God Of Storms Starter W/ @konoha-interrogation
Bright new eyes stared up at Ibiki, watching him with excitement. A new goddess, born just that morning, stood in front of him. She was tiny compared to the giant god but that didn’t seem to scare her off.
“You’re Ibiki,” she announced with certainty, her voice buzzing with excitement. “Daddies boyfriend.”
Behind her her dad stood staring up towards the sky. Too embarrassed to meet Ibiki’s eye.

Mistake’s Happen
Characters: Hatake-Maito Nakano, Maito Gai, Nohara Rin.
Words: 3091
For: @shinobimagpie who made two super cute requests for this event that I simply couldn’t turn down.
The person looking back at Nakano in the mirror was not her. It couldn’t be.
In place of a bright, friendly smile there was a pained grimace, and where her bushy silver eyebrows were, there was instead a violent blood-red rash.
Reaching up to touch the bruised area, she hissed when her fingers made contact with tender skin.
“Ow,” she retracted her hand. “This is not what I was planning.”
The instructions on the box were clear.
Apply wax over the desired area, smooth some paper over it, and pull. With those three simple steps, she was supposed to have waxed her eyebrows perfectly so they didn’t look like two giant caterpillars sitting overtop her eyes.
Instead, she’d somehow managed to injure herself.
“If I was a medical Ninja like Nii-san,” she grumbled, beginning to search the cupboards for something that might ease the pain. “He’d know what to do, but no. He has to be away on a mission.”
As always when she needed Hiroki the most, he was gone and she was left alone to fend for herself.
“I just need to find some cream, or maybe a bandage,” something that would cover the terrible rash smack in the middle of her forehead. “Come on, there has to be something in here.”
Shoving her dad’s razors to the side, she peered deeper into the cupboard. From her spot, she could see her papa’s wax kits, one of which was now sitting on the counter torn open and the direct cause of her problems, as well as some hidden dog treats for the hounds and a bottle of her dad’s favourite cologne.
But no matter how hard she searched, there was nothing that would help ease the burning sensation on her forehead.
“Well, shit,” she fell back onto her butt. If there was nothing in the bathroom then she’d have to check the kitchen where her parents kept the first aid kit. There was just one problem with that.
Her Papa was in the kitchen, and under no circumstance could she let him see her injury. If he did, he’d freak out.
She’d never be allowed in the bathroom on her own again.
“I’ll just have to be sneaky,” she decided. “I can do it. Papa is always busy training. He won’t even notice me.”
All she had to do was sneak into the kitchen, grab the first aid kit, and rush back to the washroom. Then she’d be able to fix this whole mess all by herself and her papa wouldn’t have to know about it.
Just the thought of him seeing her with a giant red rash in the middle of her face made her cringe, and the dread of having to explain it made her want to melt into the floor and disappear forever.
Her papa simply wouldn’t understand. He saw his eyebrows as a beautiful trait to be admired. Something that everyone should be jealous of.
He never had to listen to the other kids at the academy make fun of her for her giant ‘ caterpillar eyebrows’. The teasing never reached his ears, and it never would as long as she could help it.
“Go in, grab the first aid kit, get out,” she chanted, psyching herself up for the mission ahead of her. “You can do this Nakano. Papa won’t even notice you at all.”
Papa had noticed her.
She had barely taken five steps into the kitchen, eyes glued on his back as he fiddled with something on the counter when he suddenly spun around in his wheelchair and grinned at her.
Nakano! I was just about to be-“ the smile dropped off his face as soon as his eyes zeroed in on the giant red rash on her forehead. “Nakano, what happened!?”
Her papa was in front of her before she even had an opportunity to open her mouth and spew out some half-assed lie. His brows furrowed in concentration as he reached out to examine the rash.
“It’s nothing, papa,” she insisted, shoving his hand away when his fingers grazed against the tender skin. “I just… had an accident.”
“An accident?” Concern gave way to confusion. “What kind of accident results in an injury like this?”
Racking her brain for an excuse, she sighed when she failed to produce one that her Papa would believe.
With no other option, she settled for the only thing she could do.
Tell the truth.
“I tried to wax my eyebrows,” she whispered, hoping her papa didn’t hear her. I thought I could do it on my own. I followed all of the instructions carefully and took my time, but I guess I messed it up.”
It was hard to admit that she had screwed up something that should have been simple. She’d seen her Papa use the wax on his arms and legs multiple times before, but apparently, she hadn’t learned anything from those demonstrations.
Where he ended up with smooth, perfect skin that wouldn’t chafe against his jumpsuit, she came out with a painful rash.
“Wait,” her papa shook his head. “I don’t understand. Why would you try to wax your eyebrows?”
Shame was what Nakano felt when her Papa stared at her with concern. What she had done was something he would be upset with her for, not because she had tried something dangerous on her own, but because of her reason for doing it.
Her Papa was always telling her to never be ashamed of herself. He’d remind her every day that she was perfect just the way she was and she didn’t need to change a single thing about herself.
Yet, here she was. Standing in front of him after caving to the pressure of her bullies and trying to take away one of the few things she had in common with her papa.
Her big bushy eyebrows.
“Ah, I think I understand,” he spoke suddenly, a tender look settling into his eyes. “It was the kids at the academy, wasn’t it.”
“I-“
“You do not need to explain,” he assured her. “I was young once too. I’ve heard all of the cruel things that kids can come up with when they see these big bushy eyebrows of ours,” he poked a thumb against his right eyebrow as a smile stretched across his face. “I once tried to take tweezers to my dazzling eyebrows when I was young.”
Nakano’s eyes widened. “You did?”
“Of course,” he chuckled. “I always tried to ignore them. My papa would always say that they were just jealous of my eyebrows.”
“Then why?” She asked, a little confused about the whole ordeal. “Why would you try to change them?”
“I’d wager a guess that it was for the same reason as you,” he grinned. “The one person whose opinion matters commented, and I just couldn’t ignore it.”
She hated how right he was.
For months she had listened to the other kids tease her. She’d stood up for herself proudly and told them that her eyebrows were awesome.
She promised anyone that would listen that she would never change them, no matter how much the others made fun of her.
Then, without warning, Mirai turned around and told her that they were just a little ugly.
She was certain that her friend wasn’t trying to hurt her feelings, but she had. Hearing those words from the one person she trusted. The one kid who she enjoyed spending her time with and respected.
It was like a death blow.
All of a sudden she couldn’t get rid of her bushy eyebrows fast enough.
“Who was it?” She asked, curious about who could have possibly made her Papa feel the same way Mirai had made her feel.
“Your dad, of course,” he laughed when Nakano’s jaw dropped open. “He wasn’t always sweet to me, you know. When we were young he had quite a few opinions and he was never afraid to share them.”
That last part didn’t surprise her so much. Even today it was rare to see her dad keep his opinions to himself. The villagers often complained that he was a little too truthful, especially for a Hokage.
Bowing her head, she screwed her eyes shut. “I’m sorry, papa,” she whispered as tears rolled down her cheeks. “I know I shouldn’t have touched your wax kits. I shouldn’t have let her words get to me. I just-“
A hand came up against her cheek, offering a small bit of comfort as the tears continued to pour down her face.
“Don’t apologize,” her papa whispered as he ran his thumb across her cheek, brushing away some of the tears. “My only worry is that you injured yourself. Had you come to me first, I might have been able to help before you made such a mistake.”
Opening her eyes slowly, she stared at him through her tears. “You… would have helped?”
“Of course,” he leaned in and pressed their forehead together. “You are my daughter, Nakano. I only want what is best for you.”
“I’m sorry,” she whispered once more. “I-“
Her papa placed a finger over her mouth, silencing the rest of her words. “No more apologies. Let’s just focus on fixing it now.”
Nakano couldn’t disagree with that plan. It would be nice to ease the burning sensation on her forehead, and purhaps take care of the injury itself.
“But, Hiroki is away on a mission,” she pouted. “I like it when he heals my injuries.”
“I am well aware of that,” her papa chuckled. “But while your brother may be gone, there is someone else that is home and perfectly capable of helping.”
“Who?”
He laughed again, this time a bit brighter and a lot louder. A delightful sound filled the entire room, drowning out her sorrows completely.
“You would tell me you forgot about Rin?” He asked through his laughter. “I’ll have to let her know that.”
Auntie Rin, of course!
Hiroki would be able to heal her fine, but he’d learned all he knew about medical Ninjutsu from his mom. If there was anyone that could heal her wound fully, it was Auntie Rin.
“And I'll even ask her for an extra special favour,” her papa continued as he leaned back into his chair, a proud smile on his face. “Just wait. When your Auntie Rin is done you’ll look good as new.”
She wasn’t quite sure what her Papa was planning, but with promises like that, she couldn’t help but get excited. Perhaps, if she was lucky, she would come out of this without even a scar from her botched wax job, and a look that would make Mirai eat her words.
Healing the rash had turned out to be the easy part.
As soon as Auntie Rin showed up at the house and saw the damage, she jumped into action and quickly eased the burning so Nakano wasn’t suffering from the pain of her decision. Once that was dealt with, she pulled some cream out of her left leg pouch and applied it over the offending area.
It only took five minutes before the cream started to work and the rash disappeared from her forehead. Her auntie didn’t even have to use medical Ninjitsu to take care of the issue, which was the most amazing part for Nakano.
She’d never seen an injury being healed with just a simple cream.
“Now,” her Aunt retrieved some tweezers from the bathroom drawer. “What look are we going for today? Something simple or more elegant.”
Pondering over her options, Nakano smiled.
“Simple,” she decided, excited to see what her aunt would do with her eyebrows. Whatever the results were, she was certain that Mirai would love it. Everything that auntie Rin did was amazing, after all. “I want something that looks more like you or daddy!”
Imagining her eyebrows, she giggled. Her Papa had given her those big caterpillar eyebrows, but her daddy's eyebrows were so much smaller and easy to take care of. She never saw him taking tweezers to his eyebrows to fix them up, or fretting over whether they were getting too long.
His eyebrows were just right.
“Eyebrows like your dad,” Auntie Rin grinned. “I think I can do that.”
Nakano loved the results.
After having her eyebrows plucked and trimmed, resulting in more than a few cries as the hairs were ripped out of her skin, she stared at herself in the mirror. Instead of bushy, caterpillar eyebrows, there were thin, beautiful eyebrows that arched perfectly when she raised them.
“Auntie…” she breathed, stunned by the results.
“I don’t know, I like the originals better,” her aunt leaned over her shoulder and smiled at her in the mirror. “But, if you like them then that’s all that matters to me.”
Running a finger over her left eyebrow, she grinned. “I love them.”
“Good,” a hand came down on her shoulder. “Let’s go show your Papa the results of our hard work. I’m sure he’s dying to see them.”
The smile dropped off of her face when she was reminded that her Papa was on the other side of that bathroom door waiting to see what they had done with her eyebrows. Sitting there in his wheelchair, stuffing down whatever feelings he had about her sudden dislike of her eyebrows. Eyebrows that she had gotten from him.
“I-”
“Don’t worry,” her aunt squeezed her shoulder. “Your Papa is going to love the new look.” She wasn’t so sure about it, but with her aunt’s support and a deep breath she turned towards the bathroom door and reached out to grab the door knob.
Turning the knob, she pushed the door open and stepped out into the hallway where she was immediately greeted by her Papa’s dazzling grin. “Nakano!” He threw his arms out, inviting her into a hug. An invite which she was all too happy to accept.
Running forward, she jumped into his lap and smiled when his arms came down around her, holding her tight against her chest. “Auntie Rin is amazing,” she proclaimed, hiding her face away from her Papa. “She healed my rash so quickly.”
“She is pretty amazing,” Her Papa laughed in agreement. “I don’t think there’s a medical ninja in the world who’s better than her.”
Her Auntie laughed behind her. “I would love to hear you say that to Tsunade-sama.”
“I will,” puffing out his chest, her Papa sat up a little bit taller. “What’s she going to do, punch me?”
“I think you’d be lucky if that was all she did.”
“Well, I stand by my words,” glancing up at him, Nakano giggled when she saw her Papa staring at her Auntie with a defiant smile. “And my opinion won’t ever change. Not until Hiroki becomes a better medical shinobi than you.”
“Well, at least I know he has two people supporting his goals in surpassing me. Three, if you count Nakano, which I think is only appropriate. Wouldn’t you say, pup?”
Hearing her nickname, Nakano turned her head and grinned so wide that it stretched her cheeks. “Hiroki will be the best in no time,” she agreed. “He’ll surpass everyone. Even you.”
Auntie Rin chuckled. “And you’ll become a stronger Shinobi than both your dads, right?”
“Of course,” Nakano grinned, giggling when her Papa pressed a kiss to the top of her head. “Though, I won’t be Hokage. That job looks boring.”
Both of the adults stared at her for a moment, shock written across her face. Nakano almost thought that they were going to scold her for saying such a thing, but before she could apologize they both broke out laughing.
“I’ll make sure to let Your dad know you feel that way,” hugging her a bit tighter, her Papa winked when she glanced up at him. “Now, let me see how your Auntie did on those eyebrows.”
Nakano was still scared of the reaction he might have. Disappointing her Papa was never something that she wanted to do, but she couldn’t ignore him when he was looking down at her with such a tender, loving expression.
It would be cruel.
“I like them,” she mumbled, reaching up to touch the soft, thin eyebrows that her Auntie had worked so hard on. “They look nice.”
Her papa didn’t say a thing. He simply stared down at her with a look of concentration, withholding his judgement while Nakano sat there impatiently waiting to hear what he had to say.
She hoped that he liked them as much as she did. They may not have been the big bushy eyebrows that she had gotten from him, but they were beautiful. Perfectly sculpted to fit with the rest of her face.
“Gai-“ Auntie Rin called out to him, a frown greeting both him and Nakano when they looked her way. “Tell her you love them.”
“Well, I don’t hate them,” he answered, sputtering when Nakano averted her eyes. “I didn’t mean to say- what I’m trying to -“
“You’re so… hopeless,” Auntie Rin sighed. “You’re lucky you’re cute, you know that?”
A mischievous smile stretched across his face. “Why? Would you not have married me if I wasn’t cute?”
“I didn’t say that.”
Not liking where the conversation was going, Nakano reached up and gently smacked her palm against her Papa’s face, calling his attention back to her.
“I look pretty,” she insisted. “Auntie Rin made me look pretty. Just say it, Papa.”
His smile simmered down, returning to a more tender expression. “You are always beautiful,” he corrected her. “Just like your Auntie, and your dad.”
“You’re not married to daddy,” she huffed. “You can’t say that.”
“And who made those rules, hmm?” Auntie Rin protested. “You don’t have to be married to recognize that someone is pretty.”
“And your daddy is very pretty,” her Papa finished. “As for your eyebrows, I think they look wonderful. Rin did a fantastic job on them, just as I knew she would.”
Nakano grinned, triumphant in hearing her Papa’s compliment, even if she did have to wrestle it out of him.
“You’re pretty too, Papa,” she insisted. “With your big caterpillar eyebrows. They look better on Hiroki than they do me, but they look the best on you!”
Throwing her arms out, she wrapped them around his neck and hugged him.
“You’re the best, Papa.”
His laughter rang in her ears.
“As long as you’re happy,” he hugged her back and pressed a kiss against her left temple. “That is all that matters, Pup.”

It’s a question that Kakashi can hear so clear that Ibiki may as well spoken it out loud. A question that he had wondered when he first went to retrieve Nakano from her little river.
No.
The answer hurt more than he expected it to. Perhaps because it was Ibiki he was saying it to. The answer should have been yes. Nakano should be Ibiki’s daughter, but she wasn’t.
He couldn’t lie about that to his lover.
“She has his eyebrows,” he waved towards his own face, pointing at the thin silver eyebrows that curved over his eyes. “And… his personality. Even though she’s not- she wasn’t-“
“I just kind of appeared,” Nakano finished for her dad, giggling when he sighed with relief. Thankful to have her take over the conversation. “Him and Papa didn’t know that I was coming. I don’t think they planned for me to arrive, but-“ doing a little twirl, she grinned bright and wide. “Here I am.”
hatakefamily:
konoha-interrogation:
Ibiki’s breath caught as he froze in place, his own eyes going wide. He’d felt the new goddess’ arrival, just as they all had, earlier in the day, though he hadn’t been a part of the initial welcoming party. His size, his general demeanor… his scars… he figured it was best for the newer arrivals to seek him out, rather than simply springing his presence on them.
His gaze flicked up toward Kakashi as the child spoke entirely too clearly for her apparent age, and finding the other god’s eyes still staring very studiously at not him, Ibiki looked back down before dropping exceedingly slowly to one knee and inclining his head.
“Hello, little one…”
“Nakano,” she spoke the name she’d heard on the wind when she first opened her eyes. A name that had felt too familiar to be anyone but hers. “My name is Nakano.”
There were a few murmurs in the crowd behind Ibiki, but she paid them no mind. Whatever the others wanted to say could be heard later.
“I cane with a big long river,” stretching her arms out to either side, she grinned. “It’s a long stretch of water.”
“Like the ocean?” Rin asked, her attention focusing on the little one instead of Obito who was leaning towards her making guesses about the new goddess.
“Sort of,” placing a finger against her chin, Nakano glanced back at her dad. “Is it?”
“Not quite,” Kakashi spoke with a softness only Ibiki had heard before, in the quiet of his pond when there was no one else around. “Though it does connect to the ocean.”
“There were turtles all around me when i opened my eyes,” she giggled. “They wanted to make sure i wasn’t alone because daddy was busy.”
“Nakano,” Ibiki repeated softly. “What a pretty name.” He smiled, studying her more closely now that they were nearly on the same level. Silver hair, slight frame, sparkling black eyes… Kakashi through and through, but…
He reached up to rub the back of his neck as it prickled, his fingertips brushing through his own slightly darker shade of silver hair.
“It is very good that you weren’t alone,” he agreed, glancing up over Nakano’s head at Kakashi after the statement. “Hopefully your father -” Putting a slight emphasis on the word, enough to get his lover to look at him, “- Wasn’t too long in coming to get you.”
Now that Kakashi was meeting his gaze, Ibiki put the one question screaming through his mind into the shared connection of their black eyes…
Is she mine too, Kakashi?

1, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 40. 1 question per OC :)
1) how good is their sight? - Ayame!
Surprisingly good, possibly because she never awakens the Sharingan so there’s no eye strain on her that deteriorates her sight over time. Hikari does have a bad case of far sightedness, so Ayame gets to see her wife in cute glasses whenever she wants to read.
7) Do they prefer crowds or being alone? Hiroki!
Being alone is preferred but Hiroki is often fine in crowds. He recharges from having alone time but is very good with people and loves spending time with his friends and family.
If he were to ever marry, he’d have a space in his home that’s just him. Where he can hide away and recharge after a long day of being around people
14) do they get sick on amusement park rides? - Hotaru
No, but that’s partially because she only goes on rides she knows she won’t get sick on. Hotaru doesn’t like making herself sick so if she knows there is a risk she will avoid
Madara teases her all the time for it, but she’s fine with that. She gets him back by over feeding him and watching him go on the one ride that spins a lot
This plan has only backfired once, when Madara got sick on poor Katsura during a date
Hotaru never heard the end of it
21) have they ever killed someone? - Hikari!
Short answer: Yes
Long answer: Although she has killed her fair share of enemies, Hikari’s most memorable kill was when one of her clansmen went traitor and tried to attack Tobirama during his reign. Hikari didn’t think twice before ending his life but it really messed her up because she grew up with him.
They were part of the same clan
They were friends
And his blood is forever on her hands
28) How do they break bad news to someone? - Nakano
Bluntly. Nakano doesn’t muck about with trying to ease people’s feelings or be nice. If there’s bad news it’s bad no matter how she words it and she just wants to get it out of the way so she can support them if need be, or leave them alone if that’s what they want.
It gets her a lot of criticism but there are people who appreciate that she doesn’t sugar coat things.
35) would they take the chance to be immortal?
No. Although she has a deep fear of death, Yua still understands that is a natural part of life and all things must come to and end. She’ll fight tooth and nail to live as long as possible (and it’s the one thing her and orochimaru can agree on) but she’d never try to chest death.
40) Do they know that they are loved?
No.
Tobirama has never been good at telling his kids they’re loved and honestly neither was Izuna. They loved them, they could just never vocalize it well.
Ayame became much like her parents and prefered to show love with time and connection, rather than words
Yukio needs words. He needs to hear someone say ‘i love you’ and because he never does, he assumes that no one loves him. That he’s not wanted.
This already crushing hurt is made worse when he falls for Danzo of all people. Even if Danzo does return his feelings (which i tbh like to think he does) he’s a dick who works with insults and judgement
‘I love you’ is not something Yukio will ever hear from him.
Thank you for the ask 💜💜💜

Thinking about god of Storms au
Specificlly about Hiroki hanging out at the bow of the boat watching as animals swim on by
And how Nakano would probably come up to visit him every once in a while when the boats still on the river, always bringing her little brother a seashell or a fish’s scale (maybe even a mermaids scale) and would always tell him stories while hanging off of the side of the boat feeling the wind through her hair

Had a thought for Pokemon au.
Gai going out for a walk to clear his head shortly after Nakano is born, just trying to get his emotions under control because there’s so much going on in his head
He hasn’t even gotten a gift for his own daughter to welcome her to the world, while everyone else has
And while he’s on this walk he see’s a flash of pink and is drawn to it
He chases after it, not knowing why he’s chasing it until he gets to a clearing a see’s a beautiful pink mareep grassing in the grass
A pink mareep that doesn’t run from him when it see’s him, but instead walks right up to him and bumps its head against his leg
Gai’s not really sure what’s going on, but he decides to try his luck in catching the Pokemon.
As soon as he pulls out a pokeball and the Mareep see’s it it jumps back
It doesn’t make a run for it though, it gets into a fighting stance
It wants Gai to earn the right to catch it.
Gai is, of course, thrilled by this and can’t help but think of his husband Kakashi and his new baby girl Nakano.
His family, and how fiery spirited they are.
Gai battling that beautiful pink Mareep with his latest catch, a Pawmot, and catching it after a ling, determined battle
Looking at that new Pokeball in his hand whth his new Pokemon friend and knowing without a shadow of a doubt why he caught it
This is Nakano’s Pokemon
Her partner, and the first of many gifts Gai will give to his baby girl.

God of River’s Nakano going down to the underworld not because she has anything important to do.
Not even because she wants to visit her uncle Obito
No she’s down there purely to give Sasuke a headache, and it only takes five minutes before he’s carrying her back to her father telling him to keep her tf out if his domain
As if Kakashi has any control over what his feral child does XD

God of Storms au
Hiroki has had his little Sister Nakano for his entire life.
He calls her ‘little sister’ largely because she does not age where as he is an adult, but Nakano has been by his side since he was a baby himself
Much like her first mortal brother she would visit with Hiroki whenever he came to the river side with their Papa. She’d read him stories, make faces at him, and generally just act like a goofy big sister.
As Hiroki ages this continues, with Nakano never really changing and Hiroki never wanting her to.
When his own child passes, Hiroki goes to the river side for comfort. His Papa is still travelling so he’s not there to comfort Hiroki, but Nakano is
And the first thing she does is show him the cheerful spirit dancing in the river. The spirit of his child, who instead of going to the land of the dead found her way to Nakano and stayed there. Who now dances in a way she couldn’t during her last year of life, and smiles when she turns her head to see her dad sitting there beside Nakano watching her.

Thinking of Nakano going through a ‘Princess phase’ and Kakashi snd Gai being the most supportive parents EVER for her princess themed birthday party.
Gai’s dressing up in full Princess get up. He has the crown, the dress, the gloves, and even learns how to curtsy to really perfect the look
Kakashi roles up at the royal knight and makes sure to spoil his husband and Daughter and act as their perfect protector the entire time
