DRG job stone + rowan berries and leaves.

Oil pastel on cold pressed watercolor paper. Some blending with refined linseed oil.

Just messying around with oil pastels again.

As usual phone camera kinda desaturated the colors. May try to update with a better picture later after the oil I used to blend a bit dries and maybe doing a bit more touch up.

honestly if I were ever to throw the Suitehearts into any of my Killjoys stuff the dynamic would literally be the stupidest thing in the world. you do not want to have the Four and those guys together in any setting. it's a recipe for disaster. Jet and Benzedrine bitch and bicker like old ladies. telepathic warfare is waged via a complex language of glares and eyebrow movements between everyone in the room. Sandman makes a wholeheartedly joking comment to Ghoul like "I want to study you in a lab" and Kobra Kid gives him a black eye on the spot. Crab and Donnie end up playing hide n seek with the Girl until someone else who isn't aware of the game accidentally dumps a whole dude out of their hiding spot on accident and then gets elbowed for it. everyone hates each other but they're also kind of pals in the way that people who occasionally help each other out but don't see each other outside of that can be. that kind of thing

#one of the few luxuries we had growing up was a super nintendo #it was pretty much exclusively my mom's. and some of my earliest memories are watching her play super mario all stars and a link to the pas #she only specifically ever played mario 2 and 3. i never saw mario 1 or the lost levels as a kid #guess they're not as replayable to her. she says she's beaten both once #for some reason i remember playing a fair amount of donkey kong country. we had all 3 of them #i think as a kid i got farthest in the 3rd one? always got weird vibes from that one but it was still fun #growing up *my* home console was an N64. mom didn't really like it for whatever reason so it usually lived in my room #i still remember buying majora's mask from a toy store that's not in business anymore. i think that was one of my only games that wasn't a #hand-me-down. i think it was that and turok rage wars #as far as i remember everything else was given by a relative or a relative's boyfriend or something #still don't know where a lot of them went #i used to have the tony hawk games on there. and i think i remember gex? i think those were my cousins boyfriends stuff #i guess he took em back at some point #last i heard about that cousin she was in jail wacked out on drugs #i remember her boyfriend being a good guy. i think she got him on drugs or something. bad influence i guess #i hope he's doing better now. as an adult i'd say he's too good for her #or maybe i'm just nostalgic for one of the only positive male figures i had as a child. hell if i know #tags are now longer than the actual post. i don't feel like movin em to the post now. too much work #oh well! such is life #or as the franch say... Love how we all thought Pavitr would end up getting traumatized or killed from his “Being Spider-Man is so easy!” line but then it turns out that his entire plot is about NOT having any Spider-Man related trauma

#em draws stuff #treasure island #squire trelawney #doctor livesey #selkie au #it's been long and long but I've had these two on the brain lately #and because my current fic is un-illustratable for several reasons I decided to pop back over to an old favorite #'peter kagan and the wind' has been my song for calming down lately and it's a very similar vibe to what I want out of the selkie au #it has actually been eight months since I've drawn trelawney and I've decided to change up his design after years and years #liking the new shapes (which I can actually draw well I think)#specifically right where his neck and shoulder meet - it's closer to how he's built in my head than I've ever captured before #and I've been liking the more defined pockmarks that I do on alan so I've decided to bring those over #I'd always intended for some similar stuff texture-wise on trelawney but I wasn't being very confident in it so it was difficult to see #but in the end this is just me splashing all manner of things that I like for these two into one drawing #good saturated purples and my best attempt at those mignola-esque gravestones and a try at capturing how tom harpernovakaine writes them...#this whole thing went through many moments of looking unsalvageable but in the end it is probably one of my best drawings of them #I have a very early livesey drawing stuck to the back of the ol' ipad so it's really cool to hold that up and compare how far I've come #it's been an interesting three years and I think I'm a much more confident artist now!

Conventional nightmares are scary but I think it’s the unrealistic ones that are the most scary

#the conventional ones I have are ones where people try to kill me or I kill people or do other bad things to them #or other bad things happen to me that could happen irl. but euhgh #I had such a weird nightmare #I WSS like ? on a weird ship thing with extended and being gay was like. not allowed but. I was gay anyways #and I hid it pretty well until like. suddenly at a huge fancy family dinner like? I was hashtag exposed and I tried to be like no please noo #but they were like TO THE HELL DIMENSION WITH YOU!!!! and I got sent to … s dark room with a stage and.. prom decorations?#there were other people and stuff and people onstage preforming the same thing over and over but I sat in the back bc I was pissed #also I was a borzoi. important detail😭 I remeber it because I always had to swish my tail off the chairs so I didn’t sit on it #anyways I was pissed as fuck. hal was there (the person not the character) and I was maaaaaad and it for some reason and I feel kinda bad #glitch was telling me yea ur in hell with (PEOPLE WHO DID REALLY HORRIBLE AWFUL THINGS. like. really bad.) and I was like awesome. kys #and it was like OK. don’t be like that let’s go sit at the chairs up high by the stage. and we sat on the same chair all squished 😭#everyone also had a small pack of plastic dinosaur beads that are. identical to ones that I have. and he talked to me as I fiddled with them #I was reallyyy scared because there were fucking. really dangerous people also apparently I was supposed to rot here forever.eventually hal-#-got up to strech and so did I and I sat back down ready for him to sit with me and he was like no. and I was like :? and it was like. the #the house. then glitch pointed to a small plastic house in the room like the ones for kids to play with outside and I was like oh :(#cos I thought he was leaving me and I got really sad because he was like. the only #good thing there. but it was like no. come #and I didn’t hear and I kept moping and he was like COME WITH. and I was like omg it’s talking to me.
