i finally bought sushi from the Hissho Sushi place that just opened up on campus, i got the Dynamite Roll because it had the most stuff that I thought I would like, plus it didn’t have any cucumbers. so many of the sushis they have contain cucumbers, and i hate cucumbers

Hissho Orange Chicken

Hissho Sushi has been a staple for most of my foods this year. Today I got orange chicken with a side of steamed rice. Typically, the portion sizes are very small so I decided to get some extra on the side this time and it was very worth it. They gave me a very large portion of orange chicken and steamed rice and it was very good today. Personally, Hissho Sushi is either a hit or miss depending on how the chicken was cooked that day but today it was a hit. The chicken was both crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside which is just how I like it and the rice wasn’t too spicy today. I would rate this meal a 8/10 as it could have been better but I definitely still enjoyed it.

Day 6: Hissho Sushi

Okay I know I know I already went to Hissho Sushi this week, BUT this time I went to the actual restraint instead of buying their brand at the market. Ever since I moved in last month people have been raving about Hissho Sushi’s sriracha orange chicken so I knew I had to try it. I ordered it off Grubhub today for lunch, surprise surprise. I got it with white rice but there were other options like vegetable fried rice and vegetable lo mein. When I arrived at Hissho Sushi to pick up my meal I was informed by the kind employees that they just ran out of sriracha orange chicken but a new batch would be out in 5-6 minutes. When 5-6 minutes passed my number was called and I grabbed my food. I made my way back to my dorm, grabbed a water, and sat on the front porch of my building with a friend to try this legendary sriracha orange chicken. I was disappointed when I opened the box, because the rice to chicken ratio was terrible to say the least and there was not any extra sriracha orange chicken sauce to mix into the rice. I tried to put that aside, hoping the chicken would live up to its expectations but the outer breaded layer of the chicken was very difficult to put my fork into and the texture was like styrofoam when I bit into it. Other than that, it tasted great. Have I had better? Yes. Would I order again? Considering it did not live up to the hype, I would most likely give it a second chance. Is it a snack? No, but it also isn’t a yack. Hissho Sushi’s sriracha orange chicken is a mystery as of right now. Try it for yourself and let me know what y’all think.
