SWK, putting on a mask: I will conceal my face and make this industrial pipeyard my bachelor pad so no one knows its me
also SWK: *has this epic motorcycle monkey sculpture on display*
IT EVEN HAS THE SAME BLING HE DOES SIR!!!
HOW DID NO ONE KNOW IT WAS YOU
#rewatching Nezha Reborn after having more knowledge of Monkey King lore is just me facepalming and going#BRO if you ever got visited by old frenemies from back in the days you'd've been busted in 2 seconds flat#lmk may be my favorite reimagining/addition to jttw storywise so far but this is definitely my favorite interpretation of Sun Wukong#several-thousand year old magic monkey stays in his silk pjs al day and hyperfixates on motorcycles#do you think in his closet its just:#pink suit pink suit pink suit HOT pink suit pink su-#and then several sets of the silk bathrobe and pjs#and then the only pairs of shoes he owns - the snazzy spiked heel leather ones and a ratty pair of flip flops#whats funnier: swk building this sculpture himself or commissioning an artist to do it#maybe later i can get a text extractor to work on that pic and find out#very curious to know what the characters on the bike wheel mean#i'm also curious to know why/what the significance of giving the sculpture multiple sets of arms is#like it reminds me of statues of hindu gods i've seen pics of so maybe its a hinduism reference but alas i know not#nezha reborn#sun wukong

Mandalorians paint their statues just like Hindus do. You can't tell me a culture for which paint and armor are this full of meaning and importance, have blank, unpainted statues. Especially since I believe they mostly only represent ancestors (including historical figures obviously) and the Ka'ra (past mand'alors), so they wouldn't let them with unpainted armor.
I think the difference with Hindu tradition would be that they wouldn't adorn the statues with added jewelery, clothes... Because that would have been translated by adding armor to a statue in a kute, however armors are too important to be simply exposed like that. Maybe added cape and weapons, that sort of things though ? But mostly the only addition made continually, that wasn't a direct part of the creation of the statue, would be paint, I think.
#i think it could be neat if the mandalorians also go paint the statues in the space museums just like hindus do for their gods#sw art and culture#sw#mandalorian culture#hi tumblr void

Is there any myth that says that goddesses menstruate??
I was thinking about Calypso now and how crazy it would be if she had never experienced menstruation before
Congratulations, you are a human who bleeds monthly 🎉👹

The "sequel" to The Beetle is The Goddess. The main guy Ferguson is basically Sydney always ready to throw hands with everyone.
The entire plot is the Born Sexy Yesterday trope because he falls in love with a beautiful, childlike amnesiac woman.
Oh trust me I have read it LMAO well, skimmed it because I value my emotional stability.
There is also The Joss, which is about yet another "oriental" entity trying to destroy England. Richard Marsh basically wrote the same book three times and The Beetle is inexplicably the most competent of them.
#Theb is the only one of the three villains with an actual personality and discernible motivation#The other two are *checks notes* Hindu statue and Chinese statue#anonymous asks
