so do u think the emperor of The Double has just resigned himself at this point, to the irrefutable truth that his partner in nation building & court schemes is now spending 85% of his energy pondering & stalking a relatively attractive and talented noblewoman that his top scholar had married and then buried alive a few months ago.
and now said partner in crime just brings him exponentially unhinged plans of action that are OBVIOUSLY in service of his yearning for this lady, but that he's ready to defend with 45 minutes of rhetoric about how it's totally in the best interest of your majesty and the country.

*The poly finally reunite after Lilith's 7 year long absence.*
Imagine King Lucifer Morningstar practically storming in the halls of the Morningstar Mansion, his full demon form slowly coming to fruition with every step he takes toward the master bedroom. Over his broad shoulders are a flustered Queen of Hell herself on one and their shared concubine on the other, the latter possessing a simple grin, expecting this reaction from the fallen angel.
Lucifer: We have to make up for lost time together, all 3 of us. An hour for every year that you were gone, Lili.
Lilith: 7 hours? I've missed you both dearly, but isn't that a bit much?
Concubine!Reader: Luci opted for 7 days at first, but I convinced him to show you mercy, seeing as it has been a while since we've had a taste of you.

Headcanon meme: A Yuan (real name not working right now)
Well A-Yuan isn't not a real name, assuming you've attached it to the right (fictional) character. His birth name was Wen Yuan, and then his adopted name was Lan Yuan. Which looks like he kept the personal name but iirc Lan Wangji had never seen it written down, and everyone who might have known the spelling was dead, so he wound up picking a different (written chinese) character. So it's a whole new name.
And then his formal grown up name is Lan Sizhui. Which is probably the name you wanted.
Headcanon 1:  Realistic
Very realistic, I do not think Sizhui is formally adopted as Lan Wangji's son. It would be neater if he was, but I don't think in that case he would say that Hanguang-jun had been 'like a father and a brother' to him. He'd just say he was his father.
The Lan did not allow Lan Wangji, disgraced and maimed, to put this child of dubious provenance down on the paperwork as his immediate family. Sizhui does have the name and is probably in the clan somehow, but he has not had parents since the ones that created him were killed, and he doesn't even know who those were. Neither Wei Wuxian nor Lan Wangji is legally his father, or has ever claimed the title.
This point is vaguely enough addressed that there's space for other interpretations, so this counts as a headcanon.
Headcanon 2: May or not be realistic, is definitely funny (at least to me)
Going forward, Sizhui is the only person who can consistently make Jiang Cheng feel bad about himself without triggering any kind of violence.
Not that Jiang Cheng is incapable of losing his temper with Sizhui or anything if he wants to, but Sizhui has a knack for slipping right past the places where he'd normally get reflexively outraged enough that he didn't have to allow the thing he didn't like much space in his mind. So he feels bad, and would have to acknowledge that he's getting mad to distract himself from that, on purpose, so it wouldn't work very well.
Headcanon 3: Evil and heart-breaking why would you do this
Oh I have one of these already on tap for this kid! :} Okay so, time is very loosey-goosey and vague in mdzs. And we know nothing whatsoever about A-Yuan's birth parents other than that his father's surname was Wen, of the Wen clan of Qishan; possibly a fairly close relation of Wen Qing and Wen Ning's, though not necessarily.
(They were the children of Wen Ruohan's favorite paternal cousin, and thus second cousins to his sons, but Wen Qing was a favorite so it was in practice more like being first cousins. Not that Mandarin distinguishes those degrees of kinship like that, any more than English automatically tells you which parent someone's related through.)
But if you cut the war down to the low end of its potential runtime and assume Wen Chao went home to check in with his dad (Wen Ruohan) at some point between throwing Wei Wuxian into the Burial Mounds to avoid the risk of his ghost coming after him for revenge, and Wei Wuxian catching up with him anyway a few months later...it's totally possible that Wen Yuan was in fact Wen Chao's legitimate (posthumous) son.
Wen Chao canonically had a wife. He canonically fucks. He evidently didn't much like his wife, but getting a kid on her was expected of him; dropping in to try when he happened to be in town wouldn't be unlikely.
That's not the awful part of the headcanon though; that's mostly sort of funny, sort of dramatic and even a little bit of a fix, in that no one should feel bad for ignoring the existence of a parent like Wen Chao so no need to worry about that, just act like he had only two father figures ever.
No matter whose kid A-Yuan is, there'd be decent odds Wei Wuxian killed that person horrifically, even if he didn't torture them to death in a horrible extended campaign of vengeance. He killed a lot of men surnamed Wen during the war. He knows he might have killed A-Yuan's father, but what's the point in dwelling on that?
The evil part is that in this Wen Chao scenario, I am presuming that the reason Wei Wuxian knows nothing whatsoever of A-Yuan's dead parents is not just that he did not ask. It's that Wen Ning and Wen Qing et al deliberately avoided the subject.
He couldn't be trusted with that information. What if he changed his mind? Wei Wuxian wouldn't care that A-Yuan was the last direct descendant of the otherwise extirpated Wen main bloodline the way the Jin would have, but he might care about Wen Chao specifically, and you are just not gonna take the chance of flipping the guy keeping you alive back into murder mode.
And especially you're not going to risk the baby.
Headcanon 4: Doesn't align with canon (or maybe even reality) but I do what I want
Mmmmmm let's see, how about Sizhui does get adopted after all later on, after Wei Wuxian has had time to wear the Lan down, and then Xichen never has kids and the chips fall so Sizhui winds up Sect Leader Lan.
Which is the point at which someone leaks that he's the only survivor of the Burial Mounds Wen enclave! He's invalid! The Lan must have a succession crisis immediately!!!!!
(Not unlikely the leading challenger in this scenario would be Jingyi, which feels like trying to hype a Serious Duel To The Death when the combatants are holding pool noodles, in that there is simply no way I can imagine either of them growing up into someone who could be persuaded to hurt the other over a matter of inheritance.)
But then the public get the idea that A-Yuan was in fact Wei Wuxian's biological kid (with ?????Wen Qing presumably????) and decide that adopting a stepson isn't even scandalous really, and lose interest. Because the Yiling Patriarch has by this point rendered himself passé as a subject of drama by just kind of being around for 20 years and mostly only getting into funny trouble, and the Wen Sect are even less scary because that was all ages ago, and anyway (say random uncles knowingly) what else is a gay man supposed to do for heirs?
Can you imagine Lan Wangji with a concubine.

Hi 👋 love your Apothecary Dairies X Dr Stone cross over. Soooooo~ much. 🤩
I just had one question?
Is it just Senku or do we see the rest of the science kingdom in the picture.
(Because having Kohaku trying to blend in at the palace would be hilarious. 😅 Gen would be suffering.)
Thank you for liking it!!! I'll make more snippets for it posthaste o7
As for other members of the KoS.. Senku creating the revival fluid is actually a major part of the story, with him perfecting that formula being the thing that earns him a lot of respect. Bc that is straight up wizard shit.
I'm horrible w OCs being Important, so it would only stand to reason that the people being revived would be canon petrified humans, a lot of whom are KoS members.
My first solid candidate is actually Minami!!! (the journalist who loved photography)
The idea is that Senku demonstrates the revival fluid on a couple random statues to interested nobility. Then when they ask about ppl who are good at medicine/architecture/other fields senku has mentioned as being heavily advanced, he admits he couldn't identify such people. Then suggests a reporter who had been interviewing him for science-prodigy reasons around the time of the Petrification Event, who would totally know how to find these specialists. Thus introducing Minami.
For Kohaku, now that you've mentioned it, I'm thinking of having her seek out Maomao's adoptive father to help with Ruri's illness. Except he tells her that there isn't any cure for pneumonia, just things that can lessen the pain before she dies.
This could happen before Maomao's abduction, so when she returns with Lihaku a year later, she finds Ruri is??? Completely fine????? At which point it's explained that Senku helped Kohaku make antibiotics for her. Which is what would put him on Maomao's radar.
(this plot thread also puts forth the idea of Senku and Kohaku traipsing through secluded hot spring areas only for nobility while on the hunt for sulfuric acid. and possibly meeting someone very important and very reclusive who doesn't like being identified and is already having harrowing experiences w a scientist who likes throwing herself into poison's way. im just saying that would be really funny-)
Kohaku's inclusion immediately suggests Chrome, too. But I'll be real, Maomao already has the "guy who can use local resources in practical scientific methods" market cornered. Better than Chrome does, even. So,,, he likely won't be here.
Gen. Ah, Gen. Remember what I keep saying abt Senku having no fucking manners and that cutting his plans for all the money he needs to do his projects off at the knees bc the entire chain of communication is doing everything in their power to keep him from talking directly to even a mid-ranked noble??? That's no longer an issue once Gen is here. A hundred different attendants sigh in relief. Gen is having a panic attack and doing an illiant-bray job at hiding it. Senku thinks it's lowkey hilarious.

this relationship between the emperor and his favorite concubine is something else. because apparently she was his DAD'S concubine and she reminds him of his mom...he's like you're the only connection i have to my mother (presumably because she was friends with his mom, because they were concubines of the same guy, and because after his mom died she used to take care of him and make him the food his mom used to make him because she "loves children") and i'm sitting there like 😬 ok where are we going with this. then i get to the end of the show and discover they weren't going anywhere with it in particular. they were just like, we want this guy to have a mommy complex and we want you to know about it. okay. thanks i guess...

i’ve been watching apothecary diaries and I do not like this man who seems to be romantically interested in a 14-year-old, like I know it’s ancient China and this isn’t even the largest age gap relationship in the show, but he’s weird and I don’t like him!

One thing I don't think is talked enough about when it comes to a lot of the antagonist in the series, it's how a lot of them tend to dehumanize/see the demigods as much lesser than.
Not to say the gods don't, but not in the same way the antagonist do I feel like.
Khione(and her brothers) I think is one the most obvious examples to this, freezing and keeping the demigods as living statues is literally discussed hdgdg
Even with Midas, he literally keeps living golden statutes including his own daughter.
At least one of the Giants brings up keeping one of the demigods after they win iirc.
Being seen more like a possession or piece on a board is very common throughout the series. It's definitely obvious with Jason, who's seen as Juno's and Rome's. In a way both Jason and Leo are treated like attack dogs to both Hera and Gaea, it's just Jason's the one Hera could get to heel.
Yet Hera still let's them make connections and walk freely. And she cares enough to grieve when Jason dies. I mean the bar is in Tarturus at this point but hsgdg
Idk. Something is just a lot more unsettling with how the antagonist(like the giants and Khione) talk about the demigods. I think it because they pretty much are claiming demigods like war prises. Which goes back around to something I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before, but the comparison between old versus new. Because, yeah, the gods still stuck in many places, but there's certain aspects most of them had changed in.
For all the demigods that exist, most of them came from genuine connection between the god and mortal parent. There's multiple examples of gods even returning to have another kid with said mortal parent. Many gods seem to think fondly of the mortals they've been with(Aphrodite is outright concerned for Piper's father mental health if he found out about her. )
Not to say that didn't happen in the classics, but there seems to be more of that. Though could be because Rick didn't want to have anything too close to the other subjects in the books. But then he also has antagonist talk about keeping demigods in collections and literally human trafficking so gdgdg
But yeah, there seems to be less kids sired from less then healthy situations. And that also could be because Rick just didn't want to make modern versions of stuff like Achilles' orgins where Zeus had a guy wrestle Thetis down and marry her so her son wouldn't be too powerful. Or any of Zeus' children's origins really.
But the gods tend to have closer connections to mortals and demigods, both hades and Poseidon offer solace in their home to mortal lovers, and don't force it when they decline. Their interactions with mortals/ demigods are down to earth, they only appear to them in full form on Olympus with the other gods or in their realms.
The exception is probably Zeus, who hardly ever comes down from Olympus to talk to anyone.
But he's Zeus, so.
The antagonist however very much address the demigods in a way less down to earth. Making it much more known how powerful they are. Anytime they meet Khione outside her father's place? She's showing off her powers.
The Titans are always large, towering over the demigods. Kronos cares so little about demigods he doesn't even bat an eye when he knocks over his own off the bridge in tlo.
And as I mentioned, many times is idea of keeping demigods as war prises brought up. And that's not new in relation to Greek classics.
The Trojan War was a whole mess of taking women as war prises. Not just Helen being kidnapped but Chryseis,Briseis,Andromache-(honestly, any woman Agamemnon interacted with oh my gods-)
Even men were taken as slaves. It was a normality in war(at least Trojan War wise). If you weren't killed you were taken. Change is important point in each book, how much modern times views being a hero and finding yourself differ from before. How they can mend broken ties and be better then those before them. How they fight for others rather then themselves and pride.
Why the worst antagonist often fight for power, they manipulate and take. They want to be at the top of the world, to be noticed/worshipped. And they do anything to get there.
They see the war as gloryful and a way to reach the top. The demigods see it as trying to live another day. To protect those around them, even desperately trying to save others on the other side.
Idk why, just the whole thing interest me. I think it's also fun idea to explore in a sense.i mean I'm sure there's plenty of Kronos/Giants wins aus, but something about delving into the way that'll effect the survivors intriguing to me.
I think it kinda can be used as a metaphor? At least being looked down on. Feeling like you're being told to dance and entertain sometimes comes with being Neurodivergent. I mean heck, Jason is a walking example of learning to mask so hard you forget who you were underneath. Being dehumanized by those around you.
So something about the heroes fighting help others belong why the villains fight to possess and control everything to their liking feels about right for a series focused on those with disabilities
