Pamela Hayden retires from The Simpsons after 36 years of voice acting multiple characters trought the series like Milhouse, Rod,Todd, Jimbo and more.
Hayden said, “The time has come for me to hang up my microphone, but how do I say goodbye to The Simpsons?……not easily.  It’s been an honor and a joy to have worked on such a funny, witty, and groundbreaking show, and to give voice to Milhouse and Jimbo Jones, Rod Flanders, Janey, Malibu Stacy, and many others.”
“Bart needed someone to talk to in the school cafeteria. We named him Milhouse because that was the most unfortunate name a kid could have,” The Simpsons creator Matt Groening said. “Pamela gave us tons of laughs with Milhouse, the hapless kid with the biggest nose in Springfield.  She made Milhouse hilarious and real, and we will miss her,”
Exec producer Al Jean joked that Milhouse was a writers’ room favorite because “most of the writers are more like Milhouse than Bart.”
Executive Producer James L Brooks added, “She is a model for having a great spirit for every cast she has been a part of. We will miss her.”
“I’ll always have a special place in my heart for that blue-haired 10-year-old boy with glasses,” Hayden concluded.
FOX, Disney and The Simpsons crew put together a sizzle reel celebrating her legacy.

Pamela Hayden announced as of today that she retired from the voice-acting industry.
She was one of the most prolific voice actors on The Simpsons, voicing iconic characters such as Milhouse Van Houten, Jimbo Jones, Rod Flanders and so much more. She had been credited for every episode since 2009.
Other voice roles include Turbo Teen, Snorks, The Tom & Jerry Kids Show, Bonkers, Droopy, Master Detective, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Hey Arnold!, Pinky and the Brain, The New Batman Adventures, Recess, Lloyd in Space and Party Wagon. She was also a voice actress for two Spyro games.
The Treehouse of Horror special Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes will serve as her performance for voice acting before retirement. However, the episode wasn’t the final produced to have her, that honor goes to Desperately Seeking Lisa being her final vocal performance. The Past and the Furious is the first episode produced with her replacements.
Although reasons for her retirement aren’t stated yet, I assume she’s retiring from the show due to her advanced age of 70, let alone becoming 71 in a week. As such, her voice box had became weakened. Hopefully though, her voices aren’t taken over by AI-generated voices because it would be seen as heartbreaking to see as such. The episode Bart's Birthday showed us that the series is against anything AI-generated. Plus, Milhouse has been a favorite among the writers, so hopefully the producers find a good sound-a-like that isn’t AI.
Hayden, we will miss you, but it’s a fantastic run! Thank you for your iconic performances, The Simpsons wouldn’t be what it is without you!
