There are many thoughts and apprehension regarding the topic of cover letters. Should I or shouldn’t I? Yes. No. Maybe so? I don’t know!
Let’s help clear the air.
I would like to share an experience I had as a corporate recruiter, when a software engineering candidate came to me with relevant education but not quite enough experience. The candidate chose to supplement their application with a genuine and authentic cover letter.
They wrote about their personal experience as it related to the hiring team’s projects and mission. I was able to further tell the candidate’s story to the hiring manager who was willing to consider the applicant and application. After a series of interviews and due diligence, the candidate was hired!
This may be an unusual situation, but it illustrates the power of teamwork from everyone involved; an original and honest candidate, an open-minded hiring manager, and a recruiter who listens to their instincts.
My recommendation to candidates facing the cover letter conundrum is to use your own judgement whether to submit one or not. If you decide to provide one, be your genuine, true self. If a cover letter does not feel necessary, use the objective or introduction section of your resume to convey genuine interest. Draw anecdotes that connect relatable personal experience to the role under consideration.

Danny was being harassed in broad daylight.
He can’t get the guy to take a hint and frankly he’s going to be late for his new job if he can’t get through the door.
Just when he was starting to think that he would have to hit him, a hand gently rested on his shoulder.
“Hey Chum sorry it took me so long to get here but traffic was a killer! Is this man bothering you?”
Turns out His boss Bruce Wayne is actually a nice man.
Too bad Gotham gossips worst than a small town.
Seriously guys, this isn’t funny, it stopped being funny the third time he got picked out of a crowd as the “new Wayne.”

Byzantine history teaches us that even the most unassuming person with some pluck and courage can rise to the exalted halls of history in a time of crisis, totally fuck it up, and die ignominiously. it's like some kind of inverse LotR that way

Hijack
There are many suggestions for the origin of the word hijack, a 19th century Americanism that originally meant the coercion or illegal seizure of a person. In all versions of the word's possible origins, the plot line and outcome are the same: one person is seized forcibly by another. The stories vary only in the identity of the person responsible for the seizure or the use of the key word, hijack.
According to the nautical version, " Hi, Jack!" was a prostitute's come-on to a lonely sailor on shore leave. Anticipating a pleasureable encounter with the lady of the night, a distracted, unwary sailor was instead struck from behind and knocked senseless by one of "the lady's" confederates.
He was then sold to a ship in need of a crew. The counterpart where a poor Sailor was kidnapped while drunk and then in a state of drunken unconsciousness was dragged onto a ship - usually to China - was called Shanghaiing.
The word hijack, also spelled highjack, now means the illegal seizure of cargo or a vehicle in transit, or sometimes even the theft of ideas.

We're thinking if nothing else she can get reimbursed for the $100 boots, but we're still not sure they'd pay her for the four hours she did (bc they said they'd get fined if they hired ppl without a license, so we're thinking they'll refuse to pay her to avoid the fine bc she doesn't have a license🙄), but we're also unsure who to go to for the blame bc there's like at least 3 different people involved in the miscommunication and hiring.
