Can we get four headcanons about Helena Sinclair?

Realistic

Helga Sinclair wants her children to be educated and have a solid start of life; she taught them a lot of things, and finds textbooks for them.

You know, history books about dictatorships, failed and thriving civilizations, the Art of War, guerilla war tactics, how to mix your own Molotov in few easy steps...

Helena decided she likes psychology and psychiatry. She doesn't differentiate between rhose as long as it teaches her neat tricks to manipulate people. Or allows her to figure out what the fuck is wrong with the majority of Isle people.

Yes, she explained what narcissism is to Mother Gothel. Fortunately for Helena, Gothel was teaching a class (which was originally about Yzma, but that lasted about two minutes before Mother Gothel started talking about her favourite topic. Herself.) Consequently, Mother Gothel didn't hear a word of what Helena said.

One of her favourite hobbies is saying „Hmm mommy//daddy issues,“ every time she thinks someone is being annoying.

Unrelated, but she is a pretty good runner.

Unrealistic but funny

She's an OC, there is no such thing as unrealistic.

Once she lent her gun to CJ.

Wait, yeah, it is unrealistic: in the regard that she survived after Harriet and Harry learned she gave a gun to CJ.

Also Uma and Sammy Smee and Anthony Tremaine.

There is a reason the Hooks aren't allowed guns, okay?!

Freddie though it was funny though and offered her an azyl.

Heartbreaking

She is jealous of CJ Hook.

You see, Helga Sinclair saw tiny gremlin child CJ Hook (way more feral and willing to do pretty much anything for attention and out of spite) and thought „Wow. This baby can fit so much chaos.“

So she decided to basically adopt CJ as an "auntie" and teach her even more ways to create chaos. Also how to get away with murder.

Helga Sinclair has lot of enemies on the Isle and in Auradon. And she is absolutely encouraging CJ to, ehm, get creative. (It's fine. Murder is a bonding activity.)

But yeah, Helena can get jealous of the attention CJ recieves from her mom. She also spent way too much time thinking about why she feels that way and she hates her conclusions, thank you for asking.

Upon leaving the Isle, she took one (1) look at Ben & Audrey and began "diagnosing" them.

The words "Daddy//mommy issues" were said.

It was mostly an excuse to rant about King Beast anyway.

Also, she is one of the very few people that seeks out the company of both Hooks and Hearts. Anthony Tremaine thinks she is absolutely insane for that.

He had told her so one time.

She looked around the room, in which were his cousins or maybe Ginny or anyone really, pointed a finger straight at his chest, and said: „Saviour complex.“

He shut up.

It’s in the air

(As I said before, the differences between the Thor of Norse mythology and Marvel’s Thor aren’t just narrative but also cultural. In the sense that Norse mythology’s more deeply embedded among present day Scandinavians than it is among Jewish Americans, so even if it’s not always a straight adaptation it’s still going to be more Scandinavian than whatever attempts to make Marvel’s Thor Norse ever would.

This got me into thinking about the differences between DC’s Wonder Woman and actual Greek culture, I feel if an actual Greek person wrote a Wonder Woman it would feel more Greek than if it was written by somebody who isn’t. At best, from the standpoint of Greek culture, Wonder Woman’s an American view of what a Greek superhero could be. 

Not so much a Greek superhero as conceived by actual Greeks, though if it does exist it would turn out differently from any American attempts at creating a Greek superhero. Sometimes those American-made international superheroes play into stereotypes, DC’s Ice is Norwegian and accordingly has ice powers. It’s not that Norway is really warm in real life.

But she’s more of an American idea of what a Norwegian superhero would be like, not so much a creation by actual Norwegians. Likewise, Wonder Woman is a Greek superhero, but one who’s often made to be out of step with the rest of the (Anglophone-Protestant) world. There might be other Greek superheroes in DC who don’t fit this mold but it’s still telling.

As for Helena Bertinelli, she’s pretty much an American’s idea of an Italian superheroine. Scratch that, she’s an Anglo-Saxon American’s idea of an Italian American woman well at times. Now compare this to Guardiani Italiani, an actual comic book series featuring a team of Italian superheroes as conceived by actual Italians. I feel there’s going to be an Italianness missing in Bertinelli.

For another matter, Scotland has Saltire. Because he’s conceived by actual Scots, that he’s going to be more Scottish than Marvel’s Rahne Sinclair will ever be. It’s really got more to do with one’s cultural upbringing that makes somebody Scottish or Swedish in a way American attempts at such characters don’t work. Simply because they weren’t brought up in those cultures.

Jace Badun does not like Helga Sinclair.

The rest of the BDA don't really like her either.

She left Harry and his twin sister, Mable, on the doorstep of de Vil Manor when they were a year old. Left Harry in a house where he outlived most of his siblings and cousins. Where he outlived Mable and ended up living in a treehouse.

She didn't know.

But that doesn't make it any easier for them to let go of the anger they all hold on Harry's behalf.

You didn't shatter , hide, or paint over all the mirrors in the house when he couldn't look at them anymore anymore after Mable died or make sure he ate, sleep, and took care of himself. You didn't make him take responsibility for anything. You didn't keep him alive, I DID!"

(Jace is the muscle of the group but that doesn't mean he doesn't know where to verbally hit you where it hurts like the others do. He may prefer being peacekeeper, but that doesn't mean he won't duel out any verbal jabs when he has to.

Helga Sinclair might not have known about Harry, Hunter, and Mable's suffering but that doesn't mean Jace is gonna forgive her so easily for having left in the first place.

It doesn't mean he'll forgive her for keeping her other two kids (Holiday and Helena) in the main universe or forgive her for keeping them, ONTOP of keeping her and Hades son (Alex Sinclair-Aoratoes) in the Hannah Hook verse just as easily.

He's angry and he's not afraid to show it when Harry's not there.

" Jace is right " Carina stated . " You may have given birth to him , but you're not his real mom. "

" Yeah , and sides what kinda of person leaves their son with an animal killer !" Lampwick chimed in angrly .

" you should have made sure he went to a good home " Bria added with disappointment in Harry's mom .

Okay so heres my idea for if VKs grew up in Auradon

Villians Family wouldn't be allowed to have their respective villian's kid but could have anothers

This means no Ginny with Rapunzel, Evie with Snow White, or Tremaines with Cinderella

A workaround for this within royal families is to just give the villian kid a title

So we have Princess Ginny, Princess Evie, Prince Anthony, and a very controversial Princess Mal

There is some fighting in Atlantica to give Uma a title

How the VKs are spread out is similar to a Foster Care system so unless the parents took in siblings, they don't know they have siblings

Twins are typically separated, just look at Uma and Freddie, this makes Squeaky and Squirmy very special

In my version, the Hook siblings, De Vil cousins, and Tremaine cousins all know that they have family and keep in touch with them

The Hooks all live with the same foster family

Auradon still isn't perfect. The family is abusive

Harriet still has a drinking problem, she just picked it up from their mom

Jay lives in Agarbah with the Genie

He has to learn how to control his magic

For the more notorious villians a.k.a the kids we see in the movies or shows, the do have to attend Aurdon Prep

Any other VK that is rich enough can attend as well, so Ginny, Anthony, and Helena Sinclair all go

That's what I can think of right now and the bases of it

Okay fic idea in bullet points for Reasons:

It's after D2

Uma meets CJ while on the run

CJ is like thirteen and absolutely convinced that her older brother and Uma are in love. She's also a major menace to society

They also pick up Arabella of Atlantica. Who should be also thirteen or so for the purposes of this fic. A bit of a menace with a tiny bit of a corruption arc.

But she's very easily convinced by CJ that there's True Love going on

So Uma just has two menaces chatting about her future wedding 24/7 while discussing increasingly unhinged plans to overthrow the government. But, y'know. Uma's love life takes priority.

Uma loses her nerves within two weeks at most

And (with Arabella's help) steals the trident. Which allows them to slip on the Isle.

Cue Huma reunion, Hook siblings reunion, and Arabella who now gets to be a menace to society in previously unapproachable ways

(Ehm, she CJ and Helena Sinclair playing matchmakers for as many Isle kids as possible)

And then Uma gets the Isle kids on the ships & not actively murdering and hurting eachother (unless it's consensual tho) and they sail off to the sunset ✨✨

And no one in Auradon knows because they're still trying to see a sea witch underwater. From land. And expecting to succeed.

- vinny pees with the light off and scares everyone by accident

- bo re-enacts the mcr helena music video at the church

- bo loves the goodfellas and wishes he was born in ny/nj and in the mob

- v & b listen to lana del rey

- all three drag race through the town

- vinny loves phantom of the opera

- they love mcdonnalds, vinny gets a happy meal

- vinny watches/makes those egg shell peeling live streams on tiktok

- bo has an ingrown toe nail and be complainingggg about it. vin is trying to convince him to make a video for tiktok of them removing it bc it will get so many views

- vinny has cats in the workshop that bo doesn't know about

seems like ben managed to smoothly reclaim his territory. you might think him a fool to put up with helenas indiscretions and even sometimes with her infidelity, but he had both eyes open. tristan however, felt a particular sting when he witnessed their kisses. it wasn’t jealously - at least not because of him. he simply wanted what they had: a working, loving relationship and a family... or so he thought. cause up until this point, all tristan had tried to built with hayley was pretty much doomed.
