Are Probiotics the Secret to Natural and Clear Skin?
Are Probiotics the Secret to Natural and Clear Skin?
“Probiotics are a game-changer for creating gorgeous skin because when we foster a healthy microflora, our digestion improves, including our elimination of potentially aging, skin-dulling toxins, and we can improve the absorption of beauty nutrients.” – Kimberly Snyder, Celebrity Nutritionist If you’ve had any issues with acne, you’ll consider bacteria in your face as being a negative thing (and…

Yeah my incubator is goner I assisted two chicks and they are both alive but the little chocolate I think is going to pass away. The other more lively one still needs to absorb their yolk but if they would have stayed in the egg they would have passed away. I did eggtospys on the other eggs and the babies all looked perfect- they just didn't absorb their yolks which points to an incubator issue.

Gosh I hope Frida's new design means we'll get to see her having a Kaisa parallel arc. I hope we see her building her magic and her confidence like they're one and the same. I hope whatever happened to Kaisa to make her so repressed and insecure, happens to Frida so she gets to take the exact opposite path. Now that she saw what happens when you grow up worried about disappointing the person who raised you and not living up to the expectations of those around you, I hope we see her letting it all go and choosing herself. God, I hope she takes Kaisa's "I'm not the witch you taught me to be" and bends it into "I'm the person I want to be" with her own bare hands. I hope for it so hard.

Common food preservative has unexpected effects on the gut microbiome
"Food manufacturers often add preservatives to food products to keep them fresh. The purpose of these preservatives is to kill microbes that could break down and otherwise spoil the food. Common additives like sugar, salt, vinegar and alcohol have been used as preservatives for centuries, but modern-day food labels now reveal more unfamiliar ingredients such as sodium benzoate, calcium propionate, and potassium sorbate.
Bacteria produce chemicals called bacteriocins to kill microbial competitors. These chemicals can serve as natural preservatives by killing potentially dangerous pathogens in food. Lanthipeptides, a class of bacteriocins with especially potent antimicrobial properties, are widely used by the food industry and have become known as "lantibiotics" (a scientific portmanteau of lanthipeptide and antibiotics).
Despite their widespread use, however, little is known about how these lantibiotics affect the gut microbiomes of people who consume them in food. Microbes in the gut live in a delicate balance, and commensal bacteria provide important benefits to the body by breaking down nutrients, producing metabolites, and—importantly—protecting against pathogens. If too many commensals are indiscriminately killed off by antimicrobial food preservatives, opportunistic pathogenic bacteria might take their place and wreak havoc—a result no better than eating contaminated food in the first place.
A new study published in ACS Chemical Biology by scientists from the University of Chicago found that one of the most common classes of lantibiotics has potent effects both against pathogens and against the commensal gut bacteria that keep us healthy."

Why You Should Never Wear Outdoor Shoes Indoors
Many people don’t think twice about wearing their outdoor shoes inside their homes. But this habit can lead to an influx of germs and bacteria. Public sidewalks, parks, and floors are often teeming with microscopic life that can hitch a ride on the soles of your shoes. A recent experiment by cleaning and organization expert Dena O’Neill highlighted the disturbing reality of what we may be…

i find signs of injury so interesting, because usually the signs are what’s keeping the body safe, like when your fingers get ice cold or frost bitten it’s actually your body just trying to keep the important organs alive, or when our heart speeds up, even unhealthily so, it’s usually to try to get more blood pumping around our body. even the act of being in pain is your body trying to signal to the brain “HEY SOMETHINGS WRONG DOWN HERE YOU BETTER SAVE US” because, technically speaking, your body’s the one putting itself in pain, with nerves and all that. this can be poetic i think i just haven’t thought hard enough about it.

Role of the gut microbiome in weight management
This article is originally published on Freedom from Diabetes website, available here. The gut microbiome (GM), a vast community of microorganisms residing in our digestive tract, plays a crucial role in weight management and overall health. Recent research has shed light on the intricate relationship between these microorganisms and our body's ability to maintain a healthy weight.
Tumblr media
How Your Microbiome Impacts Weight Management
Nutrient Absorption: The GM aids in the digestion and absorption of nutrients from the food we consume. It can influence how efficiently our body extracts calories from food.
Metabolism Regulation Gut bacteria can impact our metabolic processes, including the breakdown of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins.
Appetite Regulation: Some gut bacteria produce hormones and signaling molecules that influence our appetite and satiety.
Inflammation: A healthy GM helps maintain a balanced immune system and reduces inflammation.
5.Energy Storage: Some gut bacteria may influence how the body stores and utilizes energy. Imbalances in the gut microbiome can lead to higher fat storage, especially around the abdomen.
To know more about their impact on Gut-Brain Axis, Hormone Regulation, Short-Chain Fatty Acids, Prebiotics and Probiotics, please visit our Article.
In conclusion, a healthy gut microbiome is crucial for weight management. An imbalanced microbiome can lead to weight gain and metabolic issues. To support a healthy microbiome, eat a fiber-rich diet, use probiotics, limit unnecessary antibiotics, and manage stress. Hiding health stuff from my loved ones
I recently developed hypochondria and started obsessively reading articles online and seeing doctors behind my mom and sister's back.
Honestly it's going to send me down a downward spiral. Me seeing doctors who recommend things that don't even work or are not needed and escalate things and me not having the emotional support I need because I've been hiding things from my mom and sister, so I feel trapped and stressed and feel like I'm so sick but cannot get the support I need. If anything, my mom's pieces of health advice have helped me way more than any doctor I've seen, even the experienced functional ones.
