W.U.G. by Chris Fleming and I Won’t Hold My Breath by Thesaurus Rex are about the same guy and that guy is Akio Ohtori, except that WUG is about RGU/SKU Akio and IWHMB is mostly about AOU Akio (I was also introduced to WUG by an Utena AMV so. A little biased)
Choice lyrics include:
WUG:
“You’re dripping with sweat / And you feel so inept”
“Oh! Everyone’s soul leaves their body when they talk to this guy / So I won’t feel guilty when my body remains / But my soul’s on the beach like Andy Dufresne”
“After I make a joke and he doesn’t laugh but he says ‘There’s actually some truth to that’”
The entire fairytale bit. Do I even need to say anything.
“He’s only comfortable with complete control and authority / They should invent something for guys with this kind of affliction / Like a VR system where he can believe he’s in a perpetual state / Of giving you a tour of his house”
IWHMB:
“He fancies himself a great intellectual / He fancies himself a sapiosexual / Prays that you can’t see his tell / Clearly he fancies himself”
“Now he’s pushing forty and he’s finding god / His days of degradation are done / LARPing as a Prodigal Son”
“Now he thinks he’s enlightened / He thinks he’s a Buddhist / He thinks he’s Picasso / He’s painting this brutalist / Abstract expressionist trash”
“…his paintings are conceptual erections”
“Praying for strength to repent / Trying to throw off the scent / He’s the kind of boy that girls write poems about / Crying on their therapist’s couch / Lied and filled their heads with doubts”
“And he’s seeking redemption / In the form of attention”

To Feel Normal Again
Andy Dufresne (The Shawshank Redemption)
We sat and drank with the sun on our shoulders and felt like free men. Hell, we could have been tarring the roof of one of our own houses. We were the lords of all creation. As for Andy - he spent that break hunkered in the shade, a strange little smile on his face, watching us drink his beer. You could argue he'd done it to curry favor with the guards. Or, maybe make a few friends among us cons. Me, I think he did it just to feel normal again, if only for a short while. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
I drew Andy again for another book review, even when it had nothing to do with Shawshank Redemption XD Because I just like him that much and I hated everyone in the book I was reviewing. It was Apt Pupil btw.
You can come and watch draw this piece in the video. Even if you've never read it or don't like it, you can join me and enjoy how absolutely done with everyone I am 😂

Can we know who's currently in the running to be in the poll? Or is it a secret
There's 200+ "valid" submitted characters I will consider, which is in part why how many votes a boy gets will be an influence.
Nothing's in stone until after 6/9/23, but the most submitted Purple Boys (6 or more submissions) at this time are:
William "Purple Guy" Afton from Five Nights At Freddy's (is beating Donatello by one submission).
Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Shinsou Hitoshi from My Hero Academia.
Waluigi from Mario.
Essek Thelyss from Critical Role.
Cecil Gershwin Palmer from Welcome To Night Vale.
Darius Deamonne from The Owl House.
Eridan Ampora from Homestuck.
Kamui Gakupo from Vocaloid.
Purble from Flight Rising.
Spyro from Spyro.
Mollymauk Tealeaf from Critical Role.
Michael Afton from Five Nights At Freddy's.
Lorenz Hellman Gloucester from Fire Emblem.
Kokichi Ouma from Danganronpa.
Liam de Lioncourt from Monster Prom.
Gamzee Makara from Homestuck.
Frank "Doc" DuFresne from Red vs Blue.
Spike from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
Barney from Barney & Friends.
Grimace from McDonald's.
Odd Della Robbia from Code Lyoko.
But the list changes fast, so I only feel confident in saying Purple Guy and Donatello (who are very ahead of the others with 3+ more votes each) and Lorenz Hellman Gloucester (who I promised a spot to) will be there.
If you want a list of EVERYONE in the running, here's a spreadsheet listing every submission (valid or not) in alphabetical order, with repeat names indicating repeat submissions. It's a few submissions outdated, but can give you a close estimate of who I have and who needs more votes.
#asks#not a purple poll#I don't know how many characters I'll ultimately accept but right now I'm thinking 64

"Charivari comprises a cross-cultural range of originally European practices, symbolic means, and purposes. At their most extreme, charivaris approach or even achieve riot status; when benign they are simply playful gatherings. They include noisemaking, house visiting – usually unexpected and late at night – and often pranks. Most are associated with weddings – demonstrating approval of matches the community deemed suitable, or the converse, showing or stirring up disapproval of old/old, old/young, interracial, or inter-religious ones. Still others provide overt negative commentary on individuals’ behaviour, particularly in the political and sexual realms (see Alford 1959; Amussen 1985; Atwood 1964; Burke 1978; Davis 1975, 1984; Desplat 1982; DeVoto 1947; Dobash and Dobash 1981, 1992; Dufresne 2000; Greer 1993; Ingram 1984, 1985; Jones 1990; Kent 1983; Le Goff and Schmitt 1981; Pettitt 1999; Rey-Flaud 1985; Thompson 1992, 1993; Underdown 1985, 1987; Ziff 2002).
There has long been a range of wedding-associated practices usually gathered by academics under the heading of charivari (LeGoff and Schmidt 1981). In English Canada, charivaris were probably historically associated most often with heterosexual marriages considered in some way problematic by the communities in which they took place. In that form, charivari can be understood as an extra-legal mode of social control, ‘to publicly ridicule an object of communal scorn’ (Gilje 1996, 47). Historian Natalie Zemon Davis argues, ‘At best, a charivari in its boisterous mixture of playfulness and cruelty tries to set things right in a community’ (1984, 42). According to sociologists Russell P. Dobash and R. Emerson Dobash in their discussion of historic charivaris, ‘Public shamings were attempts to make unspeakable community grievances and private disputes into matters of community concern’ (1981, 565). At their worst, charivaris were a kind of local terrorism – directed to specifically punish a wrongdoer, but also making an example for the rest of the community to show what would happen if they were to do likewise – culminating, particularly in the case of interracial marriages, in murder (e.g., Moodie 1997; Roberts 2002). However, even negative charivaris by no means always led to bad outcomes; usually the recipients simply paid the charivariers to go away, because ‘accepting to make the payment demanded by the crowd brought charivaris and community disapproval to an end’ (Noël 2003, 61).
Canadian historian Bryan Palmer notes, ‘In nineteenth-century Upper Canada … the charivari was often a force undermining social authority, resolutely opposed by magistrate and police’ (1978, 24–5). Specifically, for example, ‘Three Kingston, Upper Canada, charivaris of the mid-1830s, all directed against remarriage, forced the hand of the local authorities, one leading to two arrests, another necessitating the calling into action of the Summary Punishment Act, the third leading to the creation of a special force of constables, 40 strong, to enforce the peace’ (ibid., 26). Just because it opposed formal legal structures, however, does not mean that charivari was not in its own way a quasi-legal form – enforcing good behaviour by negative example (this is what happens when you step outside the bounds of community morality) as well as punishing specific culprits. Well into the twentieth century, charivaris certainly provided a context for both criminal and civil charges. The combination of guns (used as noisemakers) and alcohol (lubricating the participants) made bodily harm and even homicide a rare but nevertheless predictable outcome. Recipients of charivaris sometimes brought trespass charges, and other illegal acts such as disturbing the peace and public drunkenness also occasioned court cases.
The significance of the quête manifests the charivari’s quasi-legal form. Reciprocity and mutual obligation were significant in working-class culture in the nineteenth century, as evidenced by the practice of the tavern ‘treat’:
Commensurate with early tavern culture was the practice of treating or the buying of rounds of liquor for all men present. Those on the receiving end were obliged to drink and to reciprocate at a later date, and those treating others were obligated by expenditure. Such obligatory expressions of manhood and economic exchange exhibited character and reputation that invoked a certain fraternity among drinking men’ (Wamsley and Kossuth 2000, 417).
[A] 1881 Ottawa charivari ... shows that the wedding of two older people (including the further problematic aspects of differing ages, widow- and widowerhood of the parties, and divorce) called for a payment in recompense to young men. That payment was also clearly part of the culture of reciprocity among those young men themselves, as the first set of charivariers went to a tavern to drink together. In some ways, the charivari treat money was a fine paid by the couple for their contravention of expectation. As Allan Greer argues, ‘More was involved than a simple clearing of the air; charivari was also … a punitive procedure. Victims were punished through both humiliation and monetary extraction’ (1993, 77). That fine, however, needed to be redistributed in a specific way, just as legal fines are paid to the court, not to a wronged individual.
But the notion of reciprocity and sharing of wealth is equally significant in rural cultures, as the examples of early- to mid-twentieth century western Canadian charivaris show. Individuals and communities survived the rigours of farming, economic depression, and wartime (among many others) primarily by working together, and the reciprocity of the treat echoed and cemented the relations involved. However, as the charivari changed from disapproval to a more positive statement, the quête as a collection of money – mere exchange value – was replaced by a treat in the form of specific commodities marking special occasions, such as alcohol, candy, and cigarettes, or, alternatively, as a full-blown party with sociability as well as consumption. Crucially, though it did not involve money, and sometimes not even the sharing of alcohol (though in the alternative, ritual tea and coffee would be served) that often marks a social occasion, this part of the charivari was frequently still called a ‘treat.’ The common nomenclature of charivari/shivaree is not surprising, however, especially considering that it retained the form of a special kind of sharing and reciprocity among community members.
The culture of the rural ‘good sport’ underlines these ideas of redistribution. Good sports are quintessential community participants, who endure hardships together but who also celebrate together. The quality of being able to take a joke, to laugh at oneself as well as at others, extensively comprises the male bonding experience of rural western Canadian good sports (Taft 1997). The development of solidarity means that no one must be consistently elevated or, conversely, debased. This notion of equality persists across the contemporary charivari. Reciprocity employs the notion that no individual should be markedly wealthier than another; similarly, no individual should be ritually raised above others – as happens during a wedding, when the bride and groom are the centre of attention – without experiencing some parallel ritual debasement (often seen in sexualized humiliation in charivari tricks).
The links between the earlier (disapproval) and later (approval) charivari are underlined further by the fact that just because a charivari was intended as a celebration of the wedding did not necessarily preclude damage or harm. Often such events came to the attention of the authorities because of problems that arose. According to folklorist Monica Morrison, who studied New Brunswick serenades:
General questioning also brought [this] response, especially from women. “I don’t like that kind of thing, it can go too far,” followed by a sort of cautionary tale … “This guy he was drunk and he put a fire extinguisher – a fire hose – he put the stuff in it in the groom’s drink … And he drank it and that poor guy was unconscious for two days … and that guy his kidneys were shot and they had to take them out and he died within a week. And that guy who did it, he didn’t know that the chemical was poison, he probably thought it was just water. But that’s where that sort of thing goes’ (1974, 295).

Alano di Castiglione, “Il Duca Regnante di Messina” and “Il Capo Attuale di Casa Castiglione.” One of the nominal, feudal vassals to “Die designierten-Kaiser” or “The Emperors-Elect” of “Il Impero dell’Umanità Secundo” or “The Empire of Mankind Secundus” officially seated at “Nymphenburg,” the provincial capital of “Der Reichstaat” or “The Imperial Demesne” and the ancestral seat of power of “Der Kaiserliche Haushalt” or “The Imperial Household.” “Der Kaiserliche Haushalt” essentially being the “hereditary” or otherwise the “preferential” candidates for the official elections for the title of “Emperor-Elect of Mankind,” as well as the direct descendants of Fürst Heinrich Von Nymphenburg, the first crowned Imperator of “Il Impero dell’Umanità Secundo’” to be officially crowned and anointed by Archpatriarch Demetrius IV, “The 100th Bishop of Romulus” and “The Head of The Conservative Church of The New Gods.” Alano di Castiglione is one of the feudal, hereditary, and dynastic “Imperial Princeps” or “Imperial Magnates” from the “ Frivolo” or “Southern Imperial” cultural and linguistic hemisphere of “Il Impero dell’Umanità Proprio” or “The Empire of Mankind Proper” geographically located within “La Valle Olympiana” or “The Olympian Mountain Valley” within the southern, lesser hemisphere of The Empire of Mankind.
“Il Ducato di Messina“ or “The Duchy of Messina” as the hereditary state of “Casa Castiglione” or “House Castiglione” roughly corresponds to the lands of “Classical Mycenae,” or the constituent heartlands of “The Mycenean Civilization” during the long forgotten epoch of “Classical Antiquity” within the recorded histories of “The Civilized World.” “The Civilized World” according to both the ecclesiastical and the monastic clergy of “The Conservative Church of The New Gods” traditionally and officially seated within The Holy Sept of Classical Romulus, Cosmopoleis as the historic capital, civilizational kernel, and titular namesake of both The Cosmopolitan, Classical Romulan Republic and “The Empire of Mankind Primus” that once dominated the geographic majority of “The Civilized World” and beyond. As well as “The Civilized World” according to the nonconformist preachers of the multitude, or the plethora of “Reformed” and “Dissenter” state churches of The New Gods based on the theological reforms of Karl von Luxembourg and Cassyon Dufresne to the religious establishment of, and institutions of organized religion within The Conservative Church of The New Gods, respectively. It has been universally accepted by both the scholastic, academic communities officially sponsored by the ecclesiastical patronage of The Conservative Church of The New Gods, as well as the scholastic, academic communities officially sponsored by the secular, royal and aristocratic patronage of The Civilized World’s hereditary, dynastic, royal and princely houses, that “The Mycenean Civilization” autochthonous to “Classical Mycenae,” or the constituent lands of modern day “Il Ducato di Messina” is the first, oldest, and arguably the single most prolific Classical Civilization to come from “The Civilized World.” Geopolitically divided into a multitude, or a plethora of hundreds of tiny city-states known as “poleis” in the form of “Monarkhos” or “petty kingdoms” ruled by hereditary and elected kings known as “Tyranos” or “Basileus,” as well as “Aristokratos” or “oligarchical, noble republics” ruled by official, state councils consisting of representatives of the most prominent hereditary, dynastic houses of landed aristocrats and nobles. The “poleis” of Classical Mycenae would establish a significant colonial presence throughout the lands of “Megale Mycenae” or “Mycenae Occidentalis” corresponding with the modern day “Westerlande” under the mercantile, republican rule of the merchant princes and censors of “Die Vereinten Gilden.” As well as a significant colonial presence on the northern and western coastlines of modern day “Le Royaume d’Aquitaine.” Confederated under the elected suzerainty of “Alexios the Conqueror,” the hereditary Basileus of the peripheral Mycenean Monarkhos of “Nikomedeia” as “the igumen” or “the hegemon” of the Nikomedeian-led “League of Galedon.” All of the poleis of Classical Mycenae, as well as the overwhelming majority of the poleis of Megale Mycenae united against the common enemy of the enormous Dravidian Empire largely based on the southern hemisphere of the modern day “Al-Khalifat Al-Khashabar.” Both the Nikomedeian Empire built by Basileus Alexios the Conqueror and his “League of Galedon,” as well as the so-called “Nikomedeian Successor Kingdoms” officially founded by his “Diadochi” or his aristocratic and noble generals and household retainers after the collapse and the partitioning of The Nikomedeian Empire with the untimely passing away of Alexios the Conqueror, would begin the so-called “Eirene Mycenaeca” or “Mycenean Golden Age” of Classical Civilization that was characterized and defined, in equal measure, by the widespread proliferation and the growth of Classical Mycenean culture, religion, and civilization throughout the historic lands of The Former Dravidian Empire and “The Civilized World.” The material, intellectual, and social culture, religion, traditions, and customs of The Mycenean Civilization would leave an indelible mark upon the cultural, religious, and civilizational development of both The Cosmopolitan, Classical Romulan Republic and “The Empire of Mankind Primus.” Which is most explicitly apparent with the formal adoption and the appropriation of the religious worship in “The Primordials” or “The Elder Gods” of The Mycenean Pantheon through the historic conversion of Augustinian Regulus as The First Cosmopolitan, Classical Romulan Imperator of Mankind in syncretic concurrence with the religious worship in “The Olympians” or “The Younger Gods” based on the oral mythologies of The Cosmopolitan, Classical Romulan Pantheon which would later be respectively termed as The Canon Pantheons of The Old Gods and The New Gods since the subsequent events of “The Enochian Heresy” that precipitated in reaction to the formal and official codification, canonization, and formalization of the most widely attested oral traditions of the Classical Mycenean and Romulan mythologies into the canon theology of the “Classical Cosmopolitan” or “Ecclesiastical Cosmopolitan” rite and liturgy of “The Holy Canons of The New Gods” under the theological reforms traditionally attributed to, and personally overseen by The Cosmopolitan, Classical Romulan Imperator of Mankind “Cassadorian the Great.” As well as the so-called “Feudal Age” or “The Age of Chivalry” that would emerge from, as well as characterize the recorded histories of The Civilized World after the final and ultimate collapse of The Cosmopolitan, Classical Romulan Civilization traditionally marking the conclusion of Classical Antiquity. The first major epoch within the traditional, recorded histories of “The Civilized World” is termed as “Classical Antiquity,” as it was the material, intellectual, and social culture, religion, customs, and traditions of The Mycenean Civilization that would set up “the cultural foundation” or “the civilizational bedrock” for both Cosmopolitan, Classical Romulan Civilization, as well as “The Vernacular Cosmopolitan” or “The Post-Cosmopolitan” cultures and states that would characterize “The Feudal Age” or “The Age of Chivalry” within the long and storied, traditional histories of The Civilized World long after the ultimate and final collapse of The Cosmopolitan, Classical Romulan Empire of Mankind Primus.
Under the secular, aristocratic, and princely patronage of Alano di Castiglione as “Il Duca Regnante di Messina” and “Il Capo Attuale di Casa Castiglione.” Professional scholars and academics from “La Università degli Studi di Galedoni Ruggero Quattro” or “The University of Galedon Rogier IV” and professional painters, sculptors, and architects from “La Scuola Braavosia delle Belle Arti” or “The Braavosi School of Fine Arts” in “La Repubblica Serenissima di Toscana” or “The Toscanii Republic” have been officially commissioned to explore and study the remnants of Classical Romulan and Mycenean culture, mythological religion, and civilization within the “Frivoli” or “Southern Imperial” states’ ancestral forebears. Alongside Adriano Martini as “Il Console-Eletto della Reppubbica Serenissima di Toscana” and Ronaldo de Fernandez as “El Marqués Reinante de Estalia.” Alano di Castiglione as “Il Duca Regnante di Messina” and “Il Capo Attuale di Casa Castigione” has become one of the most prolific patrons of the so-called “Olympian Renaissance” or “Il Rinascimento Olympiano” within the “Frivolo” or “Southern Imperial” cultural and linguistic hemisphere. As a material and intellectual cultural movement that originally began towards the end of “The Feudal Age” or “The Age of Chivalry” within The Civilized World’s long and storied, traditional histories. “Il Rinascimento Olympiano” or “The Olympian Renaissance” has had a profound impact on the development of secular art, music, literature, and philosophy. Using the novel technologies of early mechanical printing and papermaking, those exact same technological inventions which would later aid in the mass proliferation of the theological reforms and the treatises of both Karl von Luxembourg and Cassyon Dufresne in the form of their written thesis’ openly condemning the corruption, the abuses, and the worldly excesses of the spiritual, cultural, and moral authority of the ecclesiastical and monastic clergy of “The Conservative Church of The New Gods,” as well as the vernacular translations of The Holy Canons of The New Gods that would come synonymously with the Luxembourgian and the Dissenter reformations throughout and beyond the Empire of Mankind’s established frontiers. Both the vernacular translations of Classical Romulan and Mycenean literary works and philosophical treatises, as well as printed copies of the academic research and the rediscoveries officially penned and drafted by professional scholars, academics, and artists willing to explore and study the remnants of Classical Romulan and Mycenean culture, mythological religion, and civilization within the “Frivolo” or “Southern Imperial” hemisphere of “Il Impero dell’Umanità Secundo” would propel both an elite and a plebeian interest in “Il Rinascimento Olympiano” as a cultural and intellectual movement far beyond the established frontiers of "La Valle Olympiana” or “The Olympian Mountain Valley.” With the philosophical and the intellectual cultural revival of “secular humanism” corresponding in conjunction with the widespread proliferation of secular art, music, literature, and philosophy inherently tied to the official sponsorship of the ecclesiastical and the princely patronage of the academic research and the cultural rediscovery of Classical Romulan and Mycenean culture, mythological religion, and civilization based within the natural, geographic frontiers of “La Valle Olympiana” or “The Olympian Mountain Valley.” Modern scholars and academics within and without the “Frivolo” or the “Southern Imperial” cultural and linguistic hemisphere of “Il Impero dell’Umanità Proprio” or “The Empire of Mankind Proper” are often seen comparing and critiquing both the contemporary society that they live in, as well as that of the previous “Feudal Age” or “The Age of Chivalry” within The Civilized World’s long and storied, traditional histories to the ideals of Classical philosophers. Proliferating the rise of secular philosophy and intellectual culture inherently tied to Classical Mycenean and Romulan philosophical ideals and scholastic traditions of rationality, empiricism, teleology, metaphysics, and aesthetics, as well as expanding both the potential and the inherent capacity of human beings as “thinking, feeling, conscious beings” and of human civilization as a collective whole. And in the process setting new standards and ideals for both the hereditary, dynastic, ruling classes as well as the ruled. Intellectual and material cultural connoisseurs of the academic and artistic rediscoveries and research of “Il Rinascimento Olympiano” have been known to become experts on anything and everything from art, to music, to philosophy, to literary analysis, to political theory, to military strategy, to natural philosophy, to the material sciences, and everything in between.
Apart from his leading role in proliferating “Il Rinascimento Olympiano” as a material and intellectual cultural movement through his secular, aristocratic, and princely patronage of professional scholars, academics, and artists willing to study and explore the remnants of Classical Romulan and Mycenean culture. pre-theological religion, and civilization. As well as his outspoken sponsorship and patronage of the spread and the proliferation of “secular humanism” as a philosophical and an intellectual cultural movement inherently tied to Classical Mycenean and Romulan philosophical ideals and scholastic traditions of rationality, teleology, empiricism, metaphysics, and aesthetics inherently separate, or otherwise detached from the religious dogma and the theological doctrines of “The Holy Canons of The New Gods” as officially preached, proselytized, and prescribed by the ecclesiastical and the monastic clergy of “The Conservative Church of The New Gods” traditionally and officially seated within The Holy Sept of Classical Romulus, Cosmopoleis as the civilizational kernel, historic capital, and titular namesake of both The Cosmopolitan, Classical Romulan Republic and “The Empire of Mankind Primus.” Alano di Castiglione has been plotting in direct cooperation with and in conjunction to Adriano Martini as “Il Console-Eletto de La Serenissima Repubblica di Toscana” or “La Serenissima” to form “La Lega Olympica” “The Olympic League” of “Frivoli” or “Southern Imperial” states campaigning for maximized autonomy from the feudal supremacy and the political excesses of the culturally and geographically distant “Designierte-Kaiser der Menschheit” officially seated at “Nymphenburg,” the provincial capital of “Der Reichstaat” or “The Imperial Demesne” and the hereditary lands of “Der Kaiserliche Haushalt” or “The Imperial Household” directly descended from the dynastic bloodline of Fürst Heinrich Von Nymphenburg as “The First Crowned Imperator of The Empire of Mankind Secundus.” Adriano Martini as “Il Presidente Ufficiale” or “The Official Chairman” of “La Lega Olympica” campaigning for maximized autonomy from the feudal supremacy and the political excesses of “Die designierten-Kaiser der Menscheit” or “The Emperors-Elect of Mankind” has had much difficulty in persuading Ronaldo de Fernandez as “El Marqués Reinante de Estalia” and “El Encargado Attual de Casa Fernandez” to join and complete his “La Lega Olympica” in their campaign to achieve “maximized” autonomy from the feudal supremacy and the poltical excesses of The Emperors-Elect. “La Consorte-Marquesa” to Ronaldo de Fernandez as “El Marqués Reinante de Estalia” is a “legitimate issue” or otherwise a “dynastic scion” of “Der Kaiserliche Haushalt” or “The Imperial Household” officially seated at Nymphenburg, whose dynastic patriarch officially holds the title of Emperor-Elect as “Alexius VI, 101st and reigning Emperor of Mankind and Current Head of The Imperial Household.” Ronaldo de Fernandez as “El Marqués Reinante de Estalia” is also hellbent on cultivating closer political and religious ties with “L’Arcipatriarcato” or “The Archpatriarchy” officially seated within The Holy Sept of Classical Romulus, Cosmopoleis as the civilizational kernel, historic capital, and titular namesake of both The Cosmopolitan, Classical Romulan Republic and “The Empire of Mankind Primus.” As a legitimate issue of Casa Fernandez de Estalia currently holds the title of “Bishop-Preferati” or “Archpatriarchal Protégé” for the next official election to succeed the venerable and ailing Archpatriarch Vexillarius IV for the spiritual, cultural, and moral leadership of The Conservative Church of The New Gods as the next Bishop of Romulus. With the overwhelming majority of “The Curia” or “The College of Cardinals” supporting his official election for Archpatriarch due to the political and religious turbulence, tumult, and upheaval associated with The Luxembourgian and Dissenter Reformations throughout and beyond “Il Impero dell’Umanità Proprio’s” established frontiers. Vexillarius IV as “The 299th and Reigning Bishop of Romulus” and “The Current Head of The Conservative Church of The New Gods” is a natural ally to Alexius VI and The Imperial Household as the hereditary, dynastic, “Imperial Princeps” or “Imperial Magnate” for “Der Reichstaat,” “The Imperial Demesne,” or “Nymphenburg.” As Alexius VI as “The 101st and Reigning Emperor of Mankind” and “The Current Head of The Imperial Household” is supremely reliant on the unanimous support of all three ecclesiastical, invested “Kurfürsten Des Selbst Kaiserreich der Menscheit” to retain his dynastic household’s ancestral monopoly over the official elections for the title of “Designierte-Kaiser.” Especially in an age when most of the secular, hereditary "Kurfürsten Des Selbst Kaiserreich der Menscheit" outside of the staunchly and fervently, Religiously Conservative “Hohenluxembourg Des Königreich Schönbrunn” have formally annulled their spiritual, cultural, and moral ties of fealty to The Holy Sept in Romulus, Cosmopoleis through their legislative decrees to officially convert to either "The Luxembourgian Reformation" or "The Dissenter Theology" on behalf of their dynastic houses and their hereditary subjects. The three ecclesiastical, invested, “Kurfürsten Des Selbst Kaiserreich der Menscheit” essentially being the Bishop-Princes of Griffenheim, Garyalburg, and Elchingen within the clergy of The Conservative Church of The New Gods.
Although supremely sympathetic to the “Die Reformierte Union” or “The Reformed Union” under the leadership of Conrad Von Buchenauer as “Der herrschend Herzog von Solingen,” “Der momentan Chef von Hohenbuchenauer,” “weltlich, übertragen Kurfürst Des Selbst Kaiserreich der Menscheit,” and above all, the self-proclaimed “Defender, Guarantor, and Worldly Champion of Karl Von Luxembourg’s general, sweeping, and universal theological reformation to religious establishment of, and institutions of organized religion within The Conservative Church of The New Gods” with his military, political, and ideological campaign to resist Alexius VI’s designs on enforcing and mandating Empire-Wide religious uniformity over the breadth and the expanse of “Il Impero dell’Umanità Proprio” under the spiritual, cultural, and moral authority, infallibility, and leadership of The Conservative Church of The New Gods traditionally and officially seated within The Holy Sept of Classical Romulus, Cosmopoleis. Both Adriano Martini and Alano di Castiglione as the two leading “Imperial Princeps” or “Imperial Magnates” within “La Lega Olympica” of “Frivoli” or “Southern Imperial” states officially campaigning for maximized autonomy from the feudal supremacy and the political excesses of “Des designierten-Kaiser der Menschheit” are extremely reluctant to conspire in direct cooperation with and in conjuction to Herzog Conrad von Buchenauer and his “Reformierte Union.” As a significant plurality of “The Curia” or “The College of Cardinals” traditionally and officially seated within The Holy Sept at Classical Romulus, Cosmopoleis compose of “legitimate issues” or otherwise “dynastic scions” of the baronial and knightly houses of hereditary, dynastic, feudal aristocracy and nobility from “Il Ducato di Messina” and “La Reppubblica Serenissima di Toscana,” who form a powerful lobby for political, military, and monetary support to both Casa Castiglione as “I Duchi di Messina” and Casa Martini as the longtime “I Consoli-Eletti della Reppubblica Serenissima di Toscana.” As the baronial and knightly houses of The Duchy of Messina and The Toscanii Republic form the feudal, aristocratic levies of knightly retinues and pike-and-shotte infantry regiments who supplement the professional armies of knightly, heavy cavalry and pike-and-shotte infantry paying direct homage and military service to The Hereditary, Dynastic, Dukes of Messina and The Consuls-Elect of Toscana.

Starbucks Prompt Roulette! Some more 20 minute ficlets, having found time to bop away from home and get some writing done :D
Characters: Heidegger & Vincent Prompt: Apocalypse
It was a less than ideal situation, but Vincent Valentine wasn’t the type to leave a person to die. Slumped over his back, Tifa Lockhart continued to mutter that she would be fine. Just let her walk. She could do it.
Vincent had only known her a short time before the world had fallen apart. He knew, or assumed, she was tough. No one owned a bar in the part of town she did with a weak constitution. He’d seen her kick out her fair share of belligerent drunks. Literally—kick them out.
But no one simply walked off being impaled.
Well, he might have tried.
He’d seen her fall, the unlucky plummet directly onto a stray piece of metal and it was with a set jaw that he’d watched the spindle came up through the other side of her. It was lucky for her, however, he had extensive military training. One didn’t survive Black Ops without knowing a few things about survival.
She’d lasted longer than he thought, trekking through the ghost town they’d both been traveling through, both of them on the hunt for survivors. When he came across a house—no—an estate with lit windows, Vincent adjusted his arms a bit, steadying the girl on his back.
He knew this house. He’d been here for luncheons, debriefings and had assisted once or twice in the ah…pulling of information from someone housed in the basement, likely unknown to the lady of the house.
If there were lights on, either General Heidegger was a bigger fool than Vincent thought or they were well armed and didn’t feel threatened. He had a feeling it was the latter.
“Alright,” he said more to himself than to Tifa, “we should find help here.”
He didn’t expect Heidegger himself to open up his home, regardless of Vincent’s service. Tifa’s condition certainly wouldn’t move the old bear an inch, but Vincent wasn’t banking on the kindness of the warmonger; he was praying the warmonger’s wife was still alive. She would go over her husband’s head and give them refuge from those looking on them as prey.
Vincent’s boot crossed from the shattered sidewalk onto what had once been a cobblestone drive (the iron gate lay twisted and discarded in the remnants of a grandiose water fountain) and just as he imagined, several red dots appeared on his chest.
A speaker crackled for a moment before the booming voice of the general was heard.
“This is private property! Turn around before my lads have their way with ya!”
How typical. Vincent didn’t flinch, but he didn’t assert himself either. He was calm, calculating the chance they had for shelter. He raised his voice only enough for the guard in the tower nearest him to hear. No need to strain.
“Heidegger, it’s Valentine.”
There were a few moments of silence as the quiet message was relayed and when the speaker cackled again, it was indeed Mrs. Heidegger who spoke.
“Mr. Valentine! You’re alive!”
“I have a very specific set of skills to keep me this way, ma’am. I have an injured girl with me. Can we barter for shelter?”
He waited patiently for both his message to be heard and a decision to be made. In true Heidegger style, the conversation was heard by all over the loudspeaker, despite the tone of the couple trying to keep hushed. He heard the vehement opposition by the general, a few noises that sounded like scolding smacks to his arm, and the low, compassionate hiss from his Mrs. of ‘of course we have to help them.’ Which was exactly what Vincent had been praying for.
The red dots vanished and the light at the front door flicked on. With a deep breath, Vincent started forward, hoping that inside that house was another person who could help them. The very last person he ever imagined he would have asked the help of.
Professor Edmund Hojo.
Characters: Yazoo & Marie Prompt: Vampire AU
With a deep breath she didn’t need, Lady Marie Dufresne paced the grand parlor, the silk of her gown making an emphatic swish each time she pivoted on her heel. One of her silver haired ‘sons’ stood before the sofa, head down with shame, waiting for her to speak.
“Do you…”
The blonde inhaled again, pausing her march and bringing her hands up to her hair, beset with the skulls of bats and the feathers of birds long extinct.
“Do you have any idea what could have happened to you? What could happen to you? To us?”
His aqua eyes remained fixated on the rug beneath his boots. “I wasn’t seen,” he whispered, “no one saw.”
No one saw. That’s what they all said. She’d seen it for centuries. They were oftentimes the last words of her kind. Someone always saw.
“We are nocturnal for many reasons,” she sighed, “discretion is one of them.”
Yazoo lifted his chin then before casting a listless glance up towards the giant portrait of his older brother, of Sephiroth.
“Big brother simply dealt with these issues. He wasn’t ashamed. He didn’t hide.”
Marie’s chest rose at the insinuation that she was cowardly, protecting them like this, keeping themselves in the shadows as they were created to be.
“I am not ashamed of what we are,” she said quietly, warning in her tone. Yazoo was still a child, a teenager. He hadn’t even been alive when Sephiroth had reigned, bringing terror and bloodshed to the mortals of their world, bringing vampires out of the shadows they thrived in.
And he had paid for his stunt.
“Where is Sephiroth now, Yazoo?” asked Lady Dufresne, sorrow on her face, and in her query. Yazoo didn’t respond, but she thought she might have seen a fraction of emotion pass through his feline eyes.
Stepping forward with a light sigh, her cold, pale hands found his cheeks and she held his face. There was nothing left of Sephiroth, not a single trace, as their death was not limited to immobility. Being dead already, a vampire’s true death erased them from existence entirely, a cloud of smoke dissipating into the air, leaving nothing behind but a memory.
“There are hunters now, my love,” she whispered, caressing the pale flesh beneath his fingers.
“There have always been hunters, mother.”
“From Rome.”
This time his face did change and she saw the fear in it. Individuals out to stake them were one thing. The Church was something else entirely. Rome was organized, educated, wealthy, powerful.
Ruthless.
At the change of expression, Marie caught a whiff of something on him. Deception.
Holding him at arm’s length, she gave him a once over.
“It wasn’t you. You didn’t…”
Of course it hadn’t been Yazoo. Of the triplets, he was the most calculated, the most careful, the most cunning. He wasn’t the one to leave a dozen bodies piled up in the town square and she had been so foolish to spend her time being angry with him, scolding him.
When he cast his glance aside, he confirmed it.
With an annoyed sigh, she dropped her hands, lifting her skirt and with a sharp pivot, stormed from the room in search of one of her other sons.
Kadaj.
Characters: Cloud & Loz Prompt: Caught in a Storm
Cloud didn’t enjoy working with the TURKs, but he wasn’t above admitting they’d all worked well together during the absolute clusterfuck Kadaj and his brothers had caused for him. Big brother, his ass.
Now, as fate would have it, they were all consistently working together. Cloud and his friends, the TURKs (Rude and Tifa were engaged for fuck’s sake) and…the remnants. “Atoning for their wrongdoings” is how Vincent Valentine had put it to Reeve. Vincent Valentine who, Cloud later learned, was supposed to be dead.
But he had not died. In fact, he hadn’t even come close to death. Nope, some old geezer who came before Tseng saw fit to ship him off to some mansion with Hojo’s wife to play house and actually raise Sephiroth’s little brothers.
What. The Actual. Fuck.
And now, because TURKs apparently make such great fathers, Cloud was stuck babysitting some nineteen year old crybaby disguised as a body builder because his assigned babysitter (surprise surprise, another TURK) was off…wedding planning. Cake testing.
Seriously? . To top it off, the sky had opened up.
Loz had argued they didn’t need to stop. It was just a little bit of rain. Was Cloud afraid of getting a little wet?
But no, Cloud was not afraid of getting wet, but heavy rain reduced visibility and if there was one thing he absolutely was not doing, it was losing sight of this silver haired weirdo. In reality, he’d probably just go crying home to mommy and Cloud’s day would improve by being rid of this idiot, but then he’d have to hear it from Reeve, and he’d have to endure the disappointed stare of Vincent and quite honestly, he didn’t feel like dealing with the bullshit from old men today, so he gestured over to an abandoned fuel station and rode towards the building with a reluctant remnant in tow.
Propping up his motorbike, Cloud moved to test the door to see if it was locked.
Loz wasted no time, shattering the glass with his booted foot and stepping through the frame. Yeah, Cloud was getting to that.
“Sweet. Snacks!”
With his arms crossed, Cloud leaned up against the old checkout counter, littered with empty cigarette packs (the first things looted, it seemed), watching a near literal kid in a candy store. Except this kid was twice the size of some grown men and the candy was expired cheesy puffs and energy drinks.
Wait. Did Potion expire? Huh. Maybe that was worth taking. He accepted the one Loz tossed his way.
“Don’t make yourself sick,” he warned, crossing his legs as he watched the remnant tear into some sort of snack cake, “I’m not gonna hold your hair back if you start hurling.”
“Aw, shove it, Big Brother,” Loz replied, mouthful of cake and creme, “you’re just jealous ‘cause I can eat what I want and not get heartburn.”
Damnit. He had him there.

..."Rep. Patrick McHenry is closing out two decades in Congress by returning to the bomb-throwing days of his youth. McHenry, the bow-tied North Carolina Republican who plans to retire at the end of this session, has been ratcheting up his criticism of Johnson in recent weeks over what he views as a serial mishandling of big issues before the House, including government funding, the border and Ukraine aid.
The underlying tension is that McHenry believes Johnson is holding back activity in the House because of fears that he’ll suffer the same fate as his predecessor, Kevin McCarthy. McHenry told reporters last month that under Johnson’s leadership “we’ve yet to actually fulfill and execute policy.” He went further in a CBS News interview last week, warning of a “50-50” chance of a shutdown and calling it a “preventable disaster.”
One banking lobbyist granted anonymity to speak candidly said McHenry “speaks for what I would call the leadership class of the conference.”
“Patrick uses the ‘Shawshank Redemption’ metaphor,” the person said. “Andy Dufresne has to crawl three miles through a pipe full of human shit to go and reach freedom. And Patrick’s like, ‘Well, you can crawl slowly, or you can crawl quickly.’ … The analogy is supposed to be like, just make a decision.”
McHenry’s public critique of Johnson and the path that led him here is an illustration of the extent to which the House GOP has been turned upside down during his tenure. The 48-year-old lawmaker was once a self-described “bomb-thrower” — also referred to by others as the “the GOP’s attack dog-in-training” — but then took on the mantle as an aspiring deal-maker and McCarthy fixer before finding himself on the outside again in the Johnson era.
“You’re getting extreme candor from Patrick based upon his 20 years of work on the Hill,” said Rep. Garret Graves (R-La.), another McCarthy ally, in an interview. “Patrick’s candor is not just motivated by the fact that he’s leaving. But I think it’s motivated by an extraordinary amount of frustration that he feels.”
Some House and Senate Republicans say it’s not helpful, but McHenry told POLITICO on Thursday that he’s voicing concerns shared by others in his party.
“I’ve been around leadership decisions for quite a while,” he said. “I’ve never been bashful about sharing my views, either in the room or outside the room. And what I’m saying is obvious to a majority of the House Republican Conference.”
McHenry told reporters last month that “many House Republicans that took out McCarthy recognize that we’re in a much worse public policy position now because of this.” He slammed colleagues for becoming “enamored with all this other bullshit.”
