Shopping Trip With One Piece Characters
Part of a trade with the awesome @softcenteregg
Tumblr media
Doffy - The very definition of “Get in loser, we’re going shopping!”
Has money but you will have to pay for him all day when it comes to lunch and drinks.
Will be sitting at a restaurant at 11 am with a cocktail as he tells you about his week, regardless of if you asked or not.
Checks out the mall hotties.
Laughs when people open push/pull doors wrong.
Always has a cocktail or a Starbucks clutched in one hand, waving his credit card around in the other hand.
Rude to salespeople.
You will be dragged through the mall for hours because he needs to go into every designer shop he can and try on at least seventeen pairs of $400 sunglasses or he’ll die.
Will be the most overdressed person in the area,
When your having lunch with him and he sees someone he doesn’t like, he will be like “Oh hey! Been so long since we hung out, should do it again soon!” then soon as they're gone he’s dishing the dirt.
Also, you will carry his bags, thx.
Roger
Makes you wish you could get those reigns for kids but in adult sizes.
In fact, the entire trip is like taking a child out for his birthday.
Ever seen a huge bearded man grinning in pure glee at the new limited edition Build a Bear products? Ever seen one make like 12?
Do yourself a favor and limit his booze and sugar intake.
Is confused he can’t do a pub crawl in a mall.
Buys alot of those ‘alcoholic chocolates’ by the box load in an attempt to get a nice buzz going.
Thrift shopping but he will try on everything he can.
Does not know how to dress but does it with style, oddly enough.
You won’t get a chance to sit down or rest unless it’s dinner time.
At least he’ll sleep well tonight.
Kid
Hit’s all the stores that sell music and band merch.
Will snort at people who buy things he doesn’t like.
Throws around words like ‘poser’ and judges everyone.
The kinda metal kid who hangs out at the mall with all the wallet chains looking like their parents grounded them, but in their late 20s.
Will spend hours looking for CDs and just say he’s too broke and he’ll download it online anyway.
Walks around the mall trying to find the right shade of lipstick with Killer, both their arms and hands are covered in testers before they both just get more black nail varnish and the same shade they always buy.
Has a reusable plastic cup that's full of jack and coke.
Taunts mall cops.
Killer
Imagine all of the above but he also spends alot of time looking at fancy new cook wear.
Will spend nothing on food all day but will drop $90 on a brand new crockpot or air fryer for the kitchen.
Very metal of him.
Thatch
Thatch is fun to go with.
Treats you, buys the coffee and lunch.
Is happy to do whatever you want as long as he gets to check out homeware sections while you look at your things.
You will never lose him behind shelves because you can always see his hair.
Like Jaws but with hair and ozone layer murdering levels of hairspray.
Will flirt with staff, will get talking to them for far too long, and hold up the line.
The type of person who has alot of change and makes it a personal challenge to count out change exactly.
Will carry your bags though, he’s a good boy.
Bit judgey on eatery places pastries.
Shanks
I hope you enjoy getting nowhere because when you're at a mall with Shanks or out and about in town you will be stopping every ten steps because someone recognises him and comes over and chats.
Has no concept of how long he’s been talking.
Is the type to have a pint with breakfast or brunch when you guys hang out.
Sale on ugly pants? He’d push you down to get there first.
Always texting the gang when he’s out.
Lol Benn guess what, I saw Buggy and he was with that guy, you know, the one with the hook, lol lol
Will drop Uta off at the mall kids' soft play area even though she’s 18 and still forget to pick her up before leaving.
Ace
Low key baits mall cops by loitering around and looking like an issue but has no intention of being an issue.
Might skateboard inside the mall.
Poses with ‘no skateboard’ signs.
Hopefully, there isn't an arcade in the mall because if you had any intention of getting things done today, that won’t happen now.
Hungry every 20 minutes and has to grab snacks.
100% the kinda friend/boyfriend who sits on the seats outside the changing rooms holding all the bags and groaning, acting like it’s the worst thing in the world.
Is one of those people who opens push/pull doors wrong.
Marco
After taking five minutes to park correctly he’s happy to go with the flow.
Likes to have a coffee and a people watch with you, chatty and social.
But he will drag you to shoe stores and you will be sat there for ages as he tries on every strappy sandal in the place, walking up and down and asking you what you think.
“I like this one but I don’t know if it makes me too tall yoi.” while you can’t for the life of you tell the difference between that pair and the last 40.
If you meet him at the mall he might be late, very much the shows up 20 minutes late with Starbucks.
Has a tendency to wander off in shops and you spend half your time looking for him.
Doesn’t give a warning when entering a shop if something shiny caught his bird brain.
Benn
He hates the mall.
Imagine a dad who has to take his teenage daughter clothes shopping and that’d basically be him with Shanks.
Benn is a very ‘I know what I am here for’ in and out kind of person but he doesn’t mind going to other places with you.
Ignores staff-only signs when he knows there is a smoking area on the other side of that door.
Is the person to remind you of the ‘insert thing here we have at home’ and is a shop sensible person, though he won't say anything if you do buy another T-shirt that looks exactly like the one you already have.
Pretends to be annoyed at carrying the shopping, but he offered and he likes to help you out.
If you complain about your feet hurting he’ll helpfully tell you he told you to wear your other shoes.
Sabo and Luffy
Banned
Both have their pictures up in the security office.
Sabo for giving the mall cops the finger, graffiti, and shoplifting.
Luffy peed in the fountain and kept stealing pick-n-mix.

Wait, so those little mini resin foods I love so much are called miniverse? Do you think you could tell me more? I've always vaguely wanted to get into making like, the lil resin or clay fake foods because honestly I've always found them absolutely adorable, but I thought it'd be a lot harder than buying some kits, it looks like you're doing? This is so exciting :D !
Yeah! I've always loved those videos of people making very very small foods, so when I found out there's kits for them easily available I was so happy! They're sold under the name "MGA's miniverse make it mini" or something like that, and they're typically $7-10 per kit, blind bagged (although most have a pinhole marking to denote what's inside, there's guides for it). They're sold in most major stores where they keep the other blind bags. Here's an example of how they come, apologies for the potato quality photos (they're from a night where I was demonstrating to friends the before and after):
Tumblr media
(although I did some small edits and additions--the original kit comes with white chocolate chips instead, and the "mint leaf" is actually a basil leaf from a pasta kit I did previously)
The chocolate sauce is actually a teeny bottle of UV resin! I put everything together to get:
Tumblr media
Ta da! Tiny mint chip ice cream that won't melt! (And I had plenty of the oreo halves left over for another day! Typically you get more of the sprinkle-on-top bits than you need)
They're super simple and fun, and I've been really enjoying them! Right now they're releasing a ton of new kits: new waves of their normal food and homewares lines, and also a beverages line and a Halloween one! I think everything's meant to be on shelves by around mid August, but you can sometimes catch them early online. If you decide to give it a try, I suggest also getting a cheap UV flashlight, I got this one and it works like a dream!
(also, the requisite warnings about working with resin, wear a mask and latex gloves, it can cause skin or respiratory irritation, etc etc)

Coquette Summer
Bucket List: ☀️🧺🌸
Some ideas for your summer 2023 bucket list. Coquette activities, trips, days out and things you can do with friends or alone. Write these ideas in your journal and make your own bucket list if you like! <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Go on a picnic ~ You can do this with friends or on your own! Take an aesthetic picnic blanket and basket, pack fruit, sandwiches, salad, cookies, cupcakes (whatever you like!) and have a Coquette picnic. Dress cute for the occasion and make sure to take lots of pictures <3
Host a Tea Party ~ Invite friends over and decorate your dining table with a pretty tablecloth. Grab fancy cups and saucers (you can find these in antique stores, or better yet a whole tea set complete with a tea pot!) and have a tea party. Drink rose or jasmine tea, have scones, bread & jam, miniature sandwiches, cookies/biscuits, cake. You could even do it Marie Antoinette, high-tea inspired. Dress all regency and cute and make it the fanciest, coquette, tea party ever! <3
Beach day ~ Grab your heart shaped sunnies and have a beach day! Bring a pink towel with you, a large pretty sun-hat, and make sure you pack all the pretty-girl beach essentials. Tanning lotion, a romance novel, fresh fruit, a blanket to sit on (if you don’t have a deck chair) sun cream (spf) lipgloss, a hair brush, and your camera to snap some cute beach shots! Walk down the boardwalk, listen to Lana and grab an ice cream, wear pink flip flops and a cute pink and white gingham bikini <3
Berry picking ~ Wear the most dreamy, float cottage-core, princess dress, a large sun hat and take a wicker basket with you to go berry picking. You can book a slot online and go into a local field. Take pictures and pick ripe berries to take home with you, ready to use for baking later on in the week <3
Baking day ~ Wear a cute little apron, put Lana on your record player in the kitchen and have a baking day! Bake cherry pie, heart-shaped cookies, jam cookies, chocolate-chip cookies, scones, cupcakes, an actual cake… anything and everything! Take cute photos when you bake, it can be great to make memories with friends. Once you’ve baked all your sweet treats, package them up and choose some to give to friends and family, some for later occasions (picnics & tea-parties) and most importantly… some for you! <3
Go to a market ~ If you live in the country there are loads of cute farmers markets on in summer. Keep some money back with you, wear a long, flowing style skirt and a bow in your hair and take a cute tote-bag to keep everything you buy in. Look for small Coquette trinkets on some of the handmade stalls, buy fresh fruit and lemonade for lunch and have a slow, relaxing day at the market <3
Antique shopping ~ Go antique shipping. For your room or house. You can find so many beautiful, Coquette homeware items, clothes, trinkets, jewelry and much more in antique shops. Google the best ones in your area, set aside a day, and go <3
Try out new café’s in your area - Google fancy café’s or even café’s that do afternoon tea. You could go with friends or have a solo cafe trip. Bring a book with you if you go on your own, to read. Or a sketchbook to sketch the world around you. Try something new on the menu! <3
Coquette movie day ~ Plump out your bedroom or living room with pink pillows, fairy lights, candles and lavender room spray. Put on the comfiest pair of pajamas you have Grab snacks, popcorn, anything you baked earlier in the week, fresh fruit (anything you like!) And have a whole day of watching JUST coquette movies. Disney princess films, any period drama’s, any mystical and magical movies, romance movies. Movies that are super light-hearted and make you feel like the princess you are inside. This is really fun to do with friends too! <3
Jewelry making ~ Learn how to make prettt, coquette jewelry. I always see such cute jewelry online and want to know if I can make it myself. The kits might be a bit pricy to buy, but once you’ve built up a jewelry making collection your all set! Make some summer earrings, necklaces, and bracelets <3
Learn to Crochet ~ Something I have wanted to learn for ages! There are tons of tutorials on YouTube and you can pick up pretty colored yarn from the market. If you are really good you can crochet things for the summer like tank tops, bikini sets and headbands! <3
Start a summer journal ~ Or just start journaling in general. I’m making a summer journal full of scrapbook pages I can add all of my coquette summer pictures too when summer is over. Decorate it with coquette stickers and really make it your own. Get creative <3
Have a self care day ~ It’s not sunny everyday in Summer (usually) so set aside one of the cloudier or cooler days for a movie day, or self care day! Wake up early and have an everything shower, and take care of YOU! Do a face mask, manicure, pedicure, do every step to your skincare routine, wash and remake your bed, tidy your room. By the end of the day you will feel like a new person and trust me it’S WORTH IT! <3
Have a sleepover ~ You kinda need friends for this one. I’m sure everyone knows how to have one but do really coquette activities! Paint each others nails, style each others hair, Watch coquette movies, talk about boys. All the classic things you see in the girly movies that you feel never actually get done at sleepovers… do them! Order pizza, do face masks, bake things, and stay up as late as possible for a… midnight feast! <3

Everything and the Kitchen Sink pt1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Phillip Graves x Fem! Reader
Summary: You meet Phillip at your local homeware store while figuring out how to fix your sink
Genre: Fluff
Words: 3.2k
Warnings: None
Reminder: This is purely fiction and will have no correlation to in game character or backstory
Masterist Here !!!
Tumblr media
You had taken it upon yourself to repair the sink so you decided to visit your local homeware store to purchase the necessary tools. However, you were faced with the challenge of not having any knowledge about appliance tools. "What to do?" As you muttered to yourself in frustration, you noticed a man standing a few feet away. When he noticed your intense gaze, he turned around and greeted you. “Can I do something for you?” Your intense gaze focused on the materials in front of you. Biting your lip as you scan over every pipe and fitting to find the one you quickly scribbled down on the first piece of paper you saw before rushing out of your house. Noticing a man down the same aisle as you, you look over at him debating if you should ask him for help. He seemed to notice you before you did and his voice seemed to startle you. "Oh ... Umm yeah. My kitchen sink sprung a leak and I need to find the right things to fix it and I seem to be as useless as a white crayon." The man could not help but chuckle at your amusing analogy.
“You know, as much as I’d love to laugh at your comparison, I understand that it must be frustrating to be confused in an unfamiliar environment.” He gestured to the large array of products in front of you. “You definitely chose the most confusing part of the store to get lost in. I’m Phillip Graves, and I’d love to help you pick out the correct pieces for your leaky sink.” "Go ahead, laugh. I'm not wrong. I'm so confused here." I giggle. You introduce yourself and smile up at him. You hand him over the scrap piece of paper with the scribbles of what you need on it. "Seems I need a few things. Sink spraying water from a few places. Say I need a tailpiece, a swivel P- Trap, a housing and a drain elbow. And none of that makes sense let alone what it looks like." “Oh boy! Your sink has definitely sprung some issues.” The man eyed the paper closely, he was impressed by the detailed information you had provided about the problem. “What a surprise to see that a woman as gorgeous as you is taking on plumbing! Your paper indicates that you are pretty knowledgeable with your parts and their functions. I’d gladly help you find the pieces and answer any questions you have as we search.”
"Oh no don't get that idea, I took photos and compared them to a deconstructed photo of a sink online to make sure I was getting the right thing. Not that knowledgeable, I don't know how to fix the damned thing once I go back home." You follow Phillip down a couple aisles to make it to the plumbing section to find the correct items to fix your sink. "Ah, I see. You're quite the crafty planner, aren't you? You certainly came prepared for fixing your little plumbing issue and that shows how smart and resourceful you are." Phillip complimented you with a sweet smile. He continued guiding you to the aisle that held the parts on your list. "This one looks like the one you need for your tailpiece." He pointed to a black and chrome metal joint. "Oh thank you. I had to come prepared though. I can't really afford to hire a plumber right now." I smile weakly back at him. He picks out the tailpiece and you grab the drain elbow a couple of rows over from him. Standing back you scan the shelves to see if you can find the last two pieces left on your list. Phillip kept nodding as he understood your current financial situation; he had gone through something similar before. “Ah! Here’s the P-Trap piece, and lastly, we have the housing.” He picked out the last two pieces you needed from the shelves and collected them both.
“I think that’s all you need. Let me know if I can do anything more to help.” "Thank you Phillip I really appreciate your help." You thank him profusely. "Oh gosh. I've just realised I've taken you away from what you're doing here. Can I try and help you gather what you need as a thank you?" A sweet smile formed on his face at your offer.  "That would be really sweet of you; let me think, I'll need a couple of wooden boards, a circular saw for a project, and some light-weight fabric." He scratched his head as he tried to remember what else he needed. "May I ask what for? Is it for home?" You're already heading in the direction of the fabric aisle knowing easily where that is. Your curiosity made him chuckle softly, he would gladly tell you what the fabric was for. "Actually, I'm creating a play castle for my young son. He's been asking for one for a while, so I figured it'd be more special if I built it myself."
Your features soften as he mentions it's for his son. "Oh Phillip, that's so cute and thoughtful of you. We're going to find the perfect fabric for this castle." Trailing over all the fabrics you stop at a dark blue one with gold stars on it. You haul the long roll of fabric out to show Phillip. "I'm not sure but this is pretty perfect to me." I say "obviously you can say no though."  Phillip's eyes shone at the sight of the fabric. "Oh wow, this fabric is incredible. Its vibrant tones and vibrant colours really capture what I want to portray for this project. It matches with the overall aesthetic of the play castle." "Thank you for picking it out. I'm sure that my boy will adore it. He loves the stars and these are quite exquisite!" "I'm glad I could help you Phillip. It's the least I could've done after you helped me in my predicament." You could tell that he loves his son a lot.
"I don't mean to come across strong but if you need pillows or blankets made for  the inside of this little fort then... I mean I sew." Phillip could not resist but to raise an eyebrow at your offer. "Oh? You sew too?" he asked with a smirk, he could not believe how many skills and talents you have. "Well, I suppose I would need some pillows and a couple of blankets to make the play castle feel cosy for my dear boy. Could you be able to craft those?" "Of course and saves you money on a professional seamstress as well... Well all of the money, you don't have to pay me of course." I measure out the fabric to a rough amount for the blankets and pillows. Cutting it and placing it in the basket with the plumbing materials for the sink. "That is very sweet of you, but I could never accept something like that without at least giving you a little something in return." To show you that he was willing to pay, he pulled out a twenty dollar bill and held it out for you. "At least take this. You can get yourself a nice drink or something for being such a great help." "Please I insist it's okay. I mean I won't take too long to complete anyway so it won't take much time at all." I push his hand back to refuse the twenty dollar bill.
"All I ask, if it's not too much, is your number so I can message you when they're complete." A soft blush formed on Phillip’s cheeks as he tried to conceal the growing smile that was growing in his heart. Your request warmed his heart and made him truly believe that this encounter was not an accident, as if fate itself was bringing the two of you closer. “You’ve done so much for me already that I’ll gladly accept. Please take my number.” You take out your phone and hand it to him to put in his number. Instantly messaging him that it's you. "I appreciate all your help Phillip but I have a leaky sink to go and try to fix. I'll message or call you when the cushions and blankets are finished." You smile before turning on your heel and heading to the cashier to pay. Before you took your leave, Phillip offered one last smile of affection and said, "Sounds like a plan. I hope you have great luck fixing your sink."
As you walked away, he could not help but smile in satisfaction. His son was going to be extremely delighted with this gift, but the prospect of having another interaction with you brought him just as much joy. You pay for the items then drive back to your flat to try and fix the sink. You put on a step by step YouTube video to explain how to fix it. As you're doing so you unscrew something that wasn't meant to be and water sprays in your face. Trying to quickly screw it back in. You grab a towel and start wiping at your face and hair. You debate calling Phillip as he mentioned he was handy at DIY. Your fingers hover over the dial buttons before hitting call and putting it on speaker phone so you can look at instructions online while on call. You hear a few rings before Phillip finally picks up the call. The sound of his voice instantly calms you down. “Hello…is everything alright?” His worry quickly spread through his tones. It was apparent that he was concerned for your wellbeing when he heard the water spraying behind your words. "Hi Phillip, sorry to call you like this but I am definitely as useless as a white crayon when it comes to fixing this sink. I've just drenched myself." Phillip could not conceal his amusement at your remarks. At least you had retained your sense of humour. He chuckled softly for a few seconds at the thought of you being drenched with water. “Aw, it’s perfectly okay. I’d be lying if I said I don’t find this a bit funny. Do you need my help? Or should I let you figure it out yourself?”  "Some help would be nice but I'm probably taking time away from you being with your little boy and I couldn't do that. I mean you're more than welcome to bring him along. I'm sure he'll have fun watching his daddy fixing a sink." I laugh. Your offer to invite his son along to join the repairs made him laugh even harder. “I think you’ve forgotten how little he is. My son is only a year old, so he wouldn’t be very helpful except for maybe bringing me some parts.” The thought of his little one trying to carry plumbing tools filled him with amusement. "I'm sure it'll be fine. I can try and keep the little man entertained while you figure out where I've gone terribly wrong trying to fix this sink. Let me text over my address now so you can come over whenever." Your request was too much for him to refuse. The thought of spending yet more time with a beautiful woman like you was too difficult to resist.
Upon receiving your address, he quickly sent a response back that acknowledged your invitation. “I’ll swing by in a few minutes, just hold tight, and I promise to help you sort out this disaster of a sink.” "Thank you so much... Again. You're a lifesaver, see you both shortly." You tease about seeing his son. With that you hang up the phone and get changed into the clothes that are not soaked through. Deciding to leave your hair wet, not caring about it for the time being. Your teasing made him chuckle softly at the thought of having his little boy at your house with you in such compromising situations. The image was humorous to him, and even in his thoughts, he imagined you both having fun with his son. At the thought of the encounter, he quickly finished his tasks and raced to your home, eager to help and see your face again.
Time passed until you heard a knock at your door. Opening it you see Phillip. His  son in one arm and the other carrying a tool box. Stepping aside you let them in. "Come in. It's like a bomb site here so watch your step. You can put your son down in the living room. I can get him occupied with some cartoons while we work if that's okay with you of course." The thought of you entertaining his little boy while he worked brought a soft smile to his face, his son would surely enjoy the cartoons you pick out for him. Phillip carefully put his son down in the living room, making sure to place him on a soft couch or chair. He then turned back around to smile at you. “Everything is fine; thank you for accommodating him. I can get started on it right away if you show me what you were trying to fix?” You grab your iPad and put on some cartoons. Hearing his squeals and babbles makes your heart swell. "Yes, so I was trying to fix the tailpipe and I must've loosened something instead of tightening it and yeah now we're here." Phillip chuckles as his son’s giggles echo throughout the living room. The sight of his little boy so delighted by being at your home made his heart melt. He listened to the tale of the tailpipe loosening while shaking his head in amusement. It sounded like you had tried your best with the sink.  “I see. Luckily, the tailpipe should be easy to tighten back again. It’s just a simple issue. Do you mind if I work on it myself?” "Yes of course go ahead I'm just going to be just behind you watching though so I can see where I went wrong." Phillip looked over to make sure that his son was doing fine with the cartoons behind him. The thought of his son enjoying himself while in your presence caused him an unexpected amount of comfort.
With his son in good hands, he set his toolbox down and got to work. Phillip carefully worked on tightening the tailpipe as you watched over him. The job itself was rather simple, and he could not but admire your willingness to learn and watch him work. Phillip quickly made work on fixing the rest of your sink. You take the liberty of watching how to fix a sink and making sure his son was okay all at the same time. You hear his son getting slightly restless and you head into the living room to comfort him. You pick him up and hold him on your hip and start to bounce him while making your way back over to Philip. The bouncing of your hips did not go unnoticed by Phillip, for it was quite a sight to watch. While he concentrated on his task, the gentle rocking motions you made with your body made his blood rush a bit. He could smell your perfume as his nose twitched from the faint scent of your perfume. It was a charming scent that made him want to breathe even more deeply. "Hey, is everything going well there?" You ask, still comforting his son on your hip while he continues to watch the cartoons. “It’s going quite well.” Phillip responded to you without even looking up. The sight of you so lovingly carrying his son like that brought a smile to his face. He had never experienced this before in his life, so seeing this sight of you cuddling his son made him feel very comfortable.  “I’ll be done in a few minutes, just need to tighten a couple more screws.” "Oh that's brilliant. Thank you so much again Phillip I have no idea what I would've done without your help.'
Phillip could not contain his amusement at your compliments. For what seemed like a simple repair, it seemed like a much bigger task to you. It was adorable to see how grateful you were for such a small task. The tightening of the screws was the final step in the repair, and after ensuring that the connections were secure, he turned to you and smiled. “We’re all done with the repairs here, so your sink should be in proper working order.” Phillip’s warm, inviting eyes filled with amusement and compassion. He still felt a sense of amazement seeing you hold his little boy in the same position his ex-wife once held him in long ago. He felt comfort in your presence; the scent of your perfume and your gentle aura was making his heart throb lightly. You thank him a thousand times more with a bright smile on your face. You could tell he was in awe of you holding his son but you didn't want to say anything to ruin his moment.  The sight of you and his son seemed too perfect to him. From the way you carried his son on your hip to how you were so grateful for such a small task, everything about you was charming to him. The urge to pull you into an embrace was growing more intense with each second. He was starting to feel more attached to you after this small task was completed. With a gentle and caring tone, he looked over to ask you a question. “Could I ask you something?” "Hmm oh yeah of course." You respond to him. Philip's warm eyes met yours, and for a few seconds, he seemed to struggle with finding the right words to ask his question. It was clear that your beauty had him at a loss for words when he asked. "What would it take for you to let me take you out to dinner tonight?” "Dinner!" You sound shocked. You didn't mean to come across as shocked as you did. "Dinner would be amazing Phillip" The idea of you accepting to go to dinner with him made his heart leap with joy, as you seemed quite surprised by his sudden question. Your shocked exclamation only added to the charm of the moment, and he couldn't but smile softly at the joy he felt at your acceptance. "Wonderful, I'll pick you up in three hours. Does that sound fine to you?" "Three hours would be perfect." You smile at him again. You look down at the little man in your arms and give him a smile too, pinching his cheeks and booping his nose. Walking over to Phillip you hand his son back to him. Sad to let him go.
Philip was not used to seeing such warmth and compassion towards his son. With every second, the boy became more at ease with you, and Phillip was enjoying the sight of his son interacting positively with you. When you handed him his son back in his arms, he looked down at you and then his son with a slight blush. "He seems to like you." Philip noted his son's affection for you. "I think he does." You blush slightly. "I think I'll be seeing you in three hours then Phillip." "Until three hours then." Phillip smiled as he waved goodbye. He was still feeling all warmed up from your acceptance. The thought of going on a date with you had suddenly made him curious about your personality further. This night was going to be a pleasant one for sure. The only issue was that the three hours seemed like an eternity to him now.

Gorilla Lope The Upright Cabbage Thrower Lope has a little upright run and beats his chest. Looking for some food and then a look through the window. He climbs up on the climbing frame but doesn't take the cabbage that's on there. He climbs back down again. Down the bottom, he collects some green beans. Twycross got a big green beans delivery. They still get their fruit and veg from a big online supermarket called Ocado. I think it is donated to the zoo, which is just fabulous. When he goes back to the climbing frame he picks up half of the red cabbage. I don't think it's the gorilla's favourite food as it gets battered and thrown around first, just like Shufai did the other day with his. Lope is throwing it against the hut's wall and beats his chest. He does sit down and eats the cabbage. When he hears a sound he gets up and it looks like he's trying hard not to make a sound to get away quietly. He looks through the window and goes inside. #Gorillas #SloggerVlogger #sloggervloggergorillas Don't forget to subscribe and hit that notification bell for more! Ocado and Next cut sick pay for unvaccinated isolating staff
Ocado and Next have cut sick pay for unvaccinated staff that must self-isolate because of Covid exposure, the BBC has learned.
Both retailers will continue to pay full sick pay to unvaccinated workers if they test positive for the virus.
Furniture giant Ikea is also among employers making similar moves, as staff absences rise.
Next said it was an "emotive topic" but that it had to balance staff and shareholder needs.
It is unclear when next made the change but it is believed to have been recent.
Online grocer Ocado confirmed on Thursday that it had adopted the same policy as Next this week.
Next currently pays store sales consultants and stock assistants between £6.55 and £9.21 an hour and warehouse operatives between £9.30 and £11.26 an hour many business listings.
But unvaccinated workers who are required to isolate could now receive as little as £96.35 a week - the Statutory Sick Pay minimum - unless there are mitigating circumstances.
· Who needs to self-isolate now and for how long?
·Ikea cuts sick pay for some unvaccinated staff
·Covid staff shortages will continue into New Year
·How can I get my booster jab?
Last month, official self-isolation guidance was relaxed for people who have been jabbed, meaning they do not need to isolate if they have been exposed to a positive case.
But there was no change to the guidance for unvaccinated close contacts, who must still self-isolate for 10 full days after their date of exposure.
What are your sick pay rights?
Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) is the minimum amount employers must pay, but some employers offer more than SSP - this is normally known as a company or contractual sick pay.
Beth Hale, the partner at employment law firm CM Murray, said claims of direct discrimination due to this kind of sick pay policy were unlikely to succeed as being opposed to vaccination was "unlikely to be a protected belief for the purposes of the Equality Act."
"While the policy may have a disproportionate impact on those from certain ethnic or religious groups (which could give rise to a claim for indirect discrimination), an employer may well be able to justify the policy on the basis of their legitimate business needs," she added.
She said where employers are struggling with significant staff absences because of the large case numbers, it "seemed reasonable" that they may want to take steps to encourage vaccination amongst their workforce in this way.
But she added that employers need to be "careful that policies are communicated carefully and sensitively" to avoid employee relations issues.
Many companies, including next, faced labour shortages in 2021 and some are now are seeing mass absences due to the more infectious Omicron Covid strain.
This week it emerged that Ikea, which employs about 10,000 people in the UK, had changed its policy on unvaccinated staff that have been exposed to coronavirus.
Sick pay cuts will also be implemented at Wessex Water and in the US several major companies have started penalizing un-jabbed workers.
However, the major UK supermarkets and Amazon told the BBC their policies had not changed.
NeXT’s move comes days after it said it was putting up its prices to offset higher wage and manufacturing costs.
The retailer said prices for its spring and summer clothing and homeware ranges would climb by 3.7% from a year earlier, while it expects a 6% rise for autumn and winter goods.
The company forecasts full-year sales to rise by 7% overall, but it warned it could face a tougher trading environment in 2022 given the financial pressures facing households, such as higher energy bills.
In October last year, Next boss Lord Wolfson said the retailer had struggled with labour shortages because workers were not available in the places needed and seasonal workers had proved difficult to recruit.
The executive, who supported Brexit, said the problem could be solved by companies hiring overseas workers and paying “visa tax" business listings.
Ikea cuts sick pay for unvaccinated staff forced to self-isolate
Ikea has cut sick pay for unvaccinated staff that needs to self-isolate because of Covid exposure and in some cases for workers who test positive.
The retail giant acknowledged it was an "emotive topic" but said its policy had to evolve with changing circumstances.
From this week, sick pay cuts will be implemented at Wessex Water and in the US several major companies have started penalizing unjabbed workers.
It comes as firms struggle with mass staff absences and rising costs.
At Ikea unvaccinated workers, who do not have mitigating circumstances, who test positive will be paid in line with company sick pay.
Unvaccinated workers, without mitigating circumstances and required to isolate owing to being identified as close contact, could now receive as little as £96.35 a week - the Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) minimum.
Self-isolation guidance for people who have been jabbed was relaxed last month. However, there was no change to the guidance for unvaccinated people who come into contact with positive cases, and who must still self-isolate for 10 full days after their date of exposure to the virus.
·Covid staff shortages will continue into New Year
·Ikea to raise prices as supply problems bite
Average wages at Ikea are between about £400 and £450, depending on location and, as is the case at many companies, staff gets enhanced sick pay. The move was first reported by the Mail on Sunday.
Ikea, which employs about 10,000 people in the UK, said in a statement: "Fully vaccinated co-workers or those that are unvaccinated owing to mitigating circumstances which, for example, could include pregnancy or other medical grounds, will receive full pay.
"Unvaccinated co-workers without mitigating circumstances that test positive with Covid will be paid full company sick pay in line with our company absence policy free business listings.
"Unvaccinated co-workers without mitigating circumstances who have been identified as close contacts of a positive case will be paid Statutory Sick Pay."
In England, people who are vaccinated with at least two doses need not self-isolate if they have been in close contact with someone infected with Covid. Unvaccinated people contacted through the government's test-and-trace system must still isolate by law.
Many companies complained of labour shortages throughout 2021, and now are seeing mass absences due to the more infectious Omicron Covid strain.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson repeated on Monday that the data continued to show those people most seriously affected by Omicron remained unvaccinated.
Wessex Water's sick pay rule change comes into force this week.
Any employee without at least one Covid-19 vaccination - who does not have a valid medical reason - or does not have a confirmed vaccination appointment, will get only statutory sick pay if required to self-isolate due to close contact with someone testing positive.
A Wessex Water spokesperson said absences have soared this year: "The vast majority of our workforce has been vaccinated and it's important as a company providing essential services with key worker employees, the remainder gets vaccinated to protect themselves, customers, and their colleagues.
"Absences due to Covid have doubled in the last week, so we need everyone to be available so we can continue to provide uninterrupted essential water and sewerage services."
Legal risks
The company said that throughout the pandemic it had not furloughed staff and those self-isolating had received full payment.
Last year, supermarket Morrisons cut sick pay terms, while several companies, including banking giant Citigroup, introduced a "no jab, no job" policy. Delta Airlines imposed a surcharge on unvaccinated staff members of its healthcare plan.
Ben Willmott, head of public policy at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), told the BBC there were pros and cons with changing sick pay terms for certain workers.
It could encourage staff to get vaccinated, but others might be less likely to test themselves or self-isolate because they could not afford time off work at the statutory rate of about £96.
His organization's official guidance was not to differentiate between employees, as the consequences could be complex and there were potential legal problems.
"You would have to manage it on a case-by-case basis because of legal risks," Mr Willmott said.
Earlier this month, David Josephs, boss of food importer and retailer All Greens, told the BBC that staff at some firms was ignoring Covid rules for financial reasons.
"We know that in our sector a lot of staff does not get paid sick pay. Ours do - but staff that are on limited contracts or on minimum wage cannot afford to be off work," he said.
Employment lawyer Sarah Ozanne, of CMS, also warned of complex legal issues and said striking the right balance was difficult.
"This action [by Ikea] seems more of a reaction to staff shortages and how to manage them than any intended 'discrimination' of the unvaccinated," she said.
"But employers should consider whether their actions are proportionate as a means of achieving the aim of getting employees back into work."
