Everything was irritating. The class you had was canceled last minute, the crowd at the train station was loud, the tapping of a kid in a window was constant, and the message you received asking for your campus ID to keep using your student account was sudden and required immediate action. Your cramps and migraine only aggravate everything.
You were steps away from the stairs when you stopped to take the damn picture of your ID and be done with that. But of course, you couldn’t find your wallet at first glance, so you moved aside to take a better look.
You worried about kneeling and ruining your black coat with the dirtiness of the floor at the station, but at the same time, you thought it was just stupid.
A trail of curses flooded your mind as you tried to find your wallet, making you oblivious to a random man walking in your direction.
“Excuse me, Miss… Would you like to play Ddakji?” Said the man asked you in Korean. You were occupied with a hand inside your thrifted designer tote, and your mind unconsciously prepared an answer in English.
“Sorry, I don’t have time” When you realized your mid-answer you sighed, just as you fished out your wallet. “For every win of yours, you’ll earn a great sum of cash”
Once you stood up, you met the face of the man who now answered in English as well. Very tall, handsome, innocent smile and in a suit; a businessman. You knew it was wrong to judge but there was something behind the smile he offered you that resulted eerie.
Like behind that seemingly blameless expression, the man was hiding his true intentions.
Might’ve been your eyes or hair that caught his attention. You weren’t native, and he didn’t want to think he could take advantage, yet his feet dragged him to you.
Placing your bag over your shoulder again, you grab your glasses and phone with tangled EarPods. You give the man one last look. You are not having a good day and you don’t have time to deal with this.
“What do you say?” He asks feigning kindness, eyeing you subtly without your knowledge.
“No, thank you. I don’t even know how the game works”
“You look like you are a natural. You might be surprised if you try. You just have to pick a color and try to flip the opposing tile”
The rich always trying to fuck the one who isn’t. This was just a new way. The urge to roll your eyes grew but you remained still.
“Look, I’m sorry. But I bet you do this just to see how desperate people who need money can go. I won’t be one of them. If not, sorry for misjudging you” you harshly say before putting on your EarPods and leaving the station. You leave him perplexed, huffing in disbelief and igniting a fire of curiosity inside him.
And you completely forgot about the Ddakji man as you made it to your little apartment, not knowing he would turn upside down your upcoming days.
…
Warm days in winter were exciting for you. They boosted your energy and made you want to be out all day.
You had the luck of living in a beautiful complex because it was once from a friend of your mother who married years ago and now had her single apartment for rent.
It had long warm hallways that hosted at least eight apartments by floor. With orange and pink subtle lights and uneven edges. It was truly a sight despite how little the apartments were. One bedroom with closet and bathroom, a tiny studio, small kitchen, enough space for a dining table, another small bathroom, and a half sized living room with balcony.
Your loneliness was well-balanced because you loved your home. But even on warm days, you wanted to be out.
Your red shoes contrasted with everything you stepped on. You carried a bag with a bunch of books and another one with thrifted clothes you bought.
At the park you always walked by, there was a fair amount of people as usual. You don’t care much to look around but someone makes you stare longer than needed.
The same man who asked if you wanted to play a game at the station was in the park. Another impeccable suit dressing him, looking attractive like the first time and already looking at you.
He offered you a smile, to which you didn’t reply. You looked at the ground, feeling like you had frozen.
What a weirdo, he offered bread and a random paper to a lonely man.
Simultaneously, you wondered if the man found you attractive enough to stare like that. With your mind that often became nihilistic, you thought you were delusional and that you should just keep walking.
His eyes remained glued to you. As his prey was thinking about what was better to choose, he contemplated you walking again.
The salesman realized he had made you nervous and that made him feel eager to end his job and follow you again.
Once he realized you lived in a good neighborhood, where his elegant suits matched the vibe, he got even more excited to see you again.
So now, was like it was meant to be.
How sweet, sophisticated, and innocent you looked.
Something shifted, as you passed by his side, only having a view of his back, you assumed he was worked out, his hair looked perfectly fine, and his big hands offered two things. Perhaps you had misjudged him and he really wanted to help. But your inner voice said otherwise. In a sudden change of events, you decided to look back once you were almost at the exit of the park.
With his deep gaze still set on you, your lips formed a smile.
And he took it as a first win in the games that had begun between you two.
…
Once again, you find yourself in the library. Inside one of the biggest malls you’ve been to, you are leaning at a counter, asking if they have an English translation of a book you were interested in.
Your Korean isn’t good enough yet, so as the nice librarian disappeared to find your request, you are working on your next reply, with a translation app.
“Do you recommend me this one?” your back arched as a startled reflex. You quickly stand straight and turn around to see the person you grew anxious to avoid and see again. The salesman is there, looking down at you with a perfectly orchestrated smile.
“Huh?” you ask disconcertingly, he shows you a book, his face looking like he had found a wounded little bird. But it was only you, startled and nervous by his strong presence.
The book is The Divine Comedy. Dante Alighieri.
“Certainly is a good one. A lot of heavenly justice…” you say trying to sound confident, looking at the cover of the book. Displaying the layers that separated heaven from hell. “Do you believe in heavenly justice?”
“I don’t know. We can’t call someone a sinner without a proper trial beforehand” he chuckles, which makes you frown for a second. He truly was unpredictable and you didn’t like that. “Ah, sinners. Always misjudged and harshly punished for being the ones who have the guts to make things…” his deep voice and tone made you wonder if he was self-perceived as a sinner, which made you feel worse.
“You sound like an ethnocentric…”
“I don’t think I’m far into that type of thinking, y/n” Your eyes almost popped out, leaving your hands in an anxious tremble.
“How is it possible that you know my name?” Before he can even answer, you add more. “You are stalking me”
His demonic smile makes your heart stop. The smile you once thought had innocence can’t blind you anymore. He isn’t innocent. He literally confirmed he was stalking you and you didn’t know how to feel.
“I don’t like the idea that conveys the word ‘stalking’. We can call it predestination…” you huff in disbelief. “What do you want with me?”
“I would like to get to know the woman who rejected my Ddakji offer. And ask for one more game” Your lips form a line, and quietly you are hating how much you are enjoying the conversation.
“Hmm, I’m bad at most games, so I’m afraid I will reject you once again” You turned back again to see if the librarian was coming when you felt him stepping closer, which made you feel nervous again.
“I might believe you. I always win…” he whispered in your ear, sending shivers through your spine and creating a lot of tension.
Your psycho mode almost made you lean forward again, daring to see if some friction was possible. But you didn’t, trying to be prudent and acting sane.
“I would’ve wanted a normal first interaction and this time you should’ve asked me out on a date. That’s how it works where I come from but… here, I guess not” he stepped aside as the librarian handed you the book. And as you thanked her and turned to leave and pay somewhere else, he took out a card and handed it to you.
“I’m sure we can work on some sort of arrangement. Here, you may call me…” slightly irritated that he didn’t say much about your inquiry, you snatched the card and walked away.
The cathartic feelings of wanting to keep talking to him and running away from him at the same time resulted in excruciating. It didn’t make sense, the point of him was to nowhere. Being clueless about his age, name, and everything made it feel wrong. Yet, curiosity was starting to burn you.
…
Like a miracle, the heavens moved and sprinkled some luck above you. You found some friends on campus, they spoke English like you and were foreigners as well. One of them was a friend of the owner of a club and invited you for the night.
The invitation made you forgetful about your salesman, whom you hadn’t talked with since the encounter in the library. The card he handed the last time rested between the book you bought the same day, making you unable to read more because it reminded you of the encounter with him.
It resulted unknown to you when was that your life had turned over the edge of becoming twisted. Your feelings for a mysterious man who seemed more accusable than appeared remained undecided.
He made you feel like a wildfire and a caged bird at the same time. Delicate but menacing.
He seemed older than you, professional in a field, mature and imposing. Which you didn’t mind when he appeared to ask you about The Divine Comedy. Either way, you were playing but couldn’t risk anything. Especially in a country where you didn’t know how everything worked.
After getting out of the shower, your thoughts on the salesman are completely faded. You slip on a sequin dress and paint your eyes with glitter and a smokey style.
Thereafter, at the club you let yourself go and have a wild night. Between classes, essays, and the issue with the salesman, you needed a time out.
Everything feels nice when you take a bathroom break and you smile at your reflection. You know you are close to being drunk, it’s the most enjoyable stage of ingesting alcohol.
“Hey, let’s go dancing, I couldn’t find you before!” Yells one of your friends after you reunite with the little group. You nod excitedly, taking her hand and letting her take you to the dance floor.
The music reminded you of that time when spinnin records were a trend and everyone played their mixes at parties back at home. As you move along the track, you don’t look at anything in particular, you just feel interesting and sexy. But your eyes end up giving a quick glance at one table, almost making you stop your euphoric moment.
You swore you saw your salesman.
Looking around you don’t see him, so you return dancing but the odd sensation in your chest doesn’t let you rest.
“What happens?” Asks another friend, looking worried.
“Nothing. Just thought I saw someone. Never mind…” you shake your head, smiling and convincing them that everything is fine.
But once they got more drunk, you walked out, despite curiosity, you wanted to confirm if the tall gorgeous man was near you.
Rarely you bring up to question your life decisions. Not because you thought you were perfect, but because you easily accepted your errors.
And it wasn’t hard to accept you completely messed up by getting out of the club. Where the night was colder, and some steps away from the main entrance, the crowd was loud. A man could be heard pleading and sobbing, which made you fearful but eager to see what was happening.
You peeked at the alley beside the club. A wave of shock flooded you once you noticed another man was punching the one who yelped and sobbed for forgiveness.
Your salesman was the attacker.
“Please! I’ll pay everything back!” Your mind raced back to the moment you spotted your salesman inside the club minutes ago.
His dark grey suit didn’t fit the aura of the place, but he seemed to be talking with the same man he was now punching.
It was obvious at that point that he wasn’t a good man. He made fun of making people play his seemingly innocent games to later laugh in the face whenever they lost. He was never flirting with you, the odd feeling of uncertainty you felt with him was right.
You had to go. You had to burn the card he gave you, avoid the station where you met him, and forget about his face.
There’s panic in your system, your heart beats fast and nausea starts coming up your throat.
You want to get immediately drunk and forget everything you saw with a hangover. You need it.
But you don’t get very far. Midway through the stairs that conduct to the club, a hand holds your forearm with extreme pressure and drags you inside a private room.
Your salesman finally found you.
…
“You just killed a man!” you almost yelled as soon as he pushed you inside and closed the door.
The room was very fancy like the club. It had a big desk near a window, flower-shaped hanging lamps, black sparkly floor tiles, and a sage velvet couch.
Your salesman slides his fingers through his hair and looks at the ceiling before turning to you. One hand still carrying the murder weapon.
“He deserved it” was all he answered and you take a breath. In need of an alibi, you opened a random fridge in the room and grabbed a beer. Your salesman watched how you sipped at the can. He knew you were feeling a mix of curiosity and disgust for him.
Once you drink at least half of the content, you sigh, brushing aside some hair and walking towards him.
“Who are you?” you ask pleadingly, desperate to know how far you’ve gone for him.
“Eventually you’ll know” he sounds cold, calculating, and menacing. “You didn’t call…”
He was taking advantage of your vulnerability.
“I met you a week ago, I don’t even know your name” you admit with shame and dissatisfaction.
For the first time, he genuinely touches you. Hands straight to your waist, making gasp in surprise.
“You’re smart and will eventually understand. You’re my good girl”
His good girl….
What was left to do when you have a sociopath holding your waist with the same hands he had used to kill a man? Play along, even if you are terrified.
What had been your horrified face, slowly ends up in a smirk, tilting your head, squandering cheekiness. “I’m not your good girl, sir”
He slowly leaned back, taking a seat on the sage couch, one of his hands going straight to rest behind his head, against the wall. He twirled the knife against his knee, making you uneasy, but confident about your upcoming words.
“If I walk away, you can’t do much with me, I’m a foreigner. Sure the authorities would dismantle whatever dirty job you’re into and that’s a big no-no” you explain, and feeling a little too bold, you step between his legs.
“Your lack of ignorance amazes me” he admits, offering you a cocky smile. “It makes me even more infatuated”
Your left knee pushed aside his hand twirling the knife. He remained still but sure seemed slightly surprised when you ended up straddling him. With your hands glued to his dark tie, putting it into place.
“Hmm, well, be careful. I am no threat, I barely have valuable skills to get rid of you but I know I could be a problem. So I guess I won, sir…” you allow yourself to smile, following a path with your fingers, from his tie to his cheeks and nose, softly tracing his pale skin.
“You don’t know what you’re talking about, sweetheart” You knew he was trying to be in control, and the best part was that you weren’t fighting for it.
“There’s a lot I might not understand. I’m just a girl who happened to be in this city for a temporary academic project” When your lips brushed his, you couldn’t deny he was so fucking hot, you wished he wasn’t so weird and probably part of a mafia or cult or whatever. “You are the grown-ass man who got obsessed with me”
“I just find you an odd but interesting player, sweet girl” he tried to use his innocent smile but it was useless when you grabbed him by the shoulders and finally dared to kiss him.
He controlled it the moment he touched you again. His hands had a possessive sting and firmly grabbed you by the hips. One of them still holding the knife.
Feeling bold, with adrenaline flowing freely, you softly bit his lower lip. You knew it was over when he almost let out a moan, and after checking he had his eyes closed, you literally jumped away from him.
Without looking back, you started running. Your clumsy steps turn frantic, knowing damn well he would start following you soon. As you literally start pushing people to get out, your heart beats faster than ever and you have a growing anxiety, begging you to stop and breathe.
Once the cold air hit you, as you took a cab and saw no sign of your salesman, confusion struck you and you saw the blood in your chest and arm.
“Are you alright, girl?” The driver asked, also watching your bleeding state.
“Yes, just an accident, I’m okay” he nods unsure, but starts driving after you give him your destination.
His knife must’ve sliced your skin when you stood up from his lap. When he moved one of his big hands to caress your chin.
It wasn’t that you were scared of him, of your salesman. Although you should be; but you weren’t. Could it be that the worst part was that you were attracted to him? Even after watching him kill a man? You were screwed.
You realize the reason why you always ran away from him is because you don’t know how to face his unpredictable demeanor.
At that point, you didn’t know what he wanted. Only that he was obsessed with you. But his intentions remained a mystery unsolved.
Before getting out of the cab, you pay and send your friends a message that you left early because you got a headache after vomiting. This didn’t happen, but would’ve been better to experience it as a young woman in her twenties.
…
When you opened the door, he was already inside. The worst part is that you weren’t surprised anymore. You only stood at the feet of the door, looking at him with uneasiness.
“You got me worried,” he says, stopping his movements around your table. “You left some blood stains and I thought it was serious”
“You accidentally showed me your true nature. A little bit of blood shouldn’t scare you” his shirt indeed had some bloody spots, his blazer was gone, and the sleeves of his messy shirt were rolled up. You hated that your first thought was that he looked very hot.
He moved and took a seat at one of your tables. He sighed and you realized that perhaps he was also screwed up. For letting himself go too far for you.
“I don’t regret any encounter we’ve had,” he says. “Me neither”
He can’t stop staring at your bloodstained dress and you notice.
Fuck everything, you thought.
I’m attracted to him, he’s attracted to me, What’s the worst thing that could happen? (I don’t want to know).
“Silly boy, look what you did to me,” you say looking at the soaked fabric.
Something possessed you at that moment. Your hands went straight to lift your dress. His eyes trailed your sparkly underwear, your lower belly, and your ribs that rose and fell as you breathed.
Your hands twirl behind your back to unhook your bra; also soaked, throwing it to the floor.
Your salesman is quiet, his innocent smile about to fall because you know you have taken him by surprise.
Likely you’ll get a scar. The would-be slightly deep, an uneven line that passed from your neck to your shoulder.
You step forward, confidently eyeing him.
“Clean it” he tried to stand up, probably to grab a med kit but you stopped him with your heel. “With your mouth. Lick it clean…”
He gulped.
His manspread became the only thing you could care about. How he eyed you with lust and possession for some seconds, and then to lean forwards.
Once again his hands landed on the curves of your hips and he made you step up, leaving him inches away from you.
Your sudden surgation grew and his hot tongue finally made contact with your skin.
You savored the feeling of his tongue, knowing he wouldn’t clean anything but the semi-dry blood over your breast. He was only making a mess.
Then, he lifts his head and catches your lips in a sullied kiss. The way he held you, made you understand how he always wanted control. Above anything.
“I will be gone within time. You can ruin me while it lasts…” you blurt out, panting for air.
“I’ll ruin you. But I don’t want to rip you apart. That’s pointless…” he admits in your lips, blood near your chin that he wipes out. “You’re the most fun I’ve had in years. My little toy…”
“Alright, I’ll be your toy” he nods, kissing you again. “Know that my lips are sealed when it comes to you”
“And you won’t have to worry about anything again…” you moan on his lips when he pulls your hair and finally makes you lay on your once new carpet, now displaying some splotches of blood.
“I don’t need your money”
“Don’t you want to make your mother proud and relieved from student debts? From rent?” You can’t think straight. “It’s not correct…”
“None of this is, y/n. Now shut your mouth and spread your legs, toy”
It’s wrong, immoral, a complete madness. You know everything will change once the night dies and the morning comes. But as much as you tried to communicate to him that you weren’t scared, you knew it was over, you’ve gotten too deep into his shit.
“Farewell to my purity” you whisper in his ear and it’s enough to make his eyes turn darker, full of lust.
Everything that consoles purity would be gone from you. And the fact that you were ready scared you. But once his hands started meeting places across your body, you welcomed the sin.
As well as your mind seized thinking. Not caring about the consequences.

I don't know why Tumblr decided years later to tell me there is a response to me for this post. But since I see your response now, it is only fair I give a full response in return since I did not address some things in my short reply.
Regarding your comment on Anakin having not seen Palpatine for years, that is actually not true. In canonical comics and novels, we know that the Jedi allowed Palpatine to be a mentor to Anakin since he was a young boy. They have interacted numerous times for years, and this is why by the time of Attack of the Clones, Anakin and Palpatine already have a relationship, why Palpatine says "your patience has paid off" and Anakin answers "your guidance more than my patience". Because they have been interacting, because Palpatine has been whispering in Anakin's ear for years.
Now again, this is not to say that Anakin can't be responsible for the choices that he does make. But we can't ignore that Palpatine actively manipulated, exploited, and groomed Anakin. And that influence does matter in the context of this story. This isn't just Anakin on his own going off the handle, this is someone for whom life has already been a struggle, who already feels isolated even among his fellow Jedi and then Palpatine comes in to carefully and slowly over the years pouring fuel on the fire before it becomes an inferno.
And as for Padme's reaction to Anakin's revelation about the Tuskens, she was shocked, she was clearly thrown off, but note that she takes a moment before she considers her next words, because she can see that Anakin is crying, upset, and clearly feeling conflict and guilt over what he did. So yes, she says to be angry is to be human, because saying "You're insane!" is hardly going to actually resolve this situation. This isn't Anakin all proud and happy going LOOK I KILLED ALL OF THEM! If that was the case, then yes, Padme's reaction would not be appropriate. But Anakin wasn't proud, he was angry, he was upset, he even says he should have behaved better than what he did. It's clear to Padme that Anakin recognizes the wrong in what he did, but he lost sight of that in the heat of moment because of the murder of his mother. And sure, we see the signs as an outsider with a clear perspective, but there is a reason that people within a relationship has a harder time seeing things clearly. To Padme, she is seeing that young boy who was a slave torn away from his mother, she is seeing and understanding where that rage and anger would come from, and she is seeing that he feels conflicted and guilty, not proud. So she tries to help, she tries to de-escalate. She also wants to see the best in Anakin, the same way that we all want to see the best in the people closest to us.
And in any case, whether Padme and Anakin would have had a happy future with the twins, it doesn't change the fact that they deserved a chance, they deserved a chance to figure things out and have a life with their children.
---------------------------
And regarding your other comments in the original post. I wanted to address some things.
I really find it distasteful to compare two women through saying one is better because she was willing to die to have a child while the other couldn't stay alive for her children. It oversimplifies a lot of things, particuarly regarding emotional trauma, and it is blaming Padme for her own death. It is in many ways painting a woman as vapid and shallow for dying of a "broken heart" instead of being alive for her children, and then effectively implying that it makes her a bad mother and that's why she doesn't deserve to have her children with her and they should be raised by someone else. Maybe you don't mean to come off that way, but it just comes across as very unsympathetic to the ways emotional trauma can affect a person. Someone losing the will to live after being dealt with a huge emotional trauma (the collapse of her entire world, both everything she fought for and the life she wanted with Anakin and their family) does not mean she was choosing to just abandon her children. And having seen people waste away and die because of "heartbreak" from losing a partner, as silly as that might seem to some, it's not something people just choose to do (like depression) or that they just up and decided to abandon their other loved ones, including kids because they weren't fighting hard enough for them to stay. Trauma doesn't fit in a neat little box with a rule book, and the way you have framed Padme's death in this as a negative mark against her just rubs me the wrong way.
As for Bail not being able to stand up after being told his daughter was killed versus Anakin torturing Leia, this is just missing the context that Bail knew it was his daughter and Anakin didn't. If Anakin had still done torturing even though he knew Leia was his daughter, then this comparison would be more valid and fair.
And as for "Breha and Bail put themselves in danger by adopting Leia selflessly" - I'm not saying they didn't do a good thing or that it wasn't dangerous, but it also wasn't entirely selfless. They wanted a child and they got one. It would be more selfless if they had not intended to have any kids but took Leia in anyways. Ultimately, this opportunity gave them something THEY wanted.
Lastly, I'll just reiterate what I said before, both sets of parents are valid, and Breha and Bail clearly did a great job raising Leia, as Owen and Beru did for Luke, but Leia and Luke clearly also did inherit good qualities from their biological parents, qualities that both sets of adoptive parents nurtured and helped to blossom, qualities that ultimately led them to saving the galaxy. I would never want to remove Breha/Bail and Owen/Beru from Leia and Luke's lives, but I would also always stand up to say that Anakin and Padme deserved a chance to have a life with their children. Maybe it wouldn't have been a perfectly idyllic and romantic life, but they still deserved a chance.
"Anakin and Padme deserved to raise their twins"
Breha Organa literally suffered at least 5 miscarriages and was willing to die for her children, and almost die with her last miscarriage.
Bail Organa literally couldn't stand up straight after being told her daughter was killed.
Breha and Bail put themselves in danger by adopting Leia selflessly.
While:
Anakin murdered women and children BEFORE Palpatine's manipulation and his fall to the dark side and tortured his own daughter.
Padme not only didn't care Anakin killing children, but she die because she was heartbroken after Anakin turning bad, leaving two babies who needed her.
NO, I WOULDN'T CHANGE BAIL AND BREHA ORGANA AS LEIA'S PARENTS FOR ANYTHING

Fractured Loyalties
Word Count: 1.7 K Summary in which an unlikely consultant is more involved in the case than they thought Pairing: Wonwoo X Fem Reader X Woozi
The fluorescent lights of the station cast a pale glow over the interrogation room. Wonwoo leaned against the wall, arms crossed, his sharp eyes fixed on the woman sitting across the metal table. Woozi sat beside her, his fingers drumming a quiet rhythm on a thick file of case documents. The tension in the room was palpable, an unspoken standoff brewing between the officers and their newest "consultant."
She smirked, leaning back in her chair. “You called me here because you need me. So why don’t we skip the part where you try to intimidate me and get to the good stuff?”
“Don’t get too comfortable,” Wonwoo said coolly, pushing off the wall. “You’re not here by choice, and if it were up to me, you’d still be rotting in a cell.”
Woozi’s voice was softer but no less firm. “You know this case better than anyone. That’s the only reason you’re here. Help us, and maybe you’ll get a chance at reducing your sentence. Play games, and you’ll regret it.”
She rolled her eyes, her smirk unfaltering. “Fine, Officer Lee. What do you want to know?”
Woozi slid a photo across the table. It was a crime scene: a luxurious penthouse ransacked, blood spattered across marble floors. The image was unsettling even for her, but she didn’t let it show.
“Tell us about this,” Woozi said. “The victim’s a high-profile financier. Word on the street is you used to run in the same circles.”
“‘Used to’ being the key phrase,” she said lightly, though her gaze lingered on the photo. “This doesn’t look like one of ours. Too messy.”
Wonwoo’s brow furrowed. “Ours?”
“Don’t act surprised. You knew who I was when you dragged me into this.” She tapped the photo. “This isn’t a professional hit. This is desperation.”
Woozi exchanged a glance with Wonwoo. “Desperation?”
She leaned forward, her smirk fading into something more serious. “You think this is just about money? No way. Someone’s trying to cover their tracks, but they’re out of time. And judging by how sloppy this is, they’re panicking.”
Wonwoo narrowed his eyes. “Why would someone with ties to you be desperate enough to kill?”
“Because,” she said, lowering her voice, “this isn’t just about who they killed. It’s about what they knew. And if you think your high-profile financier was squeaky clean, you’re even more naive than I thought.”
“You’re implying this victim was involved in something bigger,” Woozi said.
“Not implying. Stating.” She sat back, crossing her arms. “But you already know that, don’t you? That’s why you dragged me into this mess. Because you can’t touch the people behind it.”
Wonwoo’s jaw tightened, but he said nothing. Woozi pressed on, his tone calm but pointed. “If you know something, now’s the time to share.”
“I’ll share when you stop treating me like a criminal and start treating me like a partner,” she shot back. “You want answers? Then I need something in return.”
“You’re in no position to negotiate,” Wonwoo said sharply.
“And yet here I am, your only lead,” she countered. “So what’s it going to be, gentlemen?”
The room fell silent, the weight of her words hanging heavy in the air. Woozi’s fingers stilled on the table as he studied her, his sharp mind weighing the risks and rewards. Wonwoo’s gaze never left her, his distrust as clear as day.
Finally, Woozi spoke. “Fine. You work with us on this case, you get some leeway. But if you’re lying, or if this goes sideways, there’s no deal. Understand?”
Her lips curled into a sly smile. “Crystal clear.”
As she reached for the photo, a flicker of unease passed through her eyes—just for a moment, barely noticeable. But it was enough for both men to catch it. This case was personal. And they weren’t the only ones hiding something.
Hours later, the trio found themselves at a secure crime scene. The eerie silence of the penthouse was broken only by the soft click of Woozi’s camera as he documented the chaos. Wonwoo sifted through scattered documents, his meticulous nature showing as he pieced together a timeline. She, meanwhile, stood near the shattered window, the city lights casting fragmented patterns on her face.
“You seem awfully quiet,” Wonwoo said, glancing up from his work. “Not like you to miss an opportunity to talk.”
“Just thinking,” she replied, her voice softer than usual. Her eyes lingered on the bloodstains, her usual bravado tempered by the reality before her. “This… it’s worse than I thought.”
“Care to elaborate?” Woozi’s tone was curious, but there was a trace of concern in his expression.
She hesitated, her fingers brushing the edge of the windowsill. “Whoever did this, they’re not done. And if we don’t catch them soon…” Her voice trailed off, the weight of her unspoken fears heavy in the air.
Wonwoo stepped closer, his gaze steady. “We will catch them. But we need you to be honest with us. All of it.”
Her eyes met his, a flicker of vulnerability breaking through her guarded facade. “I am being honest. Maybe more than I should be.”
For a moment, the tension softened, replaced by something unspoken. She looked away first, her smirk returning but lacking its usual bite. “Don’t get too sentimental on me, Officer Jeon. I’m still a criminal, remember?”
“I haven’t forgotten,” Wonwoo said, though his tone was lighter now.
Woozi’s voice cut through the moment. “Focus. Both of you. We have a job to do.”
She shot him a grin. “You’re no fun, Officer Lee.”
Woozi didn’t look up from his work, but a faint smile tugged at his lips. “And you’re distracting.”
The words hung in the air, their implications clear but unspoken. As the investigation unfolded, the lines between ally and adversary blurred, the trio bound together by the secrets they shared—and the ones they kept hidden. Wonwoo meticulously sifted through a stack of papers, his sharp eyes narrowing as he tried to make sense of the chaos. Woozi worked methodically on the other side of the room, taking photos and collecting samples, his keen mind cataloging every detail. She lingered by the shattered window, her arms crossed, the cityscape a glittering contrast to the blood-stained floors behind her.
“Find anything interesting?” she asked, her tone light but edged with tension.
“Not yet,” Wonwoo replied curtly, barely glancing up. “But give it time. People like you always leave trails.”
She raised a brow, the corner of her mouth curling up in a half-smile. “People like me? Careful, Officer Jeon, that almost sounded personal.”
“It is personal,” he shot back, his voice low and sharp. “You don’t get to act like you’re above all this. You’re here because you’ve got blood on your hands too.”
Her smirk faltered, just for a second, before she masked it with a casual shrug. “Touché.”
Across the room, Woozi broke the tension with a soft cough. “Found something,” he said, holding up a bloodied piece of paper. “Looks like part of a ledger. There’s a name here—‘Park Hyun-soo.’ Ring any bells?”
She stiffened at the mention of the name, her fingers gripping the windowsill. “Hyun-soo…” she murmured, her voice barely audible.
Wonwoo caught the change immediately. “You know him.”
She hesitated, her jaw tightening. “Knew him,” she said finally, turning back toward the room. “He was... part of the network I used to run with. But he got out years ago. Said he wanted a clean slate.”
“Looks like his slate wasn’t as clean as you thought,” Woozi said, examining the ledger closely. “There are transaction codes here that match offshore accounts linked to organized crime. If Hyun-soo was involved—”
“Then he wasn’t just an innocent bystander,” she interrupted, her tone clipped. “He was playing both sides. And he paid the price for it.”
“Convenient story,” Wonwoo said, stepping closer, his eyes boring into hers. “But you’re holding back. What aren’t you telling us?”
She met his gaze, her expression guarded. “Nothing that matters to your case.”
“Everything matters,” he pressed, his voice dropping. “If there’s more to this—if you’re lying—it’s going to blow up in all our faces.”
The weight of his words hung heavy in the air. She sighed, raking a hand through her hair. “Hyun-soo wasn’t just playing both sides,” she admitted. “He had something—information, leverage—that could bring down some very dangerous people. If someone found out he was planning to use it, this would be their way of sending a message.”
“What kind of information?” Woozi asked, his pen poised over his notepad.
She hesitated again, then shook her head. “I don’t know. But whatever it was, it scared him enough to reach out to me six months ago.”
“And you didn’t think to mention this sooner?” Wonwoo’s frustration was evident.
“I didn’t think it mattered,” she said defensively. “Hyun-soo didn’t trust anyone, not even me. He gave me just enough to keep me guessing. But I can tell you this—whoever did this isn’t stopping at him. They’re cleaning the house.”
The words sent a chill through the room. Woozi exchanged a glance with Wonwoo, his expression grim. “If that’s true, we need to move fast. Whoever’s behind this won’t wait for us to catch up.”
“Then we’ll need more than just her guesses,” Wonwoo said pointedly, though his gaze lingered on her. There was something in his eyes—a flicker of doubt, of something deeper—that he quickly masked. “We need proof.”
“I can help with that,” she said, her voice steady despite the unease in her expression. “But you have to trust me.”
“Trust?” Wonwoo scoffed, shaking his head. “You’ve given us no reason to trust you.”
“And yet here I am, your best shot at cracking this case,” she countered, her tone sharp but not unkind. “You don’t have to like me, Officer Jeon. But you do need me.”
The silence that followed was thick with tension, the unspoken truth settling heavily between them. Woozi broke it with a sigh, closing his notebook. “We’ll figure it out. But for now, let’s focus on the next lead.”
As the trio left the penthouse, the faint sound of sirens echoed in the distance. She trailed a step behind the officers, her expression unreadable as she glanced back at the crime scene. The broken glass, the blood, the chaos—it all felt like a warning, a shadow of what was yet to come.
And deep down, she knew she wasn’t the only one with secrets.

More hot takes about People's Opinions Regarding Vander and Silco's Respective Parenting of Powder/Jinx (everyone is wrong but me)
So I've talked a bit about how I've seen people be, in my opinion, unfairly critical of Vander's parenting of Vi and Powder (children he didn't choose to have under a brutally oppressive regime and a completely different cultural setting) so I'm gonna expand on that, but first it's Silco's turn to have me as his unlicensed defense attorney (I'm working on the degree buddy dw)
I see a lot of people villainize Silco for his parenting, which... Besties he's already the villain lmao. Like let me be clear, he was NOT a great dad like objectively, but I think people are assigning malicious intent out of nowhere and, like with Vander, being completely unfair about it.
First off I'm not even gonna address the allegations that he was a groomer/pedophile or that his relationship with Jinx was in any way inappropriate. I too got uncomfy the first time I watched the scene where she first gives him the injections, but it's SUPPOSED to be uncomfy, not to imply that they're FUCKING EACH OTHER (???????) but to show that she is locked in a very childish state of mind, as most teenagers would feel embarrassed to be climbing all over their dad. He does not touch her, interact with her, or speak to her in a way that implies sexual pretense AT ALL at any point in the story, he does not deviate from Regular Dad Interactions in that regard.
Now one thing he does get a lot of shit for that has a bit more credence to it (although I still disagree) is accusations of (non-sexual) grooming her into a weapon. So here's my take: I do not believe that he intended to groom her into a weapon for Zaun. I do, however, believe he intended to raise her to be a soldier for Zaun. And this is because he thought everyone should be a soldier for Zaun! He took extreme pride in the undercity and wanted independence for it and wanted to pass those values to his adopted daughter. Everyone who has children does this, I would hardly call it grooming.
H o w e v e r
The reason I say he wasn't a great parent is that he absolutely projected his own trauma onto his child and effectively tried to imprint the trust issues he got from that trauma onto her. This is entirely fair to criticize, this is NOT a good parent move, however I think it's unfair to assume malicious intent. I truly believe that he thought he was helping or protecting Jinx by doing this. I think he fully believed if she reunited with Vi, Vi would betray her and hurt her like Vander did him and he didn't want her to go through that mental and/or physical anguish. I don't think he did it to keep her under his "control." I mean, she isn't under his control lmao did we watch the same show? She constantly does whatever she wants causing him immense issues, but she's his daughter and he loves her and respects her freedom. I believe his actions were not in the interest of manipulating her, but protecting her, even though they were misguided and did her harm, and I believe the narrative supports this conclusion and assuming he's a monster who just wanted to use her is a complete mischaracterization.
Now the last thing I'll say is about Vander. I've noticed a lot of my fellow Silco enjoyers lamenting the fact that Jinx was so invested in Vander/Warwick and calls him dad, but we don't get to properly see her grieve or miss Silco or call him her dad despite him being much more of a father figure to her. First off, I absolutely agree. With the second part. I'd liked to have seen her lose her mind more over the fact that she killed her family again. I'd liked to have seen her steal Silco's coat in Blisters and Bedrock and put it on and cry and show her sister that, while Silco was a monster, he really did love and mean a great deal to her. I'd like to see Silco discussed as the dad he was to her.
H o w e v e r
I've seen a lot of people saying to this point that she shouldn't care about Vander at all, or at least not much, because he was barely a father figure to her and she'd resent him for what he did to Silco.
Again, did we watch the same show??
Vander raised Powder from roughly the ages of four to ten. These are extremely fundamental years in a child's life. Silco raised her through her adolescence but Vander raised her through her childhood. This means Vander (and also probably Vi a lot of the time) was the one who comforted her when she skinned her knees, and read her bedtime stories, and carried her to bed when she fell asleep at his bar, washed her sheets when she had accidents as are common with (esp traumatized) 4-5 year olds, taught her to read and write, fixed her snacks, and built the foundation for her to feel safe in a world that wanted to destroy her. A person doesn't just forget about that, she would still love him and see him as a parent. With Silco gone and Vi hating her, no fucking wonder she wanted to rescue one last piece of her family!!! And yeah, she knew the backstory with him and Silco, but didn't seem to care very much. The one time she brings it up she's clearly annoyed and borderline mocking Silco about it lmao.
Point is they were both her dads and they both loved her and she loved them even though they weren't perfect thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

So, once I'm done with my holiday exchange fic and the New Year's fic I promised (which is definitely going to be out when it's not even New Year's anymore. oops), I want to work on two projects as my main focus for the rest of January and all of February (while I'm doing any holiday prompts or whatever). These will be Punk Steve (as somebody requested him last year and I'm taking fucking forever) and the San Francisco Steve.
Here are some of the ideas I have for Punk Steve (scenes and HCs), if you're interested:
CW for Mentions/Implied/Referenced Child Abuse below
He employs Robin to help him with his hair. It's the first major thing he focuses on, as his hair has always been part of his image. They dye it with purple Kool Aid packets. And then Robin cuts it, choppy and shitty and it's the worst he's ever seen his hair, but he loves it. It's awful and Robin was tipsy the entire time she had the scissors in her hands, she kept giggling into the back of his neck, which then made him giggle—somebody moving because they're laughing is not easy to manage a haircut around.
Robin helps him pierce his earlobes with ice cubes and safety pins and she gifts him a set of studs to put in his ears while they heal. Then, when his ears are ready for different earrings, he goes with a different pair of studs that he sanded down and super-glued spikes to.
Steve going out of town for a little trip—he goes after his parents come home and discover this new version of him, and he's so pissed off that he can't stay in Hawkins for the weekend, so he treats himself. He goes to a queer bar because why the fuck not? He's been in the closet for years, worried about his dad's opinion, but his dad doesn't even like him as he is now, so who's he hiding from anyway? Anyway. Steve's outside the bar, a little buzzed, smoking a cigarette. When, from his right, somebody approaches with a, "You know, those'll kill you." He turns, only to come eye to eye with Eddie Munson, 'The Freak'. And, he's still working some shit out so he's got initial prejudices when he sees Eddie, but stops himself short in a matter of seconds, knowing that he's one of the freaks that Eddie would take in. He just leans back into the brick wall behind him, eyeing the cigarette Eddie's taking from his own pack. "You're a hypocrite, Munson. Need a light?" And then he leans over with his lighter glowing before Eddie can even say anything, staring at the way the little orange glow highlights the light sheen of spit on Eddie's plump lower lip, the freshly shaved down mustache under his nose. It stirs something in him, flips his heart over, dries his tongue. Then, they just smoke in silence next to each other, until Steve notices Eddie's bat tattoo. "Sick ink," is the comment he goes with. And that leads Eddie to hand over his forearm, let Steve investigate it, ramble on about some guy named Ozzy Osbourne—an artist Eddie idolizes from his scene. Steve just nods along, content. He asks about the tattoo shop that did it, if they take walk-ins. If Eddie would go with him in the morning so he could get his first tattoo done because, he admits it, he's sorta scared shitless, considering the whole Russian needle shit the few months before.
Steve at his first tattoo appointment, Eddie next to him. Flipping through a book of flashes. He doesn't even have to debate which one to get when he flips to a page with a robin on it. "It's not the most badass tattoo in the world, but it'll still mean something to me," is what he tells Eddie's confused expression. When the artist takes the flash book back, and disappears further into the shop to create a stencil, his nerves begin to spike. There's the buzz of tattoo guns around him, a guy wincing in the corner from the ink he's getting on his knee, a few droplets of blood beading before they could be wiped. It's stupid, how afraid it's making him feel and he voices that, but Eddie doesn't make fun of him. Just tells him, "It's always scary the first time. But I'll be there. Y'know, in case you need somebody to voice for you." And Steve remembers that during the tattoo. When the beak of the robin is being tattooed over part of his wrist bone, intense and throbbing. He squeezes Eddie's hand, because at some point they started holding hands, and buries his face into his shoulder, tears beading in his eyes. He has to stop a few times, just for Eddie to wipe his tears or give him a cup of water, and even once because he'd been hyperventilating too hard and nearly passed out. But it gets done, eventually, and then he has a new thing to show Robin when he gets home. He tells Eddie as such. And tries, though it's difficult, to ignore the little disappointed lilt in Eddie's, "Oh," when he's told about Robin.
Steve needs to get his septum pierced for sure. I need to make it happen. So that's going on the list.
Him having Eddie show him how to sew. Eddie's barely veiled distaste towards one of the punk band patches he's handed. Eddie smiling when he's handed a Misfits patch that's clearly been drawn by Steve's own hand, some of the lettering a lot wobbly.
Steve rocking the shit out of a skinhead. He definitely bites the guy hard enough to leave a ring of teeth.
Uhh....he and Hopper go at it a few times. I kinda want it to be a hard earned camaraderie because he doesn't trust Hopper at first. Maybe due to the fact that, when Steve needed help to get away from his parents, he was sort of sidelined by the police and Hopper had been a part of that. I'm not sure yet, but all I know is that Steve's ACAB patch isn't just baseline agreement on the statement, but a deeply personal connection he has from past experience. Maybe he even distrusts Hopper because of something Eddie had told him about, about Al Munson being handled when it was almost too late, but not before when it was the beginning and Eddie had been too small and too scared of his dad. Just Steve hating Hopper's guts for a while. And him being untrusting of this adult that was supposed to help him, both in and out of the Upside Down.
He takes to Wayne immediately. Wayne offered to help patch him up after Steve and his dad had been at it. Wayne gave him tenderness and care, soft words of comfort—things Steve can barely remember ever having.
Okay, maybe I want to also have a focus on Steve and his relationship with his parents. Just. How much he hates his dad. How much he wants to break free from his dad's abuse over the years. And part of that included in his car. Steve didn't buy his car, his dad bought it for him—some "standard, all American" 16th birthday gift or whatever bullshit his dad tried to spoon feed him. It's one of the last things tying him to his dad. So, he takes the baseball bat to it. Leaves it wrecked and damaged in his parents' driveway and storms off on foot, going to Robin's. She opens the front door to Steve, panting, red faced, sweating; he's still fisting his baseball bat in his hands, a dazed look in his eyes, wobbly lips. There's a few shards of glass in his hair, one that seems to have solidified its place in his left eyebrow. And all he says is, "He can't hurt me anymore." Before being pulled inside, sobbing into Robin's hands as she carefully plucks the glass from his face. It's not long after that that he gets a place with Eddie and Robin.
Once he's adopted into the Munson family, (not legally, of course, he told Wayne so. After the fact that he discovered Wayne's an ally. "I want to date your nephew. Please don't adopt me."), he starts collecting a whole wardrobe of hand-me-downs. A pair of dirtied work boots that he puts studs on, some flannels that he either rips the sleeves off on or purposefully distresses (the sleeve scraps get used for patches), socks that he layers when wearing boots or turns into gloves, and lots and lots of jeans that he begins turning into crust pants. Of course, too, an old fisherman's denim vest that's nearly identical to Eddie's. "Just in case you want more room for them punk bits and bobs. Your jacket's gettin' kinda full." Eddie helps him attach zippers and spikes, shows him how to turn bottle caps into pins, and most importantly—shows Steve how to really have fun with decorating his shit.
His work boots have two different colored ladder lacing on them: yellow and purple. I was going to say orange instead of yellow, but I can't get a clear enough answer on that lace color to confidently say it for him. But the yellow is anti-racist. And purple, from the sources I've read, has meant gay pride. (Gay Steve my beloved).
He would never shoplift from a Mom and Pop store. But the local Wal-Mart??? Oh-ho-ho, he is in there swiping up nails and screws for his projects, menstrual pads when Robin needs them, baby formula for the mom he walked by as he entered the store, dog food for the strays near his apartment.
I think he's never really been an artistic kid. However, as soon as he is handed a can of spray paint, that is his time to shine. His proudest job is a dick he sprayed on the driver's side window of Powell's car.
Circling back to the whole Hopper beef that Steve has, I definitely want to write a scene where he's being carted home by Hopper in the back of his cop car. Hopper's frustrated, because this is the third time this month that Steve's been back there, but Steve won't stop. "Stop doing stupid shit, Steve. It's a bad look for you." But Steve just rolls his eyes. "Then shit shouldn't be so stupid." And I think that maybe Hopper would try and tell him that he's too good of a kid to be doing things like vandalize Powell's car or get caught shoplifting or [enter other small harmless crime]. And Steve just gets so combative. So fucking angry. He snaps, "Then maybe 'good cops' like you shouldn't let so many kids slip out of your hands. You ever think of that?" After some stunned silence, Steve follows up with, "You have no right telling me what kind of person I should be. I couldn't even be a person until recently." Or something like that (tee-hee).
Anyway. I'll stop right here because I could go on and on and on about different ideas I have for my version of Punk Steve. But uh. I know for certain this one's going to be longer than one chapter because I really, really want to see where I could get this character to go. I love Punk Steve so much.

This is interesting commentary, but:
"Despite the exact opposite being the typical fandom perception, early on we learn that Sam tends to define a monster by their features/abilities, while Dean defines a monster by their actions."
I agree that early on Sam tends to think abilities = Monster = Bad, but so does Dean. I also agree that how Sam feels about Monsters/people with an abilities does relate to where he is at in his own personal "freak" journey. However, I don’t agree with the idea that Dean has a nuanced criteria for killing early on. To me, it seems more like early Dean sees ALL monsters as bad, AND humans who behave monstrously are ALSO bad.
(As I am just jumping on a post that came across my dash, I’ll put the rest under the cut. So don’t read on if you aren’t interested my expanding on my take. And no hard feelings if you aren’t.).
It isn’t until after "Bloodlust" in Season 2 that Dean even considers the possibility that a monster might not always be bad. Sam is the one who says, "if they aren’t killing anyone, then they aren’t evil." Dean would have killed the vampires without a second thought if Sam hadn’t stopped him (at first). Dean is shaken at the idea that he might have killed monsters who hadn’t deserved to die, which suggests he hadn’t used any criterion to determine what makes someone a monster other than them being "a literal monster" to justify killing until this episode. Also, Max has powers, which I think Dean basically acquaints with being a monster or monster-adjacent. He’s more inclined than Sam to give Andy the benefit of the doubt, but this is after "Bloodlust," and it’s because if he considers Andy a monster for having mental powers, then he might have to consider the fact that he might have to kill Sam (like John warned him) because of his abilities, too. Dean is terrified when Sam starts having abilities that he will become a monster, despite saying he doesn’t believe Sam could go bad and won’t let that happen.
Also, in "The Benders," the family is hideously monstrous, but other than fighting in self-defense and to save each other, both Sam and Dean seem uneasy with the idea that the cop killed the human man who killed her brother once he’d been disarmed. It seems here that both brothers still have some hang-ups on killing even evil humans.
Also, fandom tends to aquate Sam with being the one who usually has more empathy for monsters, or the one less likely to kill somone just because they are a monster … because it’s been shown over and over. His mantra practically became, "it’s not who you are, it’s what you do that matters." Though, it is a lesson he learns after a ton of hardship. In "The Purge," Dean wants to kill the "Fish Taco" who has killed and harmed no one because her brother was a killer. He also is upset that Sam wants them to be "all business" and not family at this time, so one could even argue that Deans empathy comes from his relationship with Sam (he also has the mark here, already, I know).
Also, Sam trusted Ruby, or semi-trusted her, as early as Season 3. He was proven wrong for trusting her even though she helped them countless times, and pulled him back from committing suicide. With Benny, he sees another monster who helped support and save a Winchester, and who appears to be trustworthy … but what if he isn’t? Sam was wrong to trust Ruby, so there is the worry that maybe Dean is also wrong to trust Benny. Add this to Dean killing Amy and Dean literally saying Benny has never let him down (implying Sam has, thus he’s a better brother than Sam), and that’s why Sam hated Benny.
Aneyay, I think who the brothers see as monsters, and whether the person/monster is should be trusted, worthy of mercy or not, often depends more on what they are projecting about themselves or their brother and less on having a set criteria for whether people should be considered monsters or desrve killing.
omg i just finished your emma vs amy takes and the subsequent discourse about it (which was so refreshing to see btw!! love it when adults can be Adults and argue about the topic without insulting the other person) and I might get fried for this but that incident aside, do you have any other scene/episode in mind where sam reacts the same way or does the same thing?
(im sorry if this isn't your cup of tea for asks! your takes have been Enlightening)
You mean another situation where Sam shoots a person with supernatural abilities who hasn't shed blood and has a sympathetic backstory without giving them a chance? Not as overtly—Benny in season 8's "Citizen Fang" certainly comes to mind, but even Benny, Sam at least made a show of giving a chance by assigning Martin to keep tabs on him and make sure he didn't do anything wrong before trying to kill him. (Though whether there was conscious or subconscious sabotage involved when Sam chose Martin specifically—someone he knew to be mentally unstable—is certainly a good question given Sam had already made death threats about Benny before then.)
The fact that Sam's behavior in 7.13 "Slice Girls" is pretty unique is really what I want to point out about this episode in the first place—that Sam's actions in "Slice Girls" are inconsistent with his previous behavior and future behavior as far as "good" monster episodes. We can turn to examples such as:
1.14 where Sam insists they try and talk Max down instead of killing him, because Max's murders are a result of extensive abuse.
Lenore and her nest in SPN's seminal "monsters can be good" episode (2.03)
Sam thinking Andy is responsible for the killings in 2.05 but still waiting for proof before acting.
2.09 where Sam insists they not kill someone they think might be infected with Croatoan virus before he turns and tries to kill them because that doesn't give him a chance.
Two episodes where Sam faces off against Gordon because Gordon wants to kill him before Sam kills someone (2.10, 3.07)
2.17 where Sam and Dean search for a cure for Madison, who is not aware that she has been killing people.
4.04 Metamorphosis where Sam is the one who takes the initiative to research Rugarus, learns that they can survive without giving into their urges, and insist they go and talk to him about how his body is changing (lol) so he has the chance to fight the urge to kill and eat people.
5.06 where Sam and Dean oppose Cas who wants to kill Jesse, who is a child who is not aware that he has powers and is hurting people.
6.02 where Sam, even soulless, recognizes the innocence of a shifter baby.
Then we have Amy and Emma in 7.03 and 7.13 respectively.
8.04 where the brothers let Kate the Werewolf go because she was turned against her will and killed the man who turned her in self-defense.
8.09 Citizen Fang (already discussed)
I'm getting lazy but then we also have Magda and Jack Kline—both children with powers, one severely abused, the other the son of the devil with uncontrolled explosive powers that could end the world, both of whom Sam attempts to help work with their abilities.
Dean has a more structured series of personal "rules"—a litmus test we see from the very beginning—one Sam often follows as well, but I'm not sure Sam ever really fully grasps that Dean thinks this way.
Has this person hurt or killed anyone?
Was it on purpose or was it outside of their awareness?
If it wasn't on purpose, are they capable of learning to control their urges?
We see this code as early as 1.12 "Faith":
SAM Wait, what the hell are you talking about Dean, we can't kill Roy. DEAN Sam the guys playing God, he's deciding who lives and who dies. That's a monster in my book. SAM No. We're not going to kill a human being Dean. We do that we're no better than he is.
Dean applies the same reasoning in 1.14 with Max:
SAM These visions, this whole time -- I wasn't connecting to the Millers, I was connecting to Max! The thing is I don't get why, man. I guess -- because we're so alike? DEAN What are you talking about. The dude's nothing like you. SAM Well. We both have psychic abilities, we both... DEAN Both what? Sam, Max is a monster, he's already killed two people, now he's gunning for a third.
Despite the exact opposite being the typical fandom perception, early on we learn that Sam tends to define a monster by their features/abilities, while Dean defines a monster by their actions. We see the same with Amy—she is "a monster who killed four people" (7.07) . She isn't a monster because of what she is but because of what she did. This again—is also why Dean doesn't even consider killing her son right after her kid swears to kill him one day. We see Dean, in the rare cases where it comes up, is also perfectly fine with taking out human serial killers they stumble across (ex: Thin Man).
Sam will also kill a human serial killer at times (and murderous witches by 3.09), but he reserves the word "monster" to describe individuals with supernatural features/abilities... and I think the fact that Sam's definition of the term differs from Dean's is something neither brother ever fully realizes about the other, leading at several points to arguments where they are talking past each other and do not understand one another. Sam hears "monster" and thinks "Dean is talking about me", when Dean is operating under a completely different definition of the term that is based on the actions of a person.
When Sam is in a headspace where he is thinking of himself as one of those monsters, he shows increased or lessened sympathy in turns. For example, he assumes Andy's guilt in 2.05 because he is panicked about becoming evil himself and is comparing the two of them (but again—still waits for confirmation) but his sympathy for Max in 1.14 comes from the same comparison with himself. Sam completely misrepresents Amy in 7.03 as an addict who relapsed but more generally is "managing", as a way to compare her with himself... when Amy didn't feed on anyone herself and her actions have absolutely nothing to do with addiction or battling "monstrous urges".
I've been bitching and moaning a lot, but I will reemphasize that there is a more sympathetic reason that Sam shoots Emma—Sam and Dean are both crowding up to the diving board at the deep end of the pool in season 7. Dean's grieving and is drinking extremely heavily to cope and Sam is hallucinating. They are both unraveling at the seams. Neither of them is in a place where they trust the other's judgement because they both know themselves and each other to be unstable. So if we imagine a reality where Sam and Dean give Emma a chance, and it doesn't take, Sam assesses himself and Dean to be in no mental state to cope with a potential surprise attack. It's just that Sam also erroneously compares Amy and Emma when they are not the same, and by doing so, frames Dean wanting to spare Emma but killing Amy as hypocrisy (because they are both "monsters") when Dean's actions are perfectly consistent with his personal ethical code and his definition of a "monster"... and Sam's actions aren't.
#spn meta#i do gen think their moral compasses are fucked. both of them.#sam#dean#adding my 2 cents#I can repost separately if OP has issue with my reblog …

Motherhood in WandaVision, Doctor Strange 2, & Agatha All Along
Many, many spoilers ahead
Summary
Starting with the obvious: Wanda creates her and Vision's twins, Billy and Tommy, entirely from her own imagination. After losing them when she takes the hex down, she embarks on a quest to bring them back to life, even if it means tapping into dark forces and killing anyone who stands in her way, as we see in Doctor Strange
During the events of WandaVision, Monica attempts to connect to Wanda, empathizing with her grief over Vision through her own loss of her mother Maria.
As an inverse of Wanda, America Chavez's mothers sacrificed themselves to save her, now making her an orphan as she dimension hops. Wanda initially tries to abduct America to use her powers, and America stops her by bringing her to an alternate universe in which the twins are afraid of her and call out to their timeline's version of Wanda.
Around this time, Billy's soul takes over William Kaplan's body, and while he doesn't remember anything else before that moment, he knows he needs to save his twin Tommy, whose soul is lost. He seeks Agatha to access The Road, which is rumored to grant any who completes it whatever they want. Along the way, Agatha learns who he is.
Billy rejects the idea that Wanda is his mother, claiming he already has a mom (implying William's mother), and Agatha plays along. Still, Billy's reality manipulation and Wiccan costume match Wanda's.
Not long before this, Alice Wu-Gulliver is able to break her family's curse and learns along the way that her rockstar mother's rendition of The Witch's Road ballad was actually a spell to keep Alice safe since her mother couldn't protect her from the curse.
At the end of Agatha All Along, we see that Agatha conceived of her son Nicholas Scratch by herself ("from scratch") but he was doomed to die young. She kills witches to feed him for as long as she can but Rio (Death) inevitably comes to him. It is Nicky's song that sparks the rumor of the Witch's Road, which Agatha uses to trick other witches to steal their power.
Agatha admits to Billy that she is afraid to face Nicky in the afterlife, and that he reminds her of Nicky. They walk off together to "go find Tommy."
Analysis
Grief (defined here as the response to the loss of a loved one characterized by sadness and/or anger and similar emotions) acts as a unifier and motivation. The mishandling of grief leads characters (Wanda, Agatha) to cause suffering to others and steal resources to protect or bring to life their loved ones. Both characters are redeemed by the empathy of another grieving character, usually a grieving child (Monica, Billy, America).
This manifests in grieving parent/grieving child relationships that then lend to a found family dynamic: Monica and Wanda, America and Wanda, Billy and Agatha. Despite Billy claiming that he doesn't see Wanda as his mother (most likely indicating that he sees William Kaplan's mother as his true parent), he still falls into this dynamic, first by default and then willingly.
Motherhood is also tied to sacrifice. On one hand, we have mother figures who sacrifice themselves to save or protect their children: Lorna dedicated her life to protecting Alice, America's mothers helped her escape their dying world, and even Maria can be seen as having sacrificed herself since she built up SWORD while dying thus enabling Monica's career path. On the other, we also have mothers forced to sacrifice their children: Wanda must release the twins as she lets down the hex, and Agatha eventually loses Nicky. This divide evenly splits the mothers who are seen as heroes and the mothers who are deemed villains.
And finally we have rejection. For some characters, this means rejection of their self; for others, it's a rejection of their mothers. For Billy, these are almost the same thing: he denies Wanda as his mother while also questioning his identity. This might be because Wanda has hurt many people and Billy didn't want to identify with that.
Alice initially rejects her mother's career and belief in The Road, believing that the obsession drove her mad. Upon learning the truth, she accepts everything, which empowers her to break her family's curse.
On the alternate Earth in Doctor Strange 2, Wanda's rampage is only stopped by her fear of rejection from her children.
And of course, Evanora rejected Agatha centuries ago, claiming that Agatha was born evil. This is most likely why Agatha acts like a villain: she was told from the beginning that that's all she is. We can see in her repeated pleas to her mother that she "can be good" that Agatha longed for her mother's acceptance, or at least to be spared her wrath, but she never got it. Interestingly, Agatha's parenting of Nicky is exactly the opposite. She cherishes her son, dotes on him, even refuses to get upset and comforts him when Nicky disobeys her.
In a nutshell, the MCU places motherhood along the continuum of heroism and villainy that is defined by what a character must sacrifice and how they handle their grief. While the depth of emotions surrounding this trope is a shortcut for creating accessibly deep characters, this still feels like a narrow view of femininity. This of course harkens back to Natasha Romanov's abominable character moment in which she claims to be a monster because she can't have children. If the definition of womanhood is the ability to have babies, and then the definition of motherhood is to die or lose, then the MCU is basically arguing that its women are disposable props. Based on how compelling the femme characters since WandaVision have been, this doesn't seem intentional, and in fairness non maternal femme characters (e.g. Rio, Lilia Calderu, Jen) are still given emotional depth and range and interesting arcs. So hopefully Marvel will continue to show motherhood as an aspect of life that can add depth to a character, and not an inevitability fraught with death for all women.

ros says that she believes that ppl can get respect through both fearful (by having everyone fear her) and loving (by embodying their own hope) means but she feels as though shes been forced into going down the fearful path cause of how everyone treats her
pili then says that this is why he doesnt think he and ros can ever get along cause they have such fundamentally different mentalities cause he thinks fear is the only way to get ppl to respect others and that you cant fix the unfixable
ros tthen reasons that you dont need to fix someone to be friends with them and that nobody has the right to fix others just that if they were nice then they could get along and points out how pangi and pili get aling (also someone else but i didnt hear)
pili then says that pangi respects him cause he knows that he cant beat him and they get along well cause of that, ros then points out how clown is nice and how pili is comfortable with him and pili says he just has a weird obsession with him
pili then says that being nice means that you get stepped on and ros points out that pili saying that implies that he thinks ros is weak which she doesnt think is fair and asked who shes let step on her and pili says he doesnt know
ros then points out the kingdom and how theyre so locked in cause of her kindness, pili then says that hes more of a loner and ros asks wouldnt he wabt to be part of something
pili then says that ros hasnt been gone through what hes been through and that hes cursed with misfortune, ros then says that hes sorry to pili but points out how shes surrounded by death as well but in a different way, pili then says that its different cause ros is still here but all it takes is a creeper
ros then says that pili should start thinking of the present and that pili should start valuing his comrades instead of thinking things like "if flame dies tomorrow im cursed" as an example, pili then reasons that thats the exact reason that he distanced himself from pangi cause he doesnt want him to die
ros then says that if pili needs to kill then the whole realm can help him but pili reasons that the keepers of the realm wouldnt allow it, that foolish was the first and last given death he can have
ros theb says that if pili just opened up to the others on the realm then they could help him, pili then says that he doesnt look for payment wheb hes being helpful, ros then told pili about how happy flame was when pili helped him and pili says he just did that cause he wanted to hang out with flame
ros then tries to relate to pili by saying how she feels useless and pili then says that everyone has their own strengths and intelligences and gives him helping sausage as an example, that his building is equivalent to pilis killing and that building is what makes ros ros and that hes not calling ros weak its just that her strength lies somewhere else
ros then says that even after this conversation whatever hapoens will happen and pili agrees and that hes so excited for clown to kill him and ros asks him why hes so excited and pili excitedly says why wouldnt he, clown is the best fighter and hes gonna get beat and hes gonna get humbled and experience ego death
pili then says that its not cause hes a clown fan, its cause he just loves getting humbled and will always fight the strongest player on any server hes in and ros asks hypothetically what would happen if she was the best pvper on the server and pili replied that he would have to go after her
ros then asks pili why hes been targetting her and pili replies that its cause he was just looking for a way to provoke clown, ros then asks if thats really it that he was just targetting her cause of clown and pili replies theres actually more than that and ros asks for a percentage which is
50% cause of the day 1 bullying
20% cause he was bored
20% cause of clown
10% cause she was just there
ros said okay after each percentage and pili noted that ros sounded offended when he said that he killed her cause of boredom and pili says that he just has a different definition of fun from her and that he knows its messed up and pili says yes
ros theb asked if hes been through therapy and that theres a thing in therapy where the patient reasons out why he wants to kill ppl and asks what he would do if someone killed pangi and he said he would get revenge, ros then asks about bad doing it and pili thinks that thats exactly what bad wants cause of bads actions and that all he wants is his little telenovelas and tells her about bad insinuating that he has a crush on someone cause he made the mistake of saying hes interested in someone and ros asks if thats why bad said that ros should take pili out on a date and pili said yes and expanded on what happened
ros then says that pili desires closeness with someone and that he feels strong emotions amd that he also inspires strong emotions in her (mainly anger and the like) but that while he wants to inspire fear and destruction she wants to inspire hope and protection and that she dislikes pili insinuating shes weak and thats why she keeps retaliating against pili and pili says he didnt even notice that and ros said thats exactly what she meant and pili apologizes then says that he can be too honest or too much of a liar, pili then says to not try to understand him cause of that but ros says that she does understand him
ros tthen says that if theyre gonna continue their rivalry to wait for a week while she continues building the castle which pili was upset about cause he cant wait to get killed and ros says he should make the most of the week and that he should fix things
pili then says that whatever happens in the week is exactly what he wanted and to not worry about him, ros then says that theyll make it a fun thung but also maybe that he shouldnt be killed cause hes on his last life and pili tells her not to worry about it and that they can just kill him if they wanted
ros then kills some mobs and says that death is everywhere and pili says that death doesnt matter until its someone close to you and ros says that pili has done a good job in that respect cause none of the ppl close to him have died yet and pili agrees saying that pangi hasnt died yet then told to ros to be careful about pangi cause hes gone unstable cause of something pili caused
they tthen say their goodbyes and pili says that he cant wait to hate on ros tomorrow and ros remarks on that and pili says that its a good thing cause their rivalry pushes them to their best like batman and joker from the lego series and ros agrees and that shes gonna watch it
they then say their goodbyes fr
#liveblogging#watchblogging#not ls#pov: ros#vod: Secrets are afoot on the realm🎀 | !d !s !merch#god i love their yap and their dynamic theyre such foils#i think the thing about pili is that he doesnt look down on her generally#but he does look down on her on the things that ros doesnt want to be looked down on#which fuels ros' antagonism and drive to retaliate against him#cause you cant just say that kinda shit and not expect the other person to hate you#and pili is just kinda. underestimating her in general even in her anger against him#assuming hes telling the truth which i think in this aspect he is#and yeah no wonder ros gets so mad at him lmao considering shes been really respectful of him#anyways i hope ros and not clown is the one to kill him she deserves it#over and over again if it helps get the point across to not underestimate her

Yeah, the interactions with the other residents and the far superior writing is what helped Rescue Bots immensely.
It’s why it’s disappointing that despite having the same staff, EarthSpark seems to have greatly misunderstood Heatwave and co’s own isolation with the Burns’ on Griffin Rock…
I think a lot of the isolation frankly has to do with the show greatly advertising it having a mixed race cast, going above and beyond to make them the focus, to the point Robbie and Mo are front and center on the old toy packaging, obscuring the Terrans and Autobots. The show also doesn’t help by giving them Power Ranger-Tron suits and making them more important than the Transformers. Masterforce this ain’t.
I feel like Autobot City would be a thing here, with humans and Autobots living peacefully. Energon based technology is common place, with clean energy based systems based on Cybertronian tech helping generate Energon similar to what’s implied in G1 and in Skybound. GHOST operates within Autobot city and is a NEST/Earth Defense Command stand in, though it does have some limitations similar to what’s implied in Prime. There’s a prison system similar to the RiD15 crypo pods, with the worst Decepticons captured and locked up in there, with still at large Decepticons occasionally trying to break them out while trying to steal Energon.
Some of the Terrans release the other Decepticons, being smoothed talked by Starscream or another character, being lied to in how the Decepticons are merely an oppressed group trying to survive under Autobot doctrine, to better illustrate what I feel ES should’ve been exploring: the Terrans as a neutral party starting out that become interested in the Autobot and Decepticon ideologies and how that shapes them. Like Thrash actually aligns more with the Decepticons, but he loves his Autobot and human family and makes a point to say he’s a punk, but he’s not an extremist. Hashtag is interested in the freedoms Decepticonism promises, but realizes too late she’s fallen for “fake news” and has to make up for her mistakes. Twitch is like El Tigre and is somewhere in the middle of being an Autobot or Decepticon, Jawbreaker is firmly an Autobot, working with Bulkhead, Grapple and the Dinobots, Nightshade is also 100% Autobot, falling in with Wheeljack and Perceptor, and finding the Decepticons’ science intriguing but heartless and barbaric. Spitfire and Aftermath are all for the Decepticons and while they have some lingering attachment to the Maltos, they’re ultimately the bad bully kids you see in movies who love being a bully. That said the two Chaos Terrans are trouble makers but aren’t fully willing to kill anyone, showing even they have standards. Like say Aftermath beats the crap out Jawbreaker, thinks he’s made his point and lets him live, but Starscream insists the Dinobot needs to be shot in the head, which Aftermath is against, thinking that’s overkill.
A lot of Mandroid’s annoyances are the same, but he detests seeing the Autobots and some reformed Decepticons like Devastator and Knock Out running around doing public service jobs alongside humans. I feel like Knock Out would fancy himself the hot cop you see in pin up stuff, and likes to be the bad cop to Schloder’s Inspector Gadget like good cop. Mandroid especially hates the Terrans, noticing they have unique powers that if handled improperly could kill all humans, and he especially is concerned how some of them want to be Junior Decepticons.
Do you think ES would have been improved by going the Rescue Bots route? Like, the war is there, and people are fighting it, but there’s also other stuff going on where our protagonists are so the show focuses on that
For as many complaints as I have about ES, the setting being postwar is a great concept. What should've happened was actually showing the audience how Earth and humanity as a whole have been affected by the War. We see that there's TF focused media and collectibles, but that strikes me as more fan pandering than actual worldbuilding. Has Cybertronian tech been introduced to human society? How has the presence of TFs influenced things like economies, relations between world powers, etc? Does the average human worry that they might encounter a TF one day? Who knows since ES is too busy focusing on the Malto bubble.
Part of what made RB work is that it didn't solely focus on the Rescue Bots and Burns family. Griffin Rock was an actual town with a recurring cast of citizens like the Greene family, Mrs. Neederlander and Mister Pettypaws, Huxley Prescott, and Mayor Luskey. Most importantly, the writing quality was fantastic.

taash said "they were doing it" and people ran with the interpretation of an npc that doesn't know solas or the history of the elvhenan even when bellara interjected and said, no, that's not right. that's not how it was for the elvhenan. they formed bonds before they had physical bodies. and people ran to doompost or create weird anti-solavellan shit even though mythal & solas refer to each other as old friends and when she releases him there is no tenderness or love in it. it is the act of unchaining a dog from his post, the stepping down of a general. but to each their own ig.
#let the record show i think love was there. do I personally perceive it as romantic / sexual? no.#mythal's perception of love & care is warped in and of itself#i think they loved each other. but she loved what she could take from him and what he could give in terms of service#not because she was romantically into him#also i wish we knew more about her & elgar'nan. her regret prison form says she holds no love for him anymore#and it makes me wonder when that love soured. was it when she was blighted? before that? was that love also born of duty and companionship?#this is the last post i'm gonna make ab this i think#bc i believe people are too caught up in the modern western ideas of love as thing we give solely to our romantic partners#and we literally have a character go ”our perception is warped bc of the age we live in” and some of you are still being purposefully obtuse#and i think trick saying it's up to interpretation is basically admitting EA had them dumb down the game anyway#if everything ab the rise and fall of the evanuris in game#was condensed to five 2min cutscenes it says enough that whatever the writers wanted#was swiftly cut down by corporate dept. basically saying it's in the fans' court now#also bc it's an easy cop out around new players & non solasmancers who are indifferent ab him / dislike him#as a way to appeal thru a more sympathetic lense of look!! he loved and was led astray#not to mention the clear justinia / leliana parallels#and leliana gets angry if you imply she was romantically involved / in love w justinia#and the romance descr when you remake your inq saying the dread wolf could not predict what it would mean to fall IN LOVE#implying he had never fallen in love before or at the very least experienced a romantic love#also him saying drinking from the well would make you a slave and he gets really upset#yet ive seen takes of ”hes doing this for her cus he dgaf ab lavellan” ?? he got mythal killed when he told her ab the blight#whatever feelings of admiration he had for her have rotted. he is literally burdened by his mistakes and his choice in joining her#i feel like if i were a spirit bound and twisted into a weapon i would need my creator to tell me i am Free. i would need that closure#like when cole says its not abuse to bind him if he asks and solas said thats not always true???#if you perceive her interaction w him in vg third act as#anything more than the way justinia released leliana in inq then im sorry maybe youre just obtuse#solavellan#mythal#dragon age meta

you are umasou
#I watched it today it was so good#im not big on dinosaur stuff but i like how it was used to approach the predator/prey conversation especially when both sides are sentient#instead of just defaulting to well since predators are meat eaters their actions are automatically immoral so their role in the story#has to match. and then when your characters /are/ meat eaters you just step around that whole topic#heart knows he has to kill and eat so there’s no avoiding it but even he knows he has agency over that#hell he even decided to hunt by himself so umasou doesn’t have to see him kill and eat another dinosaur a day after meeting him#and maybe its because it’s a kids movie but it also doesn’t make a big show over the act of hunting and eating. it doesn’t dwell on it#like yes you can clearly see them ripping into guts minus the graphic details but it doesnt go out of its way to censor it either#its played straight just like hearts mom having more kids like nobody asks who the father is or when that happened cuz it doesn’t matter#what matters is she still loves heart and encourages her kids to greet their big brother and they do!!! it’s sweet#Beckon was also an interesting touch bc they make it clear the only reason he doesnt eat umasou is bc he cant and not that he wouldn’t#but he’s still a funny and interesting character and that doesn’t get in the way of how we see him too much#same for baku he was pretty polite with heart esp from the start when he asks him if hes abandoned implying he would be prepared to#look out for him from the start. and at the end when he decides to spare him. I dont hate him at all hes just intimidating#you are umasou#doodles#I wanted to draw smth more detailed but I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go with the cartoony art style#or smth closer to realistic?? so this is like. some sort of compromise I guess

"claiming any writer ever intended to write that jason was sexually assaulted as a child is stealing from mia" is still one of the most ridiculous takes i have ever seen. by the way
#winick: hey i like this character. im going to resurrect him from the dead after 20 yrs. i'm going to have him go out of his way to tell mia#he thinks theyre similar. when she denies that he knows her enough to make such a claim i'm going to make him bring up her past as a victim#of SA specifically to prove he knows her past well and is still saying they are similar. and then i will make him say he also had to do bad#things to survive on the street.#people: clearly this writer who likes jason wrote him mocking mia for being a victim of SA!#if you think this could possibly imply him having faced SA then you hate women. obviously.#be serious. this is me just using GA seeing red. not talking abt bftc or how winick also wrote jay's first kill to be a sex trafficker or#how his dialogue following that was a callback to judy. i'm not even making the argument that jason necessarily has to have this history in#every interpretation of him! bc ofc he doesnt most writers never even hinted at this#but you cannot whine about mia's story being “stolen” by fans when fans are simply looking at published canon#mia ends that fight without any serious injuries after jay spent the entire thing giving her what HE thought was solid advice (was it?#well no. but HE thought it was) and you want to pretend his intention was to psychologically torture her using the SA she faced?#i can appreciate dedication to being a hater but i draw the line at being intentionally stupid. you dont even have to agree on winick#implying anything abt jay's past but you cannot say he was mocking her

In 'vis a vis' Janeway doesn't mention B'Elanna in the list of people who're worried about Tom which implies that B'Elanna didn't report the fact that "Tom" grabbed her arm, called her a disappointment and broke up with her (as Janeway definitely would have mentioned it as evidence of him acting strange if she knew about it) which makes sense on several different fronts but also makes me scream and cry loud enough to break glass.
#it reminds me of that time in 'Alice' (NOT related as vis a vis takes place seasons BEFORE 'Alice') but when B'Elanna says Tom:#'practically assaulted me' Janeway's not taking it seriously at all she says 'that doesn't sound like Tom' and I was like CAPTAIN??? DEATH?#but again that has no bearing on this in-universe bc that hasn't happened yet. REALLY I'm screaming and crying about B'Elanna's self esteem#issues which Steth literally manifested the worst case scenario of#Tom's little gesture when he gets back also goes over so well bc of this in MY mind.#Tom wanting her and Tom being with her is something B'Elanna wants regardless of how he actually acts in their relationship#(as long as it isn't abusive). He rarely puts her first without prompting or complaining BUT...he's a handsome human guy who wants her to b#his girlfriend. Ostensibly. And that's a prize you wanna hold onto.#God I love B'Elanna............#did she tell ANYONE or did she just sit with that interaction alone???#her not telling anyone implies that she DIDN'T go 'hey that's not like Tom! I should inform the captain of this incident!'#and that KILLS me dude...she's not like 'Something's terribly wrong with Tom or maybe that's an imposter!' she's like 'Tom said/did that to#me.' SCREAMING. SCREAMING. TOM. YOUR RELATIONSHIP IS /BAD/ WITH B'ELANNA.

Hear me out (or don't... it's fine I'm just venting and mean) yeah um I don't believe Chakotay was saved in Prod*gy s2.
#the 'time travel' makes no sense when you think on it. What happened to Prime Chakotay? He got killed they showed that.#At the end s1 Janeway finds an 'alternate chakotay in an alternate timeline' and that's the one they go and get#we saw the original get merc'd in the message. That ACTUALLY happened. Lmao.....#They didn't prevent THAT death because they didn't go to THAT Solum with the Infinity and stop it from happening#instead it was 'ALTERNATE#' implying other.#OG Chakotay wasn't taken over by the alternative one either nothing suggests that was the direction for him in s2#they didn't do anything like 'well you see chakotay because at the end of s2 when we converged timestreams you have merged with your other'#if they did want to recover the original from s1 then keep that clear instead of being convoluted dont use an alternate timeline wtf#instead the plot was focused on gywns stupid fucking paradox plot and her being fixed#chakotay was the one in a paradox too did that not matter nah dw about it he had to die for this outcome or someshit lmao why#In the extended message given to admiral janeway it shows him clearly getting left behind and surrounded. Sadly no one intervened.#I dont understand why they couldnt have just made s2 about his rescue alone IF they took their time it wouldnt be so difficult#to follow#above that the one they rescued was ruined by the 10 year gap so he wasn't 'saved' at all. God i hate s2 when you break it apart#I dunno the more i look at s2 Janeway and Chakotay the more upsetting it is. Janeway would NOT have settled for an imposter.#everyone going goo-goo gaa gaa over s2 but it's sloppy af imo and undermines a huge portion voyagers struggles#id really like them to flatly lay out their ideas because literally nothing ive heard explains the story or choices of s2 with conviction#instead it's oh clap for wesley or the new vulcan and other references yay#describe to me your timetravel clearly and i'll happily take a seat on it (there is still other crap stuff mind you)#this is the most repressed shit i my head i swear#im angry because s1 is so clearly mapped out to a brilliant degree and for whatever reason it's not in s2#i can see through it#insultingly people are eating it up and claiming it's better than ever nah dawg embarrassing#there are nice ideas inside s2 but they arent adequately rewarded#it doesnt compare to the timetravel in other trek because they kept it clear#i mean it could have been an interesting parallel to endgame but in the end janeway didnt even rescue him lmao they dropped her#why bother building up this mission only for her to give up and go 'i'll hand it over because im told to'. Janeway had fuck all this season#let alone settle for not fixing her own timeline and her own friends deadly circumstance dw just grab another one from the shelf i guess#the emotional fallout was absolutely missed because they didnt elaborate on anything. Plenty of show but no substance from the characters
