Their real names are Eimi Misako and Eimi Kana, and we also found the remains of an adult man in a public park. They're a solid match for Eimi Kotetsu, the last member of this family.

They went missing about 8-10 months ago, which matches up with the time frame the real Ise Kana has been out of the country.

Shirogane had been planning the long con for this one. She hit the area they were living with her algae, and completely manufactured new identities for them.

And for extra credibility, she tied those fake memories with ones she made up for me and Tenmei.

You'd be amazed how much shit is available about celebrities when you go searching! I had everything I needed to create a perfect facsimile of Ise Kana! One so good that nobody on the island even realized!

But I needed someone who had a decent resemblance to her, since I'm not a plastic surgeon. Turns out I got pretty lucky and found someone who was nearly identical.

But of course, her backstory needed a little spicing up here and there.

Seiyuus like Ise Kana are basically idols. There's no way someone like her would've been living in poverty or had any reason to go to that stupid island.

And guess what? Now that I had time to sit down and check, the only copies of your DNA I could find were in her blood. Everything else matches Misako-san's DNA, and I'm willing to bet any DNA I can pull out of Kotetsu-san's bones will be the other half.

If I remember, we decided to give all the information related to Utsuro's family to Sachiko's guardian, but first, we need to check it and make notes on whatever important information we can find on them (And then hide that information somewhere if case Void decides to visit).

I honestly wouldn't blame her for getting pissed. What Nagito said earlier was uncalled for, dude. But at least it would be nowhere near as bad compared to the absolute roasting he would get if that was Chiaki's mom he was talking to.

No, I have not? Is she highly famous or something? Because I know that Chiaki comes from a rich family, but I never understood how she reached that level of success at all. Care to elaborate on that fact?

Well, let's just say that in 1980, an infamous murder happened at the Takamatsu Junior High School in Toyko. It began like any other normal school day, but the homeroom teacher for Class 2-B, Mizuki Yumiko didn't show up for class that day.

S-So what happened to her? Did they ever find where she was?

Eventually, they did, just... not in the way everyone was expecting. She was found dismembered, with her body parts placed into separate trash bags near the school incinerator, most likely to dispose of the evidence as quickly as possible.

The police were stumped on how to conduct the investigation, even when one of the bags was opened and discovered by two students. One of the students managed to piece together who exactly committed the murder and led the police to the killer, a disgruntled former student of Mizuki.

That quick?! I would've expected an investigation to take months to piece together, yet she solved that in just a few seconds!. How is that even conceivably possible?!

Trust me, I have no idea how she did it, but within a day after solving the murder case, Harumi became the police's best forensics investigator, despite being a woman. In fact, she's probably the main reason why the police force hasn't utterly collapsed on itself due to the political and societal backlash it's been getting since the '60s.

My underlying theory is that they're keeping her within the confines of law enforcement simply because of her unique and incredibly talented abilities as a forensics expert. After all, not many people can hold the claim of having solved and deduced 450 cases before in the span of four to five years.

HOW MANY?!

F-Four hundred and fifty?! B-But that's unrealistically impossible!!

Nope, it's entirely realistic and believable for someone like her to accomplish that. She even formed a crew of some of the most well-renowned, highly skilled, and accomplished members in the law enforcement world, consisting of the police commissioner's son, his best friend, a lawyer, and the heir to the Kirigiri Clan, under her leadership.

She's so well respected in fact that she even received two medals from not only the Prime Minister but also the Purple Heart from United States President Ronald Reagan himself, alongside Class 49, due to her contributions to fighting for the free world and her severe crackdown on narcotics and drug trafficking, despite her being from the Reserve Course.

You're joking, right? This can't be real. It can't! There's absolutely no possibility that one person managed to accomplish the record of 450 CASES in the span of a decade, but also got awarded two highly prestigious medals by the Prime Minister and by Ronald Regan of all people! And being from the Reserve Course no less!! I'm... speechless right now.

I mean, that's why they call her names like "The Terror Of Toyko" for a reason, I guess? But she's really an incredible person and kindhearted as well from what Chiaki described of her.

Now, I bring this all up due to this simple fact: With a reputation as infamous and highly feared among multiple crime syndicates and criminals the world over as Harumi, whilst still being a member of the Reserve Course, you would think somebody would learn how to give respect to talentless people coming from the Reserve Course, but Nagito unfortunately doesn't understand that.

So what you're basically saying is that Harumi is most likely going to absolutely murder Komaeda the moment he utters even a single sentence about his beliefs on talent and the Reserve Course to her, correct?

Yep! I don't think she'll resort to murder, as that isn't what it appears like from a distance as well as considering her position in law enforcement, but considering Komaeda's statements earlier, she's going to be less than pleased if she meets him in person. Picking a fight with someone as insecure as Hajime is already low for your reputation, but picking a brawl with someone who has incredibly close ties to the legendary Class 49?

Yeah, Nagito's basically screwed himself over at this point. There's no doubt about it, it's just a matter of time before he'll eventually get his comeuppance.

chapter three pt.2 summary. “Should you be fighting?” Her father’s voice croaked, she was shocked to see his disheveled state. Green eyes surrounded by red due to tiredness, the bags under his eyes were obvious. Grey — previously blond — hair messed up, as if he had been running his fingers through it. His clothes were messy, and surprisingly he didn’t smell of alcohol. “You look like shit,” was the first thing she said to him. Her voice just as broken, her throat felt dry as she stared at him, he was worried? He looked worried. He snorted in response, shocking the girl further, was she still dreaming? This was one hell of a nightmare if she was. “What happened to you?” He asked, his eyes serious.

The first task had gone by easily, there was barely any fights between the Kyoto and Tokyo students, if Harumi had to guess it would be because the year earlier Satoru and Suguru had humiliated the Kyoto class. Right now they were all sitting around the room Nanami had been given. Harumi asleep on his bed, exhausted after taking out the third Special Grade curse in the forest. Everyone else talking in hushed voices, the spike in cursed energy when she and the Special Grade clashed was overwhelming and dark. As if they were stuck in a nightmare.

The task had finished quickly, the teachers from both Kyoto and Tokyo rushing into the forest to see what had happened. They were all startled when they saw a passed out Zenin Harumi on the ground, black vein-like streaks under her skin as Shoko struggled to figure out what happened with her. They had rushed her to the infirmary, setting the fifteen year old on the bed before her father stormed in. Worry —Satoru wouldn’t call it that, but there was no other word for the look in his eyes— written over his face, or was it confusion as well.

A massive surge of cursed energy had choked him, he recognised it immediately. The Gojo and Kamo clan heads were startled as he shot up and rushed away, tracking the energy from his daughter.

Nanami watched her silently, he insisted that she stayed in his room where he could stay with her. Make sure she wouldn’t wake up alone, Suguru had agreed immediately, having learnt the hard way what nightmares the girl he found himself infatuated with went through. Never did she tell but he knew it was bad. Haibara sat silently, which disturbed everyone who knew the sunshine boy. If this were anyone else he would be trying to make them smile and reassure them, but this wasn’t anyone else, it was her. Her, who saved his life countless times. 

Shoko was cearly disturbed by the lack of injuries her friend sustained, surely if she was in some kind of coma there would be something. Suguru sat on a chair in the corner of the room, arms crossed over his chest as his dark eyes stared at his friend — infatuation. Satoru, he seemed to be taking it the worst. He had refused to leave her side at all, holding her hand as he sat on the floor beside the bed, head resting on the side of the mattress. 

No one talked, no one moved. 

The sound of faint breathing kept them all sane, knowing that she was still alive. But the real question here, what the hell was going on?

Naobito had left immediately after checking on the girl, only saying “I’ll figure it out.” Before disappearing to the Zenin estate to search the library at the estate for answers, the man was more confused as time went on. Sorting through old archives, servants scurrying around him to help search. This was the most worried the man would be about Harumi and his daughter wasn’t even awake to see it. Her brother, her twin brother hadn’t even batted an eye when he found out. Though they all knew she wouldn’t care.

How long had it been? Six hours or so since the start of her coma-like state. Not a single twitch or movement came from the girl. Shoko had fallen asleep on the couch by the door, Haibara leaning on her shoulder asleep as well. Suguru was falling asleep slowly, blinking slower and longer than usual. Nanami just stared, unblinking, waiting for her. Satoru doing the same, squeezing her hand every once in a while in an attempt to let her know she wasn’t alone here.

The white haired boy couldn’t help but think back to his promise, “I’ll never leave you behind.” He grinned and locked his pinky with hers, “I swear.”

He wasn’t sure if he had broken it, but it sure as hell felt like something was broken.

The servants were startled by the sudden bang as the doors to the estate opened, to reveal the Head of the Clan himself. He didn’t speak only stormed off towards the main building where the library was located, slamming more doors open and shut. The path cleared as he walked, people clearing the path for him.

Naobito was not keen on loosing a possible powerful heir. It had been far too long since the Zenin Clan had been on top, and despite his reluctance to keep his daughter anywhere near him, he had to put on the act.

“Bring me all the technique archives,” he ordered someone as soon as he walked through the fancy doors of the library. The librarian — some regular nobody — nodded and hurried off to grab an old thick book. A book the Zenin’s recorded their techniques, new techniques. The last time he had seen this book open was the day Harumi was born. Naoya had inherited Naobito’s technique, as they had learnt by the time the boy turned ten. But Harumi was different.

Her power was nightmare fuel, he had seen it first hand. The shadows in her room always stared at him, he felt uneasy when she was using her technique. 

He remembered a drunk him strolling past her room at one in the morning. He heard cries, cries he knew all too well. Curiosity got the better of drunken him. He slipped his hand around the golden door knob, turning it ever so slightly only to be met with a shadow wall blocking his path. Pressing his hand against the dark wall, watching as it ripples in effect to his touch before it swallowed his hand, dragging him through the barrier of shadows. He stared in wonder at his crying daughter, curled into a ball, still very asleep. Her technique works in her sleep? He remembered thinking to himself. Tears streamed down the young girls face, black veins in her neck. He recalled her being in a coma for a month before she woke up, the dark veins gone from her skin by the time she awoke.

He flipped through the old book, skimming over anything that was remotely similar to Harumi’s technique. “Nothing,” he scowled. “How is there nothing?” Servants around him paused, waiting for an angry outburst but nothing came.

Zenin Naobito was many things, cocky, angry, scary, a monster. But he was a great strategist, he knew how to keep calm, much to everyone’s surprise.

He read through techniques of his ancestors, reading them over and over again. Nothing, nothing, nothing.

Suguru shot up when he heard a gasp, immediately alarmed by the sudden sound. Everyone stirred awake, blinking at a now conscious Harumi. Satoru was the first one to check on her, the white haired boy standing upright beside the bed, pestering her like a mother. Suguru stared at the girls hands, black veins like the ones on her neck running through her fingers. Her skin was cold and Satoru flinched resisting the urge to pull away from the chilly feeling. He pulled her — Nanami’s — blanket higher to cover her. Snatching the hoodie the blond offered and pulling it over the girls head, overprotective, Suguru thought.

“Hot,” she muttered, pushing his hands away to keep him from putting the hoodie on all the way. “Too hot,” Satoru raised a brow. 

“But—“ he tried to protest but Nanami cut him off. “She doesn’t want it, leave her.” Satoru sighed and dropped the hoodie on the edge of the bed. “Fine.”

”Everyone out,” Shoko demanded, Suguru understood and stood up immediately, dragging a half asleep Haibara out the door of Nanami’s room. Nanami and Satoru protested but cut themselves off when they met Shoko’s glare, both light haired boys standing up and walking out of the door.

Shoko closed the door before sitting on the bed beside Harumi, the younger girl instinctively leaning into her friend. “What happened?” Normally the victim of a coma would be asking but in this case it was Shoko.

”It’s— it’s complicated.” Harumi whispered, shutting her eyes. “I think this has happened before… how long was I—“

”a couple of hours, what do you mean this has happened before?” Shoko answered and asked, sighing when she saw her friends face, “you don’t have to say it.” Harumi only nodded in response, pulling Nanami’s blanket tighter around her.

Shoko pointed at the black veins running through the girls skin, “do you know—“

“no.” Harumi mutter, “I don’t.”

Shoko nodded, getting up and opening the door to leave. "Shoko?" 

She turned around, "only Kento please.." The older girl simply nodded and shut the door, there was another commotion outside the room, sounds of Satoru's protest and Suguru sighing, Haibara asking questions and the door opened again.

"Hey," Nanami whispered, moving closer to the bed and she felt it dip before wriggling over to make room for him. The blond simply hummed and laid down beside her, "you're gonna be okay. I promise."

She sat on the couch bored as her father droned on about the next task. 1v1 fights, Tokyo vs Kyoto. The first round was Suguru vs some Kyoto nobody, and she could see the disappointed look on the Kyoto students face, as if they new they were going to lose to him.

Her eyes scanned over the gold patting on the wall, all of their names paired with a Kyoto student they were meant to fight. She was fighting second, she stared at the wall, Zenin Harumi vs Kamo Inori. She locked eyes with the boy she was meant to fight, he was already watching her.

She had fought with her teachers to be allowed to fight. Her sensei grinned and backed her up earning an irritated groan from the Kyoto and Tokyo principals who both reluctantly agreed. Harumi was snapped out of her thoughts when her father’s voice called out her name, she looked around the room and realised that everyone had already left.

They stared at each other in an awkward silence, “I should get ready.” She turned away from him, walking past her classmates and towards her seat under the shade. The Zenin head walked towards his seat as the match started.

Suguru’s fight was boring, and lasted less than thirty minutes. Satoru had draped himself over two seats arrogantly, with Shoko sat beside him and Harumi sitting between Nanami and Haibara looking nearly as bored as her friends. Suguru smirked proudly as he walked back towards them, pushing Satoru’s legs off the spare seat and sitting down. 

A Kyoto teacher helped their beat up student towards the school nurse before another teacher called out the names of the next match. “Zenin Harumi and Kamo Inori.”

A loud cheer loud cheer from her friends — minus Nanami — erupted as she stood up and made her way onto the dirt field. She eyed the Kamo boy in front of her with the same distaste as he stared at her with. “Zenin.” The boy scoffed down at her when they met in the middle to shake hands. 

She raised a brow in response, “Kamo.” Their hands encased each others before they shook it and took ten steps away from each other as commanded. Harumi looked up at the sky, the sun was blazing down at them and she sighed in relief. Turning to look at the Kamo, ears buzzing as he activated his blood technique by pressing his palms together. The shadows in the corner near her friends shot out in thin tendrils towards her feet.

The two clan kids stared each other down before lunging at each other when the announcer said ‘go.’ Harumi pushed herself up into the air scowling when he followed her up, a few gasps were torn out of the crowds mouths when the heel of Harumi’s foot slammed down into Inori’s shoulder, propelling him into the ground. She landed next to him before he kicked her legs, causing her to loose balance and fall on her back. 

She swore under her breath when she saw the shit-eating grin on Satoru’s face before she was back on her feet, dodging a punch from the Kamo. A few minutes later the fight was pure martial arts mixed with cursed energy, the two going all out in hand to hand combat.

She could see her opponent tiring out, his punches getting sloppy and his blocking getting slower. She was equally exhausted when she exhaled loudly, clutching her stomach from where he hit her with a lot of cursed energy. The two glared at each other, obviously evenly matched when they lunged for the last time, his fist brushing past her fast as her hand pressed against his shoulder and her eyes were consumed by black. The Kamo boy felt his heart sink as he watched her eyes stare into his, and his body was incased by a shadow cocoon. He spat up blood into her face when she slammed her elbow into his stomach.

She watched as he blacked out, head dropping to the side beside her knee. Her chest heaved as she was lifted to her feet and the shadow cocoon faded away. “Winner, Zenin Harumi!” She lifted her head up to stare into her brothers eyes, relishing in the way he glared and his jaw clenched at the sight of her winning.

She turned away from the sight of her brother fuming and walked back to ear set next to Nanami and Haibara, dropping into the seat and yawning. Nanami snorted when her head dropped onto his shoulder, “had fun?”

“Sure,” she hummed. “So much fun.”

I’ve meant as in your favorite parent characters in the blogs!

Oh okay, I thought that was the case but you can never tell.

In terms of dads the best dadas are firstly Tenemi Nanami. An easy one as he's probably the best dad due to how much of a joy he is, he ensures his daughters, whenever that be Chiaki or Nagi are safe, and he has a wicked sense of humour.

Second is Hiroshi Hinata as while doesn't get as much screentime as Keiko does, he is a delight to see all around and he makes the best dad jokes. Hajime you need to learn them.

And my final good dad choice is one from DTFA and that's Miriko Nevermind. He is the reason Sonia loves the occult so much and plus he has a awesome design as he's basically ASGORE!

Now onto mothers once again the Nanamis take the crown here as Harumi Nanami comes right in. She has been such a boss as she owned All Eyes on Me and The Price of Fate, and also Old Ghosts. Put her against an enemy and they will go DOWN, you better watch out Shirogane as I think Harumi would be ready for round 2 in Dianthus Memory.

I of course have to mention Erina Nidai as while she's good in DTFA with how she tells off Satoko her real shine is in ASOOT when she becomes the mother that Nikei needs in his life. She's a key reason why Nikei doesn't become the angry control freak he normally is in canon and we are all here for it.

And my final best momma is though she is a terrible mother but by god is she so sympathic is Ui Kerumi. Now she is a bad mother and doesn't raise Jataro probably but was it her fault? No it was Hashimoto who decided to do the nasty thing with her and make her pregnant. And she does regret how she treated Jataro in the mind. In ASOOT she was able to get help and now is being treated and has a friend in Iroha. in DTFA naturally she died beforehand but was able to find peace and move on in the afterlife, after she gave me a nice tip for filling up her popcorn. Hey I need to earn money somehow!

But yeah those are my parental picks. This was harder then I thought because we don't see much of a lot of parents so I had to really think here.

This arc did a really good job at building her up as this powerful evil who lasted for DECADES in both the og timeline and the good future timeline and ruined all of the hero’s progress and still winning even after defeated

Excited to see her defeated and the cast getting some well deserved rest afterwards!

The bad arc Mod Bubbles made, the one Anon is referring to, would be Oncoming Storm, generally considered to be the worst arc of the entire blog, when it was revealed that Kyoji was helping the people who kidnapped Mahiru and Hiyoko, and Umeko was blocking the Anons from letting the others know. Though Bubbles himself would give the title of Worst ASOOT Arc to Twisted Sister. Also, no writer of any kind is flawless. Everyone has their bad moments, even the pros. So don't get wrapped up in your own mistakes. Especially when you're just starting out

Coming to Terms with Citrus

Before we get into this Wednesday’s topic, I need to put out a disclaimer so that we’re on the same page. What I am about to say is coming from a place that takes the story at face value. I am NOT good at this, and I will definitely get things wrong. So please, 

Go NUTS in the comments...(No, really. Please share your thoughts after this. Help me know what I got wrong.) 

I put off writing my thoughts on this particular series for many good reasons. For a start, I am but just a straight man and given that I’m about to judge a series about two lesbians....It doesn’t look like a good sign for me. But, seeing as how I have been joining several groups and observing comments towards this particular subject. 

I feel like I can finally make a good statement as to what my thoughts are for this series while explaining a little deeper in regards to the audience this series has attracted. Let’s discuss...

- < Citrus > by Saburouta -

< Citrus >, if you didn't know. Is an infamous Yuri incest Manga that follows our first main character, Yuzu. (the blonde) whose mother just remarried to a man and said man has a daughter who is of the same age as Yuzu. Upon her first day of attending the new school that she was transferred to, Yuzu unknowingly ran into the student council president; Mei (the ravenhead) who to her shock, turns out to be her new stepsister.

As a lovely time of first night bonding over what’s it like to kiss someone. (He says sarcastically) They did...THIS.

While this isn’t the only series that involves Yuri (Girl’s love) and Incest. It was my personal introduction to what the Anime community considers as “trashy fan-service shows” Given that the Anime ended with a cliffhanger. I decided to read the Manga to give it a chance of redemption.

Believing myself to have gone through heaven and hell over this very series. I wondered to myself. Despite it being “trash”, why can’t I look away from it? After joining several forums and interacting while observing the community. I think I’ve developed several theories.

- Just Cute Girls, Doing Cute Things -

A little archaic as a pointer but, its just the truth. Upon first impressions, the creation of Saburouta is just plain pretty. From the settings to the main characters, to the designs of the supporting roles like Matsuri, Harumi and Himeko. Even the one-off characters like Sara and Nina are just as pretty.

But at its core, < Citrus > is a very lackluster and fan-service series with little to no substance to the actions of certain characters with an all too vile display of invasive scenes and moments between certain characters. From Mei’s tendency to non-consensually attack Yuzu, to Matsuri getting all too close to both MCs on occasions. In summary, just a Gay old time!

For context, I read the series for a whole three days and while reading. I can’t help but feel that the drama feels hollow and the ending (trying not to bring up spoilers) was unearned. While I may have not struggled with questioning my preference, I do understand some of the reasons as to why Yuzu and Mei chose to keep their relationship hidden from their family and friends. 

Chalking it up as just “being very close to my step-sister” Adding on, if the situation was a real-life incident. It would get very messy and awkward during family gatherings.

Several forums speculate that while Saburouta’s intent was to make a wholesome Yuri with incidental Incest. She had to make more “commercial” changes to ensure that the series sells. As an old marketing saying goes “sex just sells” 

While that is based on purely speculation. Its not that strange of a theory. Romance in any shape or form is always exaggerated in media. (Just ask the heteronormative ones) Like it or not, by creating more raunchy scenes between the characters. < Citrus > managed to make bank and with the anime in the works while the manga is nearing the finale. 

Uta was given the confidence to take the narrative deeper with a more liberating direction in < Citrus Plus >. Expanding on what happened in-between the several last chapters and removing the raunchy tendencies little by little. On the forum, several commentators recommended a stark contrast when compared to < Citrus > The critically acclaimed Yuri Manga; < Bloom Into You > by Nio Nakatani.

- A Modern Yuri Fight -

When discussing the more modern Yuri scene, < Citrus > is often compared to < Bloom Into You >. Which is not surprising since the respective Anime’s came out on the same year in 2018 under different seasons. (Citrus on Winter and Bloom Into You on Fall) 

As a comparison, The relationship with the MCs; Touko and Yuu (the light pink haired girl) are far healthier and less invasive. The series is less fan-service and more about the characters discovering themselves and learning the meaning of love. To prevent myself from ranting, I highly recommend < Bloom Into You > to new audiences of the Yuri manga scene but for the sake of this post. Let’s just say while it may not be perfect, its just better.

As for the fans of both series, we are well aware as to why and how it is better. Instead of invasive fan-service incest, we have a cute one-year-older senior and junior relationship with friendly banters and teasing. As a bonus, we also have a rather complex and relatable character like Yuu. (Further expansion required)

Needless to say, I’m a far bigger fan of how unpreachy < Bloom Into You > was. Showcasing the romance itself as just simply...love. Here in lies our second problem. < Citrus > and < Bloom Into You > are two very different stories centered on just the fact that WE the audience, classify them as Yuri (Girl’s Love).

Like comparing apples to oranges, < Citrus > feels like something written for an audience that fetishizes same gendered relationships while < Bloom Into You > feels a lot more relatable and realistic to actual people who too, struggle with their preference. Pealing away the fetish aspect and making it about the internal turmoil's of a complicated character. As mentioned in an old post of mine;

Being queer in real life is complicated and is often met with prejudice and strong judgement. In some countries, you could even die just for being queer so, to see queer characters being represented in a certain media or to even watch a character learn to come to terms with their preference is a proud thing.

That being said, it still doesn’t answer the main question. What was the theory? Pretty characters, questionable motivations stacked with the issues of how the industry views romance in any form. It sounds like there is no salvage to this ship. For that, we will have to turn to Uta’s newest addition; < Citrus Plus >

- I Want to Love -

When joining the forums about the Yuri scene, I managed to stumble across this question to the followers and members of said community.

“Why is it difficult to be a straight person but liking same gendered relationships, even if it’s from a Manga?” 

The question may sound like an odd Segway but to entertain the idea. I decided to read the comments to get an inkling as to what the discourse thinks. By pure observation, there is an issue of the audience hypersexualizing same gendered characters and relationships which speaking from experience, can warp our perception to the subject. 

The problem with say, a straight male liking Yuri manga or Yuri media despite it being just a piece of media one prefers to consume. May come across as a viewer seeing what they consume as all that it is. A Fetish. While unintended and its no fault to someone like say, Saburouta. It is after all, a piece of public media. How the audience interprets it is up to them.

That being said, some of us just like warm, fuzzy, less angsty romance stories. I personally, am a hopeless romantic as mentioned in [The Thing With Shipping] But even I have moments where I fall into this tendency of shipping two female characters together, way too hard that it becomes very dangerous. At the same time, Even I have standards as to what makes a ship good.

< Citrus > was a tough spot for me personally because while it is a pretty looking Yuri. Its core plot and resolves are extremely questionable with hollow substance as to why I should support the ship itself. But, thanks to the addition of < Citrus Plus > The audience, (or the ones who stayed because they are completionist. cough* ME!) The relationship between Yuzu and Mei becomes a little bit more understanding. I still hold my initial comments the same as I did after catching up to < Citrus Plus> until I realized something through one picture.

Out of context, this is just a typical fluffy fanart to tug on the viewer’s heartstrings but when you are like me, someone who is invested in the series from the very beginning to its current state. You’ll recognize it more. The works of Saburouta IS IN FACT, an incest Yuri...but so much more. 

Its about Mei finally being able to open up her heart to someone after being cold and distant for so long. Its Yuzu learning to come to terms with herself and the love she had for her step-sister and partner. Its Mei being able to find genuine comfort with Yuzu and vice versa.

Its about acceptance to one’s feelings while also being aware of the messed up situation that they’re in. Its the character’s respective turmoil being put to rest and them finally given peace with themselves after the various obstacles they had to go through. A quick PSA;

For a messed up story, < Citrus > is perhaps similar to the likes of a < Domestic Girlfriend >. An all too fictional-but-could-be-real drama that just keeps getting more interesting and we can’t turn away from it. After struggling to find a proper statement as to why I liked and hated this series at the same time. I think I may have found my defense.

In the end of the day, for all the messed up moments they bring us. We just want to see them happy. I want to see them happy. What I've learned to come to terms with < Citrus > is that, just as how a good story can have messed up moments. A messed up story can also have some good moments. In fact, I liked some of the more tender moments Yuzu and Mei shared every once in a while. Yes, I am aware that there are stories out there with better representation.

I STILL feel the same as I did with the overall plot and I believe that the ending was still, heavily unearned, but this series truly was much less about the ending and more about the journey. The series < Citrus > has now become a household name for "Trashy fan-service Yuri" consumers will always have a strong opinion for which I will like and strongly critique, always.
