"Jai Ho" is a song composed by A. R. Rahman for the 2008 film Slumdog Millionaire. He planned the score in two months and completed it in 20 days. The lyrics were written by Gulzar and are a combination of Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi, with a touch of Spanish.

"Jai Ho" is a phrase which can be roughly translated as "Let there be victory". At the time of its release, covers and remixes of the song and performances of the "Jai Ho" dance were posted on YouTube. It received universally favorable reviews from music critics, who cited it as the best song on the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack, which peaked at #4 on the US Billboard 200 Chart.

"Jai Ho" won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.

Slumdog Millionaire won eight Academy Awards in total, including Best Picture and Best Original Music Score, seven BAFTA Awards, including Best Film and Best Film Music, and four Golden Globe Awards, including Best Film and Best Original Score. The soundtrack won two Grammy Awards, one for the album itself and another, as previously mentioned, for "Jai Ho".

Dil To Pagal Hai (The Heart Is Crazy) is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language musical romance film directed by Yash Chopra. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor and Akshay Kumar. Made on a budget of ₹90 million (US$2.48 million), which includes print and advertising costs, Dil To Pagal Hai grossed over ₹710 million (US$19.55 million) worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing film of the year.

The soundtrack of Dil To Pagal Hai includes 10 songs. The songs for the film were composed by Uttam Singh, while the lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. Most of the songs were sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Udit Narayan. The music was a major hit among the audience, with the album becoming the best-selling Bollywood soundtrack of the year and second-most of the 1990s decade, with 12.5 million soundtrack album sales.

Lemme start with the HC of Sevika's name.

Now, everybody knows Sevika's name means maid or female servant. In my headcanon, Sevika had an older sister (Rani, for the story‘s sake) who her father would boast about more since she was traditional and girly—Sevika having grown up a tomboy, hence her name.

When Sevika later learned the origin of her name, she insisted on calling herself Anvika instead. Anvika refers to power of knowledge, strength, and... fulfillment.

This was when she was in her mid-late teens, and now she came to terms with her name for what it is—albeit with a bit of reluctance. In Sevika's eyes, her name represents loyalty and devotion. Not servitude.

She won’t be a servant, but she will definitely hold it down. Ride or die.

On that note, Sevika prefers the nickname Vika more than Sev (or any other variant). Lemme explain why: Sev (Seva, with the schwa deletion rule in hindi) means service, while Vika means ability or strength.

It’s a subtle nod to what I wrote earlier, how she now accepts her name for what it is, but reluctantly.

She’s the type to tell you “Loyalty’s a choice, not a leash. I follow because I want to, not because I have to.”
