The worst | [Worst] Wolverine/Logan X [Male Iron Man variant] Reader

Logan hates the void, but he hates it a little less after he meets a bearable Tony Stark - except you aren't exactly a Tony Stark he recognizes.

Quick Notes : I haven't actually written for Logan before, but I'm obsessed after Deadpool and Wolverine so... Here we go. I might write a part two, but I'm not sure yet.

Story Details : Deadpool & Wolverine spoilers, Reader is male but referred to with 'You/Your' pronouns, about 800 or so words, light angst, Logan drinking (obviously), cliffhanger ending.

  Logan disliked the void; he disliked it nearly as much as he disliked Wade, which was a lot. Through the entire thing - the fight in the damn honda odyssey, getting the hell away from Cassandra, even getting brought to the resistance hideout - the only thing he wanted to do was down a few bottles of booze and crash for the night. The conversation he’d had with Laura made him feel… odd. It was hard to explain, and Logan wasn’t exactly known for being ‘in touch’ with his feelings. Hell, he preferred to drown them in alcohol over talking about them or even feeling them. 

  The mutant was drawn from his thoughts (and the bottle in his hand) when the door to the resistance opened, your form entering the hideout. He felt his nose scrunch - the stranger smelled like rust and metal, an unpleasant combination. You looked up from something in your hand, glancing at Logan before giving a curt nod and moving towards the nearby table. It was then that he caught sight of a slight blue glow just peeking out from overtop your undone top buttons; an arc reactor. Logan grit his teeth, tearing his eyes away as he downed half the bottle - of course he’d have to deal with a damn Tony Stark variant, it couldn’t have been that Wade was awake, it had to be him.

 A grunt from you pulled his attention back towards you, his gaze soon affixing to what was in your hand - or more accurately, on your arm. It was a repulsor gauntlet, probably part of a full suit if he had to guess, with the paint faded and scratched. With only a glance, he had a feeling you’d been here a long while. 

  “You’re the first Wolverine I’ve seen here,”

  Your voice cut through Logans’ thoughts, and he couldn’t help the bitter scoff that left him - of course you’d know who he was. Shaking his head, he approached your spot at the table, taking a seat across from you as he watched. You were fiddling with your repulsor gauntlet, the screwdriver in your hand digging between the metal plates as you scowled. For a brief moment, he locked eyes with you. Huh. It was then that he fully took in your form - really looked - and noticed that you weren’t quite the Tony Stark he was used to; you didn’t even look like a Tony Stark.

  “You gonna’ tell me how you got here, or are you gonna’ keep staring at me while I work?”

  Logan huffed at your question, bringing the bottle of booze to his lips as he regarded you. He didn’t particularly want to talk - especially to a damn Iron Man - but he relented, the alcohol flowing through his system loosening his tongue.

  “The jackass known as Wade got us both stuck here,” you paused at his words, arching a brow as Logan took a swig, “He pulled me from my universe to try and save his.”

  He could tell something about his words had struck a nerve because the moment he mentioned his own universe, you all but glared down at your gauntlet, your movements with the screwdriver less controlled and precise.

  “Least you’ll get a chance to leave,” came your bitter words.

  It was now the mutants’ turn to raise a brow, his eyes watching you - analyzing you - for any sign of what set you off. He looked away, tipping the bottle of alcohol back as the liquor slid down his throat.

  “You been stuck here a while?” Logan found himself asking, surprising both you and himself.

  Even more surprising, you looked up from your gauntlet and nodded, your expression softening as you tossed the screwdriver onto the table and sighed,

  “Been here longer than most. Had the TVA approach me to join the fuckin’ ‘sacred timeline’ or whatever, and when I turned it down - tried to warn the Avengers - they sent me here. I got every one of my mates killed.” Logan frowned, but didn’t interrupt. Even to him, it was clear you didn’t often talk about your past, “Cassandra’s been tryin’ to get me on her side for ages now, but I refuse. I’m a genius, not a fuckin’ lap dog for some deranged bitch.”

  That got a bark of laughter from the mutant, who shook his head in amusement; you had the signature ‘Tony Stark’ cockiness, arrogance might have been a better word, but you seemed more down to earth than the one he’d known of back in his universe. You seemed to have a shadow following you, something hidden to everyone that kept you locket away; it was something he could relate to.

  “You got a name they call you?” Logan asked, taking another swig from his pilfered bottle of alcohol.

  You hummed, returning your focus to your repulsor gauntlet as you picked up the screwdriver once more,   “I’m the worst Iron Man.”

And then he came through the system [RB program] when we had Sebastian Vettel, 4 time world champion- Mark Webber retired. We chose Daniel as the Junior, with no expectation on him and he started beating Vettels ass. he won 3 races in 2014 when we had FAR from the best engine, Sebastian never won a race that year.

Dax: Even his time at Mclaren, it sucked for him but he's the only one who won a race.

Christian: He IS the only one who won a race.

Dax: and for a long time now.

Christian: and Renault he had great performances. [...] he's got to feel the love. He's got to feel comfortable in the environment that he's in. Some of his races for us were- absolutely outstanding.

Christian: I asked Dietrich to show Daniel love. Helmut was obviously pro Max, I said if you could just balance things out, let him [Daniel] know you want him. Dietrich said "no problem, I'll talk to him" so he took Daniel upstairs after the race in Austria to talk to him, and they were there for well over an hour.

Dax: To the point you were nervous?

Christian: I thought SHIT! But they reappear, and they're both smiling, I tell him: "Dietrich, how did it go?" He says,"No problem, don't worry about it. It's not even a question [that daniel would leave]"

Christian: Then we went to Germany, and his engine blew up. His engine kept letting him down, letting him down, letting him down. But from there, we went to Hungary, and we got his paperwork [Daniel's contract] for a TWO year deal all sorted out. Daniel's manager came to me and said 'listen Daniel is nervous about the engine' because we were going to switch to Honda so his manager said: 'he'll do ONE year' I thought wow. That's not really what we talked about, because in 6 months we'll be having the same conversation. So I remember I went back to Dietrich, and I said, "it's about relationships. It's NOT about contracts. If he wants a one year contract, give him a one year contract," so at this point: he's got everything he wants. Also, at that point, Daniel was doing a test for us after the Hungarian race, I thought Daniel will sign the paperwork on Monday, suddenly Monday goes and he's in the car on Tuesday. I'm starting to smell something because this is an enormous deal, you'd have thought he'd be in a rush to sign this contract. And he didn't sign the contract before he got in the car in the morning and I thought he'd sign by lunchtime but it didn't happen. He had to get out of the car and go straight to the airport because he's flying from here to LA and I thought he'll call me. I'm feeling something at this point.

Dax: you know you're about to be broken up with.

Christian: yeah.

Dax: if your girlfriend didn't show up to lunch then dinner-

Christian: exactly. So- he [daniel] rings me, I was in the car with Geri, he tells me "I just got off the plane, I arrived in LA, and I've been thinking on the flight, all the way here- I'm not going to sign the contract. I'm going to take another contract. [...] he tells me Renault? The engine that let him down for 2 years? I was convinced, I was CONVINCED- because Daniel has got a sense of humour- I thought- he's taking the piss. I thought come on. I told him: come on. There is no way. You're not going to Renault, stop fucking about, just sign the contract. After 10 minutes he finally persuaded me that he was going to Renault. It was disappointing.

Dax: I wanna applaude you, because a lot of people who go through that experience think: fuck you.

Christian: there was an element of that. I thought: go and suck on a lemon for a bit. But actually during the pandemic, I remember he called me and said "Christian I hate to say this to you but you were right"

it made your head jolt up, stumbling forward, the man helped you to the vehicle, slipping you into the backseat. “where we headed?” the driver questioned, even though he already knew. he wanted to make sure you knew. looking at the driver with droopy eyes, the guy spoke for you, mumbling out some address that definitely wasn’t yours and a half-assed reason on why you can’t respond at the moment.

the drive was silent and you were fumbling with your phone. finger swiping through the multitude of missed calls and texts. texts of concern, all along the lines of “where’d you go” “who was he?” before you could even think of answering, your phone abruptly turned off. in an attempt to unlock it, the low battery symbol flashed on the screen. a defended sigh slipping past your lips. the vehicle stoped harshly stopping at a red light, giving you a moment to get a good look at the man next to you. “hi.”

confused, he glanced over at you. “hello.” his voice was laced with confusion, as if he didn’t expect you to actually know how to talk. there was silence from you, lips in a straight line as you thought of what to say. “where are we-“ you were stopped as the car jerked and moved again. “where are we going?” you questioned, sounding more aware now. city lights flashed across your face as you awaited an answer.

“remember? you said you wanted to go somewhere a little more private.” no, you didn’t. actually, you more or so said ‘what the fuck do you want.’ but you don’t remember that and you certainly didn’t mind either. a lazy smile spreading on your face as the realization of what he meant by, private, set in. besides, it won’t hurt if you don’t remember it.

humming in response , you surveyed the surroundings once more. laying your head back onto the seat of the car, a ringing filled your ears. god, maybe a chaser would have helped you in the long run. wonbin and the driver would look at you and then at each other, the driver would turn down the radio for your sake.

stopping in front of some apartment complex, wonbin was quick to pay off the driver before getting you out of the car. basically dragging you by your arm to the entrance. god, he had been waiting so long to get you alone. watching as you danced through the crowds of people, naively asking for something stronger each time you’re feet would stumble over to the bar.

finding it insulting when you rudely told him to fuck off when he did as much as attempt to talk to you. but he let it slide since you were still somewhat sober and couldn’t necessarily see him. but once he noticed that cutesy little slur in your words and how your fingers meekly pulled at the hem of your dress, he was sure he could get to you. managing to get you alone, persuade you into going with him. and that’s how you’re here. standing behind the man as he fumbled with his house keys. the fluorescent lights of the hall making your head spin.

pushing the door open, wonbin doesn’t give you even a moment to take in your surroundings. lips quickly colliding with yours, his hands groping and touching whatever he could. causing you to yelp in shock, giving him the opportunity to slide his tongue into your agape mouth. his movements were quick, not giving you a single moment to do as much as breathe. your nails found security in his arms, digging into the flesh forming crescents in their wake.

Modern! Hantengu Brothers in: What car would they have.

Heyyyy!!! So I’ve had this sitting in my drafts for quite a while so I just decided to just go on ahead and complete it! Hope y’all like it!

Sekido: Car #1: BMW M8/ Car#2: Kia Stinger

• Okay so hear me out. Mans has TWO cars.

• He regularly drives his Kia around to and from work & when he feels like it, he’ll bust out the Beemer (probably to race his brothers if they rile him up enough or some shit)

• He makes his own maintenance to both his cars. (Such as upgrades on the sound system, designs, window tint, oil changes, tire replacements, all that jazz) He takes pride in making sure his rides are well taken care of.

• He is definitely one of the more responsible drivers out of the four. (Unless Karaku & Urogi get on his nerves enough to make him race)

• Has red and black interior in BOTH of his cars. (I mean because what is Sekido without the color RED)

• Has a Black Ice scented freshener in his cars.

Karaku: Dodge Charger Hellcat SRT

• Come on y’all.. this is Karaku we’re talking about. Of course he has a fast muscle car & YES it’s loud green!

• Like Sekido, Karaku takes pride in keeping his car in great condition with everything it needs when it needs it.

• He gets MANY compliments on his car from literally EVERYONE. One time a kid caught him walking back to his car and he literally talked Karaku’s ear off about how cool his car was and how he wanted one just like it when he got older.

• Yes, He’s one of those guys that will see someone in the next lane at a stop light and starts wanting to race them. Again, this is Karaku we’re talking about here. 😂

• Will be the ringleader in challenging Sekido’s BMW to a race. One time, he made Sekido so annoyed he took him up on the offer only for Karaku to lose. He was still wanting to race again afterwards. (He’s a persistent one)

• His interior is matte black inside and his steering wheel cover is lime green like his car.

• Karaku definitely likes a fruity smell in his car so I’d see him with a pineapple or strawberry scent in his car.

Aizetsu: Honda Civic Sport (Two door)

• Definitely has a Honda because they are very reliable, long lasting cars. (Wise choice man, wise choice)

• Takes great care of his car & it’s always in perfect condition. He pretty much has to upkeep his cars condition because his part time job requires him to travel.

• Has amazing driving skills and is one of the better/ responsible drivers out of the four brothers. (Mans can literally parallel park in his sleep 😂😂)

• Has blacked out rims on his car gifted to him by Karaku for his birthday.

• Urogi and Karaku try to get Aizetsu to race but he declines everytime.

• His interior is solid black and he has a blue and black steering wheel cover. He has a ocean scent freshener in his car and has both a Nigerian and Japanese flag hanging on his rear view mirror.

Urogi: Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

• *sigh* There are responsible drivers, and there are irresponsible drivers, then there’s UROGI. 🥲

• Seriously, he doesn’t know what a speed limit is & the fact that he has one of the fastest cars doesn’t make it better 🤦🏾‍♀️.

• He’s another one of those guys that won’t hesitate to race someone at a stop light (because of course he does) He leaves them in the dust every time though.

• Despite being a moderately reckless driver, Urogi does keep his car in very good condition and is on time with any maintenance.

• Him and Karaku loveeeee teasing their brothers to get them to race with them on the weekends. They see it as a “bonding experience” and Urogi especially gets a thrill out of it. He has the most fun with teasing Sekido because he knows it gets on his nerves.

• Mans has definitely gotten stopped by the police once or twice but that still hasn’t stopped him. 😂😂😂

• His interior is gold and black and he has a gold steering wheel cover. He has a pine scented freshener in his car because it makes him think of being in the nature (He loves nature/ outdoors) so that’s natural for him.

Terms:

There are actually two championships: the WCC and the WDC

World Constructors Championship: Awards the title to the most successful team over the course of the season. It's based on the points scored by both of a team's drivers in each race, with higher points awarded for better finishing positions. The team with the most points at the end of the season wins the championship. Positions in the constructors championship also decides the prize money that goes towards the teams budget, with most going to the winner and decreasing with increase in position.

World Drivers Championship: An individual title is awarded to the best Formula 1 driver over the course of a season. Points are earned based on race finishes, with the driver accumulating the most points across all races winning the championship.

Points system: Points are awarded to the first 10 out of 20 drivers.

An extra point is awarded to the driver with the fastest lap provided they finish in the top 10

Winner : 25 pts

P2 : 18 pts

P3 : 15 pts

P4 : 12 pts

P5 and below decrease by 2 pts, so 10, 8 and so on until P10 gets 1 pt.

Slipstream: The aerodynamic effect where a car closely following another experiences reduced air resistance, allowing it to gain speed before attempting an overtake.

Delta:  A term used to compare lap times or sector times to previous laps. If the delta is green, it means the current time is an improvement.

Sector: A race track is divided into three timed sections (S1, S2, S3) to analyze driver performance and car efficiency in different track segments.

Box: A command used in team radio communications to tell a driver to enter the pit lane for a tire change or adjustments.

Sandbagging: A strategy where teams deliberately underperform during testing to hide their true pace from competitors.

Pitwall: The area where team engineers and strategists sit during a race, monitoring data and communicating with drivers.

Media pen:  The designated area where drivers give interviews after a session or race.

Hospitality centre: A team’s designated space in the paddock where drivers, team members, and sponsors gather, including lounge areas and catering.

DRS : stands for Drag Reduction System. A feature that allows a driver to reduce aerodynamic drag by opening a flap on the rear wing, increasing speed on straights when within one second of the car ahead.

Formation lap: A warm-up lap before the race start where drivers prepare their tires and brakes while positioning on the grid.

Lights out: Phrase used to signify the start of a race when all the red lights go off.

P : position, (ex. P1, P2 equate to 1st and 2nd)

Undercut: A pit stop strategy where a driver pits earlier than a rival, using fresher tires to gain an advantage once the competitor pits later.

Call me old school but "modern" cars are way too overkill.

My car (a used 2010 Honda accord) was totalled and I'm currently renting a 2018 Ford edge from my insurance company while I find a new vehicle.

Now driving this thing feels like driving a damn spaceship or the DeLorean from Back to the Future. There's just so many damn buttons, dials, lights, and just fluff in the dash and center console it's straight up hard to drive. On closer inspection, at least 5 buttons control the light above the driver and passenger's head.

Like what is all this??? Why do we need this many buttons???

And the stick for changing gears? It's that little dial in the second photo. You swivel it to change whether you're in park, reverse, drive, etc. I feel like it's gonna just randomly pop into a different gear while I'm driving!

And why the touch screen?? We don't need a massive ipad embedded in the console! Touch screens are not safe to drive with! I almost got in another accident trying to turn down the AC because I have no tactile feedback in the controls!

By old car was built like this:

Most of those buttons were for the radio. Dials for the AC and how to direct it, and those dials clicked when you moved them so you could tell how far they'd moved. The stick shift clunked when you moved it so you could tell how many times it had been moved and you felt it lock into place. Only a couple buttons on the steering wheel, three for cruise control, three for the audio system. And even this was the most buttons I had to learn ever! I'd argue some of the 'features' in that car were kinda useless and needless to have and just took up space!

Maybe I'm just crotchety and old (I'm 24 lol) but we don't need all this shit in cars! It's straight up distracting and unnecessary. It's a car. It gets you from point A to point B. I don't think you'd ever catch my driving a car any newer than like 2014.

Andrew pulls the silver Honda Civic out in front of station 19 to drop off Amber who is looking at the statistics concerning clinics for low income or homeless communities in Seattle that aggravate her.

“You know there are only 30 free clinics in Seattle? And most of them aren’t actually free? In a city where homelessness has increased by over five percent since covid started there are still doctors who prefer patients with money instead of taking the time to treat those who fell under the cracks of this broken system. If you subtract the ones that demand insurance there are only 10 clinics that treat patients no questions asked.”

“And now there are 11 with the Station 19 clinic.” Andrew points out, “It’s baby steps babe.”

“I know.” Amber puts her phone away in her purse, “I just hope our kid doesn’t grow up in a world where people have to choose bankruptcy or death.”

“Me too. Hopefully your stubbornness and ambition will scare the world into buckling down.” Andrew leans over and starts to kiss Amber who responds. He opens his eyes and sees Jo Karev standing on the sidewalk in her casual clothes and lab coat by the front door looking impatiently at them. He regretfully pulls back, “You better go, Jo is waiting.”

Amber frowns and groans as she looks behind her to see Jo raising an eyebrow at her from her spot by the front entrance. She shrugs and turns back to her husband, “Well that just makes me want to keep going.” She kisses Andrew again, who is pleased.

“Mm.” He speaks against her lips, “You’re such a rebel.” They both chuckle as they kiss before Amber pulls back to her disdain as she knows work is waiting.

She groans with a smile at her husband before getting out of the car, “I love you, have a nice day.”

“You too, I’ll see you tonight.”

“You better.” Amber says in a low breath before closing the door and waving at her husband as he drives away. She goes up the steps of the sidewalk and greets her sister-in-law who has a grin, “Good morning.”

“It looks like it is for you.” Jo teases at Amber who shrugs unashamed before Jo motions to the door, “Shall we Dr. DeLuca?”

Amber nods eagerly, “Let’s save some lives.”

Later

Andrew is in his navy-blue scrubs and lab coat guiding a paramedic inside as he wheels a patient inside the pit. Link enters the pit surprised to find his friend there.

“Take her to trauma one, thanks.” Andrew tells the paramedic before going over the tablet.

“Bailey’s got you covering the pit too?”

Andrew shakes his head, “No Jo was supposed to but to prevent one of my in-law’s from having a nervous breakdown I offered to lessen her load. She and Amber and Carina are at the station’s clinic.” Andrew goes behind the station to input the chart, “Hey I want to ask you something, what restaurants do you recommend for a romantic date night?”

Link raises an eyebrow, “Seriously?”

Andrew is busy with the chart to look at the sour look on Link’s face, “Yeah I’m taking Amber out tonight, she’s at the station volunteering and I wanted to do something special for us.”

“Dude I am the very last person you want to ask about romance.” Link tells him bitterly, “Did you page me for this?”

Andrew raises an eyebrow offended, “No. Bed four and if you can help it try not to dim the lights around him.” He hands Link the tablet and walks toward the patient, “Patient came in with abdominal pain and vomiting. The wife says he's your patient.”

Kristen sees Link and stands up, “Dr. Lincoln.”

Link hugs Kristen and hears Helm recite his chart while DeLuca is busy with the patient in the next bed listening in, “Simon Clark, 38, status post synovial sarcoma resection four years ago, has been undergoing chemoradiation for recurrent lung mets.”

“We got this one, Helm.” The resident leaves them and Link speaks to Simon, “Thought I told you to take it easy.”

“Mm, so no 5k next month?” Simon jokes despite his state.

Kristen explains, “This morning I found him in the nursery barely able to breathe. He's nauseous, can't eat. I think it's his chemo, but he was adamant about trying to finish putting together the crib.”

“Would you let your mother-in-law build your kid's crib? I'm supposed to build the crib.” Andrew grins at that sharing the feeling already even when Amber isn’t pregnant yet.

“It's your job to stay alive, Simon.” Kristen tells him, “That's your job.”

Link decides the plan, “Okay, we'll get you some scans, we'll see what's going on, and we'll make you comfortable while we admit you. And no one will build any more furniture. Deal?”

“Deal.” Kristen demands and Simon relents.

“Deal.”

Link goes to Andrew and quietly asks, “I could use a general consult to see what’s causing the abdominal pain, are you free?”

“Yeah. I’ll get Hunt to cover my service.” Andrew pages Hunt and follows Link to radiology where they scan Simon. 10 minutes later they walk down the hall to see the scans in the screening room and Link explains Simon’s story to Andrew.

“Four years ago, he came in as a newlywed with stage two synovial sarcoma of the knee. And we tried every treatment possible while they tried to start a family. But between the chemo, radiation, and surgery, it took them until eight months ago to conceive.” Andrew feels bad for Simon knowing the feeling of wanting to be a dad but not the struggle that comes from his condition, “He made me promise he'd be here long enough to meet his kid.”

They enter the screening room and wait for the images to show up, “Okay well the symptoms could be chemo related.”

“I hope so.” Link says before adding, “Listen man I’m sorry for how I snapped at you earlier. I guess I’m still bitter over how everything went down with Amelia and you planning a romantic date with your gorgeous wife kind of brought that back. I can give you some lists if you want.”  

“It’s fine, Amber isn’t fancy I could lay out hamburgers on fine China and she’d think it was high class.”

Link grins, “You know you married someone way out of your league, right?”

“Oh, trust me I know.” Andrew agrees with a grin before the scans come up, cutting the moment short as it shows bad news.

Link looks at the scans sad, “Crap.”

Andrew looks at the scans closely, “Mass in the ileum, it’s almost obstructing his small bowel. I’m sorry.”

Link sighs at the diagnosis, “How am I gonna tell him it's progressing even faster?”

“We just do it.”

Link looks surprised by him using ‘we’, “It’s my patient.”

“Who has a mass in his small intestine which I am trained to operate on.”

Link gets worried due to his friend being a second year attending who barely did surgeries his first year due to covid, “Have you done this before? Solo?”

“Yeah, the one good thing about the backlogs is that you get to operate on anything in a short span of time. I can try to resect the tumor at the bowel segment, buy him some more time. You can scrub in; you’ve operated on him before and if this goes sideways you can step in.”

Link nods, “Yeah, let’s go.” Link and DeLuca exit the room to lay out their plan to Simon.

Later at Station 19

Amber sets up the exam rooms with Carina and Jo before the clinic opens. After the green card interview was scheduled Carina tasked Amber and Jo with asking her questions about Maya that she would have to answer to prove their marriage is legitimate.

“Favorite food?”

“Papaya.”

“Papaya?” Jo asks surprised, “My favorite food is anything with cheese and I’m pretty sure there’s no fruit with cheese.”

“Well, you’re not a gold winning Olympian who should be captain of a fire station if it wasn’t for bureaucracy and macho men.” Carina defends her wife to Jo who looks at Amber.

“Fishing for compliments.” Amber explains.

“You don’t need confirmation on how awesome your wife is.”

“Yes but I do need questions that will keep me here so I can keep telling you.” Carina reminds the sisters who nod.

Jo asks, “Favorite color?”

Carina thinks, “Um…red.”

“Cremation or burial?” Jo scoffs at Amber’s question both amused and horrified.

Carina chuckles, “What? Do you think ICE is curious on whether I know my wife wants her body in ashes or in a casket?”

Amber helps Carina set up a sheet on a gurney that serves as an exam table, “Hey you said to cover all the basis and ICE are a bunch of macho rednecks who want to keep America pure. And that includes kicking good doctors like you back to your home country.”

“Yeah, she makes a point Carina.” Travis joins in from the exam room next door, “And if you’re an American you can vote for anybody but Michael Dixon as mayor of Seattle. Unless you want your future kid taken from you because of some law he passes where gay couples can’t raise babies together.”

“Great start to an smear campaign Montgomery.” Amber tells him sarcastically.

“I’m sorry it’s just that it frustrates me that politicians like Michael Dixon are so focused on how they can flex their power instead of how they can use that power to tackle real issues like immigration or healthcare or literally every issue that Dixon makes worse.”

“He’s not gonna win.” Jo tells Travis who is still fuming.

“You don’t know that. I mean look at the guys we already have in the white house, I’m sure some of them have done twice as many crimes as Dixon and yet people voted for them.”

Amber nods in agreement, “This argument is exactly why I am apolitical.”

Sullivan chuckles a few feet from them joining in to Carina’s annoyance, “Yeah politics are too confusing for me, it’s why I hardly vote.” Amber and Jo look at Sullivan confused, and he steps forward to introduce himself. Travis sees a disaster coming and quickly walks away, “Hi, Lieutenant Robert Sullivan.”

Jo shakes his hand, “Hi I’m Dr. Jo Karev, this is my sister, Dr. Amber DeLuca.” Amber faces Robert with a sly grin remembering him in less than favorable ways.

Robert nods remembering her as well, “Right we actually met before at Maya and Carina’s wedding you went there as guy DeLuca’s date.”

“Oh yeah I remember you.” Amber says with a fake grin, “You’re the cutthroat son of a bitch who got Maya demoted at her wedding.”

Sullivan frowns at that in surprise at her bluntness as she continues, “My husband described you that first which is usually expected of me, so it is impressive you got my peaceful man that angry.” Carina grins proudly at her sister-in-law defending Maya out of view from the group while Jo stands next to Amber looking uncomfortable.

Robert frowns at that, “I see I have fans with Bishops extended family as well.”

“Trust me you don’t, along with the new fire chief we imagined your head exploding from your macho ego.” Robert opens his mouth to explain but Amber holds up her hand and continues, “And before you mansplain to get me on your side, I recommend you save it because I already hate you and I am hardly a person who changes their mind after one speech.”

Robert frowns at that and keeps quiet as Amber turns to Jo who presses her lips at the scene before facing Amber, “I’m gonna set up more exam rooms.”

Jo supports that wanting her not to cause a scene, “You do that.” Amber walks away from them leaving Sullivan with Jo and Carina who comes back to them with a satisfied grin.

Robert pops his mouth, “She seems nice.”

Carina chuckles at that knowing how her sister-in-law can seem to strangers and people she detests, “Trust me that was her being nice especially towards you.” Carina walks away from Sullivan to get more supplies.

Jo and Sullivan stand there for a moment alone awkwardly before Jo speaks, “I’m gonna…” Jo walks away from Sullivan relieved to be away from the awkwardness.

Chance folded down the welding mask and fired up the plasma cutter. It was for the most serious of problems. When all else had failed, the plasma cutter would be able to deal with the matter.

“You sure that's a good idea Chance? There's gonna be a lot of damage and cleanup.” Jake, his business partner and best friend asked.

“I know what I'm doing Jake. All the other tools wouldn't remove it so this is where it's at.” Chance said with a tone of frustration.

“Yeah but the plasma cutter? Are you really sure you've tried everything else? Measure twice and cut once you know.” Jake put on a pair of welding glasses and leaned against the wall to look at what was transpiring.

“I considered using the saw. I wasn't sure the material however would hold up. The torque would probably splinter it.” Chance said as he moved the plasma cutter across the measured line.

“Yeah… That sounds about right. I would have tried hot water.”

“What good would that do?”

“It would make the metal expand which could force it to move.”

“But how would you turn it?”

“Towel.”

“This way is better.” Chance as he finished the cut. He folded up the welding mask. With a gloved hand he reached to pick the top off. Then he took the glass jar and fished out a chili fruit from it. Then gave it a testing bite. Jake removed the welding goggles and stared.

“Tastes good.” Chance said, satisfied that he had finally opened a stubborn jar. Jake helped himself to another fruit and tasted it.

“Lucky.” He shook his head and gave his pal a light jab in the shoulder. “Alright hotshot. How are you going to keep the jar of chilis in the fridge without it going bad without a lid?”

“I’m going to put it in another jar where the lid isn’t stuck.This time we’re not putting it in the back.” Chance got an empty jar from the entry and filled it from the old one.

“If you're done opening jars, Chance, the Honda needs to have the particle filter changed and the servo pump is on its last legs. See if you can’t also figure out why the transmission is so stiff.” Jake said getting a can of cola while the fridge was open.

“Did you check between the steering wheel and seat?” Chance grinned back at him. Jake narrowed his eyes for a moment, then realized what Chance was saying.

“Speaking of piloting error. When you get the chance, come down to the hangar and we’ll need to look at the Turbostalker.” Jake said while the can hissed open.

“You got it.” Chance said as he cleaned his hands up

Down below the scrapyard, in a secret underground base. Lost to the ages and the ravages of the succession wars. But then recently cleaned out and restored to active use.  An old black and red aerospace fighter sat in a workshop. It had seen battle, fairly recently too. Heat scars showed that lasers had raked across the armour. Small pock-holes on the frontal section were witness to a myriad of long range missile hits.

Jake was busy freeing an armored panel that had gotten hit badly by a laser shot.

“So what’s the problem with her?” Chance asked as he wandered in.

“Myomer strains. Your flying during the last pirate raid a few days ago frayed the myomers going out into the right wing.”Jake motioned at the wing in question.

“It was either that or fly into the Rifleman’s fire. Easy choice.” “Sure. Still needs repairing though. The release system for hardpoints barely works now so we’re going to have to fix that if we want to have those Arrow missiles for the next pirate raid… we better get to work.” Jake sounded a little tired. As though the thankless task they had gotten themselves into helping to protect this side of the planet from pirates and whatever else came from the deep periphery got to him. It made him feel tired in the moment.

“Easy.” Chance as he joined his co-pilot in fixing the plane up. “Just picture the general's face when we pull his ass out of the fire again.” He grinned. Jake’s world felt brighter again.

“Worth all the trouble.” He nodded.

“At the end of the day you gotta admit it was some fancy flying.” Chance pulled loose a panel from the wing to look at the frayed myomers inside.

“Yeah. Just as wasted on the raiders as in the army.” Jake chuckled.

“Heck yeah.”

He isn't rich or socially powerful as some of the other characters from his anime, but he's always quick on his feet and has a few tricks up his sleeves.

She's already weaker in a sense compared to the cast of her anime, but I can see her being supportive and learning chi-blocking, even if she executes in a weird way.

Chika Fujiwara

She is definitely the opposite of Spike when it comes to wealth and social standing, but I could imagine her more in a role of where she is a non-bender but is very manipulative, kind of playing mind games with her opponent.

Tohru Honda

She didn't need special powers in order to help the Sohma family, so a non-bender role would fit with her.

Izuku Midoriya

I don't think I need to say it.

Senku Ishigami

HE WILL USE SCIENCE TO DECIMATE ANY BENDERS WHO WISH HIM OR HIS LOVED ONES HARM! CHANGE MY MIND!

He's isn't a fighter, but we have seen him train and fight when faced against the odds, even though he is just a human in the Netherworld full of demons.

Naturally adaptable and can easily fool his opponents into dropping their guard because of his unassuming appearance.

It's in a similar vain to Chika, but he would be pulling more strings in the background to combat any benders.

Earth would be a good element for him as he endured so much from both versions of his backstory. However, because he was a leader in both stories and he was driven to make changes to the kingdom/lives of those who lived in the lower class better, I put him with fire.

Satoru Gojo

He wants to change how the jujutsu system is and has an insane amount of drive, even if it seems he’s just kickback. Not to mention he already has such powerful and destructive technique, what could possibly go wrong? (Answer: Everything).

Kusuo Saiki

Even in the most ridiculous of situations, he has the drive and energy to achieve his goals and or a quiet life.

Rin Okumura

Driven, determined, stubborn, wants to be the best exorcist and defeat Satan, definitely a firebender.

Soma Yukihira

His biggest drive is to beat his father and to become the best chef in the world, making his perfect element fire.

Ciel Phantomhive

Ironic that he’s fire, but I chose this element as he is a leader who takes charge of his life, even if it means to make a contract with a demon. He knows what he wants and he doesn’t care what it takes to get it.

Killua Zoldyck

Fire, and not just for his lighting. He has the strength and determination to fight for what he believes, even if it means fighting against his family or powerful enemies. He will even use everything in his arsenal to see that Alluka, his friends, and Gon are safe and sound.

Emma

Definitely fire as she is driven to get the kids of the orphanage out of there and safe all the while doing everything in her power so they can get to the human world safely. I could see her as earth too, but she isn't afraid to challenge the system.

Earth:

Levi Ackerman

Is a firm leader who doesn't bend (ha!) to anyone and keeps marching forward even in the hardest of times.

Kobayashi

Blunt, stubborn, but determined and headstrong, I can see her as a powerful earthbender who knows how to keep others in line.

Edward Elric

Even though he has a short temper, he would make a perfect earthbender as he already works with so many elements from the earth and is stubborn to a fault.

Senku Ishigami

He has conviction and drive, but also when he sets his mind to a goal, there is no talking him out of it. For better or for worse, he take on any challenge he comes across and sweeps everyone else along for the ride.

(Plus I can imagine him using his bending and science to creating Octo-Arms just like Doc Ock.)

Air:

Saitama

While indifferent, he still has a heart and fights for the right thing. He can come off as rude or cynical, but that’s only because his indifference affects his social interactions. I first thought fire or earth would be his forte, but then I thought of how he usually fights in the defense of others. Sure he wants to find a fight that he can go all out in, but more often than not, get involved in a fight when civilians or an area is in danger. So I thought air would fit him.

Naegi Makoto

He tries to keep the peace and finds a resolution, and absolutely hates the idea of killing. But he brings a sense of community to the group he leads.

Legoshi

He is quite humble as he purely uses his strength for the sake of others and to protect them, so he would be a prefect airbender

Mako Mankanshoku

Full of life, cheer, and loves her family and friends to the very core, even through the hardest time, she has such high spirits that it’s hard to not get swept up in it.

Ryota Suzui

He doesn’t like to take risks, but is shown to pull through when the stakes are high. Smart, yet thoughtful. Careful, but determined. But above all else, he is grounded.

Tetsuya Kuroko

As you know, he works best in the shadows and as a support. And since air can be used to support the other elements, this is perfect for him.

He deeply cares for those he loves and stands up for what is right. While some go with fire, I see air bending as more of his style.

He doesn't like to be shackled by his own limitations, which is why he strives to break them so he can go higher.

He can be naive at times, but he has a deep understanding of people and emotions, and plus his esper abilities already deals with spirits, so this is a good choice for him.

He doesn't have material desires, he just wants to live his life with his family and friends. He may be a gentle soul, but when push comes to shove, he can pull off amazing feats.

Because of his playful nature and that he strives to protect the spirit world and those he cares deeply for.

Italy

One of his famous landmark is the Grand Canal, but I see that he is a peacekeeper, but also a fighter if need be, (i.e. Turkey). I considered him as an Airbender, but he has earthly attachments so water I found was a better fit as he also cares for his family and friends and can adapt pretty much everywhere, even in the wackiest of ways.

Spike Spiegel

Like his philosophy, he goes with the flow of life and adapts to anything life throws at him. He also has a heart, even if he doesn’t show it.

Satoru Fujinuma

When he has to constantly live through Revival, he has to adapt and be quick to find the oddity. And even if he doesn’t show it or says he doesn’t have the capacity to care about others, he constantly puts himself in harm's way for their sake.

L Lawliet

He is adaptable in so many ways that he always has a contingency plan. Even if one plan fails, he’s quick to come up with another and is always strategizing, like his mind games with Light.

Yuuri Katsuki

He has a deep love for his family, friends, and later on Victor. His entire program centers around the concept of love and during his training he learns how to adapt both physically and mentally.
