Happy birthday to Tovarus!

Today is his -491st birthday!

Tovarus was born into the upper-class clan called Wariel's Wrath. He was dissatisfied with the Jiralhanae's place in the Covenant even after they were elevated to protect the San'Shyuum, both because he viewed them as unfit leaders and because he resented that the Jiralhanae's fate was still being dictated by another species. After the Human-Covenant war, he joined the Banished, believing that Atriox and Escharum were worthy leaders of their kind.

After Atriox's alleged death, he joined the Hand of Atriox, a special forces group specializing in killing Spartans, thus earning the name "Spartan Killers". He viewed this as the ultimate challenge that transcended rank, personally killing many Spartans, including Theodore Sorel. When Master Chief began disrupting operations on Zeta Halo, Tovarus and his brother Hyperius were sent to execute him. Ultimately, both brothers would be killed by Master Chief.

Jiralhanae Bracket Submissions

anyway, I can't guarantee when I'll be able to get to it, but I decided to open up the submissions for the Jiralhanae Bracket now. no deadline currently.

Note: I am aiming for a 64 bracket like last time. If there are less than 64 unique submissions (which I suspect will happen), I will fill the rest of the spots myself. This is more to give priority - so if you know any obscure / minor Jiralhanae, this is the time to guarantee a spot for them in the bracket.

Trivia Tuesday - Brute Costumes

Did You Know that while filming the Landfall live-action trailers, Weta Workshop built several Brute costumes for actors to wear that were later used as a basis for CGI? The Brute costumes had a port in the neck for actors to see through.

Halo Brute reimagining sketches for fun.

Warpaint concept was that the Brutes paint based on the blood of their foes, or using the blood of their foes to intimidate rivals. Purple , their own blood colour, is seen as especially intimidating.

Red was in style during the Human-Covenant war, while deep blue became more popular for the Covenant civil war.

The orange one used grunt blood to evoke forerunner linework.

I decided to revamp all my Halo OCs and color them finally because I never actually DID give them official color schemes in the 12 years I've had them.

Character refs!

Today I bring to Canon characters from the Halo and RvB lore, Autel Vadam and Tiny!

Autel was an interesting character to read upon, though trying to find references for him was a nightmare. So I took whatever information was on his appearance and put my own spin on it. In my headcanon, his mother is Vaya while obviously his father is Thel. He's the oldest son. However, a horrid fate awaited him during the civil war with Jul 'Mdama.

Tiny, on the other hand, might as well be a whole new character. We see her briefly in RvB Zero, and we know how much Zero sucks X'D. So... when revamping the RvB Zero cast for my comic, Tiny I chose to almost completely redo. Really, only thing she has in common with her show counterpart is her name, colors, and being a mechanic. In my headcanon, she's now a brute, raised by Sangheili, and adopted child to Thel Vadam.

Happy birthday to Dokab Castor!

Today is his -487th birthday!

After the fall of the Covenant, Castor rejected the San’Shyuum as his prophets but maintained his faith, continuing to believe in the Great Journey and worshipping the Forerunners as gods. He joined the Keepers of the One Freedom, a Covenant splinter group that was open to anyone who was faithful.

During his service, he found himself on Gao to investigate rumors of a Forerunner ancilla on the planet. The ancilla, Intrepid Eye, recognized that Castor thought of it as a god and manipulated the Keepers into helping it escape. Castor engaged with Blue Team and was ultimately unable to take the ancilla.

Later, Castor decided to join his legion of the Keepers with the Banished. The Keepers had suffered significant losses, and Castor recognized that the Banished were in a position to take galactic control. Though not held in high regard by the Banished, he swallowed his pride and acted as a dokab to Atriox.

Castor was ordered to Reach to attempt to reopen the portal to the Ark. They were able to activate the portal and the religious significance of traveling there trumped his loyalty to the Banished. Castor took his forces through the portal on counsel of Inslaan 'Gadogai, his fairweather ally and advisor.

When he got to the Ark, he was able to bluff his way through the Banished presence there and begin his true goal: to activate the Halo array and start the Great Journey. He also discovered that there were Covenant remnants marooned on the Ark, and joined forces with Prelate Dhas Bhasvod, who was in possession of Intrepid Eye. Little did Castor know, Veta Lopis and the Ferrets were among his forces in deep cover, posing a members of a Forunner-worshipping human cult. They warned the UNSC forces on the Ark and began a counter-strike, only to be exposed by a suspicious 'Gadogai.

Eventually, Castor and his forces fought their way to the structure to fire the Halo array, keeping Lopis as a prisoner to use the Forerunners technology. Lopis was able to expose the truth about the Halo array and guided the UNSC to perform an orbital strike and destroy the facility. Castor, whose faith was shaken, escaped with 'Gadogai, no longer a member of the Banished or the Keepers.

In canon (~2560), he is turning 50!

i think when the sangheili had their revolution against the covenant they should've given them punk outfits. The arbiter in a battle jacket made with the leather of a brute's skin. i need to draw this.
