Some character redesigns of the Loonatics, just for fun
Optimatus and Zadavia, no big changes just adjusted their outfits to the Loonatics, as if it was a common design on their planet Granny, here she's more like a security agent for the entire planet, an ally who can assign missions to the Loonatics, her air agent Piolinus has no powers but is good at gathering information Hazel II, a direct descendant of the original witch, she is not thought as a villain, much more like an apprentice witch whose spells can get a bit chaotic time to time, her little helper Guss can shapeshift Finally Queen Tyr'ahnee with a redesign based on the Amazonas from the show, the funny thing is that I think if they made her now, those helpers she had would surely be re-thought as royal guards

Me with another fairly odd parents a new wish crossover 😨😨😨😨 it’s more likely than you think!!
Anyways I NEEDD to see someone draw, write, or animate Dev Dimmadome and Louie Duck meeting !! They’re literally the same character different font. Both are hoodie wearing, sarcastic rich kids who end getting themselves and others in trouble here and there. They both also spend WAY too much time on their phones/ipads
Like look at these clips 😭 you can not tell me that this isn’t Dev Dimmadome (it’s just a 2:39 video with all the clips)
Like you can’t watch this and tell me that this isn’t Dev Dimmadome!!/j

Duck Comic Reading Club Week 19: Trick or Treat
Tumblr media
Well, well, well, it's time to read one of the two Carl Barks comics I had pending for the club.
A month later, but let's do the Halloween comic. First time reading it, but I've saw the animated short a couple times.
Talking about the short, I was looking around, and turns out the short came first, and the comic was the adaptation. Most times is the other way around.
Also, the other stuff I know Hazel is in; Mickey and Friends: Trick or Treats, a pretty cute short, I really like the songs. And of course, her part on Ducktales 2017's The Trickering. One of my favorites.
Ok, onto the comic.
Tumblr media
Hazel is flying around, having fun scaring everyone, until she found the babies, Huey, Dewey and Louie.
They're in their classic halloween costumes, that can also be seen for a second in Mickey and Friends (Webby included). Awesome detail to have them sing the short theme song.
Tumblr media
The boys go to the next house which is Donald's. Good old uncle Donald, I'm sure he has a bunch of candy to give to his beloved nephews.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHAT THE HELL!?
For Duck's sake Donald. What the hell is wrong with you?
Hazel is just as indignated as I am, and went to face that degenerate. But, her fate was the same as the kids.
Tumblr media
Holy cow. This guy is a menace.
Hazel had enough. Is magic time. She and the boys join forces and crafted a potion, which they plan to use to give Donald a lesson.
Hazel used the potion to give life to inanimate objects, and create ghost. Her tricks work, Donald is freaked out.
Tumblr media
The duck is ready to give his candy, but Hazel called him a pushover and that brought back Donald demonic behavior.
Tumblr media
That's the face of the devil.
Hazel then disguise herself as a lady duck, and she almost succeeded. She's not the most bright, since she transformed back as soon as Donald gave her the candy. That gave the duck a chance to take it back.
Hazel decided to raise her game, and created an abomination. Her creature took the candy, but the devil, also know as Donald, had one more trick.
Tumblr media
Good lord. I know that's an ugly creature, created by magic, but man… Donald killed him. He blow him into oblivion.
Well, that's it. Donald asked for it. Hazel now casted her magic on the duck himself.
Tumblr media
The duck's legs torture him, making him hit the stove, bump into a cactus and kick himself. But Donald is such a hater that he pulled one last trick.
Tumblr media
Geez… He rather have nothing than shared. Dude, chill out man, what the hell is wrong with you?
But Hazel can play dirty too. She put Donald on an armor, that I'm not sure if she had it on her purse or is part of Donald's medieval collection.
Either way, using armor Donald as an ram, she destroy the door that hold the candy.
Tumblr media
Happy ending, the kids got their candy and Donald learnt his lesson. This is different from the short, where he remain a hater, if I recall correctly.
This was a fun story, that add some things like the monster, and makes Donald even meaner, even if he changes at the end.
But the best thing about this comic is Donald's evil laugh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's such a bastard. I love him.

☠️ 🪄 Witching Hour Lessons ☠️ 🪄
I was inspired by Mickey's Tale of Two Witches since I just had to draw this with Minnie and Daisy teaching their witch students. Later I added in Magica, Witch Hazel, Hocus, Pocus, and Roberta.

Public Domain cartoon characters from Golden Age comic books
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit going (mostly) into the public domain is a pretty big deal. In the next ten years a lot of animation from the 1930s will wind up in the hands of all artists who want to use them. But did you know there's a huge amount of cartoon characters from the 1940s that are totally free to use? It isn't just cartoons that starred on the silver screen that have fallen out of copyright. (Of course, I'm using the word "cartoon" somewhat loosely...)
See, when US copyright law was revised in 1976 and went into effect in 1978, works created before 1964 were required to have their copyright renewed before the end of 1980, or else they would become public domain. Hundreds if not thousands of Hollywood movies and other types of media had been made by studios and publishing companies that went bankrupt and were completely dissolved decades prior to this new law. This included the cartoons made by studios such as Bray, Van Beuren, and many others- but it also included comic books.
If you weren't a big comic book company like DC or Marvel, chances are you shuttered your doors sometime in the 1950s or early 1960s. And during the 1940s, with the rise in popularity of Looney Tunes, Woody Woodpecker, Tom and Jerry, and Droopy, comic book publishers were printing tons and tons of comic books starring wacky, slapstick-oriented animal characters. Most of these titles went out of copyright, and there are lots of fun and interesting characters to be found in them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the most historically notable is Supermouse. When the first Mighty Mouse cartoon premiered, he was called Supermouse, but what they didn't know was that Pines comics had already taken the name, and successfully sued for copyright infringement even though they were both parodies of Superman.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the most interesting titles I've come across is Funny Films. The conceit of the series is that these are actually cartoons you can watch in a movie theater, except it's a comic book. A bit confusing, I know.
The end result is a series of fourth wall breaks so absolutely thorough in their scope that the fourth wall really doesn't exist anymore, barring actually jumping out of the page (or your computer screen) and blowing up your living room. They talk to the audience, jump out of the screen, and even show up late for the cartoon to start. This is of course the bookends to a whole bunch of slapstick gags and goofy dialogue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another interesting series, especially if you're a fan of Archie, is Hi-Jinx. They basically took the premise of teeny-boppers in high school and made them into funny animals. Most of the stories have something to do with swing music and dancing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And although they're crudely drawn, one of the more unique character concepts is Pussy Katnip, found in various titles scattered across the mid-1940s, usually buried amongst a bunch of more normal stories with ordinary human characters. Pussy Katnip looks like one of your classic film noir glamorous beauties, except she's an anthropomorphic cat. Think Minerva Mink but feline. She may appear to be a femme fatale at first, but she's actually a crimefighter. To do this she chugs a mysterious beverage that gives her enhanced strength and intelligence. She's sort of a mystery-solving superhero.
Tumblr media
Her appearances are random and kind of hard to find. Here are the titles of the ones currently circulating online: All Your Comics (1944 issue) All Top Comics (one-shot) All Good Comics Everybody’s Comics (1944 issue) Green Mask v1 #11 Ribtickler v1 #1 All Great Comics (1945 issue) Book of All-Comics Green Mask v2 #2 Rocket Kelly #2 Zoot Comics #1
Often these comics, especially in the early '40s, remind me of the artwork of underground comics of the '70s- not quite rubberhose, not quite Looney Tunes. The kind of thing you might find on a punkabilly album cover.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And ocassionally you'll come across characters with a suspiciously familiar name:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One thing to watch out for is the occasional Donald Duck knock-off, some more obvious than others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now you may be asking: Where can I read these comics? Simple: https://digitalcomicmuseum.com/ Just be sure you have the right software to read them. I use cooViewer. Another incredibly useful resource is www.comics.org.
So if you're like me and you're too impatient to wait for Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck to fall out of copyright, and you want to do something more unusual and unexpected, there are dozens and dozens of comic books with silly, wacky characters that can be utilized in your own original stories, cartoons, and what have you- and you can monetize them too!

For the characters that weren't meant to be a person. For the characters that were made to be nothing but a plot device or a love interest or a vilian. For the characters that could never be the main characters because they are made to be side characters, they aren't made to be more than their one and only purpose. For the characters that were created for nothing but to serve a narrative. It's like loving children when their parents didn't; it's like seeing their potential when their parents saw nothing but a doll to control.

Disney’s Witch Hazel Designs “Trick or Treat” (1952)

Note
What are the origins behind Witch Hazel from 1952's Trick or Treat, and is she canon to the larger Disneyverse?
According to some of the Italian Disney Comics, hwr backstory is that she was born a witch in a place called "the Witch Country", and was sent out into the world to get people to believe in magic again.
Since she is a human in a world largly populated by anthropomorphic animals, I'll sat that the Witch Country is probably located in the Everrealm, and she's crossed over into the Ducktales reality.
Here's what she looks like for anyone who hasn't seen her before!
Tumblr media
She's in a pretty cute Donald Duck cartoon where she helps the triplets get candy from a stingy Donald on Halloween :)
