i’m new to the fandom and i saw you talk about how the fandom kinda views rob but what about charlie and glenn? what is the general consensus there?

Charlie is definitely the "fan favourite" of the three of them, which is acknowledged by RCG as well (as in, they very much are aware Charlie is way more liked than the two of them are) and it's definitely true. Some combo of Charlie Kelly being the fan-favourite character, Charlie Day's generally cheery demeanor, his insanely broad talent in every aspect of creativity, his support of fan content and shipping (see: Pacific Rim and Macdennis), and every interview he's ever done exemplifying all of that, kinda leads him to being more overwhelmingly liked than Rob or Glenn (plus, all of his social media content is either promo or him being a wholesome husband/dad).

Glenn is more complex, because his moodiness and some of his insane and incessant personal opinions (on food and health, especially) put him in a weird spot with a lot of fans...a huge chunk see him as off-putting or too similar to Dennis that he's scary. BUT that's not really representative of a chunk of the fandom, because that moodiness and his hang ups are kinda seen as the weird girl™ patheticism we see in Dennis that ends up making Glenn...obsessively likeable? Lmao. (And how do I politely work in the fact that he's the most obviously queer one of the three of them...) So the general consensus of Glenn is kinda hard to summarise... he's like manic pixie dream girl for Tumblrinas and a weird out-of-touch white guy to other fans... BUT I will say it seems like the public opinion of Glenn has shifted quite a bit since the start of Four Walls (and the end of the Podcast) in his favour. Who knew handing out free alcohol and getting drunk with fans instead of yapping about how vegetables are slowly killing you could make you more likeable ? (lmao)

I think I have it right generally but anyone can feel free to add on to this or send another ask if they think I'm far off-base, cos again my perspective is definitely affected by my interactions with them.

like what do you MEAN horror licks spoons clean when he's using them so he doesn't have to get a completely different one for the main course and the dessert. what do you MEAN dust has a lisp even though he speaks fluently and uses even more complex words than killer himself. horror knows how to sew and he often patches up their things without either of them noticing?? dust always wears oversized and clothes that cover him up just because he finds it comfy?? what??? out ra geous???? these guys have small little quirks to them that killer doesn't already know about???? killer immediately wants to know more. so he can expand his internal profile of them of course. not for any other more endearing and sweet reason. not at all,,,,,,,, (:3)

WHERE WE WENT WRONG ASK SPOTTED [LOCKS IN]

okay essentially without going into spoiler territory (it all seems kind of typical but there's a lot of twists and turns i have planned!!! trust me)

VERY basic premise, with leo/donnie with draxum and raph/mikey with splinter. i'm going to keep leo and donnie's names as they are for simplicity's sake and say that at one point they just decided to use the names their bio father gave them when they asked draxum for like... Actual names, they were probably just numbered before. they both have kind of messy complicated relationships with him

^^^ draxum is a pretty shit parent but im not going to make him super abusive (its fine when people do, im just going for the more nuanced approach!!). he's very goal-oriented and for a long time he's struggled to see the weapons he created as people, although he never outright Abused them. he was pretty emotionally neglectful and hard on them when it came to training/pushing them into their roles, and over the course of the story he's going to grapple both with humanizing them and also descending into a spiral of paranoia as things go on (all im gonna say about what's going on with him right now)

personality alterations are more subtle in some places and more obvious in others. raph is a lot more serious and overprotective, mikey's very similar to his canon characterization but he's a lot more rebellious and determined to prove his own independence, and donnie's actually very blunt and deadpan to counteract leo being UHHHHHHHHHH. hmmmmm. an insane person!! (lmao raph/mikey are dog-coded in the way that mikey is an excitable puppy and raph is an old sad sheepdog, and leo/donnie are cat-coded in the way that donnie is a cat that stays in high up places and glares at you, and leo is the type of cat that rolls on its back and looks cute and then ATTACKS when you try to pet it. thats the best way i can summarize them)

donnie was very much the family stickler on his side of the equation and leo was unruly and untameable, but that kind of... switches after some things happen. leo becomes complacent out of fear (he is so complicated and fucked up god bless) and donnie changes his priorities after he meets mikey.

because essentially the core of the story is that donnie and mikey being the youngest of their families, with overprotective older brothers who are actually kind of more reliant on them than the other way around, want to connect and actually be a family (as well as stop the conflict going on) but raph and leo REALLY DO NOT WANT THEM TO.

and i mean REALLY. really really. raph distrusts donnie and hates leo and leo DESPISES both raph and mikey (disaster twins are really codependent and its gonna shine through), so there's really just opposition on every side of the equation. things turn out alright in the end, but it's.... a long, long process. there's a point in the story where they have to do the unlocking ninpo thing and it takes so much longer and it is so much worse and its such a fucking mess LMAO

if things go according to plan it'll start after i finish canary continuity, i already have it all outlined. its just beginning stories that is kind of a struggle for me so the first few chapters are gonna be hard. even though i KNOW what im doing bleckgh.

random as hell pet peeve, but as much as people can do what they want in terms of the content that they create, i really don't understand hcs that frame c!dream as intentionally humiliating c!sam in Daedalus (making him eat the cake off the floor with his hands, putting him in a prisoner's uniform, going as far as using a collar and leash even).

And not to like, target specific artists or writers or hcs, bc I don't really remember the sources of these hcs in the first place, but like--it's just a bit strange to me, because so much of Daedalus was about intentionally setting himself apart from c!Sam by treating c!Sam as well, an equal in terms of the conversation? Obviously there's a physical power dynamic and that shouldn't be disregarded, but the situation gave c!Dream a chance to actually talk to c!Sam in a way that was blatantly impossible in the prison. c!Dream was also intentionally taking it a chance to well, prove several points to c!Sam--see giving him the steak even after c!Sam triggered him pissed him off, or the cake, or the clock, or the gapple. With the sole exception of the first day, where c!Dream was visibly unstable and projecting his ass off, he doesn't imitate the way c!Sam acts (as the allusions with the kibble/scraps, hiding the steak, threatening him w/ Quackity etc were clearly meant to be) as much as he's making a deliberate point of setting himself apart.

(Also, I think the idea of c!Dream bringing in the cake with a full set of cutlery and napkins is fun.)

sister imperator having an extremely emotionally taxing pregnancy due to the stress/depression from the breakup but also the clergy being on her ass because of her sudden disappearance. psaltarian is really only around to make sure that there are no complications and that their plans for the babies will shake out as expected so he’s going to each appointment with her and checking in on her occasionally to make sure those needs are met. psaltarian that could really care less about nihil’s stupid ass kids that she’s carrying and just wants to make sure that she’s fine and can get through this because he’s never seen imperator look so lost before. sister offhandedly joking about how she misses her guitar and that she regrets breaking it to beat nihil’s dumbass. psaltarian that goes back to the ridiculously expensive and now destroyed house in the hills to have the remaining pieces of her custom cherry red les paul special sent off to be fixed. psaltarian that doesn’t have the words to sympathize with sister and knows that she wouldn’t want to hear his pity anyways so instead, presents her with that cherry red guitar (that probably was broken beyond repair and was actually just replaced. but he’ll never tell her because he thinks it would mean less to her). sister who’s bump is ridiculously large thanks to the stupid set of twins that nihil gifted her with that immediately sits up and tries to play something for psaltarian, the first time she’s moved or talked this much about anything other than clergy business since the breakup. psaltarian who gets to sit back and watch her light up and think that Maybe this won’t all turn into the massive shit show he’s expecting from it.
