I cannot believe it took this long, and I can believe it even less that so many people have continued to follow us over such a lengthy development. Support for our team and the game has never wavered no matter how much time has gone by. That's something I'll always appreciate regardless of what happens in the future.

So I was going through your blog (again) and found some of your stuff mentions fsau Raz having ADHD, as somebody with adhd I’m intrigued, may I have some of those headcanons (canons??) related to that? Also, I would give “a penny for your thoughts” but I’m out of pennies, so here’s various images of a drawing of ur blorbo I put next to my animals, note that a rock had to be added in one picture to keep him from flying away (BONUS: his now permanent place with the wifi guardian frog)

NOTHING brings me more joy than seeing physical drawings of these guys, like, out and about. in situations. thank you for this gift, and ALSO for the great ask because it's a perfect chance to ramble

so first of all, canon Raz having ADHD is very real to me. he's constantly fidgeting and moving around, getting distracted by sidequests and scavenger hunt objectives, always talking to himself out loud, gotta write everything down so he remembers it because there's so much to DO!, running away from home because his dad yelled at him one time and now Raz assumes he must hate him forever... i could go on, but i think there's a lot of room for interpretation there!

in my headcanon, he never got diagnosed as a kid. maybe there were some notes about it in his reports each year, sure - but a little hyperactivity and distractability never seemed to slow him down. he excelled in lessons and on missions, and when he was with his family their performances gave him something to focus that energy into. it was only really when he turned 18 and graduated to a full agent that the cracks started to show.

because there's a big difference between the responsibilities you have as a minor, and the responsibilities you have as an 18-year-old living away from home! one who's expected to cook and clean for themselves, and take care of adult life stuff, and also work the 9-to-5 office job he's just graduated into that involves sitting in front of a computer and write reports all day.

short-term, he found he could get himself to power through a deadline with energy drinks and psi-pops (a lot of psi-pops...)

long-term, something had to give. he was working himself to exhaustion, constantly stressed, swinging between days spent staring at his computer screen doing nothing and all-nighters desperately trying to finish his paperwork before the deadline. it just didn't make any sense to him. he'd finally started his job as a Psychonaut, he was living independently like he'd always dreamed, he'd gotten top surgery after planning it for so long. he should have everything he ever wanted. why wasn't he happy?

following a deep post-surgical depression, about a month before his 19th birthday Raz was living out of his car, couch-surfing or sleeping in his office. he got kicked out of his apartment after falling behind on bills and rent. it wasn't that he didn't have the money, it was all just too much for him to stay on top of.

he'd probably have stayed in that misery hole for a lot longer if Frazie hadn't marched into his life and demanded he let her help him move into a new place, or she was telling mom that he was homeless. together, they sorted through all of his possessions from the last place - everything that had been hastily shoved in his car, or tossed in a box in his office, piled in a heap that was giving him anxiety even looking at it.

things do get better for him from there.

when he eventually explains things to Hollis, she gently suggests that he should get a roommate. he ends up moving in with Phoebe, and they become pretty good friends after a couple months! something about having another person around to help do the chores and wash the dishes and share the space helps, even if it takes him a while to admit it.

he gets his ADHD diagnosis, and finding the exact right medication and dose is a journey he's still on years later - but they're a huge help in getting him to actually knuckle down and finish his work on time. and the whole thing ends up being a chance for him to take a step back and really think about what he wants to do with his life. he'd always assumed that being a Psychonaut was his dream, but he'd never really reckoned with what that dream would look like before.

in the end, he sticks with it, but also decides to follow Lili's example in branching out. he applies to study a part-time Bachelor's in Psychology on a remote course, and gets accepted. juggling missions and paperwork and study and relationships (because the whole thing made him realise he also wasn't setting aside any time for himself, and wow, dating is a thing) is a lot - but he manages to figure it out, day by day.

(Lili comes back to the Psychonauts after graduating. she and Raz have both changed a lot over those four years, but on their first mission together they hit it off like a house on fire - and the rest is history!)

There was supposed to be another panel of the two of them celebrating Laudna’s birthday:

Panel 5: It's Laudna's birthday, or as close to it as she can remember. The remains of an iced gingerbread cake with a candle on it is on the table, with crumbs on both of their plates and a little slice set out for Pâté on a saucer. Laudna is exclaiming in delight over the collection of calico fabric squares for quilting Imogen has given her.

In this continuity she has a Duscar birthday; both here and in Remember Us she mentions that the fatal dinner party, which most likely took place on one of the last days of Cuersaar since Vox Machina rolls into Whitestone on 2 Duscar to discover the aftermath of it, happened just a few weeks before her 20th birthday. (How kind of the Briarwoods to host a fancy party just for her!)

However, when I went back to the Encyclopedia Exandria article on the Exandrian calendar to get a better idea of when I had meant for it to be I realized something I’ve been totally overlooking all this time: Marquet is in the southern hemisphere and has opposite seasons! So even though it’s winter for them now Laudna’s birthday is actually half a year a way. (And incidentally probably close to Imogen’s, since I had envisioned a summer birthday for her.)

But since Winter’s Crest is not a Marquesian holiday and they could theoretically celebrate it whenever they wanted, I figured I could keep that panel as it is and just let the one about her birthday go (or move it into the next chapter, which takes place in the summer). That panel is largely lifted from my fic Come In From the Cold, in which Imogen goes all in on Winter’s Crest to make Laudna happy. So there’s the matching red flannel jammies, Pâté’s gingerbread house, the sunflower-embroidered handy haversack (wrapped in paper painted by little rat feet), and Chateaubriand the Mari Lwyd. (The fic goes into greater detail about the customs, which I largely drew from the rowdy Tudor-Era traditions of Christmas because that seemed the most thematically appropriate for Winter’s Crest in Whitestone, in particular wassailing which, appropriately enough for the Mintyverse Bradburys, involved making a ruckus in the apple orchard to ensure the health of the trees.) The only different detail is the enchanted teakettle, which in the fic Imogen gives to Laudna as a present rather than having bought it previously at the general store. So the contents of that box with the striped paper are a mystery.

They have red pajamas not just because Laudna insists that matching pajamas for the whole family are an essential part of the holiday but because of a belief persisting since the Elizabethan era that scarlet was the warmest color to wear. From the 17th century onward and throughout the early-mid 19th century especially red flannel was the popular choice for winter petticoats, underwear, and pajamas because it was believed that red flannel worn next to the skin would protect against cold and diseases and serve as a remedy for rheumatism. (This is where the classic image of the red flannel drop-seater union suit comes from.) Examples of this can be seen in the literature of the time, (off the top of my head) red flannel nightgowns and nightshirts are described on all of the children in Little House in the Big Woods and in Little Women Beth wears a red merino wool wrapper while recovering from scarlet fever.

Other details on this page include a halfling with a tail because I really like that headcanon, Chloe Bell haberdashery named after my old cat, and a tavern called the Gloating Goat with a sign featuring the smug goat meme, and portraits of Pâté and Calamari as Victorian-era children. I thought Laudna’s vision for them would be a cross between Beatrix Potter and Victorian death photography, which is why they’re wearing fancy little outfits but listing stiffly and awkwardly in the frame. (I mean, any portrait of Pâté is a death portrait as it is.)

NRC School Newspaper: A Birthday Interview with Ryker Crowley

Happy birthday!

Thank you! I gotta say that this has been one of my best birthdays so far! I love how NRC celebrates birthdays, and since we had one yesterday, it's like one very long party.

That's right, we celebrated Riddle's birthday yesterday.

Yup! Me and Riddle are pretty similar in a lot of ways. Aside from our birthday's being one day apart, we're also the same height, and even some of our personality. I'm a big rule follower and pretty strict when it comes to my school work and grades too.

Are you two close?

Well I'm a Heartslabyul student and he's my dorm leader, so we see each other often. I'd say we get along pretty well, but I wouldn't consider us close.

Who are you close with?

I get along really well with Ruggie, Silver, and Idia. I'd consider them pretty close friends. Ruggie is always fun to do practically anything with, even if it's working jobs, he can make it fun. Silver is really easy to talk to and fun to hang around with. He's the kind of friend I know I can always count on. Idia is the one that I spend most of my time with tho. It's not intentional, but when you're playing your favorite game or watching your favorite anime, you tend to lose track of time.

What are your favorite games and animes?

Some of my favorite games are Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Pokemon, and Stardew Valley. As for anime...my favorite has to be One Piece. It's a very long one, and I'm not done yet, but I love it. I also like Black Butler, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Death Note.

Do you have any dreams for the future?

I want to become an author. I love writing so much, and I'm even taking writing college classes right now. I have a bunch of short stories that I've written and debated creating a separate blog for, but I'm unsure if anyone would even care about it. But I also have an idea for a book I want to write, so completing and publishing that would be my ultimate goal.

Speaking of your writing, how is your blog doing?

It's doing great! I say it often, but I never imagined I'd get as much support as I did. I'm really grateful to all of my followers who give me feedback and requests. I really love seeing their comments and responding. Hearing their thoughts, what they want more of, and interacting with them always makes me happy!

What's your most popular series?

Definitely my broken sibling relationship series. I'm honestly surprised how much everyone loves the angst. It started with Vil after a slight mention that I had an idea for how it could go wrong, but people keep wanting more. Those take a little bit longer to write than most requests, but I always love doing it.

Considering you've written so much sibling angst, if you had to choose someone at NRC to be your sibling, who would it be?

Oh man. That's a pretty tough decision, but I think I would have to say Malleus. He's pretty lonely most of the time, but I think if he had a sibling, he would be a bit happier. I firmly believe that Malleus would treat his sibling very well. Plus, I think growing up with him would've been very fun. I would've loved to be a part of Malleus' family.

Do you consider anyone in Twisted Wonderland your family?

I've accepted Crowley as my bird dad. I know most people wouldn't, but I do.

How are you enjoying Twisted Wonderland?

I love it! I've been playing for a little over a year now. I originally came to Twisted Wonderland through Obey Me, but I play more Twisted Wonderland now. I'm a proud owner of 25 SSR cards, and love the story. My favorite characters have to be Sebek, Leona, and Silver.

What are you talking about?

Don't worry about it.

Uh, okay. Can you tell us about your clothing style?

Sure! It varies from day to day depending of if I'm feeling more feminine or masculine, but lately I've been wearing a lot of Hawaiian shirts. My friend @l1ttleclouds actually made me an aesthetic board for my normal style. Take a look!

Nice! Are there any fun facts about you that most people don't know?

I always have trouble coming up with fun facts, especially ones that most people don't know. So I decided to come up with a few that people may or may not know; I love horror, I have a few succulents, and my eyes have two different colors. To clarify that last one, my eyes aren't two different colors, but each eye has two colors in it. Not mixed together, but separated. So about half of each iris is green, and half is brown. Fun!

I'm bored and I've almost finished planning this fic so I'm sharing what was the initial summary of it

(I'll probably take me like a whole year to write the whole fic so I hope y'all don't like it too much, cuz y'all won't have it soon lol)

(Y'all can ask about it tho!!)

People say you don't know what you've got until it's gone, but Lando did know.

Lando was happy living in his privileged life. He was second in line for the throne of Thalphor, behind his brother Charles, his best friend (and crush) was his brother's bodyguard and they spent most of the days together, his father loved them both and even if his magic hadn't manifested fully yet, it was clear he wouldn't need to wait much for it to do.

Even if he still had to attend the same classes his brother did or other responsibilities, he was happy his were lighter and easier, making him be more free than his brother, even if his own bodyguard Oscar was always behind him. He really couldn't and wouldn't complain about his life.

Yes, their mother had died while giving birth to him but their little family was still happy, or so he thought.

On the 13th November 178xx, his 19th birthday, he discovered both Charles and Carlos had run away. He was left very confused and when he showed the handwritten letter to his father he was left confused and alone, his father locking himself indise his room.

Their castle was silent for a week, only being broken when chaos entered the scene. A raid started on their capital city, where their castle was situated.

Lando doesn't remember much from that day, just the most important things.

The raiders were occultists, social rejects from everywhere that only followed one rule: chaos is everywhere they went. They were killing and stealing everything they could from them. Usually, occultists weren't a difficulty, even the typical non-trained villager could beat them if they organized correctly, but Thalphor military forces were in a crisis. Without one of their heads and their king, their usual strong forces were useless.

Lando didn't know how to fight nor had any magical power to try, still, he wasn't leaving their people behind. With the first weapon he found, he was followed downtown. The images he remembers are blurry, him fighting, getting wounded or seeing his people fall.

There's a part of that day that he won't forget.

If he closes his eyes and lets his mind wander enough, he still hears the sound of the people's screams, the smell of blood, the pain in his arms and legs.

He still can feel the fear after seeing the head of the raiders going directly to him.

He still can see his father using his Wind Magic to fight.

He still can see how his father sacrificed himself to save his life.

He still can feel the pain in his throat after screaming for his father, who had just dropped dead.

He can't remember the awakening of his Water Magic, or the explosion everyone talks about, or how he was the one who ended the raid with three fast movements, or how he dropped unconscious next to his father's body.

Oscar does. He was the one who took care of him the days he stayed in a coma or unable to do more than stare at the wall.

His magic manifesting prematurely made Lando fall in the not-uncommon but still not known Curse of the Seasons.

"Do you think they'll let us in?"

"Come on, don't be stupid. It'll be difficult but surely it'll work. We're on the same side, right?"

Carlos didn't participate in the conversation. Coming back to what used to be his home was making him nostalgic. He missed his old life, even if he knew running away and fighting the occultists was the right thing to do. If Charles' conclusions were right, they were really close to finishing now. Just one more base and chaos would be lowered to minimal levels. The world will develop as it should again.

But first they needed Adam's and Lando's help.

In every kingdom they went to, they had contacts that would help in any way, even if it was just by giving them a place to rest. They had met very wonderful people everywhere, some stayed behind and some accompanied them in their adventures and where they started as just a duo, now it was a team, with Pierre, Alex and George next to them.

Charles, Pierre and George dominated the air powers. Alex was an expert with fire powers. Carlos' earth powers and him were only one.

They really just needed Lando to be a complete team and go to the biggest base ever, if he'd achieved his powers in their five years of absence.

Carlos was sure it wasn't going to be easy though, he thought as they were walking through the streets of the city, no one recognised them with their capes.

Five years without a letter sent wasn't something Carlos himself wouldn't be able to easily forgive so he's mentally prepared for any kind of answer they'll give them.
