So Oprah got caught laying about being on Ozempic the drug people use to lose weight.
And this ain’t to defend or condemn Oprah.
I can’t tell what Oprah’s intentions were but people who eat it’s always for emotional reason.
Not everyone who is over weight is just doing it to be lazy or careless.
It’s just their drug of choice.
Like real addicts who end up homeless.
So until they deal with what’s inside and what’s making them feel and think the way they do , they can’t change their choices.
But their health is at risk.
It’s always and going to be at risk.
Just don’t subscribe to Hollywood image of beauty is.

I would also like to point out that it's just...totally historically inaccurate (yes, I know, Hollywood doesn't care...)
6 pack abs are a modern thing, purely for aesthetics, because someone who actually does physical labour for a living does not look like that
I'm really over 'beauty standards' that force people into unhealthy behaviours. That goes for men as well as women. Hollywood can fuck right off.
A healthy and happy person is the most beautiful person they can be ♥️
I can't believe they're making Pedro get a six pack for the Gladiator sequel. You can't just deface a work of art like that. That's like going to see Michaelangelo's David and going "No actually his penis should be bigger. Somebody get me some plaster." Totally unnecessary.

maws 🤝 caped crusader
squeamishly avoids discussion of racism in the themes they present (insisting on escapism as their reasoning to not talk about it) resulting in white characters accidentally becoming the only marginalized characters.
#ramblings#i can only speak for maws s1. but i highly doubt the creative team is suddenly race conscious in s2#“look at superman going through xenophobia! so sad!” asian lois is right there#“aaw Basil karlo is marginalized by hollywood beauty standards! so sad!” miss Francis- a WOC- is right there

get you a man who can do both
#he’s so multi-faceted!!!!!#people who say maximus is boring and uncomplex as a character literally fight me#he is so nuanced and deeply characterized#the fact that he’s such a good devoted and honorable man makes him less interesting???#in our world of morally gray antiheroes we’ve lost the ability to treasure a character who is genuinely good-hearted#that’s why maximus stands out so much as a movie hero#we don’t see characters like him because hollywood thinks morally gray = the only way to be interesting#you people don’t know where our media culture came from!!!#you people don’t realize that without characters like maximus the antiheroes mean nothing!!!#you have to have the standard before you can have the deviation#and maximus is the golden standard#his goodness and honesty and sincerity and kindness and selflessness shadow everything he does#it changes the entire course of the film#it drives not only his character arc but those of the other characters too!!#i recently saw an article describing maximus as an antihero and i was like#DUDE#YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT WORD MEANS#maximus is literally the blueprint for a traditional hero and that’s why i will never cease being obsessed with him#he is the hero i need in my life#we all need a superman and he is mine#maximus how i adore you equally for your fierce snarls and your soft smiles#my perfect beautiful wonderful husband <3#gladiator#maximus#maximus decimus meridius#gladiator 2000#russell crowe#funny#memes

Here's a thing, and this might be a minor thing to be annoyed at but,
When there's a picture of a good looking celebrity and the tweet is like "this is what being unbothered looks like👏🏻👏🏻" or like "this is what being unproblematic/prioritizing yourself looks like" and its a photo of a celebrity who did 100% had things done to their face and its not even about the plastic surgery stuff here, and its not even above the weird obsession with youth (while simultaneously screaming performatively how aging is graceful) that's another issue but what gets me is how people are equating looking naturally good (even if its not natural) to being a good person… as if looking good and youthful is somehow a consequence of being a good person. Do you guys get where I'm going with this? Why are people equating beauty with goodness? Why is it normalized in this specific context? I just think its weird

i wonder if graham is actually considered as attractive as he’s convinced he is and is the height of suit looks or if jennifer is just, like, an outlier and he’s nothing to really write home about
#i didn’t say jennifer AND flint because who knows why flint likes him#what do you guys think#by all means compared to other suits he’s like. pretty normal#look at a minger look at a mr hollywood#both have big smiles and are more humanoid than other cogs#maybe he’s just conceited and confident#which adds to anybody’s appearance really#maybe suits don’t really have any sort of standard of beauty#since they can really look like anything#Maybe Jennifer is just Like That.#pacesetter#toontown corporate clash#adam chatting

The OG of beauty and when it goes too far
This is all these women in their prime, obviously, but what about when plastic surgery takes it to too far in some cases, when you’ve had too much lip filler too much Botox changed your face about too much it looks completely different, I was watching Robbie Williams documentary and how they used to call him in the 90s and I literally couldn’t believe it when he was just a normal size man, the same size as my father who was just a normal normal size man tiny bit of a belly but not ridiculously fat not fat at all.
I can’t even imagine what it would be like Hollywood or any kind of media outlet and celebrities from England say that the British pressure is definitely the worst, some Americans would say it’s the other way round don’t Americans don’t Courtney Love say that she was treated really well in the British media because of her love of teacup and other things English, I don’t know really but I’ve seen pretty bad, you don’t get blind items over here. I’ve tried to look for some English celebrities because they’re just not famous in America and it’s one big thing for English artist to crack America.
But some of these women and people get really annoyed when I say I prefer Bobby Jean Brown to Pamela Anderson, just love her personality and I love her style and I don’t like the way that she knew that Tommy had a girlfriend and got with him anyway, anyway it’s Tommy’s fault really because he’s the one who is in a relationship.
But I look at Megan Fox now who is stunning in the mid 2000 and I feel like she’s turned herself into something Genzie like because even Holly Madison and Bridget Marquette, was saying that you can’t be beautiful enough for nowadays. Everything has to have a filter those pictures of like Gwyneth Paltrow with a filter over her face from the 90s.
I’m sorry these kids from this generation don’t seem to think they are attractive but they were fucking stunning, I know they love Pam but they need to love these other women too because they’ve given so much of their life to us😍 they deserve some sort of love.
I guess you can’t have enough beauty in this industry, like plastic surgery drugs and all the other things become very addictive, and they have all the money and the resources to do so, I mean look at the Kardashians when they started, they were a rich family growing up, but they have changed over the years Kim Kardashian, especially and Khloe, khloe was always told that she was the ugly one out of the sisters, she was just a normal Armenian and a woman, beautiful but natural, but that’s not enough even they move growing up around it, actually makes it worse, and Kylie Jenner not forgetting having her lips done and it just being a huge thing because she was so young that’s a sad part.

i love finishing a book or movie and then going to read reviews of it so i can judge them for being wrong
#watched the substance and one of the reviews was like 'maybe i didnt get the movie but you cant convince me demi moore is ugly'#that is correct you didnt get the movie#shes not ugly but she lets beauty standards get to her until she thinks she actually is#real people like the friend she met from school think shes gorgeous! bc she is!#its all abt her body image and perception of herself#she makes the 'old' version of herself rot inside instead of going out and living what could be an amazing life#shes fixated on her own youth and beauty to the point that she becomes a monster#and then in the end she finds the same pleasure of the flashing lights and attention and Hollywood glamor#by stopping to enjoy a simple pleasure like looking up at the stars#im biting the bars of my enclosure#i rly loved this movie#README

Ariana, Selena, Rihanna, Taylor, Camila Cabello and the list can go on and on of these women and many others whose bodies have been criticized and picked apart by the social media and the public over the years. Yesterday, I watched the tiktok that Ariana posted talking about how she’s fine and for people to stop commenting on her body and health. Although, I get why fans tend to worry over their favs when their bodies or appearance changes drastically because in the past many celebs had to practically starve themselves or bring harm to themselves because their labels or team made them keep a certain image. However, I do think that sometimes fans or the media can go a bit overboard with expressing their concerns. For example, if you constantly are talking about how a celeb looks sick, that they're dying, ugly, fat, or that they lost their beauty or are going downhill, then you are crossing a line. Because what if they do have a medical issue or disorder or what if they're at their healthiest and someone commenting that they don’t look like how they did before is not going to make them feel any better. I also think it’s weird that physical looks are so heavily tied to determining the value of a female celebrity or any one for that matter. Like women can never truly look perfect. They are either too skinny or fat, short or too tall, either look too manly, too old, wrinkly, too plastic, their dresses are too short or they cover up their body too much. One example is Billie Eilish, now I’m not a fan of hers but the way the media kind of praised her but at the same time was someone shaming her because of the mystery of her body. She made it known when she was a teen that she liked wearing baggy clothes because she didn’t want people to pay attention to her body more than her music, which made perfect sense. However, people ended up focusing on her body even more especially when some pap photos came out where she was wearing a tank top and people would make comments that she was overweight or on her chest size. She even got more backlash when she appeared on vogue where she was wearing lingerie, I believe and her fans were upset because they felt she was being a hypocrite. My thing is that she grew up, there is nothing wrong with wanting to be covered up just as much as there’s nothing wrong with wanting to dress sexy. I just don’t like how female celebs will get ranked based on their looks like Adele was never seen as attractive but know that she lost weight, She’s hot and a classic beauty or how designers didn’t want to dress Bebe Rexha cuz she didn’t fit their body type. Even the Kardashians, like Kourtney is being praised for showing off her natural body but where was the same energy for Khloe when she was being called Fat and the ugly sister, know she got surgery and somehow she’s plastic and seen as an attention seeker. It’s like Women can never win, but have to be perfect even though there is no such thing as perfect.

One of the biggest lies Hollywood has told us is that we can be sexy taking our hair out of a bun. I don't know about ya'll, but when I take my hair out of a bun, I look like Emma Watson in the first Harry Potter movie.
