Why Gandhi is a piece of shit and you should hate him.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi has been established in our history as a "Mahatma" which means "great soul"
This man is anything but that.
He is EVERYWHERE. He's on our currency, he's revered as a hero who saved India, and we have a mandatory holiday on October 2nd in honor of him.
If you didn't know, now you're going to get to know why he was a horrible human being. Let's begin.
This man managed to fool people Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela (among many others) into thinking he was a good person.
Here is some of the shit he's done:
In 1903, when Gandhi was in South Africa, he wrote that white people there should be "the predominating race." He also said black people "are troublesome, very dirty, and live like animals."
Refused to have sex with his wife for the last 38 years of their marriage. He felt that in order to test his commitment to celibacy, he would have beautiful young women (including his own great niece) lie next to him naked through the night. His wife, whom he described as looking like a "meek cow" was no longer desirable enough to be a solid test.
Believed that Indian women who were raped lost their value as a human.
During Gandhi's time as a dissident in South Africa, he discovered a male youth had been harassing two of his female followers. Gandhi responded by personally cutting the girls' hair off, to ensure the "sinner's eye" was "sterilised". Gandhi boasted of the incident in his writings, pushing the message to all Indians that women should carry responsibility for sexual attacks upon them.
He argued that fathers could be justified in killing daughters who had been sexually assaulted for the sake of family and community honour.
Gandhi also waged a war against contraceptives, labelling Indian women who used them as whores.
He believed menstruation was a "manifestation of the distortion of a woman's soul by her sexuality".
On 6th April 1947, he gave a speech where he said, “ If the Muslims are out there slicing through Hindu masses to wipe out the Hindu race, the Hindus should say nothing and peacefully accept death”.
He hated the great Hindu rulers, especially Shivaji Maharaj. To please the Muslims, he banned the book named ShivBhaavani which correctly depicted Islam’s intolerance and fierce fundamentalism spread by it.
Refused his wife life-saving medication (for religious reasons), but those religious reasons all of a sudden no longer applied to him when he was in a similar position.
Started a fast unto death when Ambedkar asked for separate electorates for Dalits.
Gandhi left his ailing father on his deathbed, to sleep with his wife. The child born out of this copulation died in infancy. According to Gandhi, the death of this infant was the result of this evil karma.
Gandhi, even when he claimed to be the angel of non-violence, made no efforts to prevent the British from deploying Indian troops at various locations during World War II.
Kashmir was invaded by Pakistan in 1947, the brutal Pakistani army committed heinous crimes against Kashmiri Pandits including mass rape and mass killings consequently many Pandits were forced to flee to Delhi and other places. In one incident Pandits took refuge in an abandoned mosque in Delhi. Infuriated, Gandhi threatened to fast to death if the Pandits didn't leave. The Pandits were slaughtered in a communal riot as soon as they abandoned the mosques.
Criticized the Jews for defending themselves against the Holocaust because he insisted that they should have committed public mass suicide in order to "shame" the Germans instead of fighting back. His exact words were, "But the Jews should have offered themselves to the butcher's knife. They should have thrown themselves into the sea from the cliffs. As it is, they succumbed anyway in their millions."
And this is all from a simple Internet search compiled here. I wonder what else is hiding if I do a deep dive.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Astrology observations: LONG DRIVE EDITION 🛣️
LET'S GOOOOOOO!!! 🏁 🚘
🚋 This post is dedicated to my prominent mercury and third house placement folks who love their long drives, cars, and road trips.
🚋 Uranus/Aquarius in 3rd house ppl may own a car which may have a unique aspect to it, like the model of the car has been stopped being sold by the company, not many people may buy it, it may be electrical, etc.
🚋 With Uranus in 3rd house, you may also go on sudden, spontaneous trips.
🚋 Okay but my condolences to the Sagittarius folks who love traveling but also have Virgo placements (especially if they are squaring), y'all how are your motion sickness and stomach problems while traveling 🫣, mine ain't better.
🚋 Growing up, folks with Sagittarius moon/ Jupiter conj Moon/ Jupiter in the 4th house may have traveled to a lot of spiritual and pilgrimage places with their parents.
🚋 Capricorn/Cancer/Taurus placements for what I've observed is that they want to travel slowly, like if going on a long drive they are the ones who make sure the ride is comfortable by stopping by food stations/ scenery checkpoints etc, they ain't hurrying that's why they are my fav travel buddies.
🚋 Pisces/ 12th house placements/Neptune in the 3rd house 🤝 taking a good ass nap while sitting on the backseat. Ik ppl who have this placement who'll legit not sleep throughout the night just so they could sleep while traveling XD.
🚋 Gemini placements are a great source of entertainment while traveling XD. They've got everything. They'll make jokes and be funny all the time but also if you're curious about the place they'll have the facts up their sleeves.
🚋 Leo, Taurus and Libra placements 🤝 shopping, especially the cutesy souvenirs.
🚋About pilgrimage and spiritual sanctuaries, I've noticed that Capricorn placements also love to visit them, especially when they get older.
🚋 Libra, Scorpio, Cancer, and Pisces placements 🤝 daydreaming/reminiscing while listening to music and looking outside the window.
🚋 If you wanna dine the right place, I think it is quite well known by now to take Virgo, Taurus or Sagittarius folk with ya. They know and have it well researched.
🚋 Aries/prominent Mars placements (especially in the 3rd house)🤝 loving that adrenaline rush from driving on rocky terrains and fast driving on the highways.
BONUS: Some asteroids associated with gods of travel and my take on em 🛣️
Ganesa (2415) - Hindu God of wealth and wisdom. Also known to be the "remover of obstacles" that's why he is prayed for before embarking on a new journey be it literally or metaphorically. Having it prominent in your chart may indicate where you'll be successful in your ventures, where you may have a lot of luck and wisdom by your side, and where you may gain wealth.Where new beginnings will be auspicious for you.
Hermes (69230) - Many consider this Greek god as the "Jack-of-all-trades" as he is considered to be the patron god of travel, art, invention, trade, literature, and also of thieves. Planet Mercury is associated with this deity hence having it prominent in your chart may indicate that you may also be a jack-of-all-trades, clever, cunning, and intelligent. Having it prominent in your chart may also indicate you may get away from the troubles and consequences of your actions by using your wit easily.
Vibilia (144) - Roman goddess of the journey, "the right way", short and long trips as well as roads. Having it prominent in your chart may indicate what inspires you to travel, your spiritual/symbolic or literal journey. Being prominent in solar return may be an indication of travel that year.
Adeona (145) - The Roman goddess of safe return, she is also considered the protector of children who travel to come back home (isn't that wholesome?), and also the goddess of homecoming. Having it wherever in your chart may indicate aspects of your life that you return to for comfort and safety. What aspects of your life are where you return and settle in after completing all your endeavors.

• I'm visiting my hometown and there was a major festival called Durga Puja a few days ago and so it made me think why not write something about it which includes my ultimate bias Bang Chan.
• Here Bang Chan is not a Stray Kids member, just a regular boy.
• Where my desi Stays at ?
• Anyways for context Durga Puja, is an annual festival originating in the Indian subcontinent which reveres and pays homage to the Hindu goddess Durga, and is also celebrated because of Durga's victory over the demon Mahishasura.
• You had met your best friend Chan when you went to study MBA in a reputed Australian university. Despite your cultural differences y'all became fast friends, bonding over similar music tastes.
• Your other friends there called you things like "two peas in a pod" and "everlasting friends", one never leaving the other alone.
• He was always in awe of your Indian/Bengali culture. You were one of those who took immense pride in their culture, never one to shy away about being Indian. He was always asking you questions about your culture and you found his curiosity really impressive and daresay, cute.
• So naturally after you went back home after your MBA y'all kept in touch for a year when it finally occurred to you that you missed your best friend and texting and video calling just wasn't enough.
• So you invited him over after informing your parents. Your Indian parents raised their eyebrow at first at you at the idea of a "forsha chele" (white guy) and after bombarding multiple questions at you about Chan like "what does he do?","what are his future plans?""do you like this boy?","where did you two meet in University, you went to befriend boys in the university instead of studying?"(at which you rolled your eyes) , your parents hesitantly agreed to have him over.
• This was Chan's first trip to a foreign country and he was excited to go meet with his best friend whom he missed a ton too.
• His flight landed at 5pm on a Tuesday in the Indian time and soon y'all headed to your home in Kolkata. The city was full of colorful banners and people, all busy shopping for the upcoming festival.
• "Wow it's crowded", Chan giggled, "but I like the smell of this flower that I'm getting, it's strong but pleasant". "You'll find this saptaparni flower growing only during this time Channie", you explain, as you go shopping after some time for some Indian attire.
• He shyly asked to try out Indian attire and you pleasantly surprised at the request. So you took him out shopping, with your protective parents in tow, who were smitten with Chan since his first "Nomoshkar" (Bengali version of Namaste, a form of Indian greeting) with folded hands. They eagerly helped the shy and overwhelmed Chan choose his outfits and you felt for a second as if he was their child and not you and you found it adorable how well he was getting along with your parents.
• Soon the days of the festival finally arrived. You had heart eyes seeing Chan in traditional attire and can't help but blush a bit at the sight of your best friend, but you'd never admit it to him, yet you showered the shy boy with compliments and he giggled cutely and went "naurrrr" and hid his face in his hands.
• He, too, was blushing and gushing at how beautiful you looked in a saree. This was his first time seeing you in Indian attire too
• For five days straight, you went to different pandals in the city. (pandal is a large, temporary, open-sided tent that is often used for religious or other gathering). He was in awe of their exquisite artwork and the decorations and fairy lights and the goddess idols displayed. He was constantly taking photos and videos on his phone. He even took goofy ,silly selfies with you.
• You were too concentrated on his childlike awe at everything going on. You had never seen him like this before and secretly you found it too too adorable.
• Then came the street food, poor boy couldn't handle too much spice but luckily you had carried some small chocolates and water with you, knowing this could be an issue. As the days went by, he had tried a lot of Indian dishes and Bengali sweets as well.
• Even the friends from your locality were smitten by this boy's charms.
• On the day of the immersion of the idol, he had joined you in dancing to the upbeat music of the band playing along with the drummers. He was feeling shy at first but you pouted "pleaseee" and how could he say no to your puppy eyes especially with you looking that beautiful in your black saree.
• Soon it was time for him to go back to Australia and you were feeling down as you didn't know when you'd meet next. Your parents packed him lots of Indian food for him and told him to go safely and call you as soon as he landed so they knew he'd be safe.
• You hugged Chan on the roof of your house, crying as you didn't want to let him go and he gently rubbed your hair whispering things like "I'll be back Y/N",don't cry please it breaks my heart".
• You hugged Chan tightly again outside the airport despite the other passengers giving you both weird looks and Channie planted a sweet kiss on your cheek which made you blush and smiled at you one last time and stepped inside the airport, waving at you.
Pdhajwisuyeja I wrote ittt finally I don't know what was I thinking ahhhh 🫣🫣.

↻ REMEDIAL MEASURES FOR THE PLANETS: THE MOON
basics of vedic astrology. ask box. masterlist.
a weak moon will create unnecessary fears, anxieties and mental health issues. it can make the native moody, be emotionally sensitive, shut off and sometimes when in extremely bad dignity, even psychotic. a malefic moon will pose struggles when it comes to the relationship with the mother, which will further lead to anxiety for the native; furthermore it leads to problems with eyes and the stomach. a weak benefic moon cannot give its results properly and also makes the native become easily influenced.
GENERAL REMEDIES
never spill milk, and ensure that you don't waste water. especially drinking water.
keep hydrated all the time, and offer water to others when you think they might be thirsty or ask you for it. (never ignore anyone who asks for water)
never leave unfinished water. always finish the water you take in your glass.
sleep at appropriate times.
drink water in a silver glass (size doesn't matter, just leave some water in it to charge it with metal ions for some time, it's good for the body too.)
wear silver, if you can. necklace, bracelet, rings, whatever.
always respect your mother, or mother figure. she is the one who gave birth to you and nourished you with her blood. if nothing at all, then at least care for her because of that. talk to your mother as often as possible, and win her heart with your actions and morals.
offer gifts of silver to your mother. this includes but is not limited to jewellery, statues, antique pieces, watch, small trinkets etc.
buy a small silver box, it does not have to be any bigger than 3 X 3 cm, but it can be as large as you'd like too, and have it be filled with rice from your mother's hands. take it, and keep it at your study, or anywhere you will most likely be seeing it most often. you can keep it in a bag, pouch etc too. not in your pocket though, and it shouldn't be opened. replace the rice monthly, if you can.
fast on mondays, and only consume fruits, fruit juices, dry fruits and milk and milk products. no salt or grains in any form should be consumed. (like even kellogs will be considered grains because it has corn in it)
be at peace with crying and being emotional, especially for men.
donate to organizations that serve single mothers, widows, women etc.
keep motifs / statues of deers. a group of 17 deers pull the chariot of the moon god, so a painting of him hung on the north wall is favourable.
for hindus / people believing in idolatry / people with any form of devotion to the planets as gods:
TO BE DONE EVERY FULL MOON:
one thing i wish to emphasize here is that vedic practices like the two following are to be done in places free from the influence of alcohol / drugs / meat / rahu dominant places. after having consumed any of these, stay away from the places where the god is kept / offered remedies to, to respect their sanctity.
employ your imagination to visualize the moon god in an anthropomorphic form (as a human). this is done to create a deeper emotional relationship with the moon which is not possible with an inanimate object.
imagine the moon god as having pale, glowing skin with ethereal eyes that seem to shine. his skin is a shining white, like pearls, holding a vara in one hand and a mace in the other, aboard a chariot of ten white horses. he has a smiling and gentle face, and is adorned beautifully with jewels of silver. he wears white silks, and sits stop the crescent moon as he moves through the sky; waxing and waning in his shine as he does so.
do this as you stand admiring the full moon. you must have a small round silver vessel (lota, image below) filled with raw milk, not boiled and fresh. add some sugar and uncooked rice to it, as well. let the moon's rays fall upon you and then, extend your arms outwards and slowly pour the milk from the lota onto the ground. imagine that the milk is being used to wash the feet of chandra, as he gracefully accepts the offering.
once done, bow to him. it is necessary to do this in the open where the light from the moon falls on you. ensure the moon is visible in the sky, clouds hiding it is not favourable. as you prepare to leave, chant this mantra at least 11 times under your breath:
'OM SOMA SOMAYA NAMAH'
you can also do mantra chanting on a proper rudraksha mala, if you have one. show a diya (pictures above) to the god, and keep it outside, as though offered to his luminous form. the diya can be both, earthen ware or a brass one.
offer sweet items made of milk by you or a family member to chandra, as well. like kheer, vermicelli kheer, makhana kheer etc, their recipes can be easily found on google. take a small bowl of it, offer it to chandra and keep it outside the entire night (cover it to make sure it doesn't get contaminated) and then eat it as prasadam the next day.
keep glass bottles / jars filled with water to the brim, without their covers, as you keep them outside to allow the moonlight to fall on them. after nearly 15-20 minutes, take them back home; you can keep it outside for more time if moonlight is available, but at least do it for 15 minutes. keep this glass jar somewhere safely inside the house, ensuring none of the water is spilt.
TO BE DONE ON MONDAYS / AUSPICIOUS OCCASIONS: (depending upon level of commitment, and financial influence)
if you wish to pray to the moon god and engage in mantra chanting, then you may establish a copper / brass statue of the god, no bigger than your finger (or the thumb if you are a busy person and may have to skip this duty at times. large statues when unkempt curse the native for dishonour of the god.)
following is a good reference statue, and it is the perfect size as well. (i'm not promoting any website btw 😭)
discipline for taking care of statues of gods. not looking after the statue of gods is extremely inauspicious. if you do not have the discipline or time to dedicate some time in the morning / early evening to worship, then don't keep the statue in your home.
i will make a post about this if anyone needs additional or personal tips regarding idol worship, or how you can adjust it better with western culture. do lmk via asks.
REMEDIES TO BE DONE OCCASIONALY / WEEKLY:
offer the moon god the flowers associated with him (lotus, white chrysanthemums, white roses, moonflower, or other white flowers which are not weeds), white coloured garments (it can be any new textile, even unsewn cloth can be offered), uncooked rice (100 g) and silver metal if within means. all of these items are to be distributed amongst brahmins (temple priests) to appease the god.
havan can be done on mondays.
rice cooked with milk can be fed to brahmins (temple priests); you can ask the local temple priests about it, or if any isckon centre is present, then the authorities present there will be able to guide you well about how you can do so. if temples are present locally, then you can simply donate the items / food in a tupperware to the temple priest. the raw materials can also both be offered (raw rice grains and milk packets.
a conch to be given in charity. it is particularly beneficial if the conch shell is engraved with silver for aesthetic purposes. (don't go around thinking this has to be done weekly 😭 do it once, or maybe once every four-five years if you have that devotion and money)

Vishnu and Lakshmi Talon Abraxas
Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi - Story of Vishnu and Lakshmi's Marriage
Vishnu is the Hindu God for preserving and protecting creation. He is the example of goodness and mercy, self-existent and the powerful power that maintains the cosmic order. Vishnu’s main form is represented as a resting coiled serpent Shesha. Vishnu is the deity of Shanti (peaceful mood), he never sleeps, and he cannot stand ego.
Lakshmi is the goddess of light, beauty, good fortune and wealth. Lakshmi means good luck. People tend to pray to Lakshmi to achieve success, but she does not reside with anyone who is lazy and only desires her wealth.
We all know that Shri Lakshmi is the consort and dynamic energy of Lord Vishnu, that is, Goddess Lakshmi married Lord Vishnu.
The story of their marriage starts with Indra – the Lord of the Devas.
Indra was a very powerful God. He was the king of the Heaven and the ruler of the other Gods. However, all this got into his head which led him to become arrogant and disrespectful towards others.
Indra had a four tusked, beautiful white elephant called Airavatha. Whenever Indra felt like going out of the kingdom, he would occasionally travel on Airavatha.
One such time when Indra was traveling on Airavatha, he met Sage Durvasa coming from the other side.
Sage Durvasa was a powerful sage. As he was immersed in meditation most of the times, he had enormous yogic powers within him However he had one drawback. Sage Durvasa got angry exceptionally fast and also cursed people often.
Sage Durvasa while traveling the world had found a fragrant garland. The flowers of the garland never faded and remained fresh always. He was carrying the garland with him when he met Indra coming on Airavatha.
Sage Durvasa felt that Indra being the King of Gods should be given the garland.
On seeing Sage Durvasa, Indra curtly greeted the Sage without saluting him. In those days, it was customary to salute the wise and learned sages, giving them due respect.
Sage Durvasa however did not get angry at this. He handed over the garland to Indra. “Take the garland Indra. It befits you well.”
Indra carelessly took the garland and placed it on Airavatha’s head. The aroma from the garland was so strong that Airavatha took the garland from his head and flung it down.
Looking at the careless manner in which Indra had treated the garland, Sage Durvasa got enraged, “Have you forgotten how to greet people and how to behave when you receive a gift. You insolent…”
Indra had the fright of his life. He suddenly remembered the long list of people whom Sage Durvasa had cursed and reduced them to nothing. He swallowed…Lord of the Gods or not, Sage Durvasa was not someone to be taken lightly.
He hastily got down from Airavatha and rushed forward fell on the sage’s feet to prevent the sage from saying anything further. Before the sage could complete his words, Indra cried, “Forgive me Sage. I behaved badly. I should have respected you and…”

。𖦹°‧ Some of my thoughts/headcannon's for the main 6 。𖦹°‧⭑.
NOTE!!!! : THESE ARE SUPER OUTDATED!!! THIS HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY DRAFTS FOR MONTHS AND I JUST WANTED TO CLEAR IT OUT. SO... there are some of these that are kinda old, I don't necessarily think are that relevant anymore or I've already talked about them on here at some point in time. SO I'M SO SORRY.
I really wanted to start a new list but I also felt guilty about this list just sitting here but I also didn't want to fully fix this list cause it would take a while so that's why I'm posting.
GETTING TO THE POINT, these are probably mid and you've heard them before so this won't be as good as other headcannon posts I've done. I promise I'll do better in the future
With that being said, let's get into it!
(I probably sounded like Barncales in this image typing allat and y'all probs looking at me like shellington)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Dashi
OMG, SHE'S MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE. AHHHHH
Girlie in STEM. I don't feel like she gets the appreciation she deserves for this. Like my girl is out here building whole ass ROBOTS and people are just like yeah whatever.
I think she would've definitely had a hippie phase. She looks like the type to collect crystals. My girl could live out of a van
ALSO, she's definitely got good fitness. She's one of the more athletic of the crew members. - My girl likes her sports what can I say
She has scrapbooks for everyone on the ship. She has personal photo albums with silly selfies (and photos she's taken when they weren't looking)
She would love Sanrio and she would have a few Sanrio-themed clips (she's my melody coded to me)
I also reckon she would've weaselled it into the other crewmates. (I feel like shellington would absolutely love it)
Indian/Australian
If she was religious - Hindu
LOVES detective movies - (Her, shellington and kwazii bond over this) (Sherlock BBC?)
Over analyses everything
Let Tweak dye her hair sometimes (she would do pink skunk hair/pink highlighting)
She used to have long hair. Everyone else on board had shorter hair and eventually, she felt bad so she cut her hair shorter. It's better this way though, it's a lot less maintenance
She's up to date on anything that's trending and probably influences the other with it. (regularly uses words like demure and tweak lowkey wants to dropkick her)
Paints her nails (sometimes the other too)
SURFING PRO - she got into it when she was really young (her love of surfing definitely sparked her love of the sea)
She IS the Lofi girl - she has GOD tier music taste
Coding god helps tweak with programming the gups/ship
When she was younger, she use to troll people online and find their IP, full name, address etc. when they pissed her off (it really refined her skills)
Makes handmade bracelets (kwasi likes to join in he does a really good job )
I forced them to make a group chat so they would just be silly.
Is a legend at national seaographic (outstanding photos)
SHE WILL DO ANYTHING to get her photos, which often puts her a risk (she and kwazii are twinning) sometimes she does outdo him on the reckless scale the ray and the whale episode
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Kwazii
THE SILLY
Ok Just one thing I wanna point out, I feel like a lot of people think of him as some goofy ahh little kid. YES, he is not "as serious" as other crew members but just a reminder he is the LEUITENT. Just because his leadership style isn't oh ho ho ho, I'm macho serious doesn't mean he doesn't know how to take care of his crew or that he is a child. GROWN MEN CAN BE SILLY TOO.
I'm sorry that's just a sore spot
He lowkey reminds me of Jack Twist (I'm so sorry)
He's the second biggest yapper (only losing to shellington) he can keep everyone engaged for hours with his stories
Has a really fast reaction time
Carbeian
My boy would have a NICE tan
I reckon he could speak Spanish
Loves learning new languages with Shelligton so he can decode his ancient stories and mysteries
A very talented artist - he's really good at arts and crafts and loves hanging out with Dashi as an excuse to do it
Despite his typically "impatient" demeanour, he can lock in and do things with intricate detail (ADHD is out to get him)
Loves map-making places they've visited in his free time. (Potential for him and Min to bond?)
Loves singing sea shanties
Would sing in the shower
pretty boy
Look I know he doesn't show it but I reckon he worries about the crew just as much if not more than Barnacles
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Shellington
THE EEPY LITTLE GUY
I love my little brainiac
He reminds me of Ford Pines. I can see him in the get-up (like imagine him in the fit OOO it would look FIRE)
The biggest info dumper. He is the biggest yapper, he loves telling everyone about everything ever.
As a child, he would try to talk to anyone about his interests. I can imagine him calling people on the phone or talking to fishy's. His family would've eventually gone insane, lol.
When he's not bonkers, he's one of the more chill crew members to be around.
His sleep schedule is AWFUL, our little insomniac needs some sleep
Crewmates would come and chill with him in his lab when they couldn't sleep (they might be feeling homesick or just rattled from the week's events) because he's usually up until the wee hours. They often just sit in silence but he's happy just be a comforting presence
FATHER - he is always looking out for the others in his own little way, he has a very caring demeanour and is sometimes the more approachable one (cause he's not AS intense (EXCEPT for when he's in the zone THEN HE's INTENSE)
He LOVES to study with the others. He's erm... PRETTY STUDIOUS and he studies with all the crewmates when they're in the mood
He studies new languages with Kwasi (especially old and forgotten ones) and they will spend HOURS unpacking mysteries
My guy needs to hit the gym - he's kind of unfit (well compared to the others anyway)
THIS GUY IS BANNED FROM THE KITCHEN ( seems like the type of guy to burn a salad)
Very tall, he is the second tallest after Barnacles
Scottish AND PROUD
He also needs glasses
He is VERY accident-prone. He's spilt quote a few chemicals and given himself a few nasty burns( probs has scars from all of them). He's one of Peso's regulars. wrap him in bubble wrap istg

OML THIS GUY'S GONNA HAVE A HEART ATTACK
He was SO anxious when he first started. Like he was in charge of taking care of the two most reckless lack of self-preservation guys ever. Every time they would go out on missions he would just be on edge (like omg are these two coming back ALIVE)
Because of this, I reckon he would get mad at those two (easily after bad scares (LIKE THE MANTEES EP). Like it would make him so upset he'd have outbursts - " CAN YOU PLEASE STOP BEING SO FUCKING RECKLESS ALL THE TIME. I CAN'T BRING YOU BACK FROM THE DEAD" - or something along those lines. (They would feel super bad and promise him that they would be more careful (lies))
Spanish (and can speak)
Grew up a really big family, so he finds a lot of comfort in his octo family
Even though he still gets homesick
He facetime his family every week
HE'S NOT JUST SOME TWINK- LIKE AGAIN JUST BECAUSE SOME GUY ISN'T MACHO MACHO DOESN'T MEAN THEY'RE A TWINKY LOSER RAHH
On that note - he's definitely had to improve his fitness to keep up with Kwasi and Barnacles
Sometimes he's cleaning up medbay and he thinks to himself "OMFG, I have the most accident-prone reckless crewmates ever. Honestly, man, I don't know if I can do this" - (when his whole crew got wiped from the snail episode, I know he kept his cool but like when he was alone that night he definitely just pulled a
"Guys, that was not very LIVE, laugh love of you"

TWEAK
MY GIRL BOSS, MY QUEEN MY IDOL
She definitely has HUGE muscles from all the lifting she does
Naturally has blonde hair (I know a lot of people hc her with brown hair but I've just always personally thought blonde). She constantly dyes it - (Part of me thinks she was bullied for her blonde hair (dumb blonde type of comments) and ever since she hates it. Her natural hair is a sore subject. It used to make her insecure especially because of her field. Although she didn't let it show, the comments about her hair being "too girlie" made her despise it)
Dashi definitely helped her improve her perception of this. Being the kickass she is but also enjoying being feminine helped her get over her insecurity. (She's a little more ok with letting her roots show)
MY QUEEN IN STEM. She graduated with honours. (LIKE MY GIRL IS BUILDING ALL OF THAT, I BEEN SO PROUD OF HER)
She loves watching Matpat (sometimes watches with Shellington)
She loves playing video games
Has God tier Minecraft worlds (she could sell her build designs)
Red stone GOD
Loves wearing bandanas and headbands
She loves her crew so much, (she's worked in hostile work environments before) she loves having free rein and the support
Although she sometimes worries about what would happen to the POD without her (Barnacles knows some of the basics but...)
Camera shy (canon?) (from the volcano one?)
MY GIRL DOESN'T GIVE A FUCK.
She has very little patience and can be very blunt
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Barnacles
OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN
Definitely of Slavic descent. Russian/Ukrainian (can speak) (like I know he's British or whatever but like.... c'mon)
Uber is tall like 6ft+
He's a big guy but super fit. Bro's muscles go insane
Gives the best bear hugs (obviously)
He needs a hug oml
Like zero sense of self-preservation
Would sacrifice himself to save the world ah complex
He reminds me of Raph Rottmnt (2018)
He gets VERY homesick
LET HIM BE REAL PLEASE
I feel like he would be a psychology student if he was going to study anything. LIKE this man CARES about you. (also I reckon he would be like super in psychology he's got some stuff to unpack himself
I know he has his fear of small spaces but also I reckon he has this super duper tiny fear of being alone. He likes being around people but being alone just makes him a little uncomfortable. (when he gets uncomfortable he'll start talking to himself) but generally, he's motivated to get back to his crew that he can preserve and hide it pretty well
I feel like this guy would have his mobile phone super enlarged (like you know when you see middle-aged women and their phones are just like SUPER zoomed in) because he can't see for shit
Needs glasses (doesn't wear them) he should
Sometimes, I reckon he has his moments when he just
Like sometimes he just experiences the horrors
Sometimes he quotes his favourite movies (but they're all super old ) that he thinks are "inspirational" (life is like a box of chocolates ahhh) and the crew is just like huh?
Is an avid enjoyer and user of the minion Facebook memes
*stupid* he can roll a pretty good blunt (stoner Barnacles reference) (he would get stoned which Kwazii)

So that's it. I hope they weren't too horrendous!
I'm working on a more refined list filled with better headcannons so I hope that will redeem this outdated list!

Chapter 60 Plot Posting
Hi again, dear void. So, about those complaints I've had in regards to the pacing... and others that I've been holding off on to see how they'd be handled... this is a long and mostly negative yapfest that rambles about the chapter itself and some general writing choices.
Bad TL of Editor's note stuff:
First Page: 会議-!! [kaigi-!!], "A meeting-!!" Last Page: 征くは修羅の道...!! [yuku ha shura no michi...!!] "Leaving for battle on Asura's path...!"
Asura are the demigods who fought against the Devas in Hindu and Buddhist mythology, by-the-by. Basically, the gist is that Chihiro and the Masumi are heading out on a road fraught with carnage and strife to face an extremely powerful foe. Oh, and Hokazono-sensei clarified that the squad are indeed called "Masumi" and not "Makizumi"- the latter is a typo.
Before I rant, I got something wrong with my interpretation of the Japanese version last week. In the last panel here:
"Controlled the war" is still not the greatest way to phrase the line, but mine was way off too since I got too hung up on the literal meaning of a particular kanji (駆ける [kakeru]). The actual meaning of what John's saying there is more along the lines that Samura's an experienced war veteran, which isn't as cool but if that's the more accurate translation then so be it. Please do not ever trust my translations to be correct and I'll do a better job of relaying that I'm not to be trusted if I try to interpret something.
What the Fuck, Man
Alright, so... I'll get this out of the way. This chapter was a huge let-down for me.
It did all the necessary things but the proportion of time spent on what and the way they played out made my concerns about the fast pacing boil over. Come on, Hokazono-sensei. Slow down just a smidge to let us maintain our bonds with the characters.
Slower chapters are necessary to make it easier for the reader to keep their suspension of disbelief and stay immersed! A great story is more than racing from points A through Z with just the bare minimum detail to give context for the next cool action scene. When people ask for the pace to slow down or for there to be more "filler", what they're really asking for are more meaningful times spent with the characters interacting with each other and getting in their heads. Letting some emotional moments linger, bonds get set up and maintained outside of tense moments and strictly necessary plot events, things like that.
After such heavy chapters back-to-back for about a month with Samura's betrayal, I think most of us need a breather. Just some time to sit with the characters to reflect on everything that happened and how they feel about it, you know? A lot of stuff happened and Chihiro especially has a lot to process. We even had a time limit of a week set up to do that- surely one day or even half of one could be given over to letting the cast regroup and take a breath on-screen before the next beat. But Hokazono-sensei seems allergic to giving us time for quiet reflection so now I'm more exhausted than the protagonist who died and came back to life a few hours ago. Yes, Chihiro rested for a few days off-screen before rolling out but we didn't get to see it. So it's not a break for us.
I've been holding back on criticism of this because I wanted to see where the story was going and what the author would do but the pacing is an outright flaw as of this chapter. It's something that I wish had been left behind in the action movie genre; that kind of pacing works for films because you're doing 90ish-minute installments every few years. But it's terrible for a weekly manga.
I will eat a whole stick of apple cinnamon incense if this is some long-con on the author's part to eventually slap Chihiro down for running on fumes and force him to sleep for a week or something. But I'm only making this bet because by now I think it's clear that we're in thriller action movie pacing for the rest of the series' run. It's just something that will have to be accepted as part of the experience going forward. For me, it's a drawback. An acceptable one since everything else is still holding my interest (for now) but a major one nonetheless.
What Did we Not Rest For?
An administrative meeting, a Shiba & Chihiro conversation, and Minimura exposition; Hakuri was so unimportant that he gave an offscreen info dump and went back to sleep, apparently. That's a hell of a lot- there was a ton of yapping and all of it was related to the plot and keeping the momentum up. That's not appropriate downtime! It's the manga equivalent of working from home early Saturday morning after pulling all-nighters at the office from Monday through Friday.
Anyway... this chapter was dense as fuck. I don't catch everything each week but damn I feel like I'm missing a lot of things to speculate on this time. I don't have the brain power to get every little thing until we start tying up some existing threads; hopefully what I caught here is good enough until more room can be made. Early Bird Kamunabi Conference
Azami! Good to see you again! Please do stuff more often to give me a heads up so I can start preparing defense statements against those traitor allegations.
First up, the Kamunabi convening at a little after 3 in the morning. Using Magatsumi's still on the table despite the sealing process being partially complete, obviously. And based on the discussion it seems like we'll probably meet Subaru, the Sushi Chef Bearer from Sushi Subaru next. Sorry girl Bearer fans. Hope Ms. Masumi in a suit can tide you over until then.
In terms of Kamunabi member insights, I'm really warming up to the mask Kamunabi guy that was impressed by Hiyuki's evaluation of Chihiro (and helped Kunishige hide after the war). He's the one who cares about the well-being of others the most out of everyone who we got to hear from. I'm thinking he's also a true believer in the mission with a more compassionate bent to his philosophy than Mutton Chops. Mutton Chops is pretty competent when he's not being a Rokuhira Hater, though.
Everyone else is pretty much on the practical discussion side to get us away from a bunch of talking heads as soon as possible. Except Ear guy- he's still as flippant as ever. I've still got my eye on you for corruption and/or negligent incompetence, buddy.
They all get failing grades for sending Chihiro back out again so soon, though. Guess we won't be dealing with the political side of the conflict just yet. Samura using Owl to monitor all of Japan for Enchanted Blade signatures is pretty spooky though!
Shiba and Chihiro
[Slaps Shiba] This bad boy can fit so much misguided grief in it.
The long conversation was a must-have and I'm glad it happened! I just wish it had gone a bit differently. Less Minimura, more just the two of them, you know? (Or solo Chihiro reflecting on things before Shiba comes in!) They've got a lot of complicated emotions going on and I really wanted to see more of Shiba's conflict over how he wants to protect Chihiro but also feels like he can't. It's been there in the background since Chapter 1 and this would have been a great time to dig into it a little more. He just watched Chihiro die in his arms and some stern faces are all he can muster?! After shaking and nearly crying for comedic effect over the stunts Chihiro and Hakuri pulled in Ch. 46? And busting into the hospital room with a yell in Ch. 11? Call it a nit-pick if you like but it just feels weirdly subdued from Shiba's end when he's normally so emotive about Chihiro's well-being. I guess this is the "heavy feelings make the comedy guy get serious" trope in effect. Boo hiss bad application, let this man be more emotional about his adopted nephew!
I guess I can at least appreciate that Shiba being subdued contrasted with Chihiro being the most outwardly emotional we've ever seen him (in the present) when he echoes the words his dad spoke to him:
Passionate, glossy-eyed Chihiro gets anything he wants forever and ever no questions asked.
CHIHIROOOO you need to rest and get some hugs, not go out and kill more people! But we're already well aware of why he's out here doing this, so... damn it, you get to go. Just don't keep accumulating wounds and stuff, OK? And don't freakin' die again!
I understand why Shiba didn't put up much of a fight when Chihiro asked for Enten back. He's driven by guilt just as much as the rest of the major characters this arc, especially over failing to protect Kunishige. Won't commit on the exact reasons right now but they're probably along the lines of "If I hadn't failed that day then Chihiro wouldn't feel the need to do any of this, so the least I can do is train him and catch him when he falls". This is good stuff honestly! I just wish we'd gotten to see a bit more of his inner thoughts.
The second biggest thing I disliked about this chapter was the implication that Chihiro finally heard at least some of the truth of things from Shiba there in the hospital room but we the audience still can't know about it yet. Which is fine for us- it's tough being teased about it for so long but I don't mind. What bothers me is that I think this is something that's important enough for us to learn about the same time Chihiro does. So we can feel the weight of whatever this monstrous cover-up was, you know? We're supposed to be on this journey with him, seeing the world from his point of view and coming to understand things as he does. Something this massive should have been dropped on the reader and the protagonist at the same time! I don't want the reveal relegated to a flashback in the middle of a fight- give it the full attention it deserves. But maybe the author's cooking again. No choice but to wait and see anyway.
Zombie Chihiro?!
HMM...
Samura spared Chihiro, which makes sense. He just wants Chihiro to stop before he goes too far down this path. But of course Chihiro's gotta have that clash of ideals and say "I'm a sinner too".
I did feel really bad for Chihiro again this chapter. Being reminded that he's just a nice 18-year-old kid pushing himself to be a killer out of grief and feeling like he can't turn back hits right in the kokoro. I hope we can see how a Bearer bonds with their sword since his contract with Enten was severed...! Samura can sense blades with contracts when they're in use so I wonder how Chihiro will adjust to that too. He's watching all of Japan for signs of enchanted blade activity so Chihiro might have to use Enten as a regular sword for a while.
Chihiro's rapid recovery could either be ascribed to Samura's precision in slicing him or some other kind of power, possibly from Tobimune.... HMM... do we really need more little details to chew on in this chapter? Sure, why not. Let's add another thing to ponder on while we wait for resolution on the all the other hanging threads too. At least this one's tied to some blade or Chihiro sorcery lore. If it's a Tobimune power, wouldn't Chihiro know about it? Unless it's a True Realm ability that hasn't been documented. More things to theorize over, yay...
It's also the last remaining shred of hope for Uruha being alive despite apparently being in autopsy. I'll admit, it's pretty damn fishy that Shiba can't get info and Chihiro refuses to believe the man is dead, so I guess I can't complain if my favourite goofy ronin dude comes back somehow. Would still prefer it if he was left definitively dead though because we have more than enough "but maybe?!" threads hanging around already.
Not to get too gruesome, but... if this is a flag that the Kamunabi are doing unethical things to Uruha's corpse, hoo boy. Oh man. I'm not ready for that kind of development despite being a horror fan.
The Sore Spot
Couldn't you have saved this for next chapter?
And then... a lotta Minimura exposition yap.
I feel like this conversation could have been pushed to the next chapter with Minimura stepping into the hospital room as the cliffhanger to end this one. It's just too much information overload and exposition when we've been begging for Chihiro to rest for months now in real time. Even if the in-universe timeline remained the same, it would have given us readers a lull while Chihiro had the heart-to-heart with Shiba and thought about everything that just went down. Heck we might have even gotten some time with Hakuri too.
The last page of Chihiro and the Masumi stepping out in suits was cool as heck but it didn't land due to how sick I am of these characters running from plot point to plot point. Now it's Chihiro and the ninjas out there doing Things and Stuff to find their answers from Samura... I'm interested in the conflict that will arise from Samura's old guards -basically his little family- fighting against him, don't get me wrong. It's got some very tasty parallels to Hakuri's story and resonates deeply with Chihiro's need to know the truth about the people he cares for so much. Again for the millionth time though, I just wish this had gone down a little bit differently.
Hakuri Where?!
There's a lot of baseless venting here and some raw, barely-edited thoughts- sorry in advance. This chapter is kind of an information overload (and I'll be honest, I got super petty over Hakuri's status being hand-waved away). I just don't have it in me to condense it all like usual. Sorry.
Oh, he's just drowning in self-hatred offscreen. Don't worry about it we gotta get going.
So, Chihiro's the MC and this is his story. Stuff with him will usually take precedence over other characters. But when you barely acknowledge Hakuri -ostensibly one of the most important characters in the cast other than Chihiro himself- in the aftermath of a series of major events that he was directly involved in like this, I gotta wonder.
I'd be happier if he wasn't mentioned or shown at all beyond still being alive because that would mean there was more to say that needed proper time to be allocated. But much like Chihiro waking up alone and the Shiba and Chihiro conversation, a prime chance for character and/or relationship quality time was skimmed over to keep the plot moving at mach five.
"Finer details not necessary."
I'm not saying this because I wanted HakuHiro hospital fluff that badly. I'm saying this as a Hakuri fan who's worried that he'll be reduced to an exposition and gag delivery tool. It's happened to some of my favourites before despite the prominent billing they got, and I hoped it wouldn't happen again here after the Rakuzaichi arc set Hakuri up to be second only to Chihiro in terms of narrative importance. But shoving him offscreen so we get updates about him indirectly -giving us no time to even see him wake up or express anything directly- feels like side-character treatment. You know, how Hinao was treated in Chapter 11 (where's she been lately?).
The best that can be hoped for is that he gives us a PoV that lets us explore the Kamunabi side more via his hospital stay somehow. Feels bad when the author clearly hates deviating from the action to do those kinds of scenes, so I wonder how much we'll actually see of Hakuri struggling and working through his issues while he's setting up plot points for other characters and the larger narrative. All while Chihiro's shoving him out of mind for one reason or another to keep focusing on the story events too.
Chihiro not checking in on Hakuri after he wakes up isn't a huge issue- that can readily be ascribed to guilt thanks to the panel of him recalling how he said he'd rely on Hakuri's help with a sad expression. He's worried in general too even if it would have been better if he'd been more proactive about expressing it. It's not like Chihiro has to wake up in a cold sweat and demand answers but shouldn't he be a little more concerned about his "equal partner"? Especially after all the emphasis put on how important they are to each other during the last arc?
Chihiro seems hesitant to broach the subject of Hakuri at all despite obviously caring a great deal.
The most generous interpretation I can make of this is that Chihiro and Hakuri are both too guilty to face each other right now. Chihiro's got a lot of other stuff going on anyway, so he can avoid thinking about the guilt of dragging Hakuri in to his mess by continuing on his mission. Meanwhile Hakuri's clearly thrashing himself something fierce. The panel of him curled up on the bed under Minimura's narration combined with him requesting the Masumi to help Chihiro in his stead is all we need to see based on what we already know- Hakuri is absolutely drowning in self-loathing right now. So he probably doesn't want to see Chihiro either even if he can get out of bed and walk himself over.
I don't want to go on a fuckhuge tangent about this but I've not got a lot of hope that these guys will interact or resolve the situation any time soon. It seems like very small potatoes compared to facing Samura, dealing with the Hishaku, and whatever's yet to come with the Kamunabi. Honestly, though? I just plain hate miscommunication drama. It's realistic here and very understandable from both sides but please, for the love of god, don't drag it out for the rest of the arc. Let them talk when Chihiro gets back or so help me God I really will think the author is pulling their relationship beats out of a generic BL tropes bin.
After Having Calmed Down...
Alright, alright. Enough of that. At least a few days passed between Chihiro waking up and rolling out again, we just didn't get to see it. So maybe they did meet up at some point. Or maybe the avoidance is to follow up on the "friendship" flags set up by Hiruhiko. Something about how they should still be relying on each other in situations like this instead of flagellating themselves in isolation. That's classic shounen, right? At any rate, we have Hiruhiko and Hakuri one-sidedly calling themselves Chihiro's friends for a reason, so we'll just have to wait and see what comes of that. I don't think that will end with Hakuri and Chihiro not being friends somehow.
Also, despite the dialogue about Hakuri not having much hope for healing his damage nerves, I'm pretty sure he will at least partially recover at some point. I just hope it's not entirely off-screen. The vast majority of character development in Kagurabachi happens through combat and the direct lead-up to the fights, which is a big strength of the series. But that also means that characters who can't fight don't get much on-screen development.
Hakuri's going to have some time to examine his circumstances in a future chapter after all the set up he got earlier in the arc. His thing will probably be learning to value himself; most likely in the sense that he's not just a tool, but a person. Hard to see how that will happen while he's stuck in recovery mode though. Will the author change tack and start having more scenes of talking heads and political drama to explore between action scenes? Seriously doubt it. So either Hakuri gets put on an expedited recovery schedule of his own or he'll be out of the story until he's useful to Chihiro('s story) as a sorcerer again. ...Not great vibes with so much of his trauma being tied to "utility=worthiness of love" but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised? I hope?
It'll be really tough for him to learn his lesson for this arc if he's burnt out after failing to save someone he swore to protect, too. A day after finally proving himself to be a genius of rare talents capable of doing so no less. God this poor kid. He finally got everything he wanted and deserved and lost it all... well he didn't lose Chihiro and Shiba, but he probably thinks he deserves to right now. Especially since Chihiro seems to have left without seeing him even once.
Which would have just made his guilt worse anyway because of what happened to him and Uruha. Hakuri summoned Chihiro back in a panic and got him killed too! And now he's totally burnt out and may be forever, so he can't even try to make up for it by training his power and "earning" redemption by becoming stronger and saving more lives. The last thing he did with his abilities was fail to save a life he promised to protect and get his friend killed. He was already being crushed under the weight of what happened to Ice Lady and now...
Huh, wouldn't that kind of be a good point to make though? That you have to forgive yourself before the guilt eats you alive. Else you'll never stop self-destructing... wonder if the author will go that route for Hakuri and/or Chihiro.
... Man. The feelings I have about Hakuri are really messy and way too closely tied to my own life experiences, so it's hard for me to be objective about him and how I want him to be handled. His journey mirrors my own in so many ways and made this series a ride or die for me based on how he was written last arc. In terms of Current Events, though? From a neutral standpoint, I think we'll get scenes of him interacting with other characters for side-plot reasons while the focus is on Chihiro's exploits. From a personal standpoint, I want in-depth explorations of him like we got in the Rakuzaichi arc. I want to see more of that, as much as possible. Even if it means deviating away from cool spreads and Chihiro doing awesome stunts more often. (In other words: the author's priorities and mine probably don't overlap right now.) So even though I know objectively that it's just not time to get back to Hakuri yet, I'm anxious that even when we do it won't be handled with grace because he can't be directly tied to the action scenes.
There are a lot of complicated thoughts about how Chihiro interacts with people in general, too... Hakuri's not the only one who does the emotional heavy lifting when it comes to depicting the relationship between them. A lot of character screen time is devoted to establishing bonds and such with Chihiro but rarely from Chihiro's point of view in return. He's completely consumed by plot things and we don't know how he feels about the people close to him directly for the most part. Hakuri is actually the lucky one who got a whole few sentences of Chihiro's inner thoughts acknowledging him as someone stronger that one time! Everything else is left to context and facial expressions -which is appropriate for a relatively reticent MC- but it would be nice get in his head to hear what he thinks about Shiba, Hakuri, and others more often.
Normally I work all that feelings stuff out in a private draft, but I'll leave it here in case you were starting to think I was anything more than a sad sack mad man, dear void. Depending on how next week goes I might not post; maybe not until after New Year's if life keeps being difficult. Be kind if you're given a choice, okay? Take care out there.
#kagurabachi#long post#At least Azami got to show up in a new panel AND say some stuff this time I guess#Characters not having the one conversation they need to fix the issue(s) between them drives me crazy thanks to how overused it is in BL#WSJ please stop overworking Hokazono-sensei he can't even keep the few names he's given us consistent any more#I ragged on this chapter a lot but I don't think it's the worst thing ever like I did on the first few reads any more.#It's just a disappointment and probably my least favourite one so far.#There's such a thing as being TOO efficient with the writing.#Do you know how bad the fuck up is if I can't get excited over seeing cool people in suits?!

about the ongoing hunger strike to ensure that the historic anti-casteism bill passes in california ^^ wanna support?
if you’re on mobile, go to: https://tinyurl.com/Signsb403

sample email below from the mobile link, not my own writing:
Subject: Please Sign SB403 (Wahab) to End Caste Discrimination
I am writing to request the governor to sign the historic bill SB403 introduced by State Senator Aisha Wahab, which would end discrimination on the basis of caste. This bill aims to clarify existing California state law and make explicit that discrimination based on caste is illegal by adding caste to ancestry and defining caste in the Civil Rights Act, Fair Employment and Housing Act, and Education Code.
Caste systems are social stratification where each position is characterized by hereditary status, endogamy, and social exclusion. Caste discrimination manifests as workplace discrimination, housing discrimination, gender-based violence, and other physical and psychological forms of violence.
Caste discrimination occurs across industries, including technology, construction, restaurants, and domestic work. In these sectors, caste discrimination has included harassment, bias, wage theft, and even trafficking. Caste is today inextricably intertwined with existing legal protections in state and federal civil rights laws such that discrimination based on one’s caste is effectively discrimination based on the intersection of other protected identities. However, because of the grave discrimination caste-oppressed Californians face, these existing protections must be made explicit.
Caste is a workers rights issues, a women's rights issues, and racial justice issue. It is also a bill that has bipartisan support. That is why we are joined by Asian Law Caucus, Stop AAPI Hate, AAPI Equity Alliance, Tech Equity, Equality Labs, Alphabet Workers Union, Ambedkar Association of North America, Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, AFL-CIO, Californians for Caste Equity, Hindus for Caste Equity, Jakara Movement, South Asian Network, Sikh Coalition, and Sikh American Legal Defense Fund. Every major legal association is in support of caste equity and the lawfulness to make caste equity explicit. This includes the American Bar Association, South Asian Bar Association, National Asian American Pacific Bar Association, and Asian Law Caucus.
That is why we urge you to make history and sign his bill without hesitation. Justice delayed is justice denied. Let's ensure California opportunity for all by ensuring that ancestry and caste discrimination is explicitly prohibited and make history across the country.
Thank You,

So in the conversations about cures, there is one thing I'd like to reiterate: It is absolutely bleeding exhausting to have abled/not chronically ill people going on about cures and how they can fix you.
It's often the first fucking thing people do after you tell them what your illness is - they immediately pile on with the unsolicited advice about just how you can fix yourself. And 99.9% of the time, I guarantee you it's absolute trash that shows no understanding whatsoever of your condition.
Prayer. Kale. Juice fasts. Untested supplements not approved by the FDA that somehow manage to cure things like sickle cell anemia. Have you found Jesus (and I specifically say Jesus because Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists - well, just about everyone else - usually will NOT try to convert you or insist you just need to pray harder to their god to be magically cured)? Maybe if you lost some weight or took up yoga? There's this guru I listen to. On and on and on.
And often, if they don't think you are desperately trying everything and anything random people throw at you, why, you must not really be sick. You don't WANT to get better because you're not trying organic lettuce fasts and crystals to cure your genetic disease that isn't even understood well by most doctors.
Most of us get angry about even one unsolicited comment or criticism. We think it's rude when someone snipes about appearance or clothes. So why is it okay to pepper disabled and chronically ill people with your half-baked cures, or think they even want them?
Imagine how you'd feel if the moment you left your house, people started picking at, say, the shape of your eyebrows. Maybe you could bleach them? Shape them? Shave them off? If only you'd let us help you! It comes from a place of love! Imagine that's all you heard all day long the moment someone saw your eyebrows. You'd get sick of it really damn quickly, and you'd probably really resent that people's first instinct was to tell you what they felt was wrong with you and that they were within their rights to tell you how to fix it.
You might feel angry or upset that they were not accepting you as you were.
That's how it goes with cures, folks.
The only time I as a chronically ill and disabled person am interested in hearing about treatments is if it's coming from someone with the same/similar condition and we're talking and comparing notes. But interesting thing, then it's usually shop talk, it's not 'BUT YOU NEED KALE AND PRAYER.' Do I talk to other people with my illness about the meds they take, what works, what doesn't? Sure. But key things: we've both agreed to participate in that discussion AND we both have the condition in question, AND nobody is picking at anyone else to do anything. Those discussions often end "well, that's great it works for you! Good luck with it!" and it's fine.
I'll be honest, if you could tell me tomorrow "Rain, we have a 100% certain cure for something you have" would I sign up? Fucking yes. But am I waiting around for that cure? No. Because most illnesses don't have cures. Some have treatments, and some don't. Some of us know this. I'm doing my best to live my life as it is, as I am, in this moment, and that's what I want people to understand. I want to be accepted as I am in this time, just as we all do.

Yoo!
I did read your ror fics and i love them a whole lot, i also didn't know if you're requests are open or not but i had an idea and i wanted to share it ^^
It's also the first time for me to ask since i was just admiring your fanfics and too shy to ask
So, imagine, fem goddess reader that belongs to the greek pantheon married shiva and was pregnant after a long time. When the reader was spending some time with ganesha (shiva's son) he pushed her and she fell from the balcony which led to her losing her child. The reader who was the goddess of love and peace lost her happiness and unlocked herself in her chambers, refusing to talk or to communicate with anyone and she even used her divine powers to stop anyone from entering her chambers and she abandoned her duties due to her grief. She avoided everyone even her siblings and father (zeus) which they tried to take her to stay with the greek gods
I think of romance with quite angst and fluff, like how would shiva and the other wives try to coax the reader out of her solitude
Hello, my dear, you sure love angst don’t you? I’m happy to write this for you, but I’m not going to make my baby Ganesha be so cruel, so I will change that part at least. I hope you like it!
-Shiva was pouting deeply, arms, all four of them, crossed across his chest like a child, pouting because Parvati, Kali, and Durga were hogging you, taking turns listening to your tummy.
-You were the only one of his wives that wasn’t from the Hindu pantheon, you were from the Greek pantheon, Zeus’ daughter and goddess of love and peace, which is one of the reasons they had all been drawn to you.
-You actually joined not because of Shiva, but his wives who became quickly enamored with you when they visited the Greek pantheon and became fast friends. They were the ones to bring you to Shiva, wanting him to marry you as well.
-While stunned at their boldness, which also led to a laughing fit, Shiva agreed, courting you properly first and he was quick to realize why his wives had fallen so quickly for you.
-Zeus gave his blessings, telling you that you always had a home in the Greek pantheon, and your big brothers, Hercules, Ares, and Hermes told you that if you needed help, they would be right over.
-There was never a reason for you to call them, you visited your family often, sometimes by yourself, other times with your husband or one of your co-wives.
-It took several years of being married and lots of trying, but you had finally gotten pregnant, something you had begged Shiva for, a child, and your co-wives were beside your decision.
-When you announced you were pregnant there was a lot of crying and hugs with everyone, including Ganesha who was beside himself with joy when you told him that he was going to be a big brother.
-This is where you were today, at the end of your second trimester and you were round and glowing, you were so radiant while pregnant. Shiva was fiercely protective of you, something that didn’t surprise Parvati, as he was the same when she was pregnant, and your co-wives were there every step of the way, helping wherever they could with morning sickness, cravings, and exercises, keeping you limber and healthy.
-You showered each of them in affection, grateful for their help with your pregnancy and they only seemed to fall more in love with you, each of the four of them basking in your love.
-You were with Ganesha, heading upstairs to a verandah, as he wanted to show you the maze he had made in the garden, which could be viewed from above and your eyes were sparkling, praising him, “Should we go down and try to make our way through it?” he beamed at your praise before he spoke, confused, “Who are you?”
-You turned to see an unknown woman who looked furious, seething with rage before she shoved you hard. You couldn’t scream, you felt like you couldn’t breathe as you were sent over the balcony.
-Ganesha scream rang through the pantheon, coupled with the sound of his trunk sounding out as he screamed out your name. Ganesha was quick to turn on the woman who then tried to run, grabbing onto her hand to keep her from running.
-She turned with a screech, slapping at the child, demanding to be set free, but he held tightly, wincing at the blows.
-Shiva ran in to see this woman, a suitor of his from his past that he refused, striking his child and instantly he charged forward, grabbing her arms with two of his hands while a third went around her neck, pulling her back, “How dare you strike my son?!”
-Parvati’s scream was heard next and Shiva shifted quickly over to the edge of the balcony, hearing the screams of Kali and Durga as well and his eyes went wide, seeing you down there, bleeding out as Ganesha was peeking over, “She shoved her! She shoved Mama Y/N over the edge when we came up here to look at the maze!!”
-Rudra and Indra arrived, taking the woman from him as Shiva leapt down, not bothering with the stairs, kneeling down beside you, you were bleeding from wounds all over, unconscious as Durga shouted for the doctors to hurry up.
-You lost your baby, you realized that when you finally woke up, almost two weeks later, all of your wounds had mostly healed, but when you saw that your tummy was flat, you knew your baby had been lost.
-Your screams of anguish could be heard all over as Shiva held you tightly, sobbing into his chest, clutching at your stomach, “My baby!!” nothing he said could help, nothing could make this better, not even Ganesha or your co-wives could help.
-Your father and brothers had been made aware of the attack the day of and had rushed over, and when Shiva told them, told everyone, that you had lost the baby, their grief and rage couldn’t be quelled.
-You hid away, locking yourself in your room, barely leaving your bed and refusing to talk to everyone, even your brothers and father, telling them to not bother you. They knew you were hurting; they knew you were in anguish, but they didn’t want you wasting away either.
-You used your own powers to keep everyone out, forgoing your duties to lament your lost child, holding the booties you had knitted with Durga’s help, as she wanted to help you make them. They would never be used now; they would always remain empty.
-Zeus had offered the idea to your husband to bring you back to the Greek pantheon, so you could heal at home, but you refused to talk to even him, which broke his heart.
-It was three months later when you finally stepped out of your bedroom, and you had immediately been plowed down by Shiva, who hugged you tightly.
-You were stiff for a moment before you sighed, relaxing into his embrace, it was so warm, so gentle.
-You were very fragile, only willing to be around your husband, co-wives, and Ganesha, until your brothers and dad came to visit, and you let Ares hug you while he sobbed loudly for more than an hour, happy to see you finally out.
-You didn’t want to bring up the memory, but you bit the bullet, “What…who was…” your voice was weak, soft, but they all heard your question.
-Kali spoke, her tone cold while speaking about this other woman, “A woman who has long wanted to be Shiva’s wife, but unlike you, who can get along with us, she wanted to keep Shiva all to herself.”
-Parvati nodded, agreeing as you held Ganesha, hugging him close, “She’s insanely jealous and cruel, she sent us threats all the time, but this was the first and only time that she did something like this.”
-You nodded softly, not answering verbally before Shiva spoke, “I know you wouldn’t want it, but I had her executed. I wasn’t going to risk anyone else.” You remained silent but your tears were quick to well in your eyes.
-Parvati took you out to the gardens, showing you the grave of your child, they had all worked together on it, even Zeus and your brothers, it was beautiful, covered with stone flowers, so it would always have flowers.
-You broke down again, crying into your husbands chest, missing your child. He had thought about offering to have another one, but he knew it was way too soon, he would wait for you to bring that up.
-With your family and loved ones by your side, you healed, you grew, but you never forgot the memories of the baby you never got the chance to meet, and you never would, but that’s okay. Some memories hurt, and some will never stop hurting, but that’s why you remember them, because they were so meaningful to you, both good and bad.
-You would never forget.

The Need to Recognize Christmas' Preferential Treatment 🎄
Christmas is seen as "stolen" from pre-Christian traditions or described as "not really Christian". Some of it is legitimate (e.g with specific local or national folk traditions), a lot of it is pseudo-history (e.g Mithras birthday, an entire Christmas tree, lights) but frankly neither actually matter. Because, in our modern world, Christmas holds a prestigious place due to Christianity.
.🔹.
Here are examples that showcase Christmas' ubiquitous, unquestioned place in many Culturally Christian nations and why we need to recognized its ubiquity:
Appropriation of Judaism, re-imagined for Christmas exists like this. @/koshercosplay has basically an infinite amount of examples to use for these posts and even gets sent asks of more examples.
There is no Jewish, Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu or other religions' holidays reserved as an official federal holiday in the US. So all non-Christian religious holidays are labeled as "accommodations" while Christmas is a given.
While my post targets the US because thats were I am from, this isn't US only. Christmas is a public holiday in a large protion of countries around the world (see map).
Hallmark Christmas movies, that are made by the dozens at this point and are a US Christmas staple, are propaganda longing for a better ""family friendly"" white washed Christian version of America that never existed.
Hallmark has added anti-semitism into it's Christmas movies.
A Hanukkah presentation was banned in a Florida school meanwhile the same school was celebrating Christmas activities and decorations. Justified by Florida's Parental Rights Bill ("Don't say gay" bill) "obligating us to follow the 5th grade standards [...] At this time, a Chanukah presentation is not in our standards." It was only reversed to to social media outcry.
Something similar also happened in a Vancouver school where Christmas decorations were allowed because they "aren't religious" while Hanukkah ones were explicitly denied.
Fasting and breaking for prayer during Ramadan is seen as an inconvenience to employers, who need "guidance" on how to "accommodate" their Muslim employees. And has led to Muslims being straight up fired. Whereas Christmas decorations, events, or music in a work setting is fine.
Universities won't hold classes on Christmas but will reverse their practice of not holding classes on Yom Kippur & Rosh Hashanah because not holding classes on those holidays is "intended to insure greater continuity in the academic schedule and minimize course disruption for students." Those two holidays are a debate at the university— Christmas is never a debate.
Not holding classes on Eid al-Adha is also controversial! This also included reversing the decision to not have classes. The decisions to not hold classes on the holiday is a debate at the school board— Christmas is never a debate.
To make it all worse in the US: Christian Nationalism is dramaticlly increasing x x x
.🔹.
No matter what pagan-ness or secular aspects can be found in Christmas it has a privileged special place in our culture— that is afforded to no other religion— specifically because it is Christian. There are a few examples where this isn't the case (e.g Japan) but those are very few and far between
In my strong opinion: if you choose to celebrate the holiday, as a Christian or non-Christian, you should recognize the special spot & privilege it has.
You shouldn't dismiss that fact and the above examples because "pagan origins" or "celebrating it in a secular way"
Maybe next time when your classmate, your child's classmates, or you sibling's friend want to put up Hanukkah decorations in school next to the Christmas ones you can speak against the school administration that bans it, or against the teacher who gets upset at the idea.
Or perhaps you can be the person at the school board meeting who points out that Christmas isn't any more special than Yom Kippur or Eid al-Adha so why are those debatable when Christmas isn't.
Recognizing these things is not raining on Christmas' parade nor does it mean you should feel guilty for celebrating, its simply a matter of expanding you view of the world and learning the obstacles other people face.
.🔹.
P.S
Recognizing its preferential spot is paramount imo but if you'd also like to touch on the history of the matter:
Here is some info on the "Christmas is stolen" argument, as well as tracing secular and religious history of the holiday.
The origins of Christmas and its traditions are marred with psudeo-history plastered all over news websites, blogs, and supposedly reputable sources. But many of this comes down to secondary sources citing each other in a loop without primary sourcing. Here is an example of how that can happen (not xmas related).

-Dyslexic, not audio proof read- | -repost-
#repost#paganism#pagan#polytheism#christmas#cultural christianity#christian#xmas#holiday season#hannukah#adding that tag since it has so many examples#and i suppose merry christmas if you're celebrating it#i say all this as a christmas lover#like a BIG christmas lover#xtianity#resources#celebration day

कस्य धर्मम् अनुसरति?
भवान् कार्यं कस्य कृते करोति?
भवत: कर्तव्यं किम्? कर्तव्यं कस्य कृते?
O, generous one Whose path of life do you follow? For whom do you do your work? What is your duty? Who is your duty for?
(Alternate shots and thought process/explanation under the cut!)
(Click for better quality – Tumblr kills it </3) Free to use/save with credit and/or a reblog!
OKAY. YAP TIME. This is a Hindu mythology/Mahabharata AU, and this art specifically is of Wolfwood as Karna. I'll explain who Karna is first + give context about his role in the Mahabharata, and then explain the symbolism and everything.
Who is Karna and what is his role in the story?
Karna was the illegitimate son of Kunti and Surya, the sun god. Due to being unmarried and young at the time, Kunti put Karna in a basket of sorts and allowed the river to carry him away where he was later found by his adoptive mother and father.
Thanks to his divine heritage, Karna was born with a kavach and kundal— a chest plate and earrings. These were immensely strong, even to the point of being unaffected by celestial weapons, and, most importantly, they were inherent to his being. I mean that very literally: the chest plate and earrings were literally parts of him. Taking them off would leave him bloodied and vulnerable (cough cough).
Eventually, through his prowess with archery, he made his way to the Kaurava palace–the Kauravas being the corrupted, power-hungry side of the conflict (oversimplification, but the Mahabharata is way too long for me to summarize here)–and became fast friends with Duryodhana, the leader of the 101 Kaurava cousins. Now, the issue with that is that his half-brothers, the Pandavas, were technically the rightful heirs to the kingdom, Hastinapura. This is where Karna's conflict begins: who does he have a responsibility towards? The family that housed and loved and fed him, despite the wrongdoings they were committing, or the family that was his birthright?
In the Mahabharata, Karna chooses the family who raised him, hurt by the fact that his mother gave him up. While this seems like a perfectly logical decision, the fact is that the Kauravas were cruel and deceitful— adharmi, or straying from the path of righteousness. In enabling and aiding them, when he had a responsibility to his blood family AND to keep the Kauravas from committing evils, Karna damned himself.
That isn't to say that he was a horrible person, however— he was notoriously humble and generous (which is the epithet that I used in the title!), incredibly dedicated to his cause and his family, and burdened with the knowledge that his birth mother gave him up. Karna is a morally grey character: put into his shoes, we, too, would struggle with choosing a side.
Leading up to Karna's death, during the war, Lord Indra, disguised as a brahmin, asked for his kavach and kundal. Karna gave them away without hesitation, leaving himself bloodied and vulnerable. This tremendous, selfless display of generosity is the main sticking point for so many people; how can a person so devoted and so generous be wholly evil?
I'm sure that idea rings true for many of you, since it's a point of contrition in Trigun, too. This leads me to the next part:
Why is Wolfwood Karna? What does this imply?
If you're familiar with Karna or you read my explanation up there, I'm sure you can see the connections now. Both Wolfwood and Karna struggle with choice— who do they have a duty towards? Karna has to choose between the two sides of his family and, symbolically, between right and wrong. Wolfwood has to choose between his obligation to Hopeland Orphanage (and, by extension, Knives as his contractor) and the obligation he brought upon himself in regards to Vash's ideals/quest. The conflict is near analogous: he's stuck between the people who raised and loved him, and the people who are working for a better future.
Another important thing to consider is Karna's generosity and how he, quite literally, gave someone the skin off his back. Wolfwood, too, is unerringly generous— he posits himself as selfish and mean, but he gave up everything for the people he cared about: his adolescence, his morals, his basic nature, his life. They are both so, so generous, and it leads to their downfalls.
Finally, the most important thing to remember is that neither Karna not Wolfwood are inherently good or bad. They're humans making very human choices. They're both selfish, yes, but they're also generous and kind and caring. In the end, Karna recognizes his mistakes and regrets what he's done, and Wolfwood, similarly, is forced to make peace with what he did and how his life has come to an end.
Artistic choices!
Wolfwood's arm bands and bracelets are gold and mimic both the Eye of Michael's insignia as well as the sun(s), which is a nod to Karna.
He's shown holding his kavach instead of wearing it to symbolize both his dedication and generosity (again, a nod to the original story), as well as to serve as his cause of death. He's forsaken his protection for what he believes in and wants to protect. In my original planning, the kavach and kundal were actually way more analogous to the EoM juice lol.
I replaced the Punisher with a crossbow because a giant cross-shaped gun would, unfortunately, be even more idiosyncratic than a crossbow (apparently ancient mainland India didn't have crossbows! Assam did; however, the Kurukshetra War happened in Haryana so boo hoo). Despite that, I tried to keep the coloring similar to the Punisher from Trigun (1998) as well as including a skull motif under the bow.
The pose is referenced from Wolfwood shooting up at the rubble during Badlands Rumble! I just modified it for the drama lol.
Wolfwood is pointing the crossbow at the sun for a purely Wolfwood reason (meaning it is NOT a reference to the Mahabharata). Despite his best efforts, he ended up backstabbing both of the twins in one way or another; you can imagine the sun as either brother, but I'd probably imagine it as Knives, since he "remade" Wolfwood, so he'd step into the role of Surya (Karna's father).

I LOVE Religious memes, and I'll tell you exactly why:
Muslim Memes
I have come across so many memes on Muslim life and they are so. Funny.
And an honourable mention to the guy who left the Mufti flaberstaged by slipping and eating Shawarma with Tahini, 3 slices of apple and a wholeass litre of water 😭😭
Muslims are careful not to make God and any religious figure a part of their humour but the jokes surrounding their lifestyle are hilarious. I laugh everytime I see that shiekh with the telescope. And the pettiness of the youtube channel, I'm crying😂😂
I really love the sense of humour and its so relatable sometimes that I just cannot–
(I could not put those relatable memes here because of this app's cursed limit, but It's about stuff like praying fast to do other stuff as a kid which reminded me of speeding through Gayatri Mantra and putting Zam Zam, which is Muslim version of Gangajal in your eyes to purify them)
There are so, so many great memes better than the ones I just posted but my stupid ass pinterest lost them at the right time so yay? 🙃
Rating this a solid 786/10
Christian Memes
Studying in a convent (and their not so subtle indocrination of the faith in us) has made me have a fair bit of acquaintance with this religion.
I see that the case is somewhat more towards making jokes on the bible lore itself. Like yeah there is content on Christian life but jokes on Jesus, apostles and New testemant are the ones I come across more frequently and I LOVE them?? They are so unabashedly hilarious😭😭
Gotta look paintable, even if it's your last dinner, am I right?
I Hollered at the cross one (yes, I studied in a Catholic school and I know exactly what the prominence of the cross is, but I love a sarcastic Jesus omg😭)
I know everytime I come across a Christian TikTok, either about Christian life or Bible lore, I'm ensured of a chuckle atleast.
Rating these a 12/3 for my man Moses
Hindu Memes
Now, the thing with us is that we are free to make jokes on either the lore and our life, because God has made sure to let us know that he has a good sense of humour *cough cough* Vishnu Ji trolling demons with Bramha ka Vardaan *cough* , but I see that we too have more memes on lore than life style.
And THESE are the ones thar speak loudest to me of them all, partially because I'm a Hindu and they hit close to home and partially because they are the best thing ever??😭😭
I have an entire collection of these and they are hilarious, the kind that make you holler if you understand the lore.
The thing is, while there's 10/10 stuff in the lore section, I really feel the lack of memes when it comes to humour on Hindu life, so I hope we can make more of that.
Rating 1008/10 because ofcourse.
All in all, I have two things to say:
1) we need more hindu life memes, let's make them.
2) SEND ME YOUR RELIGIOUS MEMES
#hindublr#desiblr#hindu memes#muslim memes#islamic memes#christian memes#religious memes#religious humour#humour
