thinking about soccer player!ellie and cheerleader!reader…
this is part of my soccer player!ellie and cheerleader!reader series!! go check it out!
before dating her...
soccer player!ellie who refuses to admit she has a crush, so she treats you like you’re annoying. always rolls her eyes when you wave at her from across campus, but secretly she’s dying inside when you do.
soccer player!ellie who has your whole cheer routine memorized. she watches you during warm-ups instead of listening to her coach. if someone points it out, she pretends to be looking at the scoreboard.
soccer player!ellie who doesn't follow you on instagram but has to check at least once a day if you posted something new. absolutely stalks your profile at midnight like it's her own job.
soccer player!ellie who ignores you on campus, but you once dropped your lip gloss outside the gym, and she picked it up and kept it. she doesn’t know why. itlives in the bottom of her backpack like a cursed object.
soccer player!ellie who played her worst game of the season the only day you missed it. she was too busy trying to look for you on the benches, and once she assumed you weren't there, the game had lost its purpose.
soccer player!ellie who acts extra cocky whenever you’re watching practice. suddenly she’s doing trick shots, shirt half-tucked, everything you can imagine.
soccer player!ellie who denies knowing anything about your cheer competitions but saw your team was ranked online and checked the score updates live.
soccer player!ellie who always pretends not to notice you at parties, but the second someone flirts with you, she’s watching like a hawk from across the room, jaw clenched, drink untouched. jesse’s like “just go home before you kill someone.”
soccer player!ellie who starts arriving early to practice just to “warm up,” but really it’s because she knows that’s when your team rehearses stunts on the field. she says it’s the only time it isn’t crowded. dina doesn’t believe her.
soccer player!ellie who went absolutely feral during an away game when a girl on the other team said you looked good in red. she got a yellow card five minutes later for a reckless slide. she doesn't regret it, tho.
once you're dating...
soccer player!ellie who wears your hairband like it's her personal bracelet by now. she even told you once it was her lucky charm.
soccer player!ellie who says PDA is cringe, but lets you wear her jersey to games and gets SO smug when people notice.
soccer player!ellie who will fight if anyone says your routine looked sloppy. she knows every beat and claps the loudest when you finish.
soccer player!ellie who starts doing little things like carrying your bag, bringing you water, or showing up outside practice with snacks.
soccer player!ellie who insists she’s not the romantic type, but gives you her medal the day they win regionals. doesn’t say a word. just hangs it on your neck and walks off blushing.
soccer player!ellie who starts “jokingly” calling you babe in front of people. no one thinks it’s a joke.
soccer player!ellie who dedicates goals to you by making a subtle heart shape with her fingers when you’re not looking. the team knows. the crowd knows. you still pretend not to notice.
soccer player!ellie who refuses to kiss you before games because “it’s distracting.” but if you don’t show up to wish her luck, she texts you in a panic like:
ellie: you forgot ellie: i need my good luck kiss ellie: where r u
soccer player!ellie who has your cheer bows in her room, hidden in her sock drawer. and you don’t even remember giving them to her.
soccer player!ellie who lets you do face paint for her before every home game, even though she complains the whole time:
“you’re doing too much—wait, why is there glitter on my cheek?” “shut up, you look cute.”
soccer player!ellie who scored the final goal from the regionals, and lifted her shirt to expose your initial marked on her abs. let’s say both of you were very busy after the game, because you needed to show her how much you loved the detail.
soccer player!ellie who keeps little trinkets of yours—a charm that fell off your bag, a broken hair clip, a scribbled note you tossed. they’re all in a shoebox under her bed.
soccer player!ellie who panics when you’re sad and does the most insane things to cheer you up, like drawing a comic of you two fighting crime as “captain pom-pom and goal queen.” it’s awful. you love it.
soccer player!ellie who won’t let anyone trash-talk you, even her own teammates. one girl called your cheer routine extra, and ellie benched her with a slide tackle the next day. oops!
soccer player!ellie who gets in trouble for being late to practice because she was walking you to class, carrying your pom-poms for you.
soccer player!ellie who loves when you wear her hoodie with her name after games, especially when you’re tired and clingy. she swears you’ve never looked prettier.
soccer player!ellie who helps you stretch before your performances, getting way too flustered when you sit on her lap mid-stretch and act like it's nothing.
soccer player!ellie who walks around with glitter on her face from hugging you, completely unaware, but looking smug about it.
soccer player!ellie who gets irrationally jealous when you cheer for other teams—even during friendlies.
“why were you clapping so hard for them, huh?” “ellie, i’m supposed to do it. you know i'm not your personal cheerleader, right?”
she audibly gasps after that like you had just insulted her personally.

2023/24 Kit Preview

Third time trying to post this because UNDO doesn't just undo the last thing on Tumblr - it clears the entire post. Fuck me for trying to blog here lmao.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The new Manchester United home, away and third kits have seemingly leaked and - given there's player photography - it's likely a done deal, so lets cast our eyes over the new shirts and see what's good and what's not.

HOME: A strong red United home shirt, with nice black trim and a sharp collar. The tessellated Lancashire Rose background is a little unnecessary but a nice idea. Same for the chunkier TeamViewer logo - the old is better. Otherwise a solid kit though. 7/10

AWAY: Minging. -1/10
THIRD: Minimalistic, but very Liverpool FC. 6/10
The new alternate jersey is fine; it's very simple but a bit too similar to recent Liverpool away kits - and even their new home kit. It also doesn't sit right seeing the Red Devil instead of the full United badge, but it's a brave move on a bonus kit so hey ho.
Back to the MONSTROSITY that is the away shirt. Lord it's bad. A quick tinker in Photoshop to sub the green for black brings it back from negative score territory, and the below makes sense based on the United colour scheme. I fear the green is real though and we've been sold out by Adidas; doomed to wear a minging top.

It was always going to be hard to follow up on last season's very very nice home and away shirts. Hell, the obnoxious lime third shirt was half decent - just a tad too bright.
Adidas inevitably have a team of excellent designers, but if a fan artist can come up with a clean jersey like below - what's stopping them? Fashion? Publicity of a bad shirt? Delusion that it's actually good?

cowboy au travis? traveling across the country in your red truck type shii
Ts is so funny. Lemme cook.
In this AU instead of the Yellowjckets being from New Jersey they are from Wyoming. This is set in the summer in between Travis's junior and senior year, and readers summer after graduating.
WARNINGS!
none, just a silly cowboy AU.
---
The blazing sun casts down on your face as you roll down the window of Travis’s truck. The idea of going on a cross country road trip was originally his idea, i mean after all he's pretty much the quintessential Wyoming teenage cowboy, hat and all. So when he brought up the idea of going on a state road trip while skipping class, you obviously loved the idea.
Even though Travis is a year younger than you, he was somehow one of the only boys who actually seemed to have a brain. You'd met him back in middle school, but only recently started hanging out with him. It started out at your summer job last year, you were working on the Martinez family's farm, as Coach Martinez had offered to pay you to take out the stable horses. You knew him as your soccer coach's son but not much more. That summer was spent slacking off work and ditching the stable to go on adventures with Travis. So naturally, the two of you hung out quite a bit that next year, growing closer and becoming tied at the hip.
You tried to rope a few of your other friends from your soccer team to join you on your trip, but most of them were either busy, or just lame. So it ended up being just you, him, his beat up Ford, and the open road.
---
The truck rattles over a bump in the road, and you instinctively grab the handle above the window. Travis just laughs, one hand lazily resting on the steering wheel, the other holding a crumpled gas station soda.
“Relax,” he says, flashing that cocky half-smile that either makes you want to punch him or trust him with your life. “She’s got more miles in her than you think.”
You glance over at him, cowboy hat tilted back, boots on the dash like he owns the road. There’s dust smudged across his cheek, a grease stain on his shirt from the quick fix he did back at the last gas station, and yet somehow, he looks exactly like he belongs out here.
The highway stretches endlessly ahead, nothing but blue sky, burnt grass, and the occasional fence post. It smells like heat and cow manure and freedom.
“This better not end in us hitchhiking back home with some trucker named Billy,” you mutter, half-joking.
Travis smirks. “Billy’s probably got great stories.”
You roll your eyes and pull your feet up onto the seat, legs crossed. The wind whips your hair into your face, but you don’t bother fixing it.
You stare at him for a second, heat rising in your chest, not from the sun, but from that smug look he always gets when he thinks he knows better.
“I still don’t get why we had to take this back road,” you mutter, pulling your legs off the seat and slamming your boots to the floorboard. “We’re gonna run out of gas before we even see another person.” Travis doesn’t even flinch. “Because the highway’s boring. This way is better.” “Better for who? You and your ‘I don't need GPS’ complex?”
He shrugs, that lazy cowboy shrug that somehow pisses you off even more. “Better for the view. Thought you’d appreciate not being stuck in traffic with all your fake soccer friends.”
Your head snaps toward him. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me,” he says, voice flat but eyes sharp. “They only hang out with you ‘cause you’re good. Soon as you stop scoring goals, they’ll forget you exist.” You go quiet. Not because he’s right but because it hit somewhere soft. Somewhere you don’t like people poking.
“That’s rich coming from the guy who hangs out with the same four dudes who only ever talk about trucks, girls, and which cow kicked who last week.” Travis’s knuckles tighten on the wheel. “At least they don’t ditch me as soon as someone better shows up.”
The silence after that is loud.
You turn your face toward the window, jaw clenched, the wind slapping against your cheeks. The road, the dust, the heat, it all feels too close suddenly. You murmur, “You really think I’d ditch you?” He doesn’t answer. Just keep driving.
You sit in that silence for a long time. And that’s when the engine coughs, then dies.
The truck rolls to a stop on the side of the road, dust curling around you. “No,” you mutter, “no freaking way.” Travis hits the wheel. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
And now it’s just the two of you. No gas. No more avoiding whatever this weird tension is. Just the road, the heat, and everything that hasn’t been said.
---
The heat is unbearable.
You’re sitting on the tailgate of Travis’s truck, legs dangling, your shirt sticking to your back with sweat. The sun’s high and unrelenting, and there’s not a sliver of shade for miles. Travis leans against the hood, arms crossed, kicking gravel with the heel of his boot. “We should’ve brought more water,” you say, cracking open the last warm bottle and taking a slow sip before handing it to him.
He doesn’t say anything at first, just takes a drink and squints down the empty road. “You think someone’s gonna come by?” “Not likely.” You wipe your forehead. “It’s Wyoming. We could be out here all day.” For the next couple hours, you both wait, half-hoping for a pickup truck to roll by or for a miracle to fall from the sky. But all that comes is wind and dust and a pair of vultures circling way too high overhead.
Eventually, Travis pushes off the truck with a groan. “That ranch we passed, I'm gonna go check it out. Are you coming?” You nod. “Yeah. Can’t sit here and bake any longer.”
You walk along the road in silence, boots crunching against gravel, the sun finally beginning to slide toward late afternoon. The ranch is quiet when you get there, eerily so. No cars. No voices. No dogs barking. Just a long stretch of fencing and a few empty-looking buildings.
You pound on the front door. Nothing. Travis peeks in the window, then shrugs. “No one’s home.” You sigh and turn to leave, then spot something moving out in the field behind the barn.
“Horses,” you say, pointing.
There they are, two of them, grazing near a tree line at the back of the pasture, tails flicking lazily. Travis’s face lights up. “Well, we could…”
You shoot him a look. “Are you seriously about to suggest stealing somebody’s horses?” “Borrowing,” he says with a grin. “We leave a note. It's a country code.”
You groan but follow him over the fence anyway, because at this point, anything’s better than walking back on foot. With a little coaxing, you manage to mount up, him more naturally, you with a bit more struggle. The horses move steady through the open land, the breeze finally picking up and cooling your face as you ride. It feels wild and stupid and kind of freeing, like something out of an old movie. Neither of you talks much, but the tension from earlier eases just a little with every gallup.
The sun dips low. “Hey,” you say suddenly, looking around. “Where’s the road?” Travis slows, eyes scanning the horizon. “Crap.” You turn the horses in wide circles, searching for the landmarks you passed earlier, but it all looks the same now. Field, trees, sky, more fields.
“We are not getting stuck out here,” you say, voice sharp. “Relax,” Travis mutters, though his jaw is tight. “We’ll figure it out.” You ride faster, hearts starting to race as the golden light fades to purple. Finally, just as full dark settles in and your hands start to shake from the cold and adrenaline, you spot the shimmer of chrome in the distance.
“There!” you yell. The truck is still there, dead and useless, but it looks like home. You both slide off the horses, panting, your boots hitting gravel again. Travis gives the horse a pat, then looks over at you. “You okay?”
You nod, arms crossed over your chest, trying to breathe. “Yeah. That was… something.” He lets out a small laugh. “Country road trip memories, right?” You glance at him, then at the truck, then up at the moon rising over the field.
“Yeah,” you say. “Just maybe next time… we bring a map.” He smirks. “And more water.”
“And friends who know how to plan.”
“…and maybe don’t take someone else’s horse.”
You both laugh, a little too hard, a little too tired. The road's still empty. The truck’s still dead.
---
The sun has long set, and the desert air is turning colder by the minute.
“We’re really sleeping in the truck, huh?” You kick a small rock as you walk. “Yeah,” Travis says, running a hand through his messy hair. “I guess we don’t really have much of a choice, do we?” “Nope,” you say, climbing into the bed of the truck. The cool metal is a welcome contrast to the lingering heat of the day. You lie back, staring up at the sky. It’s still full of stars, and for a moment, you feel small under the vastness of it all.
Travis lies beside you, propping himself up with his elbows. “So,” you start, trying to shake off the quiet. “What now?” Travis shifts beside you. “You wanna keep talking, or do you wanna play a game?”
You glance over at him, a playful grin tugging at your lips. “What kind of game?” He shrugs. “How about a round of 'Would You Rather'? But, like, we make it interesting.”
“Interesting how?” you ask, eyebrow raised.
He turns to face you, his eyes glinting mischievously. “If you can’t answer, you have to do something ridiculous. And I’m not talking like jumping jacks or anything, I mean, I want something embarrassing.”
You laugh, not expecting this. “Alright, fine. Let’s do it.” He thinks for a second, his grin widening. “Okay. Would you rather be stuck in a forest with no way back (ain't no way) or be stuck on a boat in the middle of the ocean with no way back?”
You immediately roll your eyes. “Okay, obviously stuck in the forest.” Travis laughs, and his eyes flicker toward you in that way that makes your stomach do a little flip. Your turn to ask. You give him a moment to think, the question lingering on your lips. “Would you rather have to sing karaoke at a packed bar in front of everyone or wear a pink tutu for a week at school?”
Travis chuckles and doesn’t hesitate. “Pink tutu. Karaoke sounds like a nightmare.” You snort, shaking your head. “I knew you’d say that.”
You both laugh, the sound is easy, comfortable. The game continues, getting more ridiculous as it goes on. Each question is met with teasing and laughter, the tension of earlier melting away bit by bit. The night air cools, and you feel your eyelids getting heavy, the exhaustion from the day weighing on you.
But there's still something in the air, something unspoken, hovering between you two. Travis glances at you, his voice softer than before. “Alright. Last one.”
You turn your head to look at him, your heart suddenly picking up speed. “Okay. Hit me with it.” He hesitates for a second, like he's not sure how to ask. But then he shrugs, looking at you with that intense gaze of his. “Would you rather... kiss me right now or never talk to me again?”
You freeze, the question hanging in the air like a dare. The world feels still for a moment. The sounds of the night fade into the background, and all you can focus on is him, the way his dark eyes catch the moonlight, the way his lips curl just slightly at the corners.
You should say something, anything, but your mind goes blank. The question feels like a challenge, but it’s also something deeper. The past few hours of being together, the heat, the horses, the games, everything has built up to this. To this moment.
You take a deep breath, letting the cool night air fill your lungs. Without thinking too much, you close the distance between you, leaning in until your lips meet his.
The kiss is soft at first, tentative, like both of you are unsure of what this means, but it feels too right to pull away. His hand finds yours, his fingers threading through yours as the kiss deepens. You’re both lost in the moment, the world around you dissolving into nothing but the rush of your heartbeat and the taste of each other.
When you pull away, both of you breathe a little heavier, the weight of the moment settling between you in a new, unspoken way. You don’t say anything at first, neither of you are sure what to make of it. But the night has changed, shifted, something real between you now, something more than just the awkwardness of being stuck out here.
“Guess I lost that game, huh?” Travis says, his voice low, eyes still on yours. You smile softly, heart still racing. “I think you won.” And for the first time that night, you feel the weight of everything, the heat, the truck, the strangeness of the moment, fade into something more familiar, more comfortable.

As with many sports, soccer teams have three uniforms or 'kits' -- home, away, and "third" which you wear when the first two are too similar to the other team's kit. I've often liked AS Roma's third kit best because it usually takes some design risks.
In the half-written football novel I establish that Askazer-Shivadlakia has a relationship to Rome via sport -- many Shivadh are AS Roma fans because their best player had his best years there, and Miranda and Gregory are shown in Roma supporter kit in the prologue.
And I've long established that blue and orange are the Shivadh flag colors, so it makes sense to put Shivadh RFC players in blue and orange kit:
Paolo had seen initial sketches for the designs, but he still craned his neck to see the real thing. The slideshow cycled through images of children and adults in uniforms: one set bright blue, shorts and shirts, with an orange star over the left breast and the royal crest on the right.
So imagine my goddamn surprise when the new Roma third kit jersey leaked yesterday and it's very nearly in spot-on Shivadh colors.
Did I manifest this.
[ID: A tweet posted yesterday, June 30th, sharing two images of Roma's 2024-25 third kit. The shirts are a saturated blue with yellow-gold stripes down the sides and across the shoulders, and small red triangles under the arms. The Adidas logo is on the right breast with the Roma team logo on the left; below is the logo of the sponsor, Riyadh Season.]
Also I swear I came up with "Shivadh" as a term for a person from Askazer-Shivadlakia before I knew Riyadh Season existed -- they only started sponsoring Roma last year, it's a state-funded sports and entertainment festival in Saudi Arabia.
Anyway, licensed jerseys are stupid expensive, especially when you're also paying postage from Italy, but I might have to spend next month's book royalties on one. I know you can get player names on the back but I'm kind of hoping they issue a version with De Rossi (the new head coach) on it. Otherwise I'll probably get either Pellegrini or Dybala, maybe Bove.

Goalkeeper (Jessie Fleming x Reader)
a/n: based off this request here
warnings: none
prompt: in which the canwnt goes to watch a hockey game in which jessie’s girlfriend is the keeper.
Growing up in London Ontario meant that you played boys hockey. And for the longest time, you played boys hockey with Jessie Fleming. But once you both turned 13, she started to feel uncomfortable playing with boys, and being in the changing room, so she quit hockey and focused on soccer. And man did it pay off. But you never stopped talking, every second you weren’t at soccer or hockey training, you were at each others houses, together at school, or running track together. It was always Jessie and y/n.
"There go Jessie and y/n"
"Jessie and y/n, breaking school records"
And eventually it became
"Jessie and y/n, repping Canada"
Jessie made her start for the CANWNT at 15 and you were in the stands cheering her on. And when you turned 16, you made your debut for the Canada Women’s Hockey Team as their keeper. You only started dating at 17, which happened to be horrid timing as she was leaving for UCLA in a year, and due to your impeccable grades and your talent in Hockey, you got accepted into Yale. The long distance broke your heart everyday, and multiple nights were spent either crying from missing her, or falling asleep on facetime with her. But it all payed off… for a bit. You still played hockey for the Canadian team and you played in the the Premier Hockey Federation for the Toronto Six. And man, that distance between London, England and Toronto was even worse. But you were older, and more mature, and your league season ended while Jessie’s was only in the middle. So the second your season ended, you packed your bags and moved to London for a couple of months, working a well paying job at a cafe and playing hockey at the local rink whenever you could. It was a strange life, and definitely not a lifestyle that would work for everyone, but you didn’t care as long as you were with Jessie.
However, the start of your season was approaching and it was time to say goodbye to the blues and hello to the reds. That being the Canadian Women’s National Soccer Team. They were all meeting up in Toronto, partly to go back to their Canadian roots, and partly to go see you play in your home opener of the season.
The night before the game, you did your day before game routine and then went to bed. Nothing beat the familiar feeling of your girlfriend by your side.
That morning, you got up at 9:00 like you did on all game days, kissed Jessie’s head and then pulled out a pre game outfit for you too wear as well as take out one of your jerseys for Jessie to wear. It was not the first time that the CANWNT came to watch you play. They tried to watch your games in person at least twice a year as they all cared about you a lot, considering you were the only person that made Jessie come out of her bubble fully. They called themselves "y/n’s army" and wore t-shirts with your face on them. You thought it was hilarious.
Jessie knew that you liked to leave for your games early and do your pre game routine all alone. So even though you only needed to be at the arena at 1:00, you left at 10:00 while Jessie took advantage of her off season to sleep.
You went to a coffee shop, walked around toronto, had lunch and then headed to the arena.
You met your teammates there, talking with them, laughing with them and answering their questions about if your "army" would be here today.
And they were, the second you hopped onto the ice in your heavy keeper equipment, you could hear their cheers and see the signs. It made you feel warm inside. You skated up to the barrier where Jessie was standing and out your glove on the glass and smiled at her. "Meet you after?" she asked you, loudly because of the music and the noise. "You bet," you answered.
"Good lucky my love," she told you, blowing you a kiss.
The game was heated, both teams wanted points from their first game right away, but you didn’t let a single goal in. It took a lot of screaming, orders and a few shoves and fights with the opposition, which Jessie hated, but you managed to get the 2-0 win.
After the game, you changed into jeans and a yellow graphic tee that was Jessie’s, as well as airforces and a black jean jacket. You lugged your equipment behind you and met Jessie outside the arena. She quickly pecked your lips, not big on the PDA but she did whisper a word of congratulations in your ear. You were quick to be bombarded by your girlfriends team though, hugs from Alyssa, Jordyn, Julia, Nichelle and Quinn, taps on the back from Sincy, Sophie and Sabrina and a loud scream from Kailen who then picked you up off the ground and swung you around in circles.
"Put her down Kailen!" Jessie squealed. You were taller than Jessie and pretty strong but Kailen was something else. "She’s fine Fleming," the keeper said, putting you down and smiling at you as you gained your bearings again. "Yeah, all good," you laughed. Kailen took your bag and walked towards your car, giving you the opportunity to swing an arm around Jessie’s shoulder as she put hers around your waist. You kissed the top of her head lovingly and told her you loved her as you walked towards the car.
Nothing felt better than being with your second family. Just being around the Canadian Women’s Soccer Team felt natural and easy.

hi! could you write van x reader fic where reader braids van’s hair? & while they are vans getting goosebumps cause of her feelings for reader. with a confession & kiss? 🤍
hey! thank you for sending this in. this is my first time writing for van, so bare with me.
this is pre-crash
braids
You and Van have been playing together since recreational soccer.
The two of you were on the same recreational soccer team from the youngest age, to the eldest. You thought she was the most beautiful girl in the ugly red t-shirts.
Eventually you both had grown up, so you had to move on to middle school. But she was still the most beautiful girl in Wiskayok’s Middle School Girl’s Soccer jersey.
The redheaded girl was the star goal keeper, and you were the star defender. It had always been that way, and it always would be.
Van and you became close through soccer. Neither of your parents ever made efforts to come to your games or to pick you up from practices. So the two of you would sit together on the activity buses.
Now, both of you on the highschool soccer team, are the best of friends.
Although Van wished you were more.
The two of you sat on the bus together on the way to an away game. None of you were dreading it, because all of you knew you had this in the bag.
Van startles you when she taps your shoulder, making both of you burst into a fit of laughter which has eyes drawn to you.
She pulls your wired ear buds out of your ears, “Will you braid my hair?”
You roll your eyes, “You know I will.”
Earlier in the day, around lunchtime, you were teasing Van saying you wouldn’t do her hair today due to her withhold of answers on the health homework.
You’d become the person everyone came to to get their hair braided for games, events, or even just to have their hair done. You didn’t mind it, you loved that you were needed for something other than fetching beer for your father.
You pulled an earbud back into your ear and offered one to Van, since the two of you had similar music taste, you often listened together.
When your hand touches Van’s ear, she gets goosebumps. You don’t question it.
●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●
You soon pulled into the opposing teams school parking lot.
It was a nice school, you had to admit, it was better than yours. But you wished their team was better than their school. You needed something to take your mind off everything going on at home.
When the team arrived, the team you were up against was still in class. Which meant you had about an hour and a half to two hours.
Jackie was the first to come up to you, almost as soon as you stepped foot off the bus.
Van rolled her eyes, which both you and Jackie caught. The latter smiled knowingly, because almost every single person on the Wiskayok soccer team, knew about Van’s feelings towards you. Except you, of course.
You nodded and Jackie grabbed your arm to lead you to the benches so you could start on her hair.
Jackie asked you some questions about you, school, home, and then about Van. She insisted she was just curious and that it was her job to be since she owned the title of captain.
You answered honestly, about all of it.
Once you were done with Jackie’s hair, Shauna insisted you do her next so she could spend as much time practicing as possible. She didn’t talk much, but she kept glancing at Van who now sat beside you once Jackie left.
After Shauna, Van immediately sat in front of you so you could finally do her hair. She needed to be ready as soon as possible, because they needed to warm up the star goalie.
You brush her hair out and part it. When your finger touches Van’s forehead she gets goosebumps again. This makes your eyebrows come together in concern.
“Are you good?” You leaned down to look at her face.
She hums and nods, eager to get out of this situation. The last thing she wanted to do today was her feelings towards you. Because if you were to reject her, she’d be in a mood, and she wouldn’t play her best.
When you finish the first braid you move to her other side to begin her next braid, trying to decide what to say to get the truth out of her.
She jumps slightly when you begin the next braid and that’s enough for you. Your hands leave her hair, making her turn to you in question.
“Why do you keep doing that?!” You freaked out.
“Doing what?” Van asked in a calmer voice than yours.
“Jumping and- and getting goosebumps. Is something wrong? Am I doing something wrong? Do you not like the braids? Do you want me to do something else? Or are you just nervous for the game? What’s wrong? Tell me,” You spit out questions at full speed.
“y/n,” Van smiled. “There’s something I should tell you.”
Even though she didn’t want to tell you, she did. She knew if she didn’t now you would just keep asking and you wouldn’t play your best because of your overthinking. And she’d rather it be her than you.
“I like you.”
“Oh. I like you too,” You tilt your head.
“No,” Van closes her eyes in frustration. “I like you as more than a friend.”
“Duh. That’s what I just said,” You roll your eyes.
“Oh,” Van chuckles, rubbing the back of her neck.
You lean down and give her a kiss. You don’t realize it, but now the whole team is watching as the two of you make out on the bench. Everyone’s grateful you guys finally admitted the feelings—even the coaches were. The tension was beginning to get unbearable.
“Finally!” Tai yells in your direction. You and Van both flip her off.
You laugh again and pull her in for another kiss.

More Random HC’s cause I’m waiting to go into work :)
Nat:
- Unironically LOVES shirts that are/have the same energy as “women love me, fish fear me”/“Big dick is back in town” etc. she wears them more often than you’d like
- She lives off of Mountain Dew, Red Bull and hot Cheetos, that’s all she packs for lunch everyday and you have to drop off water and a snack for her at practice so she doesn’t pass out since she barely takes care of herself
Misty:
- was one of those girls that had a thing for the Onceler from the Lorax
- She was def apart of the 2012 tumblr culture, (superwholock or whatever it was) one of those girls that would get a tattoo off of one of the YA books they read, hunger games, Harry Potter, stuff like that
Jackie:
- Either really knows how to play American football and is super invested in the NFL, or does not know anything at all “What is a down?”
- Is SO CLINGY (Derogatory) sure you thought it was cute at first until she gets up at 5 am for her morning practice and wakes you up too so you can “brush your teeth together”. It gets even worse when she’s sick, shes the hugest baby when she’s sick and you know if she gets sick you’re bound to get sick a week later because she’s plastered to your side
Van:
- Legit loves anything you get her, even if it’s kind of a joke. Stupid $2 tourist T shirt? You got it for her so she loves it, childish Spider-Man socks, thinks they’re cool as fuck. Just overall very appreciative and excited to recieve anything from you
Lottie:
- I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; She’s absolutely good at all the fine arts; she can draw well, she definitely can play the piano and violin, bc her rich parents paid for her to have lessons, etc
- She definitely also did some nerdy shit like take taekwondo until she was 14. Idk why I can just imagine this girl in like that white martial arts gi, doing like punching exercises.
Shauna:
- I don’t know if this makes sense but the kind of gf that when you guys go out to eat, you’ll both be quiet/not talk so you can eavesdrop onto people’s conversations and talk about it in the car on the way home
ugh no nat is such a loser she so would. she shows up at your house wearing this

asking her when the last time she drank water was and she's really got to think about it. she gets so shy if you like cook her something though omg
Misty would have crushes on the weirdest fucking cartoon characters and shit I swear. she pulls you a picture of megamind and you're like "... okay"
superwholockian misty i know that's right. misty has like collectors editions of the Sherlock books. she has like an original printing displayed in her living room fr
Misty def had one of those shirts like "heading off to the shire to become a jedi because my hogwarts letter never came."
i take that and I raise you Jackie being super super invested in the NFL but still does not know how football works. she's into the vibes she's just competitive as fuck. you look over and she's googling what a halfback does.
also Jackie totally follows a soccer team obsessively. she has like 5 jerseys and so so much merch. she even buys you some so she can make you wear it. she's so excited whenever there's a game on. she's def screaming at the ref for making a bad call
jackie's dramatic ass makes you sit in the bathroom with her as she showers. your just sitting on the sink with your head against the mirror barely able to keep your eyes open and she's excitedly rambling on like she's on fucking crack.

she definitely gets you sick whenever she gets sick for sure. she's expecting princess treatment squared when she's sick. omg you thought she was needy normally?? your ass is not ready.

Fiorentina Retro 1992-93 Batistuta 7UP Special Hoodie
Product link:https://flavorhauted.com/product/fiorentina-retro-1992-93-batistuta-7up-special-hoodie/
Store link:https://flavorhauted.com/
A Time Capsule in Fabric: Heritage Reimagined
To understand the gravity of the Fiorentina Retro 1992–93 Batistuta 7UP Special Hoodie, one must first appreciate what it represents. This is not just a hoodie—it is the sartorial resurrection of one of football’s most electrifying eras, embodied by one of its fiercest warriors: Gabriel Batistuta. It’s a garment that doesn’t just pay homage—it immortalizes.
The original Fiorentina 1992–93 jersey is legendary. Known not only for its unapologetically vibrant aesthetic but also for Batistuta’s explosive form, the shirt became a cult artifact. Now, this modern hoodie adaptation reinvents that magic for the streets of today—blending retro football culture with the fearless energy of streetwear.
What Flavor Haunted has delivered here is more than nostalgia—it is a wearable relic, dipped in purple royalty and laced with vintage charisma.
Design That Echoes Greatness
From the first glance, the bold geometry of the purple pattern demands attention. The shoulder and sleeve panels are cloaked in a jagged, techno-futurist lattice that feels as radical today as it did three decades ago. That iconic, almost hypnotic motif practically hums with ‘90s energy—exuding a rhythm that moves from the stadium to the street without missing a beat.
Set against a crisp white base, the pattern’s intensity is balanced, giving the piece a dynamic duality—loud but clean, electric yet elegant. The vintage 7UP logo across the chest is the crown jewel, instantly triggering waves of nostalgia for anyone who remembers the golden age of TV football, Sunday kits, and soda ads on jerseys. Rendered in its original green-red tones, the 7UP mark is a statement of cultural crossover—commercial, football, and fashion worlds colliding in perfection.
But let’s not overlook the Florence crest—the iconic giglio—stitched proudly just above the logo. It roots the hoodie in the city’s legacy, fusing Italian elegance with football passion. And at the back? The name that needs no introduction: BATISTUTA, flanked by the number 9. Blocky, proud, and powerful. It’s more than a number. It’s a flag, a memory, a symbol of goal-scoring supremacy.
The Fusion of Function and Flash
Beyond its aesthetic majesty, the hoodie is clearly designed with comfort and street-ready practicality in mind. Its spacious hood, classic kangaroo pocket, and likely fleece-lined interior suggest that this piece is not just for showing off—it’s for living in. Whether you’re layering it under a leather jacket or letting it shine on its own, this hoodie does more than keep you warm—it ignites conversations.
The balance of elements—front patterning, back lettering, color-blocked sleeves—is meticulous. It takes serious design intelligence to make something feel vintage and modern at once, but this hoodie nails the brief. It’s as much at home in a Florentine alley as it is on a Brooklyn block. It bridges decades and geographies with style.
For the collector? It’s essential. For the fan? It’s sacred. For the fashion head? It’s a flex. There’s no losing scenario with this in your rotation.
Why This Hoodie Matters Today
This hoodie drops in a world where football fashion has become a pillar of contemporary style—from Virgil Abloh’s influence on soccer kits to Juventus’ collaborations with Palace and Pharrell. The Batistuta 7UP Hoodie joins this new wave, but it does so with a distinctly retro flair, bringing the ‘90s back into the now.
And it does so with meaning. The 1992–93 season, while tumultuous for Fiorentina, was a time of rebirth and grit. Batistuta, in his debut season, scored relentlessly and carved out his place in history. This hoodie captures that spirit—not perfection, but passion. Not just design, but devotion.
There’s power in nostalgia, but there’s even more power in reviving it with taste. This piece doesn’t ride on memory alone—it rebuilds it with polish and pride.
Conclusion: The Cult Classic Reborn
In the world of retro football fashion, the Fiorentina Retro 1992–93 Batistuta 7UP Special Hoodie is the holy grail. It’s audacious yet wearable, vintage yet futuristic, functional yet emotionally charged. It doesn’t just celebrate football—it elevates it to fashion mythology.
Whether you’re a lifelong Fiorentina fan, a Batigol worshiper, or a style hunter searching for the next standout piece—this hoodie is your answer. It’s not just a nod to the past. It’s a shout, a roar, a goal scored in the final minute of design culture.
Own it, and you own a slice of football history—wrapped in style, swagger, and stunning purple.

Gator Country
The day started off with a visit to Buffalo Tiger Air Boat tours. The outpost is on the side of a highway running straight through the everglades and within native land. Fearful of the direct sun, us white boys did the most sensible thing upon arrival, and hastily reapplied sunscreen before signing in for our tour.
Our guide was a man named Garrett. Muscle shirt, tattoos, tanned to hell, scruffy unkept beard, and who immediately lit a cigarette upon arrival. His aunt appeared to run the joint, and he remarked about how the Feds seem to do nothing right. We speculated on his political affiliation.
Not without merit, Garrett informed us of his Miccosukee (and Scottish) heritage and how the US government had went to war with his people, and how a clever chief managed to secure their territory by parlaying with Fidel Castro, thus making the American government eager to please.
Touring around the grassy swamp, Garrett took us to an unused historic native village that we gingerly explored. We learned much from Garrett and his self proclaimed passion for biology, from sugar apples to gator nest monitoring.
Boating around, I was eagerly hoping to see a Gator and after 15 mins of circling we found our target. BoBo, a five foot male, seemed familiar with Garrett and leisurely swam over to our boat before closing his eyes for what appeared to be a nap. Much quiet and excitement was had over the close encounter.
Driving home, the boys had to practice calming the mind amongst Miami drivers. The congestion and aggressive drivers here seem to serve as a reminder of what can happen when a city prioritizes the individual over efficient group transportation.
After a brief mishap parking wise, the lads cooled down in our icebox airBnb which seems to only have two AC settings: artic or off. We then headed out to the beach while I stayed behind to chat with Tova for a bit.
It was a hot sunny day outside, and so once the pull of the beach called, I too assembled myself. To my surprise, the boys had not taken the beach umbrella, nor beach towels, nor cooler, nor sunscreen. It had seemed the call of the beach had rushed them too soon.
Collecting these supplies, I headed out to a local grocer and obtained some cold drinks, snacks, and ice cream for the cooler. I luckily ran into Joel on my way to the surf and after some brief head turning, found the boys behind a metal box.
Much content was had over the delivered supplies. After wolfing down the rapidly melting ice cream, the lads alternated between lounging in the sun, swimming amongst the waves, and people watching. Allen unfortunately forgot about his sunglasses as he dove into the water, and after an unsuccessful search party, we accepted them as lost to the ocean.
Oddly, while searching for his black and red shades, we even found a different pair of glasses, with clear frames, as if to be a cruel tease of the big blue. Watching advertising planes and cruise ships go by, the boys eventually headed back.
Pizza was had for dinner and most of us crammed onto Blake and Allen's sofa bed to watch the Canada - Uruguay soccer match amongst picture posting of Blake's "chub". Joel unfortunately had to take his jersey off at the end when Uruguay won via penalty kicks.
Walking the art Deco walk at night, Joel messaged a potential new lady friend, an we sauntered, watching people flaunt their fancy cars, dress, and bodies. Standing along the street for a couple minutes, we watched a drag show, and I got to say, the lgbtq community knows how to party.

New Football Shirts More Popular Than Ever!
There is no doubt that football is the top sport in the world right now. The 2012 World Cup in South Africa once again thrust the game into the spotlight with football fans from all over the world making the final the most watched World Cup final ever.
Football shirt designs
During the World Cup soccer jersey sales went through the roof with fans buying a record number of new soccer jerseys and kits. What was also seen was a move away from the traditional countries football shirts to the rarer teams like Uruguay and Ghana. This was obviously affected by their success on the field but there is no denying that fans were keen to add lesser known shirts to their collection.
The high sales in soccer shirts have continued into the new football season with the new football shirts proving extremely popular with fans. This can be partly contributed to all the top teams releasing new football kits this year for the 2010-11 season but also by the fact that most of the top manufacturers have modernised their designs to offer the clubs supporters something a little bit different.
Amongst the most popular selling soccer shirts this year so far have been the Barcelona home, AC Milan home and the Inter Milan away. This is down to the new football jersey designs. Barcelona have kept their traditional red and blue stripes but have changed their collar to gold and their shorts to red, AC Milan have altered the width of their stripes, a small but significant change and Inter Milan have a snake down the side of their new away soccer jersey.
The competition between football shirt manufacturers is really hotting up which is only a good thing for supporters who will see the benefits of the competition in the form of new and innovative designs.
Football looks like it is going from strength to strength and the sales of football shirts show no sign of letting up, in fact the new footballs shirts prove more popular every year. There is a lot of pressure on the shirt manufacturers to keep producing new designs and styles with one bad design likely to prove costly to both the brand and the club but while it lasts things are looking up for the sales of new football shirts.
