스노클링을 하고 바다수영을 좋아하는 것은 바닷물이 좋은 것은 물론이고 물 속에서 숨을 더 절실히 느낄 수 있기 때문이다. 발이 닿지 않는 물속에서 쉬는 한숨 한숨은 생명이 허투루 숨을 쉬는 법이 없이 숨 한번으로 몸을 한번 더 움직일 수 있다는 것을 알게 해준다. 들숨과 날숨의 박자로 코부터 폐까지 숨의 길을 느끼고 그것의 리듬을 탄다. 숨에 집중하면 비로소 몸을 느끼고 어느새 모든 생각이 사라지고 몸의 리듬만 남는다. ��렇게 자연에 합일되는 순간 나는 사라지고 몸은 깨어난다. 드디어 자연의 큰 그림속에 어울리는 일부가 되어 있다.

The first time I went to Hawaii, I was 16-years old and tagged along with my best friend’s family. On day 1, my BF’s brother got some ear infection and the dad had a 3rd degree sunburn. I, on the other hand got aquatinted with Blue Hawaii’s. 😉 After a hasty trip to a clinic, everyone got meds, but I’ve never forgotten the dad lamenting, “That was the fastest $200 I’ve ever spent!” Had he never been to Disneyland? 🤣 Obvs they didn’t have travel insurance... and it could’ve been a lot worse. Amateurs. 😮 As you can see, our family loves doing ALL the things on vacay. And because I’m a former Girl Guide, I like to be prepared.
