Also: things "falling into the hole." When I had my repressed memories, at first they were of a finite period, but then they expanded. I started to lose things on both sides of that timeline as well. Just... the awareness that I'd known something yesterday, and where it went, but no idea what to do about it, because I was pretty sure the initial set were blocked for a reason and I didn't want them back.

When I did get them back, I had to deal with guilt as well as all the things that resurfaced because I was right, it wasn't just the bad shit I'd forgotten, there were bright spots in the immediate vicinity of those things that I'd forgotten too.

I'd forgotten entire people, I'd forgotten the only good people, and it felt like an insult or a disservice to them for my memories of them to have been erased too. The feeling I got wasn't quite impostor syndrome, but I felt like a "bad" trauma victim for "ignoring" the like. 3 people who had been good to me.

Enough of the trope where memory loss undoes the damage or the corruption or whatever. More content where removing memories just removes the context.

The tragedy of needing to grieve and not knowing what or who you lost or why. The angst of having trauma and being denied the awareness that it's trauma. The suspense of being different somehow and left to wonder how and when. The tension of knowing that something is off and you can't find where it hurts. The Adventure Zone gets it. Kingdom Hearts gets it.

There is an aching inside you and you don't know how it got there.

Welp, if JK Rowling being executive producer and therefore being fully involved in the show wasn't enough for people to boycott, then here's HBO basically saying they don't care JK Rowling is a bigot from hell who literally helped lead a harassment campaign of lies against Imane Khalif in her transphobia and obsession with women being terf's standards of women alongside posting harassment against trans people on twitter at times, they gonna stand by her, while using the excuse, "personal views". Hmm, yes, personal views- that's one way to uh, call what the fuck JK Rowling comes out with a-lot- last I checked personal views do come with consquiences if said out loud....a thousand times in JK's case and still counting....especially if they hurt people, but hey, if it means making another Harry Potter project to milk, just let it fucking be I guess.
