Gwyn is not a child because she is 28. Just like Feyre is not a child because she’s 22/23.

It’s not about the number.

Age is an inconsistency in SJM’s world building. In Crescent City, it’s said that the fae don’t reach full growth until their 80s. In ACOTAR, Alis says something about how her nephews will not reach their peak until a similar age.

Mor was sold to the Autumn Court at 17, which suggests that the high fae of Prythian reach sexual maturity at a similar age to humans. We don’t have much info, if any, about the age at which Illyrians reach maturity.

What we know is that the bat boys all seemed to reach that around the same time due to the line where they talk about how they all used to bring their hookups back to the Illyrian camp cabin at the same time. So we can assume the full Illyrians and part Illyrians reach sexual maturity at a similar age to each other.

All this to say, I’m not concerned about the number of years Gwyn has lived.

But recall when Rhys confided to Cassian about his fears regarding the age gap between him and Feyre, who was turning 21 at the time? (ACOFAS)

Cassian remarked that Rhys’s mom was 18 when she married Rhys’s dad.

To which Rhys remarked that she was miserable.

That seems to suggest these huge age gaps aren’t typically a recipe for romantic bliss. At least not in the case of Rhys’s parents.

And sure, Rhys is not the spokesperson for all of Prythian.

But I think where I get stuck with Gwyn is that she is written in a way that makes her sound significantly younger than 28. Could this be a writing issue? Definitely.

I’m not looking at her age as a reason for why she shouldn’t be with Azriel. I don’t know if I can accurately rely on that when there is such an inconsistency with age in SJM’s world building.

Note that I’ve tagged Gwyn because I haven’t said a single negative thing about either Gwyn or the GA ship. In fact, I’m actually trying to dismiss the discussion around age. So don’t come for me.

👁️no high lords will help you after all they are yet trying to stay alive themselves.

👁️lover or love interest forget about them it’s over done . She will hurt them and make you watch if you even think of having a lover that isn’t her .

👁️if you can give her children she will trick you into bed with her after you may regret it but it will be too late after all she swells with your child now there is no escape …

👁️if not and you are a women like her she has powerful magic she can make pregnant it may take a few sacrifices but it will happen you can’t leave them either .

👁️although she may not love the child she will love controlling you .

👁️one of the most horrible yanderes to have she is a sadistic witch and cruel to the bone .

Ok, so I love how in acotar Nesta is so stubborn that fae glamours don’t work on her. Like, my girl is such a stone cold bitch that even her subconscious told the fae magic to fuck off. But it got me thinking, what if this doesn’t just apply to her with glamours, what if she sees the whole world like this. Like, we see especially in acosf how well she understands how the social game works and how to cut people the deepest. But what if that’s because something in Nesta is so strong willed that she sees through all the bullshit niceties of the world. What if Nesta lives in a world that is several shades darker then the one her sisters live in.

if you’ve read Heros of Olympus, it’s like how Nico saw Tartarus as it truly was rather then how Percy and Annabeth saw it. Like, you know that part where Percy sees Tartarus without the mist and can’t believe Nico didn’t go crazy? I think Nesta might be like that.
