Nice Guys despise women they are attracted to for not reciprocating and Snape doesn't fulfill that.

Yes, he hates James, but 1. hating the boyfriend/husband of the girl you love is not sufficient to qualify, you have to hate the girl and Snape doesn't, and 2. Snape's hatred of James predates the latter's relationship with Lily and goes way deeper than just romantic rivalry.
