WHOS READY FOR SOME CENTENNIALS!!!!!! unasked for explanations below once again
This set of designs is different from Ryan's because i basically just traced my old sketches and redid them digitally to give them colour so there are less design details (sorry lmao)
ANYWAY continuing with the "time-accurate" clothing choices, I'm hoping it's more obvious with loey and neas this time. You have no idea how RELIEVED i felt when i saw neas' third overhaul was in the 2000s. I love details but I have been working with suits for like 30 designs by now.
Because I did these back in october I don't really have proper ref images but if you googled men's fashion for each of their respective eras you should get pretty good results and if you don't im sorry💀
Not sure if it's obvious but they're supposed to "age" with every overhaul, yea im aware my ability to draw people older than 40 is nonexistent-
On that note, I have a more in-depth hc for how the "human" of an engine appears which would explain how loey and neas can "age" but the short version is the "human" is a combination of the maturity of an engine's mentality and the engine's actual age
I do not know enough of the Skarloey Railway lore to back my headcanons but I hc that during their early days, the SR was more strict with appearances, hence the suit jackets and whatnot (kinda like how RWS SR engines all have the same livery)
Towards the SR's later days, the change of directorship and the increasing diversity of their rolling stock led to much more relaxed regulations on appearances. The jackets that the overhaul 2 designs are holding would look similar to the jacket that overhaul 1 loey is wearing, which would bear the engine's nametag and the signature red shoulder pad designating an engine's gauge
Also the nametag and specifically the number badge were details added later when I finished my handel and petah designs, yes I love it a lot that's why i mentioend it.
Overhaul 1 neas is particularly different from overhaul 1 loey because for one they're two different decades, but also the time between his first and second overhaul was when neas had to run the line on his own (not to mention the world war woah...)
I haven't really figured out specific height hcs yet but neas and loey are around the same height as each other but grow a tad with each overhaul
ok das it for this one i think, thank yall for the wonderful reception of ryan im so happy yall loved him😭🥹also thanks for making it to the end next time it's probably gonna be handel and petah<3

Behind her eyes.WNBA!reader x Alexia putellas.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Alexia and R's relationship is tested after what happened at one of r's basketball games
--------------------------------------------------
Your girlfriend’s eyes were the reason why you fell in love with her. They were the first thing that caught your attention when it came to her and they are the thing you looked for when you were lost, upset or angry.
You first noticed her hazel eyes when she sat court side at one of your games in barcelona. You had just joined the catalonian team after the end of the wnba season. It was your first time playing in the Spanish league. In fact, it was your first time playing overseas and you didn't acclimate very well. You didn't know anybody, you didn't speak the language, you were just lonely and homesick.
It all changed on one home game, alexia came with a bunch of her teammates to support your new team, she sat courtside and watched attentivly as your team played valencia. You weren't feeling like yourself in your new home yet so you hadn't put on your usual performance. It all changed when you got fouled and fell directly in front of her. Angry, you wanted to pick a fight with the player that fouled you but you got distracted by a perfect face or more less a pair of dreamy eyes. They took you back for a moment and you kept thinking about them for a couple plays. You even glanced at her direction when you weren't moving the ball. She lit a fire inside of you, one that you have been trying to ignite ever since you left the US. You had to do better, you had to impress this person and leave an impression on her.
After the break, in the 3rd quarter, you put your game face on and started to direct play on the floor. You shot 3s, layups, blocked shots, assisted your teammates and over all controlled play. By the end of the game, the crowd was loud , and your team was leading the game by 20 points, which is the most this team has ever led with . You were happy, and you were yourself again.
You were celebrating with your teammates and coach when the social media manager came to you and asked you to come take a picture with alexia and her teammates. You got nervous all of a sudden but you tried to keep your cool. You introduced yourself, took the photo and tried as much as you could to memorize her features.
“ Hey, your shooting ability is impressive.” she says, her spanish accent apparent in her english.
“ What we do here is easy compared to controlling a ball with your feet, and running on the giant field you guys play in for 90 minutes.” you reply.
“ I guess every sport has its ups and downs.” she added.
“ You want to take some shots?” you invited her while bouncing the ball on the floor. She hesitantly accepted and so you helped her by correcting her form allowing her to take shots.
“ Holy shit you might be coming for my job.” you complimented her.
“ I don't think so. I am pretty attached to football, or as you people say soccer.” she says sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
“ don't count me in with those people calling it soccer and not football is pretty stupid.” you take another shot while holding eye contact with alexia. “ Besides, I am pretty damn good at my job.”
You two continue talking about the differences of your sports all the way down to the locker room where alexia’s teammates were waiting for her.
“ Come on, capi, we're gonna be late. “ says one of her teammates.
“ I came to one of your games, now it's your turn to come to mine.”
“ will do capi.” you joked before giving her a kiss goodbye.
Throughout the next couple of months you went to every game of hers you could and she did the same to you. You always stayed late talking, laughing, sometimes even practicing each other's sports after every game.
Talking after the game turned into dinners, then sex, and eventually you two started dating. You met her friends and family, and slept regularly at her house when you were in barcelona.
Your life seemed perfect, you were in your A game, you had a gorgeous girlfriend and you two loved the hell out of each other, you had friends in this strange new country who you would go out to brunch with on the weekend. You frankly were the happiest person in the world. Well, that only lasted for about 8 months.
It all happened at once in one second your perfect life came crashing down. During the playoffs, It was a regular 1v1 battle, you tried to turn around and make a shot but your knee thought otherwise and caused you to fall to the floor and scream out loud. The pain was inimaginable. Quickly, tears were streaming down your face, your teammates formed a huddle around you to shield you from the cameras, and the medic came rushing towards you.
“ hey do you hear me?” she asked. It was hard for you to focus. But all of a sudden it became clear, you didn't feel the pain anymore, and you stopped crying.
“ Non-contact injury, my knee, it's an ACL tear right?” you looked at the medic with a little hope in your eyes.
“ most likely. I am so sorry.” she said as she and her assistant tried to pull you up and help you hop to the locker room.
On the way there you look to your left and see a scared alexia. You looked at her eyes where you usually find solace and hope only to find sympathy and fear. She gave a reassuring smile but you looked at the ground immediately.
Once in the locker room, the medics began explaining the situation.
“ I know everything that’s gonna happen, I have been through this before. Its hard and it fucking sucks. I just want to go home now. I will be back tomorrow for scans.”
The medical team complies with your request and helps you go to the locker room to collect your things. Once you find yourself alone you smash one of your crutches on the ground multiple times, you bend the steel. You weren't proud of what alexia saw when she came in to check on you but you had to get the anger out of you. You would find out later that the crutch didn't get all of it.
Throughout the whole car ride flashes of the pain of rehab and hard work you put on only 3 years ago flooded your memory. You only got out of your head when you noticed the route that the car you were in was taking.
“ alexia i want to go home.” you say in a surprisingly harsh tone. She didn't look at you and continued driving.
“ alexia.” you repeat again.
“ You are not gonna scare me into pulling away from you.” she replied calmly.
“ Alexia, I just want to go home.” you say again not giving up your harsh tone.
“ we are going home amor. Home where I can be with you and take care of you.” .
“ I didn't ask you to. Just take me to my fucking house.”
What you said seemed to anger her so she pulled over. “ Let's get this out of the way now. First you are not going to drive me away, I love and I won't let you go. Second , you don't talk to me like that, not with that town and ot with those words. Third, call me Alexia again and you won't like what happens.” she shares eye contact with you again before putting her seat belt back on and driving home.
You didn't say a word through the rest of the car ride, you just dove into the sea of painful memories your brain prepared for you. When alexia notices your sudden change of demeanor, she puts her hand on your thigh only for you to flinch. You flinching at her touch meant that you were thinking about your past relationship and that's when alexia put two and two together.
You didn't realize that you two were home until Alexia opened your door and handed you your crutches.
“ alexia just take me to my house.”
“ We will talk about it upstairs, come one.”
You felt sick to your stomach, all you wanted to do was throw yourself in her arms and let her stroke your hair and scratch your back until you fell asleep.
Outside in the world and to the media your personality was larger than the world. You were loud, fun , playful, and funny. When you came you closed the door behind you and your girlfriend you craved to just lay on her and let her take care of you. However you were too proud to ever say anything out of fear she might not like the other side of the coin.
“Bébé talk to me please.”
You tried to keep your mouth shut. You tried so hard to swallow your words. But you could you couldn't keep it in anymore.
“ I am just so tired of pretending.” you whisper.
“ louder mi amor.”
“ This person I am about to become is grumpy, sad, angry and in pain. I am not gonna be the fun cocky person anymore. I have been through this before. It never fails to break me so please just take me home . I want to go home, and cry about my season at home that I lost. I want to cry about the fact that I will go through this miserable journey again. I want to cry about the fact that all I want is to be held by my girlfriend but I can't ask for that because I am afraid you will leave me. i just want to fucking cry.” by now you were hysterically crying and yelling. Alexia was holding you tight , her hands were becoming white.
“ I love you so much.” she just kept repeating that phrase over and over until you calmed down.
“ I will never leave you. I would love to hold you and take care of you and I don't pity you. You just had a fantastic season in a strange country and I am so proud of that and we will battle this together. “ she continued to rub your arms and whisper how much she loved you no matter what your mood was. You couldn't resist the temptation to drop your guard and be who you are anymore.
“ promise you will never leave me ale.” you plead.
“ I promise you that I will never leave. I am so sorry I didn't make you sure enough in my love for you. I promise you to do better.”
“ Can you help me take a bath and go to bed then. tomorrow is gonna be tough i need to sleep.
“ alright amor but first i want to hold you some more and stroke your hair.”
Somehow , She knew that that's what you ached for the most.
You turn your head and look into her eyes again to find love and admiration instead of the sympathy and fear that was there before so you relaxed and let her take care of you.
You knew since the moment you saw her that her eyes were your saving grace.

Hey could i request a fic?
Maybe one where teenreader who plays for barça or arsenal gets a nose piercing behind alexia or leahs back ?
Tumblr media
just putting this in the same universe and reader as stuck tiny silver flash II barça femeni x teen!r
"there is one other place i wanna go!" you piped up as jana had her car keys in hand, both her and bruna's arms laden with shopping bags as you motioned for them to follow you.
"pollito is this going to take long? i think my arms are going to fall off!" bruna groaned as you rolled your eyes. "nobody told you to buy half the clothes in here bru, sounds like a you problem." you quipped making jana snicker and her best friend kick at her with a scowl.
"what are we doing here? are you getting a hair cut?" jana questioned with a frown as you stopped outside a local salon. "oo you should get bangs! or dye it pink, or blue, or purple, or red, or-" bruna started to ramble before jana's free hand covered her mouth with a sigh.
"not exactly." you smiled innocently as both of their eyes narrowed. "why do i get the feeling we're being dragged into one of her little trouble making schemes." bruna mumbled to jana once her mouth was freed again, jana nodding tiredly in agreement as they both continued in after you.
"wait here, i won't be long." you promised as a worker guided you off and out of their sights. "should we have let her go off with a stranger? is that bad babysitting? was that responsible?" bruna questioned after a minute had passed, jana just shrugging as the two of them took a seat just outside the store on a bench in the middle of the shopping complex.
though when you finally resurfaced it confirmed her question that yes, this was in fact bad babysitting.
"dios mio what is that in your face pequeña!" you rolled your eyes as jana dropped her bags and hurried over to grab your cheeks, turning your head left and right with wide eyes.
"its just a nose stud compañero!" you brushed off both her and bruna's fussing. "how did you do this? did you forge someones signature?" jana questioned again in disbelief. "fraud is a crime pollito, you could go to prison!" bruna added on with a gasp as again your eyes rolled.
"relájese! está bien chica's. you have to be eighteen for a tattoo, sixteen for a piercing." you corrected with a grin, having been planning this for awhile now.
"they are going to kill you so i hope it was worth it pollito." bruna sighed and she didn't have to drop a name for you to know exactly who she was talking about. "i will hide it till it heals, then if they make me take it out it will not close, ningún problema." you shrugged carelessly.
"but you cannot take it out for a few weeks while it heals, sí? what about games? training? you also live with capi!" jana asked, crossing her arms and staring down at you with narrowed eyes.
"engaño." you smiled patting to your shopping bag full of makeup, patting them both on the cheek and striding off toward the exit.
"dios mio jana i was right. she has dragged us into one of her little schemes! estamos tan muertos." bruna moaned throwing her head back and dragging her hands down her face.
"hey! listen to me amiga." brunas eyes widened as jana balled her top in her fists, holding her tightly and yanking her forward so they were nose to nose, the fear obvious in both their eyes.
"the story you posted today? delete it. the ticket for the parking? burn it. the new clothes you bought? hide them. nobody can ever, ever, ever know we brought her here bruna. vale?" jana warned sternly as bruna nodded frantically and her best friend let her go as they hurried after you.
"oye, compañero i think this might be worse than when we got her and vicky drunk at bowling and they threw up everywhere." "imbécil! bruna what part of 'never speak of it again' do you not understand??"
~
you'd managed to keep your secret for a whole whopping two days by the time training rolled around, which was a god given miracle considering you lived full time with your hawk eyed captain.
careful makeup blending and a flesh colored band aid you'd cut into a tiny circle had served well to hide your new addition, making sure to keep alexia at arms length so she couldn't get close enough to really look at you.
though she was so busy preparing for the weekends match and all the media that came with the el clásico it wasn't hard to slip under her radar for once.
but there was one person you worried might be able to see through your attempted deception, and of course she was the first person you ran into that morning at training, considering she had a nose piercing of her own.
trusting you enough to find your way to the change rooms once inside alexia had left you to your own devices as she hurried off for a quick meeting with all the captains, as was tradition the last session before a game.
"bon dia pollito!" you tried not to tense as aitana appeared beside you, having parked a few cars down in the lot from alexia. "hola tana." you greeted her with a smile, quick to snap your head back forward, grateful she was on your left side and the hidden stud on your right.
the two of you made small talk about your days off as you wandered through the training complex toward the change rooms, the girl of course taking every opportunity to tease you were shorter than her, something that was not very common for the midfielder in a team full of leggy spaniards and scandi's.
but as you turned to push her away and she tried to grab you in a headlock, you gave yourself up by accident.
"espere." the smile dropped from her face and you deflated as she grabbed your jaw, tilting your head back and immediately spotting the backing of the stud in your nostril with a small gasp of surprise.
"tana!" you whined trying to pull away as her grip tightened and she shook her head before letting you go. "estúpida, is this new?" aitana questioned, sending you a warning glare not to be dishonest.
"maybe." you mumbled, giving her a smile as charming as you could muster as she hummed and went to walk off. "don't tell anyone, por favor tana por favor! i will do anything." you zipped around to block her path and begged, clasping your hands together.
"anything?" "anything, promesa! just do not tell, especially not alexia." you pleaded desperately. "vale pollito, i will keep your little secret." aitana started as you breathed out in relief.
"but, for a price." aitana smiled and the twinkle in her eyes had your guard up a little but you knew she had you against the ropes. “and what’s that?” you asked albeit apprehensively.
“no more messing with my things, no more letting mapi mess with my things, no more waking me up on the bus or the plane or the train with the ‘oh tana im bored entertain me!’, no more kicking the ball at my head or the back of my seat, no more squirting water at me and no more giving me the finger with the ‘oh look tana a bird!’. vale?” the older girl raised an eyebrow sternly as you nodded rapidly.
“vale, vale, vale. gracias!” you sighed in relief, squishing her in a hug as she chuckled and patted your back before you let her go, the two of you resuming your walk to the change rooms.
entering the change rooms you flashed a few smiles around as you sat at your cubby, pulling off your trainers and stashing them away as you rifled through your training bag trying to find the medical tape you knew was in there, your ankle a little tight today.
"bon dia pequeña mentirosa." a body dropped next to you, mapi grinning and kissing your cheek as you gagged jokingly and pushed her away, her locker next to yours.
"stop that. i will do it!" mapi rolled her eyes at your attempts to tape up your ankle, pulling your leg up onto her lap as you handed the tape. "something troubling you pollito?" mariona dropped down on your other side with a concerned frown.
"no, just a little tight today." you shook your head as now both older girls gave you a look, mapi strapping up your ankle. "está bien. if it feels off at all i will go see the physios, happy?" you looked between them as they nodded, mario messing up your hair and heading off for the pitch.
eyes roaming around the now half empty change rooms you caught aitana's eye who was talking with keira, and judging from the very slight narrow of the english womans eyes as they studied your face for a mere second or so longer than normal, you knew right away what they were discussing.
you shook your head at the midfielders, aitana sending you an apologetic smile and hurrying off before you could say anything, dragging keira along with her as you prayed to the high heavens both girls kept their mouths shut.
"what?" mapi chuckled seeing the strange look on your face, finishing up your ankle and glancing over her shoulder to try and see what you were looking at. "nothing, gracias maps." you smiled, pulling your leg back down.
"ingrid!" you called out to her girlfriend who was passing by, the norweigan raising an eyebrow as you held up a hair brush and smiled charmingly. "you could not have asked alexia at home?" ingrid chuckled as mapi kissed her cheek briefly and headed off to the pitch.
"alexia cannot even do her own hair, takes her about half an hour to slick it up into a ponytail." you rolled your eyes as ingrid started to brush through your hair, a comfortable silence falling between both of you as the rest of the team slowly filtered out.
"the baby can't do her own hair? awww." lucy teased, playfully kicking at your ankles with a grin as you tried to grab at her but winced as ingrid tugged on your hair in warning, still halfway through braiding it.
"oni!" you called out to your friend who turned around. "your girlfriend needs her leash and collar, she's acting out again." you sniped, lucy squaring up to you before ona rolled her eyes and pulled her away, chatsizing her quietly as lucy sent you a menacing glare as you gav her a fake scared face.
"you need to stop hanging around with maría so much liten, she is a bad influence." ingrid tapped your shoulders as she finished your hair. "she's your girlfriend!" you laughed as you stood, tucked into her side as the taller girls arm draped across you.
"i know, and every day she gives me reason to question why." ingrid sighed as you bumped into her. "no way, you two are so in love its disgusting." you gagged as ingrid playfully reached round to pinch your cheek.
"you will be in love one day liten, and i will be sure to remind your future partner that you think love is disgusting!" ingrid teased, letting go of you as you both smiled and gave a good morning to the social media admin filming the training arrivals.
"how do you know i'm not in love now? or that i will need a future partner?" you gave her a cheeky smile as her eyes widened. "are you-" you'd raced off before she could ask her question, the girl yelling after you that this conversation wasn't over.
"hola!" you launched yourself and near took jana down to the ground, her hands grabbing your thighs and hoisting you up into a proper piggyback with a grunt.
"i was thinking things were too quiet pollito, i was hoping you were sick and we might get a day off from babysitting." jana sighed dramatically as you scoffed. "babysitting! you need babysitting not me." you accused making her chuckle.
"i have to say pollito, you did a good job. if i did not know that you had the stud, i would not notice." bruna marvelled as jana promptly dropped you and grabbed the pair of you by the shirt, dragging you away from the rest of the group.
"what part of we do not speak of it did you not understand? nobody can know we took her there or that we knew about the stud!" jana warned bruna sternly who huffed and tried to pray her hands off her top.
"and you will not tell a soul we knew about it amiga, vale?" jana turned to you now, letting go of bruna and raising an eyebrow when you didn't speak, a roll of your eyes and a nod following.
"perfecta. remember compañero's, when in doubt; deny, deny, deny."
~
now your makeup and band aid combo may have done the trick for training, nobody batting so much as an eyelid of suspicion toward you.
but what you hadn't accounted for was your teammates being...themselves.
case in point; the water fight which broke out after training was finished.
you didn't think much of it at first, ducking out of the way of mapi's attack and launching your own on cata, laughing as patri and pina used you as a human shield, spraying lucy and mario over your shoulder as you copped the brunt of their own counter attack.
"vale! that is enough for today." alexia yelled out over the squabbles, though there was a hint of a smile on her face and you hadn't missed her spray her own bottle at a few of the younger girls when they weren't looking.
distracted by the feeling of your now soaking wet training top clinging uncomfortably to your body you snatched a towel off mapi, drying your face and arms and not giving it a second though.
that was when there was a tiny silver flash as your stud caught the sun and all hell broke loose.
"what is that?!" "a piercing?!" "who did that to you?!" "what did you put in your face?!" "you put a hole in your skin?!" "who said you could do that pollito?!"
your eyes widened at the questions fired at you one after the other, shrinking into yourself and starting to back away as the older girls advanced, mouths moving at rapid pace.
"don't you dare!" paños grabbed the back of your collar, snagging you as you tried to bolt, a hiss of pain leaving your mouth as alexia grabbed your ear next, dragging you inside and all sorts of angry spanish leaving her mouth.
"sit!" alexia pushed you to sit down at your cubby, flanked by ingrid, paños, irene and frido all glaring down at you. "when?" irene asked sternly as you huffed. "when what." you tried, the stony glares causing your stomach to flip.
"acting cute won't get out out of this one älska. the truth! now." frido warned sternly as you sighed, catching a few of the younger girls watching on curiously, but they all scattered as alexia met them with a hard stare.
"i got it on monday." you answered, looking down at the ground and pulling one knee to your chest, picking at your laces. "where?" alexia asked sharply. "a hair salon." you shrugged still refusing to look up but feeling their eyes burn into you.
"why?" ingrid questioned next. "looks cool and i can." you mumbled with a roll of your eyes. "don't you roll your eyes, drop the attitude." alexia warned as you huffed and mocked her quietly under your breath, whining as her hand smacked the back of your head.
"that hurt!" you rubbed it with a scowl as she now rolled her own eyes. "cannot have hurt more than putting a needle through your face pequeña." irene added on with a scoff as you fell silent again.
"i think it looks badass pollito." pina piped up from a few seats down, paling at the looks it earned her and hurrying over to hide behind patri.
"sí i agree, makes her look tough. which is hard with this cute little baby face!" mapi cooed as she appeared now, pinching your cheeks and admiring the small stud with a nod of approval that had you grinning.
"maría! stay out of it." alexia barked as the girl rolled her eyes, one of the few who wasn't scared (most times) of your fierce captain. "why? she is sixteen now. i had ear piercings at five!" mapi brushed off the issue ignoring her girlfriends eyes baring into her.
"ear sí, not face!" alexia scoffed crossing her arms across her chest. "its not like i got a forehead piercing, so dramatic." you muttered, shrinking and shuffling across a little closer to mapi at the glares which met it
"would you like to say that a little louder?" ingrid sent you a challenging look as her girlfriend wrapped an arm around you. "leave the nena be, it is one little stud. relajarse!" mapi waved them off again.
"who took you to get it nena? you do not drive." paños asked firmly as you couldn't help but let your eyes flicker briefly to jana and bruna who were frantically shaking their heads and waving their arms about. "deny, deny, deny!" jana mouthed at you.
but all it took was that brief millisecond for irene's head to snap around, catching both younger girls in the act as they froze. "you went shopping with the idiotas on monday!" alexia realised as now her head snapped around.
"we didn't know she was gonna do it we took our eyes off her for like a minute and she came back with it! promesa!" bruna blurted out as jana winced and smacked her hand against her forehead.
"you are the worst secret keeper ever!" jana hissed, both of them sprinting off as paños and irene chased after them. "you are taking it out älska." frido stated bluntly as you frowned. "no way!" you protested with a shake of your head.
"yes way. we can do this the easy way or the hard way älska, your choice." the swede warned as alexia and ingrid hummed their agreement and seeing them start to advice mapi's arm left you and she slid slowly away.
"mapi!" you gasped as she darted away. "traitor and a coward!" you yelled after her as she made a heart with her hands and hid behind lucy who rolled her eyes and pushed her away.
"easy or hard nena, choose." alexia warned firmly as you shook your head. "its not coming out, i paid for this!" you decided firmly, standing and holding your head high, hearing a few of the other girls whistle and shake their heads at your words.
"you get her legs, i get her arms, ale takes it out." frido instructed, all three girls nodding as you attempted a getaway, trying to climb up and over the small retaining wall of your cubby but being promptly dragged back down and restrained.
"did you even wash your hands! this is unsanitary alexia i could get an infection!" you yelled trying to squirm away but with no luck as alexia held your head still with one hand and you winced as with one little twist she'd plucked the stud from your nose.
"when we get home i'm searching your room for any other studs and they are being flushed down the toilet. get your bag!" alexia warned as you kicked away ingrid and frido with a scowl. "you're both on my list." you warned seriously, cata and salma oooohing at your words.
"you don't scare us liten." ingrid laughed unbothered, frido mirroring her expression with a smirk. "remember when mario lost an eyebrow? she was on my list." you spoke calmly, packing your belongings up.
"or when pina's cubby had that awful ant infestion? or patris car tyres kept magically deflating? also on my list." you slung your bag over your shoulder, smiling at the somewhat apprehensive looks now present on the tall scandis face.
"adios, traitors." you patted their shoulders as you passed, following after alexia. "pollito are we still on for-" mapi fell silent as your head whipped toward her. "you are also on the list, maría." you warned calmly, narrowing your eyes.
"i helped you create that list!" mapi gasped in disbelief. "sí, and now the student has become the master." you pointed at her menacingly, alexia growing impatient and grabbing you by the straps of your bag hauling you out of the change room.
"vamos pequeña, stop threatening everyone." alexia chuckled dragging you out with her to the carpark as you waved goodbye to a few of the staff, the older girl amused at how quickly your demeanor changed.
"they were not threats, they were promises." you huffed with a deep frown, kicking at a rock. "are you going to be moody and pouty all afternoon over a tiny little stud? estúpida." alexia cooed as you glared at her, sliding into the now unlocked cupra and tossing your bag in the back.
"do you want to be on the list ale?" you warned, shrinking at the fierce glare which it rewarded you with. "discúlpame?" the blonde asked scarily calm with a raised eyebrow. "nothing, lo siento." you mumbled sinking into her seat as she smirked and started up the car.
"buena nena, thats what i thought you said."

pay for your crimes
Tumblr media
part 4! Ona and R get Alexia and Mapi back for trying to play Cupid. Or they try to.

You and Ona spent the morning... busy. You spent the afternoon busy too, but in a different, less sexy way: figuring out how to trick two of the most observant people on the team was a challenge. The two of you decided that Ona would call Alexia and tell her that you didn't reciprocate her feelings. You would continue your radio silence to Mapi, as if nothing had happened. At practice tomorrow, you and Ona wouldn't speak to each other, and you figured Mapi would corner you and try to get you to talk, if she didn't call you immedietly after hearing from Alexia. You'd tell her nothing happened, and even though she'd presumably know the truth from Alexia, she wouldn't be able to admit it.
The biggest problem here was Ona; she was a horrible liar. Growing up, she didn't hide much from her parents, so she didn't get practice then like most teenagers do. You really didn't know how her call to Alexia was going to go.
Predictably, Alexia answered on the first ring, her voice ringing out into the room over the speaker, clearly expecting to be told how good she was at matchmaking.
"Hola Capi" Ona let her voice quiver slightly. You turned away from her, worried eye contact would cause both of you to break into giggles.
"Ona! How did it go?" Alexia's words were said with so much excitement, you almost felt bad. Almost.
"Not great."
"What?" The confusion in Alexia's tone had you biting your lip to keep from laughing.
"We talked. You were wrong, Ale. She doesn't have feelings for me. And I didn't tell her I had any for her. I think it's better we just keep some space until we can be friends again." Ona's voice was filled with emotion, and you knew it was the stress of lying, but it sounded like she was genuinely upset.
"No, Ona that can't be right. I'm... i'm sure she has feelings for you."
"What because of the way she looks at me? I don't think that is more convincing than her telling me to my face that she doesn't have feelings for me."
"No, Ona it's not just that. Its..." Alexia was clearly struggling to not admit that she had firsthand testimony that you had admitted to being in love with Ona. "It's more than that. You just have to trust me, go talk to her again," she practically begged.
"Ale, I already trusted you. It didn't work out that well. She doesn't feel the same way, it's time to move on."
"Ona if you just-" Alexia sounded almost frantic at this point.
"No, Capi. I just need some time okay? I'll see you tomorrow." And with that, Ona hung up, just in time for both of you to collapse into laughter. She'd impressed you, keeping it together well. It turns out that the shakiness in her voice from being dishonest seemed similar to how she sounds when she's emotional.
The two of you had just stopped laughing, and regained your breath, when your phone rang. Seeing Mapi's caller ID flash on your phone literally only minutes after hanging up with Alexia was enough to push you both into another fit of hysterical laughter. You had to let the phone ring out before you could pull yourself together, wiping a few stray tears from your eyes.
"Alright, keep it together, I'm gonna call Mapi back. And Ona, don't you dare look at me or I'll lose it again." Ona took a deep breath, wiping the smile off her face, and turned around so her back was facing you on the couch. You took a deep breath too, before pressing the call button. Mapi answered before the first ring had even finished.
"Hey Mapi. What's up?" You made sure to sound a little dejected, but as though you were trying to hide it.
"Y/n! Um..." Mapi trailed off; it seemed she hadn't really thought calling you through all the way, and she didn't know what to say. Digging your nails into your palms to stop yourself from laughing again, you waited for her to decide what to say.
After a minute she finally spoke. "Patri told me you left the bar with Ona last night. What happened?" She tried to sound casual, but you could hear the serious tone in her voice. Ona turned to look at you, mouthing the words, Sure, Patri told you, before you pushed her shoulder to turn her back around.
"Oh yeah. I was just kind of drunk and freaked out over those weird guys. She just took me home. Nothing happened." You, as opposed to Ona, were a great liar. You knew how to lie, and how to layer a lie; allowing someone to see through what you wanted them to, but not alerting them to what was really going on. You let your voice shake slightly, trying to sound as though you were putting on a brave face.
You were met with silence from the other end of the phone. You don't think you'd ever lied to Mapi before, and she clearly didn't know what to do with it. She would know from Alexia that you and Ona slept together, and had a conversation, but she had no way of telling you that. She was stuck.
"Are you sure, nena? If something happened, you can tell me." Her voice sounded so genuine, so reassuring, that you had to really fight to keep yourself from telling her the truth.
"Yeah, I'm sure. Nothing happened." You cleared your throat, hoping to make it seem like you were fighting back tears. "I'm hungover though, and I don't really feel that good, so I'll see you tomorrow."
You hung the phone up before she could respond, groaning as you sat back heavily on the couch. Ona turned around, pulling your body to lay your head in her lap. She smiled down at you, and you grinned back up at her, admiring the freckles that adorned her face. You were beginning to think they were one of your favorite of her features. She absentmindedly ran her hands through your hair, and you melted a little at the sweet gesture.
"Should I be worried at how good of a liar you are?" She made it sound like she was joking, but you could sense a hint of insecurity in her voice. Instead of responding right away, you pulled her head down, pressing a deep kiss to her lips. When you broke apart, she was gasping for air, her eyes looking slightly dazed.
"As long as I keep kissing you like that, you don't have anything to worry about. I'll never lie to you, Oni. Promise." She returned your smile, before it fell from her face. Concerned, you asked her what was wrong.
"I'm gonna have to lie to Alexia tomorrow. In person. All day." She looked genuinely terrified at the prospect.
You laughed, "You're just gonna have to try your best to seem like an emotional mess and not a lying one." She sighed, clearly thinking deeply about how she was going to approach the next day.
-----
Ona returned to her apartment that night, and you decided you would arrive early to practice, to see if anyone asked you any questions, and Ona would arrive late, to avoid being asked questions right away.
You walked down the hall towards the locker room, thinking you would be the first person there. You stopped when you heard voices, leaning against the wall to shamelessly eavesdrop.
"-don't understand, why would she lie to me? She's never lied to me before, this is not normal." You felt a pang of guilt at the sound of Mapi's voice. She sounded really concerned, and kind of hurt. You reminded yourself that her and Alexia needed to be taught a lesson about their matchmaking, as they were getting too confident in their skills.
"I don't understand why they won't just admit whats going on to each other. I mean y/n straight up told Ona she didn't have feelings for her. They are making this so complicated, and now we have to get even more involved," Alexia sounded frustrated.
"I hate to point this out," Ingrid broke in, although she didn't sound that regretful, "but if you guys hadn't meddled in their relationship, they might have been able to take their time and figure things out themselves."
You didn't have to see Mapi and Alexia's faces to know they were both glaring at Ingrid.
"Helpful, Ingrid. Thank you. Ale's right though, we have to fix it, maybe we can-"
You walked in then, airpods in, pretending you hadn't been eavesdropping. You made sure to keep your gaze down, and your face neutral as you headed to your locker and set your stuff down. You could feel the three girls staring at you, and you pulled your airpods out before looking over at them.
"Hi?" You acted confused, catching them staring at you.
"Hola, y/n. How are you?" It was Alexia who responded, her eyes looking over you searchingly.
"Fine. How are you?" you turned back to your stuff, still listening, but began to pull your training kit out of your bag.
"I'm... fine." Alexia responded slowly, and you hummed in response, pretending to be distracted. The rest of the team started to trickle into the locker room, and you let yourself fall into conversation with Pina and Patri, who, unlike some other people, would never have mentioned to anyone that she saw you and Ona making out against the wall.
You watched Ona walk in out of the corner of your eye, and she sent you a small smile, back turned to Ingrid, Mapi, and Alexia, who were still huddled together in front of Mapi's locker, looking as though they were trying to construct a solution to end world hunger. They weren't paying attention to you, so you sent Ona a small smile back, before turning back to your conversation.
You didn't notice Ingrid clock the looks you and Ona exchanged, or the way her eyes followed the two of you the rest of practice. You and Ona made a game of it, seeing who could make the fake tension between the two of you the most obvious.
You thought you had won when you pretended to hear someone calling your name on the other side of the field when Ona neared the water cooler you were standing by. However, Ona took the cake when she took you out with a particularly nasty tackle that left you sprawled out on the grass, not bothering to apologize, going so far as to step over you before you could get up. The whole team exchanged looks at that one, and even though your body ached from the impact, you really weren't mad; Ona was competitive, you knew this.
Mapi helped you up, shooting a glare at Ona, and you had to hide your smirk in your shirt, wiping off your face with it. You still hadn't noticed Ingrid watching the two of you carefully, whereas Mapi and Alexia were individually focused on each of you.
When practice ended, you headed into the locker room, leaving a couple players out on the pitch to work on penalties, including Mapi and Alexia. As you neared the door to the locker room, you felt a sharp pain on your ear and yelped, feeling yourself be dragged down the hall. You heard a similar yelp coming from the other side of you, but at the risk of losing your ear, you didn't turn around to look for the source. Instead, you let yourself be pulled into the medical supplies closet, turning to face Ingrid, who let go of your and Ona's ears once the door shut behind her.
She looked at the two of you, raising an eyebrow, before she reached out a hand and pulled the neck of Ona's training top down slightly, revealing the many, many hickeys littered across her upper chest. It's possible you had gotten carried away yesterday morning, and Ona had to be careful about which top she wore, as the marks were barely covered by her shirt. Ingrid must have spotted one peaking out. You both blushed, and Ingrid sighed.
"You know that you're driving both of them crazy right? They think they've ruined your relationship, and both of you are going to die alone unless they do something to fix it." You fought back a laugh, and could tell Ona was doing the same.
"This is what they get for trying to play cupid. It could have ended like this, and they need to be taught a lesson. Who knows who their next victim could be," you joked, looking for a laugh from Ingrid, but only finding a serious face. "Oh come on, Ingrid, I heard you telling them the same thing this morning in the locker room." Ingrid opened her mouth to respond, but Ona interrupted her.
"Wait, how did you know?" she questioned, and Ingrid rolled her eyes.
"It's painfully obvious to everyone except those two! The little looks, little smirks at each other when you think no on is watching. That absurd tackle. The only people who don't know are Alexia and Mapi, because they're too upset to notice." Ingrid was shamelessly scolding you both, and you started to feel guilty. She turned her attention to you before speaking again. "You know Mapi cried yesterday when she got off the phone with you? She knew you were lying to her and she couldn't understand what she did to make you not trust her."
It made sense why Ingrid was so upset. She was fiercely protective of Mapi, and even though you knew she agreed with you, making her girlfriend cry was clearly a step too far.
You sighed, "We weren't trying to upset them, it was just supposed to be a little joke." Ona murmured her agreement with your statement.
"Well you did upset them. They both really care about the two of you, and thought they had really messed up. So now you're gonna go march into that room and tell them the truth, before you make my girlfriend cry again. Got it?" Her hands were on her hips, and she was glaring at both of you as you hung your heads in shame, and agreed. Ingrid had a reputation for being a big softie, but she could really turn on the stern when she wanted to.
She led you out of the closet, bringing you to an empty conference room, leaving with a warning to stay put. You and Ona looked at each other, exchanging wide eyed glances, not finding the situation so funny anymore.
"Damn, I really didn't expect them to be that upset," you stated.
"You know, I always assumed Mapi was in charge in that relationship, but clearly I've underestimated Ingrid" Ona mused, shutting her mouth tightly as the door opened again.
Ingrid walked in, with an incredibly confused Alexia and Mapi trailing in after her. You met Mapi's eyes, and she looked so worried that the guilt you felt tripled. Ingrid gestured for everyone to take seats at the table, looking like the least professional business meeting anyone had ever had.
"Tell them what you two did," Ingrid said, when it became clear neither you nor Ona were going to start the conversation. Mapi and Alexia turned to the two of you, confused.
"Well. We did talk yesterday. And we realized that the two of you were both telling each other things, and trying to get us together, and we were kind of annoyed, so we decided to tell you guys that we weren't together. But, we are. We figured it out," you started.
Ona continued, "and we didn't mean to make you guys upset, we thought it would just be funny."
Alexia and Mapi looked back and forth between the two of you for a minute, before saying at the same time, "so you ARE together?"
You and Ona nodded, and the two girls opposite you let out huge sighs of relief. Mapi ran her hands over her face, and you hadn't realized how tense she had looked until you watched it leave her body. Alexia looked like she was fighting back tears, which was incredibly alarming; you'd seen Alexia cry maybe 3 times. You and Ona started spouting out more apologies, but Mapi held up a hand, and you both grew quiet.
"We were upset because we though we'd pushed too hard and ruined your relationship. Can you imagine how guilty we felt? Lying to us was really mean. That being said, we shouldn't have started conspiring together in the first place, and for that, I'm sorry." Mapi was so rarely serious, it was really a sight to behold.
"What happened to the little Ona I knew that used to cry every time she lied?" Alexia was glaring at Ona, and you laughed quietly.
"She used it to her advantage. She had to sound upset to be convincing," you responded, and Ona slapped your arm, shooting you a glare.
"Alright, we've all apologized, everyone knows the truth, are we free to go now," Ona asked, directing her question towards Ingrid.
Ingrid looked between the two of you for a moment, before sighing, and standing up, heading towards the door.
"Fine. But you should probably make sure to cover up those hickeys all over your chest before you change in front of everyone tomorrow Oni." She smirked back at you, heading back into the locker room, as Alexia and Mapi looked at the two of you in horror. Ona made to bolt out of the room, and Alexia chased after her, demanding to see what ungodly things Ona had allowed you to do to her.
Mapi still looked grossed out at the thought, but you crossed the room, wrapping yourself around her in a hug.
"I'm sorry I lied. I never meant to make you feel like I didn't trust you," you mumbled into her shirt. She wrapped her arms around you, squeezing tight.
"All forgiven, nena. I can't stay mad at you. As long as you're happy, I'm happy." You pulled back, smiling at her. You heard a shriek come from the locker room, followed by Alexia's voice.
"My god! One wasn't enough, y/n, you needed to leave 15?" You winced, and Mapi looked down at you, her face once again one of disgust. You shrugged at her, and she wrapped an arm around your shoulders, walking you back to the locker room, hopefully to help you save your girlfriend from Alexia, but more likely to join in on the teasing. You found that you didn't really mind it.

Aitana rolled her eyes when she entered the changing room, watching how her friend was on her phone smiling like an idiot.
"Again?" Aitana scowled, walking to her cubby.
Y/N rolled her eyes this time. "Yes, nightmare. I'm talking with her, you have a problem?" She teased her friend.
The Catalan huffed, but stayed quiet.
"I'm going to London this weekend." Y/N informed her, wanting to pass Aitana's bad humor at the moment.
"You saw her last weekend." Aitana said looking at her, incredulous.
"And? I'm injured and this will be my last free weekend before next week I come back." Y/N explained, letting her phone aside to pay her attention.
"Have fun then." The midfielder muttered and grabbed her things, she stormed out from there.
Ona and Marta entered the changing room, confused.
"What happened to that one?" Marta asked, going to her cubby.
"Lia." Y/N only said. Both of them made a grimace indicating that they understand now. "I don't know why she hates her, if Lia is a sunshine." She tiredly sighed.
"She is jealous." Ona stated, looking at her gently. Y/N frowns. "Do you not notice it? She passes to have you for herself to share you with someone else." She explained.
Marta nods. "And it didn't help what happened in the world cup."
Y/N stayed thinking about it. Maybe they have the right. She thought it was for the incident she suffered, not for jealousy too.
"Why that face?" Frido asked, sitting next to her.
"Aitana is angry with me." Y/N muttered. Frido looks at her sympathetically, side embracing her. She is aware of the new situation.
"Give her time. I'm sure she just needs to process everything." Frido encouraged her, leaning her head on hers.
"Hug time and I'm not been invited?" Lucy entered the changing room and walked towards them when saw the pair.
Y/N laughed, opening her arms towards the British defender. She is grateful to have Lucy on her team, she always brings a smile to her face.
The brunette sat down on Y/N's lap, hugging her and Frido, making the pair laugh for her antics.
"Hey, Luce! If you get Y/N injured for more time, you will face me." Alexia warned, half joking half serious.
Lucy separated her head between the space from their heads and made a face to them, making them laugh more, earning another warning from their captain.
Y/N approached Alexia once she was free from Lucy's grip. The captain raised an eyebrow, inquisitive.
"This weekend I'm going to London... You get mad at me too?" She asked like a little kid.
Alexia passes her tongue for her lips, finding her behaviour entertaining. "Well... If you are careful on this trip, you can go." She teased her.
Y/N smiled sarcastically.
"Also... Can you talk with Aitana? I don't know why she is acting this way... I mean, right now I know because Ona put some light on it, but I don't understand why." Y/N asked for her help, explaining.
The Catalan nods, smiling. "Let me Aitana for me. She is getting more insufferable by the day." She hugged her. She felt a little bad for how Aitana was treating Y/N.
"Thanks, capi. Remind her that I love her, no matter what the situation is." Y/N whispered only to Alexia.
Alexia nodded. "I will tell her." She promised, missing the bonding that Aitana and Y/N shared.
•••
"I missed you." Y/N shyly said, hiding her head on Lia's chest.
The Swiss chuckled softly, caressing Y/N's hair. They both are sitting on the sofa, watching a film after dinner. Only being together for a few hours.
"Me too." Lia whispered, looking at her adoringly. She gazes at the scar on her left eyebrow, not resisting to kissing it.
Y/N hummed content, snuggling on her more. "You know... You are a good pillow." She sleepily said.
"Thank you, meine liebe." Lia said, laughing softly by her comment. "Why do we go to bed and resume the film there?" The brunette suggests.
"Fine..." Y/N agreed, reincorporating slowly.
Lia stands up and turns towards Y/N, opening her arms to her. The Spanish smiled widely with her eyes half open, standing up and jumping softly on Lia's arms.
The Swiss walked with her once she turned off all in that area and went towards the bedroom, letting Y/N on the bed and when she was reincorporating, Y/N hugged at her like a koala.
"Baby, I need to brush my teeth. Give me five minutes and I'm all yours." Lia negotiated, looking at her with a smile.
"I told you before to brush it, like me." Y/N said, pouting. Lia brushed her nose against her. The other sighed. "Fiiiiiiineeee... But don't get late."
"I won't." Lia promised, pecking her lips and standing up to go to the bathroom.
The midfielder came back after five minutes, like she promised. She chuckled to herself when saw Y/N sleeping. Lia turns off the lamp and lays next to her, passing an arm around her waist and kissing her cheek before she closes her eyes, letting out a happy sight.
She definitely can get used to this.
•••
Y/N breathe heavily, giving a big sip to her bottle water.
"We finished for today, girls! Good training, see you tomorrow." Jonatan said, dissolving the group to the changing rooms.
"We have bonding time tonight." Alexia informed the group, copying Y/N's actions.
"What place?" Some of them ask.
"Patri's place." Claudia answers, walking alongside Mapi and others to the changing room, the remaining girls soon following.
Y/N trailed behind Aitana. They aren't talking since she told her that she would go to London last weekend. Alexia informed her when she came back that the young Catalan stubbornly discussed it, not giving much explanation of what exactly words she used.
"Can I go with you?" Y/N adventure herself to ask her.
Aitana turned around surprised, but slowed her steps and put herself by her side.
"Yeah." She muttered, looking down. Y/N smiled internally, knowing how proud Aitana is, this answer was good. "I'll pass for you around seven o'clock." The brunette said, accelerating her steps and entering the changing room.
"That's a start." Ona said, walking by her side.
Y/N nods, smiling content. "Si. I hope I could talk with her about this topic. I can't stand that two people are important to me, they can't get along." She said honestly, looking at Ona with a grimace.
Ona pats her shoulder. "I'm sure once Aitana lets her stubbornness aside, they will be great friends." The Catalan said, smiling softly.
"Thank you." Y/N thanked her, leaning briefly her head on Ona shoulder.
The defender chuckled, getting inside of the changing room with Y/N by her side. "Not thank me, it's what friends do."
Without them noticing it, Aitana saw how they got inside and kept chatting animatedly, making something inside of her run an annoyance that consumes her quickly. She scowled, closing her locker a little too hard, bringing some curious eyes to where she is.
"Why is it too tight?" Patri said next to her, signaling with her index finger Aitana's jaw.
Aitana huffed and put away Patri's finger. "Shut up." She muttered, angry raising inside her.
"Hey! Control your temper, amiga. Recently you are defensively. Caml down a little." Patri retorted, rolling her eyes.
It angrier her more. "And you need to stop trying to get to know everything! Leave me alone." Aitana groaned, looking directly at Patri.
The Balear raised her eyebrows surprised but quickly it changed to a frown, already getting annoying for her mood.
"I'm trying to help! And right now that is impossible with you! You know why? Because you are a stubborn person that doesn't assume that someone can get into a relationship without you being jealous." Patri raised her voice, earning attention from all the girls.
Alexia and Irene went immediately towards them to try to stop the fight. The Captain put herself in front of Aitana while Irene went with Patri.
"Stop." Alexia said firm, watching how Aitana's face was turning red from her anger. She brings both hands to her shoulders and pushes her softly back.
"You have luck that Alexia is holding me!" Aitana shouted, threatening her. Right now she wasn't seeing a friend.
"OR WHAT? WHAT WOULD YOU DO?" Patri screams too, Irene holding her from behind to not go to where Aitana is.
Y/N went immediately towards them, putting herself in the middle. "Aitana, stop please!" She begged, helping Alexia to hold her.
"Leave me alone!" The brunette huffed, pushing Y/N's hands away, throwing daggers at Patri.
"That's how you treat your friend?" Patri said sarcastically, just like her smile.
It infuriated Aitana more and when she freed herself from Alexia's grip, she ran towards Patri pushing Y/N, to blind right now to care about her.
Ona ran towards Y/N quickly, helping her stand up from the floor while Alexia ran to hold Aitana but was too late, she punched her on the face.
"ENOUGH!" Alexia shouted, grabbing Aitana by her arm, pushing her away to where Ana and Mariona are. "DON'T DARE TO MOVE FROM THERE!" She threatened her. Then, she went towards Patri, examining her cheek and eye.
Y/N get angry with this. She didn't care about Aitana pushing her, but punching a friend no. So she walked towards her determined.
"What is your problem?" Y/N said, confronting her while crossing her arms, standing up in front of the three.
Aitana was regretting punching Patri on the face, but when Y/N approached saying that, it started again, like a flame.
"YOU! YOU ARE MY PROBLEM! I'M DONE WITH YOU, OKAY? I CAN'T STAND YOU TALKING WITH THIS GIRL. IS SICKLY WATCHING YOU GIGGLING ON THE PHONE AND ACTING LIKE A TEENAGER!!" Aitana exploded, making gestures with her hands while she spoke.
Ona once again run by Y/N's side, already annoyed with Aitana's behaviour. "Don't do that!" She roared. "Don't pay your problems with her."
Y/N was shocked, her expression changing by the moment for one from holding her tears and sadness from a stoic expression. She is hurt by her words.
Aitana let out a dry laugh. "Of course! Ona to the rescue! Taking my role very well, eh?"
"What happened to you?" Y/N asked, tired. Alexia was gonna say something but was interrupted by Y/N.
All the girls there were very shocked, but all of them were worried and ready if Aitana decided to bring her anger out, again.
Ana was holding herself. She doesn't like how the brunette referred to her best friend in a respectful manner and for the respect she has for her and Y/N, she remained on the spot, biting her bottom lip and with her arms crossed.
Keira was by Patri's side, not believing how another that she considers a friend, make that. Mapi got near Y/N and Ona, not trusting Aitana right now. No her temper.
Aitana comes out slowly from Mariona's back, her gaze fixed on Y/N. "Because you pushed me away. You prefer dating a woman who almost throws your eye out. Every time I ask you to do something together, you can't. I'm tired." The Catalan enumerated, in a monotonous voice. "Also you chose Ona before me... That's okay, I don't care anymore." She huffed, crossing her arms, looking at Y/N defiantly.
"Are you serious?" Y/N asked incredulous, confusion written on face.
The changing room stayed quiet, not knowing very well if they needed to intervene or not.
Y/N walked towards Aitana, Mariona put an arm, putting on a wall. The other looks at her. "I'm not gonna punch her." She let her know. "I would never believe this if someone told me... From all of the people, you precisely, you are telling me this. I never pushed you away, Aitana. I never in my life would choose between you or someone else. But I have the right to be in love too, just like you. What about Laia, uh? I tell you something about it? No. I was happy that you found someone! And yes, Lia almost throws my eye out but it wasn't her fault, it was a bad coincidence because there is a hole on the pitch. I love her Aitana." The last comment was a beg, just like her gaze. "I don't know why you are feeling this way, we can talk about it, but you only push me away, always angry. You are the only one pushing away people." Y/N said defeated. "About Ona? She doesn't take your place because no one can do that. She is my friend. Our friendship is special, Aiti... If you are trying to say that I need to choose between you and Lia, you are losing this battle." Y/N finished, her voice broken.
Aitana swallows the lump that formed in her throat. "Then, good luck." She said, looking stubbornly and knowing that she pushed away the person that always was there for her. The one who knows all her secrets, her fears, her first steps in this life with new things and people. She prefers to say goodbye to her, than to apologise and give the right reasons.
Y/N stormed out crying, followed by Ona and Lucy. Ana turned to look at Aitana, her eyes red from retaining her emotions.
"The last time you spoke like that about Lia, you heard me?" Ana hissed, following the way that the others crossed, pushing with her shoulder Aitana's.
Alexia looked at her disappointed, making Aitana feel worse, accentuating her mistake. "The next time that you will talk with Y/N is when you want to apologise. Meantime, stay away from her." The midfielder muttered, looking mad. She passed by her side too.
Aitana grabbed her things and got away before someone else told her how bad she acted.
•••
"Hey... What happened?" Lia interrupted herself when saw Y/N bloodshot eyes.
"Nothing." Y/N murmured, looking briefly down. When she raised it, saw how Ana was looking at her raising an eyebrow. "I got into a fight with Aitana." She explained, seeing how Lia's concerned features changes for one of compression. "I'm in Ana's place."
"Baby... What happened this time?" Lia asked compressive.
"She's stubborn and doesn't let her emotions out. She prefers to lose me than give you a chance to meet you." Y/N muttered, a tired grimace plastered on her face. "She punched at Patri." She declared, seeing Lia's surprise reaction. "And she's jealous about you and Ona."
"She would notice how much you mean for her. She just wants to protect you and it came in that form. Give her time." Lia reassured her, a soft gaze accompanied by a cheerful smile. Ana scoffed by the other side of the living room. "Hello, Ana! Something to say?"
Y/N turned the phone towards the blonde. "Yes. Aitana right now is unbearable. You don't know how bad she spoke to Y/N or anyone. For not talking about how to speak about you." Ana states, a frown decorating her features.
"She is angry and doesn't know how to control it. She thinks that she is losing her best friend." Lia defended the Catalan, making Ana roll her eyes.
"Of course you say that..." Ana muttered, looking back at her phone.
Y/N directed her phone towards herself again and somehow, she agreed with Ana.
"I miss her... I don't know what I would do without her." Y/N said sad, some tears rolling for her cheeks.
Lia leaned her head aside, looking impotent because she wanted to be by her side and say that everything would be okay.
"Give her time, meine liebe." Lia reassured her.
Ana sat down by Y/N's side, wrapped her right arm around her shoulder and kissed her head affectionately.
Y/N loves Ana, but she wished that it was Lia who was holding her right now.

Five days passed and Y/N felt worse everyday that passed. The team supports both parts, never leaving one behind. But, Aitana was making it difficult. She trains and later goes away, not wanting to front the reality, not wanting to look too much to Y/N and it didn't help that she always has someone around her. Ona, Lucy, Frido, Ana and Alexia are the main ones to always be around her and Patri sometimes too. Speaking about the Balear, her nose wasn't broken fortunately, but it became inflamed the first two days, later a bruise that turned slowly in a purple bruise.
Y/N wiped her cheeks with water, and sniffled, blinking repeatedly and looking at herself in the mirror.
"I don't believe how pretty you look even with red eyes. I think it accentuates your eyes' colour." Lucy comments behind her, leaning on the wall with a lipped smile.
Y/N rolled her eyes, but painted a tiny smile on her lips. "Stop to display your charm, please." Y/N teased her, tightening her ponytail while looking at Lucy by the mirror.
The British chuckled softly, walking towards Y/N and wrapping her arms around her waist, leaning her chin on Y/N's right shoulder.
"Where are you going now?" Lucy asked in a whisper, balancing herself and Y/N slowly.
"Well, tonight I'm going to stay at Ale's place. It's her turn to babysit me." Y/N muttered, feeling like a child who needs to keep her safe.
Lucy noticed Y/N's demeanour. "Don't say that. We are doing it because we care about you. And it is until you feel a little better."
Y/N hummed. "What about Aitana?" She asked in a low voice. "It's not fair. I have known her all my life and she is keeping her emotions to herself." Y/N states, crossing her arms.
"Don't worry about her... She is taken care of too." Lucy said firm, kissing her head.
"I need to worry?" Alexia comes in, clearing her throat. She has her hands on her jacket, her backpack on.
The other two turned to look at her, still in the same position. They saw how Keira was standing by Alexia's side.
"Well, I prefer that my girlfriend make that question." Lucy said, smugly.
Alexia blushed a little, but she rolled her eyes. Keira and Y/N shared a look and chuckle discreetly.
"C'mon Y/N, we need to go." Alexia muttered, ignoring Lucy's comment.
"No! She is mine." Lucy declares, hiding her head on Y/N's neck and hugging her more.
"Keira, please!" Alexia whined. It made Y/N laughs. It's funny how Lucy always knew what button to press to make her jump.
Keira decides to intervene for Alexia's sake. "Lucy, let's go. We need to go." The midfielder said, coming inside and trying to let go of her grip on Y/N.
"They try to separate us! But I promise you that our love will rise soon!" Lucy dramatically exclaimed, letting Keira hold her hand and walked with her towards the exit, not without making a scene.
Y/N was laughing hard at this point. God, she adores that woman. "Not encourage her." Alexia sternly said, crossing her arms now.
"Stop being like that. I know you are grateful that she did those stupid things because she makes me laugh." Y/N smugly said, grabbing her backpack on the floor and grabbing Alexia's hand to walk outside.
The Catalan rolled her eyes and let Y/N lead the way, seeing Mapi, Ingrid and Sandra chatting while they were walking to the exit.
Y/N ran fast and jumped on Mapi's back, making the Aragonese squeal. "You scared me, idiota." Mapi muttered, holding Y/N's legs.
"That's the point." Y/N chuckled, wrapping her arms around her neck.
"She arrives." Sandra muttered to Alexia when she walked by their side.
Y/N made a confused expression. "Who?" Y/N asked curious.
Sandra and Alexia shared a look, of course, Y/N noticed it. "My friend, she is waiting for us outside. I hope you don't mind, I promise you it will be a short encounter." The Catalan explained, giving her an apologetic smile.
"Okay." Y/N simply said, shrugging. Then, she started a conversation with Mapi and Ingrid.
Sandra was the first to walk outside, holding the door for them to pass. Y/N jumped down and hugged instead of Mapi's left arm, protecting herself from the cold.
"Ana is there!" Y/N points out, seeing her talk with somebody else that was giving her back towards them. She supposed the person was Alexia's friend, knowing perfectly that Ana has a talent to make friends quickly.
"Yeah, she is coming too." Alexia announced, stretching out her hand towards Y/N, who changed Mapi's arm for Alexia's.
"Have fun." Mapi whispered when she kissed her cheek affectionately and walked quickly when saw Y/N's confused expression.
She raised an eyebrow to Ingrid, who chuckled softly. "It's Mapi. Don't mind her." The Norwegian stretched out her arms and hugged her. Then, once they separated, she hugged Sandra too.
"Do you give her the talk?" Y/N asked, holding a laugh. Alexia closed her eyes and let out a smirk.
"This time I think it's not necessary." Alexia admitted, getting closer to the other two people.
Ana saw them and waved, giving them a big smile. It made the other person turn, making Y/N paralyzed on the spot.
She looks at Alexia and her and Ana and spends a few seconds doing that, making the three laugh about her antics.
"Have you met my friend?" Alexia asked, smugly.
Y/N ran again and jumped on the new person's arms, making her destabilise a little on the spot.
"What are you doing here?" Y/N asked surprised, holding her face between her hands.
"I wanted to give you a surprise." Lia said smiling. Y/N couldn't hold anymore the wish to kiss her and smash her lips into hers.
It was a simple touch of their lips, an innocent one. Then, Y/N pecked her lips a few times, displaying later for all her face. Lia is just enjoying the affection towards her.
"Easy there, tiger." Ana said, interrupting the moment.
Y/N looked at her. "I have enough jealousy." She states, giving her a sarcastic smile.
Ana opened her mouth, shocked. Alexia, who was standing by Ana's side, held a laugh putting a hand on her mouth. In Lia's case, she let out a laugh.
"I'm not jealous. I just don't want to see my friends face being sucked. Is gross for my eyes." Ana defensively said, crossing her arms.
"Let's go to my apartment, where I can suck your face privately." Y/N mocked, jumping down and grabbing Lia's hand. She stopped in front of Alexia and looked at her innocently. "Do you mind?"
The Catalan rolled her eyes. "Of course not, silly." She said, leaning briefly and kissing her forehead.
"What about me?" Ana asked by their side, still with her arms crossed.
"You can go with Ale." Y/N said, shrugging and walking away from Ana laughing, still with her hand intertwined with her girlfriend.
"Be careful!" Ana warned after making the feint to follow her.
"For the first time I saw her really happy. And it takes five minutes with Lia." Alexia says once they saw how the couple walked to Y/N's car sharing some occasional kisses.
"She wanted to talk with her." Ana announced, looking serious to her captain.
Alexia sighed. "Well, you can be present in the talk. I could be outside waiting too."
•••
Y/N traced with her fingers Lia's features. It is the next morning and she is just awake from an alarm warning her that she needs to go to training soon. The brunette let out a whimper and hugged herself more to Y/N.
"Don't go." Lia said in a raspy voice, still with her eyes closed.
"I wish it." Y/N whispered, wrapping her legs around her waist. "But you know better that I can't."
"I can accompany you." Lia suggests, trailing a way of kisses in Y/N's jaw.
"You are an Arsenal player. I can't do that." Y/N said seriously, making Lia laugh. "What? It's true."
"Well, I can drive you there and I will stay with your car and go to explore this city and later I can go for you... How did it sound?" Lia explained her plan, playing with a lock of hair from Y/N between her fingers.
"It sounds amazing." Y/N agreed, leaning and kissing her lips softly. Lia hummed happily.
Then, the couple got ready to go to the training grounds. Y/N walked with her hand intertwined with Lia's, something their teammates noticed immediately and some of them started to chant.
"You all are immature." Y/N murmured, sitting next to Mariona and Lia next to Ana.
From a distance, Aitana watched the interaction with her jaw clenched. Her leg moved uncontrollably under the table. When she moved her gaze from the couple it is because hers and Lia gazes coincide.
"You know. Right now you are a pain in the ass for everyone." Surprisingly Patri sat down next to her. "And I know you regret every word you said to her. So please, let your stubbornness aside and speak with her, because you can suffer the consequences later." She said it firm but with a hint of sympathy.
The brunette cleared her throat after the brief shock took her face. She looks briefly to where Y/N is, a happy smile painted while talk with their friends and occasionally her gaze staying too long in Lia's face.
"I don't know how." She murmured, defeated. "I tried to send her a message. Even a letter. But I coward myself and I don't do anything." Aitana confesses, letting aside her rough behaviour. Her head down while she looks at her cup of coffee.
Patri left her cup on the table and knew at that moment that her Aitana was back. A smirk took her features, she leaned with her arms on the table, crossing them. "I can help." The Balear hummed.
Aitana raised her gaze towards her, surprised and confused at the same time. "How?" She murmured, intrigued.
"When you are ready. You can't force yourself to open up. Just... Don't take it too long, it can be late." Patri adviced, shrugging.
The Catalan nodded, swallowing. Patri could notice her dark bag under her eyes, signal that she barely slept. Even in her voice, it is more intermittent.
At that moment, the captain passed by their table with a little shocked face. It made the two young girls look at themselves and let out soft chuckles.
"I didn't see it coming..." Alexia murmured, frowning.
•••
"Hi!" A sweet voice greets her.
Aitana knew exactly who is without the necessity to look up.
"Hola." Aitana murmured, grabbing her shoes to put them on.
Lia bit her bottom lip, a strong grip on her bag. She walked in, seeing a few of them who greeted her, the Swiss greeting back.
"Can I sit?" Lia asked softly. Her answer was Aitana shrugging. So, she took it like she could sit. "How are you?" She asked sincerely, looking at her expectantly.
The Catalan bit her bottom lip, hard. "I have been better." She answered after a few minutes of silence.
The Arsenal player nodded, even if Aitana wasn't looking at her. She cleared her throat, hesitant. She moves on the spot and passes her tongue for her dry lips, choosing to do it now.
"Can you hear me for five minutes and later you can continue on to hate me?" Lia said, her gaze fixed on the short girl. It took surprise to the midfielder, hearing the firmness tone to her request.
"I guess." Aitana lowly said, hiding her surprise expression and putting on one of, I don't care what you need to say to me.
Lia took a deep breath and released her grip on the bag. "I know that you don't stand me because of what happened in the world cup. Believe me, I blame myself enough for that... Until Y/N explained to me that it wasn't my fault, just an unfortunate moment. Plus, another fact you can't stand me is that I'm dating your friend." The Swiss noticed how the other clenched her jaw and fist, still not looking at her. "I could say I'm sorry, but I'm not. I don't say sorry for being happy with a wonderful person, who lately has been sad because she had a fight with a very important person, because of me. Am I right?" She saw how Aitana gave her an imperceptible nod, biting the inside of her cheek, a tough grimace plastered on her face. But Lia could sense in Aitana's eyes a different look. "I don't want Y/N to choose between us, I know we are very important to her and get along it was the idea. I'm not asking you to be friends, but we can be friendly for Y/N. I felt impotent when we called and she is crying and I can't do anything because I'm in another city." She said it seriously, a firm tone matching with her eyes. Lia turned her body towards the Catalan, putting an arm in the back.
Aitana felt very guilty. The last part made her let her guard down, the force on her jaw loosened. After she looked at the ceiling to recompose herself a little, blinking a few times to hold her emotion, she cleared her throat. "You're right. I don't stand you." Aitana started to say, this time gazing at Lia. But it is not in a threatening way, only in a calm manner. "You make my friend suffer, I don't care if it was on purpose or not. You did. Add that I'm a stubborn person, the combination is bad. Then, you two started to talk, she was, sorry, is on her phone. It angers me because you are always her attention and I'm not. Later, you two started dating." Aitana shakes her head in a soft way. "I felt out of place, I passed to have her always, to barely see her. I accepted I was jealous, it took me many discussions to realise it." She explained how she felt, giving her a sarcastic smile, to cover up. "She was always by my side. Even when I started dating Laia, for giving you an example. She encourages me in every idea or dream I have. I thought I did the same for her... But I don't think that. I did it, but not in the same way as her. She is more than a best friend to me and I know it is nonsense about my behaviour towards you and her, I don't have excuses for that. If you make her happy, I'm happy. Más vale tarde que nunca." Aitana finished to say, this time with a sincere smile.
Lia gave her a sweet smile and put her right hand in Aitana's shoulder, squeezing it. Maybe it's a bold move, but she doesn't care, she is watching how Aitana was regretting her behaviour and she wants to change, it's enough for her.
"Talk with her. She misses you a lot." Lia mumbles.
Aitana nods. "I'll do it. I miss her too." She confessed, awkwardly putting a hand on the hand resting on her shoulder and patting it a few times. "And sorry about how I treat you, you don't deserve my bad mood."
"It's nothing." Lia murmured, this time wrapping the arm around her shoulder and hugging her.
A few knocks were heard, calling their attention. They noticed too that they are alone in the changing rooms. Ana's head popped in, a worried expression painted on her features but relaxing it when saw their position.
"Y/N is coming." Ana said, coming inside. Behind Ana approached Frido and Alexia.
Aitana raised both eyebrows, confused. "Why are you three over there?" She asked, really confuse.
"We are waiting for Y/N." Alexia mumbles, sitting next to Lia, crossing her arms.
"And put a stop if you are intolerable." Ana directly said, shrugging without any care when Frido and Alexia gave her a warning look. Aitana let out a tiny smirk, it doesn't pass unnoticed by Ana. "What?"
"Three people to hold me?" Aitana asks teasingly, imitating Alexia's and crossing her arms, looking at Ana.
Lia held a laugh when saw her friend blushing, but Alexia and Frido didn't and it made the blush to deepen.
"Stop it." Ana mutter.
At that moment, Y/N opened the door and entered, her conversation with Ona and Keira dying down. Her gaze focuses on the people there.
"What are you doing here?" Y/N asked, frowning. She notices Lia sitting next to Aitana, making her more confused by the situation. She looks at Ona, who shrugs, sharing the confusion.
Aitana turned to look at Lia. "If you let me, I can explain it." She whispered, shyly. The Swiss nodded with her typical sweet smile. Aitana cleared her throat and stood up, looking at Y/N. "She came to talk to me." She saw how Y/N tensed, gazing at her girlfriend for any signal. Aitana let out a tiny smile. "I don't punch her, don't worry. We only talked. And... After a few minutes I understand why you like her." She tried to light the mood, but Y/N crossed her arms, looking at her sternly. "Look, I'm sorry. For everything. For being an idiot, to treat you and all of you bad. But I'm afraid to lose you." Aitana said in a tiny voice, walking slowly towards her. "I don't know why I didn't share how I feel with you from the start. So, in front of all of you, I'm sorry." Aitana messily said, now in front of her.
Y/N bit her bottom lip, hard. Her gaze on Aitana, looking at every feature, trying to figure out if she is saying the truth or not. The present there shared a look between them, worrying because Y/N was taking too long to say something.
"I can't wait to tell you everything!" Y/N exclaimed, throwing herself at Aitana. All of them there burst laughing by Y/N behaviour. She turned to look at them weirdly.
"You said it in English, baby." Lia clarified, grinning.
Y/N kissed Aitana's cheek and went towards Lia, sitting on her lap and wrapping both arms on her neck, the Swiss wrapping hers on Y/N's waist.
Aitana turned to look at the scene, this time smiling grateful for having back her friend. "You took too long, uh?" Ona comments behind her.
The midfielder turned to look at her and saw a smirk. "I'm sorry for how I treat you." She said, guiltily.
Ona rest importance shrugging and wrapped an arm on her neck, the other hand leaning on Aitana's arm. "I know you would enter in reason. But I forgave you." She teased a little.
"That's why you supposedly took a long time to come..." Y/N murmured at Lia, grinning.
Lia smirked mischievously, shrugging and intertwining her hands on her back. "Maybe."
Y/N gazes at her with heart eyes and grabs her face with her hands, shorting the distance that separates from her mouth with hers in a soft kiss.
"Kissing in front of you... She has no respect for her captain." Ana teasingly said to Alexia.
"Do you want a kiss too?" Frido interjects, teasing Ana.
"If it came from you, I'm not complaining." Ana charmingly said, sitting next to her.
"Your friend is an idiot." Y/N murmured on Lia's lips.
Lia giggles. "Yeah, but thanks to her we are together."
"Listen to your girlfriend." The blonde behind them warned.
Y/N rolled her eyes and turned her head to look at her. "Excuse me, it is a private conversation."
"That you are having in a public place." Ana retorts, smirking smugly.
"Careful there Ana." Aitana warned playfully.
Ana frowns and looks at Lia. "Defend me, please."
"I'm good, thanks." Lia said, kissing Y/N's cheek lovingly.
Ana gasp.

Tumblr media
being nominated for golden girl was a surprise.
a month after the beach hangout with esmee, its october. i got the news that I've been nominated for the award along with salma, esmee, vicky, and giulia.
I have a feeling that esmee or salma will win it. the both of them are excellent here at barcelona, and they have a world cup campaign to back up their votes.
I didn't.
but little did I know, many people were hoping that I'd win. tons of support has came my way because of my season with the club so far.
each game I've played in, an assist or a goal was attached to my name. my dribbling skills and speed has helped the team with scoring through the toughest defense that another team might bring.
at halftime against atletico madrid, everyone wasn't in the best mood.
the score is 0-0 and nobody has managed to get close to scoring. jona has faith in us, but we were frustrated about scoring a goal. I knew that the atletico players were relieved about not conceding a goal yet.
as I stood by the doors on the dressing room, eager to head out on the pitch to play again, I felt a hand on my right shoulder.
turning my head, esmee gives me a small smile before pulling her hand away. this makes me relax as I follow patri out onto the pitch, with esmee following behind.
esmee was out on the pitch with me since we started together. jona put me on the left-wing and esmee as left-back.
the game starts again and in the 54th minute, patri shoots to score a goal. however, the goalkeeper hits the ball away with her hands instead of catching it.
the ball rolls towards me-- I am standing outside of the box on the left side so I kick the ball towards the goal.
the ball isn't stopped as the ball goes under the goalkeepers legs. the goal is 1-0 as i turned to patri with my hands in the air.
patri runs into my arms and the rest of the team on the pitch come to hug me.
esmee saved herself for last. I hug her tightly as my hand rests on her shoulder.
"that's my golden girl!" esmee mumbles into my ear.
that caused my stomach to melt and my face burned with shyness, however I rolled my eyes playfully-- knowing where she was going with that.
"you're the golden girl-- not me!" I say as I pull out of her embrace and run back into position.
as a smirk is plastered on my face, I look over to see vicky and bruna on the bench giggling. at first, I would've assumed that they're laughing about their own jokes.
that's until vicky started to make kissy faces.
"grow up!" I mouth to the kid on the team as salma prepares to kickoff the game again.
thirty minutes later, the game ends in a 1-0. this wasn't our best, but I know that we will achieve more next game.
"hey capi." I walk over to Alexia, who displays a forced look of content on her face. she was putting the last few toiletries in her gym bag after taking a shower, so she looked at me over her shoulder with a small smile.
"hey nina, great job on today." she turns around and gives me a hug. my face warms at her compliment, alexia tried her best to never let her inner-emotions show around the team.
"thank you. you did great today too." I placed my hand on her right arm as she smiles.
"I know this doesn't have much to do with the game but remember when olga asked about the recipe for the smores dessert I gave you guys a few weeks ago? I have it in my bag if she wants it." I say.
it might've been funny to mention this after a game, but I knew alexia needed the tiny distraction.
"oh yes yes yes! I can have it." she walks behind me as I go over to my bag, pull out a paper with the printed instructions and handed it to her.
"thank you!" Alexia says as she looks over the paper.
"hola! why can't I have one?" patri says from her locker. she stands up and jogs over to look at the paper over ale's shoulder.
"patri you've never tried this dessert." I giggle.
"yes but from the looks of this paper it looks good, I want some." patri says.
"what are we looking at!?" I heard Vicky's voice speak.
a group of salma, vicky, bruna, and esmee walk into the dressing room, seeing patri and alexia reading over the white document.
"oh no." I mumble. this caused a giggle to come out of alexia.
"this is good! who's receta is this?" vicky looks at Alexia, who looks at me with a devilish look.
"maybe I should've gave olga that personally..." I sigh and alexia smiles.
"bruna, esmee, come read this-- doesn't this sound delicious?" salma waves the two girls, who stood by the door, over to read over the small recipe.
my eyebrows knitted together at this, I thought smores were a thing here in europe. well, of course its an ice cream treat that involves it-- but nonetheless.
"is it the sa-mores treat?" esmee smirks at me. my heart warms as I nodded my head with a giggle.
salma, vicky, and patri snap their heads to look over at esmee--who walks over to stand beside me in front of them.
"esmee, you've already tried this?" salma asks.
"why are you surprised? of course esmee tries her girlfriends desserts." vicky casually says.
my jaw drops as patri and salma burst out in laughter. esmee blushes as alexia gives us her signature smile-- amused at the situation.
"okay okay-- you guys can come over to my apartment and I'll make some for the entire team tomorrow night, deal?" I laugh as i take the paper from patri's hands, giving it back to alexia for olga to have.
"deal." salma smirks, not ignoring how you-- or esmee- didn't deny or get defensive over the girlfriend claim by vicky.

Crush (Ona Batlle x Reader)
850 followers? 🤯Thank you all so much for putting up with the chaos of this page to get a fic every so often. Writing an Ona fic for this felt right since she was the first person I wrote for here. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for sticking around. 🤍
Summary/anon request: R tells Alexia she likes Ona while Ona has a similar conversation with Jenni. Can the team moms make these two get over their issues to tell each other how they feel?
Tumblr media
“Ale, could I talk to you for a minute?” you asked. You played with the strap of your bag, hoping your captain wouldn’t be too mad about what you were about to tell her. You’d been struggling with it since you’d met Ona and you had tried, unsuccessfully, to get over it yourself. To get over her yourself. Alexia had been a really good friend to you until now and you hoped that wouldn’t change.
“Of course. What’s up?”
You looked around, seeing some of the other girls still lingering around the locker room. “Let’s get a coffee and talk?” She nodded and followed you out the locker room and into the cafeteria. There weren't many girls there.
"Find us a seat. I'll get the coffees," she said.
You picked a table in the corner of the room that only had two chairs, hoping to avoid anyone else joining this conversation. You loved your teammates but sometimes they didn't know boundaries. Alexia put the coffees on the table, giving you a soft smile when you looked up at her. Sitting in the seat opposite you, she waited for you to say something. You both silently drank your coffees for a minute before you finally decided it was now or never.
"Look, Capi, I've been really struggling the last few months with something. And it's awkward. And we're a team. And I didn't know who else to talk to. This has never happened to me before. And I've tried everything I can to just move past it but I can't."
Alexia reached across the table and took your hand in hers, gently rubbing her thumb over yours. It immediately helped to calm you down. "Look, kid. Whatever it is, we'll deal with it. Just tell me."
You looked up at her and your eyes caught Ona's over Alexia's shoulder. She gave you a worried smile, taking in the position you were sitting with Alexia. You nodded at her to let her know everything was okay.
Alexia looked over her shoulder to see who had caught your attention and bit her cheek to hold the smile when she turned back to you. She'd been watching you and Ona dance around each other ever since your first call up a year ago. "Hey," she said gently, tugging your hand to get your attention back. "Is this about Ona?"
Your eyes widened. Had you been that obvious? Did that mean Ona knew as well? Mortified, you lifted your free hand to cover your eyes and nodded.
"It's okay." She pulled your other hand away from your face and held it as well. "It's really okay."
"Does everyone know?"
"No, honey. But Ona is like my little sister and I've seen the way you look at her."
"I've tried really hard to get over her. I hate dating anyone on the team because it messes with dynamics." Alexia arched an eyebrow at you. "I'm not as good at controlling my emotions as the rest of you are. I mean, I don't even know if she likes me the same way I like her, so it might not even matter." You'd learned early on that there were a few couples on the team. You envied them. You could never tell when they were fighting or having disagreements because they never brought it to training or games. You knew you weren't as mature as that, though. And that scared you.
"How long have you been trying to get over her?"
"A year," you admitted. You tried not to look over her to Ona again, although you could feel Ona's eyes on you.
"Y/N, that's a really long time. Don't you think you owe it to yourself to see if she feels the same way?"
"No," you slipped your hands out of hers to take a sip of your coffee, "no, I can't. Please don't say anything. I just needed to tell someone because I was going crazy keeping it to myself."
"Of course not. I'll keep your secret. You can talk to me about it any time you need."
"Thank you. I'm sorry for unloading on you. I just didn't know who else to talk to."
"Don't apologize. And for what it's worth, I think you're actually very good at handling your emotions on the field. It's one of the things Jenni and I have talked about when discussing lineups for games we know are going to be physically intense. You never lose your cool, no matter how aggressive or dirty the other teams are playing."
"That's different," you muttered.
"I don't think it's as different as you're making it out to be. But I'm not going to push you to do anything you don't want to. Even though I still think you owe it to yourself to say something if you've been feeling this for so long."
"I'll think about it. Thanks for listening, Ale."
"Anytime you want to talk, you just have to ask," she said, standing up. Moving to your side of the table, she pulled you up and into a hug. "I promise everything will be okay."
You leaned on her for a minute, hoping she was right. Alexia was usually right about things. But you were so uncertain about this entire situation. And it was really leaving you feeling uneasy. "Thanks, Ale," you muttered into her shoulder. She rubbed a hand over your shoulder when she stepped back.
"You know where to find me if you ever want to talk more about it. But please think about what I said."
You nodded at her. "I will. See you later." Picking up the cups, you took them over to the dish rack to be cleaned. You felt Ona come up behind you so you weren't shocked to find her standing so close when you turned.
"You okay?" she asked, reaching out to touch your arm.
"All good." You offered her a smile. If either of you had known about the conversation occurring across the room from where you stood, neither of you would have been as comfortable in that moment.
On the other side of the room, Alexia dropped down next to Jenni. "Everything okay?" Jenni asked, rubbing a hand over Alexia's thigh.
"Apparently we have been setting too good of an example for the kids," she answered quietly. She picked up a few blueberries from Jenni's plate to eat.
"Meaning?" Jenni nudged the plate over towards her girlfriend.
"Y/N has a crush. And she's afraid it'll hurt team dynamics if something happens between them." Alexia turned to look at Jenni when she felt her stiffen. Narrowing her eyes, she studied Jenni's face. "You know something. Spill."
"No. Nothing. I know nothing." Jenni yelped when Alexia pinched her side. Pouting, she rubbed over the spot. "That was mean, babe."
"No secrets," Alexia reminded her.
"Fine. But when she comes for me, I'm throwing you in front of her. That kid has a nasty temper." Jenni looked up to see you and Ona leaving the cafeteria together. "Ona's got a crush, too."
"Let me guess. Y/N?" Jenni nodded. "Why are they like this?"
"I don't know but it's awfully cute, don't you think?"
"Yeah, adorable." Jenni drifted off for a minute, thinking back to when her and Alexia were that age, dancing around each other. "So how are we going to get them together?"
Alexia gave her a wide grin, pleased they were on the same page. Leaning conspiratorially towards her, she whispered a few suggestions in her ear.
The following day, Alexia called you and Ona over to sit at her table during breakfast. "Morning, girls." They both mumbled good morning and sat down next to each other. Alexia looked across the table at Jenni as you and Ona each took your first sip of coffee.
"Hey, Y/N," Jenni said. "I wanted to ask you something."
"What's up?" You put your coffee down and picked up a strawberry to eat as you looked over at Jenni.
"My baby cousin is coming to Seville the last week of the month. I was wondering if you'd take her out while she's there. Show her a good time." Jenni avoided looking at Ona but she could feel the woman glaring at her. Ona was fully aware of Jenni's "baby cousin" and her antics. When Jenni had asked Ona to show her around Manchester, the girl had tried everything in her power to get Ona into bed. Ona had called Jenni and cursed her for sticking her with "a piranha."
"She can't. She's supposed to be in Manchester that weekend," Ona said before you could respond.
"Oh, that's okay. She'll be there mid-week," Jenni said with a smile.
"Yeah, of course," you said, offering Jenni a smile. "It's no problem. I love showing people around my city. Just give her my number and tell her to text me." You looked over to give Ona a smile but she was busying herself with her breakfast. Narrowing your eyes, you studied her profile and missed the sly smile Jenni sent to Alexia.
Ona's mood didn't get any better as the day went on. In fact, it just got worse. She ignored you through most of the training. Even when you put her favorite playlist on. Usually she'd do a little jig she'd learned from Ivanna when she heard it but not today. You tried to ask her if she was alright a couple times, but she said she just wanted to focus.
That was when you got a glimpse of what life would be like if you dated Ona and ever fought. Further proving your point. As her mood got worse, so did yours. By the end of training, you were in such a foul mood that all you wanted to do was go back to your room and take a nap. You escaped as soon as your coach released you all, running back to your room. You took a long hot shower and pulled on a sweatshirt and shorts. Laying on your bed, you stared up at the ceiling.
Despite what Alexia said, you knew you couldn't do this. You couldn't put the team through this. You didn't even know what was wrong with Ona and it was still able to upset you. Setting an alarm for dinner, you shut your eyes and pushed back the few tears that wanted to roll down your cheeks.
The pounding sounded distant. And not at all like the alarm you'd set. Your eyes slowly opened and you realized it was knocking at your door. Rolling from the bed, you walked to the door and pulled it open. Ona stood on the other side, dressed in nearly the same thing as you.
"Sorry, were you napping?" she asked, looking at you.
"I was. But it's fine." Stepping back, you let her into your room. Silently, she walked past you, stopping in the center of the room. "Are you feeling better?" you asked once the door was shut.
"Not really. But I'll sort it out."
"Want to talk about it?"
"No."
"Okay." You both lapsed into silence, neither sure what to say next. Ona reached out to play with the pocket of your jacket before pulling you into a hug. She buried her face in your neck and held on. You held her to you, feeling the tension slowly seep out of her body. Your own shoulders slowly relaxed as you held her.
"Should we get some dinner?" she asked, stepping back. You played with the end of her hair and nodded.
----
When you got back to Seville, you had a few weeks before Jenni's cousin was set to come to town. You cleaned your apartment and went to training and tried not to think about the extra-long hug Ona had given you when you'd left each other at the end of camp. It was only a month until you saw each other again. But it felt like ages.
Jenni's cousin, Carla, was nice enough. You'd met her a couple times at games over the last few years. She was traveling for a week before meeting up with her girlfriend in Portugal. The two of you had a lot in common and you had fun with her.
You couldn't ignore that Ona had stopped responding to you as soon as you told her Carla was with you, though. It was bothering you. Not a single response. Nothing to your 'good morning' or 'good night' texts. Nothing to you asking about training or her day. It had only been two days but you missed her. You knew she was perfectly fine because Man U had been posting videos of her from training.
Her non-response had you dreading the upcoming weekend. You'd never dreaded seeing Ona before. It wasn't a feeling you liked.
When Carla left, you called Alexia, nearly at your wits end. You were meant to leave in the morning for Manchester. And you really weren't sure that you should. Ona still hadn't said a word to you. You missed your best friend but it felt like she didn't miss you at all. You weren't sure how you would handle spending a weekend in Manchester with Ona acting cold towards you.
"Ale," you said when she answered. You pulled the cover over your head, blocking out the city lights creeping through the curtains. "Ona won't talk to me."
"What do you mean, honey? What happened?"
"I don't know. She's been off since camp and then she just stopped replying to me a few days ago. Has she said anything to you? Or Jenni?" You could hear her ask Jenni if she'd heard from Ona this week.
"We haven't talked to her, Y/N."
"I don't want to go to Manchester tomorrow," you were crying now. You felt so stupid. How could you have been so stupid to fall for Ona? How were you supposed to face her at camp next week?
"Let me call her. Let me see if I can figure out what's going on," she offered.
"I still don't want to go. Ale, I'm messing everything up for the team already and we're not even together," you cried.
"You're not. You haven't messed anything up."
"Our dynamics are going to be all off because of this."
"They're not. I promise you, Y/N. You have an incredible capacity to keep yourself focused on the field."
"Capi, I don't want to feel like this," you cried. "I don't want to like her."
"Sweetie, you can't just turn your feelings off like that." She let you cry for a minute because what else could she really do? "Come to Barcelona this weekend," she offered gently.
"What?" Wiping your sleeve across your face, you tried to catch some of the tears.
"Well you don't want to go to Manchester. And I don't want you to be alone. So come to Barcelona. You can stay at our house."
You thought about it for a moment. You didn't want to be alone. And you certainly didn't want to go to Manchester. "Okay. I'd like that."
"Great. It's settled then. We'll get you from the train station."
"Thank you."
"Not needed, kid. Get some sleep. We'll see you tomorrow."
You looked up the train schedule for the next morning and saw there was one leaving at 8 that would get in early afternoon. That was perfect. You quickly cancelled your ticket to Manchester and texted Ona that you wouldn't be coming. You didn't expect her to respond but you turned your phone off anyways, just in case. You didn't really want to see what she had to say if she did respond.
By the time you made it to Barcelona, you were pissed off. Your sadness had worn off and now you were just mad. As far as you knew, you hadn't done anything to warrant Ona's behavior. And if you had, she was acting immature by not telling you what the problem was.
The four coffees you'd had on the train ride probably hadn't helped to calm you down at all.
After dropping your bag off, you went for a run with Jenni and Alexia. You weren't yet in the mood to really talk to them. But they talked to each other, poked fun at the frown on your face, and tried to get a smile out of you. By mile 5, they finally got a laugh out of you. You slowly started relaxing. The anger had taken over your body, had made you tense on the train. By the time you were back at their apartment, you felt more like yourself.
"Is it okay if we go meet Aitana for her birthday? Or do you want to stay home?" Jenni asked when you were all back inside.
"Of course that's okay. I didn't mean to ruin any of your plans."
Alexia put a hand on your shoulder. "You're not ruining anything. Aita would've understood it if you wanted a quiet night in."
"Yeah. No, it's fine, let's go."
And that's how you found yourself sitting at a table with a bunch of the Barca and national team girls two hours later. If there was one thing these girl could do, it was lift your spirits. Over the next hour your mind didn’t wander to Ona once. Your mind didn’t remember that you were mad and hurt and sad. All it knew was love and happiness and joy and laughter.
Until she walked in with Laia Alexandrei an hour into dinner.
“We’re so sorry we’re late. Ona’s flight was delayed.”
“Funny how you could make time for this.” It was out of your mouth before you could stop yourself.
"You're the one who cancelled last minute." She jerked her chair back and sat down, refusing to look in your direction. "I see this is what was more important."
You were taken aback. How was she even pretending to make any of this your fault? Fine. If she was going to be that way, then you could ignore her too. You turned back to Jenni, who was looking across the table at Alexia, both of them appearing to talk to each other without actually talking.
"What?" you asked quietly.
"Nothing," Jenni said, looking at you. "Are you okay?" she whispered.
You flashed her a smile, intent on putting Ona to the back of your mind again. "Perfect. I'm here with my friends. Celebrating Aita's birthday. I'm perfect." For the rest of dinner, you ignored Ona's presence at the table. Usually the two of you would make eye contact, would talk to each other, would share your inside jokes. But not tonight.
You ignored the deep, deep ache that was settling in your chest the longer you sat at that table. The ache spread through your entire body when Aitana cut her cake and Laia leaned over to give her a birthday kiss. When it was appropriate, you excused yourself to escape to the bathroom.
You took a few deep breaths, leaning against the sink. "It's okay," you muttered to yourself. "Everything's fine. Friends fight. You'll get through this." You washed your hands in cold water, barely feeling it. Taking a few more deep breaths, you went back out to the table.
"I snagged you a slice of cake," Jenni said when you sat down again.
"Thanks."
"We can take off after this, if you want," she whispered.
"I'm fine," you answered, reaching for your wine. "We can stay as long as you guys want. Don't worry about me."  She ran her fingers through the ends of your hair.
"We didn't know she was going to be here, kid. We promise."
"It's okay, Jenni. We can't control other people. It's fine." But you knew she didn't believe you. You could feel her eyes on you for the remainder of the night. You kept the smile plastered on your face, no matter how much it hurt now. After you'd come back from the bathroom, you hadn't been able to lie to yourself anymore. You were really hurt. So hurt you didn't know how you would get up tomorrow.
But tonight, you needed to be there for your friends.
Tomorrow was tomorrow's problem.
At the end of the night, you hugged all your friends good night. You looked at Ona across the room, debating whether to say good night to her. You wanted to. You badly wanted to hug her and apologize and make everything fine between you again.
But you couldn't. You couldn't forget how she'd made you feel. How unwanted and unimportant she'd made you feel. How easily she had dismissed your feelings, like they weren't important.
If you knew that she was feeling the exact same things as you, you would have given into your heart and gone to her.
But Alexia came to you, asking if you were ready. With one last glance across the room, you nodded. That night, you stared at the ceiling of their guest room and barely slept for an hour. The following morning, you knew you had bags under your eyes as you sat across from Alexia at the table, sipping your coffee.
"What shall we do today?" she asked.
"Doesn't matter. I just don't have the energy to run into Ona today. If you wouldn't mind just texting Laia and seeing where they are today, I'd like to just avoid that."
"You'll have to talk to her eventually." Alexia picked up her phone and sent out a quick text to Laia.
"We'll see each other at camp. That's soon enough."
----
But it was still too soon. She was in the lobby when you walked in. You greeted your coach and got your room key. And attempted to keep your breathing even. Alexia had promised you that she'd made certain you weren't assigned to share a room with Ona. At least that was a small comfort.
You soon learned that even though you weren't sharing a room with her, she was just across the hall from you. The two of you bumped into each other on more than one occasion leaving your rooms. Luckily, you hadn’t had the displeasure of actually having to work with her alone or be around her alone. You didn’t think you’d be able to handle that just yet.
Alexia and Jenni tried what they could to shield you from her. And you were extremely grateful to them for that. They didn’t have to. They loved Ona. They’d known Ona for longer than they’d known you. You would have understood if they’d sided with Ona here but you still would have been hurt.
You couldn’t help it. Without Ona by your side, you were feeling overwhelmed by your emotions. You wished the two of you could be in the same space without taking digs at each other. You wished you could just ask her what the problem was and trust that she would tell you. You wished for so many things. So many things that you wished you didn’t wish for anything. You knew wishing didn’t do anything for you. You knew wishing wouldn’t get you anywhere.
The day of the friendly against Switzerland, you rushed out of room for breakfast. You couldn't believe how late you were already. Hopping on one foot down the hall, you yelled for the person in the elevator to hold it open. You could see the doors beginning to close as you neared and you hurled your body through the opening, hoping you'd make it through.
Seeing Ona standing in the elevator alone made you wish the doors had shut fully before you'd gotten there.
"Late?" she asked.
"You are, too," you answered with a sneer. Bending, you tied your shoe properly. The elevator came to an abrupt stop and your head snapped up. You hated elevators to begin with. Being trapped in an elevator was one of your worst nightmares. To be trapped with Ona right now was a different kind of nightmare.
Standing, you pressed the button for the first floor. Nothing happened. You tried the call button but nothing happened.
"I'll try to call down," Ona said. As she dialed the number on her phone, you realized you left your phone in your room. Of course you had. The one time you actually needed it and you didn't have it. You could hear her tell the front desk that you were stuck in the elevator but your heartbeat was getting louder. When she disconnected the phone, she turned to tell you what they said.
But you were too focused on yourself in that moment. You could feel your throat beginning to close up. It was too hot. The fire was spreading through your entire body. Your breathing was too heavy. You could barely breathe. You tried to give yourself air by pulling on the collar of your shirt. Sliding down, you sat down hard, barely able to stop your head from hitting the handle.
"Y/N. Hey." Ona crouched down in front of you. You squeezed your eyes shut and tried not to take anymore of your surroundings in. You could tell Ona was talking to you because her breath was hitting your face but you weren't making out any of her words.  "Look at me, amor." She grabbed your face, forcing you to meet her eyes. "Match your breathing to mine. In," she breathed in, "out" and she let it out. You tried to follow her instructions.
Her hands on your face and her proximity to you should have felt suffocating. But it wasn't. She wasn't. She was a comfort. You tried to focus your attention on her hands on your face rather than on the small space of the elevator. You tried to follow her instructions to match your breathing to hers.
When you began to feel right again, you asked her to step back and give you some space. You started to stand, slowly. Ona immediately put her hands under your elbows to hold on to you. She dropped her hands when you glared at her. You held onto the handlebar for dear life and saw Ona retreat into the far corner.
"Are you okay?" she asked, quietly.
"I'm fine now." You wrapped your arms around your stomach.
"Why didn't you come to Manchester?" she asked after an awkward moment of silence.
You looked over at Ona. Ignoring the sad look on her face, you said, "You're kidding me, right?"
"I -" The radio let out a loud static sound followed by the front desk clerk letting them know someone had arrived to open the doors for them. "Jenni said I was idiot for hurting you. I wanted to ask what she meant. But she just called me an idiot again."
"Because you are." You rubbed the side of your head. "I don't want to fight with you anymore, Ona."
"I don't want to fight anymore either."
"Great. So please respect that and don't talk to me anymore."
"Wait a second. I don't want to fight anymore. I mean, I want to be friends again."
"I can't be friends with someone who completely disregards what I'm feeling." The back of your eyes burned but you refused to cry. Not right now. Not in front of her.
"Y/N, I put you on a pedestal. Everything is about how and what you feel."
"You left me alone, Ona. No explanation. No response. Nothing. You just, you disappeared. You made me feel like I was unimportant."
"No, I - "
"Don't tell me what I felt!" you exploded. "Please. Don't do that," you said, almost whispering the last words.
"I'm sorry." She folded her arms over her chest and leaned back, her chin tucked down slightly. You knew that was her signal that she was done talking. That her brain was shutting down to the outside world and she was going into herself. That worked just fine for you. You didn't want to talk to her anyways.
The two of stewed in silence while the doors of the elevator were slowly pried opened. While you allowed yourselves to be helped out of there. And then you went your separate ways. There was no need for anymore words right now. The damage was apparent to the both of you. The way to peace entirely unknown, if a path even existed.
Walking into breakfast, you'd never felt so disconnected from the girls around you. Ona had always been your anchor to them, however odd that was. Even this past week when all you had exchanged with her was snide comments, her presence helped you feel like you belonged there. It was a feeling that didn't make much sense to you and you didn't know exactly what to call this feeling.
Without looking around the room, you knew Ona wasn't in the room. You would have known. Taking a couple breaths to try to bring yourself back to this moment, you went to the food table and filled a plate with food. You'd seen Jenni at the corner table while you waited for eggs and she's motioned for you to come to her.
Taking the seat across from them, you started eating silently.
"You good, kid?" Jenni asked, her eyes slightly wide, watching you eat spoonfuls of food without really chewing.
"Fine. Got stuck in the elevator." You washed it all down with your coffee.
"Alone?"
Narrowing your eyes at her, you said, "No." Normally, she would have asked if you were okay and be more focused on your wellness. "I got stuck with Ona."
“Mission accomplished,” Jenni said, holding out her hand to high five Alexia. When Alexia slapped her hand, you narrowed your eyes at them again.
“You made the elevator stop?” You couldn’t believe they would do something like that to you.
“You two needed to talk," Alexia answered. "And you weren’t going to without a little push.”
"I expect this kind of behavior from her," you tilted your head towards Jenni, "but not from you, Ale."
"Okay, your annoyance for us aside," Jenni said, "did you two talk?"
The tips of your ears began to burn. "I had a panic attack," you whispered.
"Oh my god. Are you okay?" Alexia asked, immediately getting out of her seat and rounding the table to pull you into a hug.
"I'm fine now. I don't know what happened but everything just started closing in on me and I couldn't breathe."
"I'm so sorry, Y/N," Alexia said, pulling you closer again. "We didn't mean for that to happen. We just wanted you two to talk."
"Well, then, mission failed," you mumbled.
Alexia let you go and sat back in her seat. "Tell us."
"It was awful, guys. I told her I didn't want to be friends anymore."
"What?" Jenni exploded, drawing the attention of several others, including Ona. She waved them away saying everything was fine. "Sorry," she said when you glared at her. "What do you mean, exactly, Y/N?"
"Jenni, those words aren't confusing," you said annoyed. "I said I don't want to be friends anymore."
"Why did you say that?"
"I don't know, okay? I don't want to talk about this anymore." You began to gather your things. "I'm tired. I need to relax before the game. I think I'll go to my room for a bit. Excuse me."
You retreated to your room, to your bed, hiding under the covers until it was time for the team to meet. You ignored your roommate trying to make conversation and put your earbuds in, endlessly scrolling TikTok. You were already regretting telling Ona you didn't want to be friends. You wanted Ona back more than anything. You weren't lying when you said you didn't know why you had said those words. They had come out before you could fully think about it. And you hated yourself for it. You hated the look on Ona's face. You hated the way she retreated into herself. You silently cried under the covers while you ate your snacks.
When 2:00 rolled around, you washed your face and straightened your ponytail. You put a small amount of mascara on and tried to smile at your reflection. It was game time and for the next few hours, that pitch was all that mattered.
You made sure to follow your exact pre-game rituals. They helped you get focused and ready for what was to come. Plus, you were superstitious. If you didn't do it exactly right, that could be why you had a bad performance.
During the team meeting, you focused on your coach and his words. After the meeting, he pulled you aside and told you that he'd like to give one of the newer girls some playing time in your position towards the end of the match. It was a friendly and you didn't much care. Plus, she was a great young player and needed time with the team to prove herself.
The match was relatively uninteresting. At the half, Spain was up 3-0. You were happy to be winning but you really felt the need to have a fight right now. That's what you wanted. You wanted a battle for the ball, you wanted a battle for a goal, you just wanted a battle.
What you did not want was to hear the sound of Ona's head hitting the goal post and to hear it echo throughout the stadium. What you did not want was to see was her body, unmoving, crumpled in front of Sandra. Screaming her name, you and the med team ran as fast as possible towards her.
"Ona!" you said, dropping down next to her, opposite Sandra. You hovered over her face, fear coursing through every corner of your body. "Ona, Ona wake up." You grabbed her waist, your fingers digging in. "Ona. Come back to me," you whispered. Someone tugged your arm to get you to move back and you reluctantly stood while the medics checked her. You saw her eyes flutter open, and she looked around her confused.
Alexia held onto your arm as they put Ona on a stretcher. You didn’t realize you had started to shake until she rubbed your shoulder and whispered that Ona would be fine. The doctors would take care of her and you’d all go to see her right after the game finished.
You finished the match in a haze. When coach finally pulled you out in the 75th, you tried to get off the field and to the medical room. Laia stopped you and said they had taken Ona to the hospital.
“Oh,” you said quietly. Sitting down, you tried to focus on the game. But your thoughts were on Ona. You couldn’t handle it if she was really injured. And what if it was worse than that? What if your last words to her were that you didn’t want to be friends with her anymore? You didn’t know if you’d be able to handle that. You didn’t know if you would ever be able to get over that pain.
Jenni was subbed out in the last couple minutes and she beelined directly to you, pulling you close against her side for the remainder of the match. You rested your body against her, your head on her shoulder, and tried not to cry. You could not cry here. The tears were prickling the corner of your eyes. Biting the inside of your cheek, you tried to hold it back. You could not cry here.
When the game was over, you made your way onto the pitch to meet with the other players. You greeted them as quickly as possible before you were ushered off the field by Alexia, who had somehow managed to arrange a car to take you to the hospital.
You lied to the security guard to get access to Ona's room. You weren't sure what this hospital's rules were and you weren't going to risk being denied access. You weren't sure what you expected to see in her room, but Ona sleeping peacefully was not it. Hoping not to wake her, you took your boots off and left them by the door, tip-toeing to the chair next to her bed.
Putting a hand on the bed next to hers, you tested to see how deeply asleep she was. She didn't move. Lifting her hand, you pressed a light kiss to her fingers. You laid her hand back down on the bed next to her and rested your hand on top of hers.
For the next half hour, you talked to her, about everything and nothing. Telling her what you had been doing since your cancelled trip to Manchester. There were so many times you had done something and wanted to text her. So many sunrises you'd watched that you wanted to send her photos of. So many coffees you'd wanted to share with her. So many moments of your life that should have been happy but had been shrouded in a little dark cloud because you couldn't share it with her.
"I didn't mean what I said in the elevator," you whispered. "I want you back in my life so badly. I miss you so much, Ona. I love you."
The door banged open behind you, jarring Ona awake. Her eyes flicked around the room, trying to orient herself, while Jenni told off Patri for being so loud about her entrance. Ona's eyes landed on you, and moved down to where your hand still covered hers. "What's going on?" she mumbled.
"I'll get the doctor," Aitana said.
"Ona, do you remember what happened?" you asked quietly, your fingers tightening on hers.
"Not really." Her eyes welled up. "Y/N. What are you doing here?"
"We're all here, Ona," Patri said. "You hit your head pretty good during the game."
"Who let you all in here?" the doctor asked as he came into the room. "Ms. Batlle, how are you feeling?"
"Okay. Just have a headache."
"You took a hard hit to your head. You have a mild concussion. We were waiting for you to wake up but we'll be sending you back to camp pretty shortly here. I talked to your medics there already. They'll take over your care from here. Basic concussion precautions, Ms. Batlle. Come back if there are any changes."
"So we can take her back?" Alexia asked. "Has she taken an meds we should know about?"
"Someone will be here in a few minutes to discharge her and then she's free to go. I sent a message to your medical team but she's taken meds for the headache and should continue taking those so long as the headache persists. I trust you can get her back to camp safely."
"Yes, doctor," Alexia affirmed. He left them alone and Alexia turned to the large group. She ordered the majority of them back on the bus. She stayed behind with Jenni, Laia, and you to bring Ona back in a car.
"Did we win?" Ona asked when the room cleared.
"5-0," Laia answered.
"Then it was worth it," Ona said. She closed her eyes again, letting her head rest back against the pillow. You and Laia exchanged a look, both rolling your eyes. Ona would always put the game above all else, even her own health.
Over the next few days, you and Laia took turns watching over Ona. You wanted to talk to Ona, really talk to her about what had happened. But the medical staff had told you all that Ona was not to have any stress. And you didn't want to be the reason Ona didn't heal properly.
For Ona, these days with you were something out of a dream. She didn't believe she had woken up back to a world where you were treating her with care and neither of you were making snide comments towards the other. She had asked Laia to pinch her on multiple occasions. Laia had pinched her but had always called her an idiot while doing so. Ona had to agree. She had been an idiot. After a long night talking with Jenni, Ona had finally admitted what happened. And Jenni had called her an idiot a few more times. Ona never told Laia what happened or of her feelings for you, but the way the two of you danced around each other had made it obvious to her.
On the third night, the final night you would be staying here, you had volunteered to stay with her after dinner. Most of the team had gone back to their home, camp having concluded. A few of you had remained, opting to stay behind and watch over Ona in the time before she was allowed to travel home. You had managed to avoid being alone with her until now, not wanting to begin any type of argument while she was supposed to be resting.
And that had been your plan for this evening as well. Play some games with Ona, watch over her while she slept, and then leave. But Ona had other ideas. You could feel her eyes on you while you set up the game. "We'll just play a short round before bed, Ona," you said, dealing her five cards. "I know you've been resting a lot but the doctors said it was important you sleep well every night."
"You sound worse than my mom when she calls," she murmured.
"We always did get along well," you said, smiling.
"She asked if I would bring you to dad's birthday party."
"Oh." You discarded a couple cards, drawing from the deck to replace them. With a satisfied whoop, you dropped the ace on the bed between you and moved your piece forward on the board.
"Oh? Just 'oh.' Any other comment?"
"I'm not sure there's anything else to say, Ona."
"Do you want to come home with me for dad's birthday?" she asked, looking at you over her cards.
"Do you want me to?"
"Of course. I always want you around."
That familiar hurt in your chest made itself known and you lowered your eyes, focusing on the cards in your hand. You refused to let those terrible feelings ruin this moment. This moment that was nothing but pleasant.
"Y/n/N? You okay?" she asked, kicking your leg with hers.
"Yup. It's your turn."
"Forget the game. I want to talk."
"Ona, the doctor said you need to rest. I don't think we should have this conversation right now. Let's just play the game."
"I've done nothing but rest for days. I'm rested. I want to talk to you. Please. I'm fine."  Ona took the cards from your hand, and put them with hers on the bedside table. She moved the board across the bed so nothing remained between you. Moving closer, she let her legs rest of either side of you. "You said I made you feel unimportant," she said quietly. "I am very sorry I made you feel that. You are incredibly important in my life, Y/N."
You  met her eyes, trying to judge the sincerity of her words. "Why did you disappear, Ona? Why didn't you answer any of my messages?"
"I tried so many times. Every time I picked up my phone to text you, I just saw Carla with you in my mind. And I hated it."
"Carla?" you asked, confused. "What does she have to do with anything?"
"Nothing, really. I was jealous. It was stupid. I was an idiot. I thought Jenni sent her to you to try to set you up with her. When I met Carla, she tried very hard to flirt me into bed. And I was mad at Jenni for doing that even when she knew the truth. And I didn't know how to talk to you about it."
"Ona, you're not making any sense."
"I know." She squeezed her eyes shut for a moment before taking your hands and scooting a little closer. "You are very important to me, Y/N. And I'm jealous of anyone who gets close to you. Because I, well, I like you, a lot, Y/N. And I told Jenni just a few days before she set up this visit with Carla. And I was irritated with Jenni for that. I've never felt for anyone what I feel for you. You're special, Y/N."
You sat in disbelief for a moment. Thinking about what Ona said. Thinking about your own feelings. All your brain could come up with was, "Those assholes both knew." Ona looked at you confused. "They did this on purpose."
"Huh? Who?"
"Jenni and Alexia. You said you told Jenni just a few days before that you like me. And I told Alexia the day before that I like you. They did this on purpose. Idiots."
"Hold on. Back up. You told Alexia what?"
"Er, right." In your annoyance with your captains, you didn't realize exactly what you were saying and now that you were being asked to repeat it, you were suddenly nervous. You silently chastised yourself for being nervous. Ona had already told you she liked you. There was nothing to actually be nervous about. "I told Alexia that I like you, that I have feelings for you."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
You raised your eyebrow at her. "Pot. Kettle."
"Point taken."
"But it was more that I was trying to get over you and I didn't know how to." At the defeated look that crossed Ona's face, you continued, "I failed, don't worry. Even despising you the last month, I couldn't get over you. And I was scared to date someone on the team because what would happened when we fought?" You turned your hand over under Ona's and curled your fingers around her. "The last month was the worst but it also showed me that I can continue being a good teammate and player even when we're off."
"I could've told you that wasn't something you ever needed to worry about. You're incredible on the field, amor."
Your mind went back to that day in the elevator, with Ona's hands on your face, her body crouched in front of yours. Look at me, amor. "You called me that before."
"Sorry. It just came out." The tips of her ears turned pink.
"I like it," you admitted. You grinned at each other. "Ona?"
"Y/N," she answered in the same tone.
"Do you think you might want to come to Seville one weekend? So I can take you out on a date?"
"How's this weekend?" The corner of her lip tipped up.
"Wide open."
"Y/N?"
"Ona."
"Can I kiss you?"
"Absolutely."

Ive been reading a lot of yan!scara fics but i was thinking.. how would scara be with a yandere s/o???
Boss! Scaramouche X yandere Assistant/Bodyguard reader PART 2?
OoF. that made my brain stop while i was just 'struggling' writing something anon. U CURED MY WRITERS BLOCK.
where we last left off in the "boss scara series" you confessed to him and made the first move. the both of you began to truly cling onto eachother. but what if y/n finally shows their obsessive behavior..
Scara ranting to childe :((
CAPI'S NOTE: IM TRAUMATIZED. PART 1 GOT A COMMUNITY LABEL :/ now I have to be a little nice in the smut parts. Any advice on how to avoid it is appreciated :)
AM I FREAKING OUT FOR NO REASON? GN😭❌ ITS 12:13AM
BOSS! SCARA. PART1
Part3!
AMAZING ART
Scara masterlist
WORDS 1.2K
Tumblr media
MINORS DO. NOT. INTERACT.❌❌❌
Sparring:
i feel like reader would start acting a bit creepy, Like for example Scara would usually just have you wait outside the building for him to come back from changing his attire back into his suit after you two 'spar' but reader insisted to wait for him 'outside the changing room' Scara thought you we're trying to act like a tease as usual and say things around 'hmm? You wanna see more my pet?' or even down right have you suck him off in his personal changing room. When it comes to sparring your always giving him such praise for his strength, its not everyday or..at all. where someone can surpass you of all people. but you just couldnt EVER wrap your head around him~ "Your so strong master~ I never expect anyless from you" You'd both usually spar for around 5+ rounds but scara started to feel..Different about it.
Fighting/Missions:
"Tsk. Another boring ass day coming to aclose.." He'd say while turning off his favorite song, bohemian rhapsody. He adjusts his tie while opening the door to see you with a big smile on your face. With his already needed paperwork you got from his 'bestie' childe. "The fuck is all this?" "Its your paperwork for the week master~ I already filled it all out for you and childe helped me-" He snatched it away from you." "Alright shit..You dont have to act like such a fucking nerd y/n."
The both of you walked through narukami island, through the outskirts to inazuma city while a bunch of nobushi tried to ambush you. With one swift draw of your weapon you murdered them all in one blow. Scara barely shifted his eyes away from his paper. Only to see your bloodthirsty smile as the nobushi rogue samurai began to cough up blood. He was use to seeing and experiencing reactions like this due to him always being around childe when they train within the abyss. But you. Something was off about you lately.
Scara would purposely drag you into the abyss when its usually just him and childe. He whispered to childe, pointed at a group of abyss creatures and said that they 'are after him' and the both of them would watch as you rabidly charged at his 'enemys' like a dog. Blood splatters all over your suit as you laughed at their pathetic attempts to try and get a free hit at you.
Childe
"Hey comrad! How are ya' today?" The ginger said while sitting next to you in the hallway waiting room. "IM great childe! Me and kuni went out to eat today and it was so much fun. Have you seen the way he fights childe? The way he pulls out his katana..." You daydreamed and ranted off about scaramouche to childe. The both of you shared the same bloodthirsty perspective, Weather over your s/o or just in general. But little did you know he put on a happy face infront of you. Scara asked him to 'spy' on you and ask about what the two of you did today and hear your reaction.
---
"Childe something is up with y/n. I dont know why the fuck they keep acting like that."
"Like what? Dont you usually have the same type of attitude scara.. Dont you Like that?"
"Ugh. I knew talking to you was going to be pointless. Childe, I dont know who is more of a fucking burden. You or Y/N."
Then they suddenly heard you knocking on the door. "Kuni!! Are you in their kuni!"
"the fuck-" Scara said under his breath. He halfly opened the door as childe kept quiet.
"Mmm~ master there you are.. I was hoping you could help me with my sparing tonight." You began to open the door farther and push at his tie. "No. im fucking busy." He removed your hand. "Kuni..But your always busy. And didnt i already help you finish your work today?" He sighed at your perseverance. "Y/n. One day im gonna fucking fire you if you keep pissing me off. And the fuck has been up with you lately?" "N-Nothings wrong kuni! I-im sorry. I just wanted to spend more time with you.." That was all you needed to hear to severely apologize for bothering him and went 'home'
"Well shit. Comrad ill leave this up too you :D -" the ginger patted the short mans shoulder and walked towards the door.
"where the fuck are you going?"
"Im going home-"
He looked at childe with a dead expression.
"Hey listen. If this is really a problem to you, Just get rid of y/n. Your stronger then them right? Problem solved."
"Im not going to fucking kill them."
--
Y'all do it 🤪
scara would obviously feel some sort of way about your sudden change in behavior But be entertained at this 'game' he'd play with you. You came off so sweet and well put together. you would apologize and blush at the littlest of things but now you we're addicted to him. You murdered with no hesitation, Every thought you had was about him. You'd send nude pictures of yourself, Even videos to him while he was at meetings of you fingering yourself. But it was nothing he couldnt handle. He knew how to always put you in your place, He already surpassed you in everyway. He was stronger then you and certainly had you wrapped around his finger. He threatened to fire you hundreds of times just to see how fucking scared and how'd much you beg but never did fire you unlike everyone else, Yet every single time your heart would skip a beat at the word. Leaving kuni was something you never wanted to happen. Ever. Kuni concluded that he'd have fun with you for as long as he wanted. He knew dam well you weren't going anywhere unless he chose.
his phone rang.
"What?" Scara answered in annoyance.
"K~kuni i~" He was greeted to the sound of you moaning "im- F-fuck~ Im s' sorry for earlier. Can i be your good pet and make it up for you daddy? Im waiting for you at home"
Scara went to his penthouse and when he opened the door to his room, while taking off his tie. You we're putting on a show for him, face down ass up with 2 of your fingers going back and forth inside your wet hole. "Kuni~ your home....P-please~ I want you inside of me~" "Oh yeah? Is my little slut that desperate f' me?" He took no time taking off his belt and shoving his pants aside to stuff his cock inside of you.

Captain: I'm not angry at Four for being brainwashed, I'm angry because she didn't tell me. Brainwashing is a traumatic event... She may say she's fine- but what Four says and how she actually feels can be two very different things. I just... Thought she would come to me with her troubles... If not as her Captain then- At least as her brother...

How are paragenic systems formed? Is it voluntary or not? Because I have compulsive daydreaming and I don't know if I have a system or not I'm lost :(
hey, so we’re not paragenic ourselves (though we have an alter who formed out of a paracosm), so we’re not be the most knowledgeable about this system origin and how it manifests. but it’s to our understanding that paragenic systems may or may not form voluntarily - it depends on the person, their situation, and their system.
we understand “paragenic” to mean systems whose origins relate to daydreaming, whether through maladaptive daydreaming, casual daydreaming, or something else. it’s possible to daydream and even live with maladaptive daydreaming without having a system. many folks may find that they daydream a lot and interact with the same figures in their daydreams, but that doesn’t necessarily make them plural.
it is our opinion that, if someone feels plural and wants to use that framework, then they’re plural enough and can call themselves a system. so ultimately it will be up to you to determine whether or not the figures you meet and interact with in your daydreams are headmates.
we’ll include the pluralpedia link for paragenic origins so you can learn more:
if any system sees this who is paragenic and/or has paragenic headmates, feel free to share a bit about your experiences to help the-capy-system find some answers.
wishing you all the best with figuring this out :)

What if a pedroboy of your choice brings this snack over to you...
Have I told you lately that I love you? This made me squeal. I WANT TO FILL UP ON FRESH FLAVOR IN CAPYBARA FORM.
Listen. This could very easily have been Dieter or Frankie. But I was compelled to choose a new boy because this dude's gonna come down my pipeline soon and it feels like him. And it's nice to take these two out for a practice spin.
_____
You stare down into the bag in disbelief. Outside of work he can get distracted, forget where he put his keys, walk out the door with two different shoes on....
"I think you got my bag mixed up with Missy's."
Marcus smiles as he pulls plates out of the cupboard. "Nah. She prefers the hedgehog meal. I thought you might like these."
"Really?" When you pull the capybara shaped chicken nuggets out of the bag, he's there just in time to catch them on a plate as they accept their fate and tumble calmly out of their cardboard container.
"Yeah," he says, pushing the thick frame of his glasses back up his nose. "They're sleepy. Like you."
"Hey. The only reason I sleep late is because you like to keep me up late."
"I keep you up late because you keep me up. ...Late."
When he reaches to swipe one of the novelty nuggets, you hug the plate close and access your power, transporting instantly to the other side of the kitchen. "I thought you got these for me, you thief."
At first you're confused when your stockinged feet start sliding over the laminate kitchen floor. But then you realize your belt buckle is made of metal and he just gives you a sly grin as you glide straight into his arms.
"I did," he laughs as you stuff a puffy little cappy chickey in his mouth, chewing around a kiss to your cheek and a tilt of his head at the other bag on the table. "Mine's in that one."
"Oh? And do you also like the hedgehog meal?"
Shaking his head, he swallows. "Fox meal."
"Ah. Because you're foxy," you deadpan, anticipating the dad joke.
He holds you tighter burying his face in your neck and growling, dancing his hips stupidly against you. "Because I"m foxy!"
And now it's your turn to laugh and chew as he pops a crispy capy through your smile and keeps it there with a kiss.

I am very new to the woso , you can say rookie and dumb of me. I just got into soccer because of tobin heath and her soccer skill , also found out that there are lesbian players in the uswnt . Is there any lgbt in the Spain and Barcelona woso team . They are the world champions right
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hey, no worries! we all have to start somewhere and new fans are always welcome to help grow the game! although i have to say that you picked an interesting time to start following uswnt. 👀 i don't think they have many gay players left...
as for spain, yes they are the reigning world cup champions, and barça is the reigning liga f and women's champion league winner.🏆
as to your question, both teams have a very high percentage of gay players. not everyone is out and proud per se, but most basically just live their lives and aren't afraid to show it. honestly, you're better off asking if anyone is straight on those teams. 😂
anyway, have a lovely family photo of capi irene paredes, her wife, and kid:

Don't Be - Antoine Griezmann
Summary: He's happy you get along with his friends and teammates, he's just not that happy seeing them a little too friendly with you
Tumblr media
"Look who's here today!" Angel Correa's voice yelled through the Wanda Metropolitan as you happily waved at them. The guys looking over at you cheering more and more as you lifted your hands above your head laughing hard.
You loved them and their silliness and they loved you. It was simple and it has worked that way ever sincce you met the guys thanks to you boyfriend, Antoine.
You came to watch the training, it was almost ending so you stepped out of the car and went to wait for them. You always enjoyed watching them play and fool around the pitch
"Y/N, what about you come down here and play?" El Cholo asked with a smile on
"I'm not very good!"
"LIES!" Koke yelled making you all laugh "LAST WEEK YOU KICKED MINE AND MORATA'S ASS!!" You laughed when they started chanting your name for you to go down
You were fan of football and having Grizi as your boyfriend it always meant you were playing either football or basketball in your house, you had gotten way more better thanks to him
When your feet touched the pitch, the guys went over you hugging and greeting you, it has been a little while since you've been over at one of their trainings and they liked having you around since they treated you as one of them too.
"Hola mi vida" You smiled at Antoine who hugged you last after the guys ended their greetings and kissed you softly "Missed you"
"I missed you too" You said smiling "Thought I'd come here to pick you up seeing as training was ending soon, want to come home and snuggle you" You whispered talking against his cheek making him smile
"I'd love that too" He whispered back with a smile "C'mon guys, let's finish this one!" Anto said happily
"Let's play with Y/N"
"I ask for her!" Memphis said quickly as Antoine shakes his head
"My girlfriend, my team!"
"C'mon" You say internally thanking you got a really good sneakers on "Let's see if I can beat you"
"In your dreams"
"Let's see about that, Griezmann" He smiles
In the team you were there was Memphis, Koke, Angel, Rodrigo D.P, Morata and Saúl. Tomas, Axel, Geoffrey, Stefan, Anto and Hermoso in the other.
El cholo whistled and the game started. Making the story short, you ended up doing a doblete and Memphis did another goal while Anto and Hermoso did one each meaning your team won.
"¡ESO!" You guys screamed out as the guys lifted you up and down
"Hey no, wait!" You giggled-yelled with a smile on as they cheered for you.
They left you on the floor after a while but they didn't let Anto get close to you, for as much as he tried, they didn't let him.
You were laughing with them walking to the car, Anto sat on the front of it waiting for you with a serious face on
"Are you guys done?" He asked eyebrows furrowed as all of you fell silent
"Yes" You nod
"We wanted to know if you guys wanted to come to mines to eat some and have a good time"
"Thank you capi but I'm not in the mood today" Anto said to Koke "If Y/N's wants to" You shook your head
"I'm kinda tired too" You said noticing something off on your boyfriend.
"Well, see you guys then" The guys waved goobye as you both got in the car, Anto driving and you in the passenger seat
"Are you okay?" You asked as soon as the car left the Wanda Metropolitan
"The guys seem too fond of you"
"Isn't that a good thing? I get along with your teammates and best friends"
"It is" He nods jaw clenching "But not that much, they didn't even left me get close to you after the game like merde..." He shook his head not believing it
"Were you jealous?" His silence speak for itself "Anto" You said as he looked away
"I like you being friends of my friends, I like you getting along with them what I don't like is them getting too close to you"
"Anto all of them have wives, children, fiancés, girlfriends... And they know I'm your partner, they will never look at me in that way"
"I know" He said shaking his head "I just- I didn't liked the way they pushed me away from you, it's stupid I know but I couldn't help it"
"Well, you don't have to worry about that, mi amor. I like my french man" He smiled lightly "And there's no other man for me than you" You kissed his cheek as he stopped on a red light "I love you, babe"
"I love you, chérie"
