Starbucks Summer Drink

For my last blog post, I wanted to switch it up a little bit and review a new Starbucks drink that I tried. With the weather getting warmer, I always go for a refresher and today was no different. I decided to try out the strawberry acai refresher with lemonade. This drink tasted like summer and was definitely a great choice on a hot day. The drink was both sweet with a little hint of sourness from the lemonade. Additionally, the strawberries inside the drink were a nice touch and really added to the flavor. I might have to have this new drink become my summer drink!

Easter Brunch

Typically on Easter, I always have brunch with my family but this year being at college me and a few friends decided to get brunch together at Market on Main. For brunch today, I got the “MOM” Burger, which is two patties with lettuce and onions and pickles. The burger, while being a little big, was very delicious and I was fully satisfied with it. It also came with a side of truffle fries which might have been my favorite part of the meal. They were very flavorful and matched well with the burger. I would definitely go back to this restaurant and would recommend the “MOM” burger to all my friends.

Hickory Tavern

This week my parents were in town to visit me and we decided to try out a new restaurant, Hickory Tavern. I had heard great things about this place so I wanted to give it a try. The atmosphere of this place was very fun and welcoming, with many sports games playing on tvs all throughout the restaurant. I decided to get the steamed shrimp basket with a side of french fries. The steamed shrimp were delicious and they even put Old Bay seasoning on them, like they do in my hometown. The fries were not as crispy as I typically like but they were still very good. Overall, I would rate this place a 9/10.

Baseball Game Dinner

For tonight's dinner, I decided to rate my food experience at South Carolina’s baseball game. I got a hot dog with ice cream with sprinkles for dessert. The hot dog was delicious and I even went back to get another one once I was finished. Stadium food can sometimes not be very good but this one was a pleasant surprise. I got my ice cream in a souvenir baseball cap cup and the vanilla soft serve was delicious and the rainbow sprinkles were the perfect touch. This food made my baseball game experience a 10/10 and I would suggest all my friends to go.

Honeycomb Dining Hall

I have been to a few of the dining halls before, and Honeycomb has always seemed to be my favorite. I went here for dinner and got myself a hot dog with french fries on the side. Typically I get pizza here, but I have always been a fan of hot dogs so I wanted to try one. Although, I don’t think I will be getting it again. The bun was dry and the hot dog was not very tasty, forcing me to give it only a 4/10. On the other hand, my fries were absolutely delicious and I would rate them a 10/10. They were both crunchy but not burned, and had just the right amount of salt. I do like to try new foods so maybe next time I am here I will try something different!

Hissho Orange Chicken

Hissho Sushi has been a staple for most of my foods this year. Today I got orange chicken with a side of steamed rice. Typically, the portion sizes are very small so I decided to get some extra on the side this time and it was very worth it. They gave me a very large portion of orange chicken and steamed rice and it was very good today. Personally, Hissho Sushi is either a hit or miss depending on how the chicken was cooked that day but today it was a hit. The chicken was both crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside which is just how I like it and the rice wasn’t too spicy today. I would rate this meal a 8/10 as it could have been better but I definitely still enjoyed it.

Carolina Creamery Ice Cream

I was craving some dessert tonight and headed to Carolina Creamery in Russell House to get some ice cream. I decided to try a new cookie dough brownie flavor mixed in with vanilla ice cream. Normally I stray away from flavors besides vanilla but I wanted to give it a try. It was absolutely delicious and I would recommend it to all of my friends. The brownie and cookie dough mixture was very well balanced and gave the ice cream a little something extra. I would rate this ice cream a 20/10 as it was one of the best flavors I have ever tried.

Chick-fil-A Lunch

For today's lunch, I decided to get Chick-fil-A. I don’t order from here as often as I’d like due to the long line and wait time. Although this time I got lucky, and had my lunch within 2 minutes after ordering. I got a chicken sandwich with fries and it was delicious. I paired it with ranch from the restaurant which was a very good touch. They put a good amount of pickles on the sandwich and the bun was not soggy at all. Overall, I would rate this lunch a 9/10 and will definitely be ordering from here again.

Old Chicago

My mom visited this weekend and we decided to try a new dinner spot. We went to Old Chicago for dinner and it was delicious. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs with a side of garlic bread. I would rate both foods a 10/10. The garlic bread was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of garlic and cheese. Additionally, the pasta was very tasty on its own but the meatballs added just the right touch. While the wait was a little long, the staff took care of us and it was definitely worth it. I will be coming back here again, hopefully ordering something new that would be just as good as my dinner tonight.

Carolina Cafe

Today I decided to try Carolina Cafe, a bagel shop near campus. After my experience with Einstein last week, I wanted to try a new bagel place. My roommates said great things about this place so I wanted to give my opinion. I would give the cafe a 9/10. I got two plain bagels toasted with cream cheese. The bagels were perfectly toasted with a good amount of cream cheese and it came out very quickly which was nice. Additionally, the staff there was very friendly and very efficient, keeping the line moving fast. I would definitely recommend this to friends, and I will be going back.

McDonalds Dinner

For my dinner today, I decided to get Uber Eats. I wanted a break from Russell House and the dining halls and was in the mood for some McDonalds. I got a 10 piece nugget meal with fries and a Diet Coke. I would rate today's dinner a 10/10. The delivery was exceptionally quick which allowed the food to stay hot in the bag. The fries were very salty today and the nuggets were perfectly cooked leaving the meal to be delicious. The one thing that made it better was the Diet Coke from McDonalds, which is somehow always the best Diet Coke. Overall, my meal was very worth the wait and I will definitely be getting it again.

Einstein Bagels

Today for lunch I decided to get a bagel from Einstein Bagels here on campus. I get one of these bagels almost everyday but today's bagel only gets a 6/10 rating. The toaster inside the restaurant was broken, and they put a limited amount of cream cheese on my bagel. Although, I paired it with an ice cold diet coke which was much needed with this lunch. Luckily there was no line inside the store making my time inside very quick as I was in and out. Overall, my lunch today was satisfactory but I will be looking to branch out at new restaurants for a possibly better spot.
