speaking of, while Jamie/Dani was bittersweet and sad, what I thought was the real tragedy was Hannah/Owen. A love that came too late, words they could have told each other but never got the chance to, only realising you could've had such a beautiful life with someone after they're gone.

I love them so, so much. They were the highlight of the show for me.

I’m on the 7th episode of The Haunting of Bly Manor (just finished ep6) and my favourite things so far are how sweet and comforting Owen and Hannah are to each other and how Jamie calls Dani ‘Poppins’. It just warms my heart when I see scenes with just those four as couples.

I know that I've mentioned this elsewhere (pretty sure it was on a Facebook Barbie group of all things) but his devotion to her was that of a spouse. The way that he treats her, even in death, especially in death, is the devotion of a spouse. What's interesting is that the world at large also sees them as a married couple.

This was England in the 1980s. They were not going to allow an unrelated man to accompany a body to the coroner's. They definitely wouldn't have allowed him to prepare her body for burial himself. It would have been a shocking scandal.

However, they would have allowed her husband to be there and to prepare her for burial, especially if he was arguing that it was culturally significant.

Hannah didn't have anyone. That's part of the reason that she was living at Bly Manor after her divorce. There was no one to contest it when Owen said, "Please, let me show devotion to my wife. Let me send her off in love and softness; sweetness and care."

There were, however, the residents of Bly Manor who would have eagerly backed up the lie that wasn't a lie.
