YAYY I’m happy you guys are interested in my idea.

I will say though, saying he has DID is a bit of an oversimplification for that post (not untrue, though). That drawing is for a post-game AU fanfic I’m writing where instead of Earth C being created when they win, the kids are sent to a spliced-together mess of a timeline much like the Beta Timeline, and in the process, their Ultimate Selves are created.

When this happens, Hal, having spent so much time distancing himself from Dirk and going so far as to give himself a different NAME, refuses to integrate properly. And the result is pretty much DID! The Striders live together, UltDave, UltDirk (minus Hal), and Hal all trying to navigate how to live and shenanigans ensue. And then I also made the AU dirkjohn because I can never help myself.

-Dirk doesn’t know about Hal’s existence for a while, and neither does anyone else. He assumes Hal’s consciousness has either integrated into his own like the rest of his splinters, or somehow got destroyed. He starts missing time, and then worrying what’s wrong with him before Hal deigns to announce his presence.

Like: Dirk: Did you eat the last poptart? | Dave: i literally saw you eat it | Dirk: I haven’t been out here all day. (It was Hal; he took it, didnt introduce himself to dave because he was nervous, and ate in silence)

-once the status quo of them sharing a headspace is established, Dirk and Hal definitely start leaving each other notes around the apartment. Dave is like “why is there a note that says ‘kys’ on the mirror” and Hal is like “thats not for you”

-Dirk and Hal have different sensory experiences. For example, Hal hates his hair touching his neck, and Dirk likes it longer. Dirk also loves physical touch while Hal is touch-averse. This is inconvenient because the Striders live together residence only has one bed
