I only just started going to concerts this year (so this might be something super obvious to others) but it's crazy how listening to music like right after a live show feels so... hollow. Two-dimensional. It's missing that physicality.

It never occurred to me before going to shows how physical music could be. At my first show I wasn't sure how to feel about it at first, but towards the end and now after my second one, I've decided it's a sensation I thoroughly enjoy. Especially the deep vibrations you feel in your chest. It really adds a whole other layer to it.

Dealing with Dragons: Cimorene sketch ^_^

Been re-listening to Dealing with Dragons recently (anyone who knows me knows I will not shut up about how formative this series was for me re: many things but mostly dragons) and so I got the urge to draw Cimorene again (I sketched her like a year or so ago, but can't find it, so I thought a redesign with my new style was perfect!)

Look at that face. That's a very big (menacing) smile for someone you're seeing for the very first time. The way his entire body puffs up it makes him look so eager, and there's a lot I can do with that (¬‿¬)

Also just the fact that Alastor isn't even doing anything. He's just standing there, staring up at Adam (albeit also menacingly), and Adam immediately went over there, no hesitation.

There were so many other people he could've gone after first, like Charlie or Vaggie, but, nope, he's going to the freaky-looking smiling deer man first.

Love that for me.

Also, in case you haven't seen them yet, you should definitely check out mawdam's Alastor/Adam art on Twitter. It's what first got me into the ship and it is just 🤌so good. Even though I follow them, I check their page often to see if they've posted any new art.

i read 8980 a couple days ago and i'm just now getting around to seeing people's thoughts on it. i feel like a lot of people neglect to mention that, while it is extremely heavy and well done horror, it is real horror. it is not a story that exists in a vacuum to be admired from afar and then to move on, like most scps that exist in the public eye. it isn't just, really really scary or something. it's completely and utterly dread inducing and gut wrenching and horrible (in the emotional sense). it is something that can happen in real life. it is something that has happened and will happen again. the way yossipossi wrote this particular piece is extremely moving in how much it grips you with its message that it is something extremely real. it is not your average horror story, and i feel the way people talk about it (even just in passing remarks or jokes) does not truly convey 8980's true nature.

if you have not read it and plan on reading it. please please please heed the content warnings. it really does mean each and every one of them. it is a fantastic piece but it is a heavy one.

What's it like being a mechanitor?

Being a mechanitor is awesome!! It takes a bit of getting used to at first, having all those ultrafine wires settling into their places around your skull, but after that, you have so much power!! You can get mechanoids to do everything you want with little more than a thought! It's perfect for anybody who wishes to transcend their weak, useless bodies! The first step toward a perfected humanity!

... Of course, there are drawbacks. If you happen to be suddenly spawned into existence with every memory of being a mechanitor but none of the actual abilities, it will leave you feeling hollow and more useless than you ever felt before. Now you know what you could be, you feel the loss that much more sharply.

That would never happen, though, so we probably don't need to consider such a ridiculous, outlandish scenario.
