i think it's incredible that percy's high school counselor knows that he's a demigod. after all these years of being belittled and ridiculed for learning disabilities that stem from his demigod persona. not being able to plead his case because no one would believe him anyway. then finally getting an in. a counselor who is not only armed with the tools to set him up for success. but in a way that coincides with his demigod persona. and aligns with his personal goals in the mortal world moving forward. he is no longer half a person. but a singular individual. i hope this continues to be a good thing for him.

Sir Evelyn's search history is a sight to behold.
Hold Fast is a gay Victorian romance between a whaling harpooner who inherits a baronetcy and the estate agent tasked with turning him from sailor to gentleman.
Morgan Turner, agent to the Winthrop estate, owes everything to his benefactor. When the late baronet’s will tasks him with finding the lost heir and making a gentleman of him, he is determined to succeed.
Thirteen years ago, Evelyn Winthrop ran away to sea. Now that his hated patriarch is dead, the ancestral home he returns to is more shadowed than what he left behind. Ungrateful relations and old friends alike tie a knot of scandal and depravity only a sailor could hope to unravel. And all the while, the siren song of the sea calls him to return at the first opportunity.
Neither anticipated forming more tender attachments.
To Evelyn, his unexpectedly handsome agent is the only thing anchoring him to shore. He sees a captain’s soul within Morgan, and his heart is caught upon the hook of command—if only Morgan would return his affections.
To Morgan, his new employer’s charms threaten to tear down the thorns that have grown around his heart—thorns he cultivated to restrain his unnatural instincts.
When the estate and all who live there are threatened by a maelstrom of bitter secrets and sinister plots, it is down to Morgan to take command, down to Evelyn to hold fast, and down to them both to navigate their own treacherous sea.

I firmly believe they have two choices for the end of season 2 when Poseidon sends Percy his letter.
Option 1: they stay true to the book.
Tumblr media
Option 2: they call back to season 1
Tumblr media
I think both choices are powerful in different ways and I'm very excited to see what they choose.

ok last thing i will say. The PJO TV Show was fun. It was exciting. The characters were easy to connect with and I want to see more of this world. Was it perfect? No. But if I step back from my twenty somethin self who has loved this series for a decade +, I realize that PJO is a show that genuinely engages its key audience and I can only imagine it gets better and more mature with every season. Much like Harry Potter movies, I’m sure diehard fans bemoaned the missing details and the characterizations and the pacing and the actors, but the movies were so successful in bringing in new fans and new readers and new enthusiasm. In the end, that’s I want for Percy Jackson, and I think this tv series is the perfect vehicle for that.

When Buck answered the door in his apron, I was so focused on hoping it wasn’t Tommy that I was completely unprepared for what came after with Eddie and Kim. That was SUCH whiplash

Uh oh another Nothwell character gets an appendectomy
*Morgan, clutching to the multiple page appendix attached to his instructions for running the household in his and Evalyn’s absence*
*Evalyn desperately trying to fling it into the fire for the sake of everyone left behind during their sea voyage*

ep 7 thoughts ⚡️
if annabeth is 6 steps ahead, she must've realized who was the thief.. and was trapped in asphodel because she knew she couldn't tell them?! she loves Luke like a brother. and they know each other very well. and I don't think she would be willing to snitch on him that easily
anyway obviously Kronos had also appeared to Luke in dream form, but Luke actually did [it] / bring down olympus
also, loved the poseidon cameo and Hades!! I feel like he gave exactly the right eccentric uncle vibes, but also his selfishness about the bolt and protecting himself against kronos would be perfect for his character I think!
we may not have gotten as much obvious percabeth content, but I think the little details were *chefs kiss*
and the set design. Maybe a bit bland to some but I LOVED it
k bye ⚡️⚡️⚡️

When Percy was fighting to get to the surface in that river, do you think he thought first of his father? Wishing he was worthy of recognition from him. Wishing that in his last moments his father might finally recognize him. He was in Poseidon’s domain after all. But his father hadn’t bothered to help him before, why would he now.
Do you think he thought of his father, or do you think he thought of sally; “shes the one who cared enough to call herself my mother” because all sally ever did was care. Do you think he thought of her, holding him tight, and whispering in his ear, “hold fast, brave the storm”. Do you think when that spirit spoke to him all he heard was “breathe” and he was 7 years old again in that pool, his mothers arms around him as he hugged the edge, fear grasping his heart, but his mother holding him harder.
When that spirit spoke to him, do you think he heard her?
Or did he hear his mothers voice? Did he hear his mothers voice as he fell from the arch?
“Hold fast, brave the storm”
Do you think his mothers voice was in his mind as he faced down the chimera? As he spoke with medusa? Did his mothers voice, her lesson come back to him? Telling him to consider medusa as a friend and not an enemy. “Not everyone who looks like a hero is a hero, and not everyone who looks like a monster is a monster.”
Did he hear his mothers voice when he stared down clarisse, daughter of ares. Do you think his bravery comes from his father who has given him nothing, but who eveyrone expects hum to worship?? Or from his mother who taught him love and bravery and kindness, and empathy??
“Hold fast, Perseus. Brave the storm that was made to break us, for we are unbreakable.”
