Hotel Chinzanso Firefly Fantasy

May 20th — July 3rd Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is a first rate hotel in Bunkyo Ward with a large, beautiful Japanese garden. While a night’s stay would cost you upwards of ¥80,000, the gardens are free to enter — and one of the best places in Tokyo to see the fireflies. The garden is open from 9am until 10pm, and late evening is said to be the best time to view the little creatures.

所用で久しぶりにホテル椿山荘東京に出かけました。

1992年にフォーシーズンズホテル椿山荘東京として開業しましたが、今見てもフォーシーズンズらしい重厚な内装で格調高いですね。 江戸時代は久留里藩黒田氏の下屋敷で、このあたりは台地の端にあり昔から景勝地として有名だったそうです。1878年、明治の元勲　山縣有朋が庭園と邸宅を構え「椿山荘」と命名しました。ホテルの経営は藤田観光。

イル・テアトロ（メインダイニング、イタリア料理）で朝食です。

オルタナティブ・ブレックファースト (Healthy & Well-balanced)、つまりヘルシーブレックファーストですが、ちょっと変わっていたのでこれを注文しました。

メニューは １）大皿　豆乳とキヌアのパンナコッタ、鶏むね肉 十六穀米 フレッシュ野菜のサラダ ２）小皿　ほうれん草のソテーとスモークサーモン、ポーチドエッグを添えて ３）米粉パン ４フレッシュジュース、コーヒー

でも、あまりにもヘルシー過ぎて、物足りなかったでした。 これならば、フツウのアメリカン・ブレックファースト（大きなベーコン、ソーセージがついたお好みの卵料理がついてきます）の方が良かったかも（笑）

The first thing you might notice upon arrival is that the hotel smells fantastic. It’s the kind of subtle, calming aroma that makes you sniff twice, all the better to appreciate the notes of camellia, natsumikan citrus, cypress, and kuromoji tree. While it’s not wholly unheard of for luxury hotels to smell incredible (there’s a whole cottage industry around scent branding), Chinzanso’s signature scent nods to the hotel's history.

On January 19th, Brideco held their annual New Year’s World Lolita Collection event at Hotel Chinzanso, an award-winning venue in Tokyo, featuring a Japanese garden oasis contrasted with a luxurious Western style interior. Brideco presented over 20 global street fashion brands in their 2-part runway show. Brands from North America, Asia, and Europe were modeled on the runway alongside a grand instrumental performance and spectacular rock ballad sung by the Brilliant Kingdom.

The theme of the event was nature’s elements: Princess of Flowers, Bird Princess, Princess of Wind, and Moon Princess. It was fascinating to see attendees from different parts of the world with unique interpretations of lolita fashion, and the incorporation of the elemental themes into their coordinates. Coordinates included ethereal angels, pastel fairies, as well as floral Wa lolita looks. Other attendees wore vibrant Qi lolita looks with influences from imperial courts and fantasy martial art films. The elegant event was an evening of kawaii culture and lolita fashion influence across the world, being celebrated in its birth place of Tokyo.
