Annalicia: Okay, Shan & I have been trying to think of a way to get both Hades & Doc to spend more time together, you know, to hopefully give Hades the chance to confess his feelings without interruption, but we haven't managed to think up any possible ways to do that with everything going on. So, I went to my Papa French fry (Frollo) for a little bit of help, & after a few minutes of him wandering off & doing stuff in the background, he finally came back with something! 😆✨

The Hallows Ball / Deadly Flora! 🌹🌸🌷🥀🍂

Greetings everybody, the Hollows Ball has returned once again over at @cosmiconix's blog ✨! This year's theme was Deadly Flora, from the most dangerous, to the strangest plants in our world. I went with a bunch of neat and strange plants and was inspired to make this beautiful dress out of the things I found. I've decided to go in a dress cause not only do I like to wear suits, but I also wear dresses as well, and sometimes both if I can! Now to answer the question, what kind of plants did I go with 🤔? Well, here are the selected plants. ↓

From left to right:

Bleeding Heart.

Deadly Nightshade.

Ghost Plant.

Oleander Flower.

Venus Flytrap.

White Baneberry.

Spoon-leaved Sundew (Drosera Spatulata).

Japanese Blood Grass (Hair color).

Those are all of the plants I had selected for my dress this year 😀! Once again, thank you so much @cosmiconix for inviting me to the ball, I always have the best time there, and I hope that all of you guys who were able to attend the ball had a wonderful night 🥰!

I'm so truly honored to have both Rani & Morgan attend the Hallows Ball this year, their gifts are also very much appreciated by members of the mansion & their fellow guests. Frollo is deeply appreciative of Morgan's gift, he has obtained many swords over the years, but this one feels the most unique out of them all, plus the dagger & wine from dear Rani will certainly excite some of the residents here, they hadn't had wine in AGES so this is such a refreshing gift. So, these two have been busy....

These two dorks are so flippin' tired after spending almost an ENTIRE month decorating, they hardly even heard what slipped out of their mouths just now! 🤭 Hopefully they'll have enough energy to enjoy the Ball when the day finally arrives, otherwise Doc is gonna have to hop back onto the coffee to survive the evening, which he probably doesn't wanna do after working so hard to ditch the stuff. Hades on the other hand might upgrade to the whole pitcher if he can't get his strength back quick enough, but let's hope that doesn't happen for the sake of his health. 😅

Porcelain Eyes.

The October air clung tightly to the small town of ash hollow. Every year he could barely contain her excitement for Halloween. The crisp smell of autumn leaves the flickering of candlelight in hollowed pumpkins and most of all the costumes. She lived for getting dressed up transforming herself into something otherworldly and mysterious. This year she had outdone herself spending weeks sewing a vintage inspired Victorian gown complete with delicate lace and intricate embroidery.

Penney's friends were already buzzing about it “you're going to win the costume contest this year for sure,��� her best friend Olivia said drain their usual coffee meet up.

“You're going to look incredible” Carson added always the support of one.

Penny smiled imagining walking into the neighbourhood party heads turning as she made her dramatic entrance. But there was just one final touch you needed: the perfect mask.

The day before Halloween penny had wandered through the local antique shop hoping to find something unique. The bell above the door chimed as she entered the musky scent of aged wood and forgotten treasures filled her lungs. Shelves were cluttered with strange artifacts old books tarnished mirrors and faded photographs. The place had an unsettling stillness as though time moved differently within these walls.

“Can I help you Little Miss” a voice rasped from the shadows of the counter. An elderly woman stepped forward her eyes Milky with age but oddly sharp in their gaze.

“I'm looking for a mask” penny replied “something unusual”

the old woman smiled thinly her lips curling in away that sent a shiver down penney's spine “I think I have just the thing”

she beckoned penny towards the back of the shop where dust covered shelves seemed to grow taller and darker as they move further from the light. The old woman reached high and pulled down the small wooden box its surface worn smooth with age. With a careful hand she opened it revealing a mask.

It was beautiful striking even made of what looked like porcelain with delicate gold filigree around the edges it had a haunting almost expressive face a sad smile eyes slightly hollow and downturned. The white surface seemed to shimmer under the dim light of the shop.

“This…. This is perfect” penny breathed “how much?”

The old woman narrowed her eyes “this mask comes with a story young lady you should know before you decide to wear it”

penny hesitated “a story”

the woman nodded shifting her weight as if the tail itself was heavy “it was handcrafted centuries ago by renowned venetian mask maker. He created it for his beloved wife who wore it to a grand masquerade ball. That night she danced and charmed guests but as the evening waned she grew faint. By midnight she had collapsed her heart stopped and the mask refused to come off”

penny frowned “refuse to come off”

the woman's voice lowered “they tried for days to remove it but no matter how hard they pulled it stayed locked to her face. In the end she was buried wearing it”

penny almost left but there was an intensity to the old woman expression that made her think better of it instead she asked “then how did it end up here”

“the mask……. Travels. When the wearers dons the mask it becomes part of them entwined its faith with whoever has it next” the woman's eyes gleamed “but beware once you put it on strange things can happen it's not something to be taken lightly”

Penny who loved a good scare but rarely believed in such things grinned I think I'll take my chances”

the old woman's lip twitched as if suppressing some dark amusement 2 very well but remember midnight is the hour you must be wary of”

with a shrug penny handed over the money and left the shop mask in hand.

Halloween nights arrived and penny’s grand entrance at the party went exactly as she imagined heads turned drinks were set down and people gasped at the sight of her her friends rushed over showering her with compliments.

2 where did you get that mask” Olivia asked eyes wide.

“It's so detailed creepy but enchanting” Carson added running a finger along the golds filigree.

Penny smiled beneath it feeling a strange sense of power it was as though the mouse had transformed not just her appearance but her whole aura. She felt bolder more confident than ever.

The night progressed with laughter music and dancing but as the clock neared midnight penny began to feel a subtle shift. Her head felt light her vision blurred at the edges maybe she had too much to drink.

She excused herself from the group and made her way to the edge of the party where the noise was softer. As she glanced at her reflection in the nearby mirror a flicker panic seized her. The mask….. It looked different. The sad smile had twisted into something else something to sinister. The hollowed eyes seemed deeper darker.

She reached up to remove it but her fingers couldn't find the edge. Panic surged. She tucked harder her nails scraping against smooth porcelain but the more she pulled the tighter it seemed to cling to her skin. Her breathing quickened her heart hammering inside her chest.

She stumbled away from the mirror, her hands trembling she ran toward the bathroom locking the door behind her. Staring into the mirror again her own eyes stared back in terror framed by the cold and moving porcelain of the mask.

She clawed at it desperately trying to remove it but it was as if the mask had fused with her own face. Tears streamed from her eyes pooling at the bottom of the masks hollow cheek every pole every attempt to wedge her fingers under the edge was met with searing pain as if her skin itself was being torn away.

A sudden knock on the door startled her. “Penny” it was Olivia's voice “are you OK there”

no penny wanted to scream **** no I'm not OK**** but when she tried to speak her voice was muffled as if it was coming from far away the mass tightened suffocating her words into silence.

Midnight stroke the sound of the clock's chime echoing through the house with each tall penny felt herself slipping further Into Darkness as though something ancient and malevolent were awakening inside the mask pulling her under.

A final desperate thought crossed her mind *** the woman in the antique shop she warned me***

and then everything went black.

The morning after the party Olivia and Carson stood outside penney's house knocking in increasingly. No answer. Concerns etched on their faces they pushed the door open it had been left unlocked.

Inside they found the house exactly as it had been the night before. Except for one thing.

The mask. It sat neatly on the kitchen table its porcelain surface gleaming in the morning light. But penny was nowhere to be found.

Only the mass remained its sad hollowed eyes now filled with tears of sorrow.

Halloween Special

            “The preparations for the Young Lord’s ball are nearly finished,” said Sebastian. “All that is left is to ensure our colleagues do not cause trouble.”

            “I’m sure we can frighten them into behaving themselves.” (Y/N) smirked. “Especially today of all days, All Hallow’s Eve.”

            “Indeed,” said Sebastian. “And speaking of this eve…” Sebastian moved behind (Y/N) as they dusted the shelves of the library, and (Y/N) paused. Sebastian’s hands snaked around their waist, and he smirked at them. “Would you accompany me to our own celebration? Once our duties to the young lord have concluded for the evening, I would be honored by your company.”

            (Y/N) leaned back into his touch. “At our favorite den on iniquity?” They did so adore the queer bar they had found with him.

            “I was considering a den on iniquity of the…inhuman variety,” said Sebastian.

            “Inhuman?” (Y/N) turned around in his arms and raised a brow. Their nose twitched. “I would prefer to avoid more of our kind.” Sebastian and (Y/N) were one another’s exceptions to disliking demons.

            “I have ensured we will be the demons of our kind present,” said Sebastian. “There may be incubi present, but none others of the demonic variety. Merely a few witches, perhaps a few fae will cross to this plane, and vampires are hosting.”

            “This will be quiet the celebration, then,” said (Y/N). “How should I dress?”

            “I have something prepared for our costumes,” said Sebastian, smirking. “You will look divine. Well, as divine as you can.”

            (Y/N) tutted. “If I am dressed as an angel, I will tear your costume to pieces.”

            “I would never disrespect you so. I know your tastes,” said Sebastian. He kissed their neck and then straightened. “Be prepared for midnight.”

            “And the witching hour?” said (Y/N), raising an amused brow.

            “Precisely,” said Sebastian with a wink.

            (Y/N) walked in their room at the end of the night. Ciel and Lizzy’s Halloween celebration had ended well, and all present had enjoy themselves. Now (Y/N) and Sebastian could have their own night.

            (Y/N) smirked as they looked at the costume laid out before them. It was an interesting costume for a demon, but they trusted his judgement, and it was beautifully made. Let’s see what he will be paired alongside me.

            Picking up the clothing, they looked at the mirror. One thing was for certain—they would make an impression.

            “You insist upon the cloak?” sighed Sebastian. “I created the costume myself, it is no surprise.”

            “But on me it is,” reminded (Y/N) as they walked through the country hills and trees of England. “You will see it once we arrive at our destination, my love.”

            Sebastian’s hand around their waist squeezed as he walked beside them. “I look forward to it eagerly, my darling.”

            Fortunately for Sebastian’s curiosity, they arrived at an old mansion presently, and with a wave of their hands and a curl of magical shadows, the gates opened to admit their supernatural guests. As they approached the door, Sebastian withdrew a black invitation from his coat, and it sparked to life. Pure white flames ate at it, and as they went out, the doors opened, allowing the demons to enter.

            Sebastian and (Y/N) entered, walked down the stairs of the foyer, and entered a hall of opulence. Already, an incredible amount of supernatural beings were there, all handpicked by the hosts to be agreeable, elegant, and nonviolent at the ball. (Y/N) smiled slightly as they saw witches of all creed and color circling the room. They sensed the presence of incubi and succubi nearby, and the vampires were identifiable. Some of the supernatural guests had human plus ones, who gazed around themselves in awe at the golden light of candles sparkling around them and the magic instruments playing on their own.

            “Welcome,” said a servant, bowing to Sebastian and (Y/N). “Names?”

            “Corvus,” said Sebastian.

            “Felis,” said (Y/N).

            The servant nodded their head. “May I take your coats?” Sebastian and (Y/N) took off their outer coats, and their costumes were properly revealed.

            Sebastian wore a black suit, the shirt under ruffled and stitched with lace so it lay like a shadow over his skin—a sheer cloth of night. The jack was tailored perfectly to show off his slim waist, the pants were equally well-made, and the heels he wore held him taller than most in the room. He looked the shadows themselves, proud, dark, and beautiful.

            (Y/N) wore a long black dress with a split up to the knee for mobility. It had a soft sway to it, floating with their movements. It fell off their shoulders, and around their neck was a choker necklace of gold, purple, and blue wrapped like vines. On their head they wore a black veil, and Sebastian had stitched elegant patterns of vines in green across it, layering a shimmer of blue and purple petals.

            Together, (Y/N) and Sebastian were Persephone and Hades, rulers of the underworld. And, standing together as two demons before a crowd of supernatural beings, they truly felt like royalty.

            “Shall we dance, my darling Felis?” said Sebastian, offering his hand.

            “We shall,” said (Y/N), taking his hand. “My love, my Corvus.”

            And so, Sebastian swept them close and up into his arms. (Y/N) held him close and kissed him as he carried them to the dancefloor. As they separated and the music began to play once more, Sebastian smiled at them.

            “I love you, Felis,” he said. “May we always have these moments.”

            “I love you, too, Corvus,” said (Y/N). “And we will. After all, we are demons. We and our love shall endure.”

            “We shall,” said Sebastian. And as the music swept them into a dance, Sebastian and (Y/N) had eyes only for one another.

Summary: Carmy helps his girlfriend (who he calls Darling) prepare Halloween baskets for trick-or-treaters, and he gets lost in the poetry of their love.

Darling helps her mom prepare trick-or-treat baskets for the kids in her neighborhood.

The day before Halloween, the dinner table and counters of the apartment were littered with candy, knickknacks, toys, pens in the shape of finger bones (which I found repulsive, but I suppose a surgeon would find them hilarious), glittery skulls, and little containers of bubble solution. A mix of neon oranges, greens, bright purples, hints of black, shimmering foil and crinkly wrappers. She’d make all the little goody baskets—palm-sized pumpkin buckets with handles—and her mother would make decorated name tags so each kid would have their name written on their own basket. “Keeps the arguing between siblings down,” as she explained.

How she normally handled this all herself, I’m not sure, but we found a quick rhythm while working on them. A seamless dance to a shared moderato, kept in time by her reading off the list of things each basket needed and then each of us adding what was missing, backed by the static of rain against the window. A handful of colorful candy here, a bone pen there, oh, I forgot the little bouncy ball, it’s okay, I grabbed it already. The atmosphere of a kitchen is so precise and exacting, so immutable in its marching forward with or without you, both exhilarating and a drag on your soul, yet this? This dance we were in, darting around my kitchen—our kitchen—at half-past 11 on the chilly eve of All Hallows’ Eve? Also on time. Also precise. Also perfectly exact. But without the tension, without that feeling of a dull knife tightening against strained sinew or twine fraying or that sinking tightness in my gut anticipating something going wrong and the frustration that would cause other people. Whoops, I dropped one of the pens. It’s okay, it happens. No one here will be upset. No one here will tell you you’ve done it wrong. It happens. It’s life. Life happens.

And life delivered me here, quarter-to-midnight, the love of my existence in my arms giggling as I pressed kisses to her neck, as I buried my nose in her shoulder and inhaled that vanilla with a hint of citrus and salt. Her cool fingers weaving through my hair, the taste of strawberry lip balm, the soft, wet heat of her mouth for me to lose myself in. It took me a while to figure it out but what I needed more than love was to love. To unabashedly, fearlessly adore and admire and care for someone and know, without a fragment of a doubt, that my doing so, my bearing my soul to the one I loved, will not be my murder weapon. Here, we could sway to the music of the rain. I could hum one of the tunes she loved the most, and she would only ever squeeze me in a tighter hug. Life took it out of my hide, left gaping wounds in its wake, but then gave me, of all people, a surgeon to help mend them.

The poetry is so deep, I could drown in it.

It has come to the Crown's attention that the Hallowed Season is upon us! It is a time to celebrate this dark and spooky season with a gathering from all residence from Hell and Heaven (should any have a desire to attend).

There are a few things to keep in mind for this ball.

1- Dressing up is optional but formal attire is a must. 2- Weapons of any kind, even props, are NOT allowed. This is a peaceful gathering. Save the bloodshed for the streets darlings. 3- The event tag is Hellball. 4- This event will be taking place OUTSIDE of the Unholy Crusade verse. So anyone involved in that verse is welcomed to participate in this event if they want to. 5- This ball will begin on 10/16/2024 and end on 10/ 31/2024. No one is obligated to stay along for the whole length of the event. This event is just extended so as many people can participate as possible. 6- Should you wish to participate, please send an RSVP to Lilith (@hells-sirenqueen). This is an event that welcomes OCs, and other fandoms who may wish to participate. Feel free to dm or send an ask to Lilith should there be any questions or concerns. 7-There will be an event roster posted during the week of the event for those participating. Dr. Bauer: I can HEAR you Carlos! (Cosmo: Yep, what he says is true. I'm making this post to talk about the upcoming Hallows Ball that I'll be throwing this year. And I'm going to pin this post so that everyone will be able to find it & get the information they need about the party. I know it's really early for this, but I figured that if I addressed the preparations early & lay down the rules & what to do to participate, it would give anyone who wants to join plenty of time to prepare & not have to worry about making room in their own schedules during the holiday season! And it won't interrupt any of their own holiday plans either, making the party that much easier to join. 😊 For this year, I've decided this year's Hallows Ball is going to be an open party, so you won't need an invitation to join the fun, if it doesn't quite work out as well as I intend it to, then next year I'll go back to personal invitations. And this time, I'll try to be as clear as possible on how exactly to participate in this fun activity, so it all makes more sense. Please do read all the way through this post to gain all the information necessary for joining this year's Ball. How to participate: If you choose to participate, you have to draw or write your character/characters wearing a costume with the exact same theme as the party. (Example I'll be using: Unicorn theme.) If the Ball's theme is unicorns, then your ocs or characters of choice must dress up in a unicorn themed costume. Now, you can draw any kind of unicorn themed costume you want, black & white, sparkly, non-magical, whatever, as long as the costume in question is a unicorn. You do have the option to draw as many characters as you'd like, & from whatever fandom you want, it's completely up to you, get creative! Once you've completed your piece, post your work to your tumblr blog on October 31st; & tag me @cosmiconix in your post, when you tag me, I'll be notified about your submission & head on over to your blog to reblog your creation, that way everyone on my blog can see your brilliant creation & your characters will be able to enjoy the evening with everyone else at the Ball! Remember, if your post doesn't have a tag, I won't be notified about your submission & might miss it when the time of the Ball arrives. In honor of @cosmiconix's iconic Hallow's Ball, I present the only guy in my roster who's worthy of pulling off the Deadly Flora theme: Garden Dad himself ✨

I didn't want to go over the top this year, so instead I tucked the theme in his outfit through patterns. They're based on these two plants I found really interesting based on danger/creepiness factors. [CW: trypophobia & mention of decay]

The shirt is based off of the "Buta-Buta" (Excoecaria agallochaw), which contains a sap that can cause blisters and even temporary blindness.

Meanwhile, the lapels of the coat are based on the core of the Rafflesia, also known as the "Stinking Corpse Lily". This one pictured specifically is the Rafflesia speciosa, which is native to the Philippines. What makes this parastic flower so interesting is not just its size (the average spans about 40 inches in width) but because it lives up to its name. The Rafflesia is infamous for its pungent odor akin to rotting flesh.
