My absolute favorite season is winter but I enjoy autumn as well and this year I'm planning to romanticize my life as much as possible to hype myself up in a new life chapter! So The Decent DLC completely burned me out when it comes to Dragon Age Inquisition. After my impromptu stream last week that OBS fucked up while I was sick, I beat it off stream but I'm no longer trying to beat it before Veilguard is released.

In October I will probably be playing Death Stranding still, but I wanna play some horror games I've never played too. I already mentioned them but Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines modded and Voices of the Void will be the main go to options. Honestly I still need to look at what I got

So once I beat Dragon Age Inquisition after October I will move onto Veilguard.

Day 718

Even though I don’t celebrate Halloween, I get great pleasure out of two things during the Halloween season. The first is Halloween themed treats; if there’s a bakery nearby that will sell something Halloween themed, I’m all for eating said treat. The second is an excuse to play spooky or Halloween themed games.

Emphasis on spooky and not scary.

I actually don’t do well with horror games, or games that have a lot of jump scares. My nerves just cannot take it, and it decreases my enjoyment of playing a game. Which is actually really sad to be honest. Believe it or not, some of the best or most compelling narratives can be found in a good horror game.

I just don’t have the capacity to play such games. 

This is the reason why I like playing hidden object games, because often they are spooky narratives, but not scary (most of the time). It allows me to be delighted by hidden mysteries and enjoy some spooky atmosphere, but not be anxious. 

There’s a few ghost themed hidden object games in my Steam library, and I finally got around to buying the DLC for Dredge, so at some point I will be replaying that game. All fun stuff for Halloween.

Trying to plan my grocery list and workouts around Halloween tomorrow is proving to be a struggle. Back when we lived in a really bad neighborhood in (college town known for a certain HGTV show that had a cult like following) we started doing a cookout on the driveway on Halloween. We had fed the neighbors before, but decided that having hot dogs, veggie trays, and fruit treats out for anyone to get along with trick or treating candy was a good idea. And we've stuck with it for years running now.

Last year I made a double batch of gluten free mummy hand pies and they were GOOD. They were a massive hit with everyone and I've been asked to make a triple batch this year so more people can enjoy them. But that means I will spend all morning probably through early afternoon making pies... So now today I have to get extra steps and do tomorrow's workout today. And go grocery shopping. Plus I can never tell if I have enough powdered sugar or not, because it puffs up in the container but then packs down so much it practically disappears.

I'm really looking forward to those pies though. Mmmmmmmmmmmm
