High Roads ( I presume I re-bought my comic, as my still beloved ex was a huge Leinil Francis Yu fan-girl.) Good pulp adventure.

Sleazy scandals of the silver screen. What else for comics guy who is a cinephile, history Buff and as one of my dearest friends said " your taste is refined sleaze" <3

Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser omnibus.

Leiber is very different than Robert E Howard but one of my favorites. This collects Mike Mignola, Howard Chaykin, Walter Simonson comics ( have read all the Mignola stories but not the old Chaykin Simonson ones)

love that fabian and riz were originally designed to be the quintessential preppy jock and outcast nerd stereotypes, but with each new season riz is more of a cool guy while fabian becomes increasingly lamer <3

the world is so beautiful..... one time after it rained i scooped a snail off the road and deposited it on a plant. a woman came by and saw me staring at the plants intently and asked "oh, did you save a snail?" and i went "yes! :D" and then we both just stood there silently watching a snail climb up a leaf for a good few minutes. <3

'varric's vibe when you pick the 'I'm worried' option after he asks you how you feel about having solas in your head is so fucking funny. the very careful 'so, uh, just... out of casual interest why -- why aren't you putting wards on yourself and your mind to keep him out, and incidentally exactly how might you do it if you did. no reason why I'm asking just. curious. I have no stance on this' probing of it all (that should be the giveaway in itself, really, in hindsight I think real varric would be a lot more freaked out on rook's behalf about this even if he might still have reached the conclusion that the connection to solas was worth the risk, he's got kirkwall blood magic trauma to fill a telephone catalogue). that and the '>:) then I see you've made a choice (so this is basically a little bit on you now, you got fairly outsmarted etc., I don't have to feel as guilty thank you for having youthful hubris that will be your undoing so I can feel less bad about my role in it). honestly if anything I'm doubling down on my previous 'mind!varric is directly controlled by solas the majority of the time and rook's mind is mostly a collaborateur' post. this conversation is transparently solas gathering intel and giving you the 101 on leadership while you're building a small focused rebel force.

in solas' defense... this whole situation is very very funny in an extremely dark kind of way he is nothing if not on brand. the stuff he says about himself in this conversation is like. he's both reading himself for filth AND he can't read all of a sudden he can't uh......... he has plenty of self-insight (a single flower with blackened petals) and it helps him exactly not at all in breaking his patterns lmao

also it makes the relationship between solas and rook so. so much. what an insane intimacy in grieving for someone so much you both conspire to raise him from the dead together, just for a little while, because neither of you can bear to let go. what a violation in being the only knowing party in that. solas can hear rook following through on relaying his apology to 'varric' no matter what else they think of him. and he still does what he does to them in the end. he's feeding them affection (some of it even real eventually, I think, he clearly respects rook as a pure agent of chaos on some level and has some incredulous amused fondness for them no matter how you end up in your relationship with him) and confidence with one hand, and readying a knife in the other the whole time. solas my love my friend my genuine darling I think I will have to strangle you unfortunately

⚜️Feysand x Road to El Dorado⚜️

I personally thought Feysand makes so much sense for Road to El Dorado with the way they play their enemies like a fiddle.

Trying to think of childhood film duos that fit Rowan and Aelin….they are schemers too but more so than Tulio and Miguel. Hell Aelin even tricks her own friends 😭😆

had to do a long drive back to school today so for no particular reason here are the bad kids gas station roadtrip snacks:

adaine is a sour candy girl i know it in my soul(also fun fact eating sour candy can help override ur brain during a panic attack). sour patch watermelon candies + arizona iced tea is just like. her truth

kristen is canonically a yerba mate enjoyer and it shows. lemon yerba mate + dill sunflower seeds she eats shell and all

riz is the most prolific gas station food enjoyer so i feel like he will do something new eveytime, strategically trying to figure out what is the best drink + candy + chip combo, but his go to is blue bug juice + m&m’s + bugles

fig is too easy. the fuego takis + classic monster. sometimes peach rings

gorgug is a jacks links jerky boy. classic jerky + trail mix + water. he also does the dad thing of sticking his hand back and stealing snacks from everyone else as driver tax

fabian is the opposite of riz and just has. so little experience with gas station food and is frankly appalled by it. he will not eat the snacks but he will get blue gatorade

Fiat 127 Rustica, 1979. A version of the the second series 127 meant for light off-road work, it used the stronger body shell from the Brazilian version of the 127 (147) with raised suspension. It was only offered with semi-matte military beige paint and black steel rims without hubcaps. The Rusticas were assembled in Lamborghini's Sant'Agata Bolognese plant. Poor sales saw it withdrawn from the market in 1981 without a replacement until the 1983 arrival of the Panda 4x4.
