Hikaru, Shou, and Bonito

Hikaru has adopted a kitten. Shou, as it turns out, has not met a kitten before.

“Hikaru,” Shou began when he saw Hikaru that day, “What is that in your arms?” He points to the bundle of of fur that was held in Hikaru’s arms. The furry loaf moved it’s head and peered over at Shou, big curious eyes. The bundle of fur wasn’t very big, simply in the crook of HIkaru’s arms, it was probably small enough to simply be held in someone’s hands.

Hikaru looked to Shou, then down at the fur, then back to Shou and smiled, “This?” He shifted his hold on the fur and held it closer to Shou, “This is a kitten.”

The kitten blinked at Shou, big eyes seeming curious, then let out a curious sound, “Mrow?”

“A... Kitten?” Shou echoed, tilting his head.

With a smie, Hikaru offered the kitten to Shou, “Yeah! A kitten, you know, a baby cat?” Shou nods, then Hikaru holds the kitten closer to Shou again, “Here, you can hold him.”

With the aid of Hikaru, Shou was now holding the kitten gazing at it. Hikaru couldn’t really tell what he was thinking, though he seemed to be interested in the kitten. The kitten squirmed a bit, until he finally calmed down, with the aid of some gentle petting. Soon he began to purr.

“It’s vibrating.”

Hikaru laughed, “Yeah, he’s purring! It means he’s happy.”

Shou nods, “And where did he come from?”

The kitten meowed again as Hikaru responded, “The cat of a friend of mine recently had kittens.” He points at the one in Shou’s arms, “So I ended up adopting that one.”

Looking up from the kitten, Shou asks, “Does he have a name?”

“Bonito,” Hikaru grinned, “It means “cute” in Spanish.”

“Well,” Shou nodded, “He is cute.”

Maybe tomorrow I can work on my Ultraman fic ideas:

Sho/Hikaru - Hikaru finds out he's dating/engaged to a prince.

Zero/Katsumi - Katsumi while learning design in Milan meets Zero in his human form (Shin Moroboshi) and they go on a date.

Zero/Katsumi - The Ultimate Zero Force and some of the New Generation Heoroes (Riku, Isami, and Asahi) realize that Zero treats Katsumi a little different from everyone else. Seven becomes exasperated while Taro wants his cousin to stop being a hypocrite.
