Riko [An Angel that Enjoys Manual Labour] Part 2
Previously: Part 1
Miharu: Okay, now that we’ve gathered up some cardboard, I’m guessing next we start packing?
Riko: Bingo! Quick on the uptake as always. You three can get started, I’ll go get a rental car!
---
Aya: Huff…can we take a break?
Mahoro: Oh, good idea. I could use a drink.
Riko: No can do. Factoring in the time it’ll take to transport and bring everything in, we don’t have a second to spare.
Mahoro: Wait, are you serious right now?
Riko: Come on, just look at Miharu!
Miharu: Oh gosh! This packing tape is so easy to cut!
Riko: See?
Mahoro: Uh, sorry, I don’t think I can give you that…
Aya: …Oh, wow, she’s right. This tape IS easy to cut!
Mahoro: Wha? Aya, you traitor.
Riko: …Alright, let’s keep this up. After this, we’re loading everything up!
---
Thud
Riko: Alright! That’s everything loaded in…
Mahoro: Whew, that’s another step down.
Aya: That sure was tiring.
Miharu: I also finished sweeping up the room, Riko.
Riko: Nice! Now we can head to the new place.
Riko: Miharu, can you ride shotgun and help me navigate? Aya and Mahoro, you two can take the train!
Mahoro: We don’t know where we’re going.
Riko: Here ya go. Manager wrote the address down for me earlier.
Aya: Oh, it’s pretty far from here.
Riko: I think taking the train will be faster, so you two might get there first. Either way, see you on the battlefield!
Miharu: Heheh…see you on the battlefield, Aya, Mahoro!
Mahoro: Y-yeah…
Aya: …Yes, we’ll see you on the battlefield.
Mahoro: I cannot believe how far gone you are…
---
Vroom. Car comes to a stop.
Riko: Alrighty, here we are!
Miharu: Whew! Thanks for the exciting ride, Riko.
Riko: I wonder if the other two are here already? I’ll go unlock the door.
Mahoro: Oyyyy. Riko, Miharu!
Aya: Looks like we got here right as they did.
Riko: A-are you kidding me?!
Mahoro: What is it now…
Riko: Hey girls…so I’ve got good news and bad news…which do you wanna hear first?
Aya: Let’s…start with the bad news.
Riko: Sure. So the bad news is…
Riko: There’s no elevator. The unit is on the 3rd floor, so we’ll have to bring everything up three flights of stairs.
Aya: No way…
Mahoro: What’s the good news?
Riko: All that climbing up and down the stairs…will make for some good exercise!
Mahoro: What.
Miharu: Oh good, I was looking to burn some calories anyway!
Mahoro: Miharu… I respect the optimism. I don’t know how you do it.
Riko: Come on, don’t start whining on me now. Find your inner peace and let’s get moving!
Miharu: Yeah!
Riko: …Whoa, hold up!
Miharu: …Yeees?
Riko: Miharu, is something wrong with your ankle? It looks swollen.
Miharu: I…guess I must’ve sprained it earlier.
Riko: This is too swollen to ignore…you should sit this one out. Take a rest.
Miharu: What? But…I still want to help…
Riko: That’s very kind of you, Miharu, but we’re carrying boxes up 3 floors here. You won’t help anyone if you get yourself hurt even more. It’s a thin line between bravery and foolishness, you know?
Mahoro: Aya and I were saying, we both feel pretty out of sorts too, honestly.
Riko: Gotcha. I can’t ask you guys to push yourselves past your limit. So…
Riko: Those who can still move, follow after me. If it starts getting too difficult, just focus on my back!
Miharu: Why would you go so far, Riko?
Riko: I guess…because it’s there. [1]
Miharu: Goodness…so this is the mindset of a true professional…!
---
Manager: Thank you all so much. I can’t believe you really did it.
Miharu: It’s all thanks to Riko.
Riko: Not at all! Moving house isn’t a one-person job. It was a team effort through and through.
Manager: Really, I can’t thank you all enough.
Mahoro: How was your meeting?
Aya: Did it go well…?
Manager: Well, you see…
Miharu: Yes…?
Manager: …
Riko: …
Manager: It went extremely well!
Mahoro: Really wanted to build the suspense, huh?
Manager: I think we’ll get some good results out of it. We’ll hopefully hear back soon.
Aya: Really?
Manager: Yeah. Now then, how about we go get dinner? My treat. Both as thanks for helping with the move–though I could never thank you enough–and as an early congratulations.
Miharu: Treating 4 people at once would be rather overwhelming, wouldn’t it? Don’t go bankrupting yourself, now.
Manager: You’re too kind, Miharu…okay, how about that place over there with the red lanterns? It looks like it should be…
Riko: No no no, we gotta go big or go home! It’s a celebration, you know? Come on, I see a yakiniku place over there, let’s go!
Riko: We’ll get some beer while we’re at it. Right, Miharu?
Miharu: Heehee, that does sound nice. Very well, thanks in advance for the meal!
Fin.

Hinakura Riko [4* When powder sugar falls] Part 3
Manager: Were you always so mischievous?
Riko: Eh? I'm the same as always.
Manager: I thought you were more mature…
Riko: Haha, is that so? Do you always see me like that?
Manager: Of course, that's why I'm so surprised…
Riko: Then I'm glad.
Riko: I'm part of the senior group of AiRBLUE. I have to act mature in front of the younger girls.
Manager: I see. I've always seen you like that.
Riko: When I'm with the rest of the team, I don't think about it too much.
Riko: Mahoro and Miharu, even Aya, they always act more mature than me.
Riko: There's even the highschool girls in the agency… they're all good at many things, really.
Manager: Riko…
Riko: Ah, snow…
Manager: Really…
Riko: It ended up snowing after all.
Manager: However with such powder snow, it doesn't look like it will pile up.
Riko: You're right… it's a bit… fleeting, isn't it?
Riko: Hey, are my beret and shoulders turning white?
Manager: Yes, completely…
Riko: Completely, like the chiffon cake i had today?
Manager: Just like that.
Riko: Is it cute?
Manager: ... Eh?
Riko: Say it's cute that I look like the cake.
Manager: Yes, you do? Ehm, what does that mean…?
Riko: Really, you're hopeless outside of work.
Riko: Wait… you're really forgetful… you're also hopeless at work…
Manager: C'mon, don't bully me like that…
Riko: Ahaha. The station is this way right? We should get going.
Manager: Eh? Are we done with the walk?
Riko: We are.
Manager: I see… once again, thank you for saving me today.
Riko: You’re welcome.
Riko: Ah…
Riko: ...It smells like curry. Moreover, it smells like homemade curry…
Manager: This looks like a residential area, it must be someone making dinner.
Riko: The smell of curry is really kind…
Riko: How do I say it… don't you think it smells like a symbol of happiness?
Manager: Ah, I think I get it.
Riko: It's so ordinary you end up forgetting it, the smell of everyday life.
Manager: Homemade curry really smells like that… it's been a while since I ate that kind of curry…
Manager: Getting home to some curry on a snowy day, that's true happiness.
Riko: …
Riko: …Here… look.
Manager: Eh? What? What…
Riko: Look, I wrapped my scarf just like you.
Manager: What's got to you so suddenly? You don't have to go into the trouble of wrapping it the same way.
Riko: I just remembered but, at that time, I copied the way they wrapped their scarf too.
Riko: People forget things easily. Even the things they thought were important…
Manager: It might be so…
Riko: I'm certain I… will end up forgetting this day…
Manager: …
Manager: I don't want to forget it.
Riko: Why?
Manager: I don't want to forget things again… you know. That's why I have to learn from today.
Riko: Ahaha, that sounds right. You really forget a lot of things…
Riko: Even then, if you forget something again, I'll bring it to you.
Manager: I'll count on you.
Riko: But only if I'm free!

CUE! Translation: Yuzuha Kujo Lesson Talk [Tuesday Lesson] Story Translation
Sorry for the possibly long post under the cut, but IMO this story should be read in one sitting.
Part 1
Yuzuha: "Top 10 Driving Spots You Must Visit"… Heh, sounds fun~
Riko: Isn’t this travel pamphlet interesting? Driving’s really the best.
Yuzuha: Why do you have this?
Riko: I saw these pamphlets when I went into town, so I took one.
Yuzuha: How nice~ I'd like to go somewhere.
Riko: Then do you wanna go somewhere this weekend? I don’t have a car, but I do have my bike.
Yuzuha: Really?
Riko: Of course! I'll take you anywhere you wanna go.
Yuzuha: Yay, let’s go!
Riko: Aaalrighty, where should we go?
Haruna: (Oh, Yuzuha-chan and Riko-chan are talking about something.)
Riko: Yuzuha, anywhere in particular you wanna go?
Yuzuha: I wanna take a tour of Tokyo.
Haruna: (How rare, they’re talking about going somewhere. Sounds interesting. I’ll eavesdrop for a bit.)
Riko: If you’re talking about sightseeing, then I think you should visit a temple.
Yuzuha: I wanna go over there, to Chenso-ji. [1]
Haruna: (...Huh? What? Chenso-ji?)
Riko: Oh~ That place, huh? Good choice!
Haruna: (R-Riko-chan… You understood that just now?)
Part 2
Yuzuha: I've never been to Chenso-ji before.
Riko: I see, I see, I think it's a major thing. Surprisingly, there's a lot of people who haven't been there before.
Yuzuha: I wanna go to Chenso-ji!
Riko: Alright, let’s go!
Yuzuha: Yay!
Haruna: (...The conversation keeps going?!)
Yuzuha: Say, what should we get for lunch?
Riko: Oh~ I know of a good restaurant in that area.
Yuzuha: What is it? Is it Japanese cuisine? Western cuisine?
Riko: It’s ramen. Do you like ramen?
Yuzuha: I like ramen, what kind is it?
Riko: Erm… What was it? Well, the broth’s white and the noodles are thin.
Yuzuha: Oh, I know what you’re talking about! I like that too.
Riko: I totally forgot what it was called.
Haruna: (You guys, it’s tonkotsu ramen! What do I do? Is it too soon to tell them?)
Yuzuha: Wait, I remember now! Isn’t it called ponkotsu ramen? [2]
Haruna: (Eh!!)
Riko: Oh, yeah, that’s it.
Haruna: (Eeeeeeeeh?!?)
Part 3
Yuzuha: I’m looking forward to the ponkotsu ramen!
Riko: It’s super delicious!
Haruna: (These guys are going seriously off-track, I should really put a stop to this.)
Riko: Once we finally get to the sightseeing area, should we buy gifts for everyone?
Yuzuha: Good! Let’s buy them gifts! Are there any shops that sell pretty accessories?
Riko: There’s a lot of shops, and they sell a lot of Japanese-styled accessories.
Yuzuha: Theeen, I wanna buy wonderful stationery for everyone as a present! Do you think they’ll be pleased with that?
Riko: I’d think so.
Haruna: (Yuzuha-chan looks really happy!)
Yuzuha: Okay, let’s buy some stylish lottery sets for everyone! [3]
Haruna: (Lottery?! For all of us?! There’s definitely something wrong here!!)
Riko: I can’t wait for the weekend anymore! Should we just go now?
Haruna: (This is bad, I should go stop them.)
Yuzuha: YES!!
Riko: Go to Senso-ji, eat tonkotsu ramen, and then buy letter sets for everyone! We’re off!
Haruna: ….Huh?
Yuzuha: Let’s go!
Haruna: Oh… They were communicating properly.
----------
TL Notes
[1] She says チェーンソー which is “chainsaw” (or in this case, チェーンソー寺/chainsaw temple). I decided just to romanize it to better match with Senso-ji.
For context, Yuzuha is a kikokushijo (children of Japanese expatriates who have done their schooling abroad) who has returned from France prior to the main story, but was born in Singapore and has moved from place to place all across the world. Because of this upbringing, she’s multilingual but is prone to making some mistakes as seen in this story. Have I mentioned she’s also filthy, filthy rich
[2] ポンコツ can mean “junk” or something that’s worn out (puns!).
[3] Yuzuha was meaning to say 手紙 (letter) but actually said 毛ガニ (horsehair crab). I wanted to translate this to something similarly ridiculous, so I went with lottery (ty proofreader ri for the suggestion).
Wow guys, a CUE translation not related to Satori! All that aside, this story is hella amusing and chaotic so I had to translate it and share it. Yuzuha is also cute and I’m declaring her my daughter.
#cue!#cue! see you everyday#yuzuha kujo#riko hinakura#haruna mutsuishi#cue! translation#cue liber#mae tl#haruna screams internally: the movie

A new variation of the OP, the first few visuals changed as well The 3rd group forms, with Miharu Yomine, Aya Kamuro, Mahoro Miyaji and Riko Hinakura but not a solid entry Their radio show was nice, but it could've been a little more emotional with the whole Mii-chan plot. Aya's character seems to be the weakest so far too...

Riko [An Angel that Enjoys Manual Labour] Part 1
Manager: At this point, I think I have no choice but to get her involved…
Manager: This may seem like abuse of authority…and it probably is. I can’t expect her to ever forgive me for this…but I have no other choice.
Manager: All I can do now is entrust it all to her…
Riko: Hey, Manager! Hope I didn’t keep you waiting!
Manager: What a beautiful smile…it’s angelic. Yes, that’s it…she’s like an angel…
---
Riko: Huh?! You want me to help you move? Today?!
Manager: I’m really sorry, I realize how sudden it is.
Riko: How does something like this even happen? Did you not hire a moving company like a normal person?
Manager: Well, you know how it is! Schedules are so hard to line up. I wasn’t even sure I’d have the time for this until two days ago…
Riko: Hmhm. …Go on.
Manager: And, well, I’m sorry again, but I really need your help here…
Riko: …Go on.
Manager: I have to be completely moved out of here and into my new house before the end of today…
Riko: …Uh-huh?
Manager: …So I’m really in a pickle here.
Riko: Ugh, hold up. You knew you had to be moved out by today, and you haven’t even started packing?
Manager: It’s just, I’ve been really busy these last couple days…
Riko: Sigh…Okay. And is there a reason it HAS to be done by today?
Manager: My lease ends after this month…and it’s the 30th, so…
Riko: …You really should have thought this whole thing through more. You know, made a plan or something?
Manager: …I have nothing to say for myself.
Riko: Ugh, geez, honestly…
Manager: So I figured I’d turn to you for help. You work part-time with a moving company, after all…
Riko: Right, I think I understand the situation. Still…
Manager: I know, I know. I’m sorry. I don’t expect you to work for free. I’ll treat you to dinner, a-and…
Riko: Well, let’s talk about that later. For now, let’s figure out how we’re gonna do this. We’re gonna need more hands on deck, so I’ll call in the others for backup.
Manager: Um. Are you sure that’ll be okay?
Riko: You think there’ll be a problem?
Manager: Won’t they, you know, think really poorly of me for this?
Riko: They probably will, yeah.
Manager: Guess I deserve it…
Riko: Well, it is what it is. You’ll just have to live with it.
---
Riko: …And so, that’s where we are now.
Aya: What the heck?
Mahoro: Aya, you’re still young. Don’t end up like this, you hear me? You have to do better.
Miharu: Now now. Manager’s always doing so much for us, I’m sure we can help them out of this mess, right?
Manager: Sniffle…thank you…
Riko: Honestly I’d love to give you a piece of my mind, but it’ll have to wait. For now, you’re a friend in need, after all!
Manager: I’m so, so, so, SO grateful to you all. I’m so lucky to have you all in my life.
Mahoro: Okay, okay, we get it. Cut it out already, it’s getting kinda embarrassing…
Aya: Yeah.
Manager: Now…you see…I, um, actually have one more thing I need to tell you…
Miharu: …Yeees?
Manager: I swear I didn’t intend for this to happen, it only just came up, but um…I have to leave for work…
Miharu: You’re kidding, right?
Mahoro: I think even a saint would take a swing at you at this point. Are you for real?
Aya: This is the worst.
Riko: Wait, and at first I was the only one you called. Did you think I could do all this by myself?!
Manager: I mean, you ARE pretty incredible, so I thought maybe…well. Anyway, I promise I’ll run back as fast as I can as soon as I finish this.
Riko: Like hell I could do this solo! And really? You know we all have things we’d rather be doing than helping you move, right?!
Manager: I know, I know. I promise I’ll work my tail off for you all in return!
Miharu: Um…Manager-san, what exactly is the work you have to do now?
Manager: It’s for you guys, of course!
Manager: It was very sudden, but we managed to coordinate a little meeting with a certain radio director today. If things go well, we might be able to get you all a gig as show regulars.
Miharu: …
Mahoro: …
Aya: …
Riko: …Just get going already!!
Manager: Thank you thank you thank you! I’ll be back ASAP!!
Manager leaves.
Mahoro: This is messed up, right?
Aya: I sure think so.
Miharu: Now, now. Manager-san is working hard for our sakes, so let’s believe in them for now. Alright then, Riko, where do we start?
Riko: Right, let’s see…I guess first we’ll need to get cardboard to box everything up.
Aya: Can we really get this done before the end of the day?
Riko: Not just the end of the day, we’ll want to have everything inside the new place while there’s still daylight. We wouldn’t want to bother the neighbours.
Aya: Do we even have the time to worry about the neighbours?
Riko: We’ll have to make time. We’ve got professional standards to maintain!
Mahoro: Uh, you’re the only professional here, remember?
Riko: Come on, let’s get everything packed up. We’ll think about what’s next after we’re done that.
Riko: Alright, ready? Here we go…!

Riko [Unhatched Seiyuu] Part 2
Previously: Part 1
Vroooom.
Sound of the waves.
Riko: Alright, we’re here!
Mahoro: Wow…I had no idea about this place…
Riko: Pretty cool, isn’t it? Talk about a picturesque view! A perfect cliff with a gorgeous view of the ocean.
Riko: Sometimes, when I want to just get away from it all for a while, I come here.
Mahoro: Hmm. And what makes you want to do that?
Riko: Heh. It probably sounds weird, but I guess when I’m missing my family a lot?
Mahoro: Wait, how come? Can’t you just go home for a visit in that case?
Riko: Well…the thing is…
Mahoro: Mhm?
Riko: I have a little brother in high school, and a sister in middle school. So I’m the only one who’s left the nest, you know?
Mahoro: Right.
Riko: So it just kind of…feels bad, I guess, if I…
Riko: If I were to come home before I’ve even made anything of myself. Wouldn’t that be just…lame?
Mahoro: …
Riko: I know my family worries about me. My chosen career isn’t exactly a stable one, after all.
Mahoro: …Right.
Riko: So I don’t want to go back just yet. I don’t want to go home unless I can hold my head high and say that I worked hard and gave it my all.
Mahoro: I don’t think you need to be so stubborn about it.
Riko: I wouldn’t say I’m being stubborn. I’m just…focusing on all the work I’ve still got to do first.
Mahoro: That said, I do feel a little…envious of you, I think.
Riko: How come?
Mahoro: I don’t have anything like that.
Mahoro: I’m an only child, and my family’s fairly well-off. From childhood, I was already in the spotlight as an actress.
Riko: Our poor washed-up ex-actress.
Mahoro: Cut it out. It does get in my way sometimes, you know. Old habits die hard. I still sometimes catch myself getting complacent and just drifting through it all.
Riko: I see…
Mahoro: I’ve only made it this far thanks to everyone else being there with me. If I was on my own…I can’t know for sure, but I don’t think I could’ve stuck with it.
Riko: I don’t think that’s true. You’re…pretty strong, you know.
Mahoro: I dunno about that. I still think it is.
Riko: We’ve gotta keep at it, yeah? Along with everyone else.
Mahoro: Yeah. For sure.
Riko: Hehe…this may have gotten a little heavier than I thought it would. Too much?
Mahoro: I wouldn’t say so…then again, we’re both turning a little red here.
Riko: That’s the frightful power of the sea, I guess…come on, let’s go home! Our family, AiRBLUE, is waiting!
Mahoro: Roger that.

Riko [Unhatched Seiyuu] Part 1
Riko: (It’s so cool…)
Riko: (Just imagine going for a ride on a bike like this…)
Bike engine.
Mahoro: …Riko?
Riko: Whoa! Oh, it’s you, Mahoro.
Mahoro: Is there a reason you’re drooling out here in front of this motorcycle shop?
Riko: I wasn’t drooling.
Mahoro: You might as well have been. You want this bike that bad, huh?
Riko: Whoa, don’t tell me…
Mahoro: What?
Riko: Are you planning on buying it for me?
Mahoro: Where on earth did you get that idea?
Riko: Guess not, huh…
Mahoro: Duh. You think I’m Yuzuha or something?
Riko: This brand is top class, you know. Even if you get one secondhand, it’s still just as good as a brand-new one.
Mahoro: You already have a motorcycle, don’t you? That old thing that makes you look like you’re off to do a paper route.
Riko: Hey now, that’s my dear partner you’re insulting.
Mahoro: I wasn’t trying to be rude. But if you love it so much, shouldn’t it be enough for you?
Riko: It’s not about being enough, just…I was just thinking.
Riko: Can’t you picture it? How cool it would be to zoom down the countryside on a cool-looking bike like this?
Mahoro: Sure.
Riko: Clad in a full black bodysuit, looking out from a hilltop, taking my helmet off and shaking my hair loose in the wind…
Mahoro: Ooh.
Riko: Someone passing by would ask, “What is it you’re riding for, Miss?”
Mahoro: And your answer?
Riko: “I …want to feel the wind.” And with that, I’d get back on my faithful steed and disappear into the other side of the wind.
Vroooom.
Mahoro: …Where you’ve got more papers to drop off.
Riko: I’m not doing a paper route!
Mahoro: But that does sound nice…
Riko: You wanna go for a ride? It’d be a fun way to spend our day off.
Mahoro: I don’t have a license, though.
Riko: That’s fine, you can ride with me. I’ve got an extra helmet.
Mahoro: …I’ve seen your bike. I don’t remember it having room for two.
Riko: I can attach an extra seat to the back. It’ll be fine, I promise!
Mahoro: …Well, since you’re offering.

Aya [Look Up to the Sky] Part 2
Previously: Part 1
Mahoro: This has been, “Mahoro and Miharu”!
Miharu: Thank you, thank you!
Applause.
Kirika: Excellent work.
Aya: (They were so good.)
Kirika: Good stuff, you two. Okay, next, Kamuro-san and Hinakura-san.
Riko: Yessir!
Aya: (My heart feels like it’s going to burst out of my chest.)
Kirika: Let’s see, your team name is ”Ayariko”? Good, good.
Aya: (I’ve done everything I could.)
Riko: Let’s go get ‘em, Aya.
Aya: R-right.
Aya: (I just have to do it like we rehearsed.)
Kirika: Alright, get ready.
Aya: (Wait…how did it start again? Oh no, I can’t remember the first line! What do I do?!)
Kirika: Give it up for “Ayariko”. Begin!
Aya: (Whatever, it’s all up to fate now! Whatever happens happens!)
---
Riko: Thank you very much!
Miharu: …
Mahoro: Whoa…
Kirika: I’m amazed, truly. You sure outdid yourselves.
Aya: …Huh?
Aya: Just now, I…
Miharu: That was amazing!
Mahoro: My cheeks hurt from laughing! I’m impressed.
Kirika: Might I ask which of you wrote the script?
Riko: Uh, technically Aya, but…
Kirika: That’s impressive, Kamuro-san.
Aya: Um, I just totally blanked out…
Kirika: Rather than creating some quirky persona, you went into it with your true, genuine self. A side of you we’ve never seen before.
Aya: …Huh?
Kirika: To be honest, I know comedy and bursts of laughter are pretty much the furthest thing from you, so I was expecting you to come across stiff and forced during your skit.
Kirika: But you blew those expectations out of the water! You really set yourself free.
Aya: I…did?
Kirika: I’ve never heard of a boke who didn’t say a single word in the entire skit! I’m speechless.
Aya: What.
Riko: Aya…you…
Aya: Riko…I…
Riko: You were killing it up there!
Aya: Huh?
Riko: You totally planned that, didn't you?! I was so unprepared! But thanks to you, it went really well.
Aya: Y-you’re welcome.
Riko: But! Let’s stick to the script next time, yeah? No more surprises.
Aya: Oh…sure, of course.
Aya: (I honestly just totally froze up, so getting all this praise is…)
Aya: (I feel awful…!)

Aya [Look Up to the Sky] Part 1
Kirika: Your assignment for today will be to perform a manzai comedy routine.
Aya: Huh?
Kirika: You’ll work in pairs: Kamuro-san with Hinakura-san, and Yomine-san with Miyaji-san. Please come up with your own original skits.
Riko: May I ask why we’re doing this?
Kirika: The reason will become all too clear. You see, the goal of comedy is simple: Making people laugh.
Aya: (I’m going to be so bad at this…)
Kirika: And yet it is quite a difficult task. Comedians need to be imaginative in creating their own material, which they then also have to perform competently in front of a live audience.
Kirika: All essential skills for entertainers like yourselves.
---
Riko: You be the boke, Aya, the silly one.
Aya: Huh?
Riko: I promise I’ll be the best tsukkomi! I’ll jump in with those quips like you’d never believe.
Aya: Really?
Riko: Really. So, with that settled, see if you can come up with anything for now, yeah?
Aya: Wait, by myself? Where are you going?
Riko: Sorry! I’ve got to go for my part-time job. Maybe Manager or someone can help you out. Toodles!
Aya: Why is this happening to me…
---
Manager: You…want me…to help you think of material for a comedy routine?
Aya: If you can…
Manager: Like…what are we aiming for, exactly?
Aya: Something surreal, stylish, and original.
Manager: That’s, uh, a taller order than I was expecting.
Aya: But it should still be simple and easy to grasp. Something that’s relatable. Like…hm, maybe a hospital setting?
Manager: A hospital?
Aya: One person will be the doctor, and the other can be an assistant. What do you think?
Manager: Sounds good to me.
Aya: “Okay, let’s begin the operation.”
Manager: (Wait, are we starting already?)
Aya: “The operation we are performing is quite a complicated one. Prepare yourself.”
Manager: R-right.
Aya: “Okay, let’s begin. Kissers.”
Manager: What?
Aya: Y-you’re supposed to say, “You mean scissors?” Yeah. “You mean scissors, right?!”
Manager: Y-you mean scissors, right?!
Aya: It’s my first time, please be gentle.
Manager: Well…that’s one joke down.
Aya: …This won’t do.
Manager: Huh?
Aya: This isn’t good enough. I’ll go back to my room and give it some more thought.
Aya: Thanks for your time.
Manager: (Aya…it’s hard to picture her laughing, never mind performing a comedy skit…)
