I think the way hussie wrote about gender and they themselves figuring out their own queerness and opening up more to being queer Whilst writing homestuck (which is basically All character dialogue and character moments) aspects of their identity bled into a lot of the characters just because yknow when youre pouring your psyche out into this huge piece of literature thats bound to happen and i think its a really interesting point of analysis with how gender was written in homestuck (insane)

Would have freckles EVERYWHERE if he went outside in the sun regularly. Like I’m talking everywhere. All on his face and arms and back etc. He has his first proper summer outside and his cheeks and nose are just absolutely smattered with them.

He’s also ginger so I will unfortunately cast He Gets Sunburnt Disease on him. Sorgy. He stays out in the sun too long and js looks like 🍅. No regrets tho.

Since he hasn’t interacted with many people other than Frollo over the years he isn’t very sure if something is a Normal Social Thing or just something that Frollo did with him. Often carries out actions or behaviours that Frollo expected from him with other people that have no idea what he’s doing. Like referring to people exclusively by honorifics even if the situation doesn’t call for it etc. Comes across as overly formal because of it. Similar to how I refer to Duke from re8 as like Mr The Duke. Like it’s unnecessarily over the top.

He probably had to guess what the other angles of the houses and buildings he carved looked like (because it’s tricky to see them from above/he couldn’t see the far facing sides etc) so when he was accepted into the town and able to sort of roam on his own the very first thing he did was visit those buildings, make mental notes and then go back in his belltower to recharge from his trip outside and to frantically repaint and recarve everything if he got it wrong 😭

Probably has issues with feeling like he needs ‘permission’ to do things due to Frollo being so controlling, and therefore asks people for permission to do things. Like he’ll ask Esmeralda if he can go out into the town one day on his own to do something and she’s like “??? i’m not your boss why are you asking me.” Eventually it gets to the point where they can just instinctually guess what he’s going to say before he even speaks a word & then they give him permission ahead of time. He breathes in deep abt to speak and someone speaks up like “Yes you are allowed to do *insert thing*” and he stands there kinda stunned before shuffling off to do it before they change their mind

Is easy to scare when it comes to people sneaking up on him from behind (because he can’t hear them approaching) but is weirdly unaffected by horror stories. Like the gang gather around a campfire after going out camping or whatever they do in medieval france and Clopin is spinning them some medieval version of Man Door Hand Hook Car Door and everyone is shaking in their boots as Quasi is sat there like. Is that IT? like ur absolutely terrified of THAT? are u kidding?

Uses Marie as a default name similar to how people will spit out something along the lines of like Bob/Joe/Bill whenever you ask them to name smth. That’s why 99% of his bells are named something Marie-adjacent

Read in a fic somewhere that he read nature poetry as a kid and imagined the outside world and I’m adopting that into my personal belief system.

This only applies to a Modern AU but. he’d point out bad CGI in movies. like constantly. It really ruins the immersion for him, so he just vaguely complains about it or say something like “hm that looks a bit odd” until other ppl agree or throw pillows at him slash tell him to shut up slash fill in the blank here

i've been so incredibly scatterbrained as of late and i gotta get my butt back to writing. it's been my goal to talk and write with everyone i'm mutuals with, but the last time i properly reached out to all my mutuals was in february... just to help me organise my thoughts and jump back on that train, i'm putting this out as a plotting/starter call !!

aka i'll run into your dms, strike up plot ideas — or revitalise old chats that i've forgotten about — and write you something. does not matter if we already have threads or not. and if i've already been in your dms and forgot about them, feel free to treat this as a 'jude im in yr DMs' reminder button... or if i promised to write you smth and then didn't... 😅 or if you want to poke me abt a certain thread you're specifically waiting on. feel free to remind me here!!

i will crawl through my mutuals list eventually and reach out again to everyone regardless of whether you like this or not, but i'll start with these!

and re: my writing style... i occasionally try and wing it! love to see where a thread goes, love to send out memes and get them (though i'm trying to limit myself on both until i catch up with drafts again). but overall, i do lean more plot-oriented and would love to throw down ideas or at least introduce ourselves and then determine a simple setting/basic starter thread idea before getting into it!

we don't need to talk about everything and plan out the entire world/rship, but i like to have possibilities to swirl around in my brain, and shepard can be such a closed-off character in the start that it helps a lot ... + the fact that he has such a specific narrative arc emotionally and mentally means he can seem entirely a different person depending on which game of the trilogy we're talking. it helps to know which one you're most interested in writing within, and what we vibe with best — and, if your muse knows shepard throughout the trilogy or at least throughout m.ass effect 1 and 2, that change is something they have to navigate, and i'm always super down to help explore that!

Eris rises with a name in his mouth he can't quite get his teeth around, and the feeling of silken hair trailing through his fingers.

It turns out to be the cotton of his pillow and the beams of sunlight carding through the space between his hands.

None of that matters, and he lets it pass with little but a second thought. Trying to heft himself up on his elbows proves someone lashed him to his bed during the night. At least that's what his bones say, stuck with a heavy metal in their center so he cannot even lift his head. Neck stiff, tilted at an odd, uncomfortable angle. He looks out into his room, padded with luxurious carpets so even the heaviest of footsteps are muffled. A pool of golden sunlight is muddied, re-formed, and then settles around slim, matronly shoulders. There's a gray mass, full of bushy, concerned eyebrows and the repetitive tap-tap-tap of a wagging tail hitting his bedside table.

At this angle, frozen as he is like flowers in winter, Eris cannot protect himself from the cold, wet nose that buries itself into his neck.

The shock is a hiss through his clenched teeth. If his jaw was not stuck together it would be an ungainly shriek. Perhaps that's one thing he can thank the poison in his blood for.

It's not a hard leap in logic—Madge's muttering makes most of the jump for him.
