The woman moved swiftly across the room, her footsteps silent as she pressed the balls of her feet against the wooden flooring, keeping her heels always off the ground. She moved with grace and flawless calculation towards the wine cabinet on the wall, where she browsed all the types of wines, from simple to spiced, and selected a unique bottle from the selection. A simple hickory-toned bottle with a faded label, sealed perfectly with aged wax.

Tullius watched the ritual from behind his book, analyzing her every feature to determine whether his suspicions of her being a spy had any grounds.

Her skin glimmered with diamonds of sweat, and her hands, while delicate and precise, still trembled slightly as she removed the cork from the bottle, and poured the blood-like liquid into a goblet.

Tullius couldn't help but drift away and imagine how similar the woman looked to Ulfric's wife, so quiet, so peaceful despite being neck deep between two factions of a civil war. The more he thought of it, the more he could see her standing there, so refined, so beautiful.

"She would make quite the governess." He thought.

Tullius tensed, clearing his throat as he saw her returning to his side. Forcibly removing every thought of his enemy's wife out of his mind. After all, it would be unbecoming of him to even have such treacherous thoughts on his mind.

Without uttering so much as a word, he gently took the goblet from her hands and lifted it to his lips. Nodding in appreciation as he tasted the wine. A smooth, aged colovian wine, something he might have enjoyed back in the summer afternoons of Skingrad had he not been drafted all those years ago.

At least, her apparent knowledge of wines pinned her as an imperial, or a very knowledgeable courtesan. Even then, she was practically mute, a horrible flaw for someone who was more than likely trying to pry information out of him.

Perhaps he was merely being paranoid, and what he pinned as suspicious behavior was simply the usual nervousness of someone in his presence.

The courtesan bowed and removed herself from his side, her footwork still light, but rushed.

She sat herself on a small chaise lounge chair on the opposite side of his desk, keeping the desk and plenty of books between the two. Her face moving to look at anything in the room but the general.

Tullius smirked a little, hiding his expression behind a sip of his cup.

Both of them remained quiet for the rest of their companionship, the sounds of a quill brushing against parchment and the crackling of fire the only sound between them.

Tullius rested his elbows against the wood of his desk, letting out a small groan at the thought of drafting another letter or report. Putting his quill and parchment aside, he lifted his gaze, resting his eyes from the blank pages with the sight of the Altmeri architecture around him.

Soon enough his sight fell over the small figure of his evening companion. Resting peacefully on the same couch she'd been on for the night, quietly fixing the golden adornments on her hair.

His eyes scanned over her figure, plump and soft, the body of a woman who had never spent a day towing at a field or training under a Cyrodiil sun. Perhaps for that night, only that night, he could allow himself to indulge in his mortal desires. Perhaps, for one minute, he could indulge his deepest thoughts, and deal with the silence in his heart left behind by the Lady of Windhelm. Perhaps that girl could be a replacement for her.

"Meretrix." Tullius called gently.

The woman lifted her head from where it rested, and rose from her lounging, slowly moving to attend the general. She stood by his side, her skin still glimmering with sweat as she looked over his tired expression, and placed a soothing hand on the back of his neck, gently playing with the collar of his shirt.

The general chuckled, warmth creeping up his cheeks. He kissed her wrist, his steel eyes looking up at her own. His lips moved down to kiss her hand, slowly moving down each finger, until it stopped over a scar where a wedding ring once sat.

a hand on your waist, the goddess of the hunt fixed your posture and assisted in pulling the string close to your nose.

Lightning bugs glowed around in the area as the illumination of the moon brightened your surroundings. Lush vegetation and vibrantly flourishing fauna had never looked more alive.

"You're getting distracted."

Artemis' voice was right in your ear, her warm breath fanning your labyrinth that sent shivers down your body.

You blinked, coming back to your thoughts and honing in on the feeling of her cool fingers traveling up from the middle of your spine to the back of your neck.

Apollo's body radiated warmth like no other, but his older twin sister was cool like night's wind.

"It's...It's pretty here." You murmured and focused your gaze on the stags some yards away. "I'm not used to this."

The goddess hummed and removed her hands from your waist, so it was resting in the small of your back.

She pressed on it, pushing your back out to strengthen your posture. "I'm sure." Was her only reply by your throat.

Inhaling a deep breath and swallowing, you let your (e/c) eyes adjust to the gloaming darkness to focus on your target.

A hypers*xual woman with daddy issues and an as*xual goddess with unpredictable actions, what could possibly happen.

The deity hummed and removed her hands from your body so she could stand next to you. She towered over you regardless of your height and stared afar.

"Now, control your breathing. Your posture is perfect; it's time for you to relax and show me how good of a mentor I am." She stated and crossed her arms under her breast.

You swallowed strenuously and almost rolled your eyes. 'B*tch, I'm horny! How the f*ck am I supposed to relax!?'

Pulling tighter on her golden crescent-shaped bow, you did as the goddess said. You could hear your heart beating in your ears, feel the sweat dripping down the back of your neck, and hear the low whistling of the wind.

Calming, it was calming. Your lungs filled with the freshest air you've ever consumed, and then-

It whizzed along as if in slow motion, and your gaze followed the golden trail of light it left behind in the darkness. The arrow sliced through the air as if cutting through and struck the deer so ferociously that it flew a few meters away.

"Woah..." You whispered with your chest rising and falling rapidly from the adrenaline that began coursing through your veins.

Artemis hummed proudly and reached down to pet your hair. Her fingers tangled through your locks, but for some reason, she was able to run them through like smooth butter.

You shifted to face the divine goddess and witnessed the proud yet cocky smile gracing her succulent lips.

"Very good. You handle such a sacred weapon very well." Leaning down, her face stopped right in front of yours, her nose brushing against your own and the divine radiance of her power warmed you on that chilly night. "I wonder what else you can handle well."

'You.' The thought made you giggle internally.

"Well-" You whispered and smiled - more like grinned coily - and held up her bow between the minuscule space between your faces. "-Why don't we test it out."

Her dark hickory eyes seemed to glimmer from your words as she reached for her bow, grazing her cool fingers along your own while at it.

"We have all the time in the world, little mortal. For now, let's not let your kill go to waste."

You shivered.

The goddess stood to her full height once again before grasping your hand and levitating off of the ground.

Feeling weightless, you smiled joyfully and giggled as she flew the two of you over to the deer. When you arrived, you observed how it was the cleanest shot you've ever seen.

How could you not be proud of yourself?

"I will take care of him, return his soul back to the earth." She started and kneeled down before pulling an encrusted dagger from a snag around her thigh.

Nodding, you turned your attention to the moon that appeared so eerily big and close. It was a sight that fed something within you, and it was only intensified by how vibrantly bright the stars were.

Because of all the light pollution back in your timeline, a sight like this was rare to come by. "It's beautiful out." You murmured.

"It is." The divinity replied, the sound of her cutting through the animal following soon after.

You pulled the shawl tighter around your body and released a breath of air into the night. The feeling of exhaustion had long left you, and now you felt so alive you could enslave the world.

Was it wrong that you wanted to rule all?

Maybe a little, and you couldn't help but grin at the thought. You were having too much fun that you were forgetting this was supposed to be entertainment for Otto merely.

Damn that b*stard. Just wait till you get enough power; you'll do whatever you want.

Turning leisurely, you found your lips falling and a gasp escaping as the sight of an arrow coming towards you awakened every nerve in your body.

You flinched, hands flying in front of your face expecting to be hit, but instead, a force of wind almost knocked you off your feet.

Nearly falling and colliding with the ground, you opened your eyes to see Apollo standing in front of you.

A golden arrow resting in his hand with Artemis standing a few meters ahead as her bow still remained in the air.

"Get out of the way, brother." She ordered and readied another arrow. "She doesn't belong in this world, and I'm going to make it right."

Your eyes widened while your lips fell agape. This b*tch really just tried to kill you.

Apollo splintered the arrow in half and raised his arms outwards. His own golden bow and quiver of silver arrows were strapped to his toned back as if he was ready for his own hunt.

"Come, sister, and I'll snap your f*cking neck in half." He mused in such a cold and taunting manner that it spurred shivers to run up and down your spine.

The god then turned to you and smiled so brilliantly, but something about it was more threatening than anything.

Something that made your stomach practically drop to your knees.

"Ah, run, my darling. Because once I get my hands on you... I'll show you what it means to anger a god." He sang, and all hairs on your body stood on end. "Remember how it feels to have legs, darling; you're not going to have them again after this."

You weren't going to lie; it kind of turned you on but now wasn't the time to let the wh*re instincts out.

Artemis shot forth another arrow, and the god swiftly snatched onto to spin on the balls of his feet and thrust it forward with his brute strength.

The goddess barely avoided it, almost tripping over her own feet before readying another shot.

At this point, the adrenaline returned, and you knew you couldn't just stand there anymore.

So you ran.

You forced your legs to move into the forest and speed through thick vegetation. It wasn't going to be a good outcome for whoever managed to catch you.

Death or no legs?

Yea, no. You're rushing out of there like you're Usain Bolt.

The roaring bluster of twins fighting sent tremors through the ground that you could feel against your feet.

Along with that, the air became tense, divine radiance filling the land with heavy strain. The temperature fought between freezing tundra and blazing Sahara.

'Otto!' You screamed within your mind and jumped over a fallen log. 'Otto now isn't the time to watch me suffer! I'm going TO F*CKING DIE! YOU PIECE OF SH*T!'

Both fear and rage flushed through your veins, rushing through like a rapid stream untouched by man.

Artemis let out a war cry, and the boom that was prompted by her attack sent quakes your way. You tripped over your own feet and tumbled forward, your forehead smacking into stone that left you confounded.

"F*ck!" You hissed and squeezed your eyes shut to control it.

The headache that began to form felt as if it was a pinball ricocheting against the arms of the machine. It ached like h*ll, and for a moment, you forgot about why you were running.

Until a hand grasped your ankle and dragged you down.

Your eyes flung open as you were flipped onto your back. Apollo had never looked more threatening, with blood staining his golden ringlets and light arrows sticking through his left forearm and back.

"Let go!" You spat and attempted to pull away, but it only prompted the god to reach for your throat and shove your head into the dirt.

Nearly biting your tongue, you grasped his wrist and even dug the arrows deeper into his arm, but he made no reaction to the pain.

Not even as it bled profusely and dripped onto your nightgown, he grinned at the sight and cocked his head to the side.

"Darling, you always look so pretty with my hand around your throat." He exclaimed and inhaled a deep breath as if smelling your fear.

You snarled and attempted to kick your leg against him, but he merely rested a shin on one thigh while his other hand grasped your thigh to lift it.

He pressed it back until your knee met the dirt ground.

"Let's see how hard I can squeeze until your hanging on for dear life."

And squeeze did he do.

You gasped, eyes flying wide open as the pressure on your larynx intensified. His smooth palms pressed against the bone and his fingertips felt like they were blocking blood vessels.

Barely able to struggle, you could only pathetically attempt to wiggle free, but it was obviously to no avail.

The pain flooded your sense like overwhelming stimulation, and you didn't know if you wanted it to stop or not.

But this wasn't going to be any rough s*x; this was going to be pain and torture.

You weren't done playing around! You were done consuming the power of these gods!

No one but you could decide what was going to happen with your life. God or not, he didn't deserve to have control over you at all.

"Let me- Ugh! Let me go n-n-ah!"

Your choking words were cut off with a brisk gasp.

Apollo ripped apart your top that shielded your breast, revealing them for him to admire in the moonlight.

Your stomach tingled, and an ache in your breast became distracting and confusing. Black inkblots were painting across your vision, your hearing zoning in and out.

"You need to learn a lesson, my little mortal." Lightly he kissed your right nipple and inhaled your womanly scent of fear and desire. "I said you were to stay at the temple, yes?"

The best you could do was pathetically attempt to nod your head. This only prompted him to squeeze harder and nearly send you to unconsciousness, but he released just in time.

You gasped, eyes widening with your lungs greedily devouring air you were deprived of. Your esophagus burned, and the bones of your larynx felt bruised.

Heat boiled under your skin from the situation, and the cool dirt below did nothing to soothe the burning.

"You disobeyed me like a bad girl, and bad girls get punished, little mortal~."

Before you could reply, his mouth found its way to the skin of your throat, where he sucked harshly.

"A-Ah~!"

The sensation was like slight tingles of pain that were also pleasant. You wanted to squeeze your legs closed, but his grasp on your left limb had you immobilized.

Instead, your hands flew to his silken hair stained in crimson to tug in an attempt to pull away. Although his actions were pleasurable, the situation was not in your best interest.

Once he felt that your throat was decorated enough in dark-colored contusions, only then did he pull away.

But he did not release you, no. He migrated down your heated body and stopped at the visible skin of your thigh that he had pinned.

The giant god grinned coily, reaching for your face so he could grip your cheeks and force you to look at him in the moonlight.

Like before, he continued his onslaught on your chest, creating round markings ranging from all sorts of opaque colors.

The stinging pain hurt more than it should, and this time, there was no bliss to follow through. His name left your lips in brash grunts, seeming more as fuel than something that would turn him off.

His rough dominating sucking and kissing gradually grew to the valley of your breast. Those large hands of his left your face and leg only to grasp your bare breast.

The two of you looked down with jerking movements, witnessing blood blossoming from the wound and drenching your bare skin.

Apollo ripped his body off the arrow, grunting visibly and squinting one eye from his divine weapon. Your mixed-bloods had now coated your chest like a top, and it was all the more sickening for the god.

One of his hands thrust forward, golden light expelling from his palm with minuscule stars floating over to the wound.

However, his attempt to heal you was futile. It did nothing but speed up the deterioration of your life. His rotating sun-filled eyes dripped what appeared like boiling lava-like tears as he attempted to push his godly powers onto the wound.

"No, NO! Darling, please!" He croaked with his other hand and reached for your face, smearing it with the remnants of crimson liquid.

With the last bit of remaining strength, you shifted your misty-hued optics to gaze upon his face.

"L-Look's like you're learning your own lesson now." You grinned, showcasing bloodied teeth. "I'm not yours to control and never will...I...be..."

And like that, your speech slurred, and the life shining within your eyes dulled to a gloaming blankness.

The deity had let out such a crude and earth-shattering cry that the earth surrounding your body cracked and began to levitate in the air.

A phenomenon happened, and the sun began to evade the sky.

The sun overtook the moon as the world began to feel the rage of Apollo, the god of the rising sun.

The Singing Bone - A Spell for Justice

Years afterwards a shepherd was driving his herd across the bridge, and saw lying in the sand beneath, a snow-white little bone. He thought that it would make a good mouth-piece, so he clambered down, picked it up, and cut out of it a mouth-piece for his horn. But when he blew through it for the first time, to his great astonishment, the bone began of its own accord to sing:

“Ah, friend, thou blowest upon my bone! Long have I lain beside the water; My brother slew me for the boar, And took for his wife the King’s young daughter.”

To begin, acquire a wooden flute. I recommend something like a children's toy whistle, but use whatever suits your purposes best. Mastery of the instrument is not required. All that is needed is a sound. Clean the instrument well and paint it white. Then, somewhere on the body of the flute, careful paint or draw a set of scales to represent justice, and whatever other symbols you deem appropriate. Set it aside to allow the paint to dry.

Next, acquire a chicken bone. A leg or part of a wing is suggested, but a vertebra would also be appropriate and in keeping with the details of the story. Clean the bone well to remove any scraps of soft tissue, dry it well, then bury it in a small dish of sand. It doesn't need to be deep, it just needs to be covered.

Note: Since the ritual portion of this working dips a toe into the realm of spirit work, I do suggest casting a protective circle in your work area before performing the next part of the spell, purely as a precaution. Use whatever methods you normally would to sanctify and protect your workspace.

On the day that you plan to perform your spell, retrieve the dish of sand and the prepared flute. Set up your burning bowl in a fire-safe area outdoors, with a charcoal disk in the bottom and a handful of herbs on top. Set your incense to smolder, and allow the smoke to rise. When you're ready, blow a steady note on the wooden flute. Call the name of the wronged or murdered party, saying:

Blow on the flute once more. If you know the name or names of the guilty parties, call them aloud, saying:

The eyes of justice are upon you. In the name of [all that is good and right],** I reveal you to the eyes of the world. Stand and answer for what you have done!"

Blow a long note on the flute and shake the dish of sand so that the buried bone rises to the top. The calling and unburying of the bone may be repeated as many times as you feel a need, or multiple times for multiple victims, or multiple times for multiple perpetrators. Take as long as you need.

When you have finished, extinguish the incense and make sure everything is tidied up. Follow whatever steps you usually take to open your protective circle and end the ritual. Mold Growth The curing environment—warm temperatures with high humidity—is ideal for mold growth. Mold growth is com-mon, but the mold is harmless and should not cause illness. Professional curers maintain a lower humidity (<60% relative humidity) in their ham houses to control mold growth, but the amateur curer may not have the technology to control humidity. Some home curers will lightly coat the ham in cooking oil before the summer sweat to help retard mold growth, whereas others do not consider a ham ready until it has a healthy growth of mold on the surface. A scrub brush and a mild vinegar and warm water solution can be used to remove the mold. Small black dots or spots have been reported on the surface after the mold has been removed. These spots are caused by a species of mold that is difficult to remove from the surface; chances are the spots are harmless. Figure 15. The country ham finds its roots in China and European dry-cured hams such as China’s Jinhua and Yunnan hams, Italy’s Prosciutto, Spain’s Serrano and Iberian hams, and Germany’s Black For- est ham. Country hams are drastically different from their more common cousin, the wet-cured ham, also known as “city ham.” The flavor of a country ham is complex, and the texture is unlike that of other hams. Historically, pigs were harvested during the cold winter months of December through early February. The hams were removed and allowed to cool overnight before salt, sugar, and other spices were rubbed into the ham to begin the process of making a country ham. Today those traditions have not died, but they have changed. The family tradition of butchering hogs has been replaced by buying hams from a local meat processor. And the environments of winter, spring, and summer have been recreated through mechani- cal refrigeration and heaters. Currently, more than 5 percent of hams are turned into country hams within the ham belt states of Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. The majority of country hams are cured in family owned and operated facilities. Country hams can be found in grocery stores and spe- cialty shops throughout Southeast and on the internet. None- theless, there are some do-it-yourselfers who want to start their own family traditions. Country hams are not difficult to make. The process requires a few easy-to-find ingredients and a secure storage area. Country hams are made in three steps: curing, salt equalization, and aging. These steps are outlined in the manual.

Bennett breaks into a sprint the moment Razor's figure appears on the horizon. He doesn't stop, all but barreling into the wolfkin, sending them both tumbling to the dirt floor with an ' oof ' upon impact. His arms are locked around Razor's waist, taking him in— his warmth, the comforting scent, a familiar presence that Bennett is coming to realize he's missed after being apart for so long. The pressure in his body that he failed to comprehend before dissipates immediately as they're reunited. " I've missed you. " He murmurs as one hand relinquishes its hold, fingers move to twine in a sea of silver.

                   THE WIND CARRIES SCENT FAR, razor could practically smell home a full day before they crossed into wolvendom. it was bittersweet, being so close and still feeling so far. normally after the summer trek to dragonspine for negotiations and pack bonding wasn't so bad, but this time was different. this time, razor left a part of himself back in mondstadt. he told lisa he would check in as soon as he got back, told master diluc he'd come by to treat his sword, and he will, of course he will. but now the only thing the wolfkin wants to do is find the piece he left here.

                 it finds him, turns out, razor not even making it across the bridge into mondstadt before bennett is racing toward him. feet pick up just as bennett's do, feeling to solid weight of the other hit his chest - enough force to knock them both back. it's a quick gust of air that leaves his lungs but honestly razor could have cared less. all that mattered was the way his senses suddenly flooded with windwheels and down feathers. hickory and apples. something so unique the only word razor can use to describe it is bennett. the way he smelled, the way he felt under his hands...razor knows it by heart and yet can never, never get enough. he wants this for always, to hold and to be held...

                  rolling around in the dirt outside of monstadt might be odd for some, but not for razor. his only concern was to re-familiarize himself with the bond he left here. he's only been gone a week, two at most, and yet it feels like years. face nuzzles against the other's neck, nipping and nudging with his nose against the soft skin at bennett's pulse point. just the sound of his heartbeat is enough to lull razor to sleep.

                  he sits up, pulling back only to remove one of his gloves, scarred hand trailing his mate's face, his neck, brushing hair from his eyes before wolfkin leans forward to bump foreheads, kiss each cheek and eyelid. once razor was satisfied that his mate wasn't hurt or injured in his absence, all he wants to do is sit here. hold bennett for as long as he was allowed. the blond is practically in his lap, razor's legs crossed underneath him and they'll probably go numb soon but he couldn't find himself concerned with it.

                  finally satisfied with the state of bennett, razor's arms settled around bennett's middle, lowering his head to nestle in the crook of the other's neck, "i missed you," he repeats the sentiment, "stay with me.” // @arcanawinds
