Ranpo can be a little shit at times, but he makes up for it for his good memory and always being able to understand you better than you know yourself.

Example: Ranpo will always remember little things about you! He noticed you staring at a T-shirt in the mall once and suddenly you've got it gifted to you, "from the worlds greatest detective; to my favorite assistant"

A lot of times when you're working in ADA, Ranpo will just hop onto your lap and keep still and silent as he eat snacks.

He loves being in your presence, just being around you is enough.

He's not crazy on PDA, usually holding your hand and dragging you along with him. He'll occasionally tease and embarrass you in public though, most of the time it isn't intentional

What's your favorite trope in thiam fics? (Or in general?)

this ended up being something a lot longer than i meant to be and is less of a fav trope and more of an analysis of how i view them or whatever but like. here have it

theo learning how to cope with life outside of the dread doctors and being viewed as a monster for his actions (which,,, sorry theo ily and i will forever be a theo defender,,, but never an apologist bc wtf bro) and liam understanding him because of what he's done during his ied episodes and the repercussions

liam's reluctant to admit he feels that empathy for him at first because hey!! this guy kind of not only evil but also batshit fucking bonkers!! but he kinda realizes without empathy he loses an aspect of his humanity and when he accepts it he realizes theo was quite honestly just in an incredibly abusive situation and was just trying to survive and became a product of his enviornment (and considering one of the causes of ied is environmental factors i feel like it wouldn't be too far fetched to say liam understands that personally too)

and theos reluctant to admit that he. feels guilty for anything he did. because that means admitting that he did bad things. which when he tries to rationalize makes no sense because he has done bad things and has even enjoyed doing it because his brains a little fucked and he knows that because he's a monster. but being guilty means he's a failure to the dread doctors. and he's already rotten at the edges and the edges are starting to peel away to show a rotten core and that means he's a failure to the mccall pack because they're a bunch of saints (compared to him at least. and if not, well they're on a saints leash) and he's spent so long being anything but a failure because being a failure means being dead and he cannot shake that no matter how hard he tries until he realizes liam sometimes fails at keeping his anger in check but that doesn't make him a failure. and then without even realizing liam starts teaching theo that it's okay to slip up a few times because that's what makes people human and maybe theo doesn't have to be a monster

but when they both accept themselves and the other it leads to a relationship that no one else quite gets (sure, mason has been there for liam his entire life and i cannot stress how much i adore their friendship but sometimes understanding something because you've watched it happen is worlds away from actually experiencing it) at first but it's the sort of thing that just. fits. because they can both push each other to their limits without actually going over (eventually) but also pull each other back when they need a reminder of who they are (people. not monsters.)

tbh i love them cause there's so many different dynamics and tropes that can apply to them but this one,,,,,,,, this one is the one that well and truly wrecks me most of the time. and i don't even think this counts as a trope.

Dollar Tuesday Movies

eddie munson x gn!reader, fluff, 744 words

I haven’t written fluff in a hot minute and was daydreaming about this scenario with my crush today so I figure I’d put it to good use (it's five dollar tuesday's where I'm at but I figure in Hawkins in the 80's $1 seems reasonable (don't @ me idk shit about inflation other than it sucks ass)

literally all fluff: first kiss, first ily, mention of reader having an unspecified dietary restriction (I most likely have PCOS so that was def a self-insert there LOL)

You and Eddie "the freak" Munson have had standing movie nights for the last three Tuesdays in a row, and for an unnumbered amount of Tuesdays in the future. Doesn’t matter what movie is out, Tuesday’s are dollar movie nights at the theater in the town over so you take turns driving there once a week.

Your third movie night has just ended and the two of you are chatting about the film shown tonight as you walk to your car under the streetlight in the parking lot. The conversation continues as you get comfortable in the car. You sit and talk for at least another 10 minutes before there’s a lull long enough for you to move to turn on the engine, but Eddie’s voice stops you.

“Hey, y/n?”

You turn back towards him from how you’d rearranged yourself to face the steering wheel. “Yeah?”

“Have you ever thought about these being dates?”

“I mean they’re our Tuesday Movie Dates aren’t they?” you chuckle, confused at his question.

“I mean date dates.”

You search his face for a moment. All throughout high school, every summer, you hoped that your friendship might grow into something more but decided after a while to just enjoy Eddie as he was and nothing more. There was no point in pining for him if it could ruin your friendship. But you won’t deny that your heart fluttered when he first asked you to go to s dollar movie night, and then wordlessly asked again, and again.

His gaze is heavy on your face as your thoughts race, “y’know what, forget about it.” He laughs it off, “I was just wondering.”

“Yeah,” you breathe. “I’d like them to be date dates,” you hesitate. “If you’d want that too?” 

Eddie smiles wide, “yeah I want that too. Especially because now that we’re on our third date, I can ask if I can kiss you.”

You laugh and smile at the curly haired boy in your passenger seat. “Yeah, you can kiss me.”

And he does, and it’s soft and sweet and short. A perfect first kiss.

It’s been three months since you’re first kiss and two months and two weeks of you “going steady” as Steve put it when he asked what you and Munson were. Tuesday’s are still your dollar movie dates but this Tuesday is Eddie’s birthday so instead of movie night, the two of you are headed two towns over for dinner at a nice restaurant courtesy of Wayne and the gang.

It’s your turn to drive—even though Eddie tried to get rid of that tradition once you two became an official couple—so Eddie is perched in your passenger seat, chatting about the latest DND campaign.

“Oh side note,” he breaks from talking about Dustin absolutely destroying a zombie, “I checked on the menu beforehand to make sure you could eat something there. They have a few options that should be ok and I wrote them down.”

He starts rummaging in the pockets of his jeans and the blazer Robin got for him to wear to the restaurant—not his usual style but it’s a fancier place so he figured he’d oblige.

“Oh my god,” you laugh, holding out your right hand between you, palm up so he can hold it while you drive. “You’re literally so cute, I love you.”

Eddie’s rummaging stalls and you can feel him staring at you. He looks at you as if you hold the sun in your outstretched palm and you finally register the words that just escaped your lips.

You’re terrified that you’ve said those three words too fast, that he doesn’t feel the same, that his lack of response is him ready to open the door and duck and roll out of the car and away from you; but instead, in your peripheral vision you see a wide-toothed grin find a home on his lips, as his left hand softly embraces your right and he pulls your intertwined hands towards his mouth.

He kisses the back of your hand and says,”I love you.”

And you let out the breath you were holding.

“Say it again.”

“I love you, Eddie.”

His smile is still so wide as he says, “I love you, y/n,” and kisses your hand.

There’s never a too. It’s never a just because or a reply to you. It’s his own statement, that he wants to give each and every time.

You know I adore fan!Reader but what if it was Writer!reader??? Like writing fanfiction about Izuku x reader or generally hero x reader and their blog is fairly popular (assuming they use Tumblr bc yes) reader is friends with maybe Denki And Sero through some weird as connections because they‘re just a random ass civilian but keep getting introduced to heros this way

Through that they get a better understanding of the heros personality’s and can write more realistic ffs >:) maybe they‘re Denkis roomie because reader is broke and denki needs someone to care for his pet or something while he’s away- and they‘re writing a Deku x reader fiction right now and then the doorbell rings and they leave their laptop open in the kitchen and get the door- IT‘S DEKU!! They blush and stammer, letting him in saying denki should be home soon

To their demise Deku is met with a life sitze cardboard cutout of Himself (he still towers over it) and reader hurriedly tries to hide it away with the other merch

As they are busy he notices the open laptop, he REALLY didn’t mean to snoop but…holy shit

The things he finds..he blushes and quickly returns to the living space (like living room open kitchen situation yk?) and quietly Sits on the couch, flustered

it’d been hardly two minutes and izuku already got bored (he has autism & adhd, he told me)

so. he did what anyone would do and began to snoop!!

he quietly looked at the pictures hung throughout the apartment— they were mainly just you and denki, it made him wonder if the two of you were together.

while that all happened, your nerves began to settle and you hyped yourself up to go bring him a glass of water— and maybe start a conversation.

“uhm— i thought that maybe, you’d like some water,” you walked in with two cups. he was a little sweaty— and still very red. he stuttered out a ‘thank you’ and basically chugged the water.

“how long have you known denki?” you ask, feeling stupid because, he’s probably known him since UA.

“oh— uhm i’ve known him since we were about… fifteen, i think? what— what about you?” his face was still very red. it started to make you nervous. “we’ve been friends since we were eight… next door neighbors and all that.” he gave a nod and began tapping his foot. his nervousness was rubbing off on you.

“so uh… what’s it like being a hero?” his tapping instantly stopped— and his energy changed. it was like he lit up. “well— it’s different for everyone! for me, it’s amazing. i love being a hero. i love helping people and being able to see their happy faces after rescuing them. i’ve always wanted to make people happy, and save them all with a smile. kind of like all might. now that i’m able to— i feel so full.” izuku smiled, staring at his hands that rested in his lap. “being able to do this all— being able to be a hero— i just feel so happy.” izuku smiled and looked back up, meeting your eyes.

“and, i love getting to meet my amazing fans.” he held a sort of hint in his eyes— almost saying ‘i know’.

A/N: i was missing this fic, huge thank you to @cavillscurls my love thank you for inspiring me and brainstorming with me. ily!

Warnings: anxiety, it’s implied reader’s hiding her scars, doctor stuff, talk of medical exams, Joel being soft.

Joel’s heart sank deep into the pits of his stomach at the sight of you sitting on the examination table wearing an old, wrinkled hospital gown that might have once in its lifetime been white—after twenty-one years, the garment had yellowed. Even from a distance, he could see faint stains of brown on the front of the gown, splatters of blood that the clinic staff failed to get out even after countless washes. “Hey there darlin’,” he said, stepping further inside and gingerly closing the door behind him for some privacy. “The doc’s tellin’ me you’re a little anxious ‘bout the check up she’s gotta do on you. Thought maybe I could come in here and talk to you, see if I can do somethin’ to help make this easier.”

You stared at him with a blank expression.

He couldn’t help noticing the way you held both of your hands behind your back—part of him chalked it up to nothing more than you keeping your gown closed. But another part him knew better, he knew what you were trying to hide from Dawn.

And right now?

“S’alright if I come a bit closer to you?”

The nod you gave him was subtle, but consensual.

His steps towards you were slow, careful.

Gentle, despite the heaviness of his leather boots.

The pet name sent a pleasant chill up your spine.

Almost made you smile.

Still, the thought of having a total stranger, doctor or not, put their hands on you took precedence.

Shoulders slumping, you shot him a pained look.

“Dawn’s willin’ to save the, uh—the feminine exam for another day.” Joel shifted his weight from boot to boot, his ears burning red hot. “But she’s gonna at least need to do a basic physical exam—y’know check your blood pressure and stuff like that. D’ya think she could at least do that?”

Doesn’t sound like I have much of a choice here.

“You won’t have to take off the gown,” he added in hopes it would ease the discomfort. “She said you can keep it on. Means I can stay in here with you—y’know, if you want me to.” Inhaling a deep breath, he held out his hand to you, just like he’d done the night before at the main gate when the hound had been brought out to sniff you for infection.

And just like the night before, he hadn’t expected you to accept it.

And just like the night before, you decided to take him by surprise.

Lower lip trembling, you brought both hands from behind your back, timidly placing them both in his palm, your touch knocking the breath he had been holding right out of his lungs.

I. Takagi Wataru

The Babygirl and Malewife of My Heart Personal Special Tag: #takagi is a good man

Points that I feel need a little elaboration:

I am so normal about them: I use the word "normal" as a synonym for "utterly obsessed with" and "absolutely love and adore". (I don't like the word in itself, hence, the only context I use it in, is this. But that is another story.)

*puts them in a salad spinner*: as in, the salad spinner is my brain, and he keeps rotating in it at high centrifugal force.

Canon isn't real if I don't look at it and That's a solid design right there: Detco Canon is... As much as I love it, I think we can agree it has its shortcomings/issues, and one of them is coming up. These two points go hand in hand at this moment because LOOK AT HIM!!! LOOK AT HIM!!! THIS MAN IS A BABY!!! LOOK AT HIM, HE'S PERFECT!!! THE SPIKY HAIR!!! THE SHAPES!!! THE COLOUR PALETTE!!! HE'S SO CUTE!!

I resonate with this particular video: his new design in the anime (partly thanks to the general Square-and-Pointy-fication) is just... THEY HAD THE PERFECT MAN. IT'S A CRIME. Bless that he is at least still cute in the manga, even if not the same way as in the early anime. The sharp cheekbones and soft looking hair have their charm.

My point is: THIS!!!! MAN!!! IS!!! A BABY!!!!

Literally I would kiss them and I want to BITE them: he makes me go FERAL with LOVE, and makes me feel like I want to gnaw on something or eat a whole fridge or scream endlessly into a pillow. I wouldn't do it to HIM (I'll leave that to Satou Miwako), but generally, the feeling is there. (Okay, I'll be honest, I would totally give him forehead, cheek, or hair kisses.)

LOL I DIDN'T EXPECT TO GET A BINGO, EVEN WITH THE FREE SPACE HAHA

Some points are the same as for Takagi, but here is elaboration on the ones that don't match:

Bastard, A Beast Unleashed and They didn't get bullied enough: let's be real. He's an Absolute Menace. And I sort of love that about him. Highly competent (competency makes me go weak), and if that is not scary (and hot) I don't know what. And sometimes he also goes too far (lifting skirts is not okay at all, Kaito) and needs someone to put a leash on him (or kick a soccer ball at him/chase him in a classroom). I feel that sometimes he needs a bit of bullying a challenge, to think about things. And again, honesty: I love seeing him suffer a bit, I love his Panic Moments LOL. Not in a mean way. But I also love how kind he is; the baseball chapter in the MK manga has my heart, and the Clock Tower Heist, and the Red Tear chapter... Not to mention the Nightmare arc. He cares about people and making others happy. I feel I went on a tangent here. Onto the bastard bit: he CAN BE SUCH A BASTARD AND I LOVE THAT ABOUT HIM TOO. Two of my favourite bits of Bastardry from him include 1) HOW HE DISGUISED AS RAN AND HOW HE BAITED SHINICHI AT THE VERY END OF THAT ENCOUNTER and 2) THE WAY HE SENDS SHINICHI CAREENING IN THE SIDECAR LIKE IT'S NOTHING (but also Shinichi getting right back at him and setting fire to the fckin fuel.) Pure Bastard Energy.

I want their gender: I love the way he is just so free-spirited about how he dresses/disguises. And I love the thought of him and Aoko doing outfit swaps (I blame that competition in MK for these. Also look at these delightful posts on the topic).

Canon isn't real if I don't look at it: I have... issues, with canon, you could say. Like the way he has no support system, especially bothers me. I would like to see his character treated with more care (be it MK or DetCo). I live for good character development, and I crave that for him.

III. Australian Animal of Choice: Koala

Fun fact: I've been in love with koalas ever since I got a keyholder plushie from relatives in Australia when I was like... in kindergarten? Or early elementary? Also don't worry, *puts on sunglasses* I wouldn't have mentioned animals, if I thought I couldn't work with them.

I am so normal about them: I'm not as obsessed as I used to be but I'm eternally fond of koalas. Did you know their fingerprints are so similar to us they could be mistaken for human fingerprints? Or how they spend most of their time sleeping because the eucalyptus they consume is toxic? Or how they can actually swim well? Or how they are literally surviving by being Dumb As Shit because Being Dumb Saves Energy? Yeah, I'm totally normal about them.

A Beast Unleashed: another MENACE OF NATURE. You cannot let him roam free, he finds trouble like it's Breathing. Also love it when he goes ballistic. Or when he shows how competent he is. Like GOD. HE'S AMAZING, and he's a danger to criminals and himself, mostly.

Everyone else if wrong about them: not EVERYONE, just... some people. We agreed with a friend that some of our issues in portrayal lies with the fandom sort assigning him traits that Hakuba has, but not Shinichi (Hakubification). Of course, people can have their fun with it, but it's not for me and have my own opinions on the matter.

Canon isn't real if I don't look at it: again, DetCo has issues. Like the lack of continuity/ erased character development, or not bringing up issues ever again, and the like. Early DetCo was GOOD at these, and I miss those times.

That's a solid design right there and I fuck with this aesthetic so hard: HE IS!!!! SO SHAPED!!!!! SO ROUND!!! (or at least used to be) THE GENTLE CURVES OF HIS FACE!!! THE SILLY HAIR!!!! NOT TO MENTION HIS FCKIN WARDROBE!!!! I'M OBSESSED WITH HIM!!! Also, I have a huge thing for blue eyes and dark hair combination, not to mention the glasses... I'm fckin weak for glasses... god. SQUEAK: sometimes he is just so DUMB I want to SQUISH HIM HARD OR SHAKE HIM. I LOVE HIM, I SO DO, even if he is an idiot at times. God. I love him.
