Character Associations (This actually contains massive spoilers for the show so proceed with caution. Also it’s the longest one yet)

In Life

- Raised in a two up two down on the edge of the city centre. His father wasn’t good to the family and there often wasn’t any money to spare. His mum did odd jobs for the neighbours such as laundry and mending.  Gene got his first job as a paper boy at twelve. 

- By fifteen his father was gone. One night he disappeared without a trace, and it fell to Gene to be the main provider for the family. Leaving school he began to work as an dogsbody in the local police station. Making tea, fetching files and sometimes answering phones. It gave him his first taste of the career he would dedicate his life to. 

- Although there wasn’t a lot of money, Gene was allowed to keep some of his income to spend as he please, and it was with this money he would take his brother, or occasionally a girl, to the cinema, where he developed a love of Westerns. 

-At eighteen he began to train as a Bobby. He was often invited to share drinks with other officers, as most of these men were older, it lead to him to develop a taste for scotch, so he could continue to fit in. 

-In June 1953 it was decided that extra man-power was needed to keep the streets in order during the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. He and his mentor Morrison were sent to the village of Farringfield Green. As it was so quiet Morrison decided he could stop for a tipple....the rest is history. 

In Death

- While living his “life” Gene saw projections on how he felt his world would have changed. His younger brother, in the absence of a positive role model, turned to drugs, leaving his mother broken hearted. 

-After meeting “Mrs Hunt” Gene became adamant the he never wanted children, due to a consuming fear that he would become like his father. Mrs Hunt did want children, which was one of the first cracks in the glass of their relationship. 

-As he grew older he began to form a band of brothers, like they did in Westerns, this group was the most loyal, dedicated team he could ask for. 

-Moving to London after the tragedy of losing Sam proved to be one of his most significant changes. It was in London he met Alex Drake, the women who would make him remember, who would be the first step in helping him find his own peace and also the first person he would ever properly fall in love with.

Ok, I think that’s everything I have to say about Gene. Honestly this is making me want to write a fic about his life before he died, I feel like there’s SO MUCH there.

Hmmm, I like a good challenge. When it comes to Music, I love it so much, hell with the critic in me. Everybody with their own taste: I can listen to the Soundtrack of "Queen of the damned " for days, or anything that can gets my attention, because I am really in mood for something Ghotic, open my senses; or Classical; music from the '60;'70; '80;'90 to present time... Music itself is a joy, pleasure for me: I listen to Music 80% and I put on Mute peoples's lips when they talk to me. On the other side of the story, when it comes to Music industry to acknolwedge facts, the process, history of music, real talent etc. I do take it seriously. If music industry is dead, I read so many articles about it, and I dont want to come to a final conclusion. I am more into Metal/Rock music, I need something strong but refined for my ears, from sound, message that convey etc. However Rock music is not fading. In fact, the entire Music Industry is facing challenges, but it can evolve and adapt to new technology and trends. Over the years, and is true, we got Psychedelic Rock; Garage Rock which led to Prog Rock, Glam Rock, Punk and Heavy Metal in the 70s. Disco came actually as a hybrid of Motown, Soul and Funk .Heavy Metal fused with Glam, to create Hair Metal in the 80s; while Post Punk led to Alternative Rock, at its turn led to Grunge. There is NO new genre that is unique anymore like Rock, Pop and Jazz. The major labels usually abandon a genre or subgenre when it stops selling and moves on to the new genre or subgenre. But Hip Hop is the only genre making the record labels real money once the Trap subgenre startes to fade away. But cause of this, the Record labels will have NO sound to make the best new thing because with every genre of music today, there is NO new sound, are just Variations on Older sounds. While many Factors contribute, in the past the most succesful and significant record labels were run by men who Owned them: Herp Alpert and Jerry Moss (A@M); Richard Branson (Virgin); Steve Ross (Warner) etc. But these visionaries were bought out and companies taken over by Wall Street, Media, who in turn forced cost controls, beauracracy, revenue goals into ecosystem. Get my point? Casting hundred of promising recording artists, but not selling enough at that moment, to justify the expense of their contracts, where this lead?! By increasingly risk averse, decisions filling the VOID, we are getting... that right, and its means really talented career artists, as result a Minority approaching extiction. It is true mainstream music today LACKS creativity. It was an Era of Ultra Sophisticated Audio Technology. Every period in Music History always have historic filters and the industry itself kept the names of those who TRANSCEND..For the rest, you are just one hot thing for the moment (a couple of week, months) and then over. There is so much to say from CD, sales, to touring, music broad cast on the radio, record companies and sheet music manufactures, good royalty and licensing scheme, based on station revenues, to book an Arena for a week just to cut travel expenses etc. Sometimes a Solo project can make more money. There is a limited set of notes. Now, I challenge you to have an Infinite number of possibillities with the notes. In Music, is No deny and nobody can make a compartion with such born talents: Jimi Hendrix, Tupac, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Bob Marley, Selena, Freddie Mercury, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Elvis, Led Zepplin, Whitney Houston etc.

I'm listening to Gaeilge radio from Ireland and there's a college-age ish sounding young man speaking Gaeilge while "Spanish Flea" by Herp Alpert and the Tijuana Brass play in the background and this is honestly such a surreal experience I have no idea what's going on now

I like listening to Brazilian Portuguese music (It's very beautiful and wonderful to listen to like Jorge Ben, Maria Bethânia, Toquinho, Walter Wanderley, Seu Jorge, Toco, Vinícius Moraes, João Gilberto and other great Brazilian artists), Espanol (I'm learning a few words from it and it's good to hear even ones from Mexico, Central America and Spainsh South American countries like Inti Illimani, Los Calchakis, Ocote Soul Sounds, and other Latin artists), Jazz (Herp Alpert and Tino Contreras are great to hear along with the great Dave Brubeck and others), Some Chill music (Saib., jhfly, 90sFlav, nymano and others are cool to listen to and I recommend them alot) and recently Funk (Quantic Soul Orchestra and Quantic and his Combo Barbaro are awesome), Classical (My favorite of all which helps me relax my mind).

I deeply recommend them alot and I have a playlist on my account on YouTube and SoundCloud where their songs still are along with other genres of music.

sharing music tastes should be one of the most friendly and casual things in the world but instead people gotta be superior dickheads and then also project that onto you, so now “what music do you like” is a deeply stressful question because if it’s obscure someone will call you out for being a poseur hipster and if it’s not someone will call it vapid. I can’t imagine something more unnecessarily rude than seeking someone out to tell them their taste in music sucks, fuck you
