What a great read! Nicola's TIME interview offers a glimpse into her journey from struggling actress to Bridgerton star, while also talking about how she handles the pressures of fame. From her views on the double standards in Hollywood to the ongoing speculation about her personal life.

Nicola is very candid about the pressures that come with fame. While she’s grateful for the opportunities Bridgerton has afforded her, she speaks openly about the uncomfortable scrutiny she faces. The public obsession with every detail of her life, including her weight, is something she calls out in the interview.

This interview also came before her statement about not filming strangers in public (although it is a possibility that they added this to the interview afterwards), when her location was leaked and she was filmed leaving a theatre. The incident prompted her to make a story about in on her Instagram.

It’s a reminder that her boundaries probably weren’t newly formed - they were already in place, and the incident in New York likely pushed her to call it out publicly.

Some have questioned why Nicola responded to that particular incident and not others. But as I’ve written about before on my blog, the specific circumstances in New York - her location being leaked - likely made her feel particularly vulnerable and triggered her decision to speak out.

Another layer that I think could be worth mentioning about Nicola speaking on the leaking of real-time locations, is the issue that Luke had over the summer with his friend group sharing his location in real-time. While Nicola doesn’t directly address that, it’s possible that witnessing how this played out could have contributed to her sensitivity regarding location leaks. Even if she wasn't directly referring to that particular incident, it's likely she felt strongly about it.

One of the most talked about moments in this article is when she discusses her relationship with Luke. I found it hilarious how she worded everything. She praises her “gorgeous friendship” with Luke but strategically avoids confirming or denying any romantic involvement. While she acknowledges their close bond, she sidesteps the dating rumours, offering just enough insight to keep fans interested without revealing too much. This is classic Nicola – it leaves fans room to speculate, but it also reinforces that a deep connection between a man and woman doesn’t always have to be romantic.

(So, my Lukola shipper followers, feel free to keep guessing - Nicola’s phrasing suggests she doesn’t mind the speculation!)

Another part of Nicola’s story, is the influence of her late father. He helped shape her worldview, giving her a perspective on why it's important to speak out. And why she speaks out about the causes she does.

Although Nicola hasn’t explicitly linked the passing of her father to her views on privacy, it’s possible that such a personal loss has influenced her approach to life, family, and relationships. Losing someone so close might have made her more protective of the people she holds dear and more determined to set firm boundaries when it comes to her personal life.

Felt particularly inspired on my trip today. A little something for my loves Evelyn and Callum until I’m home again, let me know your thoughts!

-As a child, Disney was such a mythical place. It’s where the rich kids go every school break. The land where her parents save every dime to try and take her and her siblings. A piece of the universe she craves to belong to.

-After early fame, Ev goes often. She takes pictures and brings all her friends and her family and walks around with a VIP guide and never smiles brighter than she does riding the coasters or the tea cups and laughing as if their is no weight on her shoulders. Some people stop for photos but it’s the right amount of wow I think I’m doing something special here and it’s not too much.

-After she skyrockets to fame in Star Wars (adding this to her filmography? Any thoughts?) it becomes much more commercialized. She’s trotted out in front of castles and waving and posing like plastic. Her ex husband is always there to hold her hand and kiss her. But he makes her ride the rides that scare her. Doesn’t let her get the Mickey shaped pizza she wants. Tells her she isn’t holding his hand the right way and people are watching. It’s as much performance for him and his career as it is for hers. It loses its magic and pixie dust and the fans are asking why Ev can only be seen at the theme parks for an event now. How she used to always be there eating popcorn and screaming on splash mountain and taking pictures with all the princesses. They all speculate that Hollywood has taken a fatal bite out of her. That she’s too busy with films and endorsements and magazine covers to be so fun loving anymore. They mourn the loss of the starlet they fell in love with and hope others will stop trying to scrape together the pieces of her now for just one more bite.

-BUT WITH CALLUM. God. He takes her because he knows it’s special and he knows it’s been awhile and he doesnt ask her why but he asks some of the people around her. They say it’s a him thing. An ‘her ex thought it was good for a photo op but ultimately very childish of her’ thing. And he buys her big and pink and princess-y ears and asks if she’ll keep them on because he thinks she looks gorgeous. And he takes photos for her in front of the castle (on his own with his phone and makes them his wallpaper) and he doesn’t flinch when she wants to ride on the carousel and laugh with him over how silly it is. Doesn’t flinch when she eats two Mickey ice cream bars for lunch and a pepperoni pizza for dinner. Buys the cheesy little photo of them on every rollercoaster because he had his arm around her protectively as she screams. It HEALS her to act like a child again and have someone WELCOME the youth that’s back in her cheeks. And he holds her while they watch the fireworks and he asks her if she’s happy and she smiles and says she feels like she got some magic back in her life. And Callum says that’s what he wished on a star for and she laughs and snuggles deeper and kisses his throat and tells him she loves him and will wish on a star for a forever just like this. And she goes home with a stuffed Marie from Aristocats and her phone died a long time ago and she didn’t even noticed and her feet hurt and she falls asleep in his shoulder in the car and she’s sunburnt and sweaty but clinging to him like a dream that she doesn’t want to fade away. And he just promises to make her wish come true. (Also he probably pulls the sword from the stone)

-BONUS: with their children. Ev always hires security when they go as a family and it hurts to take that bit of normalcy away from her kids but the media attention on her and Callum is too much for them to always be safe. He carries their daughters on his shoulders so they can see the parade and the shows. He knows the words to every song and sings his heart out with them. Crouches down to their level to point out Pooh and Mickey and Elsa. Ev is big on not having her kids ignore their gut so if they are afraid of the stranger in a costume then they don’t have to go and she won’t make them. They ride the carousel and dumbo over and over again because the baby of their family wants to. Callum confiscates the bubble wand when it nearly becomes a weapon. He takes so many photos of Ev holding their hands and walking around and when the littlest are in strollers sleeping but the oldest wants to ride thunder mountain one more time Cal tells Ev to go. Tells her it was her magic and pixie dust to share with their kids anyways. That the more memories she can make like this then the bad ones might drift so far away she won’t even think of them. The baby wakes up briefly to watch the show and ask her dad when he’s carrying her to the car and her cheek is smushed on his shoulder to ask if he’s a prince. And he tells her to ask mommy but she forgets and that night he and Ev are making out in bed and she calls him Prince Charming and laughs but shuts up real quick once he’s inside of her.

This is such a good read and explains the sudden weight loss. I know I don’t know him personally, but Glen does seem like a really good bro, and I’m so happy he’s at a great place in his career. (I also need to know what this Broadway musical is about!!)

Book Review: The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center

With The Rom-Commers, Katherine Center has officially cemented herself as one of my must-read authors. Am I a sucker for romcoms about writers? Yes. Will I read hundreds upon hundreds of stories about writers falling in love while they're writing? Also yes. (What can I say? I'm predictable like that.)

Even so, there was something so endearing, amusing, and surprisingly moving about this story featuring two screenwriters - one, an amateur named Emma Wheeler who has put her dreams on hold for a decade to be her father's sole caretaker only to now land the writing opportunity of a lifetime with her idol; the other, a Hollywood legend named Charlie Yates who has won multiple literary awards but can't seem to write a good romcom because he doesn't believe in love, because he thinks it's nothing more than a senseless, distracting affectation.

All in all, this was a grumpy-sunshine, opposites attract, workplace DESSERT of a story. Not only were Emma and Charlie stuck together inside the same house for six weeks, but there was witty banter, line dancing, swimming pool antics, kisses for "research," and an adorable but food-resistant guinea pig called Cuthbert. On top of that, there was nuanced sensitivity paid to issues surrounding ailing health, devastating loss, and family, which I felt added significant weight to the story as well as to the characters.

This was so cute, so sweet! Funny in spades, too. It's definitely the sort of book that makes readers believe, with their whole hearts, that love stories matter. So three cheers to that!

'Paycheck is not always on the priority list for many A-listers, as for several actors, the chance of working with their favorite filmmaker often prevails over their desire of wanting a hefty amount. Dancing had always been Taemin’s passion, for as long as he could move, he was also dancing. It was his entire life, so settling down was never in his agenda, but when he met his future wife, his mind changed. Trump 'more relatable than we want to admit': biopic star Sebastian Stan

'The Apprentice' star Sebastian Stan prepared for the role by devouring magazine interviews, watching videos and obsessively listening to audio of Donald Trump.

Sebastian Stan immersed himself 24/7 in Donald Trump's early life to research the new biopic "The Apprentice" -- and came to an unexpected realisation.

"A lot of the behaviour and the personality is much more relatable than we want to admit," said the Hollywood star, who has won critical acclaim for his uncanny performance.

The film, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, has drawn huge controversy and legal threats from the ex-president, particularly for a scene in which Trump is shown raping his wife.

But much of the film portrays a younger Trump as a nervous, naive outsider from New York's outer boroughs, trying to find his way in a cut-throat and elite Manhattan world he knows little about.

It is an approach sure to surprise, or even anger, anyone expecting or wanting a left-wing political hatchet job.

For Stan, who was born in Communist Romania and did not move to the United States until he was 12, that sense of Trump striving to belong resonated.

"My mother told me that I had to become somebody," he told AFP in an interview.

"There was a lot of shame, when I grew up, coming from Romania... 'don't tell people' and 'blend in.'"

The 41-year-old Stan has rocketed to fame in recent years, in large part due to his role as the Winter Soldier in a number of record-breaking Marvel superhero films.

But Stan drew parallels between his mother's message, and the intense pressure put on Trump and his brothers by their brutally tough father Fred.

As the film starts, Donald Trump is failing to convince his father that he can pull off a daring hotel deal.

Instead it is Roy Cohn, a formidable lawyer with powerful political connections, who believes in the young property developer, taking him under his wing.

While Trump is initially queasy about Cohn's willingness to "violate a few technicalities", he quickly adopts and even surpasses his mentor's embrace of the dark arts in pursuit of fame.

The movie shows how "anyone that grows up in America" can be corrupted by a capitalist society that rewards greed, ruthlessness and ambition, said Stan.

"Nothing is ever good enough. You look at people achieving things, but there's always more, you've got to have more," he said.

- 'Hardest scene' -

Stan prepared for the role by devouring magazine interviews, watching videos and obsessively listening to audio of Trump from the late '70s and early '80s.

He would listen "non-stop," whether driving, walking, shopping or even "on headphones in the bathroom."

Stan tried to avoid the many "Saturday Night Live"-style parodies of later-era Trump, noting that "you just had to put the noise away."

The role calls on Stan to gain weight as the years progress and he "tried to eat as much as I could" before certain shoots. Because not everything was shot in sequence, other scenes required prosthetics.

And then there is the much talked-about rape scene.

It occurs after an argument, in which Trump's first wife Ivana belittles him for growing fat and bald.

In real life, Ivana accused Trump of raping her during divorce proceedings but later rescinded the allegation.

Stan said preparing for that scene did not particularly trouble him.

Instead, "the hardest scene, that I was always afraid of", was another in which Trump mourns the loss of his older brother Freddy, an alcoholic who died aged 42.

Trump is shown genuinely caring for Freddy as well as Ivana, before his humanity is eroded by the power and wealth that devours him.

"It's interesting how much we don't want to remember about him," said Stan.
