This is just me ranting a lot about music shit and not in a fun music creation way more in a music distribution way.

For such an artsy profession/hobby it's odd how cold the process of uploading your music is. It's also super annoying and despite being cold its very inefficient!

Today I switched to Distrokid distribution, the reason for this being that my previous distributor Vampr wasnt living up to anything they had previously. When I signed up and pushed out my first 3 releases they were a free reliable option that had good website formatting that was professional and sleek while also being practical. Then in like april I think they sent an email being like "heyyy we're gonna be updating our UI and adding pre save links and you'll be able to payout at any time! :) so we're gonna be down for a bit"

None of these were particularly useful to me specifically but they were nice to have and other people were probably excited. So then I forgot about it until I checked spotify for artists a bit later and photogeniac was just completely gone. So I checked the vampr distribution page and it was also gone there, then I emailed their support email and tldr they lost it and it was completely out of their system and they seemed like they didnt wanna admit it. Like first they were like "we cant find your account" and then when they found it they were like "oh yeah we see your two releases ever, STGSITVP and SFTCE! problem solved youve never released anything else!"

Ultimately it sucked that it was gone on but I didn't really care because photogeniac was the first thing I released and so it sucked and its not like anyone was listening to it anyways. But while I was checking I saw their UI update and it just looked so weird. Like not only was it harder to understand where things were but like it just looked so much more unprofessional. It looked more like "hey man you wanna upload some music and stuff and use our stuff and upload cmon man" and before it was like "hello, upload music here. or don't, its up to you"

So then a bit ago I was gonna release Chumboxxing as a single on streaming and the UI for uploading on vampr was just so weird and bad. Like I'm not just mad cause it was different that shit was just hard to understand. This wasnt the only factor but it was one of the reasons chumboxing is a bandcamp exclusive (for now at least, it will be available as a bonus track on the next album).

A few days ago I saw that SFTCE got changed to an Album instead of an EP. Uh oh! It turns out this wasnt vampr's fault actually, but I didn't know that. So I went to the vampr site and it kept crashing and eventually I managed to get to see that I couldnt change it. So i ended up deciding to bite the bullet and pay money for distrokid (the leading distributor in the industry I believe, doesnt really matter I chose it cause it's the one I'd heard of a bunch and Neil Cic uses it)

And switching distributors of course couldnt be simple, for one vampr is trying to get its last punches in and their website kept crashing (I got like 6 error404s during the whole process). Distrokid while having a much better UI than Vampr has some odd decisions like how when you upload multiple tracks it has them and the release info all in a vertical scrolling thing instead of having pages, and theres gonna be 2 of these releases for a few days.

Also, this isnt a strictly music thing but I'm sick of having to have a real name for shit. I put Poligonal O for my name on the song credits. I have like everything about my real life and my online life very separate and with a few exceptions I really don't want either of those to intersect.

Anyways moral of the story is how come releasing music isnt easier? If you bothered to read all this thats cool you're cool. If you havent read all of it go back and start again you failed. Listen to my music on stuff and things and byyyeee

the riley hair doesn’t have a clip so I am going to assume you mean the Peyton hair since it was released in the same month. It wouldn’t really be possible to do Peyton without the clip since it has a part of the hair going up into the clip. Without it there would be a hole and if the hole was filled in it would still look weird since the hair would be going up into nothing. I’m sorry <3

Prom Night - a tyrus fic

*warning suggestive content at the very end but not much*

Cyrus's POV:

It was the night of our senior prom and all of my friends had dates. I still rode with them because they insisted I wouldnt be third wheeling.

Andi had come with Amber, Buffy with Marty, and Jonah with Walker.

Me? I came by myself. I insisted that I was fine and pushed my friends to go dance as I sat at our table. I regretted not asking TJ, he probably would have said no anyway but at least if I had asked i wouldnt be sitting here, wishing I had, wondering what wouldve happened.

I got lost in a daydream, of me being here with TJ at my side. I really should have asked him, but I hadnt. I almost did but every insecurity I had exploded within me and I quickly changed the topic. I imagined myself on the dance floor with TJ and as if he had been summoned TJ popped up in front of me, sliding into the chair next to me.

"Hey underdog. Whats going on? Where is everyone?"

"Hey TJ, they're all with their dates. I told them I was fine by myself because I didnt want to be the downer that kept them all at the table"

"What about your date? I thought you said you wanted to ask someone?"

I sighed remembering that conversation and how abruptly I had ended it.

"I actually didnt end up asking. I freaked out and changed the subject"

"Oh. Well still shes a pretty lucky gal if you wanted to ask her"

"It actually was a guy.. and I think he's pretty special, but he probably doesn't think highly of me... Although I really wish I had asked him"

"Oh. Hey are they here maybe its not too late? I mean I'll help you ask him to dance or something."

I felt my face turn pink and I looked down

"N-no I don't think I should"

"Yeah come on who is this lucky guy?"

"No one- I- its okay Im fine"

TJ nudged me, smiling brightly as I looked up at him. He has a twinkle in his eye which made me melt.

"Hey if it makes you feel any better the guy I liked tried asking someone else"

"That sucks.. I guess we're both here by ourselves then?"

"Yeah I guess so" TJ paused as if he was contemplating something.

"Hey Cy?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you want to go outside? Its hot in here"

"Sure sounds like a good idea"

TJ took my hand in his, which instantly caused a blush to creep back onto my face. He led me outside to a group or lunch tables, they had put up lights all around to set the mood for prom.

"So Cyrus tell me more about this guy you like? Spill the beans"

"I- Uh -hes- hes pretty cool.... and um hes um good at sports"

"No way? Do I know him?"

"Uh- yeah -um something like that.."

"For real who is it?"

"Um- hes uh.. Hey um how about you tell me about the guy you like?"

I changed the topic quickly, sort of, to try and hide the fact that I was as red as a tomato. I earned a laugh from TJ

"Okay fair enough. Well hes really smart, and sweet.. Hes a really good friend of mine. He helps me out with school work sometimes and goes out of his way to help me even though people think Im mean"

"Oh, well he sounds like a really cool person"

"Yeah you are"

I looked up at TJ suprised did he just say that I was the cool person? It definitely sounded like he said 'you are' as in I am. He had a soft blush along his face. He put a hand behind his neck and laughed nervously.

"Sorry that just kind if slipped out"

"I love you too" I had meant to say 'i like you' but I blurted my thought out before my brain had a chance to process it.

"Wh-what?" TJ stumbled over his words his whole face a new shade of red.

"I-Im sorry I said it before I had time to process it I know you probably weren't talking about me, Im not the guy you like.. but its true... I am in love with you..." I got up and walked to the nearest wall, or pillar I should say, outside. I leaned my back against it, sighing, TJ followed behind me.

"I was talking about you Muffin... I didnt- I didn't think youd notice."

I looked up at him, he was standing in front of me, my back against the wall. I never realized how much taller he was compared to me. My eyes traced his freckles and they led my gaze to his lips as I bit mine.

"I was talking about you too.. I thought you were oblivious.." i smiled at him

He put an arm on the wall beside my head and gazed at me for a moment. I felt my face turning red as I put the pieces together on what he had planned. I bit my lip and him felt his crashing into mine as he closed the gap between us. I put my arms around his neck and kissed back, completely in shock that this was really happening.

"Hey where did Cyrus go?" I heard Buffy in what sounded like the distance, I had forgotten that we were only a few feet away from the gym door and didn't break the kiss.

"I think he's-" I heard Andi as she cut herself off. Me and TJ pulled apart, startled by the collection of "awh"s "oh my gosh"s and "how cute"s that came from our group of friends in unison.

"I CALLED IT! I TOLD YOU MY BROTHER WAS INTO HIM" Amber called out enthusiastically. As everyone else laughed. Except for me and TJ that is, both of us bright red from getting caught mid makeout session.

"Hey don't stop on our account we just wanted to find you guys and see if you wanted to dance" Jonah teased

"But it looks like you two have a dance of your own going on" Walker continued, making us both more red than we were.

"We're coming back inside calm down" i took TJs hand and rested my head on his shoulder as we walked a couple feet behind our friends. I looked up at TJ and whispered in his ear "You taste like peppermint.. Every time I have gum, Im going to think of you" TJ squeezed my hand smiling softly. He looked back at me and his smile turned into a mischievous grin.

"Hey Cy, what do you say we get out of here? Go back to my place and go for a round 2? I want to kiss you again but i dont think thats humanly possible without our friends teasing us"

I bit my lip to hide my smile "what about your family? Theyre not home?"

"Hey Ambers here and is sleeping over at Andi's tonight and my mom is out of town on a work trip for the next 3 days.."

I looked up at him, and he continued "We'll have the house all to ourselves"

I laughed as I watched TJs face turn red when he realized how bad that sounded

"Tha-Thats not what I meant- I swear"

I laughed placing a kiss on his hand

"Un-unless you like- you want to" it was my turn to blush now as I noticed all of our friends looking back at us

"We can hear you two you know" Amber said, as Buffy pretended to puke. I switched TJs hand to be in my left hand instead of my right and nuzzled my head under his arm to hide my embarrassment.

"You guys suck" i grumbled into TJs shirt the entire group laughing.

I looked up at TJ again.

"So.."

"So..?"

"Boyfriends?"

"Boyfriends." TJs eyes sparkled in the moonlight and I felt so lucky he was mine..

2: i think more ppl with my sense of humor should watch Spider Riders bc listen..  if somewhere along the line that show suddenly gained more popularity again in this fine year of 2019 id be both actually funny for once but also revolutionary. by all technicalities some of my hcs are fucking great but i dont think i could say a lot of them and even be comprehensible outside of orientation based ones that are just rlly controversial. granted im not even sure i could or would actually recommend the show to people cause its kinda dumb a lot of the time and also fairly long at least to my standards so its harder to finish unless ur like really invested in it :pensive:

3: also on that note the next time a horny person even THINKS about Corona im Going to break into their home and then break their knees. i hate that she has so much fanart thats basically just fetish art or otherwise managing to be nsfw in some way shes like 15 at best fuck off!! its rlly only a problem on like. deviantart but it still makes me die inside.

4: character development is hard i never actually keep my ideas and what i have written down on like.  my actual bios for everyone on the same pace so its a confusing mess and i wish i was better at combating that

8: (goes BACK to thinking about SR shdfjds) the anime had no right having like so many characters base their ideals off of how brade used to be in the past and all those good takes on like not necessarily Having to resort to violence as the ultimate solution and all that good stuff just to be like, “surprise!! he actually IS still around! but also he’s going to be minimally helpful at all until the last few episodes and otherwise we’re going to make a ton of gags about him trying to hit on the like 2 girls in the team who are also like 15 while he ignores practically everyone else because thats funny!��� im still so mad about it. he is the absolute worst and he has no rights. there was also so much potential they seemed like they could have used and were trying to hint at using in terms of further developing more important details about the history of the inner world or at least some of the things that had been going on well before hunter ever showed up and then they didn’t do anything but hint at the idea of brade having known hunter’s grandfather. but even that wasn’t 100% confirmed bc they dodged around it the one time they had hunter ask. its a mess.

9: my taste is so fucking weird and i hate it bc its mostly just, “oh yeah i heard abt this thing and it seems cool im hoping to start getting into it soon!” for most things that are actually cool or popular or all that and never actually get into it, but then i see smth dumb as shit that i know would probably make me look like an absolute fool for liking and im like, “oh yeah yknow what i can do this one” and then i do like it but i cant say much about it either cause i dont wanna look like.   a fool.

20: i miss when i could be passionate abt cave story it just makes me feel tired seeing it sometimes at this point but it also still holds a great significance to me so its just confusing and im not sure how i feel abt it

21: the SR novels were cowards only on account of not giving us any official design for petra but also for writing igneous like.  That.  novelverse igneous is just too bitter in general and like i get it but they couldve done a lot more with him even though he is still somewhat respectable in the end, granted its hard cause like holy shit hes so fucking mean to hunter literally who asked for that. im just glad the anime let him be somewhat more idk..  i guess sociable while still keeping a lot of the inherently essential aspects his personality had like his almost over the top loyalty to the prince and taking things like training/combat in general very seriously. its just good and animeverse igneous is so good id die for him thanks for coming to my tedtalk
