry.”
“i’ll starve until melbourne.”
“babe.”
“baby.”
he presses his lips together, trying to rake his brain for the file that had the list of ways that they would do over the years to pull her out of her seasonal depression. it’s always a challenge to try and remember the whole list.
instead of thinking, logan inches forward before resting his entire body weight on her back. she groans and attempts to roll out from under him, but he doubles down and simply grabs her wrists.
“let me cook you lunch so i can nurture you! your mum will kill me if i let you starve!”
“she won’t know unless you tell her!”
“i’ll tell her!”
“then i’ll feel bad cause she will kill you! just don’t tell her!”
“feel bad enough to eat what i’ll cook you?”
“no!”
“what if we go to the chinese restaurant down the street?”
he feels her lift her head, making him crane his neck to look at her. she pushes the hair out of her face and stares at him blankly. “beef noodles? dimsum? really?”
he smiles at her enthusiasm. “yeah, of course. that’s what you eat off their menu.”
for the first time that day, there’s a spark in her eye and a smile that he’s glad is finally making an appearance. “and then let’s go-kart after?”
“yeah! it’s a date?” he gets off her to sit up, letting her roll over and sit up with him. “and then we can go to your favourite cafe for some coffee and cake.”
she lifts her eyebrows, puckering her lips out. “oo, cake.”
she sits on her legs with her hands resting on her knees politely. “i’ll get ready after i feed the kids! hold on.” she starts moving away from him, crawling towards the other side of the bed. “kidnapper, let’s feed you.”
logan yanks her into him, making her fall on her back and her head lands in his lap. he grins and pinches her cheek lightly. “i’ll feed them. you go get ready.”
“but i was supposed to feed them lunch.”
“yeah, but i’m here now. i can do that,” he beams. “you worry about getting ready — i’ll take care of everything else.”
she pouts her lip out. she stretches her arms up towards him, cupping his cheeks to squish his face. “that’s so sweet. thank you.”
“of course.” he scrunches his nose as she pulls him down, pressing a quick kiss to his lips. “cup of orange juice for the pretty girl?"

Sunsets and footballers (Part 59)
Alexia Putellas x Character (19)
Masterlist (other parts here)
((**mini 2.8k**))
“Put me down.”
“You’re obviously doing better if you’re ready to argue.”
They both knew Alexia didn’t need to be okay to be arguing with her.
“Put me down, Ridley.”
“That’s not a nice way to talk to someone who’s helping you.”
“Why are you even here?”
“To check on you.”
“To check on me or Chiquito?”
“Can’t it be both?”
Alexia gave a frustrated sound.
“Put me down.”
“No.”
“You can’t carry me all the way, I’m heavy.”
“Yes, I can, and no, you are not.”
“Ridley-”
“I was in the military. I’ve been through worse.”
“Yes, as a pilot. Is that where you get your stubbornness from?”
Ridley looked down at her and was not disappointed by the grumpy look she had on her fatigued, sweaty face. She smirked.
“I went through SERE training. And no, I like to think that was genetically gifted to me.”
“Blau mentioned that…”
“Hm. What did she say?”
“Nothing, she said I should ask you.”
Ridley nodded like she already knew what Blau would have done. “Okay.”
“Well?”
“Well, what? You haven’t asked me a question.”
“You’re so frustrating!”
“And still, you can’t get me out of your head.”
Alexia went silent for a moment at that honesty.
Ridley looked at her and felt guilty again. “It’s not a nice discussion to have.”
“I just don’t understand… you were a pilot. You weren’t in the army.”
Ridley sighed, knowing she’d never let it go. “No, but pilots are most likely to become prisoners in enemy territory if we crash or eject or run out of fuel. We needed to be trained to endure it.”
“Endure what? Australia isn’t fighting anyone.”
Ridley stepped into the lift; Alexia still cradled safely in her arms. “Press the button, please.”
“Not until you tell me more.”
Alexia saw Ridley’s jaw flex as she manoeuvred and pressed the penthouse button with her elbow.
“There’s a lot of fighting happening that the public isn’t aware of.”
Alexia’s eyes widened. “You… fought?”
“I was one of a few who were involved in live combat, yes.”
“And so… how did they train you?”
Ridley made a frustrated noise. “What do you want me to say here, Alexia? They tortured us. Broke us. Again, and again. They drowned us and starved us and broke our bodies down to make us stronger. They broke us until it was impossible to torture us. So that we could endure any type of pain. Is that what you want to hear?” Ridley was looking at her now, those memories flooding across her face, across those dark eyes. “So yes, I can carry you until my fucking bones break, and beyond.”
Alexia let that hang in the air a few moments, both regretting having asked, and grateful that she knew. She felt like such a large piece of Ridley had just slotted into place. Did Ridley see her feelings for Alexia as a weakness to be drilled out of her?
Alexia put a hand over the large heart Ridley didn’t want to admit she had. “Thank you for telling me.”
Ridley took a few more breaths to calm herself and Alexia watched as the pain subsided and empathy took hold. “Lex just… save your breath please. You need to rest.”
A few more moments of silence were had in the lift and Alexia couldn’t help but feel safe in her arms. Comfortable. Ridley didn’t seem to be straining at all. Alexia knew she wasn’t small; she was 173cm and almost 70kg, but looking at Ridley’s calm face and feeling her arms hold her so easily, she felt like she weighed nothing to her.
She watched her as she stood, as she thought, somewhere off in the distant world of Ridley. There was something about her that was just so… fascinating to her.
The lift reached the top floor and Ridley stepped out and walked her to the door.
“Door, please.”
Instead of arguing, Alexia opened the door, and Ridley closed it with her foot when they were in. It was a beautiful feeling, stepping inside. The house smelled lovely, the aircon hit her body which sent a little shiver up her spine, and Chiquito greeted them.
“Hello my little man,” Ridley greeted him in Spanish before walking them ever so slowly inside. “Has he been keeping you company?”
“Yes, very well actually.”
“He can be quite… clingy at times. It’s one of the things I love most about him.”
“He’s very much like you.”
“You think I’m clingy?”
“I don’t know you well enough for that.”
It was a little dig, and Ridley knew it, but she didn’t bite.
“Are you feeling dizzy? Lightheaded?”
“No.”
Ridley paused her steps to give her a sceptical look. “You’re trembling.”
“Maybe because I lost the feeling in my legs having been carried from a park.”
Ridley only smiled. “Tell me the truth.”
After a few moments of silence, Alexia admitted, “I’m only a little lightheaded.”
Ridley nodded and continued to the couch. “Feel sick?”
“Yes.”
“Okay.” Ridley placed her ever-so-gently down onto the couch, and laid her down. Alexia’s eyes found hers as Ridley cradled the back of her head all the way until it was touching the couch. “Lie here to calm your body for a minute or so. When I come back, we’ll sit you up.”
“Where are you going?”
Ridley didn’t respond, she just disappeared. She reappeared soon with a bottle of water and another bottle with a coloured liquid. She placed them on the coffee table as she learnt back over Alexia. God, it took her breath away when she did that.
“Would you like to sit up now?”
Alexia didn't trust her words; not while she was drowning in her eyes. She nodded.
“Okay, Lex. Arms around my neck.”  Alexia did what she was told and Ridley lowered her head just past her ear. The feel of her breath there tickled and tingled while her hands found her waist.
Alexia held on as Ridley manoeuvred her up the couch until she was resting against it. As Ridley pulled back and their faces moved close to each other, there was a moment where they both paused as they felt each other just a breath away.
Alexia couldn’t help her eyes flicking to her lips and when she looked back up, Ridley’s eyes betrayed her inner conflict. She broke first and pulled away, placing the two bottle near her.
“Water and electrolytes. Drink.”
She was so demanding, so dominant, but it didn’t come from a place where dominance usually came from. Usually people wanted it to control others, to fulfil some sense of validation or desire. But with Ridley, she could tell it wasn’t the case. She wasn’t telling her what to do harshly. She wasn’t demanding it. There was no ego in her voice, and yet still, she was listened to. Because with Ridley, you knew it wasn’t a power play. She was just so good at making decisions that you knew to do as she said because she always made the correct decision in any situation, no matter how controversial or morally ambiguous.
Alexia picked up a bottle and opened it as Ridley walked away. She took a sip and relished the taste as she gave her body what it so desperately needed.
Ridley arrived back with ice and sat on the couch at Alexia’s legs, pulling her bad one across her body. She wrapped the ice around it, her eyes lingering on the scars.
“I’m assuming this is all about your knee?”
“Yes…”
Ridley nodded and stood, placing her leg back down as she walked away again. This time Alexia couldn’t help herself.
“Where are you going?”
“To make you lunch.”
Alexia felt so sick, she didn’t think she’d be able to eat.
“I don’t think I can.”
She heard Ridley fiddling around in the kitchen not a minute later. Of course. Stubbornness. Alexia sighed and kept herself hydrated until she returned and placed the prettiest bowl of oatmeal and fruits in front of her that she’d ever seen.
“Good carbs for the low blood sugar. Eat, la Reina.”
Her sick feeling went away with that. Slowly at first, and then more so. She groaned at that first mouthful and Ridley watched her until she was satisfied and left again. Alexia started eating faster, her body coming back to life until a hand touched her shoulder gently.
“Slow down, Alexia. Give your body time to adjust.”
Alexia did as she was told as Ridley made her way back around the couch and sat at her feet with a bottle in her hand. She gestured to her knee.
“May I?”
“It’s tender…”
“I know.”
She hesitated but nodded because she trusted her. Ridley sat between her legs and pulled her bad one into her lap, removing the icepack. She watched as the fingers of her good hand felt around her ACL and the entirety of her knee, front and back, and leading up into her thigh. When her inspection was done, she put some lubricant on her hand and massaged her knee. It was sore at first, and then… Alexia’s eyes rolled into the back of her head at the relief. She moaned, her head falling back onto the couch, the bowl of food forgotten in her lap.
Her fingers. Her fucking fingers. And her palm. And with a broken hand?! It was so good, she could almost orgasm. Another sound escaped her without permission.
“You can come if you really want to. I don’t mind.”
Typical Ridley. Alexia scoffed and her head shot back up as she fired back. “You’re giving me permission?”
Ridley shrugged nonchalantly. “I wouldn’t dare. You know what you want, la Reina.”
“Of course you don’t care. This would be the only way you’d make me come.”
Ridley paused and a question flashed across her face. She thought better of it and then one look at Alexia made her ask it. “Did you come to London thinking I’d fuck you?”
Alexia froze. She didn’t, did she? She wasn’t sure herself. She wondered how long Ridley had been pondering over that question.
“I came to get away.”
Ridley held her gaze until she was satisfied and nodded, returning to her work. “Good. Because we’ve had this discussion.”
That statement made Alexia angry, and she didn’t want to admit it, but it hurt. “So you wouldn’t care if I slept with Meg?”
Ridley’s face was all too neutral. “Meg?”
“My physio.”
“Ah,” she nodded. “Well, Katie did say she was pretty, did she not? Perhaps it will be good for you.”
“You don’t know what’s good for me!”
Ridley paused again, her eyes moving from her work, to the water and electrolytes, to the bowl of food in front of her. “You keep telling yourself that, Lex.”
“You’re really encouraging this?” Her voice broke because she was hurt.
“You can fuck who you want, Alexia. It’s your body. Your decision.”
“You wouldn’t care?”
“I never said that.” Ridley sighed and moved Alexia’s legs around her, replacing the icepack as she started on her other leg. “I can’t provide you with intimacy, so it would be selfish of me to be anything but encouraging.”
She never said she didn’t care.
“But you can offer it.”
Ridley sighed, exasperated. “No, I can’t.”
Alexia was at her breaking point. “I care about you’ve been through. What you’ve seen and what you’ve done. I know you must have done and seen some horrible things in the past, especially in the air force,” Ridley’s jaw flexed, “but you can trust me. You can talk to me.”
“They’re not your burdens to bear. They are mine, and mine alone.”
“But-”
“What do you want from me, Alexia?” Ridley was almost mad now, her eyes finding the footballers. “You want me to fuck you right here on this couch? Against the kitchen counter over there? In the gym? In the pool? You want to use me like that? Huh? That’s just sex. If all you want from me is sex, then just ask and I’ll make you scream so loud it’ll wake the fucking building. But you can’t, because there’s something more than that, and you know it.”
It was so brutally honest and Alexia was ashamed to admit how wet it made her. She wanted her, but not like that. Not like one of her girls. She bit back. “Oh and it wouldn’t be a problem for you? Feeling me, tasting me, hearing me come with you? Feeling my fingers inside of you and the sensation of my mouth on you?” She looked around. “How many women have you fucked in here, anyways?”
Ridley shook her head and gave a disappointed look at her. She knew Alexia was lashing out because she was hurt. “None.”
“Lies.”
“I don’t lie,” she said, hard. “You know that.”
“None?”
“None.”
Then why was she here?
“Why?”
“Because… because my brother always wanted to visit London.” Alexia’s rage disappeared like it was never there. “And when we were kids I promised him I’d bring him here and buy him a house. It… it doesn’t feel right.”
“So…”
Ridley answered like Alexia had asked her a question. Because she understood her. “So you’re the closest thing to a partner who’s ever been here, Lex.”
That nickname again. The closest thing to a partner. Alexia reached out and touched her arm. “Let me in…” she begged. Alexia never begged but she’d happily get on her knees for her.
Ridley was silent a few more moment. “You want more from me than I can give.”
Ridley stayed until late; the two lost in each other. Ridley shared her music with her, why she was passionate about it, how it made her feel, and Alexia… Alexia shared her football and her friends and… in the hopes that it would get Ridley to open up to her… she shared her dad. Her memories of him, things he said and did and how strongly he supported her. She cried unashamedly and Ridley wiped those tears away. They spent the rest of that day not together… but together. Close. Reassuring hugs and calming strokes. They moved together. Laughed together. Cooked dinner together, though Ridley did pick her up without her permission and sit her on the counter to get the weight off of her knee.
They found themselves on the couch in the theatre room as it grew late, Chiquito happily settled into Alexia’s lap as they searched for a movie. That half a day made her London trip worth everything. And as she sat there, so close to Ridley but not quite touching, she realised just how deeply she cared for her. She watched as she scanned the movies; the tv lighting her face in different ways.
“We left the football in the park,” Alexia murmured, only saying it to see how her face would react.
Ridley smirked and continued to scroll. “Actually, I kicked it to a kid who was eyeing it.”
Of course she did. Ridley the philanthropist.
A few more moments in silence and they eventually picked a movie and played it.
It started and Ridley leant back into the couch, Alexia still watching her.
“Why did you really come today?”
Ridley refused to take her eyes off of the television and she wondered if it was a tactic to control herself.
“To make sure you were okay,” she said in a husky voice.
“It would be easier if you just stay here instead of the hotel you don’t need to be in.” Alexia knew she didn’t need to be there, and she watched Ridley relax as she found out she knew. Why did she relax?
“It’s better this way.”
Alexia sighed, almost defeated.
“Can you do me a favour?” The Australian asked suddenly.
“Anything.” The word was out of her mouth before she could even think it.
“Please book in that physio for tomorrow. Your knee needs it and… I think it’d be good for you.”
Alexia heard her actual meaning. She’d be good for you.
A glance between the pair confirmed it.
“For you.”
That genuine Ridley smile softly warmed her face, lifting her scar as her cheek rose and Alexia could have died happy right then and there. The only reason she didn’t is because it didn’t quite reach her eyes.
She grudgingly took out her phone to book an appointment with Meg.
“Done?” Ridley asked.
“9am tomorrow.”
“Thank you…”
“You owe me a favour.”
“That’s two now. Hurry up and chip them in.”
Alexia fell asleep half way through the movie, the day dragging weariness into her. She felt her head resting on Ridley’s shoulder, the rise of fall of it lulling her into a deeper sleep. She dreamt of her. Of them. Happy. Laughing as they had done that day.
And then she woke, and Ridley was gone.

“This is so stupid!”
“Well if you hadn’t blown all your money, you wouldn’t be losing this bad.”
“Jack, you idiot.”
“I don’t wanna play this any more. You guys cheated.”
It’s all Ive heard all evening. When the boys at the lake house asked me to oversee monopoly, I did not think it would be this hectic. Or heated. It was Monopoly.
To be fair though, I did learn quite a bit about the Hughes and their friends.
Quinn was silently competitive, and I had definitely seen him slipping Luke some money here and there under the coffee table. I only let it slide because I was rooting for the youngest brother. I learned Cole was incredibly good with his money. Maybe a little stingy, but he was definitely a saver. Trevor didn’t give two shits. He was playing just for the hell of it, spending here and there and everywhere, but still managing to stay out of debt or bankruptcy, and Luke just seemed to have a natural knack for the game.
My beloved Jack was trying to do Trevor’s method, but luck was not on his side. He was owing people money he did not have. He was all over the place. He was a financial nightmare. I kept it in mind in case of the day you both get married. Any conjoined bank accounts would certainly have a pin or password he would not know.
“It’s a little late to quit now. Might as well stay in.” Quinn tried to reason.
“With my one property? Hell no.” Jack quickly stood up from the floor. I was not the only person who winced at the crack in his back. “Trevor can have it.”
Trevor, who somehow seemed to be the richest and luckiest.
“Oh fuck yes!” I giggled at Trevor’s excitement.
I would say I had more fun overseeing monopoly than Risk. When the boys decided to play that, I had to take headache medication due to all the yelling. They took that strategy game quite seriously. Again, except for Trevor. Who had a weird obsession with Australia, and overpopulated it with his troops.. and somehow ended up winning the game after two days of on and off playing.
There had been a lot of F-bombs there. A lot of negotiations. A lot of snack breaks. The second time it was brought out to play, halfway through day three, one of the boys got so tense they flipped the board.
The NATO of hockey players did not enjoy that.
Sometimes I played board games with them, but other times I really did enjoy watching them bicker and argue.
Throw Throw Burrito was another I enjoyed to watch. From a safe distance. Considering the main concept of the game was to throw foam burritos at one another. Some of the welts those boys left the table with amazed me. But I hadn’t laughed harder than the time Trevor got hit in between the legs. The speed with which everybody scattered, was highly amusing.
They didn’t play board games often at the lake house, but seeing as we were in the midst of a three hour power outage, and phones were on their last percentages, everybody was desperately looking for something to do.
“Babe, come on.” Jack mumbled, ever the sore loser. I looked up at him from the couch, his face illuminated by the many candles we had burning. Fucking scented candles that had the house smelling like too many things at once.
“I don’t know, Jack. Last time I left a board game unmonitored the whole thing was flipped.” I commented. I knew what I was doing, and as soon as the words left my mouth, the uprising of displeasure from that memory came in the form of new arguments and accusations about who it was that had flipped their poor game of Risk. Jack chuckled softly. I swiftly climbed over the arm of the couch, seeing as boys were sitting at the foot of it all gathered about the coffee table.
“They’re never gonna get over that.” Jack mumbled as he grabbed my hand. I was swift to snatch up one of the candles before he led me down the hall to his room.
“Not my problem. I still have my money on Cole.” I whispered in response. We both snickered softly, and I winced at the sound of another outburst. Trevor yelling about money missing. Looks like they caught Quinn and all his laundering.
“So, Rowdy,” I began with a playful smile as we wandered down the hall. “What’s on the agenda for tonight?”
“I don’t know. There’s gotta be something in this house to do.” Jack shrugged. I smiled at his cluelessness.
Once we got back into his room, I pushed the door shut behind myself. I opened his blinds and watched the rain pelt the windows, gently biting my bottom lip. Jack swiftly snuck up behind me, wrapping his arms around my body.
“Watch out baby,” I whispered, holding the candle out.
“Sorry.” Jack’s mumbled apology made me smile.
“Come on, Jack-O.” I tried to make my way to his tall dresser, but seeing as he wasn’t letting go, we both waddled our way over together. I set the candle down on top of the safe area, slowly turning in his arms to get a good look at Jack’s face.
“You think my mom and dad are okay?” His question caught me off guard.
“I have a strong feeling they’re more than fine.” I assured him, reaching up to cup his cheeks. “Probably having a more peaceful night than we are.” I added playfully, just in time to hear another shout and a loud bang. I winced. Somebody was beating the table now.
As much as I claimed to hate the noise, the silence in the lake house was often worse than that. Especially in the evenings. I got so used to the noise that the silence began to feel eerie. Like something was incredibly wrong.
“Can’t do movies, not enough phone power to play games. Not enough light to read.” I mumbled thoughtfully. “I have hair dye in the bathroom.”
Jack seemed to really consider the idea before shaking his head.
“Okay. Makeovers?”
He shrugged.
“Wanna watch me try on lingerie?” He lit up like a kid on Christmas. It was a cruel joke, but alas, I had no lingerie to try on, and I was not going to resort to seduction at a time like this. Not when something could go worse with the weather. The last thing I wanted to do was be huddled up in the basement with my boyfriend and his brothers and friends, in a less than appropriate outfit.
“Sorry for the false hope,” I apologized with a smile. Jack groaned.
“I’ll play mini sticks with you.” I finally offered, and Jack shrugged before deciding that was good enough.
“I’ll go get ‘em.” He was out of his room and back within a minute, two tiny little plastic nets in hand, a ball, and two sticks. I giggled softly. Even in the off season, we couldn’t escape hockey.
By the foot of his bed, Jack set up one net on one side of the room, and a net on the other. We quickly got situated on the floor before Jack slid a stick in my direction. I felt incredibly silly, but anything to pass the time at this point.
“You know the rules?” He asked, and I nodded.
“Same as normal hockey.” I checked. Jack smiled at me before he tossed the foam ball in my direction.
“Loser has to eat the melted nasty ice cream on the counter.” Jack made the condition. I grimaced. How disgusting. But once I agreed, we faced off, and our game began.
I could not say I was surprised near the end of the game, when we took an ‘intermission’ and I found I had holes in my leggings. Jack and I had played quite an aggressive game of knee hockey. Despite the fact that he tried to enforce penalties, he quickly gave up when I reasoned that he couldn’t be in charge of them. Especially when he kept grabbing the back of my shirt to keep me from getting too close to his goal.
The Hughes brothers were always cheating to win in some kind of minor game.
We’d laughed and yelled, pushed each other over and played with no mercy. But it was 9-9, and I seriously did not want to eat the warm ice cream. I figured if Jack had cheated, then I could play dirty too. So when I had the foam ball in my own possession, I rushed Jack, who was trying to play defense in the middle of the floor.
We made eye contact at the last second when I moved my stick into both hands -acting as though I planned to cross check him- and pressed my weight against his chest, shoving him onto the floor and effectively pinning him down.
Jack broke into a fit of laughter as I climbed on top of him.
“That’s a penalty,” he tried. I laughed and shook my head.
“Your mom is.”
I was swift to tap the puck into his net with my stick.
“And I win.” Jack was still laughing at the ‘your mom’ joke when he actually registered his loss. The poor brunette craned his neck to see the goal, his expression dropping with realization.
“What? You cheated!”
I leaned forward while he was busy complaining.
“You’ve been cheating since we started this game. I’d just accept my loss and get ready to eat shitty ice cream, Hughes.” I was quick to kiss him before I stood up, dropping my stick on his chest for effect.
“I want a rematch!”
“Can’t, Jacky. I’m retired.” I’d certainly give him hell about this moment for the rest of our lives.
“Bullshit. One more game.” Jack finally sat up, staring up at me as he held my stick out.
“I can’t, buddy. Not pulling a Tom Brady. I’m retired, end of story.”
“This sucks.”
“Aww it’s okay. How’s about you just come to bed and we can cuddle for a bit instead of the ice cream.” Jack eyed me cautiously, seemingly trying to decide if it was another joke or not.
“I’m not making you eat warm ice cream, Jack.” My tone took on a much more serious sound before I held my hands out to him. “Just come lay with me.” He let me help him get up from the floor, dropping his own stick and nodding.
“Can’t believe you thought I was cruel enough to make you eat that,” I teased.

the return of the honey badger - d.ricciardo
pairings: Daniel ricciardo x reader
warnings: fluff(ish) + made myself cry so idk what to tell you about that
a/n: feedback is always appreciated xx
Tumblr media
you’re happy he gets to spend more time with you. he gets more time working out, wine tasting, messing with merchandise, and all other things to occupy himself from the thrill of the car, but they just aren’t enough.
you can tell he’s longing to get in the drivers seat and whip around those corners once more. you can tell his fingers twitch to hold that steering wheel once more. he’s aching for a task that’s not mundane.
Australia Grand Prix is first time back on the paddock, it’s when he realizes how many of the fans truly miss him. signs, fat heads, shirts, hats, etc. all for him. he’s overwhelmed by the love.
you’re a few feet behind walking with Red Bull security, you catch him smiling with fans, allowing people to embrace him in hugs wishing him well. you know he tells you he doesn’t mind being away, but you know that’s not the truth. he loves the smell of burnt rubber and the sounds of the engine.
you’ve missed that smile on his face, Christian Horner tells him he’s never seen him happier, and truth be told, he’s right. this is where he belongs, not doing silly chores around the house to kill time.
“ah I see you’ve brought the missus.” Christian leans in for a hug which you gladly accept, “and you’ve had lots of free time on your hand!” he points to your growing belly allowing him to press his hands against your stomach.
“he’s going to be a Red Bull driver he’s got the reflexes.” Daniel jokes, three of you moving along to the garage where max and checo were getting situated.
the two drivers are beyond ecstatic to see Daniel. in fact, max is grinning ear to ear you swear it’s like he slept with a wire in his mouth it won’t go away. it’s cute, Daniel has a similar smile that hasn’t stopped growing since stepping foot out of the car.
“Daniel,” Christian pats him on the shoulders, one of the interns is guiding you around the garage behind the two. camera on them both as Christian chats with him, “would you like to test out your car?”
you watch his eyes widen and glimmer with hope.he’s nodding like a little boy, his excitement can’t be contained as the engineers roll the car in until it stops at his feet.
you move closer to get a better look at those famous blue and red colors. you allow your finger tips to run over painted red three on the front of the car. looking up, you see he’s taking it all in. trying to memorize every little beautiful detail, he so badly wants hear her engine but he knows it’ll give his heart too much of hope that one day he’ll get in that car this year.
“soon, Danny.” you move over to him, allowing your nails to gently rake across his back feeling his arm wrap around you now, he nods.
“the honey badger will be back soon.”
