As promised to The People; a few sketches of the Wilson pack from my Platonic ABO story “Psychological Warecare”!!! The trio sketch is VERY much a work in progress; I need to adjust quite a few details, as well as line the entire thing. I’m also thinking of color? Choosing their individual clothing styles was a blast, up to an’ including three different types of combat boots!!! I revel in the small things, like Roy’s bracelets made by his pup (so far off-screen in the story) and Slade’s dog tags. The size differences are also cracking me up. I can’t wait to put more work into that piece.

The second piece happens in a scene unwritten in the same AU where Slade catches Roy struggling with relapse-type thoughts/fears after a string of really tough circumstances. Much aggressive encouragement is quick to follow. (I could also talk all day about the parallels between one mentor finding out about Roy’s demons with resulting anger/rage against Roy an’ another finding out with resulting anger on BEHALF OF Roy, how one is stand-against-you anger while the other is stand-with-you anger, and especially how mortifying yet healing it is at the same time for Roy to GET that reaction from a mentor after his past experiences with trust, a mentor who is a MASTER at manipulating people for evil, no less— but I won’t. Just. Agh. I am so normal about them.)

Speaching summed up the trio’s sketch pretty well from Slade’s POV. “These are my kids and I am NOT happy about it.” That, I think, explains the entire story.

this is deeply incoherent and meta but i really feel like the way fandom treats john is incredibly karmically appropriate. like, if john could somehow see the ways he’s so commonly misinterpreted as a straight up villain and used in fanfic as the convenient whumper/bad guy he’d be so horrified that his treatment of his sons lead to that impression. john in canon is abusive but he’s also complex, and he wouldn’t do a solid 90% of the things fandom happily depicts him doing. so if he could see that, if he could see all the awful things these strangers think he’s capable of, i think he’d know it was his own fault people were making those assumptions. and that’s exactly what he deserves

Wait why do so many people dislike BW and LC?

I dislike LC at times. I LOATHE BW.

My thing is that while it's never been a secret that Mando is brought to life by multiple people (at one point 4, but IDK what happened to Barry Lowin this season) - you'd think that Disney had been trying to keep it under wraps that Pedro wasn't always in the suit if you had a peek at BW's social media.

Lateef and BW are close - which makes sense, because they work much more closely - and more often - together to choreograph scenes, and they appear at conventions together all the time etc.

And stunt work is important and necessary and hard and complicated. They most definitely deserve the attention and acknowledgement that they're doing the hardest parts of the job the most often.

But Pedro has never gone out of his way to disinclude those two. He's never shied away from mentioning what they do and how hard they work and how much they've brought to the character and how they "make him look cool". He mentions them by name all the time and tags them in instagram posts and talks them up whenever possible ... but it's not the same from the other end of the line.

BW purposely leaves Pedro out of posts. BW reposts shitty and mean stories from fans and friends that purposely call out Pedro's absence or the things he doesn't do on set and then limits his comments and deletes things like a whiny little baby when people call him out for it.

The fact that he wasn't meant to be the face of the Mandalorian should not have been a shock for him, but he treats it like it was, and that's bullshit.

Pedro Pascal is the Mandalorian. Pedro Pascal is the face and the voice of Din Djarin. Pedro is the big name that drew people in when no one was sure that the show would work or not.

BW and Lateef help to make it possible for him to be that draw. BW and Lateef pick Pedro's portrayal up and elevate it in so many ways and do it safely. They are - and should act like - a team ... but it's impossible when you have one person that's constantly making digs at another, and a second that's following his lead and the third that's just trying to do his job and make his contribution to the show.

We don't know what happens behind closed doors, of course - and Pedro could be a massive asshole to BW and LC, but with everything that we've seen - everything that is posted and shown and known, he isn't. He is quick to praise and mention them. He's quick to admit that he can't and doesn't do certain stuff.

And you know what else we've seen? Shitty, childish social media posts from BW in the middle of promo cycles. Conversations that have been had during conventions where he constantly talks about himself and what he brings to the role and leaves everything and everyone else out. PURPOSEFUL exclusion of Pedro in "Mando group shots" and filming memories.

So if he's that way in public - where everyone can see it - I can only imagine what he's like in private or with people involved in the creation of the show.

He did this to himself, and it's no wonder why so many of Pedro's fans dislike him and his attitude.

Lateef is talented as hell - and the video of him choreographing and running through the Eggsy/Galahad/Whiskey fight from Poppy's diner in Kingsman TGC is one of my favorite things, because it shows off so much of what he can do.

Disgrace. You should never use political views and statements as an agenda like that and you shouldn't use it to gain popularity if you're not prepared to stand up for similar issues later on.

The impulse with judgment is usually to shame the person we are judging, to make fun of them or ostracize them. This is not an adaptive response. Especially if you have no clue who that person is in real life. I’d love to know how you would feel if everybody started pointing their fingers at you and judging you for any kind of shit.
