Grattan's Parliament was the funniest period of Irish political history imo. nobody had any idea what was going on. they gave Grattan £50000 cos he made a speech they liked. they won "legislative independence" but nobody on any side could explain what the fuck that meant. Henry Flood tried to fight a duel with Grattan (who was a member of his own political party) over the definition of legislative independence but was arrested on the way to the duel. Lord Edward Fitzgerald was in his weird politician era. Grattan would wear the uniform of a paramilitary force he was part of to give speeches. everyone was figuratively throwing tomatoes at Edmund Burke. someone literally threw a cat at Lord Castlereagh at one point. what a fucking time to be alive

The contrast between "Henderson calmly and happily writing a letter to Martha like he usually does" cut to "Barely holding it together from intense fear and regret" its soooo good.

I love how we can't see his face on the second frame. He probably looks calm. But the raw EMOTION of sketchy strokes on his hands and subtle splashes of ink from the pen, the repeated "come back". I love it so much!!!!!

It's such an intense emotion and it shown with just a part of a hand and a pen. Genius.

random firewatch the game thought but toward the beginning of the game, when you have to find your way back to the tower after telling off the teen girls (you know when u have to go through the cave and see the mysterious person)

there is explicitly stated to be a storm coming and you can hear the thunder, and you're required to take a path through the canyon to get home. and on my first playthrough i was CONVINCED that it was going to start raining and that there was a flash flood risk. i was like??? why are we going into this narrow canyon right before a storm?? people Die this way??? people Drown by being in slot canyons in storms??? only for it to be nothing but ambiance basically

#i dont really think henry is a pov character who would know about flash flooding though LOL #but i was very tense during this.....for an entirely unrelated reason than the game wanted me to sdlfjdsklfjsl
