"This," John's got the sharp edge of a frown, and both arms crossed across his blue-clad chest, "is not what I was expecting when Scott made me come down to run those sims."

The rescue claxon had sounded halfway through Brains' latest tryout for the gecko gloves, and Scott had been more than happy to insist that John join them in person for some on-the-ground experience.

And so the astronaut is currently waist-deep in sewage water, wading doggedly through the darkness with Gordon -who is significantly deeper in the water than he is- at his side. The tunnel's just low enough that John has been stooping uncomfortably the whole time, but somewhere along here has to be the gas main they're looking for. They need to shut it off before Virgil, up top, can dig any further for survivors.

John roughly shoves his helmet back on, having removed it to scrub rivulets of sweat from his brow with a dirty sleeve. He manages to smack his head on the brickwork in the process and hisses something under his breath in an unrecognisable language that might just have been swearing.

From behind borosilicate plexiglass, John squints at the pipeline glowing from the holomap at his wrist. The neon glow fritzes appallingly with static. There must be some kind of heavy metal in the dirt around them interfering with the signal. John's fingers itch for Thunderbird Five's smooth, flawless control over the situation... and for her ground-penetrating radar to tell him exactly what those metals are.

It'd sure make things faster.

A sloping rebar-and-concrete structure on the surface above them is all that remains of an outbuilding of an outdated hydraulic fracking complex. International Rescue are currently trying to retrieve workers from the rubble, following a drilling-induced earthquake, and the tunnel they're in is far from what John would class as ‘structurally sound’.

The only light down here comes from the lamps atop their helmets and Gordon's megawatt smile. Lucky for him, John got paired with the literal ball of sunshine because he's finding being down here, and not 22,400 miles up in orbit... challenging.

In the whole “what would the Starks do if Jon’s parentage ever came to light” debate, the most interesting figure to me is Robb Stark. Ned is already caught between a rock and a hard place: duty and love to both his king and his sister’s son, though he already committed treason once to save Lyanna’s boy. Catelyn the embodiment of the Tully words, “family, duty, honor”, is fiercely loyal to her husband and children - but not to Jon. So if she was ever put in a position to choose, it’s obvious what she would do. Then there’s Robb. He’s his father’s heir, his mother’s pride. He’s named after Robert Baratheon, the ruling king of the seven kingdoms, as a testament to his father’s upbringing and love for his friend. But Jon is his brother; his best friend; his greatest companion. Where Ned’s choice would leave him conflicted, Robb doesn’t share the same loyalty to the king. So when forced to fight for the crown or his brother’s life, he’d obviously choose his brother. Which would be an interesting twist of fate. Ned and Robert rebelled for their lives many years prior. How interesting it would be for the boy who bears Robert’s name and the boy who bears Ned’s face to rise in rebellion again.

It was late into the evening, Rein was at his campsite, laying in his tent trying to get some kind of sleep. He always had trouble getting back to sleep after a nightmare, but he could swear that tonight, he heard someone walking around.

With a heave, he sat up, wanting to go investigate, not eager to get back to his unrestful rest.

He put on a light shirt and pants and picked up his axe as he followed the sound, trying to be as stealthly as his stupidly big feet could carry him. He wondered who would be wandering? And if they would be afraid or intrigued like him.

Only one way to find out!

The dawn of November 1, 1945.

With the chaos of a recently graduated Tom Riddle sent out into the world, and the ministry breathing that much more down Albus Dumbledore's neck for the last few weeks after he'd been forced on "administrative leave" by the ministry while he was in their custody for the last several weeks, beaten and tortured until he gave into their demands to duel Gellert Grindelwald once more. He knew his husband's actions had grown more horrific over the years that even he could not ignore, and between that, the torture...

He had accepted.

The ministry was unaware of his possession of the resurrection stone, given to him by Flamel in case things turn for the worst in that duel. He's made enough potion to live out the next fifty years with himself and his wife- Should Albus not come home from this. Days before, he had sent out a letter. Part of him hoped it did not make it to him, or he would simply ignore his ridiculous quest for a final duel, to see who would finally come out on top. Or, in the ministries eyes.. If good would triumph over evil.

For the greater good.

Days later, he had anxiously arrived at that location, dressed in his usual attire. His wand was grasped tightly in his hand, other shoved in his pocket, wrapped tightly around the stone in his pocket. He had used illusion charms to hide what a wreck he really looked like, after what the ministry had put him through for the last several weeks. In his weakened state he might've still been quite the formidable opponent- But the ministries underestimated Grindelwald when it came to Dumbledore. He truly didn't know who would triumph this time. He hoped so desperately that the letter had not made it, or he would refuse.

The Captain was standing to the side, hands laced behind his back. He was at the stadium, but for what? He didn't have any need to be there, but he had a feeling someone wanted-- no, needed something from him. Capitano didn't know who though. The locals didn't try to walk up to him and interact, so it couldn't be the locals needing something. He lifted his helmet up to the sky, looking at the glimmering sun, blazing away in the sky and delivering warmth to anyone who dared to walk into the light instead of the shadows. The plan was almost halfway over, but he had an itching feeling the last battle will not go too well. Maybe that was it? He needed to speak to the archon?

Shaking off the feeling, he relaxed in his standing position, soon crouching down so he didn't have to properly sit and ruin his jacket with the bacteria on the ground .. even if it was clean. His ears twitched and he turned his head. Capitano's eyes narrowed slightly when he heard several footsteps. Eh, it was probably locals. He turned his head back, staring at the sun and zoning out. For several minutes, the captain was crouched down before finally getting up, ready to excuse himself from the stadium.

So apparently Pokémon Presents told us we’re getting a new Legends game based in Kalos, rather than anything about Gen 5 remakes

And you know honestly, I’m cool with that, I think I prefer that. Kalos got barely any attention even in its own generation, not even getting a rerelease/sequel, which all the generations before and even the one after it got (Gen 8 and 9 didn’t get that, but they got DLC which basically acts as an addition to the story, which still applies here). Not to mention we know Kalos has lore from ancient times, and we’re probably gonna see it now in this game, which is really cool

Like yeah, I’m pretty sure Kalos isn’t seen as one of the best regions, but it’s finally getting more attention from Game Freak, and I’m happy to see that

Also I think BDSP has shattered my faith in Pokémon remakes, so I’m kind of glad Gen 5 isn’t getting one. They’ll probably save it for Gen 10 if we’re being honest

Edit: wait I just looked at more info (I didn’t see the Presents, I had class, but I just saw the news), this might take place in a futuristic Kalos? I don’t really know, but just then take what I predict about it with a grain of salt

Seele, finding herself with a lot more free time than usual, looks at hypothetical spots for a vacation... (open starter)

Belobog has been at a small state of peace, since the end of the Eternal Freeze. The Silvermane Guards and Wildfire have been hard at work in tandem to ensure the safety of the people, both above and under. As such, there hasn't been too stressful of work to do as of late.

In fact as a result, Seele has found herself with more free time than usual. She leans along the walls outside the Clinic, scrolling through her phone absentmindedly, a brief respite from helping Wildfire. This absent-minded scrolling through her phone had caused a thought to surface.

Where would be a good place to have a vacation?

A vacation! A means of spending free time with a fun trip in mind. A way to be able to let off some steam and make new experiences while doing so! Even then, that doesn't stop the inevitable doubt when it comes to planning a vacation...

But, damn, would I be able to? Would Nat or Oleg, or even...Bronya be mad at me for taking a vacation? Mmh, what if they wanted to come with? Would that be too many people at once?

Such thoughts always surface in the face of possible free time away from one's work. A confusion of if such an idea would be okay to ask for, a confusion of...where she would even go?

There's that...Dreamscape I heard so much about. Or even that fleet of ships maybe? Where would we even go for a vacation...?

The treacherous part of vacation approaches: determining where to go. What would even be the best, the most reasonable, option for her in this case...? Where would any friends even want to travel to with her...? So many questions, and too few of an answer for each...

i feel as if im going mad so im going to just put this out here. real quick. movieunleashers starters ramble.

i cant stop thinking about how mudkip broke down in that one scene in "Typomaniac," when Chespin called him mean. for a second he lets his mask slip a little bit and to me he just... acts his age. he starts crying and calls chespin mean back. maybe im just hyperfocusing on this one detail but mudkip is about 12 years old.

and that just makes me wonder what happened in this guys life that brought him to where he is now. and it makes it all the more tragic how his whole world revolves around chespin, but he is the one bringing him the most pain. and how young he was when he died.

there is a large theme of growing up in "Rare Candy." the characters ages are emphasized in that particular episode, and one of the main conflicts is fennekin wanting to evolve faster.

the thing about characters in these stories is that they're not allowed to just be kids, to have a childhood. so many bad things happen to them. like. mudkips whole, Everything. fennekin when she was famous in typomaniac, or dealing with her own insecurities/pressure from society about her relationship w chespin. and chespin always having to shoulder his friends problems & always somehow managing to stay positive despite everything.

why cant they just. play video games. eat ice cream or something. go to the movies

at the end of the day, i think both mudkip and fennekin are characters who grew up too fast. by distancing himself from them, chespin refused to follow in their footsteps and just wanted to stay a kid.

[ OPEN STARTER || THE BURNING BLADE ]

Flames billowed up out of the Burning Blade's maw like oil had been poured directly onto its source. Thick black smoke poured up over her bow, and seawater boiled as it lapped against her. She was anchored, sails furled, and for the most part not currently in use. Despite this, her core was blazing like it was worked up over something.

She was already an odd vessel, but at times she appeared to have a mind of her own. Her front-facing flamethrower was pointed inwards towards the shore where she was docked, so it would be wise to make sure it wasn't about to misfire..

uh, hi! long time no see? sorry for vanishing for so long, had some issues im still sorta working thru but errrm, working on a hq redesign! and might take up doing this blog again, not as often and as frequently as before - i also have to in general catch up with pressure stuff in general but methinks i might make a return, i miss doing this and i feel like a fresh start on both blogs will help!
